02-17-2025 part 1: Understanding Authority: A Christian Perspective on Submission
This discourse elucidates the paramount importance of prayer within the Christian faith, emphasizing its capacity to invoke divine intervention in our lives and circumstances. I expound upon the notion that prayer is not merely a ritualistic act, but a profound channel through which we commune with God, beseeching His assistance and grace in our endeavors. Furthermore, we delve into the essentiality of fostering a spirit of kindness and gentleness, as prescribed in the biblical teachings, encouraging our audience to embody these virtues in their interactions with others. The episode also touches upon the concept of submission to authority, highlighting that such submission is contingent upon alignment with divine commandments. Ultimately, I invite listeners to engage with us, sharing their prayer requests and experiences, thereby cultivating a community of faith and support.
An additional thematic strand explored in this episode is the critical examination of authority and obedience within the Christian context. Dr. Spoon articulates the necessity of submitting to governing authorities, provided that such submission does not contravene divine commandments. This nuanced discussion prompts listeners to grapple with the complexities of adhering to authority while remaining steadfast to their faith. The host references Acts 5, where the apostles assert the primacy of obeying God over human mandates, thereby framing the conversation within a biblical context. This tension between divine authority and earthly governance serves as a pivotal point of reflection for me, as it challenges the audience to discern when to yield and when to stand firm in their convictions. The episode further emphasizes that our allegiance to Christ supersedes all earthly allegiances, thereby urging us to cultivate a heart that seeks the kingdom of God above all else. I find this discussion both timely and timeless, as it prompts a reevaluation of our own responses to authority in our contemporary milieu.

Speaker B:Hello, everybody.
Speaker B:When it's cold outside, I've got my mother.
Speaker B:Here's what's coming up on today's experience.
Speaker B:It's Dr.
Speaker B:Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DD DDDD's, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.
Speaker B:Sound effects placed throughout the show, which have nothing to do with life.
Speaker B:But the Bible teaches there's a time to laugh.
Speaker B:The review of the goofy news, which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.
Speaker B:The way things are going right now around the world, I'd say today is a great bet.
Speaker B:Life lessons for our faith that we could actually use.
Speaker B:Probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance.
Speaker B:Yikes.
Speaker B:Humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?
Speaker B:Because God's grace is greater than my foolishness and sin, that's why.
Speaker B:Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker B:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, Local, national and heavenly talk.
Speaker B:My name is Dr.
Speaker B:David Spoon.
Speaker B:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
Speaker B:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
Speaker B:Here is the key to the show.
Speaker B:We don't know what we're doing.
Speaker B:We have no idea what's gonna happen, and we don't care.
Speaker B:But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk faith with you.
Speaker B:So here we go.
Speaker B:Or asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Speaker B:That thingy right there.
Speaker B:In this audience, we have people that know what it is to pray and to get answers to prayers.
Speaker B:Not just to lift up a prayer just in desperation, but to actually see the hand of God move.
Speaker B:And so we're asking you, as people who are listening, what can our prayer warriors, the people in our audience, pray for you about?
Speaker B: Bible says Clearly in Romans: Speaker B:So when other people are praying for you, they're joining you in your venture to help you, to ask God to help the situation.
Speaker B:And our people are diligent and have seen answer after answer after answer and blessing after blessing.
Speaker B:So we're asking you, what can our prayer warriors pray for you about?
Speaker B:What can they join you in?
Speaker B:How can they, myself included, help carry the burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ?
Speaker B:That's the question.
Speaker B:If you have a response or an opinion or a comment or you have your own question, don't let that die of loneliness.
Speaker B:Just reach out and give us a call.
Speaker B: -: Speaker B: -: Speaker B: -: Speaker B:Talking to Jim and Jacob is like heading into the week with great faith and expectation.
Speaker B:Thank you, David.
Speaker B:Happy Monday.
Speaker B:Happy Monday to you, my friend.
Speaker B:Pulling things out with seconds, and I mean seconds to go, as I had to get some things printed and redone and had the wrong paper and did this and did this, and it's just like, only the Lord can pull it together.
Speaker B:I keep thinking.
Speaker B:So good job in helping me get that coordinated.
Speaker B:I appreciate your quickness in that process.
Speaker B:You're welcome.
Speaker B:And yeah, I had everything ready to go.
Speaker B:It's still a few minutes left.
Speaker B:So it's all good.
Speaker B:Yeah, I mean, it's amazing because we get it with two minutes left.
Speaker B:Here we go.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Anyhow, here's the bottom line for everybody to be aware of.
Speaker B:You can call us.
Speaker B:It's okay.
Speaker B:We don't think you're weird.
Speaker B:Well, okay, let me rephrase that.
Speaker B:It's not that we don't think you're weird.
Speaker B:You're just no more weird than we are.
Speaker B:How about that?
Speaker B:That's a great way to say it.
Speaker B:And the bottom line is you're welcome to call.
Speaker B:You're also welcome to text.
Speaker B:Now, you can text us.
Speaker B:Not Texas, text us.
Speaker B: -: Speaker B: -: Speaker B:You can do that because that number is the ministry number for he must increase ministry.
Speaker B:But during the show, it's only for text.
Speaker B: -: Speaker B:So you can call, you can text, and you can also email davidmustincrease.org why?
Speaker B:Well, David, because that's my name.
Speaker B:At.
Speaker B:Because you gotta use that A.
Speaker B:With a circle he must increase, which is the name of the ministry.
Speaker B:Hemousincreaseministry.org, because we're a nonprofit corporation.
Speaker B:So it goes this simple.
Speaker B:You can call us, you can text us, you can email us.
Speaker B:But why would you.
Speaker B:Well, we've already told you we will pray for you.
Speaker B:It's like.
Speaker B:Was that all you guys do?
Speaker B:No.
Speaker B:But, boy, I'll tell you one thing.
Speaker B:If a person knows the power of prayer, prayer changes the universe.
Speaker B:Prayer changes the actual universe.
Speaker B:It changes nations, it changes states, it changes countries.
Speaker B:It changes people's lives.
Speaker B:It changes your life.
Speaker B:It changes the life of people that are connected to you.
Speaker B:Family, friends, co workers, everything.
Speaker B:Because prayer is one of the most powerful forces ever.
Speaker B:It's asking God to step into a situation.
Speaker B:The foolishness of man to think that prayer doesn't make a difference is outstanding.
Speaker B:Without prayer, we probably never would have heard much about lot Abraham interceding on his behalf.
Speaker B:Think about all of the miraculous things that have taken place.
Speaker B:The answers to prayers.
Speaker B:Not just in the Bible, though that would be enough, certainly, but in your own very life.
Speaker B:How many times God has answered prayer?
Speaker B:By golly, if he didn't answer prayer, you wouldn't be saved.
Speaker B:So we believe in the power of prayer and we are willing to pray with you.
Speaker B:If you've got something you want to share, you got a testimony, something that's happened, just a blessing.
Speaker B:Well, let it be known.
Speaker B:Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
Speaker B:If you've got something to share for the kingdom of God, say so and honor the Lord in doing so.
Speaker B:Strengthen it in your own life, but bless other people at the same time.
Speaker B:Maybe just got something to share, something that happened.
Speaker B:I'll tell you, over this last weekend, I have seen from literally from Friday to today, I have seen a wonderful understanding of God's grace being greater than my stupidity.
Speaker B:That, my friends, is a testimony in itself.
Speaker B:In fact, I think that's my life testimony.
Speaker B:God's grace is greater than our own foolishness.
Speaker B:I'm not even talking necessarily about sin.
Speaker B:I'm talking about just our stupid.
Speaker B:God's grace is greater.
Speaker B:Isn't that marvelous?
Speaker B:He loves you that much.
Speaker B:So if you've got something you want to share, bam, do it.
Speaker B:Share it.
Speaker B:Share it with us.
Speaker B:Okay?
Speaker B:We want to be blessed by it.
Speaker B:If you need prayer, let's do it.
Speaker B:Please don't forget February buddies.
Speaker B:Please, please, please, please, please.
Speaker B:We're getting a little bit through February.
Speaker B:We want you to learn how to listen for people's voices or people that are talking or people that are mentioned and by golly, take them on as a prayer and bless them.
Speaker B:They don't have to know.
Speaker B:In fact, I don't want them to know.
Speaker B:I want you just to carry their burden, bring it before the Lord.
Speaker B:Maybe the Lord will tell you, teach you, help you grow in intercession.
Speaker B:Isn't that cool?
Speaker B:Of course it's cool.
Speaker B:I mean, you know, no real revival gets rolling without, you know, prayer being the foundation.
Speaker B:I'M just kind of gonna believe, you know, that today.
Speaker B:I think today's President's Day.
Speaker B:I can't tell.
Speaker B:But I think there's no mail or no banks.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker B:Cause I don't do a lot of mailing and I don't do a lot of banking.
Speaker B:So I'm just gonna think maybe.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:That's not good.
Speaker B:I do wanna make people aware that we have a modified schedule this week.
Speaker B:Uh oh, ding, ding, ding, ding.
Speaker B:On Wednesday, your very need of therapy host me will be taking some time off with his very needing some rest wife and spending the day together so that we can help each other, strengthen each other and bless each other.
Speaker B:So Wednesday will be a powerful, powerful, powerful replay.
Speaker B:But Wednesday we will be not here.
Speaker B:I think that's also the day it's really cold, if I remember correctly.
Speaker B:Anyhow, let us get into the text before we go anywhere else or do anything else.
Speaker B:We are in Titus and we are in Titus, chapter three.
Speaker B:And we are at verse one.
Speaker B:And here's what Paul is telling Titus.
Speaker B:He says this because he's talking about people.
Speaker B:He's talked about social structures.
Speaker B:He's talked about people, how they should respond.
Speaker B:He's telling them to just proclaim these things.
Speaker B:Encourage and rebuke with all authority.
Speaker B:Let no one disregard you.
Speaker B:Chapter three, verse one.
Speaker B:He says this.
Speaker B:Remind them to submit to the rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, and to slander no one, and to avoid fighting and to be kind, always showing gentleness to all people.
Speaker B:Let's talk about this.
Speaker B:Remind them to submit to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work.
Speaker B:I don't know where we've talked about being ready before to avoid to slander no one and to avoid fighting.
Speaker B:Let's talk about that for a little second since we're in this wonderful season.
Speaker B:We're in as we pick it up in chapter three, starting with verse one, where Paul encourages Titus to teach submission to rulers and authorities and to obey and to be ready for every good work.
Speaker B:There are a couple of points we need to review, so let's understand the submission to authority and its proper use.
Speaker B:It is proper to submit to authorities unless it breaches any commandment of God, in which case it is not proper to submit to authority.
Speaker B:For anybody looking for that evidence, please read Acts, chapter five.
Speaker B:And please do it more than once so you can see it.
Speaker B:Peter and the apostles together say it is better to obey God than man.
Speaker B:And that was in direct reference to the religious Leaders, the authorities, telling them not to preach in the name of Jesus.
Speaker B:And they said, no, we're not going to listen to you.
Speaker B:When the government does its thing and functions in its way, it can be very good.
Speaker B:And there are times where you and I need to go, okie dokie.
Speaker B:That's the authority God put in there.
Speaker B:Let's just get with it.
Speaker B:But there are other times where if government steps in and asks you to breach the commandments of God, your allegiance is first to God Almighty.
Speaker B:If the government requires you to love the government more than God, you are to disobey.
Speaker B:There's not even a question.
Speaker B:Jesus specifically taught, you cannot love anybody or anything more than you love me, period.
Speaker B:No exceptions, period.
Speaker B:So when people start talking about those goofy things and they start telling people, well, no, you have to do what they say, if it's contrary to scripture, the answer is no.
Speaker B:It is better to obey God than man.
Speaker B:If the authority in life instructs you to do something contrary to God, it is more righteous to obey God.
Speaker B:If parents tell their kids to do something that is sinful and contrary to God, the parents are not only in sin, but the child is not obligated to follow that ruling because it's contrary to God.
Speaker B:Period.
Speaker B:There is no authority, no structure, no being, no situation where it is not God first.
Speaker B:It is always God first.
Speaker B:Seek first the kingdom of God.
Speaker B:And the kingdom of God is where God is king.
Speaker B:That's something to remember, the kingdom of God.
Speaker B:Get that?
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Just making sure you know that.
Speaker B:So wanting everybody to understand.
Speaker B:Today's a live show, right?
Speaker B:And we're talking about these things.
Speaker B:But while we're talking about these things, you'll notice that every one of these shows somehow always has some application to something we're going through.
Speaker B:You think that's by chance?
Speaker B:Or do you think that's the.
Speaker B:The Lord doing what he's doing, I say we let him do what he's doing.
Speaker B:That's the way to go about it.
Speaker B:Again, if authority from any structure or point of view asks you to do something, requires you to do something, and it's not a breach to the command, will you render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and you render unto God the things that are God's.
Speaker B:And you know what God wants from you and me?
Speaker B:You and me?
Speaker B:You know what he wants?
Speaker B:Our hearts, our devotion, our loyalty, our commitment, our love, our friendship, our fellowship.
Speaker B:That's what he wants.
Speaker B:So he says, remind them to submit to the rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work.
Speaker B:Isn't that nice?
Speaker B:Paul kind of helping me out with my DNA, you know, he's helping me out doing the same thing Jacob does.
Speaker B:He's given the other part.
Speaker B:I mean, it's so specific.
Speaker B:Be ready for every good work.
Speaker B:We got to be ready.
Speaker B:We got to be ready.
Speaker B:We got to be ready because the Lord wants us to be available even if we don't do anything.
Speaker B:And you think, why is that?
Speaker B:So that we can be mindful of the kingdom, thoughtful of God.
Speaker B:The scripture says in Colossians 3:1, 6, set your mind on things, seek the things above.
Speaker B:And verse two, set your mind on things above.
Speaker B:That is how you seek.
Speaker B:You set your mind to it.
Speaker B:How do I seek the kingdom, Dave?
Speaker B:Set your mind to the kingship of God.
Speaker B:That's how you do it.
Speaker B:And his righteousness.
Speaker B:His righteousness, of course, is Christ, but it's also walking in the righteousness that he shows us.
Speaker B:And then we're encouraged.
Speaker B:This.
Speaker B:And this is, I think, hilarious.
Speaker B:Well, not hilarious, but verse two, to slander no one, to avoid fighting, to be kind, always showing gentleness to all people.
Speaker B:So we're encouraged not to slander anyone, to avoid fighting and to be kind.
Speaker B:Also to show gentleness to people.
Speaker B:There are a few additional points that are worth noting here, and you've got to keep it in context, but it's not a brilliant idea to speak about people you dislike in such negative terminologies when oftentimes we don't even know these people.
Speaker B:We're just responding to what we've heard from others and what others have said, and many of that much of that could be lies.
Speaker B:So we're supposed to pull that back a little.
Speaker B:Don't get caught up in the ether of the politics.
Speaker B:Be caught up in the ether of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker B:And since people say things about people and oftentimes, man, oh, man, what a lie.
Speaker B:I mean, it's just baloney, right on our end.
Speaker B:The scripture commands us to show kindness, to be gentle.
Speaker B:Wait, wait, wait.
Speaker B:To avoid provoking fights.
Speaker B:I think of my family growing up.
Speaker B:I think of Laurie and Billy and myself at the dinner table with my mom and dad.
Speaker B:And if anybody would have said, you guys should avoid provoking fights, we would have thrown food at them.
Speaker B:We were a fighting family.
Speaker B:Your Thanksgiving dinners as Gentiles is the same as our every night dinner.
Speaker B:When things fall apart.
Speaker B:That's how we used to do it.
Speaker B:But the scripture says, don't do that.
Speaker B:I have to be careful not to do that with my kids now.
Speaker B:My kids will come over and they'll have dinner and so on and so forth.
Speaker B:It's really easy because I grew up with it.
Speaker B:I got to pull back a little.
Speaker B:But in other words, the scripture is saying this to all of us.
Speaker B:Hey, you guys.
Speaker B:Hey.
Speaker B:Here's a really good piece of advice.
Speaker B:Walking as Christians who follow and love Jesus.
Speaker B:Here it is.
Speaker B:Ready?
Speaker B:Don't be a jerk.
Speaker B:That's what it's saying.
Speaker B:Don't be that kind of person.
Speaker B:You could be like, Uncle Herbie who threw olives at us.
Speaker B:That's funny.
Speaker B:But don't be a jerk.
Speaker B:Don't be an instigator.
Speaker B:No, but that's not necessary.
Speaker B:Don't be like, okay, if the truth is declared inappropriately, that's different.
Speaker B:But don't be an instigator in it all.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Take a deep breath, Dave, It's Monday.
Speaker B:What are you doing?
Speaker B:What we always do.
Speaker B:It's Monday.
Speaker B:Here we go.
Speaker B:Here's your first trivia question.
Speaker B:Who baptized the Ethiopian eunuch?
Speaker B:Was it John the Baptist, Philip, Peter or Jesus?
Speaker B:Your reference point is Acts, chapter 8, verse 27.
Speaker B:Acts, chapter 8, verse 34 through 38.
Speaker B:Who baptized the Ethiopian eunuch?
Speaker B:Who did that?
Speaker B:Was it John the Baptist, Philip, Peter or Jesus?
Speaker B:If you think you know the answer.
Speaker B:Oh, by the way, the reference point, Acts, chapter 8, Phil 34 through 38, is probably your better tag on that.
Speaker B:If you think you know, reach out to us.
Speaker B:Our number's not complex.
Speaker B:I don't think it is.
Speaker B: -: Speaker B: -: Speaker B: to: Speaker B: -: Speaker B:Or you can send an email, davidemustincrease.org okay.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Your trivia question.
Speaker B:What is it?
Speaker B:What?
Speaker B:Who baptized the Ethiopian eunuch?
Speaker B:Was it John the Baptist, Philip, Peter, or Jesus?
Speaker B:Acts, chapter 8, verse 34 through Route 38.
Speaker B:I always found some of this text amusing.
Speaker B:When we went to Bible college.
Speaker B:When you're in the master's class and people are like, that eunuch guy was sexually confused.
Speaker B:No, he wasn't.
Speaker B:That's so stupid.
Speaker B:That's just dumb.
Speaker B:When people say something that's not true, then you do get to respond, but don't instigate it.
Speaker B:Okay?
Speaker B:That's all we're saying.
Speaker B:All right, You've been asked the question.
Speaker B:Before we do anything else, I'm going to send you to the website because it's an important part of what we do.
Speaker B:This ministry exists by donations alone.
Speaker B:If I could make a million dollars and just pop it in the ministry, I probably wouldn't even ask it.
Speaker B:But that's not how God set it up.
Speaker B:We need your help to keep the ministry going, and I am telling you, we need your help to keep the ministry going.
Speaker B:That's all there is to say about that.
Speaker B:I want you to check it out on the website.
Speaker B:Our scripture for today is 2 Corinthians 9, 6, 7.
Speaker B:Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly.
Speaker B:Whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully.
Speaker B:Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion.
Speaker B:For God loves a cheerful giver.
Speaker B:Check it out on the website.
Speaker B:Hemustincrease.org Prayer Request hemostincrease.org Praise Report emailsincreased.org Looking to give to this ministry.
Speaker B:Hemustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.
Speaker B:Hemustincrease.org he mustincrease.org From the Valley of the Jolly.
Speaker B:Ho, ho ho, Green Giant.
Speaker B:I feel like I need to eat vegetables.
Speaker B:I just feel like I should eat more vegetables just by hearing that commercial.
Speaker B:All right, somebody is ready to answer a trivia question.
Speaker B:Let's send them on through.
Speaker B:Knock, knock.
Speaker B:This is David.
Speaker B:Who am I talking to?
Speaker C:This is Gary.
Speaker B:Hi, Gary, how are you?
Speaker C:Well, I'm about the same, but I just keep praying.
Speaker B:And we keep praying with you because we believe prayer works and persistent prayer is what Jesus likes that comes from us.
Speaker B:So we're going to keep doing that.
Speaker B:Let's do the trivia question first, and then we'll get into praying for you.
Speaker B:Of these four, who baptized the Ethiopian eunuch?
Speaker B:Was it John the Baptist, Philip, Peter, or Jesus?
Speaker C:I believe it was Philip.
Speaker B:You are correct, Amanda, sir.
Speaker B:It was Philip.
Speaker B:And it's just an amazing.
Speaker B:It's just a really a great story.
Speaker B:And one of the things that I've brought up before is you don't hear the part where Philip talks about baptism, but obviously he did, because otherwise why would the eunuch say, I got to be baptized?
Speaker B:So, I mean, obviously it's something in the discussion that they had, and it's just fascinating.
Speaker B:And then the eunuch never saw Philip again.
Speaker B:Just that that one encounter was all that the Lord wanted to change that guy's life and to use Philip to be a useful vessel for the kingdom.
Speaker B:And then never again did they see each other until now.
Speaker B:I'm sure they're in heaven, but I'm just saying, isn't that cool?
Speaker B:I just love how the Lord coordinates things like that.
Speaker B:Let me pray over you, my brother.
Speaker B:Okay?
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker C:You might pray about things in general.
Speaker C:I've got a problem or two trying to get straightened out along with my hail.
Speaker B:Okay, you got it, man.
Speaker B:You got it.
Speaker B:Let's do it.
Speaker B:Father, we come before you right now.
Speaker B:We thank you for our brother Gary, and we ask that you would bless him, Lord.
Speaker B:He's got a couple of situations that need to get ironed out, Lord.
Speaker B:They're not falling in line.
Speaker B:The dominoes are not lining up.
Speaker B:The ducks are not lining up.
Speaker B:It ain't going the way it's supposed to go.
Speaker B:Which only means this is the opportunity for us to see the hand of God at work in those situations.
Speaker B:And we ask you to manifest your hand.
Speaker B:We ask you to step into those situations on Gary's behalf and get him through it so that it's not so difficult.
Speaker B:That's why we've prayed, Lord, before, for simplicity, for him, for it to be easy.
Speaker B:And that's exactly what we're praying right now, to smooth out the crooked road that is before him.
Speaker B:And that is something you do.
Speaker B:So we ask you to smooth out that road and simplify the situation.
Speaker B:And we are asking you again.
Speaker B:And we're going to keep asking you and we're going to keep believing and we're going to keep trusting you to bring your healing power into his body.
Speaker B:A lot of his issues and struggles could really be reduced just by being touched by the power of your holy Spirit.
Speaker B:We're asking this in the name of Jesus.
Speaker B:We don't have the power, Lord.
Speaker B:You do.
Speaker B:And we ask you to bring that power into his life, change his life.
Speaker B:You can do anything, do this.
Speaker B:Bring your healing power into him and let him be touched.
Speaker B:And let the miraculous power of the most high God be manifest in Gary's life.
Speaker B:And then he'll be able to testify to one and all and do all of this in the only name worthy to come to you in.
Speaker B:We come to you and pray and petition you about this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:And amen.
Speaker C:Amen.
Speaker C:Thank you very much.
Speaker C:I prayed for all of you yesterday and I'll continue to pray for you.
Speaker B:Thank you, brother, and God bless you.
Speaker C:And God bless you.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:Don't forget to be praying for Gary.
Speaker B:Another good Feb buddy.
Speaker B:For some of you guys been praying for him.
Speaker B:That'd be very cool, right?
Speaker B:I think it'd be very cool.
Speaker B:All right, so let's go back to our text as we've been talking.
Speaker B:Trying to keep it simple, not trying to overload anybody yet.
Speaker B:That'll be later on, especially because what we're going to talk about in the second 60 minutes.
Speaker B:All right, so let's go back to the text.
Speaker B:It says this.
Speaker B:I'll kind of run it from chapter three, verse one through the next verse.
Speaker B:Remind them to submit to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to slander no one, to avoid fighting and to be kind, always showing gentleness to all people.
Speaker B:For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.
Speaker B:I'm not sure of which side between the Republicans and the Democrats that doesn't fit into.
Speaker B:Because if you hear all those descriptions, you got to think, wow, it sounds like everybody.
Speaker B:But here Paul is reminding Titus why we should behave a certain way.
Speaker B:And the answer is because we were like that once, too.
Speaker B:That's why.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:All right, we'll take our break here and want to appreciate.
Speaker B:Let everybody know how much we appreciate everything they're doing for us and praying for us.
Speaker B:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the trip station here in Texas.
Speaker B:Short break.
Speaker B:Don't go anywhere.
