The David Spoon Experience 3-1-23 Part 1
1) King David says don't let me be ashamed, Lord, for I've called upon You. This is our way of saying please, God, don't fail me now. The way that David is asking is not a lack of faith but a request for a quickness of action on his behalf. He recognizes God’s greatness but asks Him to demonstrate that greatness right now!
2) David shares a secret in his psalm. He says something regarding the people who fear Him and trust in Him. Lord, you hide them in the secret place of Your presence. That means that God's very presence is the place to go where nobody else is around and when nobody else is around. We find our refreshment, strength, comfort, safety, and our answers are in God alone.
3) David confesses that he makes statements in haste, which is a simple way of saying that we speak before we think. And he felt like he was cut off before the eyes of the Lord. But what he recognizes is that that thinking was not accurate. The truth is that the Lord preserves the faithful. So he writes to others, but also to himself. Be of good for courage and strengthen your heart all who hope in the Lord, including himself. By the way, that includes YOU!
