12-30-24 part 2: The Power of Accommodation: How Abram's Choice Brought Blessings
This episode emphasizes the importance of unity within the church and among believers, as illustrated through the story of Abram and Lot. David Spoon delves into the dynamics of family and community, highlighting that even amidst personal conflicts, the need for cooperation is crucial for survival against external challenges. He points out that Abram's willingness to accommodate Lot's desires, despite his own rightful claims, showcases a model of selflessness that God rewards. The discussion touches on how divisions can weaken the body of Christ, especially when faced with common adversaries. Throughout the episode, listeners are encouraged to foster peace and unity, drawing from biblical examples that stress the significance of working together for a greater purpose.
David Spoon captures listeners' attention with a dynamic introduction, setting the stage for an insightful discussion that weaves together biblical narratives, personal anecdotes, and interactive elements. The episode centers around the story of Abraham and Lot from Genesis 13, illustrating how wealth can lead to conflict within families and communities. David emphasizes the tensions that arose due to the abundance of livestock belonging to both Abram and Lot, which resulted in strife among their workers. This foundational conflict serves as a springboard for deeper reflections on the nature of relationships, particularly within the body of Christ.
As David delves into the narrative, he highlights Abraham's wisdom in addressing the conflict head-on. By offering Lot the first choice of land, Abraham demonstrates a selfless leadership style that prioritizes peace over personal gain. David draws parallels to contemporary challenges within churches, stressing the importance of maintaining unity in the face of division. He points out that just as Abraham recognized the need for unity amidst external threats from the Canaanites and Perizzites, today’s believers must also be vigilant against divisions that can undermine their collective mission. This call for unity resonates strongly, urging listeners to evaluate their own relationships and communal ties.
The episode is rich with engagement as David encourages listeners to participate through trivia questions and share their own stories. His humorous storytelling and relatable anecdotes create a warm atmosphere, making the audience feel like part of a family gathering. Concluding with a prayer for peace and understanding, David encapsulates the essence of the episode: that through acts of love and consideration, believers can overcome challenges and stand united in their faith, ultimately fulfilling their shared calling.

And now for something completely different.
David:Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.
David:It's marvelous, monumental, most fascinating, massively mind bending Monday as we join our hearts and minds as one, drawing closer to the King of Kings and glorifying his name.
David:First, we're gonna pick it back up.
David:Oh, boy.
David:Oh, boy.
David:In Genesis 13, starting at verse 5, what we find out that Lot, who was hanging out with Abram was also a very wealthy guy with plenty of sheep and cattle.
David:The problem was that the land they were living on couldn't support all the animals between Abram and Lot.
David:So this created tension between their workers, which in turn created tension between the two families.
David:So next, Abraham steps up to talk to Lot about the situation.
David:We get a peek at some family dynamics as business becomes the birth of the tension within the family.
David:Interesting.
David:Abram makes the point that because they're so close and they're close relatives, they can't afford this kind of division.
David:It's amazing to understand because the prior verse says that the Canaanites and Perizzites were also in the land.
David:In order to survive, they needed to stick together and could not afford the division, hint, hint, for the church.
David:Hello.
David:Abraham steps back and offers.
David:What a guy.
David:He offers Lot the choice to pick whatever direction he wants.
David:He tells him, you stay here, I'll go over there.
David:You go over there, I'll stay here.
David:Lot, we would call this being very accommodating.
David:Abram did not have to do this.
David:But offering to be accommodating on behalf of someone else is something that the Lord rewards.
David Spoon:David Spoon's life has been an experience.
David Spoon:While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.
David Spoon:Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.
David Spoon:The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experience experiences with others.
David Spoon:After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.
David:He joined KAAM and this radio program began.
David Spoon:You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.
David:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.
David:Local, national and heavenly talk.

David:Lessons for surviving, living and prevailing.
David:Yeah, I tried to sing it.
David:So what?
David:Politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities and nuy vey, so much more.
David:Now remember, it's not professional radio.
David:And to prove it's not professional radio, we will talk to our very own Jam and Jacob, who is the leader of the pack.
David:Jam and Jacob is the David Spoon Experience.
David:As the leader of the pack of professional radio is the David Spoon Experience Professional radio.
Jacob:Well, David, as the leader of the pack, I am here to say, no, it is not.
David:It is not the leader of the pack anyway.
David:No, that is correct.
David:It is not.
David:It's just radio.
David:For those of you that got that reference, it's funny.
David:Here's the bottom line.
David:We want to know what you think, so you can email us during the show.
David:Davidemusincreased.org that's davidemusincreased.org you can also text us.
David:Not Texas, text us.
David: -: David:Although it's good to be in Texas.
David: -: David: -: David: -: David: -: David:Talking to Jim and Jacob is like knowing that your spiritual radio phone family has your back.
Jacob:Thank you, David.
Jacob:Happy Monday.
David:Happy Monday to you, my friend.
David:Boy, that was a small little rant in the first 30 minutes.
David:Kind of a nonstop, put the quarter in the guy, walk away, let it just do what it does right kind of thing.
David:Don't you love that, though?
David:You sit there and you go, I don't know what he's here.
David:Who knows what he's doing.
Jacob:I have to do less when you do that.
Jacob:So I'm okay with that.
Jacob:I just sit back and listen.
David:Yeah, okay.
David:I understand, too.
David:You know, you can reach out to us, by the way, for praise reports, because we like that.
David:Praise reports, testimonies, whatever you want to call them.
David:That Semantics.
David:Don't get into that kind of goofy stuff.
David:Just simply recognize this.
David:If there's an opportunity for you to share something that is imperative, that is in blessing, that is in touching, that is encouraging.
David:Did you have something happen that encourages you?
David:Share it.
David:Share, because people get blessed by it.
David:You get blessed by it.
David:God gets honored by it.
David:Maybe you got a prayer request and your desire is to absolutely, positively have other people join you.
David:Maybe it's something good.
David:I have this great job opportunity.
David:I want to see if we can get to it.
David:Maybe it's something bad.
David:I.
David:I have this terrible job situation.
David:I want to get out of it.
David:Maybe it's got nothing to do with any of that.
David:Maybe you just want to have a really good year coming up and have a greater sense of faith and expectation Call in, we'll pray, because you know God's going to say yes.
David:Maybe you got something you just want to share, something that's on your heart and mind.
David:Maybe you got a scripture.
David:Maybe you're using.
David:We're going to do on Thursday our reveal for what our theme will be in the sense of what we do on Thursdays.
David:But, but maybe you've got something inside of you and you just want to, you know, you want to have a scripture going into the year and you just want to share that.
David:Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it.
David:Maybe you've got an answer to Bible trivia.
David:You guys ought to get this one.
David:It's pretty easy.
David:Remember, these are all connected in some capacity to angels.
David:This is out of Exodus 3:2.
David:Exodus 3:2.
David:The angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire out in the midst of a bush.
David:What was the unusual thing about it that caught Moses attention?
David:The angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire out of the midst of the bush.
David:What was the weird thing that caught Moses attention?
David:Exodus chapter three, verse two.
David:If you think you know the answer.
David: -: David: -: David: -: David: -: David:You can send an email david@hemustincrease.org the angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire in the midst of the bush.
David:What was the unusual thing about it that caught mo's attention?
David:Exodus 3:2.
David:Okay, all right.
David:So we're gonna do our DNA.
David:Cause I like doing DNA.
David:Cause I live by DNA.
David:Because DNA is really important.
David:D stands for draw closer to the Lord daily.
David:So when we pray, one of the things Jesus taught us to pray, the manner.
David:As you know, we closed out on Friday talking about the manner, the methodology, so to speak, that Jesus encouraged us to pray in.
David:It's the same actually in Luke 11 as it is in Matthew 6.
David:Most people just don't recognize that.
David:But the key component in that is in that element.
David:He said, give us this day our daily bread.
David:So there is a daily request in the structure of prayer, which means prayer is daily.
David:I mean, it's not escapable.
David:Give us this day our daily bread.
David:And we need help every day for the Lord to supply.
David:And then on top of that, we need him every day just to make it.
David:Yes, I like the MC Hammer.
David:We got to pray.
David:We got to pray just to make it today.
David:Yeah, I like that because it's true.
David:And the more you draw closer to the Lord, and this is the biggest thing I want to tell you, and I'll say it every day if I can say it.
David:The more you draw closer to the Lord, the better your life on this side of glory is, period.
David:It's the best opportunity to bring a little bit of heaven into this earthly realm.
David:And, oh, by the way, that's also scriptural, because Jesus said, father, who art thou in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
David:Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth like it is in heaven.
David:So, you know that's a part of the plan, right?
David:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David:There's a new group out.
David:Just absolutely blows my mind.
David:They are twisting the word of God.
David:They don't care about Jesus.
David:They don't care about God.
David:They care about their social status with other people.
David:They live for the audience and not the author.
David:They're trying to prove in scripture, which they cannot even come close to doing, that God is pro lgbtq.
David:R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z.
David:It's absurd.
David:Absurd.
David:Never be ashamed of what the word of God has to say.
David:Don't let people rip at the word of God to shreds.
David:You stand firm.
David:God created.
David:Created the universe.
David:The dude can write a book.
David:Stand firm in the word of God.
David:Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David:And by the way, he made it clear that it was male and female, just in case you're wondering.
David:Matthew, chapter 19.
David:All right.
David:And so you got D.
David:Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David:N.
David:Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David:And A.
David:Always be ready.
Jacob:To serve.
David:Always.
David:Always.
David:I just love that.
David:I love that one Fill that we do.
David:I don't know if it'll happen today.
David:Probably not.
David:But where I say to my son, you got to be ready.
David:I can't always be ready.
David:You gotta always be ready.
David:That's what the scripture says.
David:You don't have a choice.
David:This isn't an option.
David:It's like, okay, door number one, door number two, or door number three.
David:And who doesn't know that most of the good gifts are behind door number two?
David:That's not the point.
David:The point is this.
David:It's not an option.
David:We are supposed to present ourselves to the Lord daily to be used by him as he sees fit in his desires, in his plans, not as we determine.
David:So that requires a surrender and it requires a presentation of ourselves to God.
David:Now, I don't have a problem if it takes you a few extra minutes when you wake up.
David:It takes me extra few minutes to wake up.
David:Just to wake up.
David:It wasn't like that 20 years ago, 20 years after, it's like that.
David:But eventually when I get my brain back on inside my head and my, you know, my head is screwed onto my body correctly and I'm thinking and walking, then whatever you want today, Lord, I just want to be available to be used by youy and partner with youh.
David:That's what I say every day.
David:It's not long, it's not hard, it's not complex.
David:And then what I do is partner with God so He can help me be ready.
David:I can't do it without him anyway, right?
David:Always be ready to serve.
David:Ask God for help if you can't do it.
David:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or His words.
David:A Always be ready to serve.
David:Your trivia question.
David:Dave's on a roll today.
David:You better be careful.
David:The angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire out of the midst of the bush.
David:What was the unusual thing about it that caught Moe's attention?
David:Exodus 3.
David:2.
David: -: David:Additionally, you can send an email, davidemustincrease.org It's a pretty straightforward question.
David:All the questions will have a little angel touch in it.
David:You'll get the reference so you'll be able to look it up.
David:Or you can do your best guessing.
David:If you guess wrong, it's not like the end of the world.
David:I actually find out when people guess wrong, they never forget that.
David:They're like, I'll never forget that.
David:We do have somebody ready to answer a trivia question.
David:Let's go ahead and send them on through.
David:Knock, knock.
David:This is David.
David:Who am I talking to?
Fred:Hi, Dr.
Fred:Spoon.
Fred:This is Fred.
David:Hello, Fred.
David:How are you, brother?
Fred:I'm doing fine.
David:Awesome.
Fred:I need your.
Fred:I'll get your.
Fred:Pray for that at the end.
David:Okay, do me a favor.
David:Turn your.
David:If your radio is on, turn it down.
David:Otherwise you have a phenomenal phone that has awesome, awesome speaker process because it's getting a little bit of feedback.
David:Not a lot, just a little.
David:Just a little.
David:So I'm just saying if you can, great.
David:If not, don't worry about it.
David:All right, my brother, let's get the trivia question Done.
David:And then we will talk to you about what you need prayer for.
David:We will go from there.
David:Here it is pretty straightforward.
David:Poor Mo.
David:What a guy he is.
David:Out there in the desert, the angel of the Lord appears to Moses in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush.
David:What was the unusual thing that caught Mo's attention?
Fred:You know, David, even molten.
Fred:Even rock at a certain degree will melt.
David:Correct.
Fred:This was moved by God.
Fred:God's fire did not consume the bush on purpose.
David:That is Correctamundo.
David:Now, I would never encourage anybody to watch this movie, but in the Three Amigos, they had the singing bush.
David:This is the burning bush.
David:And this burning bush was on fire and doing nothing.
David:And he's like, you had to be there going, wait, wait, wait, wait.
David:What's wrong with this picture?
David:Oh, I know it's not burning.
David:What a moment for him, right?
David:Wowzer Bowser.
David:Absolutely.
Fred:It would have gotten my attention, that's for sure.
David:Yeah.
David:Oh, yeah.
David:Oh, yeah.
David:You're looking at it going.
David:And I don't think this was the bush that was like a foot and a half tall, or I think this was like a big one of those big, you know, 12, 15 feeders, you know, just flaming all over the place.
David:And just like, it's still green.
David:It's still.
David:Wait, what's going on here?
Fred:You know, God knows how to get out.
David:That's right, isn't it?
David:That's right.
David:What do you got for prayer, brother?
Fred:I've been under the weather.
Fred:I.
Fred:I went and got tested for Covid yesterday.
Fred:Thank God.
Fred:The test came back negative.
Fred:But the doctor said you have a virus.
Fred:You know, it's just something that you're gonna have to just let.
Fred:But I'm just thinking.
Fred:I read somewhere, I think that's Isaiah 53, that he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chest, the chastising of our peace was upon him.
Fred:And by his strength, we are heal.
Fred:What Peter said we were here.
Fred:The bottom line is this.
Fred:I don't think there's a virus anywhere that God cannot hear.
Fred:So I'm asking you and your audience to pray for me.
David:Amen.
David:And that Isaiah 53.
David:5 is that specific verse which is the same as 1st Peter 2:24.
David:By his stripes we are healed.
David:And so it's important for people to recognize that there is a ability, a redemptive element that is connected to salvation.
David:And one of those is the opportunities for complete healing out of anything, no matter what it is.
David:So let's pray because a virus is them saying we can't do anything about it.
David:But prayer is saying God can.
David:That's the difference.
David:Let's pray.
David:Father, we come before you right now.
David:We lift up our brother Fred.
David:He's hurting.
David:He's got a virus.
David:It ain't nice.
David:It's not pleasant.
David:Mankind can do nothing, but you can do anything.
David:And nothing is too hard for you.
David:And so we pray for our brother who blesses people when he calls this show.
David:He encourages people, he lifts people up just by sharing and by his attitude.
David:We are asking you to touch our brother.
David: , but also from Exodus: David:We're looking for the outpouring of deliverance and freedom and healing from Fred and from hearing a testimony saying I am doing better.
David:We look forward to that so we can rejoice with him.
David:We pray this in the only name worthy of prayer.
David:We pray it in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
David:Amen and amen.
Fred:I receive that in Jesus name.
Fred:Thank you and your audience for praying for me and God bless everyone and asking God to bless every one of you with a prosperous new year.
David:Amen, brother.
David:Amen.
David:I'm with you.
Fred:God bless you.
Fred:Thank you, Dr.
Fred:Sponge.
David:God bless, brother.
David:Bye bye.
David:All right, so you just be praying.
David:You know, we're just gonna keep praying, praying, praying, believing, believing, believing, watching, watching, watching.
David:Cause God is awesome.
David:And if you don't think so, there's a problem with your faith right there.
David:Get it.
David:All right, take a break and then come back.
David:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Fred:This is the way I put it.
David:He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.
David:That's exactly right.
David:That's an excellent say.
David:He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.
David:That's a great line.
David:That's excellent.
David:And let me share this story with you.
David:I got to share this thing.
David:You brought that up about the gas.
David:And I've talked about the story one other time, but I'll bring it up again.
David:When I, my brother and I, Billy and Larry and Bruce and I were at Foundation Fellowship.
David:It was a church long ago.
David:This lady testified it was just so amazing.
David:It was right when the gas was going absolutely crazy.
David:And she said, she's filling up her car and she puts the car was empty.
David:She put the gas in and she looked up to heaven and she said, how are we going to get through this?
David:This is absolutely, this is getting to be ridiculous.
David:She put the car in, she started filling up the gas.
David:And after about a dollar, it stopped and it wouldn't pump anymore.
David:She could only pay about a buck's worth.
David:And her car was empty.
David:And on a dollar, God filled her tank completely.
David:And so it's just like God can do anything.
David:It's like, oh, no, I'm telling that lady she was, you just could not.
David:You cannot take the joy of the Lord away from her.
David:She was like so happy.
David:She was restrained in sharing it.
David:But it just tells you God can take anything we have and multiply it and get us through.
David:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David:That's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David:Here's your next trivia question.
David:Again, another angel scenario.
David:And oh, by the way, the reference point I'll give you it ahead of time.
David:Genesis 16:7 through 9.
David:Now, after these, there's two of them there.
David:The one after this a little harder.
David:But let's just, you know, let's just go forward where we're at.
David:The angel of the Lord, right.
David:So very, very specifically, Genesis 16:7, 9.
David:The angel of the Lord said to Hagar, return to thy mistress and submit yourself to her hands.
David:Who was her mistress that the angel spoke of?
David:The angel of the Lord said to Hagar, return to your mistress and submit yourself to her.
David:Who is this mistress the angel spoke of?
David:Genesis 16:7,9.
David: -: David: -: David: -: David: -: David:Return to thy mistress and submit yourself to her hands.
David:Who was the mistress of whom he was Speaking of.
David:Genesis 16 through 9 is your opportunity.
David:In the meantime, I do want to make sure we get this done.
David:A quickie, but a solid one.
David:Let's do Jake's take.
David:All right, my friend, you got the floor.
David:What do we got?
Jacob:Well, David, let's start with the Dallas Cowboys yesterday.
David:That was a, that wasn't even a game.
David:That was a, that was like a shellacking, man.
David:That was bad stuff, right?
Jacob:Oh, if, if our listeners don't know that the Eagles beat the Cowboys yesterday 41 to 7.
Jacob:And it was, it was 7 to 7 at one point, right?
Jacob:It was almost, it was a close game for a little bit and then he got ugly quickly.
Jacob:So the Cowboys lose to the Eagles 41 to 7.
Jacob:And then, David, your Detroit Lions, tough game.
Jacob:Tough game against, against the Vikings.
David:Yeah.
David:But now, yeah, they have to play tonight.
David:They have to play tonight.
David:Monday night they play in San Francisco.
David:I still think Detroit's going to win that.
David:But then the all comes down.
David:Doesn't matter whether they win or lose because the following week when the Detroit plays the Vikings, it's either position one or position five.
Jacob:Yeah, that would be a tough game against, against them.
Jacob:And yeah, the 5 position is not the worst because we talked about it for the show how they would get a home game if, if they get the five spot.
Jacob:But the one seed, of course the one seed is always the one you want to get because you get a bye week and you get home games leading up to the super bowl.
Jacob:If you make it all the way to the Super Bowl.
David:All right, so we'll take it one game at a time, which is how you have to do it.
David:That's how you eat an elephant.
Jacob:Don't jinx it.
Jacob:Don't jinx the Lions possibly making the Super Bowl.
David:Right.
David:So you eat an elephant one bite at a time.
David:And so then you do the football thing one game at a time.
David:So we're going for tonight Detroit beating San Francisco.
Jacob:Yes.
David:We'll stay with that.
David:And then carrying that momentum into their big game the next week.
David:Okay.
David:But they got to stay focused on this game.
Jacob:Yep.
Jacob:Yep.
Jacob:I have them being the San Francisco 49ers.
Jacob:And then we'll talk about them and the Vikings.
Jacob:That'll be a great game.
David:We'll talk about it.
David:I love it.
David:All right, so that's that.
David:Here it is.
David:Back to your trivia question.
David:We're jumping in the teaching your trivia question.
David:The angel of the Lord said to Hagar, return to your mistress and submit yourself to her.
David:Who is this mistress?
David:The angel spoke of Genesis 16:7 through 9.
David:If you think you know.
David: -: David:And here it is.
David:Now, Lot, who was traveling with Abram, was also very wealthy with sheep and cattle and many tents.
David:But the land could not support both Abram and Lot.
David:With all their flocks and herds living so close together, there were too many animals for the available pasture land.
David:So the argument broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and the herdsmen of Lot.
David:Let's stop right there.
David:We're going to find out in this story, and most of you already know this story, that Abram and Lot come to an agreement.
David:But sometimes it's the people that are under that create some of the tensions.
David:And in this case, it was the people that were working for Abram and the people that were working for Lot that they broke out into an argument, and that's not a good thing.
David:And when the Bible's talking about this kind of argument, there's an implication that it's sharp.
David:It's not a little, well, we were here first.
David:No, we were here first.
David:I'll get you at recess.
David:That's not the kind of thing that's going on here.
David:This kind of thing is a little bit more drastic in its approach.
David:So what I want you to pick up on is this.
David:Okay.
David:The idea that the people who follow can't work together with the other people that will follow is not an altogether bizarre process to see because we see it in denominations.
David:It's not always the people that are leading the denominations or helping do movements in the church.
David:Most of the time, it's the followers that take a very militaristic or a very, you know, we have the right prideful kind of position.
David:To be a genuine leader in biblical times meant there is a sense of.
David:Most of the time, a sense of rightness, a right perspective and so on.
David:People that follow, though, can really get their dander in a.
David:What's the word I'm looking for?
David:Get their hair in a dander.
David:Maybe that was the way to say it.
David:I said it wrong.
David:Doesn't matter.
David:What the scripture is trying to communicate is the land was insufficient.
David:We would think of this as well.
David:Abram was the guy.
David:I mean, he should have had the first position and Lot was just lucky to kind of connect.
David:Right, Right.
David:Okay, so let me just make a really important point.
David:Sometimes the Lord will bless.
David:Listen to this.
David:So that there's so much going on that it has to expand.
David:And do you know that's true in churches?
David:Sometimes the Lord will pour it out that even the church needs to kind of split up and we need to have some ministry over here and ministry over here.
David:Not every time that there's movement to the left and to the right is that bad, because we already know what Jesus said.
David:We already know that after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, that there would be ministry to Jerusalem, to Samaria, to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth.
David:Sometimes the blessing is there so that there can be expansion.
David:But nobody looks at it that way.
David:All we see is what's in front of us.
David:There's not enough land.
David:There's not enough.
David:And see that right there.
David:Do you think that the Lord knows how much is needed?
David:And so when we turn to the Lord and even when we say there's not enough, do you know who we're saying that to?
David:The one who created the world.
David:He knows where it breaks down.
David:He knows where it goes.
David:And even if people amongst us or under us are really mad at one another, let me just say this.
David:Nothing happens with God that he's in a vacuum and doesn't see the situation.
David:The Lord blessed Abraham on purpose.
David:The Lord blessed Lot on purpose.
David:All of it has a purpose.
David:You'd be thinking, well, some of this is going to turn out Bad.
David:Yeah, but some of it's going to turn out good.
David:And the Lord is directing the steps.
David:Stop thinking there's not enough.
David:Start remembering.
David:In God, it is enough.
David:In the Lord Jesus, it is enough.
David:By the power of the Holy Spirit, it is enough.
David:You don't come behind in anything.
David:And while people can squabble over certain things, the Lord knows the solutions.
David:Get that?
David:There's a peace that you and I should have when we come against this confrontation.
David:And then we're sitting there saying, there's not enough.
David:Oh, yeah, there is.
David:There's God.
David:So there's enough.
David:Get it?
David:All right.
David:Answer to your trivia question.
David:The angel of the Lord said to Hagar, return to your mistress.
David:Submit yourself under her hand.
David:Who was the mistress he spoke of?
David:It was Sarai or Sari.
David:That is Sarah or Sari or Sarah.
David:It was Sarah Getta.
David:Go over it.
David:It's simple.
David:We'll take a short break, then come back for the cool lesson.
David:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David:Short break, don't go anywhere.
Jennifer:Hey there.
Jennifer:It's amazing Jennifer.
Jennifer:And I am helping out the David Spring Experience.
Jennifer:As you may know, I basically run the KAAM radio station.
David:Amazing.
Jennifer:And Dr.
Jennifer:Dave is looking for a few good people to join and become representatives, ambassadors and stewards of this here radio ministry.
Jennifer:Now, you may be thinking, well, I'd love to get involved, but I'm not very qualified for ministerial positions.
Jennifer:Well, the truth is that because you are a child of our heavenly Father, that you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and you seek to live by the power of the Holy Spirit, you have all you need to be a part of this ministry.
Jennifer:But Jennifer, don't I need to be perfect?
Jennifer:No, just go to hemustincrease.org that's hemustincrease.org click on the three lines at the top right of the website and then click on the Ambassador's Initiative link.
Jennifer:Just fill out the form and we will reach out to you.
Jennifer:But sorry, no parking tickets will be paid for you as an ambassador through this position.
Jennifer:You are on your own with that.
David:The David spoon Experience again.
David:Dr.
David:Robert Jeffress.
David:Doctor, are you there with us?
Robert Jeffress:I'm here with you, David.
David:I'm so glad that you're here.
David:I got to ask you this question.
David:You know, I get a little fiery, especially when Christians are being accused of things that are false.
David:And that happens all the time, especially in the media.
David:And I think if you remember our very first time we ever talked, I told you how impressed I was with you that you are able to keep your spirit steady.
Robert Jeffress:I appreciate that so much.
Robert Jeffress:You're a good friend.
David:I appreciate that.
David:Here's the thing that drives me absolutely batty, which is where I need your help.
David:Now, I understand this situation with Tim Tebow.
David:He was gonna do a dedication for you.
David:He got a lot of pressure, apparently from the media.
David:The media accused you of being homophobic and anti Semitic, which for me, I mean, it was, I guess when I first heard it, I was overwhelmed.
David:First of all, anti Semitic is a person who discriminates against or is prejudice or hostile towards Jews.
David:You've been on my show now this is three time, and I'm as Jewish as they come.
Robert Jeffress:Yeah, well, David, I mean, the charge of anti Semitic comes from saying that everyone, including Jews, must trust in Christ in order to go to heaven.
Robert Jeffress:That is hardly anti Semitic.
Robert Jeffress:In fact, I have a Jewish friend in New York who called me this week.
Robert Jeffress:She's not a Christian, but she said, I don't understand all of this.
Robert Jeffress:Said, I don't believe in the New Testament, but you do.
Robert Jeffress:You're simply saying what the New Testament says.
Robert Jeffress:And you know, David, we've said before, you know, Jesus said, I'm the way, the truth and the life.
Robert Jeffress:No man comes to the Father but by me.
Robert Jeffress:And I remind people, Jesus was not a Southern Baptist evangelist.
Robert Jeffress:He was a Jewish rabbi.
Robert Jeffress:And yet you look at what he said, what the apostle Paul said, the apostle Peter.
Robert Jeffress:Here are the three most prominent men of the new testamen, every one of them a devout Jew.
Robert Jeffress:And yet they said there's one way to God, and that's through faith in Christ.
Robert Jeffress:That is not anti Semitic.
David:Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon experience.
David:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David:That's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David:Get ready.
David:What I'm gonna tell you for is a teaching that is going to be so challenging.
David:I've got two very important elements that we got to finish in this teaching, and it is just lights out, crazy, fantastic.
David:But first, answer this question from Luke, chapter 2, verse 9.
David:Luke, chapter 2, verse 9.
David:We just did Christmas.
David:I'm just assuming a lot of people read the Christmas story.
David:I know, Odd Couple.
David:You got to be careful.
David:Watch when you assume.
David:But here's your next trivia question.
David:When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds in the field in Bethlehem, initially, when the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds in Bethlehem, what was their initial first response?
David:Just the first thing.
David:When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds in the field of Bethlehem, what was their first response?
David:Luke2.9 Luke2.9 Excellent job, Joanne and Cordelia.
David:If you think you know, reach out to us.
David: -: David: -: David: -: David:Shouldn't take a lot to get there.
David:Luke 2.
David:9 When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds in the field of Bethlehem, what was their initial response?
David:Typically, maybe a response we would all have just being honest about it.
David:In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.
David:Let me say this.
David:Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah blah blah.
David:We paid rent.
David:Praise the Lord.
David:We need money.
David:Praise the Lord.
David:If you can help, that would be great.
David:Praise the Lord.
David:If you can't, that's great too.
David:Praise the Lord.
David:Please be in prayer for us.
David:Praise the Lord.
David:Check out Giving Opportunities.
David:Please consider it.
David:Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org Prayer request hemosincrease.org Praise report.
Jacob:He mustincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.
David:He mustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.
David:Hemustincrease.org Hemustincrease.org Hey Doc, we better back up.
David:We don't have enough roads to get up to 88.
David:Roads where we're going, we don't need roads.
David:That's right.
David:We don't need roads.
David:We have a road.
David:It's going to be gold.
David:We fell asleep there for a second.
David:Did you get caught off guard there?
David:I just thought I was going to just not jump into that that fast.
Jacob:You know, the V bar sometimes just says for me to play, press it three times.
David:You do have to love how old this equipment is though, right?
David:I mean, you know.
David:I mean, you know.
David: Do you ever see: David:The black obelisk thingy and then all of the cavemen are surrounding it right next to that.
David:To the right of that was that equipment.
Jacob:I knew that was coming.
Jacob:It was pretty funny.
David:All right, your trivia question then.
David:I'm jumping into the teaching.
David:I do actually have to do the history.
David:And then a joke I do have to do that, but I'm going to get this teaching.
David:First of all, when the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds in the field at Bethlehem, what was their initial response?
David:Luke 2.
David:9.
David:If you think, you know, I mean, how would you respond?
David:That's just a fair way to think of it.
David: -: David: -: David:Davidemasincrease.org okay, so we will do this.
David:Okay, let's do this one.
David:We'll have to do it.
David:Let's do history real fast.
David:Let's do that first.
David:And that'll be.
David:Let's go live in the past.
David:Let's go let bacon look past.
David:All right, Today is Bacon Day.
David:How can you go wrong with Bacon Day?
David:I had somebody complain when I did this and mention this in San Diego, saying that the smell of bacon really makes them sick.
David:So here's my answer, right?
David:Don't smell it.
David:What does that got to do with other people that want to enjoy Bacon Day?
David:Okay.
Jacob:And I love the smell of bacon.
David:I love the smell of bacon in the morning.
David:Okay.
David:All right.
David:Today is also.
David:Wait, you've never heard of this one?
David:This is brilliant.
David:Festival of Enormous Changes at the Last Minute Day.
David:Who makes this stuff up?
Jacob:That's a long title.
David:That's a Festival of Enormous Changes at the Last Minute Day.
David:I don't know.
David: re importantly than all that,: David:There you go.
David:Don't tell me that's not important.
David:All right?
David:I mean, that's big.
David:I remember.
David:Most of you remember.
David:We remember.
David:Let's see.
David:When the angel of the Lord first appeared to the shepherds in the field of Bethlehem, what was their first response?
David:Luke 2.
David:9.
David:If you think you know, reach out to us.
David:In the meantime, I want to go back to this teaching.
David:Listen to what happens.
David:So the argument broke out between Abram, the herdsmen of Abram, and the herdsmen of Lot.
David:At the same time, Canaanites and Perizzites were living in the land.
David:So then Abraham talked it over with Lot.
David:The arguing between our herdsmen has got to stop.
David:After all, we are close relatives.
David:Tell you what we'll do.
David:You take your choice of the section of the land you want and we'll separate.
David:Now, listen, before you get to that part, listen to this.
David:There's argument between Abraham's crew and Lot's crew, or Abraham's disciples and Lot's disciples.
David:Cool.
David:Abraham makes the approach.
David:He talks it over with Lot.
David:It would be nice if people that were in leadership positions could talk to one another.
David:That would be super nice, wouldn't it?
David:And he says this.
David:This arguing between our herdsmen has got to stop.
David:Wouldn't that be great if denominational people who are in charge of things say to one another, maybe all this arguing between all our disciples should stop anyway?
David:He says this, after all, we're close relatives.
David:Why is that important?
David:This is the thing that most people miss in this particular element.
David:We just said in the prior verse.
David:The same time Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land.
David:What does that got to do with Abraham telling Lot they've got to stop this?
David:What is it that Abraham's saying when he tells you?
David:When he says got to stop?
David:After all, we're close relatives.
David:What's the big deal?
David:What does all that mean?
David:It means this.
David:We're looking at a peek at some finely tuned family dynamics with the business that's coming between the tension of the families.
David:Abraham makes the point that because they're close relatives, they can't afford to have this kind of division.
David:Why?
David:Because the Canaanites and the Perizzites were also in the land.
David:In order to survive, they were going to need to stick together.
David:They could not afford a division because the Canaanites would go after them.
David:And they needed all of hall hands on deck to fight against the Canaanites.
David:Because the Perizzites would go after them and they needed all hands on deck.
David:They might have arguments amongst the family, but the reality is there were two groups of people that wanted to kill.
David:The Jewish people that Abraham and Lot's family didn't even yet understand.
David:They were Jews.
David:They just wanted to kill.
David:And the only way to survive it was to stay united.
David:And if that is not a lesson for the church, the church has lost its marbles.
David:We need to do an awareness check.
David:Understanding that your denomination may have a difference with another denomination, but Satan is trying to kill both.
David:That your group may have a different approach in some of the church elements as other groups, but the world is trying to kill both.
David:And that is where we have got to stick together.
David:You have to.
David:This is what the Lord calls for you and I.
David:He calls us to be united.
David:He calls us to have kingdom purpose.
David:Maybe there are different approaches.
David:There's 12 tribes, one Israel.
David:Guess what?
David:You have to fight together tribe with tribe.
David:It doesn't mean everybody in this one tribe does the same thing.
David:As the other tribe.
David:But it's one Israel.
David:Get a clue, go to the bank, take out a loan and buy a clue.
David:We cannot afford the division or they'll pick us off piece by piece.
David:Ben Franklin.
David:Not even a spiritual statement.
David:Simply said in the beginning of the revolution, we need to hang together.
David:Because if we don't hang together, we will certainly hang separately.
David:Like, there you go.
David:And the church needs to be smart enough to go.
David:Yeah, that's a good point.
David:Right?
David:We can't afford the division.
David:Abraham goes.
David:After all, we're close relatives.
David:That's how important the unity is with other believers, that's pretty important.
David:They would not survive except taking care of one another.
David:They can argue later, they can argue about a bunch of things, but they can't afford to be divided.
David:When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds in the field at Bethlehem, what was their initial response?
David:They were afraid.
David:They were terrified.
David:They were frightened.
David:Why?
David:You would be too if you were out there taking care of sheep and an angel popped up.
David:You got to think of it as this way.
David:It's not an R2D2 that said hello.
David:It was an angel of the most high God, a spokesman for the commander of the heavens.
David:That scare me, I think.
David:All right, folks, take a short break, then come back.
David:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David:Phenomenal teaching coming up.
David:Don't go anywhere.
David:The David Spoon Experience.
David:Philip shares the gospel in that gospel presentation is a proclamation about baptism.
David:No matter what anybody says.
David:That's just the reality of this text.
David:He gets baptized and the Holy Spirit catches Philip away and the eunuch never sees him again.
David:Does he go away miraculously?
David:You can't define it as an absolute, but it sure seems that way.
David:Doesn't matter because why the text says he never saw him again.
David:That's what the text says.
David:God will use people in your lives for a moment to make a change in your life and you will never see them or hear from them again.
David:That's what you got to recognize.
David:God will use you in people's lives for a one time encounter that will make that will accomplish that which the Lord desires to accomplish.
David:That will do.
David:Plant some form of seed that God has in mind and that's the intent and you'll never see him again.
David:You think, well, I don't know what the value of that was.
David:That's why divine appointments are divine appointments and not human evaluations.
David:Because God uses the most unique circumstances, even One time, one and done circumstances to plant seeds in people's lives throughout their journey on the Earth, to reach them and speak to them and to encourage them.
David:You getting that?
David:Sometimes God will bring somebody into your life, and it's just for a brief moment.
David:And that's the purpose and that's the intent.
David:You don't fully understand, nor do I, nor does any human being why the Lord has people cross paths the way he does.
David:But remember, he is God, and so he knows what person needs to have what encounter at what juncture in their life.
David:All of this is to say the Lord is the coordinator.
David:It wasn't Philip.
David:It wasn't the eunuch, so to speak.
David:I mean, it was a strategic placement of a Christian in a position to reach a secretary of the treasury in Ethiopia, to have a salvation opportunity.
David:And nobody could ever predict that.
David:But God set the whole thing up and then he's done.
David:It's so amazing because the scripture says he never saw Philip again.
David:That's it.
David:One and done.
David:See you, buddy.
David:God bless.
David:And it was all part of the plan of God.
David:Some people get saved in one church and then they end up going to another church shortly thereafter.
David:And that church is really instrumental in their growth, but not their decision.
David:Totally normal.
David:Nothing weird about that whatsoever.
David:You are normal.
David:It's normal because the Lord is in charge and he's not asking anybody's permission.
David:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.
David:That's KAMB Amen 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David:Your last trivia question.
David:Wow.
David:Psalm 34, verse 7.
David:Psalm 34.
David:7.
David:In Psalms, it tells us of something that the angel of the Lord does for those that fear him, and that those that encamp about them, the angels of the Lord do something for the people of God.
David:When we have this fear of the Lord, that's an honorable, respectful, righteous fear.
David:The angel of the Lord encamps about us.
David:And what Psalm 34, verse 7.
David:So the angel of the Lord encamps about those who fear him.
David:And there's another part to that.
David:You have to add that part in if you think you know.
David: -: David: -: David: -: David:Additionally, you can send an email davidemustincrease.org so it's very straightforward.
David:In Psalm, Psalm 34.
David:7 tells us something that the angel of the Lord does for those of us who fear him, the angel of the Lord encampeth about them.
David:And what does something very important.
David:Point to be made.
David:Okay, so I'm just giving you that one opportunity.
David:One opportunity.
David:Just leaving it right there.
David:Leaving it right there, Dave.
David:Leaving it right there.
David:Leaving it there, Dave.
David:Leaving it right there.
David:Thank you.
David:All right, so one thing we are going to do.
David:We are, in fact, going to do two quick jokes.
David:Then we'll take that person who's calling in.
David:But first, we got to do two quick jokes.
David:They are brilliant, but they are Jewish.
David:Well, one is Jewish, one is just funny.
David:Okay, here's your first one.
David:You want the funny one or the Jewish one first?
David:Doesn't matter.
David:What do you think?
David:You got to think of the funny or Jewish funny.
David:Okay.
David:The auntie was talking to little Joan, and the auntie said, when I was a child, I was told if I made an ugly face, I would stay that way.
David:Little Joan.
David:Well, you can't say you weren't warned.
David:That's brutal.
David:Isn't that brutal?
David:That's brutal.
David:Listen to this one, though.
David:Three Jewish mothers are sitting on a bench arguing over which one's son loves her the most.
David:The first one says, oh, you know, my son sends me flowers every Shabbat.
David:You call that love?
David:The second mother says, my son calls me almost every day.
David:That's nothing.
David:The third woman says, my son is in therapy five days a week, and the whole time he talks about me.
David:Fun.
David:All right, we do have somebody answered Trivia question.
David:Let's send them on through.
David:Knock, knock.
David:This is David.
David:Who am I talking to?
Joy Ann:Hi.
Joy Ann:Hi, Dr.
Joy Ann:David.
Joy Ann:The jokes are funny.
David:Ah, thank you, Joy Ann.
David:I appreciate that.
Joy Ann:This is that last one that left part.
David:I know.
David:That's awesome.
David:You ready for the Triv question?
Joy Ann:Yes, I have a great one.
David:Here we go.
David:In Psalms, it tells us something the angels of the Lord does for those that fear him.
David:They encampeth about those that fear him and what?
Joy Ann:And he delivereth them.
David:That is correct.
David:Amanda.
David:That's awesome.
David:Great job.
Joy Ann:I love it.
Joy Ann:Because one time I was memorizing, trying to memorize Psalm 34 because it's just one of the most coolest ever.
Joy Ann:And that verse popped into my mind when my husband and I were out in the wilderness and we had a car issue and we were out of phone range, and we had no way to call for help, and we were able to fix it by ourselves.
David:Wow.
Joy Ann:God is so good.
David:Yeah, that's pretty good right there.
David:That's pretty good right there.
David:Yay.
Joy Ann:Oh, listen, loving the show.
Joy Ann:Thank you so much.
Joy Ann:Happy New Year, Dr.
Joy Ann:David and everybody.
Joy Ann:We love you all so, so, so, so much.
David:All right.
Joy Ann:Thank you.
David:All right.
David:God bless you.
Joy Ann:Take care.
Joy Ann:Bye.
David:Bye.
David:All right, we'll close out with this.
David:Here it is, this last verse.
David:I love this.
David:You better catch this.
David:This is really nifty.
David:Abram talked it over with Lot.
David:This argument between our herdsmen has got to stop.
David:After all, we're close relatives.
David:I'll tell you what we'll do.
David:Take your choice of any section of the land you want and we'll separate.
David:If you want that area over there, I'll stay here.
David:If you want to stay in this area, then I'll move to another place.
David:High level of accommodation by Abraham, right?
David:You would agree, right?
David:I mean, it is, right?
David:Here's the key.
David:Abram steps back and offers Lot the choice to pick whatever direction he wants.
David:He tells him, if you stay here, I'll go there.
David:If I'll go over there, you stay here.
David:Whatever you want.
David:Abram did not have to do that, did he?
David:God made him the promise.
David:He didn't have to do that.
David:But offering to be accommodating on the behalf of somebody else at the sacrifice of your own is something that the Lord rewards, not compromising.
David:Abraham didn't compromise his faith.
David:Not watering it down.
David:He just said, look, there's a lot of land in this area.
David:Tell you what we're going to do.
David:You pick and I'll go the opposite direction.
David:If you want to stay here, I'll go.
David:If you want to go over there, I'll stay.
David:Tell me what works for you.
David:I want to bring about this peace between us.
David:We need that to maintain things.
David:The irony behind this is Abraham was certainly not required to do that, but did that trying to make it right before the Lord and keep that right sense of peace.
David:And of course, God honors Abram a thousand times.
David:And we know where Lot's going, we know what's going to happen, and that's a total disaster.
David:He didn't have to do it, Abram, but he did it.
David:And he was accommodating in that circumstance.
David:Not compromising.
David:And the Lord poured out the reward for him instead of, it's not compromising to say, you know what?
David:I will take the loss.
David:If it will be more beneficial for you to go that way than I'll go this way.
David:And he did that as a sacrifice unto the Lord to keep the peace.
David:And you know who rewarded him?
David:God.
David:Because when you think of Abraham.
David:And when you think of Lot, what comes to mind?
David:Abraham's the father of faith.
David:Lot didn't put a lot off so.
David:Well, not only his memory, but his position and his possessions were much greater.
David:Isn't that cool?
David:It's cool.
David:Come on.
David:All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David:22 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.
David:More insanity with spirnanity.
David:Talk to you then, just as I am.
David:He reached down and see me chase my freedom at the cost of his sin.
David:What else can I do but gladly serve him?
David:Give myself back?
David:The views expressed on the preceding program were those of the speakers and not necessarily those of kaam, DJRD Broadcasting or its sponsors.
