03-12-2025 Part 1: Navigating Life's Challenges Through Divine Stability
The crux of today's discussion revolves around the profound inquiry of whether one has taken the opportunity to bless another individual within the past week, and if not, whether one is actively seeking divine assistance to become a blessing. As we navigate the complexities of daily life, it is imperative to reflect upon the essence of our spiritual journey and the importance of being a source of encouragement to others. In this context, we delve into the teachings of Psalm 62, exploring King David's steadfast reliance on God as his sole source of salvation and stability amidst adversity. The narrative not only encapsulates the importance of waiting silently for divine intervention but also emphasizes the futility of placing expectations on worldly matters, urging us to anchor our hope in the Lord alone. Join us as we unravel these themes, fostering a deeper understanding of our faith and the practical implications of living a life devoted to service and prayer.
The episode presents a thoughtful exploration of Psalm 62, where Dr. David Spoon elucidates the biblical concept of waiting on God. He articulates that true stability and peace come from placing one's expectations solely in the Lord. Engaging listeners with his characteristic earnestness, Dr. Spoon reflects on the tumultuous nature of life and the societal pressures that can lead to spiritual disquiet. He emphasizes the necessity of self-talk, urging individuals to remind themselves of God's unwavering presence and support. By sharing personal anecdotes and scriptural insights, Dr. Spoon invites his audience to embrace a posture of stillness and trust in God, thereby fostering resilience against life's uncertainties. The conversation also highlights the significance of communal prayer and support as vital components of the Christian faith, reinforcing the notion that believers are called to bear one another's burdens.

Speaker B:Hello, everybody.
Speaker B:When it's cold outside.
Speaker C:I've got.
Speaker B:Here's what's coming up on today's experience.
Speaker B:It's Dr.
Speaker B:Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DD DDDD's, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.
Speaker B:Sound effects placed throughout the show which have nothing to do with life.
Speaker B:But the Bible teaches there's a time to laugh.
Speaker B:The review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.
Speaker B:We hope before this show is over, life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't.
Speaker B:If we sit on our blessed assurance humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?
Speaker B:Because the Lord said, you in there now.
Speaker B:And so here I am.
Speaker B:Ha.
Speaker B:Also Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
Speaker B:Welcome to the davidspoon Experience.
Speaker B:Local, new national and heavenly talk.
Speaker B:My name is Dr.
Speaker B:David Spoon.
Speaker B:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
Speaker B:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
Speaker B:Here is the key to the show.
Speaker B:We don't know what we're doing.
Speaker B:We're gonna prove that in about 60 seconds.
Speaker B:We have no idea what's gonna happen.
Speaker B:I'm gonna prove that in about 45 seconds, and we don't care.
Speaker B:But for the next few minutes, I want to talk truth with you.
Speaker B:So here we go.
Speaker B:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Speaker B:That thingy right there.
Speaker B:Now listen to everything I'm going to say.
Speaker B:It's really important because we have a little bit of a different process going on today.
Speaker B:The question that I'm going to ask you is simply, did you have an opportunity to bless someone this week?
Speaker B:And if not, are you asking God to let you be a blessing?
Speaker B:That's the question.
Speaker B:Now watch this.
Speaker B:You cannot call in.
Speaker B:What?
Speaker B:Nope, it will not work.
Speaker B:Our phone is not working.
Speaker B:If you are listening to this, you are only listening to this on the radio because the streaming is not working.
Speaker B:So the apps are not working.
Speaker B:Wowzer, Bowser, in addition to that.
Speaker B:I know.
Speaker B:Isn't that sad?
Speaker B:Not that we can't fill the show.
Speaker B:Watch.
Speaker B:Anyway, the point is simply this.
Speaker B:You can still text because I still will get that.
Speaker B:You can still send an email because my phone is hooked up to the Internet differently than the situation here.
Speaker B:At the station.
Speaker B:So you can text and you can email.
Speaker B:So going back to the question, we're simply going to ask that question.
Speaker B:Did you have an opportunity to bless somebody this week?
Speaker B:And if not, are you asking the Lord to enable you to be a blessing?
Speaker B:I think you get where this one's going.
Speaker B:If you're not asking the Lord to enable you to be a blessing, you probably should.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:You think that's a good idea?
Speaker B:Yes, it is.
Speaker B:Now, knowing that you cannot contact us does not mean that we don't greatly appreciate our very own Jammin Jacob.
Speaker B:That's right.
Speaker B:Normally when you get to talk to Jam and Jacob on the telephone, you can't do that today.
Speaker B:But normally it just gives you this feeling that you have done your very, very best.
Speaker D:Thank you, David.
Speaker D:Happy Wednesday.
Speaker B:Happy Wednesday with no streaming, no phone, Internet day today for many people.
Speaker B:But is that going to stop us, my friend?
Speaker B:Is it?
Speaker B:Is it gonna stop us?
Speaker D:No, it is not.
Speaker D:And yes, happy no Internet, no phone Wednesday.
Speaker B:That's right.
Speaker B:That's what it is today.
Speaker B:But it's not gonna stop us because from our perspective, we go forward, don't we?
Speaker B:All right, so how are you doing today besides that?
Speaker B:Does it make your day a little different?
Speaker B:Does it make it harder or does it actually make it easier?
Speaker B:Cause there's not much you can do.
Speaker B:What happens when you're.
Speaker B:Cause you're running shows, you're putting things in there.
Speaker B:You and Jennifer are the only people that can make this thing work at all, which I think is really funny.
Speaker B:And nobody realizes without Jennifer and Jacob, there's no radio show.
Speaker B:All right, so bottom line, is it easier or harder when you have stuff like this going on?
Speaker D:I would say both, because right now I can't put any shows in.
Speaker D:Other shows I play here on the station can't currently put any new shows in, but I guess it is a little bit either.
Speaker D:I don't have as much to do.
Speaker D:Right.
Speaker D:Answering the phone.
Speaker D:But yeah, I would say both.
Speaker D:I would say both.
Speaker B:Okay, that's just kind of curious about that.
Speaker B:It just dawned on me.
Speaker B:It's like, that's got to be awkward for you and then awkward for Jennifer.
Speaker B:And I know she's just hanging out, trying to get us to get everything together, which we really appreciate, by the way.
Speaker B:You guys need to be praying for Jam and Jacob and Jennifer and Don.
Speaker B:I think we've made that pretty clear at this point.
Speaker B:So there's a couple things I do need to tell you, and these things are super important.
Speaker B:So no phone.
Speaker B:Right that doesn't mean no show.
Speaker B:It just means no phone, no Internet.
Speaker B:In the context of I don't think any of the apps are working, is that probably correct?
Speaker B:Is the KAAM app working or is it just no streaming?
Speaker D:Yeah, just no streaming.
Speaker D:Right.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:So might the KAAM app might be working or maybe not, or we don't know.
Speaker D:Yeah, I don't think so.
Speaker D:I think just like car radio or over the air, anything having to do with us needing Internet, it's not working right now.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:And it's gonna be a little glitchy cause it's running on a backup system.
Speaker B:But that doesn't mean you can't listen to it later on in the podcast.
Speaker B:It'll all be there, it'll all be recorded.
Speaker B:And don't you worry, it'll be a full 90 minutes.
Speaker B:I could promise you that.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:The things that I do need to tell you that are very important is simply this.
Speaker B:Tomorrow is the Texas A and M men's basketball aggies playing at 2:00 is their intro to their show.
Speaker B:2:30 is the actual game.
Speaker B:So we're gonna run a 1:30-2 special, a replay special, and then the basketball team will be on there on Thursday.
Speaker B:So be aware of that.
Speaker B:Don't get caught off guard.
Speaker B:We put that information on the website.
Speaker B:Just so you can know that with that going on and other things taking place, we do encourage you to still be praying for the audience.
Speaker B:Why?
Speaker B:Because people need prayer and you are capable of fulfilling that role.
Speaker B:It's not overly complex.
Speaker B:In Galatians 6:2, we are commanded to carry one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Speaker B:One of the ways that you carry the burden is you join people in prayer.
Speaker B: Romans: Speaker B:Paul said, Join me in my struggle by praying for me.
Speaker B:So we're encouraging you to pray for the audience.
Speaker B:And quite frankly, if there's other things that you're attached to in your Christian walk and you really wanna contribute, but maybe financially you can't, you can still join that struggle by praying for them.
Speaker B:That's a way to do that.
Speaker B:So we really encourage that at all levels.
Speaker B:Just wanna remind you of that.
Speaker B:Again, we're gonna give an opportunity to try and that do a little bit of a trivia, but they'll have to be answered through email or through text.
Speaker B:It's the only way that we can do it.
Speaker B:We're not gonna start off with that, but we are going to get to that.
Speaker B:In the meantime, you might as well buckle up because what we're gonna talk about is more phenomenal King David writing.
Speaker B:I mean, you just love this stuff in the Psalms.
Speaker B:For those that do not know, we are in Psalms Psalm 62, and we're picking it up at verse three.
Speaker B:And I want you to catch this because last week we had a call.
Speaker B:It was a great call, Sergio.
Speaker B:And we went down this really cool road, but I didn't get to teach on this.
Speaker B:So now I'm going back to this teaching.
Speaker B:Here's what it says.
Speaker B:And I want you to remember from a couple weeks ago, we talked about King David and how he.
Speaker B:Sometimes there's an approach that you are dealing with in the Lord that.
Speaker B:That calls for you to be very active, very persistent, very knock, knock.
Speaker B:And then there's other times in the Lord where you are called to handle it a little differently.
Speaker B:We're going back to what he says in Psalm 62.
Speaker B:We'll pick it up at verse 1 and 2, but focusing on verse 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Speaker B:It says this.
Speaker B:Truly my soul silently waits for God.
Speaker B:From him comes my salvation.
Speaker B:He only is my rock and my salvation, he is my defense.
Speaker B:I shall not be greatly shaken.
Speaker B:And we talked about that two weeks ago.
Speaker B:And just a beautiful, beautiful thing he's writing.
Speaker B:He's like, look, my salvation comes from God only.
Speaker B:He is my rock.
Speaker B:And why that's important, and we talked about it, is because a rock is something that's sturdy to stand upon.
Speaker B:And God is sturdy for your life.
Speaker B:He is steadfast for you.
Speaker B:He is immovable.
Speaker B:In fact, James chapter one says, there is neither variable nor shadow of turning.
Speaker B:What that means is when the sun moves and it casts a shadow, if it moves just a little bit of a degree, then the shadow moves.
Speaker B:There is no movement in God's shadow.
Speaker B:He don't move.
Speaker B:He's steadfast.
Speaker B:And he's not just steadfast as who he is.
Speaker B:He's steadfast as your dad.
Speaker B:He's steadfast as your heavenly father.
Speaker B:He's steadfast as your rock, as your stability, as your strength.
Speaker B:Yeah, I know.
Speaker B:There's a lot of up and down in the world, right?
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:There's a lot of.
Speaker B:If you even watch politics at all, you're going up, down, up, down, up, down.
Speaker B:We just call, yo, yo, yo, up, down, up, down, up, down, or call you Duncan.
Speaker B:That's a good one.
Speaker B:Here's the bottom line.
Speaker B:The bottom line is God doesn't move like that.
Speaker B:He is stable, he is steady.
Speaker B:And even us, let's be honest, sometimes, well, Sometimes we wear bananas for our shoes.
Speaker B:You're thinking, what?
Speaker B:Well, sometimes we wear bananas for our shoes because we're walking in slippers.
Speaker B:You get it?
Speaker B:So we need to recognize our stability comes from the Lord.
Speaker B:That's where our stability comes from.
Speaker B:So he says this in verse 3.
Speaker B:How long will you attack a man?
Speaker B:You shall be slain, all of you, like a leaning wall on a tottering fence.
Speaker B:Then he's talking about people that are against him.
Speaker B:They only consult to cast him down from his high position.
Speaker B:They delight in lies.
Speaker B:They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.
Speaker B:So after David in this situation, and for those that don't understand the situation, he's trying to be very calm while he's waiting for the salvation of the Lord, because people are coming against him and they're trying to take him out and they're trying to kill him.
Speaker B:And he's just like, oh, my goodness, how long is this gonna go on?
Speaker B:You should all be slain.
Speaker B:That's his way of saying, I wish you all would just take a long walk off a short pier.
Speaker B:And then he says.
Speaker B:Then he says, they only get together to try and cast people down.
Speaker B:They delight in lies.
Speaker B:Uh oh.
Speaker B:They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.
Speaker B:Uh oh.
Speaker B:What does that mean?
Speaker B:Yeah, that's a lot of stuff right there.
Speaker B:First of all, they delight in their lives.
Speaker B:Now, there are not many politicians and not many.
Speaker B:I didn't say none.
Speaker B:I said there's just not many figures in academia and not too many in the media or Hollywood that don't fit this description perfectly.
Speaker B:They delight in lies.
Speaker B:It's the most bizarre thing.
Speaker B:And I'm reading in Jeremiah today, chapter 24 and 25, and it talks about the Lord dropping the sword on people and people losing their minds.
Speaker B:Did you ever look at these guys who are in the media and in different elements, and you think while they're talking or you hear some kind of replay of something, you think, these people seem like they're losing their minds.
Speaker B:Guess what?
Speaker B:The Lord is the one who's doing that.
Speaker B:That's so amazing.
Speaker B:It's so bizarre.
Speaker B:And then David goes on to say.
Speaker B:He says, these people, they bless with their mouth.
Speaker B:In other words, they're trying to come off like, oh, no, we're really great people.
Speaker B:We love everybody, but inside they're cursing.
Speaker B:Boy, I guess that fits the media more than I thought they might be saying.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah, everything's great.
Speaker B:And really, they're harboring hate.
Speaker B:And I mean hate as in hate for godly things.
Speaker B:The people of God the things of God.
Speaker B:These are the woke, ridiculously culturally facades of our day.
Speaker B:And you're seeing it on display and what's happening.
Speaker B:They're losing their minds.
Speaker B:You're just looking at it, going, wow, Wowzer, right?
Speaker B:You know it's true.
Speaker B:Don't even try.
Speaker B:You know it's absolutely so.
Speaker B:And in verse 5, he says this.
Speaker B:You know what?
Speaker B:My soul, My soul wait silently for God alone.
Speaker B:For my expectation is from Him.
Speaker B:In contrast the people to people that are.
Speaker B:How do I want to say this?
Speaker B:Delighting in lies, losing their mind and full of hate.
Speaker B:Just put that in any category you want to.
Speaker B:In opposition to that.
Speaker B:He talks about himself as a follower of Jehovah, as a follower of the Lord God Almighty.
Speaker B:And he says, he tells himself, I'm going to wait silently for God.
Speaker B:One of the greatest things about the Psalms that I've learned more of in this last year, and I've read the Psalms more times than we want to discuss, is how much self talk David has going on in the Psalms to himself.
Speaker B:And so he's telling himself, wait silently for God.
Speaker B:Sometimes you got to say that to yourself.
Speaker B:I just want to point that out.
Speaker B:I even do that from time to time.
Speaker B:I say it out loud to myself.
Speaker B:I know God hears it.
Speaker B:I know I can hear it.
Speaker B:But if I speak it, I hear it in my left end right here.
Speaker B:So I'm hearing it twice.
Speaker B:And sometimes you gotta say, chill, just relax.
Speaker B:And you just say it yourself.
Speaker B:Remember David said, why so downcast, O my soul?
Speaker B:Put your hope in God.
Speaker B:He said that to himself.
Speaker B:Okay, well, sometimes you gotta say it to yourself.
Speaker B:And David's like, wait silently for God.
Speaker B:Sometimes you need to remind yourself you don't just hear it from a preacher.
Speaker B:Hallelujah.
Speaker B:You don't just hear it on the radio.
Speaker B:Well, it must be true.
Speaker B:Cause I heard it on radio.
Speaker B:You don't just hear it from the television.
Speaker B:Sometimes you need to take a deep breath and say to yourself, trust in the Lord.
Speaker B:We'll look at our circumstance.
Speaker B:It can be overwhelming.
Speaker B:I think we all know that it happens.
Speaker B:We look at our situations, we're like going, wow.
Speaker B:What?
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:And sometimes you got to pull it back and go, slow down.
Speaker B:And here's my response to myself.
Speaker B:And I even say this to myself.
Speaker B:Does anything catch God by surprise?
Speaker B:No.
Speaker B:So if he's not surprised and he's with me and for me, why am I freaking?
Speaker B:That's just a great point.
Speaker B:Just a great point, right?
Speaker B:And so David's like, okay, all Right.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:You know what, my soul, wait silently for God.
Speaker B:Just, okay, chill, chill, chill.
Speaker B:And then he says this.
Speaker B:And I love this.
Speaker B:This is why I love this psalm.
Speaker B:I mean, if you don't know this psalm, get into this Psalm.
Speaker B:Psalm 62 is phenomenal.
Speaker B:He says my expectation is from him.
Speaker B:I just want to point this out.
Speaker B:If you and I have expectation and we have that geared towards the world, you are going to find nothing but disappointment.
Speaker B:If you and I have expectation and that's geared towards government, you are going to find nothing but disappointment.
Speaker B:If you have expectation and you think that people are going to be the resolution to your issue, you are setting yourself up for deep, deep, deep disappointment.
Speaker B:And here's the last one.
Speaker B:If your expectation is in you and not the Lord, you are going to find yourself on the wrong end of the situation.
Speaker B:Our expectation needs to be in the Lord.
Speaker B:Yes, he uses us.
Speaker B:Yes, we work together in concert.
Speaker B:But again, without him giving you breath or strength, ability, the ability to reason, think, comprehend any of that, without God granting that to you, you got nothing.
Speaker B:You got zero.
Speaker B:And so David's just like, yeah, yeah, okay, my soul, you just wait silently for God alone.
Speaker B:Because my expectation is from him.
Speaker B:Oh, my goodness.
Speaker B:Isn't that beautiful?
Speaker B:Wait, we're not done.
Speaker B:We are going to take a deep breath here.
Speaker B:Got that?
Speaker B:Deep breath.
Speaker B:Good, good, good.
Speaker B:Here's your chance to text or to email.
Speaker B:I'll give you the text and the email in a second.
Speaker B:Here it is.
Speaker B:Who cut off the ear of Melchus, the high priest's servant, in the situation of the garden when they were getting to arrest Jesus?
Speaker B:Your reference?
Speaker B: John: Speaker B: John: Speaker B:John 18 10.
Speaker B:Who cut off the ear of Malchus, the high priest's servant.
Speaker B:And in order to get to us, you can do it two ways.
Speaker B: -: Speaker B: -: Speaker B:One more time because we don't have a phone.
Speaker B: -: Speaker B:Text only.
Speaker B:Or you can send an email.
Speaker B:Email davidemustincrease.org, davidemustincrease.org Now I am going to send you up to the website because things do not always change just because there's no phone.
Speaker B:What does that mean?
Speaker B:That means we still need help.
Speaker B:That's what it means.
Speaker B:We appreciate people that have given.
Speaker B:We appreciate people that are praying about it.
Speaker B:We appreciate people that want to give and cannot give.
Speaker B:We ask you to pray for us no matter what the case may be, but if you're able to give, please do so.
Speaker B:It would be very helpful.
Speaker B:Our Scripture for today Luke 6:38 give and it will be given to you.
Speaker B:Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over will be put into your lap for the measure you use.
Speaker B:It will be measured back to you.
Speaker B:That is a promise from the Lord.
Speaker B:You have to love that.
Speaker B:Check out the Giving and other things on the website hemustincrease.org prayer request hemostincrease.org praise report he mustincrease.org looking to give to this ministry he mustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now he must increase.org he must increase.org as a duly designated representative of the city, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return for to your place of origin or to the nearest convenient parallel dimension I'm sorry, I still find that funny.
Speaker B:I can't help it.
Speaker B:That's just how I am.
Speaker B:Back to it.
Speaker B:Remember, we're having some tech problems for those that don't know, we got people that will listen and join in halfway through and trying to figure out why isn't the app working or why isn't it working on the Internet?
Speaker B:So I do have to repeat and tell people on a regular basis.
Speaker B:The question is who cut off the hair of Malchus, the high priest's servant?
Speaker B: answer, of course is in John: Speaker B: If you know, you can text us: Speaker B:Isn't it fun?
Speaker B:Just like it's a regular show, right?
Speaker B:Yeah, that's okay.
Speaker B:Here you go Back to Psalm 62.
Speaker B:We're picking it back up where David just said, My soul waits silently for God alone, for my expectation is from him.
Speaker B:Verse 6 and hang on to your hats.
Speaker B:He only is my rock and my salvation.
Speaker B:He is my defense.
Speaker B:I shall not be moved.
Speaker B:Wow.
Speaker B:Verse 6 kind of slams the door on everything.
Speaker B:The answer is always in the Lord.
Speaker B:I don't care.
Speaker B:It doesn't matter what any person says anywhere, ever, at any point.
Speaker B:At any point.
Speaker B:All of those brilliant scientists and even other theologians and political leaders and influencer influence people and all that other rubbish.
Speaker B:The answer is always the Lord.
Speaker B:And the sooner we learn that, the better off we are in enjoying the graces and mercies that he's granted us to have on this side.
Speaker B:On the other Side, it's going to be lights out, but we do get bits and pieces of heaven and of grace, of mercy here.
Speaker B:And that comes from the lord.
Speaker B:In verse 6, he makes it clear he only is my rock.
Speaker B:In this one psalm, David has said only multiple times.
Speaker B:And the reason that he's saying that is this is my dependence on the Lord.
Speaker B:Now, don't misunderstand me.
Speaker B:Don't miss this.
Speaker B:Supporting one another is great.
Speaker B:It's awesome.
Speaker B:And we promote it.
Speaker B:You know we do.
Speaker B:But push come to shove, everyone must stand on the rock, the cornerstone appointed by God for us to depend on.
Speaker B:You got to stand on Jesus.
Speaker B:You have to stand on the Lord.
Speaker B:So he concludes this section by saying, he is my defense.
Speaker B:I will not be moved.
Speaker B:Here is a very challenging question.
Speaker B:Don't get upset.
Speaker B:Just think about it.
Speaker B:Of all the stuff that you encounter between family and your job and even your church, and the bills that you have to pay and the engagements you have in society, which kind of makes it huge and broad, right?
Speaker B:It could be television, radio, it could be any of that stuff.
Speaker B:Out of all that stuff, just listen what most quickly moves you, and I'm not talking about in a good way.
Speaker B:What just really, I got to be in my bonnet now.
Speaker B:I mean, what really gets the dandruff?
Speaker B:What merely gets it rolling for you?
Speaker B:Here's the thing in the Lord, when He is our rock, when he is our only, when he is our everything, when he is our complete resolution to everything.
Speaker B:Which is why David said in Psalm 23:1, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
Speaker B:When we have him as our core, things don't move us as quickly.
Speaker B:Situations don't bother us as much.
Speaker B:People don't bother us as much.
Speaker B:Words of other people, situations, society, cultures, none of that bugs you as much when he is at the core.
Speaker B:So he's like, he's my defense.
Speaker B:I shall not be moved anytime.
Speaker B:Scripture comments on steadfastness, by the way.
Speaker B:For me, it stirs something in me, reminding me that I don't have to be moved by wind or wave, but I can reside and live and be resilient in the power of God himself.
Speaker B:I am not forced to respond or to react.
Speaker B:Tom A.
Speaker B:Barnett said this one time, don't be a reactor, be an actor.
Speaker B:Don't react to everything.
Speaker B:Act forward in everything.
Speaker B:To do that, the Lord has to be your stability.
Speaker B:Get it?
Speaker B:Okay, to the trivia question.
Speaker B:Okay, here we go.
Speaker B: gh priest's servant from John: Speaker B:The answer is.
Speaker B:Peter.
Speaker B:Peter cut off his ear.
Speaker B:Ow.
Speaker B:I'm sorry, I can't hear you.
Speaker B:Okay, we will take a very short break and then come back because we have no quit in us.
Speaker B:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth stationer in town, Texas.
Speaker B:Short break.
Speaker B:We'll be back.
Speaker B:Don't go anywhere.

Speaker B:Do you think it's been organizational leadership has been a good thing for church leaders?
Speaker C:Well, I'll tell you what, it's a penetrating question.
Speaker C:The answer is very simple.
Speaker C:If used correctly, to add value to people and serve others, it's a good thing.
Speaker C:If used incorrectly, it's not a good thing.
Speaker C:And you know, when people talk about everything rises and falls on leadership, I teach them often that it rises, but it also falls.
Speaker C:And nothing is better than for people to have a good leader.
Speaker C:And nothing's worse than for people to have a bad leader.
Speaker C:And to me, what makes serpent leadership work is this.
Speaker C:Most leaders put themselves first before their people.
Speaker C:And so it is a me motivation as far as leading.
Speaker C:What's in it for me?
Speaker C:I travel internationally with my company quip, and in fact, I'll leave Sunday for Guatemala.
Speaker C:In fact, I'll be meeting next week with the president and the cabinet of Guatemala when I'm with these leaders alone.
Speaker C:David alone.
Speaker C:I mean, no handlers, no media, nothing, but just alone.
Speaker C:The question I ask him, which is I think the true servant leadership question, is, will the people be better off after you've served your term as a leader than they were before you got there?
Speaker B:Wow.
Speaker C:And I think that's.
Speaker C:And when the answer is yes, you have been a good leader, it has been a good thing.
Speaker C:Organizational leadership, good thing.
Speaker C:When the answer is no, bad leader, bad thing.
