02-18-2025 part 1: Unlocking Authority: The Divine Source Behind Jesus' Teachings

This podcast episode delves into the profound theme of hope and its significance in our lives as Christians. We engage in a pivotal discussion centered around the question, "What gives you the most hope for the future?" This inquiry serves as a catalyst for reflection and dialogue, encouraging listeners to contemplate the sources of their optimism and faith. As we navigate through various topics, including spiritual reflections and biblical trivia, we emphasize the importance of understanding one's authority—whether it be personal, scientific, or divine—as it profoundly influences our perspectives and responses. Ultimately, we aim to foster a community where shared experiences and insights can inspire and uplift, reinforcing the essence of faith in a complex world.

The theme of authority emerges prominently in this episode of the David Spoon Experience, as the host delves into the complexities of understanding and recognizing spiritual authority. Drawing from the biblical narrative, Dr. Spoon elucidates the interactions between Jesus and the religious leaders, who challenge His authority. By posing a critical question regarding the source of Jesus' authority, the episode invites listeners to reflect on their own foundations of belief. Through a methodical examination of scriptural texts, Dr. Spoon articulates the significance of grounding one's faith in the Word of God, contrasting it with the subjective nature of personal feelings and societal norms. The episode serves as a call to discern the sources of authority that inform one's faith journey, ultimately guiding listeners to a deeper appreciation of Jesus' teachings and the transformative power of divine authority in their lives.

Speaker B:

Hello, everybody.

Speaker A:

When it's cold outside, I've got.

Speaker A:

Here's what's coming up on today's experience.

Speaker A:

It's Dr.

Speaker A:

Dave's.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

Dr.

Speaker A:

As in doctorate, as in wow.

Speaker A:

That took a long time to get to Dr.

Speaker A:

Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DD DDDD's, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.

Speaker A:

Sound effects plays throughout the show which have nothing to do with life, but they're cheap, they're funny, and it's cool to laugh.

Speaker A:

The review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.

Speaker A:

Just take a look around.

Speaker A:

You can tell.

Speaker A:

Getting closer.

Speaker A:

Life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?

Speaker A:

I'm going to answer that question with a question.

Speaker A:

Why not?

Speaker A:

Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.

Speaker A:

Welcome.

Speaker A:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, Local, national and heavenly talk.

Speaker A:

My name is Dr.

Speaker A:

David Spoon.

Speaker A:

I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.

Speaker A:

Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.

Speaker A:

Here is the key to the show.

Speaker A:

We don't know what we're doing.

Speaker A:

We have no idea what's gonna happen.

Speaker A:

We don't care.

Speaker A:

But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk hope with you.

Speaker A:

So here we go.

Speaker A:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

Speaker A:

And speaking of hope, here is your question right now.

Speaker A:

What gives you the most hope for the future?

Speaker A:

What gives you the most hope for the future?

Speaker A:

What is it that gives you the most hope for what's coming?

Speaker A:

It's a pretty straightforward question.

Speaker A:

If you have an answer, an opinion, a comment, or your own thoughts on it, or even your own questions, don't let it die of loneliness.

Speaker A:

Just reach out and give us a call.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like talking to a person that you can count on.

Speaker A:

Aw, that's so nice.

Speaker B:

Thank you, David.

Speaker B:

Happy Tuesday.

Speaker A:

Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.

Speaker A:

We should probably notify the people who are listening.

Speaker A:

We do have a modified schedule.

Speaker A:

Tomorrow will be an exceptional replay, but it will be a replay.

Speaker A:

So you're going to be kind of just hanging around, doing stuff, right?

Speaker A:

Just like throwing like, you know, paper into baskets and trying to score little baskets.

Speaker A:

Is that what you're going to do?

Speaker B:

I can go and I can add that to my schedule.

Speaker A:

I think you probably should.

Speaker A:

It'd probably be more entertaining than that NBA All Star Game.

Speaker A:

So you might as well just try that.

Speaker A:

You just pretend that you're just everyone is a game winner.

Speaker A:

That's all.

Speaker A:

Just try that.

Speaker A:

I think that'd be fun.

Speaker B:

I will.

Speaker B:

I will try that.

Speaker B:

And like you said, it'll be better than the All Star Game.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's not a lot of question there.

Speaker A:

All right, so here's the bottom line.

Speaker A:

The bottom line is simply tomorrow Dave is taking some extra time off.

Speaker A:

I actually have been praying about at some point because I've never really done this.

Speaker A:

I've prayed about taking a sabbatical.

Speaker A:

I don't know when that's going to happen or how that's going to happen or what that means, but I've been praying about it.

Speaker A:

In regards to tomorrow, though, a phenomenal replay, but it will be a blessing, I promise you.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, we have stuff to do today, and so let's stay tuned and stay focused.

Speaker A:

We're telling you, if you want to give us a ring.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Pretty easy, not complex.

Speaker A:

Additionally to that, you can text.

Speaker A:

Now, why would you text?

Speaker A:

Well, I'll tell you that in a second, but let's understand what the text number is.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

That, by the way, again, is also the ministry line, but during the show, it's just for texts.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

So you can call, you can text, and you can also email live during the show.

Speaker A:

Davidemustincrease.org that's David.

Speaker A:

David, that's my name.

Speaker A:

@hemustincrease.org, org because we're a nonprofit corporation, he must increase from John 3:30.

Speaker A:

Davidemustincrease.orp you can call, you can text, you can email, though.

Speaker A:

Why would you do that?

Speaker A:

Simple.

Speaker A:

You can answer that question I asked you.

Speaker A:

What gives you the most hope for the future?

Speaker A:

What is it?

Speaker A:

Who is it?

Speaker A:

How does it happen?

Speaker A:

Just think it through so you can answer it.

Speaker A:

You can answer that question.

Speaker A:

You can also share A praise report.

Speaker A:

Something the Lord has done that is phenomenal and has blessed you.

Speaker A:

And when you share it, it blesses others, it encourages you, but it honors God.

Speaker A:

Isaiah 43:7, we were created for the glory of God and that brings glory to his name.

Speaker A:

Perhaps you've got a prayer request.

Speaker A:

It's amazing because many prayer requests are ultimately turn into praise reports.

Speaker A:

But you've got something going on.

Speaker A:

We will join you in prayer and petition our Heavenly Father.

Speaker A:

Generous.

Speaker A:

He's so generous.

Speaker A:

If he gave us his son Jesus Christ, how will he not also give us all things?

Speaker A:

Romans 8:32.

Speaker A:

We'll pray, we'll ask, we'll petition.

Speaker A:

Maybe you've got something you just want to share.

Speaker A:

Something's on your mind, something that's on your heart.

Speaker A:

Awesome.

Speaker A:

Do it.

Speaker A:

Let your brothers and sisters participate.

Speaker A:

Don't forget about Feb Buddies.

Speaker A:

Feb Buddies, what's that, Dave?

Speaker A:

Feb Buddies is when you hear somebody, somebody that we pray for, somebody that calls in, somebody that comes across your mind as you're listening to the show.

Speaker A:

We ask you to take that person on as a prayer, pray for them, mention them before the Lord.

Speaker A:

It's not a complex thing.

Speaker A:

It's between you and God.

Speaker A:

Nobody else knows.

Speaker A:

Just do it so that you can be engaging and loving on the people of God.

Speaker A:

By this we know we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren.

Speaker A:

When you learn and we grow in this process of loving the very people of God, it's an affirmation and a confirmation and assurance to the activities of our faith and our future.

Speaker A:

Pretty cool.

Speaker A:

That's not too shabby.

Speaker A:

Now we are going to open this particular show with some prayer with some of our classic people that have been with us for a while.

Speaker A:

We're going to be praying for Al and his family going through some sickness, doing a little better, but they just need a little bit of peace and grace in the household.

Speaker A:

And we're also going to pray for our very own Rosalind and Robert and Angelina because they need to have wisdom and how to approach things as well.

Speaker A:

So let's come before the Lord.

Speaker A:

Take your faith, take your 75 cent faith.

Speaker A:

Put it together with my 50 to $1.50 faith.

Speaker A:

Everybody else puts in their amount.

Speaker A:

We'll collectively put them all together.

Speaker A:

We'll petition God and ask because without faith, it's impossible to please God.

Speaker A:

For those who come to God must believe that he is and a rewarder of those who seek him.

Speaker A:

So let's do that.

Speaker A:

Let's pray.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now we thank you.

Speaker A:

We praise you.

Speaker A:

Your grace and your mercy are amazing.

Speaker A:

You have protected us, kept us, watched over us.

Speaker A:

You've probably saved our lives countless times that we know nothing about.

Speaker A:

Lord, you give us graces we can't even understand.

Speaker A:

And, Father, we come before you and we petition and we want to acknowledge first, though hallowed be thy name.

Speaker A:

Praise unto you.

Speaker A:

Glory unto you.

Speaker A:

You're the best.

Speaker A:

We love you and we're sorry for the dumb things that we do and say and think, but we depend on you.

Speaker A:

We depend on your grace.

Speaker A:

We depend on your mercy.

Speaker A:

We lift up Al's family to you, Lord, and they need some more health in that family.

Speaker A:

They've had some problems there, and they need peace, a real spirit of peace.

Speaker A:

And Jesus, since you're the prince of peace, there's no better place to go but to you.

Speaker A:

So we ask you, we ask you, Jesus, to intervene in that household and bring peace.

Speaker A:

And we thank you for it, since you have all the peace to give.

Speaker A:

And, Father, we petition you right now for Angelina and for her health, for Robert and for Rosalind, for Robert's stomach still not feeling great, and for Rosalind, just to be able to know what it is that she's encountering and make sure she makes the right decision, steps in the right direction, and for grace and mercy to be in this household as well.

Speaker A:

Lord, so many times, Jesus, when you showed up, the first thing you said was peace.

Speaker A:

That's what we're praying for, these families, that you would manifest your peace, since it is the gospel of peace.

Speaker A:

We just trust you.

Speaker A:

We entrust it into your hands.

Speaker A:

We commit it into your hands.

Speaker A:

We're not taking it back.

Speaker A:

We're putting it in your lap.

Speaker A:

We're casting our care unto you.

Speaker A:

We thank you for caring, Father.

Speaker A:

We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Speaker A:

Amen and amen.

Speaker A:

Okay, thank you, everybody, for praying along with me.

Speaker A:

I greatly do appreciate that we are going to be jumping into Matthew chapter 21, picking it up at verse 23.

Speaker A:

And I'm going to say this in a kind of a weird way.

Speaker A:

I want you to bear with me.

Speaker A:

I want you to stick with me as best you can.

Speaker A:

I'm going to try and teach you something about every one of us that I think I get a little bit, and maybe I can share it with you a little bit, and maybe you can catch it a little bit.

Speaker A:

That'll all depend on the grace of God in this situation.

Speaker A:

But Matthew:

Speaker A:

When Jesus returned to the temple.

Speaker A:

When Jesus returned to the temple and began teaching, the leading priests and the other leaders came up to him.

Speaker A:

They demanded, by whose authority did you drive out the merchants from the temple?

Speaker A:

Who gave you such authority?

Speaker A:

So I want us to think back just for a little bit.

Speaker A:

You recognize we've already passed the teaching on the fig tree where Jesus mentions that we have to believe and not doubt.

Speaker A:

Now what's taking place is the religious leaders are coming back and they're challenging Jesus because they're having kind of a hard time pinning him down.

Speaker A:

So Back to Matthew:

Speaker A:

We see the authority, the authority figures of the temple challenging Jesus.

Speaker A:

Authority.

Speaker A:

They're challenging it.

Speaker A:

And so the leading priests, the other religious leaders are like, what?

Speaker A:

Where you get what?

Speaker A:

How can you do this?

Speaker A:

So they decide to pull out the stops and just ask him, by whose authority are you doing this?

Speaker A:

By whose authority did you drive the merchants out from the temple?

Speaker A:

Can we just keep score together for a second?

Speaker A:

These are not the actions of a pacifist.

Speaker A:

He drove people out of the temple.

Speaker A:

He used a whip.

Speaker A:

He turned over the tables.

Speaker A:

We're not talking about plastic tables that we set up when we play cards with one another.

Speaker A:

He turned over the tables, drove the people out, drove the animals out, cleared out the temple.

Speaker A:

That's some powerful stuff.

Speaker A:

And so Jesus drives them out of the temple.

Speaker A:

So now the religious leaders and the priests are like, who gave you this authority?

Speaker A:

Who gave you.

Speaker A:

Now we're gonna get into Jesus response.

Speaker A:

But I wanna tell you something that is absolutely true.

Speaker A:

It has never failed to be true in my entire Christian life, and that is this.

Speaker A:

You can always tell in a conversation with somebody where they're going to come from before they say a word.

Speaker A:

If you find out one thing, what's their authority?

Speaker A:

Did you hear that?

Speaker A:

What's their authority?

Speaker A:

In other words, what is it that they base it on?

Speaker A:

Do they base it on their own thinking, Their own feeling?

Speaker A:

Do they base it on science?

Speaker A:

Do they base it on their life experience?

Speaker A:

Do they base it on the word of God?

Speaker A:

And you think, why would that be important?

Speaker A:

Because people that base it on life experience, you can simply say, so you have everything that you understand in all truth based on you.

Speaker A:

And you think you're flawless enough to use that same argument for science, same argument for every other thing?

Speaker A:

Well, that's the way I feel about it.

Speaker A:

So your feelings are essentially your God.

Speaker A:

Oh, Dave, that's a mean tactic.

Speaker A:

It's not a mean tactic.

Speaker A:

When a person has the word of God as their Authority, they say it.

Speaker A:

to Revelation:

Speaker A:

You don't have to ask in a mean way.

Speaker A:

Let me stop that right there.

Speaker A:

Some reason there's a lot of glee when we win the argument.

Speaker A:

I won.

Speaker A:

Stop that.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

You want people to get saved.

Speaker A:

You want people to know Jesus.

Speaker A:

You want them to understand.

Speaker A:

You want people that are stuck in parts of the truth to get the truth.

Speaker A:

And even when Apollos knew a lot about the kingdom, he was also taken aside by other Christians.

Speaker A:

And he was then taught more deeper elements to the truth.

Speaker A:

And because he was part of the truth, he received it.

Speaker A:

No problem.

Speaker A:

But what I'm trying to tell you is what your authority is dictates how every answer is coming out.

Speaker A:

If your authority is government, you will answer every question under the guise of government.

Speaker A:

If it's science, very same thing.

Speaker A:

If it's God, very same thing.

Speaker A:

So they want to know what his authority is.

Speaker A:

And I think it's a fascinating question because I've asked that to people in conversations.

Speaker A:

Well, what do you base that on?

Speaker A:

What's that based on?

Speaker A:

Well, it's based on.

Speaker A:

And then what they answer, that's where they're coming from.

Speaker A:

That's how you can tell where they're going to go in all that conversation, you know, ahead of time.

Speaker A:

What's based on my feelings.

Speaker A:

So based on your feelings, when you drank too much and you threw up, you thought you were going to die.

Speaker A:

Was that accurate?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Okay, so it's very interesting element, a very tactical element.

Speaker A:

But they're still trying to pin Jesus down.

Speaker A:

And what does Jesus, he's so good.

Speaker A:

How do you not love?

Speaker A:

He's just so brilliant.

Speaker A:

I mean, it's brilliant.

Speaker A:

Listen to what Jesus says to these guys.

Speaker A:

It's like fascinating verse 24.

Speaker A:

I'll tell you who gave me the authority to do these things if you answer one question.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

You see, Jesus is not your average Joe Shmiel.

Speaker A:

So they're sitting there and they're asking, by whose authority?

Speaker A:

And Jesus in his response, tell you.

Speaker A:

I'm going to tell you who gave me the authority to do these things.

Speaker A:

As soon as you answer one question, I will answer for you.

Speaker A:

So for those who are keeping score, yet again, Jesus answers a question with a question.

Speaker A:

So whenever your English teacher told you, you are being rude because you're not supposed to answer a question with a question.

Speaker A:

All you have to do is remember, you're just trying to be like Jesus.

Speaker A:

Here's a great one.

Speaker A:

Why do you believe Jesus?

Speaker A:

I'll answer you as soon as you answer me.

Speaker A:

Why don't you believe in Jesus?

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker A:

That is mean, Dave.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it's pretty funny, actually.

Speaker A:

But the reality check is he puts them on the spot.

Speaker A:

When we come back, we're going to figure out what's going on there.

Speaker A:

But before we do anything else, we are going to go into our first trivia question.

Speaker A:

This is out of judges 8:30, what judge had 70 sons?

Speaker A:

Judges 8:30, what judge Had 70 sons?

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

You can also text and some people really enjoy that and we think it's cool too.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Davidmustincrease.org what judge had 70 sons according to judges 8:30.

Speaker A:

If you think you know, reach out and tell us.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, what are we going to do?

Speaker A:

We're going to send you up to the website.

Speaker A:

I was talking to my wife about this today and I said, I want to make sure that I tell people the proper way, things that are going on, and so on and so forth.

Speaker A:

And she gave me some really good insight.

Speaker A:

She said, just tell them.

Speaker A:

I always thought that was really good.

Speaker A:

What a brilliant thought that is.

Speaker A:

Here it is.

Speaker A:

It's very simple.

Speaker A:

We need the donations of our listeners to keep the ministry going.

Speaker A:

Period.

Speaker A:

There's nothing else to be said.

Speaker A:

We want it to keep going.

Speaker A:

We love doing it.

Speaker A:

It's tons of fun.

Speaker A:

We've gone through a little bit of a dry spell, which is not my favorite thing.

Speaker A:

But I am counting on the Lord and you and whatever the Lord wants from me to move forward in the Lord so we can keep doing ministry.

Speaker A:

Here's the passage that goes with today's giving.

Speaker A:

2nd Corinthians 8:3 I testify according to their ability and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord.

Speaker A:

I never want you to give to this ministry or any ministry in a begrudging fashion, in a manipulated fashion, or in some kind of requirement fashion.

Speaker A:

You give because the Lord is with you.

Speaker A:

You do.

Speaker A:

You get that?

Speaker A:

You give because the Lord is encouraging you.

Speaker A:

That's what we encourage.

Speaker A:

Check it out on our website, by the way.

Speaker A:

That's a place to give.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org Prayer Request hemostincreased.org Praise Report looking to give to this ministry, he mustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

He must increase.org hemustincrease.org I mean, come on.

Speaker A:

It's just so happy.

Speaker A:

Don't tell me that's not happy music.

Speaker A:

You can tell me all the things that are going on in politics and everybody going, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and all that garbage.

Speaker A:

And it's like.

Speaker A:

And then you just hear that do.

Speaker A:

It's just like, okay, it just kind of resolves things.

Speaker B:

It makes you just want to happily walk down the street.

Speaker B:

But not right now because it's freezing outside, right?

Speaker A:

But I mean, you're just thinking, you know, I'll walk down, I'll take a fishing pole.

Speaker A:

I'll just go to a, you know, a little water hole and I'll just fish.

Speaker A:

It's just so nice.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I think that tells you, though, the impact that some of these things have that we hear, right?

Speaker A:

It's like, that's just like, oh, it's cheery.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it is cheery.

Speaker A:

Okay, back to the trivia question and back to the teach.

Speaker A:

There is no stopping today.

Speaker A:

I can just tell you right now.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

Here's the teach, or here's the trivia question.

Speaker A:

The trivia question is which or what judge?

Speaker A:

Which judge wouldn't matter had 70 sons, according to Judges 8:30.

Speaker A:

Which son or which judge had 70 sons?

Speaker A:

Judges 8:30.

Speaker A:

If you think, you know, reach out to us quickly, though.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

I mean, he's just so smart.

Speaker A:

I mean, I'm just.

Speaker A:

This is.

Speaker A:

So here's what happens, Jesus, I'll tell you who gave me the authority to do these things.

Speaker A:

If you answer one question, Jesus replied, did John's baptism come from heaven or was it merely human?

Speaker A:

Now remember who it is they're talking to, right?

Speaker A:

This is great, right?

Speaker A:

So this is what happens.

Speaker A:

He says, okay, John's baptism from heaven or merely human?

Speaker A:

Which one?

Speaker A:

Which one?

Speaker A:

Which one?

Speaker A:

They talked it over among themselves.

Speaker A:

If we say it was from heaven, he will ask why we didn't believe him.

Speaker A:

But if we say it was merely human, we'll be mobbed because the people think he was a prophet.

Speaker A:

So they replied, we don't know.

Speaker A:

That was their reply.

Speaker A:

Listen.

Speaker A:

He asks them straightforward, john's baptism from heaven or merely human?

Speaker A:

So you're talking about putting them in a corner.

Speaker A:

They say among themselves, well, gosh, if we say from heaven, he's going to go, why didn't you believe him?

Speaker A:

Because he was from heaven.

Speaker A:

Oh, that's bad.

Speaker A:

But if we say merely human, the people are going to kill us.

Speaker A:

Oh my.

Speaker A:

So here's how they answered.

Speaker A:

I want you to catch this.

Speaker A:

Listen to their answer.

Speaker A:

This happens so often.

Speaker A:

You would absolutely be floored.

Speaker A:

Here was their answer.

Speaker A:

We don't know they lied.

Speaker A:

What do you mean they lied?

Speaker A:

Well, if they say from heaven, they were trapped and Jesus had caught them, right?

Speaker A:

But if they say not from heaven, merely human, then the crowd's going to pounce on them.

Speaker A:

So in order not to get beat up by the crowd, they lied about it.

Speaker A:

We don't know that's not true.

Speaker A:

They think they knew.

Speaker A:

They just didn't want to answer because they didn't want to get hurt.

Speaker A:

So they were lying.

Speaker A:

How does Jesus reply?

Speaker A:

Jesus responds, all right, well, then I won't answer your question either.

Speaker A:

So Jesus gives this classic response, which I do believe more Christians should use than not use.

Speaker A:

In other words, I think we should use it more often.

Speaker A:

He goes, okay, well, I'm not going to answer your question because you didn't answer mine.

Speaker A:

And I know for those A type personalities, it's hard to imagine because you wouldn't want to be losing the fight.

Speaker A:

You got to win the fight.

Speaker A:

But sometimes the best answer is it's in fact true and biblical.

Speaker A:

Sometimes the best answer is no answer.

Speaker A:

It's not all about winning the argument.

Speaker A:

It's about standing for the kingdom of God, standing in the truth, standing in God and knowing when to.

Speaker A:

And and when not to move forward.

Speaker A:

Not everything you encounter should be used with a megaphone so that you can declare the truth in ferociousness.

Speaker A:

I promise you, the impact and the way that Jesus answered them had more of an effect than anything anybody else could have come up with, because that's how Jesus.

Speaker A:

Jesus walked his ministry.

Speaker A:

A lot of Christians would do well to go, you know what, you're not answering me.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to wait and wait till you do.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to wait on it.

Speaker A:

I'm not going to reply.

Speaker A:

And it's so hard to imagine, right?

Speaker A:

But that's really what being led by the Spirit is all about, Right?

Speaker A:

All right, now I just want to make sure you get this.

Speaker A:

What Jesus is trying to do is he's trying.

Speaker A:

He just nails it specifically to where they're coming from.

Speaker A:

Now, the answer to Jesus Question is, John's testimony came from heaven, but they just didn't want to acknowledge.

Speaker A:

So Jesus wasn't giving him any room beyond that.

Speaker A:

Interesting tactic, isn't it?

Speaker A:

I think it's fascinating.

Speaker A:

All right, so your trivia question, kind of an interesting question by itself.

Speaker A:

A witch Judge had 70 sons, according to Judges, chapter 8, verse 30.

Speaker A:

And really, your answer is going to be a little bit based on translation, because it could be Jerubbaal, or it could also be known as Gideon, who had 70 sons.

Speaker A:

So either one of those directions is going to be good.

Speaker A:

But he had 70 sons.

Speaker A:

A lot of kids.

Speaker A:

That's a lot of kids.

Speaker A:

I have two sons and a daughter.

Speaker A:

I don't think I can pull off 70.

Speaker A:

That's all I'm gonna say.

Speaker A:

I just.

Speaker A:

I don't think I couldn't pull off seven, let alone 70.

Speaker A:

All right, we're gonna take our break and then come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break, we'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Speaker A:

Here is a DDD entitled Custom Eyeglasses Used on Others.

Speaker A:

Custom Eyeglasses used on others.

Speaker A:

First Samuel, chapter 18, verse 9.

Speaker A:

So Saul watched David jealously from that day forward.

Speaker A:

Stop.

Speaker A:

There it is.

Speaker A:

So Saul watched David jealously from that day forward.

Speaker A:

How do we see people in our lives?

Speaker A:

Saul saw David through jealous glasses.

Speaker A:

He put on these glasses.

Speaker A:

They weren't the ones from the Lord, right?

Speaker A:

They were glasses that had much more flesh in them.

Speaker A:

And then everything was tainted.

Speaker A:

This is what happens to you and I.

Speaker A:

And let's just do the honest.

Speaker A:

You know, those honest moments where we put on our glasses regarding.

Speaker A:

Regarding some people, because almost every time we get a communication from them, there's just something coming that's just.

Speaker A:

This is going to be lousy.

Speaker A:

I haven't even opened it.

Speaker A:

I'm already dreading it.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Have you ever gone through that?

Speaker A:

Or every time this person texts me, I'm not smiling after I read it.

Speaker A:

Or something along those lines.

Speaker A:

And it could be somebody who's got a spirit of complaining.

Speaker A:

It could be somebody that's got a spirit of pride.

Speaker A:

It could be any of those things.

Speaker A:

And you're just going, oy vey, right?

Speaker A:

But you're not saying it much, but you know how you're seeing it.

Speaker A:

And that's custom glasses.

Speaker A:

You've already put the glasses on.

Speaker A:

You've already determined how it's going to be.

Speaker A:

You're already seeing it through that slant.

Speaker A:

It's not that they've never done anything.

Speaker A:

It's just that you and I tend to stay in those zones and see people that way.

Speaker A:

And so no matter what was going to happen with Saul and King Saul and David, David was going to impute evil motives to Saul's actions.

Speaker A:

I've gone through this with a professor.

Speaker A:

I'm just confessing, right?

Speaker A:

I had a professor before we started the radio show.

Speaker A:

And my buddy in the.

Speaker A:

In the process was a pastor, was my, like, a schoolmate.

Speaker A:

And he would write me and go, what's.

Speaker A:

Why does she, you know, jump on you like that?

Speaker A:

I mean, he was asking me, right?

Speaker A:

And I'm like, every time this statement.

Speaker A:

And instead of having any kind of change of heart or mercy, I was mad.

Speaker A:

But my anger did not work.

Speaker A:

The righteousness of God.

Speaker A:

And sometimes people do that because of other reasons.

Speaker A:

It's not because of you.

Speaker A:

And we need to do a better job of not wearing custom glasses where we see the downside on people.

Speaker A:

So the question to ask is, what kind of glasses do we use with others?

Speaker A:

And are those glasses approved prescription glasses from God?

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
