David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's fantastic, phenomenal, always fun, usually somewhat fascinating.

David Spoon:

Friday as we head into the weekend not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the seas, because our help comes from the Lord.

First, buckle up little campers, as we prepare for Dr.

David Spoon:

Dave's devotional Diamonds of the day.

David Spoon:

And we do have some doozies for yousies.

David Spoon:

There is always one key component to every situation.

David Spoon:

Did you know that?

David Spoon:

Now I know many of you are thinking, well, that must be being connected to the Lord.

David Spoon:

And you're correct.

David Spoon:

But the question is, how is it connected to the Lord?

David Spoon:

How do we connect to the Lord?

David Spoon:

Will examine the key to help us in every situation, which enables us to be peaceful, patient and persistent.

David Spoon:

Next, we haven't done a Bible baloney beatdown in a long time.

David Spoon:

So I'm going to have Jacob find that sound effect and we're going to do a Bible baloney beatdown about Satan.

David Spoon:

There are way too many rumors about the enemy and we have to get this right according to the word of God.

David Spoon:

And finally, our closing lesson for the week is something that I shared before, but it still pulls at my heart.

David Spoon:

I actually consider this a beautiful life giving word.

David Spoon:

We're going to jump into the book of Samuel and look at something that Samuel said in regard to the people failing and falling before the Lord.

David Spoon:

You would think off the top of your head that doesn't sound that encouraging, Dave, but you'd be wrong.

David Spoon:

It's one of the most encouraging words because we find out that that to God he always offers us a path of life.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

Top Cat.

David Spoon:

Remember that?

David Spoon:

Of professional radio.

David Spoon:

Ladies and gentlemen, are we on Jam and Jacob?

David Spoon:

Jam and Jacob is the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Professional radio.

Tom:

David, I don't want to make you feel old, but I don't know what that is.

Tom:

But no, we are not professional radio.

David Spoon:

Tom.

David Spoon:

Terrific.

David Spoon:

Do you remember Top Cat?

David Spoon:

Do you remember that?

David Spoon:

Do you remember?

David Spoon:

Yes.

Tom:

Yes, he does.

David Spoon:

Yeah, I already like Tom.

David Spoon:

Tom's on my side already.

David Spoon:

I'm just telling you right now, I'm.

Tom:

The one out of the loop.

David Spoon:

You are.

David Spoon:

I don't know who Top Cat is.

David Spoon:

Oh, my goodness.

David Spoon:

Okay, that's fine.

David Spoon:

I'll just ignore that.

David Spoon:

Looking forward to Monday anyway.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

Okay, so let's just move it on Top Cat.

David Spoon:

That's the number.

David Spoon:

Never mind.

David Spoon:

Bottom line is simply this.

David Spoon:

It's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

It's barely radio.

David Spoon:

It's barely two cans and a string.

David Spoon:

I've already made like nine mistakes.

David Spoon:

You guys probably didn't catch them.

David Spoon:

I catch them.

David Spoon:

Then I sit there and I smile and look at the Lord and go, why?

David Spoon:

Anyway, here it is.

David Spoon:

You have an input.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Now, I know you're afraid, and I can understand that.

David Spoon:

And sometimes we get.

David Spoon:

We get so many calls you can't keep up.

David Spoon:

And sometimes we don't get any.

David Spoon:

It doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

You go with what's on your heart.

David Spoon:

And here's the deal.

David Spoon:

You can email us during the show.

David Spoon:

Yeah, we get the.

David Spoon:

I get the email right in front of me, actually.

David Spoon:

It works really good.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

It works really good.

David Spoon:

I get emails and texts all in the same spot.

David Spoon:

Simple.

David Spoon:

David must increase dot org.

David Spoon:

That's David must increase dot org.

David Spoon:

You can text us.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

That's:

David Spoon:

Or.

David Spoon:

Or you can call us.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Talking to Jim and Jacob is like heading into the weekend.

David Spoon:

Hello.

Tom:

Thank you, David.

Tom:

Happy Friday.

David Spoon:

Happy Friday to you.

David Spoon:

I hope that it's going well with you and Tom.

David Spoon:

Terrific.

David Spoon:

I'm excited.

David Spoon:

Let him know he does not have to do a perfect job on Monday.

David Spoon:

Take that straight stress off of him right away.

David Spoon:

We just go with the flow, don't we?

David Spoon:

How many mistakes have we made?

David Spoon:

Do we make since we've been doing this?

David Spoon:

Since you've Been doing this with me.

Tom:

Oh, almost every day.

Tom:

Like.

Tom:

Like you said, we're not professional radio.

Tom:

We're just radio.

David Spoon:

We're just radio.

David Spoon:

That's all.

David Spoon:

It's radio.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

So everybody relax.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Take a deep breath.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

All right, so here's the deal.

David Spoon:

Why in the world would you text us?

David Spoon:

Why in the world would you call us?

David Spoon:

Why would you send us an email?

David Spoon:

Could be for a praise report.

David Spoon:

We love praise reports.

David Spoon:

They're cool.

David Spoon:

Could be for a prayer request.

David Spoon:

We actually like praying.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Well, we've been really blessed.

David Spoon:

We get a lot of prayers answered.

David Spoon:

Which is weird, right?

David Spoon:

Even percentage wise?

David Spoon:

We're those weird people that think, well, if you pray 100 times and three times there's answer, then pray a thousand times and then there'll be 30 answers.

David Spoon:

I mean, just like, what's the problem with that?

David Spoon:

Who doesn't get that?

David Spoon:

No, I don't do it perfectly like Jesus or the apostle.

David Spoon:

Anybody else?

David Spoon:

Neither do you.

David Spoon:

But we keep moving forward in the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's what we do, right?

David Spoon:

We do that.

David Spoon:

We do prayer.

David Spoon:

going on, our bent is Hebrews:

David Spoon:

Okay, let's do that.

David Spoon:

So we also do Bible trivia.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you can get this one.

David Spoon:

If you don't get this one, I'm taking my ball and I'm going home.

David Spoon:

Here it is.

David Spoon:

From Matthew:

David Spoon:

Who spoke of his desire to gather Jerusalem's children as a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings.

David Spoon:

Who spoke of his desire to gather Jerusalem's children as a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings.

David Spoon:

If you think you know, you are.

David Spoon:

We're getting all these texts and everything, you're still welcome to call as well.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or send an email.

David Spoon:

David must increase.org who spoke of his desire to gather Jerusalem's children as a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings.

David Spoon:

What actually is.

David Spoon:

What a beautiful imagery that really is.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, what are we going to do?

David Spoon:

We are pretty committed to this.

David Spoon:

We're going to do our DNA.

David Spoon:

So this is where Tom will have to rally.

David Spoon:

He'll have to really find out what we're doing here.

David Spoon:

This is a unique Thing for him.

David Spoon:

We'll see if I can get him through this while we're doing this with Jam and Jacob.

David Spoon:

D stands for draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

All right, now again, Every day that has a vowel.

David Spoon:

Okay, wait, no, wait.

David Spoon:

Again.

David Spoon:

Every day that ends in Y.

David Spoon:

All right, let's see.

David Spoon:

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

David Spoon:

Every day that ends in.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Well, there you go.

David Spoon:

Daily spend time with the Lord.

David Spoon:

How?

David Spoon:

Through prayer.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

How much time does God require you to pray?

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

How much time you should spend.

David Spoon:

You should get before the Lord and talk to him and ask him.

David Spoon:

How about that?

David Spoon:

Let him tell you.

David Spoon:

And then when you spend time in his word, it's called the Word of God.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because God speaking through it.

David Spoon:

So therefore, when you are engaged in the word of God, not reading, because it's a legalistic thing, reading to hear what God has to say, praying to share what's on your heart.

David Spoon:

Those are two elements of communication which are the essence of relationship.

David Spoon:

You're talking.

David Spoon:

God's talking.

David Spoon:

Back, back, back, back, back.

David Spoon:

That's what a relationship's all about.

David Spoon:

That's what the Lord wants.

David Spoon:

That's why Jesus said, depart from me.

David Spoon:

I never knew you.

David Spoon:

To people that said, we did this in your name and we did this in your name.

David Spoon:

Yeah, but I don't know who you are.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Okay, cool.

David Spoon:

D.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

N.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

The world is phenomenally excellent at trying to shame people who believe.

David Spoon:

Oh, I know.

David Spoon:

I know what they say.

David Spoon:

They've been saying, oh, those dumb, flat Earthers.

David Spoon:

It's funny because In Isaiah chapter 40, it says God sits on the circle of the earth.

David Spoon:

So if there were Bible Christians back then or Bible believing Jewish people, they would have said, no, the earth is round.

David Spoon:

Because, see, that was written a thousand years before any scientific discovery.

David Spoon:

Actually, it was:

David Spoon:

And it just tells you.

David Spoon:

It's like, it's not the way they say it is.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

He knows what he's doing.

David Spoon:

Here it is.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

Challenge this if you can.

David Spoon:

If you believe God created the universe, if you believe God created the universe, then you can probably step out on a limb and say, he might be able to write a book.

David Spoon:

Well, that's.

David Spoon:

He created the universe.

David Spoon:

The dude can write a book.

David Spoon:

I wrote a book.

David Spoon:

You tell me I can do something God can't do.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

Ridiculous.

David Spoon:

Just trying to make that point as clear as possible.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus words.

David Spoon:

God knows how to write a book.

David Spoon:

Leave it there, and then A.

David Spoon:

Always be ready.

Tom:

To serve.

David Spoon:

Always ready.

David Spoon:

So you draw closer to the Lord because everything flows from your relationship with the Lord, number one.

David Spoon:

Number two, you're never ashamed what God has to say.

David Spoon:

And number three, you're ready to serve.

David Spoon:

In Luke chapter 12, four times in five verses, it says, be ready, be ready, be ready, be ready.

David Spoon:

49 times in the New Testament, it mentions being ready.

David Spoon:

Here's a really good idea.

David Spoon:

We should be ready.

David Spoon:

Ready.

David Spoon:

On your mark, get set, go.

David Spoon:

Well, that ready part, that's what we need to be in, the ready part.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

D.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A.

David Spoon:

Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

That is our DNA.

David Spoon:

It's not the only DNA, but it is our DNA.

David Spoon:

Okay, fair enough.

David Spoon:

All right, so the trivia question is, who spoke of his desire to gather Jerusalem's children as a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings?

David Spoon:

Do we have somebody that wants to respond to that?

David Spoon:

We do, so let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

David Spoon:

Hey, David, this is John again.

David Spoon:

Hi, John.

David Spoon:

How are you?

David Spoon:

That's so nice to have you call again.

David Spoon:

I love it, brother.

David Spoon:

It's so good to hear your voice.

David Spoon:

I do.

David Spoon:

I really think it's great.

David Spoon:

Oh, thanks.

David Spoon:

You're welcome, brother.

David Spoon:

You are absolutely welcome.

David Spoon:

Are you ready for this Triv question?

David Spoon:

I'm going to take a shot at it.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

According to Matthew:

David Spoon:

Who said that?

David Spoon:

Was it Jesus?

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

It is Jesus.

David Spoon:

And all these people are like, look, Jesus wants this closeness thing.

David Spoon:

And it's like.

David Spoon:

People are like, no, this is a.

David Spoon:

This is what makes it so weird, a religion.

David Spoon:

You are missing the whole point.

David Spoon:

He wants to be so close to you.

David Spoon:

It's like a mother hen putting her wing around her children.

David Spoon:

It's like.

David Spoon:

That is so beautiful.

Speaker B:

That's a good image, isn't it?

David Spoon:

Yeah, it really is a good image.

David Spoon:

It really is.

David Spoon:

You're right.

David Spoon:

It's phenomenal.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

David Spoon:

Well, now you can keep your ball and stay.

David Spoon:

Stay at work that you don't have to go home.

David Spoon:

Thank you, John.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna stay here and finish the show.

David Spoon:

Just because.

David Spoon:

I'm just kidding, right?

David Spoon:

Yeah, Just because of that.

David Spoon:

Love you, brother.

David Spoon:

Excellent job, by the way.

David Spoon:

Thanks, David.

David Spoon:

All right.

Tom:

God bless Jacob, too.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

That's fun.

David Spoon:

All right, so we're gonna do this teaching now.

David Spoon:

Wait, I might get all these teachings in.

David Spoon:

This could be really cool.

David Spoon:

So listen.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

This is super important, and I'm going to make it.

David Spoon:

It's a short but very, very potent communication.

David Spoon:

Okay, I've got two verses in 1st Samuel 9.

David Spoon:

All right, all right.

David Spoon:

I will quickly remind you that Job is an excellent reference to this.

David Spoon:

Let's just.

David Spoon:

I'm going to read it, and I want you to catch it.

David Spoon:

And maybe.

David Spoon:

Maybe you can see that there's a little humor in this.

David Spoon:

I don't know if you will or not.

David Spoon:

First Samuel 9.

David Spoon:

3.

David Spoon:

Now, the donkeys belonging to Saul's father Kish, were lost.

David Spoon:

And Kish said to his son Saul, take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys.

David Spoon:

So what happened?

David Spoon:

Well, some people have speculated that Saul somehow lost the donkeys.

David Spoon:

We don't know if that's true or not, but what did happen is the donkeys that belonged to Saul's father got lost.

David Spoon:

So Kish, Saul's father, said, hey, hey, hey, take one of the servants with you and go and find them donkeys.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

That is the human perspective.

David Spoon:

You can't say it any other way.

David Spoon:

There's nothing else to say.

David Spoon:

Dude lost his donkeys, tells his kid to take a servant and find the donkeys.

David Spoon:

Got it.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Simple.

David Spoon:

Dude was looking for donkeys.

David Spoon:

Got it.

David Spoon:

Verse 16, same chapter.

David Spoon:

About this time tomorrow, God spoke.

David Spoon:

I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin.

David Spoon:

Anoint him leader over my people, Israel.

David Spoon:

He will deliver my people from the hand of the Philistines.

David Spoon:

This is God speaking to Samuel.

David Spoon:

So with Kish and Saul, Kish says, okay, donkeys have made a beeline out, and you go find them, take a servant and locate them.

David Spoon:

That's the human perspective.

David Spoon:

From the divine perspective, God tells Samuel, hey, I'm sending you a king.

David Spoon:

Now, I want you to see that difference.

David Spoon:

On one hand, it's the donkeys are lost.

David Spoon:

On the other hand, it's, I'm sending you a king.

David Spoon:

We have to always remember.

David Spoon:

Oh, it's hard, isn't it?

David Spoon:

Always remember.

David Spoon:

It's difficult.

David Spoon:

That there is a divine perspective as well as a human perspective.

David Spoon:

You see this thing that you've gone through or this experience, whatever, as this loss or this hard suffering trial or this difficult time.

David Spoon:

But that's not.

David Spoon:

That does not necessitate how God sees it.

David Spoon:

And I don't know if I should say this or not.

David Spoon:

Okay, I'll say it God's perspective is most likely better, don't you think, than our perspective, the human perspective.

David Spoon:

The donkeys are gone.

David Spoon:

God's perspective gonna send you a king.

David Spoon:

Those aren't even in the same plane.

David Spoon:

They're not even in the same realm.

David Spoon:

But God's perspective is what prevails.

David Spoon:

So when you're stuck in something and it looks like the donkeys are gone, take a moment and ask the Lord to help you with your perspective.

David Spoon:

Had Job done that it might have been a little bit different between chapter three and chapter 32, but who knows?

David Spoon:

All right, we'll take our break and good on that.

David Spoon:

We are exiting here.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM770 the truth stationary in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker B:

The Christian faith is being attacked.

Speaker B:

Fifty years ago, people would disagree with Christianity, but with a sense of respect, those days are over.

Speaker B:

The rage, the flesh the enemy.

Speaker B:

And the atmosphere of sin is growing and growing.

Speaker B:

Jesus said in Matthew 24, the love of many will grow cold.

Speaker B:

And if it's not the end now, it's certainly a lot closer than it was yesterday.

Speaker B:

You may be from a Baptist background.

Speaker B:

David Spoon has that.

Speaker B:

You may have a Pentecostal background.

Speaker B:

He has that too.

Speaker B:

You may have a non denominational background.

Speaker B:

Yep, he's got that as well.

Speaker B:

You may be from the Church of Christ, Presbyterian Methodist Church of God or some other denomination.

Speaker B:

But if you're looking for a show that's Bible based, spirit led and a bit nutty, give David a listen for a while.

Speaker B:

If you like it, great.

Speaker B:

If not, no worries.

Speaker B:

The David Spoon Experience.

Jacob:

It's incredible and it's never been done before.

Jacob:

And you can be the first person in your neighborhood to win.

David Spoon:

What is it?

Jacob:

It's a contest.

David Spoon:

How do I play?

Jacob:

It's simple and there's three ways to win.

Jacob:

You can go to Facebook, type in David Spoon Media and on any Facebook post, type in the word Jesus in the comments section and it's free.

Jacob:

You can also send an email to davidspoon mediamail.com and write the word Jesus in the subject line.

Jacob:

Or you can go to YouTube and give a comment on any video.

Jacob:

But you have to use the word Jesus.

Jacob:

This is your chance to win and it's free.

Jacob:

What do I win?

Jacob:

You can win 100 thank yous right on air.

Jacob:

It's incredible.

Jacob:

It's unbelievable.

Jacob:

But it's only for a limited time.

Jacob:

Enter now.

Jacob:

Here's a taste.

Jacob:

Thank you for listening to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

But, Jamir, are you there with us?

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Do you think you have an answer on how many days between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the ascension?

Jamerri:

Is it 40 days?

David Spoon:

That is correct, sir.

David Spoon:

You are a winner.

David Spoon:

Very nice.

David Spoon:

Did you have to look it up, Jamerri?

Jamerri:

Did you know, the funny thing is I was reading this book, the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, and then it was just talking about how God, like, transforms a lot of people's lives in 40 days, you know, and that happened to be one of the things that he was speaking about.

Jamerri:

So that was funny.

Jamerri:

I had just read that today, too.

David Spoon:

Wow, great timing.

Jamerri:

It taught me something.

Jamerri:

It taught me something, too.

Jamerri:

So it's funny how you just spoke about it on the radio show, so I just had to call in, man.

Jamerri:

I always listen.

David Spoon:

So the trivia question actually had a meaning for you?

Jamerri:

It did.

Jamerri:

And now that just pushes me to, like, be more into also my Bible, because if I was, like, I should have known that, you know what I'm saying?

Jamerri:

But that taught me something.

Jamerri:

I thank you for at least having that question, because there's a lot of people who didn't know that.

Jamerri:

So you're still teaching a lot of people.

Jamerri:

So thank you.

David Spoon:

The David spoon experience on 770, Kaam.

David Spoon:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's KAAM 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Phenomenal job, Tom.

David Spoon:

Excellent work right there.

David Spoon:

That's the way to do it.

David Spoon:

Perfect.

David Spoon:

Okay, we're getting ready for our next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Ooh, can I say that to you?

David Spoon:

Oo, you're probably going.

David Spoon:

Why are you having so much fun?

David Spoon:

Oo, here we go.

David Spoon:

Who wrote these words?

David Spoon:

Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee?

David Spoon:

Psalm 119, verse 11.

David Spoon:

Who wrote this word?

David Spoon:

Thy word I have hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

David Spoon:

Hey, here's a great way not to sin against the Lord.

David Spoon:

Keep his word in your heart.

David Spoon:

But who wrote that?

David Spoon:

Psalm 119.

David Spoon:

Actually, verse 11.

David Spoon:

If you think you know, you are welcome to call us.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

David must increase.org who wrote thy word?

David Spoon:

Have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

David Spoon:

And there's a little bit more, actually.

David Spoon:

Blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me thy statutes.

David Spoon:

With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

David Spoon:

Who wrote that?

David Spoon:

Psalm 119, actually, verses 11 through 16.

David Spoon:

But you can pretty much figure it out.

David Spoon:

It's Psalm 119, can't you?

David Spoon:

Okay, cool.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

So if you know that, you are welcome to reach out to us and give you that opportunity there.

David Spoon:

I've got this other teaching, and it's really a fascinating type of teaching.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

So we will forego the history until, like, the next segment.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Like, over.

David Spoon:

So just so you can know, this is something that I want to talk to you about.

David Spoon:

So this is an important part of our walk.

David Spoon:

In our walk, there seems to be.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

When I first started radio 12 and a half years ago, okay.

David Spoon:

So I'm very short to radio, but I've done a lot of it in a compact 12 years, okay.

David Spoon:

And I've done almost 3,000 shows in that time.

David Spoon:

Here's something that they told me the first month of radio.

David Spoon:

They said, never lose an argument on the error.

David Spoon:

That's what they said.

David Spoon:

And I always thought that was weird because that means that I always have to come off as right.

David Spoon:

And so even yesterday when Sergio asked a question, I wasn't sure directly of the answer because it kind of slipped my brain.

David Spoon:

It's like, look, you're not always right.

David Spoon:

And what we do when we talk to people is we always think we're right and we always going to take that position.

David Spoon:

And so something that I came across that I have taught before, but haven't taught much on this in Texas.

David Spoon:

And so I want to teach it again, is this one thing about our conversations, and I'm talking about our conversations that we have people with people who are relatives who are not believers, okay?

David Spoon:

Or friends, children, parents, brothers, sisters, whatever.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

So I was chatting with somebody a while back.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to say who it is or get into that part, but this person is a very.

David Spoon:

Takes the opposite position of me, politically, spiritually, every possible way.

David Spoon:

They think that NPR is the greatest thing ever.

David Spoon:

You know, I, you know, I don't have that.

David Spoon:

I don't share that value.

David Spoon:

Kind of think NPR is more like nauseating propaganda radio.

David Spoon:

But, you know, it doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

In that process, I said something to this relative that completely caught this relative off guard instead of trying to win the argument because they don't use the Bible as their.

David Spoon:

As their authority.

David Spoon:

So it becomes ridiculous, right?

David Spoon:

I said to this particular relative that I was.

David Spoon:

I don't care about their politics or their spiritual positions.

David Spoon:

I was going to pray for that relative every day.

David Spoon:

And that compared to my love for them, that was much more important than me winning an argument.

David Spoon:

And I was going to pray this prayer.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

I told this relative, I'm going to pray that you have an encounter with God and that the greatness of the most High God would penetrate your heart and that the love that God has for you is something you would discover and that you would discover the genuineness of God himself and not operate in these other things.

David Spoon:

I'm going to pray that you have an encounter with God.

David Spoon:

Do you know what that relative said?

David Spoon:

I don't know how to respond to that.

David Spoon:

That's what the relative said.

David Spoon:

Here was my response to that.

David Spoon:

I don't care because I'm just going to keep praying this way.

David Spoon:

That ended the discussion in that realm.

David Spoon:

What I want to bring out is apparently this approach may be just as good, if not better than arguing because there was nothing that could be said.

David Spoon:

I'm praying that this person has an encounter with God.

David Spoon:

They're not even opposed to that.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to sit there and just win on point.

David Spoon:

Oh, well, the Bible says, as the Bible says they don't believe in.

David Spoon:

The Bible is the word of God.

David Spoon:

Wait till God gets ahold of them.

David Spoon:

Wait till God opens up their heart and mind.

David Spoon:

Let's see what happens.

David Spoon:

But I'm just going to pray that God gets ahold of them.

David Spoon:

I wasn't praying that God would ruin their life.

David Spoon:

I just praying that God would.

David Spoon:

They would have an encounter with God.

David Spoon:

So instead of like when you get into these arguments with certain relatives and you understand and you already know, and this is for those of us who have been through this a little bit, you already know it's not going to.

David Spoon:

They're not going to pay any attention to you.

David Spoon:

It's not going to be this.

David Spoon:

Then don't approach it that way.

David Spoon:

Use a different tactic.

David Spoon:

Just tell them, I want to pray for you that you have an encounter with God.

David Spoon:

And no matter what you say to me, it doesn't even matter.

David Spoon:

I'm just going to pray that God challenges you, has an encounter with you and changes your life.

David Spoon:

That approach, by the way, is less arrogant, less prideful.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

I mean, just imagine it's like what the response is supposed to be out of that.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Like that's the big, deep theological response they're going to give you.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Like, it's like, wow, just Instead of.

David Spoon:

And you can even say it directly to them.

David Spoon:

I'm not even kidding you.

David Spoon:

Just.

David Spoon:

We should probably think a little bit more in these ways, because people are like, just keep shooting Bible bullets.

David Spoon:

Keep shooting Bible bullets.

David Spoon:

Well, the Bible's not supposed to be.

David Spoon:

So you can be shooting bullets in it.

David Spoon:

That's just not the purpose.

David Spoon:

The truth is to set people free, not shoot them.

David Spoon:

And so the idea is, you know what?

David Spoon:

I hope God just grabs your heart.

David Spoon:

You have an encounter with God, what else are you going to do?

David Spoon:

You can't change.

David Spoon:

Whoa.

David Spoon:

I'm just going to pray God gets a hold of you.

David Spoon:

It's like, wait a minute.

David Spoon:

There's no argument there.

David Spoon:

There's nothing to argue.

David Spoon:

It's not an argument.

David Spoon:

If it happens, they'll know.

David Spoon:

If it happens, God will be involved.

David Spoon:

Will it happen?

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

That's why we pray.

David Spoon:

We ask.

David Spoon:

Ask and you will receive.

David Spoon:

Seek and you shall find.

David Spoon:

Knock and it shall be open to you.

David Spoon:

This is what we're supposed to be functioning in.

David Spoon:

It's not just a matter of winning the argument.

David Spoon:

Sometimes it's a matter of understanding.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

God reigns supreme.

David Spoon:

Let's just let the supreme God just get ahold of you.

David Spoon:

Then we'll see what happens.

David Spoon:

Then we'll talk.

David Spoon:

Maybe that's a different tactic for some of us.

David Spoon:

And I know that's kind of weird to say it, but it might be a better tactic than trying to just win the argument.

David Spoon:

You have to always be right.

David Spoon:

No, you don't.

David Spoon:

In fact, you're not always right.

David Spoon:

You already know you're not always right.

David Spoon:

And I've taught to theologians who have 50 years of theological teachings, and they know they're not always right because we're always growing.

David Spoon:

But to pray that a person has an encounter with God, not a lot of argument that goes against that.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

In regards to the trivia question.

David Spoon:

So we have this little thing.

David Spoon:

Tom won't probably get into this, but Jacob and I have this thing where we throw a pink ping pong ball.

Tom:

I actually explained it to him.

David Spoon:

Did you really?

David Spoon:

Okay, see, and Jacob doesn't even.

David Spoon:

I don't remember.

David Spoon:

I told you the joke on the ping ping pong.

David Spoon:

Did I ever tell you the joke?

Tom:

Maybe.

Tom:

Maybe when I first started.

Tom:

I don't really remember it.

David Spoon:

Okay, well, that's okay.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to get the ping pong ball tossed at me because I'm going to tell you what the trivia question and answer is.

David Spoon:

The question was, who wrote the words Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against you.

David Spoon:

Psalm 119, verse 11 through 16.

David Spoon:

The answer is King David wrote the words, thy word have I hid in my heart so I might not sin against you.

David Spoon:

What a brilliant idea.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, we'll take our break and then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

Most of my life, it feels like I've been running, running and running.

David Spoon:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Psalm 46, verse 1 through 3.

David Spoon:

This was the first psalm that was read to me when I went to Bible college, the very first class I ever took in Bible college a bazillion years ago.

David Spoon:

Let me just say that.

David Spoon:

Psalm 46:1 3.

David Spoon:

God is our refuge and strength, and ever present help in trouble, therefore we will not fear.

David Spoon:

Though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their suffering.

David Spoon:

Here is something to consider that will be just absolutely a mind blower.

David Spoon:

How should you and I respond if the earth falls out of its rotation?

David Spoon:

Okay, so my brother in law works for JPL and is actually one of the people that helped write the program that helped land the Mars rover on Mars.

David Spoon:

He helped write the computer programming.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

He's much smarter than me in those realms.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

About my age, a little younger, about my age.

David Spoon:

Very, very intelligent guy, right.

David Spoon:

And he's the one I always make a joke, what keeps the Earth rotating.

David Spoon:

And so you'll hear me say that it's on a perfect 23 and a half degree rotation from the moon and from the exact rotation from the sun.

David Spoon:

Or it's three mice chasing a piece of cheese and a wheel, one of those two.

David Spoon:

So the idea behind that and that whole story is the Earth is in this absolutely perfect rotation with the moon and the sun.

David Spoon:

And without it, the Earth would go through a free fall, just even a half a degree off.

David Spoon:

It's over.

David Spoon:

It's all over.

David Spoon:

I mean, there would be instant tidal waves.

David Spoon:

Everything would just be upside down.

David Spoon:

And if that ever happened, you would know that's the end.

David Spoon:

Although that's not how the end is going to happen.

David Spoon:

We already know from Scripture.

David Spoon:

But here's what the psalmist is saying.

David Spoon:

It doesn't matter how bad it gets.

David Spoon:

It doesn't matter if your world seems like it's upside down, it doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

If it's out of rotation, it doesn't matter if the mountains fall into the sea, it doesn't matter if the waters roar.

David Spoon:

God is a refuge and a refuge is a shelter in a storm.

David Spoon:

You would first think of a lean to.

David Spoon:

That is what a shelter in a storm is.

David Spoon:

So when it's raining, you find a lean to.

David Spoon:

You put something on a tree, you put it against something else and you get under it so you're away from that.

David Spoon:

And it says that God is a refuge, a strength, an ever present help, which means he's helpful today, not just when it's all settled in eternity.

David Spoon:

And there lies the problem for some Christians is they keep thinking, well, in the sweet by and by, everything will get worked out.

David Spoon:

Well, that is true, that everything will be completely worked out in the sweet by and by.

David Spoon:

But God is an ever present help, which means for today and not just for tomorrow.

David Spoon:

And then the position of the psalmist is therefore, therefore, therefore.

David Spoon:

In other words, it's a conclusion.

David Spoon:

So God is our refuge and strength.

David Spoon:

Okay, so he's our lean to in a storm.

David Spoon:

He's our ever present help.

David Spoon:

Therefore I don't have to be afraid.

David Spoon:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 7, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's K double Amen 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

We're gonna start this segment off by praying for Angelina and Rosalyn and Robert.

David Spoon:

They're going through a real tough time and Angelina's really struggling.

David Spoon:

So just take a moment, take your faith.

David Spoon:

Now, listen, if you're driving, don't close your eyes, but take your faith and mix it with mine.

David Spoon:

We'll bring it before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now and we thank you and we praise you for everything because you are worthy of praise.

David Spoon:

Praise and your mercy and your grace are way past us, Lord, and we so appreciate it.

David Spoon:

And Lord, we're lifting up Angelina to you right now.

David Spoon:

She's really having a hard time.

David Spoon:

Lord, will you please, in your graciousness, the family is surrounding and they're all participating.

David Spoon:

We're asking you to just breathe upon her and give her such a great sense of comfort.

David Spoon:

Let this not be this uncomfortable, horrible, draining time and for Rosalyn and Robert and their families, that they would have pleased plenty of energy that comes from you.

David Spoon:

They would not be, you know, wiped out so quickly, but that you would give them a refreshing and a renewing and pour your healing touch on Angelina.

David Spoon:

She needs help, Lord, if you're going to.

David Spoon:

If you're going to call her home, fine.

David Spoon:

But Lord, if not, let's just bring her to that place where she finds the healing.

David Spoon:

She loves you, Lord.

David Spoon:

Pour your love upon her and protect the family and everybody involved.

David Spoon:

We lift them up before you in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

And amen.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Just wanted to pray for them.

David Spoon:

I just got an update from Rosalind, so I wanted everybody to stay on top of that.

David Spoon:

Here is your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

When Moses was commanded to build pillars according to the number of the tribes of Israel, how many pillars did he end up building?

David Spoon:

He built an altar underneath the hill and he was told to do X amount of pillars for the tribes of Israel.

David Spoon:

How many tribes?

David Spoon:

Exodus 24.

David Spoon:

3:4.

David Spoon:

Exodus 24, 3:4.

David Spoon:

Listen to what I'm saying.

David Spoon:

He was told to build under the altar these pillars for the tribes of Israel.

David Spoon:

How many tribes?

David Spoon:

Exodus 24, 3, 4.

David Spoon:

Not a trick question.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I'm just telling you right now.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email, david.org so I'm going to send you up to the website and I'm simply just going to say this.

David Spoon:

This is December 13th.

David Spoon:

In the next 18 days.

David Spoon:

19 days is the toughest time for us financially.

David Spoon:

So if you're able to give, please do.

David Spoon:

We're not gonna give you a Lamborghini or a donut or a Yo yo or a whistle.

David Spoon:

We'll give you a receipt at the end of the year.

David Spoon:

That's tax deductible.

David Spoon:

But you still have to work that out with your accountant.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

All right, that's it.

David Spoon:

Check it out on the website.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org Prayer Request EMU Praise Report.

David Spoon:

Emuustincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

Emailsincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org he must increase.org yeah.

David Spoon:

Oh, sorry.

David Spoon:

I thought I was going on concert tour.

David Spoon:

Sorry.

David Spoon:

Okay, so your trivia question is pretty straightforward.

David Spoon:

Listen, Moses was asked or not asked, he was told to build pillars.

David Spoon:

So many pillars for the tribes of Israel, how many was he told to build?

David Spoon:

Exodus 24, 3, 4.

David Spoon:

Very specific answer.

David Spoon:

Okay, Okay.

David Spoon:

I can't give you any More hints on that.

David Spoon:

You guys kind of.

David Spoon:

You kind of gotta know that.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Before we.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

He must increase.org and no, I don't take a breath.

David Spoon:

We are going to do history, so we're going to give history a roll.

David Spoon:

Let's go live in the past.

David Spoon:

Let's go.

David Spoon:

Let fake him the past.

David Spoon:

I just want to say Tom's doing an excellent job.

David Spoon:

I'm just saying this is.

Tom:

He's getting it down quickly.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Phenomenal.

David Spoon:

All right, here's your history for today.

David Spoon:

Today, in theory.

David Spoon:

What does that mean?

David Spoon:

That means maybe it's supposed to be National Cocoa Day or National Hot Chocolate Day.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Got no problems with that.

David Spoon:

In fact, I drank hot chocolate when I was kid.

David Spoon:

Did you drink a lot when you were younger?

David Spoon:

That's when I drink more.

David Spoon:

I mean, now it's tea and coffee, but back then, when I was six, it was hot chocolate.

David Spoon:

Right?

Tom:

Yeah.

Tom:

I've never drank hot chocolate a ton, but it was definitely when I was younger.

Tom:

And it's the perfect weather for it.

Tom:

Right?

Tom:

It's freezing outside.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Exactly Correct.

David Spoon:

Also, in fear, it is supposed to be ice cream day.

David Spoon:

I don't think anybody in the world can argue with that.

David Spoon:

And everybody that sells ice cream should just give away free ice creams today.

David Spoon:

That probably won't happen, but I still think they should.

David Spoon:

Okay, glad share that.

David Spoon:

Here's two very other very interesting things.

David Spoon:

ed States here on this day in:

David Spoon:

1759.

David Spoon:

th,:

David Spoon:

I'm gonna go.

David Spoon:

They didn't have a synthesizer and probably not an electric guitar.

David Spoon:

Or.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna go with.

David Spoon:

They might have had a tambourine, but not the way we think of it.

Tom:

Yeah.

Tom:

It definitely wasn't a guitar center.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I'm just bringing that up.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

then the most weird thing is:

David Spoon:

So 123 years ago today, the first use of a telephone to capture a felon in the United States.

David Spoon:

Kid Curry of the Wild Bunch Gang is arrested after a Tennessee merchant spotted him and called the police.

David Spoon:

How about that?

David Spoon:

That's pretty amazing, right?

David Spoon:

That's pretty cool.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

That's history Nice job.

David Spoon:

All right, you're last on your trivia and then we're going to do our Bible Baloney Beat down your question.

David Spoon:

Lord told Moses to build X amount of pillars for the tribes of Israel.

David Spoon:

How many tribes?

David Spoon:

Exodus 24.

David Spoon:

3.

David Spoon:

4, if you think you know.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, short and sweet, we're going to do.

David Spoon:

And you guys haven't heard this for a while, but this is wonderful.

David Spoon:

Bible Baloney Beatdown.

David Spoon:

Bible Baloney Beatdown.

David Spoon:

Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello.

David Spoon:

It's now time for David Spoon's Bible Baloney Beatdown.

David Spoon:

Bible Baloney Beatdown.

David Spoon:

I'll knock your brains out if you had any.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

How about.

David Spoon:

I mean, how genius is that?

David Spoon:

That is genius.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

Luke, chapter 22, verse 31.

David Spoon:

Okay, I just want to make sure we stay in the right place here.

David Spoon:

Simon, Simon.

David Spoon:

Jesus said, look out.

David Spoon:

Satan has asked to sift you like wheat.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Okay, what do I want to talk about?

David Spoon:

The enemy.

David Spoon:

But I want to do a Bible baloney beatdown for this.

David Spoon:

Let me just say it in the nicest possible way.

David Spoon:

The dude has to ask permission to attack us.

David Spoon:

I just want you to catch what I'm trying to say.

David Spoon:

He had to ask permission to touch Job.

David Spoon:

Well, that's the Old Testament.

David Spoon:

He had to ask permission to touch Peter.

David Spoon:

That's the reality.

David Spoon:

He has to ask permission.

David Spoon:

I always find it amazing that people that talk about, well, the Satanists are doing this and the Satanists are doing this.

David Spoon:

Satan can't even leave Earth without God's permission.

David Spoon:

He's nobody in charge of nothing.

David Spoon:

He might be the worst of the worst, of the bad of the bad, but under God, it's not the same.

David Spoon:

He has to ask permission to attack us.

David Spoon:

He has to ask permission to go places.

David Spoon:

That's just how it goes.

David Spoon:

He is the accuser of the brethren.

David Spoon:

What does that mean?

David Spoon:

That means that what he operates under are accusations.

David Spoon:

Well, who does he accuse?

David Spoon:

Everybody next to you.

David Spoon:

And then you.

David Spoon:

Every time you assume somebody has a less than great purpose you can count on, Satan's not far behind.

David Spoon:

Sometimes it seems warranted, sometimes it's unwarranted, but he always puts it there.

David Spoon:

And by the way, I want to point this out.

David Spoon:

He has limits.

David Spoon:

What do you mean he has limits, Dave?

David Spoon:

Well, he had asked permission to do certain things.

David Spoon:

He couldn't even touch Job unless God gave him permission.

David Spoon:

Which unfortunately, in that situation, God did give him permission.

David Spoon:

But my point is, he couldn't even touch him.

David Spoon:

But he cannot steal your prayers.

David Spoon:

I just Want to point this out?

David Spoon:

This is a big teaching in the church for a couple of years.

David Spoon:

Satan can steal your prayers.

David Spoon:

That's ridiculous.

David Spoon:

There's no scriptural proof that he could steal your prayers.

David Spoon:

If he could steal your prayers, nobody would be saved.

David Spoon:

Then the same group has gone, well, except for that prayer.

David Spoon:

Okay, stop that.

David Spoon:

The only way that Satan can stop prayer is by distracting us or discouraging us from praying.

David Spoon:

That's how he stops it.

David Spoon:

He can't do anything else.

David Spoon:

He can't stop your prayer going to God.

David Spoon:

He can't.

David Spoon:

Unless he just distracts you so you don't pray.

David Spoon:

So let's not give him more credit than he deserves.

David Spoon:

He is not on God's level.

David Spoon:

It is not Satan versus God.

David Spoon:

Like, you know, it's like the war of the gargantuans, and there's two gargantuans and they're the exact same.

David Spoon:

It's like.

David Spoon:

No, it's not.

David Spoon:

That's ridiculous.

David Spoon:

The guy is.

David Spoon:

Or the dude.

David Spoon:

The dude is not on God's level.

David Spoon:

He was thrown out of heaven by Michael the Archangel, not by God.

David Spoon:

God didn't even get up.

David Spoon:

God just like, all right, Michael, toss him.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

Great.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

Do you understand that difference?

David Spoon:

So what I'm trying to say is don't let the enemy come off bigger than he is.

David Spoon:

Oh, he's around.

David Spoon:

He's doing stuff.

David Spoon:

He's been around for a long time.

David Spoon:

He knows how to tell people he's not around.

David Spoon:

He's been doing that for a long time.

David Spoon:

But don't compare God directly to Satan, because that is, there is nobody anywhere in all of the universe or multiverse that compares to God.

David Spoon:

If you're one of the people that love the alien ideas or so on and so forth, then just think of the most powerful, strongest, wisest, most thoroughly pure alien ever.

David Spoon:

And everybody else is in second.

David Spoon:

That'll help you.

David Spoon:

But let's not put the enemy.

David Spoon:

Let's not put Satan at the same level that God is.

David Spoon:

That's ridiculous.

David Spoon:

God is far superior to every and any and all, forever and ever.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

How many, in fact, pillars did Moses set up?

David Spoon:

Is the trivia question.

David Spoon:

And the answer is 12.

David Spoon:

12 pillars for 12 tribes.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

We'll take a short break, then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

We'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

Cowpunchsites.com let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the cross scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

David Spoon:

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

David Spoon:

Do you know how you keep going?

David Spoon:

Do you know how you keep putting one foot in front of the other?

David Spoon:

Do you know how you don't give up?

David Spoon:

Do you know how you don't quit even though you want to quit?

David Spoon:

You fix your eyes on Jesus.

David Spoon:

You see with God.

David Spoon:

When Peter went out of that boat and stepped on that water, there is no natural principle in the world, in any normal universe, that would allow Peter to walk on water.

David Spoon:

But he did one thing well.

David Spoon:

He looked at Jesus.

David Spoon:

And as he was looking at Jesus, the Bible says he walked on the water.

David Spoon:

He looked at his situation, just focusing at Jesus.

David Spoon:

Then he took his eyes off of Jesus and he saw the winds and the waves and he sank.

David Spoon:

He lost the correct attitude when he stopped seeing with Jesus in the picture.

David Spoon:

Whatever you see, whatever you face, whatever you encounter, do not see it or face it in the natural.

David Spoon:

For we walk by faith and not by sight.

David Spoon:

So everything you see, you must insert the picture of Jesus.

David Spoon:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's K double amen.

David Spoon:

770 the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Last trivia question.

David Spoon:

When Jesus went through his temptations In Matthew chapter 4, verses 4 through 10, he used a particular phrase each of the three times.

David Spoon:

It was used twice in the very beginning and then towards the end it was used.

David Spoon:

Very nice, Jeff.

David Spoon:

And it was used in the middle of another one.

David Spoon:

What was the phrase Jesus used to resist Satan and the temptations?

David Spoon:

Very particular phrase.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

What was that phrase?

David Spoon:

In fact, what is that phrase we should be using?

David Spoon:

2 we do have somebody on the line that is ready to answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

So let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking.

Nancy:

Hi, David.

Nancy:

This is Nancy.

David Spoon:

Hi, Nancy.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Nancy:

I'm doing well.

David Spoon:

Good.

David Spoon:

I'm glad to hear that.

David Spoon:

I'm glad to hear that.

David Spoon:

How are your daughters?

Nancy:

Well, Jill's doing better.

Nancy:

She was having some pain the other day after a doctor's appointment, but she's doing a lot better.

Nancy:

So that's a praise.

David Spoon:

That is a praise.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

That is great news.

David Spoon:

And how are you doing?

Nancy:

Well, there's one other praise.

Nancy:

When my dad, you know, I went out to my dad's and I had had colitis that week.

Nancy:

I had been at the hospital and it was very sick.

Nancy:

I found out on a Thursday that they had put him on on hospice, that he wasn't well.

Nancy:

They didn't know.

Nancy:

They thought he lasted another two weeks.

Nancy:

And I said I need to go out there.

Nancy:

So God impressed upon me that I needed to go the next day.

Nancy:

And I just said to pray.

Nancy:

You have to make give me strength to get there because I was so weak from having the colitis.

Nancy:

And he did.

Nancy:

He was faithful.

Nancy:

And I got there and he lasted an hour and a half after I got there to see him.

Nancy:

I got to speak with him.

Nancy:

He was comatose.

Nancy:

But I believe from his responses, his bodily responses that he heard me.

Nancy:

And I'm just so thankful for that.

David Spoon:

Wow.

Nancy:

That I got closure.

Nancy:

I got to tell my dad how much I loved him.

Nancy:

And that's just a Praise.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that's powerful, too.

David Spoon:

I mean, that.

David Spoon:

That is just, Just so powerful.

David Spoon:

I mean, it's just like.

David Spoon:

Like the Lord gave you that space, gave you that bubble and spirit moving upon you to get out there and with all the stuff you were going through and what he's going through and then at least getting that opportunity.

David Spoon:

I mean, I just say that's just.

David Spoon:

That's just awesome.

David Spoon:

And great kindness from the king.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's what I would say it is.

David Spoon:

You are a favored daughter of the most high God.

Nancy:

Amen.

David Spoon:

That's what I would say.

David Spoon:

Very, very cool.

David Spoon:

Thank you for sharing that.

David Spoon:

It's very, very powerful.

David Spoon:

All right, I'm going to set you up on the triv.

David Spoon:

You ready for that?

David Spoon:

Are you feeling pretty good about that?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right, let me set.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

Jesus had a response to Satan.

David Spoon:

Each time he spoke to him, he kind of used a particular phrase.

David Spoon:

What was that phrase that he used?

Nancy:

It is written.

David Spoon:

That is correct, Emmanuel.

David Spoon:

You are right.

David Spoon:

And see, that's the thing.

David Spoon:

A perfect example is like when the enemy comes and says, you know, well, God doesn't care.

David Spoon:

And it's like, oh, yeah, well, listen, this is what he just did for me.

David Spoon:

It is written.

David Spoon:

And then right away, your own experience gives you that opportunity to say, God was faithful.

David Spoon:

He has written that he's the God of comfort and that he protects.

David Spoon:

And it's just like all those things, you could just start dropping in 100 scriptures in there.

David Spoon:

It's like, that's the key.

David Spoon:

So that is excellent.

David Spoon:

And what a phenomenal testimony we share with you in the loss, but we also rejoice with you in the grace that was brought about in that situation.

David Spoon:

That's very powerful.

David Spoon:

It's just wonderful.

David Spoon:

Very cool for you to share that.

David Spoon:

Very, very cool.

David Spoon:

Great job.

David Spoon:

Okay, you want to.

David Spoon:

Can I pray over you?

David Spoon:

Sure.

Nancy:

That would be very nice.

David Spoon:

I appreciate it.

David Spoon:

Let's do that.

David Spoon:

Father, I just want to thank you for her, Nancy.

David Spoon:

And I ask you in the name of Jesus that you would just bring such comfort, such.

David Spoon:

Oh, what a great testimony that you blessed her that much and gave her that closure.

David Spoon:

She says thank you in her heart, but we're all saying thank you because she shared that with us.

David Spoon:

We thank you for showing your comfort, your love, and your commitment to your kids, especially to your chosen and favored daughter.

David Spoon:

And we ask you to bless her throughout and give her great strength and full healing in everything in Jesus name.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

Nancy:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Thank you so much.

David Spoon:

Excellent job.

Nancy:

All right.

Nancy:

Have a wonderful weekend.

David Spoon:

You too.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

Nancy:

Okay, thanks.

Nancy:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

David Spoon:

Excellent job.

David Spoon:

Okay, so here it is.

David Spoon:

I'm just going to close out with this very short teaching is only a minute long because we only got a minute.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

Here it is.

David Spoon:

First it says Samuel, chapter 12.

David Spoon:

First Samuel 12, 20, 22.

David Spoon:

Don't be afraid.

David Spoon:

Samuel said, you've done this evil yet.

David Spoon:

Do not turn away from the Lord, but serve the Lord with your whole heart.

David Spoon:

Do not turn away after useless idols.

David Spoon:

Do not do that.

David Spoon:

They do you no good and they cannot rescue you because they're useless.

David Spoon:

For the sake of his great name.

David Spoon:

The Lord will not reject his people because the Lord was pleased to make you his own.

David Spoon:

Even when they messed up.

David Spoon:

The prophet told them, you know what you did it, it wasn't good.

David Spoon:

That's.

David Spoon:

We get it.

David Spoon:

Don't quit, don't turn away because the Lord has made you his own.

David Spoon:

Because he loves you and he wants to keep you close.

David Spoon:

In verse 24 it says, Consider what great, great things he's done for you.

David Spoon:

Think about how many times God has pulled you from the brink, even when you've done something stupid and loved on you anyway.

David Spoon:

And stay close because he is your answer.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Okay folks, you have been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

We're going to be taking a 72 and 1/2 hour break.

David Spoon:

Then we'll come back for more insanity with Spoonanity.

David Spoon:

We'll talk to you then in peace and sleep.

David Spoon:

For you have made me safe.

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
