Speaker A:Sound effects placed throughout the show which have nothing to do with life.
Speaker A:But the Bible teaches there's a time to laugh.
Speaker A:In Ecclesiastes 3, 4, the review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.
Speaker A:We hope before this introduction is over, life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance.
Speaker A:Don't do that.
Speaker A:Humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?
Speaker A:You know what?
Speaker A:I'm not sure either.
Speaker A:How about that for an answer?
Speaker A:Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
Speaker A:Living this life, not always easy running in.
Speaker A:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.
Speaker A:My name is David, Dr.
Speaker A:David Spoon.
Speaker A:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
Speaker A:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
Speaker A:Here's the key to the show.
Speaker A:We don't know what we're doing.
Speaker A:We have no idea what's gonna happen.
Speaker A:Don't you know the power was off yesterday?
Speaker A:We didn't have a show, so all of our buttons are sticking and moving slow.
Speaker A:That's what happened.
Speaker A:But you know what?
Speaker A:We don't care.
Speaker A:You wanna know why?
Speaker A:Cause I wanna talk truth with you.
Speaker A:So here we go.
Speaker A:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Speaker A:Many of these questions are designed either to make it easy for you, kind of a nice thought process, or challenge you or even make you think about what the Lord's been doing.
Speaker A:Different things like that.
Speaker A:This is a pretty simple question I think people can answer.
Speaker A:You don't have to tell us, but you're welcome to.
Speaker A:Have you been blessed this week by the Lord?
Speaker A:And if so, how have you been blessed this week?
Speaker A:That's the question.
Speaker A:Has the Lord blessed you?
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, what are we on Wednesday?
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Has the Lord blessed you?
Speaker A:If so, how?
Speaker A:That's the question.
Speaker A:If you have an answer to that or you got an opinion, a comment, a thought, or your own question, don't let it die.
Speaker A:Of loneliness.
Speaker A:Just reach out and give us a call.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Assuming the phone works.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:And when you call that number, well, by golly, you'll end up talking to Jam.
Speaker A:Talking to Jim and Jacob is like feeling confident that you have done your very best.
Speaker A:Thank you, David.
Speaker A:Happy Wednesday.
Speaker A:Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.
Speaker A:I just assumed there's a little dust in the old button aroos so it didn't just jump off for you when you pushed it.
Speaker A:Is that pretty.
Speaker A:Pretty much kind of how that went there?
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:We have some button problems with the board, but we'll get it figured out.
Speaker A:We will get it figured out.
Speaker A:And if we don't, it doesn't matter because we're still going to do the show.
Speaker A:And if the sound effects are a couple seconds later, so what?
Speaker A:It's fine.
Speaker A:You know, that's the thing.
Speaker A:We think it's got to be perfect.
Speaker A:Hey, you know what's got to be perfect?
Speaker A:Not you.
Speaker A:That's why you have, you know, the righteousness of Jesus Christ thrust upon you.
Speaker A:That's why we live by the propitiation of the work of Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:Because you're not perfect by yourself, but in the Lord.
Speaker A:Wow.
Speaker A:That's entirely different, isn't it?
Speaker A:Now, look, we're gonna keep this really, really simple.
Speaker A:We are encouraging you to consider in your own mind and heart how you have been blessed this week.
Speaker A:What does that make you do?
Speaker A:It makes you reflect what has the Lord done and have you acknowledged it?
Speaker A:Because sometimes we have something the Lord does, and you know what we do.
Speaker A:And I'm gonna be honest, I do this too.
Speaker A:I'm working to do better at this.
Speaker A:I just go, thank you.
Speaker A:And it's like really quick 12 seconds.
Speaker A:How about a little extra time showing a little extra appreciation for all the extra things that God does for us?
Speaker A:That's just a good idea.
Speaker A:So here it is.
Speaker A:If you do have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a question, or an answer to that original question, we're just gonna keep it simple.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You are also welcome to Text.
Speaker A:Texting is fun because you can do it at a distance.
Speaker A:You don't have to wait online.
Speaker A:You don't have to worry about any of that stuff.
Speaker A:You just text me.
Speaker A:It comes right here into my little phone.
Speaker A:If My phone works.
Speaker A:Some days it does, some days it doesn't.
Speaker A:I think today it's working.
Speaker A:What do you think?
Speaker A:Yes, I checked before.
Speaker A:It should be working, so we should be okay there.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Again, I did not say Texas.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You can also, by the way, send an email because that's cool too.
Speaker A:David, that's my name with the circle.
Speaker A:He must increase from John 3:30.
Speaker A:He must increase imust decrease.org, because we're a non profit corporation.
Speaker A:So you can call us, text us, email us.
Speaker A:Why would you do that?
Speaker A:It's simple.
Speaker A:Maybe you got an answer to that question, how the Lord has blessed you this week.
Speaker A:A testimony, a praise report, something that has happened that has been a blessing.
Speaker A:I just want to lift up this particular person who sent me a letter that I received today.
Speaker A:Let's just call his name, Pastor S.
Speaker A:And Pastor S.
Speaker A:Wow.
Speaker A:Sent me just a beautiful letter.
Speaker A:And I just want you guys to consider praying for Pastor S.
Speaker A:I'm just going to leave it there as a buddy prayer.
Speaker A:But he blessed me with his letter and I wanted him to know that it was a really cool and encouraging letter.
Speaker A:So here is what I'm gonna say to you.
Speaker A:You can do that for something that Lord's blessed you.
Speaker A:And you can also reach out to us for a prayer request.
Speaker A:Now, sometimes prayer requests get a little tight, so you want it to be private.
Speaker A:In that case, we would send you to the website where you can fill out a form and it says private or public.
Speaker A:But if you also want people who are wonderful prayer warriors praying for you, the listening audience, then just call us up or text us or send an email and we'll do our best to pray for you while we're doing the show.
Speaker A:On top of that, maybe it's just something that happened that was really awesome, something that was really cool.
Speaker A:You just want to share it.
Speaker A:It's great.
Speaker A:Our goal is not complex.
Speaker A:We want to encourage one another in the faith as we see the return of Jesus Christ getting closer and closer.
Speaker A:We are not against politics.
Speaker A:We just focus our angle, our bent.
Speaker A:Our approach is helping people draw closer to the Lord.
Speaker A:Because in the ultimate answer to everything that everybody's got all over the universe, more of God we believe is the best answer always.
Speaker A:And for people that don't know that, often it's because they don't know God.
Speaker A:That's why.
Speaker A:But those of us who Know the deeper in we draw, the deeper in he responds.
Speaker A:It says, draw near to God and he will draw near to you.
Speaker A:And that turns out to be the greatest blessing of all.
Speaker A:That, in fact, is what heaven is going to be about.
Speaker A:And that's why we're bringing in a little bit of heaven under earth.
Speaker A:When we're hanging out with our dad, when they're hanging out with our Messiah, our Savior, our Lord, when we're hanging out with the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's all good, right?
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker A:So if you want to do any of that, you are welcome to again, Pastor S, I'm going to ask you to take him on as a buddy.
Speaker A:What does that mean, as a buddy?
Speaker A:That means over the next week, I want you to pray for him, that the Lord will guide him, bless him, direct him, give him the things he's seeking in the Lord, and grant him favor, of course, always the will of God to be done.
Speaker A:Now, I'm a little bit excited.
Speaker A:Can you tell?
Speaker A:I'll tell you why I'm a little bit excited because we are in Psalm 62, and I don't know if you guys know how cool the Psalms are overall, all 150 of them.
Speaker A:And yes, 119 is the longest, and yes, 117 is the shortest.
Speaker A:But the 60s in the Psalms has some of the coolest stuff.
Speaker A:I mean, I'm going through this study on the 60s in the Psalms.
Speaker A:It's just unbelievable.
Speaker A:And last week we talked about that.
Speaker A:We talked about David.
Speaker A:And David, he has this calm resolve while he's waiting for the salvation of the Lord.
Speaker A:Now again, there are times to petition and bang, bang, bang.
Speaker A:And then there's other times.
Speaker A:Just sit there and go, yes, Lord, I wait upon you with confidence.
Speaker A:We talked about that last week.
Speaker A:David said, truly, my soul silently waits for the Lord.
Speaker A:From him comes my salvation.
Speaker A:Verse 2 on Psalm 62 says this.
Speaker A:He only is my rock and my salvation.
Speaker A:He only is my rock and my salvation.
Speaker A:Now, I think a lot of us understand the salvation part is we become more and more aware of God bringing deliverance for us.
Speaker A:We get that, that he has saved us.
Speaker A:He is saving us, and he will yet save us.
Speaker A:We have been saved from the penalty of sins.
Speaker A:We are being saved from the power of sin.
Speaker A:We will be saved from the presence of sin.
Speaker A:Very, very cool.
Speaker A:But it's really important for us to understand something.
Speaker A:God is our rock.
Speaker A:Now, for those of you that are out there, that are old enough to remember, we're not talking about a pet rock.
Speaker A:That's A very small rock.
Speaker A:We're talking about a gigantic rock.
Speaker A:And he is our rock.
Speaker A:And what that means is he is the steadfast foundation for us that doesn't move.
Speaker A:And what.
Speaker A:Typically, what we'll think is happening is when we go through a circumstance and we're not sure how it all plays out, we think, well, maybe God is over there.
Speaker A:Maybe God is over there.
Speaker A:Maybe he's moving over here.
Speaker A:And I'm not.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:God is a rock.
Speaker A:He is steadfast.
Speaker A:Jesus used this illustration when he talked about people building their house on the sand versus people building their house on the rock.
Speaker A:And what was the big difference?
Speaker A:People who build their house on the rock are able to withstand storms.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:When we build our foundation on the rock, the God that is higher than I.
Speaker A:On my rock, the God that is higher than I.
Speaker A:We are not easily moved.
Speaker A:We are not pushed around.
Speaker A:We are in stability.
Speaker A:We are in a place where we can stand firm, steadfast, as we are commanded in the scripture.
Speaker A:Not easily moved or swayed.
Speaker A:In fact, what David says in the rest of this verse, he says this.
Speaker A:He only is my rock and my salvation.
Speaker A:He is my defense.
Speaker A:Wait, wanna stop right there?
Speaker A:Defense.
Speaker A:If you have a situation and you need to be defended, God is your defender.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit is your defender.
Speaker A:Jesus Christ is your defender.
Speaker A:God the Father is your defender.
Speaker A:Could you get a better team to defend you?
Speaker A:Nope, can't be done.
Speaker A:It says that Jesus is our advocate.
Speaker A:That's the defense attorney right here.
Speaker A:It says that he is our defender.
Speaker A:It says the Holy Spirit is also our advocate.
Speaker A:Another defender.
Speaker A:We are being defended by Lord God Almighty in all these different arenas.
Speaker A:And we don't think of it in those terms.
Speaker A:We think of the Lord's with us and he loves us.
Speaker A:And, you know, that's cool.
Speaker A:And I'm hoping everything breaks down really cool for eternity.
Speaker A:You need to understand that God is your defense.
Speaker A:And that means that there are people on offense against you.
Speaker A:But it don't matter.
Speaker A:If you are stable on the rock and God is truly your defense, he will defend you.
Speaker A:He said, well, I need this.
Speaker A:I need this.
Speaker A:I need this.
Speaker A:I got a message for you.
Speaker A:It's the only attorney you don't have to give all the information to.
Speaker A:He's got all the information.
Speaker A:He's omniscient.
Speaker A:He knows.
Speaker A:So David says, he is my rock and my salvation.
Speaker A:Hallelujah.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:We are saved because he is my defense.
Speaker A:What do I need?
Speaker A:Defense work.
Speaker A:Sometimes I need defending because sometimes I'm an idiot or sometimes My situation gets out of control.
Speaker A:I need my defender.
Speaker A:And David says this.
Speaker A:I shall not be greatly moved.
Speaker A:It's a very interesting statement in the Hebrew when it says I shall not be greatly moved.
Speaker A:It could be and maybe should be alternately translated, I will not be greatly shaken.
Speaker A:Things that happen to you catch you off guard.
Speaker A:I get it.
Speaker A:But you know what you don't have to do?
Speaker A:Tremble.
Speaker A:You know what you don't have to do?
Speaker A:You don't have to sit there and shake because you don't know how it's going down.
Speaker A:You can stand firm in the Lord.
Speaker A:It's like, but, Dave, this relationship is going goofy.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Not bigger than your God, is it?
Speaker A:Maybe it's bigger than your faith.
Speaker A:Oh, did I just say that out loud on the radio?
Speaker A:It's not bigger than God, but maybe because your faith isn't operating, maybe it looks a little bit bigger than your faith.
Speaker A:Here's the answer.
Speaker A:Use more faith.
Speaker A:God is sufficient the way he is.
Speaker A:Do you believe it?
Speaker A:Abraham believed it was willing to sacrifice his son, so much so that he believed that God could raise him from the dead.
Speaker A:Do you believe it?
Speaker A:Is your faith bigger?
Speaker A:Because God's plenty big enough.
Speaker A:We're done there.
Speaker A:But do you believe?
Speaker A:Do you trust?
Speaker A:Do you operate so that you are not greatly shaken?
Speaker A:Oh, it doesn't mean that things don't bug you.
Speaker A:Nobody said that.
Speaker A:It doesn't think things aren't challenging.
Speaker A:Nobody said that either.
Speaker A:But to be shaken versus to be greatly shaken is substantially different, isn't it?
Speaker A:To miss a step is one thing.
Speaker A:To be pushed down is a whole nother.
Speaker A:Well, guess what?
Speaker A:Because he is our defense, because he is our rock, because he is our salvation, not only can we wait for him to do what he wants to do, but we can stand firm on that rock and not be moved.
Speaker A:Isn't this amazing how just these two verses, I mean, it just.
Speaker A:They so connect to us being stable in the Lord.
Speaker A:I think sometimes our instability really comes down to the moment that we stop looking at the Lord and the moment we start looking at the circumstance and just believing it's bigger than anything else.
Speaker A:Back in the day, when I was a younger Christian, they used to use the illustration of the binoculars.
Speaker A:You guys ever use a pair of binoculars?
Speaker A:I have.
Speaker A:So you look in the one end, right?
Speaker A:The small little end.
Speaker A:And then things that are far away, that kind of changes the magnification, right?
Speaker A:So that you can see it better.
Speaker A:I think the enemy uses that, but flips it.
Speaker A:I think he makes us see things that are as bigger than.
Speaker A:They're not actually bigger.
Speaker A:I think he moves it against us and uses his own set of binoculars to help us see things the wrong way.
Speaker A:We need to have our faith enlarged and recognized.
Speaker A:When you see that circumstance, that's not bigger than God, Is it bigger than what God can do?
Speaker A:He who spoke the universe into existence?
Speaker A:Well, if it is, there's something wrong with us because nothing is greater.
Speaker A:Nobody is greater.
Speaker A:No circumstance is greater.
Speaker A:And what do we say all the time?
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:It only takes a moment for a miracle, but do we believe?
Speaker A:I think that question that Jesus asked when that guy was getting healed, just the two blind men, just so powerful.
Speaker A:Do you believe I am able to do this?
Speaker A:So if in your circumstance right now, it's really a little frustrating, you're not sure why it's not coming about the way you think it should, or you're just not understanding it and Jesus is sitting next to you and turns to you and says, do you believe I am able to do this?
Speaker A:Your answer tells you everything you need to know.
Speaker A:Do you believe I am able to do this?
Speaker A:Well, let's see if God is in fact my salvation and my rock and my defense, I think my answer should be, yes, I believe not.
Speaker A:I have believed.
Speaker A:I do believe right now in the faithfulness of God.
Speaker A:Okay, let's do our first trivia question for today.
Speaker A:Which apostle's mother in law was referred to as being taken with a great fever?
Speaker A:Luke 4, 38, 39, 40.
Speaker A:Which apostle's mother in law was referred to as being taken with a great fever?
Speaker A:Was it Peter, Judas, James, or Andrew?
Speaker A:Peter, Judas, James, or Andrew?
Speaker A:Luke 4, 38, 39, and 40.
Speaker A:That is your opportunity to answer the trivia question.
Speaker A:And let's see if you want to call us an answer.
Speaker A:You can do that.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You can also text.
Speaker A:Well, by golly, Dave, can I text?
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Also, you can send an email.
Speaker A:Davidemusincrease.org now, it looks like somebody's calling in, so we're gonna see what's going on there.
Speaker A:Now, remember, our power went out, so not all the buttons are working perfectly.
Speaker A:So everybody take a deep breath as jamming Jacob is trying to bring everything up to snuff, even though it's true our particular board was right around the brontosaurus time.
Speaker A:So just be aware of that.
Speaker A:In the meantime, before we do take a call or anything else, I am going to send you to the website because our ministry exists by your generosity and that's how we function.
Speaker A:So we're asking everybody who has given and has not given to prayerfully consider giving.
Speaker A:And if you can't give, then you can pray for us and join us by doing that.
Speaker A:We appreciate that.
Speaker A:We would encourage you to be aware that on the website is the place to get that information on giving.
Speaker A:It's just a donate now button or donate here.
Speaker A:Additionally, there are some really cool things on the website.
Speaker A:Free 100% for you to use anytime and just decidedly geared towards encouraging you in the Lord.
Speaker A:So we want you to check it out.
Speaker A:The scripture for giving today is Luke 6:38.
Speaker A:Give and it will be given to you.
Speaker A:Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over will be put into your lap.
Speaker A:For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Speaker A:That's a promise from the Lord.
Speaker A:That's pretty cool.
Speaker A:All right, check it all out on the website.
Speaker A:Hemustincrease.org prayer request hemostincrease.org praise report.
Speaker A:Hemostincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.
Speaker A:Hemustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.
Speaker A:Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org you're still here.
Speaker A:It's over.
Speaker A:Go home.
Speaker A:Yeah, that'd have been good for yesterday's show because we didn't have a show.
Speaker A:I mean, that makes sense there.
Speaker A:All right, we do have somebody on the line ready to answer the trivia question.
Speaker A:Let's go ahead and send them on through.
Speaker A:Knock knock.
Speaker A:This is David.
Speaker A:Who am I talking to?
Speaker B:Hello, this is Jamie.
Speaker A:Hi, Jamie.
Speaker A:Hi, how are you?
Speaker B:I'm just peachy.
Speaker A:You're peachy.
Speaker A:I like it.
Speaker A:I like.
Speaker A:That's a great answer.
Speaker A:Peachy.
Speaker A:Thanks.
Speaker A:I love it.
Speaker A:All right, let me set up the question for you and then you can answer it and then we'll see how you're doing.
Speaker A:All right, let's do it real simply.
Speaker A:Which apostle?
Speaker A:Let me name them all.
Speaker A:Which apostle's mother in law was referred to as being taken with a great fever?
Speaker A:Is that Peter, Judas, James or Andrew?
Speaker B:I would choose a Cephas Simon Peter.
Speaker A:That is correct, Emmanuel.
Speaker A:You are right.
Speaker A:That is it.
Speaker A:Simon Peter is like.
Speaker A:And yes, I understand that some of people that listen to the show are like, well, wait, I thought he wasn't married.
Speaker A:Kind of tough to have a mother in law if you're not married the last time I checked.
Speaker A:But things could have been different then.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:No, they weren't.
Speaker A:So anyway, that's an excellent job and an excellent answer, and I have to give you a golf clap for that.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:Ready?
Speaker A:Nice job.
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker A:Thank you.
Speaker A:Thank you for calling, making it a blessing.
Speaker B:You have helped me tremendously.
Speaker B:This afternoon.
Speaker B:I had a 30 minute drive.
Speaker B:I'm just pulling up to my dentist for an hour of drilling and I was apprehensive and listening to you.
Speaker B:Help me chill, dude.
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker A:Praise the Lord.
Speaker A:You be strong.
Speaker A:The Lord is with you.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Excellent job.
Speaker A:Great.
Speaker A:Grateful.
Speaker B:Bye now.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Bye bye.
Speaker A:God bless you.
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Wonderful job.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:I mean, is that cool or what?
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Don't you love stuff like this?
Speaker A:This is the stuff that I love.
Speaker A:It's like, look at, look at what David said and look at what he says in this very first part.
Speaker A:He goes, truly my soul silently waits for God.
Speaker A:From him comes my salvation.
Speaker A:From him comes my salvation.
Speaker A:He only is my rock and my salvation and my defense.
Speaker A:I will not be greatly moved or I will not be greatly shaken.
Speaker A:That's just, you see, the reason that we get that, I want to just make sure you understand that the reason that we get to have that is because he loves us.
Speaker A:It's not because you're brilliant.
Speaker A:It's not.
Speaker A:You're better than this person.
Speaker A:You're worse than this person.
Speaker A:You're this, this, this.
Speaker A:Oh, stop already.
Speaker A:Stop, stop, stop.
Speaker A:You get the benefit and the gracious and the kindness and the coolness and the awesomeness from God because he loves you.
Speaker A:And you know what?
Speaker A:In your heart, even though you've got to wrestle through some things, you know he loves you.
Speaker A:It was an old Pentecostal line.
Speaker A:Oh, I know that.
Speaker A:I know that.
Speaker A:I know that.
Speaker A:I know that.
Speaker A:I know.
Speaker A:There's something to be said for that.
Speaker A:There's something to be, you know, appreciated about.
Speaker A:That doesn't mean that it's wrong or anything.
Speaker A:It's just a great line.
Speaker A:I know that.
Speaker A:I know that.
Speaker A:I know that.
Speaker A:I know that.
Speaker A:I know.
Speaker A:You should know.
Speaker A:He loves you so much.
Speaker A:He is there.
Speaker A:You can wait.
Speaker A:You don't have to be frantic.
Speaker A:Look at all the stuff that's going on in the world.
Speaker A:If you obsess in this, and I don't care what political side you are, if you obsess in this stuff, you will be greatly shaken.
Speaker A:But if you are steadfast in the Lord, if He is your rock, if he is your salvation, if he is your defense man, you are good to go.
Speaker A:Nay in all these things.
Speaker A:Romans 8:37 says, Nay in all these things.
Speaker A:How many?
Speaker A:All.
Speaker A:How many is all?
Speaker A:All in all these things.
Speaker A:We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Speaker A:It's through Jesus that we get to do all of this cool stuff, including conquer.
Speaker A:Oh, I love it.
Speaker A:Because God is with us.
Speaker A:And if he's with you, who can be against you?
Speaker A:And who cares?
Speaker A:There you go.
Speaker A:All right, we'll take a short break, then we'll come back.
Speaker A:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Don't go anywhere.
Speaker A:Let's get into our text.
Speaker A:Colossians chapter.
Speaker A:We covered everything, right?
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Colossians chapter 3, verses 2 through 4.
Speaker A:Whatever you do, or I'm sorry, it's actually Colossians 3:24.
Speaker A:Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically.
Speaker A:Is something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord because you serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:The scripture tells us that whatever we do.
Speaker A:Now, I've.
Speaker A:We've gone through this a couple of times, and we have to go through it multiple more times to really grasp it.
Speaker A:But that phrase whatever we do happens to mean whatever we do.
Speaker A:That's what it means.
Speaker A:And we're supposed to do it enthusiastically with an eagerness.
Speaker A:Not with an obnoxiousness, with an eagerness to do it as unto the Lord.
Speaker A:So the things that we're required to do that we have to do, there should be a disposition and attitude of enthusiasm that is connected to the Lord.
Speaker A:It's not that you like to do everything, but if you can understand that in the doing of it unto the Lord, you're doing it with a different priority in mind.
Speaker A:You understand that?
Speaker A:In other words, what you do, do it unto the Lord and do it with this attitude of a full heart and an eagerness.
Speaker A:I had somebody, I'll say her name, Suzy Lopez was at kprc.
Speaker A:She was the direct marketing director.
Speaker A:Susie did, the marketing director for San Diego.
Speaker A:She said something to me one time that was so profoundly simple, it was irritating because I had to do something for a client because that's what you had to do at Salem.
Speaker A:And I was like, blah.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:So she said, dave.
Speaker A:She goes, if you can't get out of it, get into it.
Speaker A:And it was like, that was really good advice.
Speaker A:If you can't remove yourself from it and you have to do it, at least do it right.
Speaker A:I mean, do what you're going to do, and do it with the right attitude, do it with the right spirit, do it with this better mindset.
Speaker A:And I think she was more right than wrong.
Speaker A:No, I'm not talking about doing bad things or anything like that.
Speaker A:That's weird stuff.
Speaker A:I'm talking about doing it as unto the Lord and recognizing that when you do it that way, it is from the Lord and only the Lord that you will receive the true eternal reward.
Speaker A:You might go through whatever your process is, but when you do it as unto the Lord, you can recognize that the Lord is the one that brings the reward.
Speaker A:And that's just living your life for the Lord.
Speaker A:That's just good, right?
Speaker A:I mean, that can't be a bad thing.
Speaker A:The David Spoon experience.
