03-11-2025 part. 2: Exploring Romans: Understanding God's Covenant with Israel

The salient point of this podcast episode centers on the profound privilege of worshiping God and receiving His promises, as articulated in the context of the biblical narrative surrounding Israel. Our discussion delves into the Apostle Paul's reflections in Romans chapter nine, emphasizing God's unwavering love and covenant with the nation of Israel, which serves as a foundational element of both historical and contemporary faith. We explore the notion that this privilege extends beyond Israel, inviting all believers to recognize their shared opportunity to worship and experience divine grace. Moreover, we contemplate the exemplary faith of Israel's ancestors, whose legacy continues to resonate in the life of the Church today. This episode serves as a reminder of our blessed status as recipients of God's promises, urging us to embrace and honor this extraordinary gift of worship.

In a compelling reflection on Romans chapter nine, Dr. David Spoon articulates the profound theological implications of God's covenant with Israel and its relevance to contemporary believers. Beginning with an exploration of Israel's unique standing as the chosen people, the discussion highlights the covenantal relationship established by God, which is rooted in love and divine favor. The speaker emphasizes that God's grace is not limited to Israel alone but is a universal invitation extended to all who seek Him. This theological premise serves as a foundation for understanding the nature of worship as a privilege rather than an obligation, fostering a mindset of gratitude and reverence among believers. As the conversation progresses, Dr. Spoon examines the implications of Israel's historical legacy, affirming that the great figures of the Old Testament, despite their imperfections, exemplified a sincere pursuit of God. This reflection serves as an encouragement for modern believers, reminding them that faithfulness is characterized by a heartfelt desire to engage with the divine, rather than a flawless adherence to religious norms. The narrative culminates in a powerful affirmation of Jesus Christ's identity as both human and divine, reinforcing the continuity of God's plan throughout history and inviting listeners to embrace their role within this divine narrative.

Takeaways:

  • Dr. David Spoon emphasizes the significance of understanding God's covenant with Israel, highlighting His enduring love for them despite external portrayals.

  • Spoon notes the critical need for unity among believers and the importance of prayer in navigating the challenges of faith and life.

Speaker A:

And now for something completely different.

Speaker A:

Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.

Speaker A:

It's totally terrific, totally transforming and totally triumphant Tuesday as we find unity from the Father, through the Son and by the Spirit, all for the glory of God Almighty.

Speaker A:

First, jumping back into the book of Romans, we pick it up at chapter nine, starting about, eh.

Speaker A:

Halfway through verse four, the apostle writes in chapter nine regarding God's selection of the nation of Israel.

Speaker A:

He's showing God's favor towards Israel in the text because he made a covenant with them and gave them his laws.

Speaker A:

It is important to understand that God doesn't just give his laws to anybody that way.

Speaker A:

He doesn't just throw them out.

Speaker A:

He likes Israel.

Speaker A:

He.

Speaker A:

He loves Israel and he's making a covenant with Israel.

Speaker A:

Do you understand?

Speaker A:

He loves Israel in spite of what even now the media or other demonic influences try to portray Israel as.

Speaker A:

Israel is still the apple of his eye.

Speaker A:

So careful.

Speaker A:

Next, in Paul's description, he mentions that Israel has been granted the privilege of worshiping God and receiving his wonderful promises.

Speaker A:

Keep this in mind.

Speaker A:

You too.

Speaker A:

Me too.

Speaker A:

We have the privilege of worshiping God.

Speaker A:

I have the privilege of worshiping God and so do you, just like Israel did and does.

Speaker A:

Not only that, but God has granted his promises to all of us.

Speaker A:

His promises are promises of grace, of mercy and of blessings.

Speaker A:

That's so powerful.

Speaker A:

And finally, as the apostle reviews the material, he points out that Israel's ancestors were really great people.

Speaker A:

Not just good people, they were actually great people.

Speaker A:

This does not mean they were all great.

Speaker A:

It does not mean they were all perfect.

Speaker A:

But many of them were genuine in their faith.

Speaker A:

It does not mean they did everything right.

Speaker A:

It does not mean they said everything right.

Speaker A:

It does not mean they thought everything right.

Speaker A:

But in their hearts, there were several that really wanted the Lord.

Speaker A:

And that is what makes them and us right with God.

Speaker B:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Talking to Jim and Jacob is like sharing a cheat meal on your diet with your favorite person.

Speaker A:

Thank you, David.

Speaker A:

Happy Tuesday.

Speaker A:

Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.

Speaker A:

Obviously we are off and rolling.

Speaker A:

I can't believe we've already done 30 minutes of the show.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it just flies by.

Speaker A:

It does fly by.

Speaker A:

It does go pretty fast, I gotta say that.

Speaker A:

So by the way, did you have anything cool happen this weekend?

Speaker A:

Did you eat anything special?

Speaker A:

I forgot to ask you.

Speaker A:

No, I didn't eat any Reese's or nothing too special this weekend.

Speaker A:

What about you?

Speaker A:

I did have Reese's.

Speaker A:

Okay, okay, that's good.

Speaker A:

And I forgive you for not having Reese's.

Speaker A:

Okay, that makes up for me not having any.

Speaker A:

So that's just too funny.

Speaker A:

All right folks.

Speaker A:

It's just a long running joke, people.

Speaker A:

Get over it.

Speaker A:

Here's what we got going on.

Speaker A:

If you want to email us, if you want to text us, if you want to call us, you're welcome to.

Speaker A:

It can be for a praise report.

Speaker A:

Why?

Speaker A:

Praise reports are cool.

Speaker A:

They're telling us testimonies.

Speaker A:

Praise reports, whatever you want to call them.

Speaker A:

It doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

That's the stuff that doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

Did the Lord do something cool?

Speaker A:

Share it.

Speaker A:

People are so blessed by that.

Speaker A:

You don't recognize.

Speaker A:

I cannot even explain to you how many people have written an email about somebody sharing something that they thought didn't mean anything.

Speaker A:

But the people writing were like, oh, this really blessed me.

Speaker A:

I heard this from this and this and this.

Speaker A:

That is the great stuff.

Speaker A:

That's just the best.

Speaker A:

That's the gold, right?

Speaker A:

Because it's God moving in our brothers and sisters lives.

Speaker A:

And then that movement Translates into a blessing in other ways.

Speaker A:

It's just like, wow, that's how the Lord designed it.

Speaker A:

Praise reports are great.

Speaker A:

Bring it.

Speaker A:

We want to hear it.

Speaker A:

I don't know if I could say it.

Speaker A:

Well, join the club.

Speaker A:

I won't say it perfectly.

Speaker A:

Join the club.

Speaker A:

Club.

Speaker A:

That's lost for sure.

Speaker A:

The other thing, it could be for prayer requests.

Speaker A:

I mean, come on, let's petition.

Speaker A:

Don't you believe he loves you?

Speaker A:

Yes, I know he loves me, but I don't know if he likes me.

Speaker A:

You'd spend eternity with somebody you didn't like.

Speaker A:

Life's just dumb.

Speaker A:

Of course he likes you.

Speaker A:

Of course he loves you.

Speaker A:

No, he doesn't love everything you do.

Speaker A:

Neither do you, truth be told.

Speaker A:

But petition.

Speaker A:

Ask for his help.

Speaker A:

Seek him.

Speaker A:

He's such a giver.

Speaker A:

If he did not.

Speaker A:

If you did not withhold Jesus Christ from you, how's he gonna hold back on other stuff?

Speaker A:

That's how generous he is.

Speaker A:

Maybe you got something you just want to share, Just kind of like rattling around in the mind.

Speaker A:

I saw this.

Speaker A:

I was thinking of this.

Speaker A:

This made me think of this.

Speaker A:

Saw this picture.

Speaker A:

Saw this bumper sticker.

Speaker A:

Saw this thing.

Speaker A:

Really helped me.

Speaker A:

You know those are all cool things, right?

Speaker A:

Maybe you have an answer to trivia.

Speaker A:

Your trivia question is coming out of Genesis, chapter eight, verses six through seven.

Speaker A:

Genesis, chapter eight, verses six through seven.

Speaker A:

What was the first bird that Noah released from the window of the ark and did not return?

Speaker A:

And did not return?

Speaker A:

Was it a raven, a pigeon, a sparrow, or a dove?

Speaker A:

What was the first bird Noah released from the window of the ark?

Speaker A:

Technically, it was a window.

Speaker A:

And did not return, didn't come back.

Speaker A:

Was that a raven, a pigeon, a sparrow, or a dove?

Speaker A:

According to Genesis, chapter 8, verses 6 through 7.

Speaker A:

Make sure to use the reference point.

Speaker A:

That's very helpful for people.

Speaker A:

You can reach out to us if you think you know the answer.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Or.

Speaker A:

Or you can send an email.

Speaker A:

Davidemustincrease.org so one of the things we want to do is make sure everybody stays on board.

Speaker A:

We do have a scheduling change.

Speaker A:

I'm telling everybody ahead of time.

Speaker A:

Thursday, we will be preempted for Texas A and M Aggies men's basketball.

Speaker A:

And that's very important, and we want you to support that.

Speaker A:

And think it's cool.

Speaker A:

So from 1:30 to 2, we're going to be doing an exceptional replay.

Speaker A:

And then from 2 o'clock on will be the game.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Letting you know that that's number one.

Speaker A:

Number two, I need everybody to really be praying.

Speaker A:

I'm going to say a short prayer for Angelina and Keith again.

Speaker A:

We prayed for them yesterday.

Speaker A:

We're gonna pray for them again today.

Speaker A:

And for Rosalind and Robert as they're going through their process.

Speaker A:

Let's just briefly offer before the Lord a prayer.

Speaker A:

And I'd really like you to consider praying for these, for Angelina and for Keith until we have more of an update on what's taking place.

Speaker A:

Okay, let's bring it before the Lord.

Speaker A:

Father, there is none of this that you are unaware of.

Speaker A:

And we love that you know that.

Speaker A:

But you enjoy us so much.

Speaker A:

You want us to come and petition you.

Speaker A:

So we petition you on the behalf of Angelina and on the behalf of Keith, both who are in desperate need of your mercy, grace, and comfort, as well as their families that are surrounding them.

Speaker A:

We're not going to tell you how to do it.

Speaker A:

Just do exactly Jesus as you showed us, Acknowledging the Father, acknowledging the Father can do anything.

Speaker A:

Acknowledging the petition you wanted and then surrender Abba.

Speaker A:

Father, you can do anything.

Speaker A:

We ask for mercy and for peace for Angelina and for Keith, but not as we determine it, but as you determine it based on your will, not ours.

Speaker A:

Help them and their families in this very hard time.

Speaker A:

We petition you on the behalf of all of these brothers and sisters in Jesus name, Amen and Amen.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

So very important to you guys.

Speaker A:

It's very important from my perspective that you guys be a part of this praying part.

Speaker A:

It's like, people are like, yeah, I know, but there's other people praying, you know.

Speaker A:

God, every single prayer you've ever prayed is in a book.

Speaker A:

And every prayer you didn't might be in a book, too.

Speaker A:

I'm not trying to guilt you.

Speaker A:

I'm just saying everything's in a book, just so you can know.

Speaker A:

All right, we do have somebody ready to answer a trivia question.

Speaker A:

Let's go ahead and send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker B:

This is Gary.

Speaker A:

How are you today?

Speaker A:

Good.

Speaker A:

Gary, you know what?

Speaker A:

I thought about you when I was praying and I was going to actually include you, but then you called, so that worked out much better.

Speaker A:

So I can just pray for you separately.

Speaker A:

So that was good.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

Let's do the trivia question first, and then we'll do the praying for you and I'll ask you a question or two.

Speaker A:

Your question.

Speaker A:

What was the first bird Noah released from the window of the ark that didn't return?

Speaker A:

Was it a raven, a pigeon, a sparrow or a dove?

Speaker A:

Was it a raven?

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

A Manila, sir.

Speaker A:

That's the one that didn't return.

Speaker A:

That is right.

Speaker A:

And that was good.

Speaker A:

I can tell you kind of thought it was that.

Speaker A:

But you just wanted to get that extra positive kind of thing on.

Speaker A:

There.

Speaker A:

You are right.

Speaker A:

Excellent job.

Speaker A:

Go with your gut.

Speaker A:

How is the.

Speaker A:

We're going to pray for your health.

Speaker A:

Anything on the circumstance or is that just moving at that same slow galacious movement there?

Speaker A:

But I still got a little more to go, but I do thank God he's working.

Speaker A:

He's working, he's working.

Speaker A:

See, that's good to know, though, but some progress is being made.

Speaker A:

That's great, that's important.

Speaker A:

But let's petition on your behalf as brothers in the Lord, and as your brothers and sisters are listening on this station.

Speaker A:

Let's do it.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now.

Speaker A:

We thank you for Gary.

Speaker A:

We ask your blessing on his life.

Speaker A:

We ask your grace on his life.

Speaker A:

And Lord, we've been praying for you and we'll keep praying for you as long as we have breath.

Speaker A:

We're going to keep petitioning, going to keep asking you for help, just following your word, just being persistent in what you put before us.

Speaker A:

And we do believe that you are not just able, but willing.

Speaker A:

And we ask you to bring resolution to his circumstance, but past that definitive healing into his body, not kind of healing, not a little better.

Speaker A:

Lord, he needs your healing power now.

Speaker A:

You, Jesus, are the same yesterday, today and forever.

Speaker A:

And we don't tell you how and when and all of those things, but we do know it comes from you.

Speaker A:

And we ask you to pour that into Gary's life, into his body, into the inside, outside, and all around him and give him the health that can come from your power.

Speaker A:

That's what we pray.

Speaker A:

And that the circumstances faced that that would stop chugging along and just be done.

Speaker A:

And we lift him up before youe throne and ask youk blessing on him and thank youk for him.

Speaker A:

We pray this in Jesus name.

Speaker A:

Amen and amen.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

God bless you and I'll continue to pray for all of you.

Speaker A:

Thank you, brother, and God bless you.

Speaker A:

Bye bye.

Speaker A:

All right, we're gonna do our DNA.

Speaker A:

You know, we just roll with the show.

Speaker A:

The whole show is half over.

Speaker A:

I just don't Know our DNA.

Speaker A:

DN I'll be a little shorter on this one because I want to get into the teaching a little bit.

Speaker A:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

Every day that ends in why?

Speaker A:

Pick a day.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Speaker A:

Pick a day.

Speaker A:

Any of those days that end in Y.

Speaker A:

Spend time with God.

Speaker A:

Alone time.

Speaker A:

I do want to make that point.

Speaker A:

Separated time.

Speaker A:

The scripture says in Psalm 46, 10, be still and know that I am God.

Speaker A:

Just you and God.

Speaker A:

It's very, very important for the quality of your walk.

Speaker A:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

D N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

There's so much weird stuff going on.

Speaker A:

It just doesn't end with how weird the enemy is attacking in all these different realms.

Speaker A:

,:

Speaker A:

And we need to know it and not be ashamed of it.

Speaker A:

Because the title that Jesus uses in John 1:2 is the word of God.

Speaker A:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

That's the N.

Speaker A:

So D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A Always be ready to serve.

Speaker A:

Just ready.

Speaker A:

Just like we were talking about that first 20 minutes, 25 minutes of the show.

Speaker A:

How that sin really kind of threw off those tenant farmers and got them to thinking really goofy stuff.

Speaker A:

If we would stop being so focused inwardly on what's for us, it's our advantage for us and just be so much more.

Speaker A:

I am a servant of the most High God.

Speaker A:

Help me to serve you.

Speaker A:

Better attitude on an everyday basis.

Speaker A:

We would be less consumed with the things we struggle with.

Speaker A:

We would be more blessed in seeing other people's victories, and we would be pleasing the Lord.

Speaker A:

I think that's just all.

Speaker A:

All good, all the way across.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A Always be ready to serve.

Speaker A:

I want to jump into the scripture real briefly because that's what we're going to do.

Speaker A:

We are in Romans, we are in chapter nine, and we're picking it up.

Speaker A:

I'll pick it up at verse four, but we're going to really focus on the last part of verse four, I think is kind of where I kind of want to head into this is the way I'd like to approach it.

Speaker A:

It says this These are the people.

Speaker A:

They are the people of Israel chosen to be God's special children.

Speaker A:

God revealed his glory to them.

Speaker A:

In case you're not confident Israel got the opportunity to have the manifestation of God so tight, I just want to point this out to you.

Speaker A:

And I don't think maybe we don't appreciate it because we read it and we're like, oh, yeah, God brings a nation out that is captive to another nation.

Speaker A:

Okay, this is the nation that God has chosen.

Speaker A:

These are the descendants of Abraham in bringing that nation out.

Speaker A:

For those that don't remember, it was exactly to the day that God had prophesied that they would be moving out of that nation that brought them into bondage.

Speaker A:

And while they were journeying, they had God walking in front of them and behind them in cloud and in fire.

Speaker A:

Do you have.

Speaker A:

I mean, that is like, wow.

Speaker A:

Wouldn't that be like, yeah, look at that big fireball in front of me.

Speaker A:

Look at that big firebird.

Speaker A:

Look at that cloud following, directing me where to go.

Speaker A:

Look at that fireball behind me.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

Wouldn't you just be like, wowzer?

Speaker A:

This is what we have to remember about God sharing His glory, revealing his glory to them.

Speaker A:

So much glory that Moses, when he's on the mountain, gets the information, comes back and the people are like, dude, turn your face off.

Speaker A:

It's really bright.

Speaker A:

Remember, they didn't have a lot of sunglasses back then.

Speaker A:

So he's like, dude, put a veil over your face.

Speaker A:

It's too bright for us to see God revealing His glory.

Speaker A:

And the rest of that verse says he made covenants with them and gave his law to them by the word.

Speaker A:

Covenants is plural.

Speaker A:

In case you were wondering.

Speaker A:

It is actually plural in the Hebrew and in the Greek as well.

Speaker A:

So God made different agreements at different times.

Speaker A:

Ultimately, it comes down to the old and the new.

Speaker A:

Okay, that's for us.

Speaker A:

Cause we need that because we're that dumb.

Speaker A:

We need it to be broken down that way.

Speaker A:

And then Jeremiah 31 prophesied about the new covenant.

Speaker A:

But the idea behind this is God made these agreements and gave laws to them.

Speaker A:

I'm trying to get all of us maybe on the same page.

Speaker A:

You know, how God brought you to his truth, how you said yes to Jesus and how you've all of a sudden the Word becomes alive and the law of the Lord is perfect, able to restore the soul.

Speaker A:

And you know what's going on.

Speaker A:

And you read the Bible and it becomes like this living book and you're trying to figure it out, and it's all this spiritual stuff going on.

Speaker A:

God only does that with people he likes.

Speaker A:

He doesn't do that with everybody.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Some people reject God and don't want to have anything to do with God.

Speaker A:

He's not going to give it to them in a very real sense without trying to diminish God in his ability to exist apart from us.

Speaker A:

The Lord appreciates being appreciated.

Speaker A:

So he has stretched his heart to yours and touched your heart.

Speaker A:

And God did this with Israel, giving them covenants and his law because he loves them.

Speaker A:

He loved them.

Speaker A:

He loves them and he will love them just like us.

Speaker A:

It's beautiful.

Speaker A:

People get into this stuff and they get all uptight and this, that.

Speaker A:

It's like, calm down.

Speaker A:

to Revelation:

Speaker A:

Love God.

Speaker A:

Boy, if we could figure that out, we'd be miles ahead of things.

Speaker A:

We'll take a short break and then come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break, don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

You may be from a Baptist background, a Pentecostal background, a non denominational background.

Speaker A:

David Spoon has that too.

Speaker A:

You may be from the Church of Christ Presbyterian Methodist Church of God or some other denomination, but if you're looking for a show that's Bible based, spirit led and a bit nutty, then give David a listen for a while.

Speaker A:

If you like it, great.

Speaker A:

If not, no worries.

Speaker A:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

I'm just telling you the truth.

Speaker A:

I'm just being honest, right?

Speaker A:

Because I'll pull for.

Speaker A:

I'm Jewish, I was trained well, and you pull from multiple directions.

Speaker A:

This was one of those things.

Speaker A:

So I kind of needed to recognize that sometimes I'm obnoxious and I need to make up for it.

Speaker A:

And the whole point of me telling you this is sometimes you will do things that doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong.

Speaker A:

But because you didn't have the right spirit going on when it happened, you need to make up for it.

Speaker A:

Now.

Speaker A:

By that I mean this.

Speaker A:

So Noelle found out yesterday that she had to get up at 4:30 this morning because the president of quote, unquote, the company was coming in because they were doing a remodel.

Speaker A:

And her section was one of the sections that are being remodeled.

Speaker A:

So she had to be at work at 6 in order to be there.

Speaker A:

Okay, all right.

Speaker A:

So now I'm already, I'm not in the doghouse or anything.

Speaker A:

I just, you know, feeling like I could have done better.

Speaker A:

So you know what?

Speaker A:

I did?

Speaker A:

And I'm telling you this for a reason.

Speaker A:

I got up at 5 in the morning and I sat with her for about a half hour while she was getting ready.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

And I encouraged her because I knew she was really tired.

Speaker A:

And then she went to work and I went back to bed for at least an hour and a half until the dog said, that's enough out of you.

Speaker A:

Get up.

Speaker A:

You know, that was a whole separate thing.

Speaker A:

The reason that I bring it up is not because I did something brilliant.

Speaker A:

That's exactly not the case.

Speaker A:

The reason that I had to make it up is cause I didn't do something brilliant.

Speaker A:

But it dawned on me that it is okay.

Speaker A:

Or not okay, but it's probably right for you and I, when we're in relationships and we do something that's a little far off or maybe not as authentically Christian as we generally need to be, that we're allowed to make up for it.

Speaker A:

And so what I was trying to do was communicate with her.

Speaker A:

I love you.

Speaker A:

I'm kind of sorry.

Speaker A:

Okay, I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

I'm totally sorry.

Speaker A:

Cause I'm up at 5am that I wasn't like nicer about the whole thing.

Speaker A:

And so whatever happened by getting up at five in the morning last night went, bye, bye.

Speaker A:

And my point in making that, sharing that with you is simply sometimes we can do things that is a way to say, I'm with you or without doing a whole bunch.

Speaker A:

And that will just make some of the dumber things less painful or less dumb.

Speaker A:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Man 770, the Truth Station here in Texas Church.

Speaker A:

True or false?

Speaker A:

So you already got a 50.

Speaker A:

50.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Out of two Timothy three.

Speaker A:

16.

Speaker A:

True or false?

Speaker A:

All scripture is given by inspiration or all scripture is given by the breath of God.

Speaker A:

True or false?

Speaker A:

All scripture is given by inspiration or another common.

Speaker A:

All scripture is given God breathed.

Speaker A:

Given by the breath of God.

Speaker A:

True or false?

Speaker A:

Second Timothy, chapter 3, verse 16.

Speaker A:

Is that true or is that false?

Speaker A:

Let's see if I can get that right.

Speaker A:

Because yesterday I got it wrong when I was working with Brandon.

Speaker A:

It wasn't too brilliant.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

That's 214-210-84, 8, 3.

Speaker A:

Or send an email davidemustincrease.org all scripture is given by inspiration.

Speaker A:

Or all scripture is given by the breath of God.

Speaker A:

Or all scripture is God breathed.

Speaker A:

True or false.

Speaker A:

2 Timothy 3, verse 16.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, I have a couple of jokes.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody that's gonna be calling in, but I do have a couple of jokes that I just gotta do this.

Speaker A:

There's two of these I have to do.

Speaker A:

Some people are out there going, you're supposed to just be teaching.

Speaker A:

I know, but these are really funny jokes.

Speaker A:

And you can use these with people.

Speaker A:

And they're really funny if you let them be funny.

Speaker A:

Cause they are really funny.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right, so we do have some man hold.

Speaker A:

They're going to have to wait.

Speaker A:

I got to do a couple of these jokes, if that's okay.

Speaker A:

Here you go.

Speaker A:

You ready for these?

Speaker A:

Get the buzzer ready.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

What do you get if you cross a cowboy with an octopus?

Speaker A:

Cowboy with an octopus.

Speaker A:

You get Billy the Squid.

Speaker A:

Billy the Squid.

Speaker A:

Not bad.

Speaker A:

Why is Europe like a frying pan?

Speaker A:

Why is Europe like a frying pan?

Speaker A:

Because it has grease at the bottom.

Speaker A:

See?

Speaker A:

At the bottom.

Speaker A:

See?

Speaker A:

See?

Speaker A:

That's the last one.

Speaker A:

Going on a limb on this one.

Speaker A:

Just have to bear with me.

Speaker A:

I never wanted to believe that my dad was stealing from his job as a road worker.

Speaker A:

But when I got home, all the signs were there.

Speaker A:

See that, See that?

Speaker A:

See that?

Speaker A:

Yeah, I probably deserve it on that one.

Speaker A:

All right, we do have some random trivia question.

Speaker A:

Let's send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker C:

Hello, David.

Speaker C:

This is Curtis, my brother.

Speaker A:

How you doing?

Speaker A:

Oh, Curtis, how are you, bro?

Speaker C:

Man, I'm great, David.

Speaker C:

Billy the Squid.

Speaker C:

Oh, Lord, I gotta remember that.

Speaker A:

That is a great one, right?

Speaker A:

I've held that joke for two weeks.

Speaker A:

I love that joke.

Speaker C:

Yeah, the cornier the better.

Speaker C:

The cornier the better.

Speaker C:

And that one's way up there.

Speaker A:

Way up there.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

All right, my friend, I'll set you up and you can answer.

Speaker A:

All scripture is given by inspiration.

Speaker A:

Or all scripture is God breathed or all scripture is given by the breath of God.

Speaker A:

True or false?

Speaker C:

Absolutely true.

Speaker A:

Absolutely true.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

What do we know about the breath of God?

Speaker A:

That's what went into Adam and made him a living being.

Speaker A:

That's something for us to remember, right?

Speaker C:

Absolutely.

Speaker C:

Absolutely.

Speaker C:

Me and my brother have talked about that all the time.

Speaker C:

Like, we discussed wind and air.

Speaker C:

And he's like, curtis, it's all the breath of God.

Speaker C:

And I absolutely believe that.

Speaker A:

Absolutely, absolutely.

Speaker A:

That's why it says the word of God is alive in Hebrews 4:12.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

Excellent job, brother.

Speaker C:

Do I have time for a quick prayer request?

Speaker A:

You do.

Speaker A:

Of course you do.

Speaker A:

Yes, absolutely.

Speaker C:

My dear friend Robin is going in for MRIs today, and I pray that she gets answers and solutions to this whole situation that she's.

Speaker C:

But she's going in for an mri finally.

Speaker A:

All right, so that's Robin, right?

Speaker A:

That's Robin, right?

Speaker C:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

Very nervous about it.

Speaker A:

Let's pray over her.

Speaker A:

Let's pray over her.

Speaker A:

Let's pray.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now.

Speaker A:

I thank you for my brother Curtis.

Speaker A:

I ask you to bless him and thank you for having him use his time to pray for somebody else.

Speaker A:

That's very, very kind.

Speaker A:

He's got other people on his hearts and minds.

Speaker A:

But we lift up Robin to you and, Lord, she needs resolution.

Speaker A:

It's the worst thing is the not knowing, Lord, for every one of us.

Speaker A:

It's just difficult when we don't know.

Speaker A:

Give her some sense of simplistic favorable closure.

Speaker A:

Simplistic favorable closure that it could just be done so just doesn't have to hang over her head.

Speaker A:

Let her not be afraid and let it turn out to be your grace and favor in this situation.

Speaker A:

That's what we're looking for.

Speaker A:

That's what we depend on, and that's what we ask you for.

Speaker A:

In the name of Jesus, amen and amen.

Speaker C:

Amen.

Speaker C:

Thank you, my brother.

Speaker C:

Thank you so much, David.

Speaker A:

You are welcome, brother, and God bless you.

Speaker C:

God bless you, my friend.

Speaker C:

Have a great day.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

Bye bye.

Speaker A:

All right, let me go back into this text.

Speaker A:

We'll go a couple minutes on this, because this is.

Speaker A:

I could really do a long time on this, but I got other stuff I got to cover.

Speaker A:

And then I got to hit you guys up yet again for another offering because we're really low.

Speaker A:

But before we get to all that, I want to go back to this little section right here in the rest of verse four, because we didn't finish.

Speaker A:

He made covenants with them and gave his laws to them.

Speaker A:

And then this is what it says the rest of that verse.

Speaker A:

It says they have the privilege of worshiping him and receiving his wonderful promises.

Speaker A:

Let me explain something to you that I will not pull back on.

Speaker A:

And that is Israel has been given a privilege to worship the Lord and to receive from his phenomenal promises.

Speaker A:

You, too?

Speaker A:

Me too.

Speaker A:

Let's understand this.

Speaker A:

Let's not miss this.

Speaker A:

A big, big Big, big point.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

It is a privilege to worship the Lord.

Speaker A:

I know some people go to church and they think they're doing the church a big favor.

Speaker A:

And for some people, in the way they operate, they think I'm doing the church a favor.

Speaker A:

I'm doing the church a favor.

Speaker A:

By giving, you're being blessed with the privilege to worship God in word, in song, in action, in truth, in treasures, in talent, in time.

Speaker A:

And you are never doing God the favor to worship.

Speaker A:

He is doing you the favor to give you the ability to worship.

Speaker A:

Because without worshiping and connecting to your creator, you have no life.

Speaker A:

That's the truth.

Speaker A:

Your life becomes connected to something that's not eternal.

Speaker A:

Which is why people that make the earth their religion ain't going to last forever, so to speak.

Speaker A:

Because there's going to be a new heavens and a new earth.

Speaker A:

But it's a privilege to worship the Lord.

Speaker A:

It's a privilege for you to.

Speaker A:

And our country is pretty good about it, right?

Speaker A:

We have a lot of openness.

Speaker A:

We have a lot of freedom.

Speaker A:

In other countries, you don't have that.

Speaker A:

It'd be one of those amazing things when people would say, you know, if you were in another country, hey, let's go to church.

Speaker A:

They'd be like, you can't go to church.

Speaker A:

They'll shoot you.

Speaker A:

Like, what?

Speaker A:

Right now, we are highly blessed.

Speaker A:

I know that persecution is growing in the country, but it's not where it is.

Speaker A:

All over the world.

Speaker A:

All over the world.

Speaker A:

It's a lot, lot tougher.

Speaker A:

And I just want to point out it's a privilege for you and I to worship the Lord.

Speaker A:

And not only do we get this honor to spend time with God, which is our blessing, but also then we get to be the recipients of these wonderful promises.

Speaker A:

I mean, God doesn't owe you and I anything.

Speaker A:

I'm so tired of this rubbish.

Speaker A:

The rubbish.

Speaker A:

That's not the word I want to use and you know it.

Speaker A:

The rubbish that we are entitled.

Speaker A:

We are entitled to be zapped for the very first sin and nothing more.

Speaker A:

And by that measure, you could have just been disintegrated.

Speaker A:

But you weren't.

Speaker A:

Because God is merciful, we receive wonderful promises.

Speaker A:

I'll tell you exactly why we receive them.

Speaker A:

Because God is wonderful.

Speaker A:

That's why we receive them.

Speaker A:

We don't deserve them.

Speaker A:

Not worthy of them.

Speaker A:

We're privileged to worship and superbly blessed to receive because he is awesome.

Speaker A:

Well, don't forget about my part.

Speaker A:

Your part?

Speaker A:

You're lucky.

Speaker A:

That's what I'm saying.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Blessed.

Speaker A:

Lucky is the generic term for blessed, right?

Speaker A:

You're blessed.

Speaker A:

Just thank the Lord, right?

Speaker A:

Don't be arrogant, just be thankful.

Speaker A:

Eric sent a text about 70 Christians in the Congo were beheaded.

Speaker A:

You don't have that happen in here.

Speaker A:

People are like, it's all, skip to milieu.

Speaker A:

There's never a problem.

Speaker A:

You have such favor, such grace, appreciate.

Speaker A:

Sometimes when I talk to the Lord, I do say that because I thank Him.

Speaker A:

Most of us thank him, but I do.

Speaker A:

I appreciate what he's done for me and what he's doing for me.

Speaker A:

Tell him.

Speaker A:

Tell him that.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Take a short break and then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

The David spoon experience, in 1st Samuel 5, 6, it talks about the Ark of the Covenant.

Speaker A:

That's where the movie actually, at the end of 1st Samuel chapter 5, that's where the movie, the Raiders of the Lost Ark, that's where they got the whole premise, 70 men when the Ark came back.

Speaker A:

Actually, that's in six.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry, first Samuel six.

Speaker A:

They looked into the ark, which God deemed disrespectful and real life.

Speaker A:

And 70 people died because they looked into the ark on the spot.

Speaker A:

That's from real.

Speaker A:

That's real stuff.

Speaker A:

That's not fake.

Speaker A:

But the idea didn't probably happen the way that they showed it in the movies.

Speaker A:

But okay, at least they tried to portray it, and at least they were accurate about what took place.

Speaker A:

But I think the important part is to understand the Philistine rulers were political leaders.

Speaker A:

They were political leaders.

Speaker A:

They got together for a political solution.

Speaker A:

That's what happened.

Speaker A:

That's what happened.

Speaker A:

The priests got together and made a decision.

Speaker A:

Instead of trying to overcome the power of God, they thought they'd make an offering to God, return the ark to Israel, that spirit spiritual solution worked.

Speaker A:

Got that?

Speaker A:

So political rulers making political decisions, failure.

Speaker A:

Priests making an offering to God and returning things to their proper place.

Speaker A:

Solution.

Speaker A:

That's the key, people.

Speaker A:

I think that's the key.

Speaker A:

That's what we need.

Speaker A:

That's why we need a strong spiritual core in the church.

Speaker A:

Not just you in your church, but the church in large.

Speaker A:

Trust me, trust me when I say this.

Speaker A:

When they start shooting Christians because we're Christians, when it becomes more like China and they start beating us because we're Christians, the denominational issue will fade to the white.

Speaker A:

And for all of the people that say, no, no, that can't Be.

Speaker A:

You are way, way wrong.

Speaker A:

Church history has repeated itself several times.

Speaker A:

It's the exact same thing.

Speaker A:

Keep in mind the church has been around a little longer than America.

Speaker A:

Oh, you tell that to some Christians, they want to shoot you.

Speaker A:

Anyways, the kicker to that is the five rats.

Speaker A:

I think that's the funniest part of all that they actually had to make five golden rats representing the five political leaders.

Speaker A:

A divine humor saying.

Speaker A:

Sometimes political leaders can be like rats.

Speaker A:

That's kind of what that's saying.

Speaker A:

And it's human proclaimed.

Speaker A:

But is it Jesus approved?

Speaker A:

That's the question.

Speaker A:

Ha.

Speaker A:

Anyway, we've had a phenomenal show.

Speaker A:

I'd say, phenom.

Speaker A:

Would you call it phenomenal?

Speaker A:

I call it phenomenal.

Speaker A:

I don't even know what phenomenal.

Speaker A:

Super phenomenal.

Speaker A:

Super phenomenal.

Speaker A:

We've had a super phenomenal show.

Speaker A:

And I just want to say that we really appreciate all of our guests.

Speaker A:

We have a terrific.

Speaker A:

I mean, we have something.

Speaker A:

I got.

Speaker A:

I got something for tomorrow.

Speaker A:

Oh, my goodness.

Speaker A:

It's called the nagging theory.

Speaker A:

You ever heard that?

Speaker A:

It's called the nagging theory.

Speaker A:

For all of those young Jewish boys out there who have grown up in that same kind of process.

Speaker A:

Process, you will understand it's the nagging theory.

Speaker A:

We're going to talk about that and then a few more things about.

Speaker A:

Oh, more things we're going to give away.

Speaker A:

Something interesting happened in Alabama Supreme Court.

Speaker A:

A lot of good political stuff that we've talked about, but mostly Kingdom of God stuff because, you know, everything else compared to advancing the Kingdom of God, everything else is just interesting.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Your next trivia question.

Speaker A:

In Titus chapter 1, verse 15, the apostle Paul wrote, unto the pure, all things are.

Speaker A:

Is the answer gold, righteous, worthy, or pure?

Speaker A:

Unto the pure, all things are gold, righteous, worthy or pure.

Speaker A:

According to Titus 1:15.

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you can reach out to us.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

That is the question.

Speaker A:

Titus 1:15 will be your answer.

Speaker A:

We now send you over to the website and we ask you in the most simplistic terms, if you can give, please do so.

Speaker A:

And if you can give, if you've already given but you feel like you want to give some more, yay.

Speaker A:

If you want to give but you can't give, we get it.

Speaker A:

Totally understand.

Speaker A:

Don't take any weird guilt on it.

Speaker A:

Just keep praying for us.

Speaker A:

That's what we're going to say.

Speaker A:

We live by the donations of our listeners, so we need your help to get there.

Speaker A:

Okay, Check it all out on the website.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org prayer request hemostincrease.org praise report hemustincreased.org looking to give to this ministry.

Speaker A:

Hemustincreased.org confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org you can't have a pie without coolwhip.

Speaker A:

Coolwhip?

Speaker A:

Coolwhip?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

You mean Cool Whip?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Cool Whip.

Speaker A:

Cool Whip.

Speaker A:

Cool Whip.

Speaker A:

Cool Whip.

Speaker A:

Cool Whip.

Speaker A:

You're saying it weird.

Speaker A:

Why are you putting so much emphasis on the H?

Speaker A:

What are you talking about?

Speaker A:

I'm just saying it.

Speaker A:

Coolwhip.

Speaker A:

People are like, you shouldn't have that.

Speaker A:

No, that's too bad.

Speaker A:

That's all I can say.

Speaker A:

Here's my response.

Speaker A:

Oh well, Titus 1:15.

Speaker A:

Paul wrote, Unto the pure, all things are.

Speaker A:

Is that gold, righteous, worthy or pure?

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you can reach out to us.

Speaker A:

Got a lot to cover in a little bit of time, so I want to get right into the text.

Speaker A:

Here we are, back to the text and I want you to follow.

Speaker A:

This is really so powerful.

Speaker A:

Here we are, verse 5 of Romans 9.

Speaker A:

I don't know if you noticed this, but we did two 10 minute teachings on half a verse.

Speaker A:

Okay, so verse five says this.

Speaker A:

Their ancestors is referring to the Jews were great people of God and Christ himself was a Jew as far as his human nature is concerned.

Speaker A:

There should be something that noted here that I don't want anybody to miss at all.

Speaker A:

Paul is writing about Israel.

Speaker A:

Now, I know many of you have read, at least read the Old Testament once or thereabout, have read the history, maybe 1 and 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings, or maybe 1 and 2 Chronicles or Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy or Joshua, any of these, or Judges or any of these.

Speaker A:

And you know, as you read them, some of these people were just like, lights out.

Speaker A:

Fantastic.

Speaker A:

Look, there were a lot of terrible people.

Speaker A:

Don't get the wrong idea.

Speaker A:

And as a nation at large, that wasn't the best, but there were some phenomenal people of God.

Speaker A:

And Paul's argument, their ancestors were great people of God.

Speaker A:

That's cool.

Speaker A:

And then he says, and Christ himself was a Jew as far as his human nature is concerned.

Speaker A:

So all those people that are anti Semitic, what a bunch of dummies.

Speaker A:

When they stand before God, it ain't gonna go well.

Speaker A:

And the worst part about it is not just the people that are anti Semitic who are in different parts of the country, it's the people that are in this country that are anti Semitic, who claim to be Christians.

Speaker A:

Like, not a chance.

Speaker A:

You're about as close to Jesus as you are to a Martian.

Speaker A:

I mean, the whole idea is that, look, Jesus was Jewish.

Speaker A:

What's wrong with you guys?

Speaker A:

How do you not get it?

Speaker A:

God loves the Jewish people.

Speaker A:

We are supposed to love what God loves and hate what God hates.

Speaker A:

People are like, no, you can't say hate.

Speaker A:

You've never read Proverbs.

Speaker A:

Then obviously, six things the Lord hates.

Speaker A:

Yea, seven.

Speaker A:

Just like, that's just dumb.

Speaker A:

And so the ancestors were great people of God.

Speaker A:

I mean, think of King David.

Speaker A:

I mean, yeah, everything's about Bathsheba.

Speaker A:

What about all the things.

Speaker A:

Did he beat Goliath?

Speaker A:

How powerful is that?

Speaker A:

That dude was huge.

Speaker A:

He led the armies.

Speaker A:

He always had victories.

Speaker A:

God was with.

Speaker A:

It's just cool.

Speaker A:

How about Joshua?

Speaker A:

They're gonna march around, march around, march around, march around, march around.

Speaker A:

Ah, the walls fell down.

Speaker A:

Who can believe it?

Speaker A:

You see what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

It's like, these are great people of God.

Speaker A:

And so Paul, he's literally, he's lifting up the true great people of God from the past.

Speaker A:

These ancestors were listening to verse five.

Speaker A:

His ancestors, their ancestors were great people of God.

Speaker A:

How do you not love this?

Speaker A:

And Christ himself was a Jew as far as human nature is concerned.

Speaker A:

How do you not love that?

Speaker A:

Don't tell me God doesn't love the Jewish people.

Speaker A:

That's the stupid.

Speaker A:

That's not even.

Speaker A:

That's not even bad theology.

Speaker A:

I mean, sad theology.

Speaker A:

It's dumb theology.

Speaker A:

That's what it is.

Speaker A:

You want to just take Romans 9 and throw it out?

Speaker A:

Oh, let me know.

Speaker A:

I'm not saying this because it's my back.

Speaker A:

I'm telling you, this is replete in the scripture.

Speaker A:

No, God's not happy with all of them.

Speaker A:

Of course not.

Speaker A:

But God always has a remnant, doesn't he?

Speaker A:

Elijah didn't even think so.

Speaker A:

Nobody's listening.

Speaker A:

Nobody.

Speaker A:

10,000 people that have not bowed the knee.

Speaker A:

God always has a remnant.

Speaker A:

Never forget that.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

In Titus 1:15, Paul wrote, Unto the pure, all things are.

Speaker A:

Is that gold, righteous, worthy, or pure?

Speaker A:

And the answer is pure.

Speaker A:

Unto the pure, all things are pure, but unto them that are defiled is nothing pure.

Speaker A:

All right, we'll take a short break, and then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

Hey, there.

Speaker D:

It's Amazing Jennifer.

Speaker D:

Speaker D:

But sorry, no parking tickets will be paid for you as an ambassador.

Speaker D:

Speaker A:

Own with that, the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

So in this position, I have the opportunity to interview people and have.

Speaker A:

So for the last five years, from all across the range of Christianity, from.

Speaker A:

From authors and from actors and musicians, we are about to have an opportunity we've never had.

Speaker A:

On this show.

Speaker A:

We actually have Lee Strobel on the phone with us.

Speaker A:

It was 19 years ago, I believe this September 1st, where his book came out, the Case for Christ.

Speaker A:

If you're Jewish like I am, and then became a Christian, that was when you went, oy vey.

Speaker A:

This book was a life changer for many.

Speaker A:

And now it's a movie.

Speaker A:

Lee, are you there on the phone with us?

Speaker B:

I am, David.

Speaker B:

How you doing, my friend?

Speaker A:

I am doing fantastic.

Speaker A:

Thrilled to have you on the show.

Speaker A:

It's my privilege.

Speaker A:

I'm just.

Speaker A:

I just.

Speaker A:

We gotta start.

Speaker A:

I know they give you a list of questions just so you can know.

Speaker A:

Lee, I never use them, so.

Speaker A:

Good for you.

Speaker A:

Like, come on.

Speaker A:

I want to tell you, we're brothers here in the Lord, talk to me.

Speaker A:

First of all, you wrote this book, the Case for Christ.

Speaker A:

Let's first talk about the writing of the book and then we'll talk about that connection to the movie.

Speaker A:

Why did you write this book?

Speaker B:

Well, I didn't start out to do that.

Speaker B:

I mean, I was an atheist.

Speaker B:

My wife became a Christian.

Speaker B:

So in order to try to rescue her from this Christian cult, I decided to use my journalism training and legal training and disprove Christianity to show that the resurrection never really happened.

Speaker B:

Of course, I ended up coming to the opposite conclusion and ended up coming to faith.

Speaker B:

But I did this investigation for my own edification, for my own education, not because I wanted to write a book.

Speaker B:

And then it was actually later my wife said to me, hey, you ought to write a book about that.

Speaker B:

I really.

Speaker B:

She said, sure.

Speaker B:

So that's how the book came about.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Man 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Last trivia question in Psalm 103, specifically verse 5, what bird's youth was determined as renewable?

Speaker A:

What bird was it?

Speaker A:

A dove, an eagle, a raven, or a swallow?

Speaker A:

Renewable blood, like what kind of Bird?

Speaker A:

Psalm 103 what bird's youth was renewable?

Speaker A:

Dove, eagle, raven, or swallow?

Speaker A:

Psalm 103.

Speaker A:

5.

Speaker A:

If you think you know the answer, it'd be a good idea to call quickly.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

What bird's youth is renewable, so to speak?

Speaker A:

I'm asking the question goofy because that's how they wrote it.

Speaker A:

But which bird's youth is renewable?

Speaker A:

Is it a dove, an eagle, a raven, or a swallow?

Speaker A:

According to Psalm 103?

Speaker A:

5 number two, quick correction.

Speaker A:

It wasn't 10,000 men that did not bow to the knee of Baal.

Speaker A:

It was 7,000.

Speaker A:

I gave the wrong number.

Speaker A:

After I said 10,000 and we went off and did the fill, I thought, nope, 10,000.

Speaker A:

That's not right.

Speaker A:

So I had to look it up and it was 7,000 men that had not be bowed to the knee of baal.

Speaker A:

So I was off there.

Speaker A:

So I just want to make that correction.

Speaker A:

All right, last thing before we get into the teaching, the answers and the trivia is we will do a very, very brief history.

Speaker A:

Let's go live faith in the past.

Speaker A:

Let's go live faith in the past.

Speaker A:

All right, so we'll do this real fast.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody calling in, so we'll get them.

Speaker A:

Just a second.

Speaker A:

I do want people to be aware that today, technically, is World Plumbing Day.

Speaker A:

You can make fun of it, but without it, you'd be pretty miserable.

Speaker A:

Also, Oatmeal nut waffles day.

Speaker A:

So there is a food in there.

Speaker A:

That's always good to have a food in there.

Speaker A:

of the weirder things, but in:

Speaker A:

So 98 years ago, on this day, the first armored car robbery took place, which is like.

Speaker A:

That's so weird.

Speaker A:

How do they know all that stuff?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

That seems weird.

Speaker A:

Anyway, that's the history.

Speaker A:

That's all we're doing.

Speaker A:

There was only the.

Speaker A:

The only good thing in there was the oatmeal nut Waffles day.

Speaker A:

So that's good.

Speaker A:

Got one food in there.

Speaker A:

All right, we do have somebody ready to answer the trivia question.

Speaker A:

Let's go ahead and send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker A:

Pamela.

Speaker A:

Who's this?

Speaker A:

This is Pamela.

Speaker A:

Hi, Kai.

Speaker A:

How are you?

Speaker A:

I'm fine.

Speaker A:

Oh, I'm glad to hear that.

Speaker A:

All right, you ready for the question?

Speaker A:

I am.

Speaker A:

Okay, I'll set you up for it and then you can answer Psalm 103.

Speaker A:

5.

Speaker A:

What bird's youth is renewable?

Speaker A:

Is it the dove, eagle, raven, or swallow the eagle?

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

Am I now?

Speaker A:

Isn't that right?

Speaker A:

You are right.

Speaker A:

It is an eagle.

Speaker A:

That is it.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Correct, amundo.

Speaker A:

Absolutely.

Speaker A:

100%.

Speaker A:

Isn't that beautiful, though?

Speaker A:

It's like the strength renewable like that of the eagle.

Speaker A:

It's like, yes, I could use that every once in a while.

Speaker A:

How about you?

Speaker A:

Oh, absolutely.

Speaker A:

Excellent job, and thank you so much.

Speaker A:

You did a phenomenal job.

Speaker A:

Thank you for your show.

Speaker A:

Appreciate it.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

You too.

Speaker A:

Bye.

Speaker A:

Bye.

Speaker A:

Awesome.

Speaker A:

Great, great, great call.

Speaker A:

Great, great, great, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

Speaker A:

Okay, let me finish this off.

Speaker A:

This is really good.

Speaker A:

You can't miss this.

Speaker A:

So you know where we just left off?

Speaker A:

We're in verse five, right?

Speaker A:

We're not even going to finish verse.

Speaker A:

We're not even getting to verse six, which is another part of this.

Speaker A:

But look at it.

Speaker A:

Verse 5.

Speaker A:

Their ancestors were great people of God, and Christ himself was a Jew as far as his human nature is concerned.

Speaker A:

Nlt People, if you're trying to figure out what version, and this is what the rest of that verse says.

Speaker A:

And he is God who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

So for those that missed it, and I'm trying to make sure you really don't miss it, I'm going to read it as one segment.

Speaker A:

I want you to hear how it should be read.

Speaker A:

Here's how it should be read.

Speaker A:

And Christ himself was a Jew as far as his human nature is concerned.

Speaker A:

And he is God who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

Jesus is of human and divine origin, not one or the other in the glorified body.

Speaker A:

In his position now, Mary and the Holy Spirit, human and divine, and he is God.

Speaker A:

Some people go, oh, Bible doesn't say Jesus is God.

Speaker A:

If you can't read, then you probably don't want to at least tell people what is being read in the context of.

Speaker A:

It is clear not just from the mouth of Jesus and over way over 10 illustrations, but throughout the New Testament that Jesus is God.

Speaker A:

And when people have a hard time with that, you need to sit there and think, why does that bother them so much?

Speaker A:

That's the first thing you got to pick up on for anybody, like a Jewish guy like me.

Speaker A:

It should be much more bothersome for somebody like me, but it's not.

Speaker A:

It's the most glorious thing there is.

Speaker A:

He is human in his human nature.

Speaker A:

He was Jewish, and he is God.

Speaker A:

And what does he do?

Speaker A:

He rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise.

Speaker A:

And you're thinking, what do you mean he rules over everything?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Wasn't there this passage in Matthew 28: somewhere, about 18, 19 and 20, where he said, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Speaker A:

Go, therefore.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah, that's in the book.

Speaker A:

So I guess he does rule over everything, doesn't he?

Speaker A:

And he's worthy of eternal praise.

Speaker A:

I mean, thank you.

Speaker A:

Jesus should be something that just flies out of our mouth.

Speaker A:

I mean it.

Speaker A:

I'm just so being totally serious about that.

Speaker A:

And just look at this tight little grouping.

Speaker A:

There's two verses that we're covering in Romans.

Speaker A:

Can you imagine if I really got into depth in this?

Speaker A:

I mean, we would still be in Romans 1.

Speaker A:

But the idea behind this is really catching that, look, it is a privilege for you and I to worship God.

Speaker A:

We've received his wonderful promises.

Speaker A:

He's made covenants with Israel and with us, and he's given his lost Israel and to us.

Speaker A:

And guess what?

Speaker A:

He doesn't give that to people you don't like.

Speaker A:

He loves you.

Speaker A:

He likes you.

Speaker A:

He's going to hang out with you for eternity.

Speaker A:

And the truth is, the people that came before us, they were great people of God.

Speaker A:

Some of them were phenomenal people of God.

Speaker A:

Our Jewish heritage, which you have, if you're a Christian, is phenomenal.

Speaker A:

It's just awesome.

Speaker A:

And Jesus in his human nature was Jewish.

Speaker A:

You think that's an accident?

Speaker A:

A son of David?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

And he's God and he rules over everything.

Speaker A:

And he's worthy of eternal praise.

Speaker A:

Never.

Speaker A:

We're never going to get tired of thanking the Lord.

Speaker A:

What's so amazing is what's coming is so amazing.

Speaker A:

And we're so stuck.

Speaker A:

We're stuck in the 90, in the hundred, maybe 110 for some of you, maybe 80 for others of you.

Speaker A:

There's something coming that's so marvelous.

Speaker A:

That's why it's called a living hope.

Speaker A:

And that's what we have through Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

Like, okay, I'll take it.

Speaker A:

Yeah, good idea.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

All right, folks, you in fact have been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Turkey.

Speaker A:

We are going to take a 22 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

More insanity with spoonanity.
