02-11-2025 part 2: Understanding Divine Love Through Trials and Calamities
The profound exploration of God's unwavering love is the cornerstone of this discussion. It is posited that our circumstances, whether adverse or favorable, do not serve to diminish the divine affection that God holds for us. The Apostle Paul, in his epistle to the Romans, raises a pivotal question: "Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?" The emphatic response is a resounding no, underscoring the constancy of God's love despite the tribulations we may encounter. This episode delves into the historical context of this message, drawing parallels between the struggles faced by early Christians and those of modern believers, thereby reaffirming the timeless truth that God's love remains unaltered by our life experiences. Thus, we are reminded of the enduring nature of divine love, which transcends all earthly trials and tribulations.
In this episode of the David Spoon Experience, the focal point revolves around a pivotal theological inquiry posed by the Apostle Paul in Romans 8:35: 'Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?' Dr. David Spoon meticulously unpacks this question, emphasizing the unequivocal answer that Paul provides—nothing can sever the bond of divine love, no matter the trials or tribulations one may encounter. He articulates that the challenges faced in life, whether they manifest as persecution, hunger, or existential threats, do not diminish God's affection for humanity. Instead, these adversities serve as a backdrop against which the constancy of God's love shines even brighter.
Dr. Spoon further asserts that the essence of God's love is not contingent upon human circumstances. He reflects on the historical context of the early church, suggesting that just as believers then wrestled with the reality of suffering, so too do contemporary Christians face similar struggles. This discourse encourages listeners to confront their doubts regarding God's love during difficult times and to recognize that their worth is not defined by their immediate situations. He passionately urges his audience to remember that God's love is steadfast, transcending the temporal nature of life's difficulties.
Through personal anecdotes and scriptural references, Dr. Spoon offers a rich tapestry of insight, culminating in a message of hope and reassurance. He implores believers to draw closer to God, to never shy away from their faith, and to rest assured that no circumstance can alter the divine love that envelops them. This episode serves as a clarion call to embrace the transformative power of God's love, enabling believers to navigate the storms of life with unwavering faith.

And now for something completely different.
Speaker A:Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.
Speaker A:It's totally terrific, totally transforming and totally triumphant Tuesday as we find unity from the Father, through the Son and by the Spirit, all for the glory of God Almighty.
Speaker A:Well, here we are.
Speaker A:Romans, chapter 8.
Speaker A:Picking it up at verse 35 at what many would call the creme de la creme.
Speaker A:This means it is one of the most favored passages in the New Testament, beloved and deeply needed by all of us.
Speaker A:With that in mind, I might take a little extra time going through this beautiful doxology like communication about the love that comes from God through Jesus Christ for you and me.
Speaker A: written to the church in Rome: Speaker A:Verse 35 starts off by saying, can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:The structure of the question makes it quite clear that the answer is no.
Speaker A:But the apostle doesn't stop there.
Speaker A:While he's addressing the question of whether anything can separate us, he also answers the question of whether anyone, not just anything, but anyone, can separate us.
Speaker A:So it's two points that he deals with.
Speaker A:Finally, in the apostles list, he lists trouble, calamity, persecution, hunger, cold, danger and and threats of death.
Speaker A:This list effectively covers one end of the spectrum to the other.
Speaker A:From general struggles in life, to being persecuted as Christians, to being hungry, meaning there's not enough food or money for food, to being cold, meaning that there's times we're less comfortable, to being in danger of death itself and even to being threatened with death.
Speaker A:And when all those things come about in our lives at different times and in different ways, they still have no bearing on the love that God has for us.
Speaker A:David Spoon's life has been an experience.
Speaker A:While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.
Speaker A:Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.
Speaker A:The more he studied the Gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

Speaker B:Happy Tuesday.
Speaker A:Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.
Speaker A:I gotta tell you right now, I don't know where that last 30 minutes came from and where it went to, but it's gone.
Speaker A:And that's the end of that.
Speaker A:That just tells me I have no idea what's gonna happen this next 60 minutes either.
Speaker A:That's pretty funny, isn't it?
Speaker A:We're just like, yeah, we have no idea.
Speaker A:Let's see what happens.
Speaker B:The first 30 minutes flew by.
Speaker B:I looked up and it was at 56.
Speaker B:I was like, wow.
Speaker B:No, it's just quickest 30 minutes ever.
Speaker A:So fast.
Speaker A:It's so weird.
Speaker A:Anyway, all right, so let's get into this.
Speaker A:Why would you email?
Speaker A:Why would you text?
Speaker A:Why would you call?
Speaker A:We tell you it all the time.
Speaker A:It can be to share a praise report, because praise reports are awesome.
Speaker A:They bless people.
Speaker A:It can be a prayer request.
Speaker A:And let me explain something to you.
Speaker A:Prayer requests are awesome because it unites us, it puts us together in the struggle, it fulfills the law of Christ, carry one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Speaker A:Even when you're sharing just something simple, easy, whatever that the Lord's blessed you in, inevitably somebody who needed to hear it hears it.
Speaker A:That's what's so awesome, right?
Speaker A:We also do Bible trivia because we think keeping our eyes on the prize, keeping our mind focused in the word of God, the laws of the Lord is perfect.
Speaker A:Able to restore the Soul is a good idea for all of us.
Speaker A:So we'll open up with something a little easier than most of the time.
Speaker A:What was the occupation of the apostles Peter, Andrew, John and James?
Speaker A: : Speaker A:If you think you know, you are welcome to call us.
Speaker A:Remember, really?
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:I expect that from a few people that regularly reach out to us.
Speaker A:What was the occupation of the apostles Peter, Andrew, John and and James?
Speaker A:There's your question.
Speaker A:If you think you know, reach out to us.
Speaker A:In the meantime, let's jump into our DNA.
Speaker A:DNA is our building blocks.
Speaker A:Why we exist by and the first and foremost D is draw D Draw D Draw closer to the Lord daily, every day.
Speaker A:Spend some time with the Lord.
Speaker A:I like it that you listen to the show.
Speaker A:I think it's cool.
Speaker A:You need time with God without anything else, without anybody else.
Speaker A:Technically, you need to spend time with your creator.
Speaker A:That's why you were created.
Speaker A:And in doing that, you connect to your very purpose of existence.
Speaker A:So many people are trying to find the answer.
Speaker A:What should I do here?
Speaker A:What should I do here?
Speaker A:What should I do here?
Speaker A:If we understood it well, we would understand that if we were in a deep and sincere abiding communion with the Lord, it wouldn't matter if we were an apostle or a tent maker.
Speaker A:We would just be connected to our Creator.
Speaker A:That's the key.
Speaker A:Aha.
Speaker A:It doesn't mean the Lord doesn't want you to do something specific.
Speaker A:What I'm trying to tell you though, is there's a just a fabulous connection in life if we can pick up on it.
Speaker A:Draw closer to the Lord daily D N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
Speaker A:Never, never be ashamed.
Speaker A:There's a portion in, of course, First John 2 or 3.
Speaker A:Now, I can't remember from this morning's devotion, but it talks about not being shamed, just not being ashamed.
Speaker A:The world, their goal is to make everybody reduced and everybody to this lower level of basements of abasement.
Speaker A:Of the flesh living process with no righteousness, no godliness, no standard, no requirements.
Speaker A:That is why they are going to hell.
Speaker A:We don't want them to go to hell.
Speaker A:But I'm not about to sit there and jump in the bus with them.
Speaker A:Never be ashamed of what Jesus had to say.
Speaker A:He brings to us, has brought to us, and will bring to us the words of eternal life.
Speaker A:There is nothing to be ashamed of in that right.
Speaker A:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
Speaker A:A Always be ready.
Speaker B:To serve.
Speaker A:So the question is, what can you and I do to help us to be ready to serve?
Speaker A:That's the question.
Speaker A:What can we do to help us to be ready to serve?
Speaker A:What could you do that would help you be ready to serve?
Speaker A:And I will say this just in the most obvious way.
Speaker A:Not get so bogged down in everything that surrounds us that would help us to be ready to serve.
Speaker A:Not being so caught up in all the things around us that would help us to be ready to serve.
Speaker A:That's going back to that thing.
Speaker A:I prayed earlier for the audience and I say it specifically, and I mean no disrespect by it.
Speaker A:I just think it's absolutely correct.
Speaker A:We sometimes need to learn to just take a deep breath, not let all the circumstances overwhelm.
Speaker A:Have faith, walk in this partnership with God and be aware that you are his billboard to the world.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or His words.
Speaker A:A Always be ready to serve and our trivia question what was the occupation of the apostles Peter, Andrew, John and James?
Speaker A:What Was their occupation?
Speaker A: Mark: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Davidemustincrease.org is the email and we go to what many people consider one of the great passages of the New Testament along the lines of John 3:16 and here's the passage Romans 8:35 can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:That question is the same question that the devil throws at us, not in an affirmation way, but in a doubt filled way.
Speaker A:Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:And what happens for many believers is they will fall, trip, stumble, or just not pay attention, whatever the case may be.
Speaker A:And the enemy will come in with a How can you say you love God?
Speaker A:How can you say you love God when you do this?
Speaker A:When you say this, when you Think this.
Speaker A:How can you say you are a person who loves God when that's what the devil does to Jesus?
Speaker A:If you're the son of God, to me and to you, if you're really loved by God, would you do this?
Speaker A:Would you think this?
Speaker A:Would you say this?
Speaker A:That is a tactic that the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy.
Speaker A:And Paul is addressing this at the top.
Speaker A:And there's no, you know, there's no movement here.
Speaker A:Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:The answer to the question, as it's a rhetorical question, is no.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:But, Dave, I did this.
Speaker A:I said this.
Speaker A:I thought this.
Speaker A:That does not change that text.
Speaker A:But I feel like I don't care how you feel.
Speaker A:That does not change that text.
Speaker A:In fact, Noel and I discussed this just the other day about something we were talking about.
Speaker A:And I was like, well, sometimes it's like, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker A:And she goes, yeah, it's a good thing that that's got nothing to do with the love of God.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:She's got a sharp wit when she wants to use it.
Speaker A:So here's how it goes.
Speaker A:Nothing can separate you from the love of God.
Speaker A:That love that you said yes to in the very beginning, that hasn't changed.
Speaker A:Oh, he loves me less now because he knows me.
Speaker A:No, he never loved you less.
Speaker A:And he actually doesn't love you more.
Speaker A:Technically, he's always loved you perfectly.
Speaker A:Has never changed.
Speaker A:So here's the answer.
Speaker A:No matter what happens, no matter what you go through, no matter what you encounter, can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:Can anything?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:That's God's response.
Speaker A:Every other response is irrelevant.
Speaker A:Only God's opinion or statement or declaration counts.
Speaker A:Everything else is just humorous.
Speaker A:Can anything separate you from his?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:He will not undo what he's done for his you.
Speaker A:That's how much he loves you.
Speaker A:Even though we do that with one another.
Speaker A:Oh, all that trust I had and that's undone.
Speaker A:Da da da d.
Speaker A:I understand God.
Speaker A:He doesn't.
Speaker A:He functions in another plane, a reality, a truthfulness.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Can anything separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:Nothing can separate you from the love that God has for you.
Speaker A:Nothing can separate you from the love that Jesus has for you.
Speaker A:Nothing.
Speaker A:That's the answer.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:What was the occupation of the apostles Peter, Andrew, John, and James?
Speaker A:And while yes, they of course, were apostles, their actual profession or occupation was 50.
Speaker A:And in fact, the four of them were partners.
Speaker A:Two brothers.
Speaker A:Two brothers.
Speaker A:Partnership.
Speaker A:That's always Fascinating.
Speaker A:I find that's what Jesus set the 12 upon, the core of those four.
Speaker A:All right folks, we are going to take our break and then come back.

Speaker A:What is the David Spoon experience?
Speaker A:Do you think it's been organizational leadership has been a good thing for church leaders?
Speaker D:Well, I'll tell you what, it's a penetrating question.
Speaker D:The answer is very simple.
Speaker D:If used correctly to add value to people and serve others, it's good thing.
Speaker D:If used incorrectly it's not a good thing.
Speaker D:And you know when people talk about everything rises and falls on leadership, I teach them often that it rises but it also falls.
Speaker D:And nothing is better than for people to have a good leader and nothing's worse than for people to have a bad leader.
Speaker D:And the to me what what makes servant leadership work is this.
Speaker D:Most leaders put themselves first be before their people and so it is a me motivation as far as leading.
Speaker D:What's in it for me?
Speaker D:I travel internationally with my company quip and in fact I'll leave Sunday for Guatemala.
Speaker D:In fact I'll be meeting next week with the President and the cabinet of Guatemala.
Speaker D:When I'm with these leaders alone, David, alone, I mean, no handlers, no media, nothing, but just alone.
Speaker D:The question I ask them, which is I think the true servant leadership question, is will the people be better off after you've served your term as a leader than they were before you got there?
Speaker A:Wow.
Speaker D:And I think that's.
Speaker D:And when the answer is yes, you have been a good leader, it has been a good thing.
Speaker D:Organizational leadership, good thing.
Speaker D:When the answer is no, Bad leader, bad thing.
Speaker A:How sweet the sound.
Speaker A:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:That's K double amen.

Speaker A:How long did the waters prevail upon the Earth when it flooded during Noah's time?
Speaker A:40 days?
Speaker A:150 days?
Speaker A:2 years?
Speaker A:7 years.
Speaker A:Your answer is in Genesis 7, 23 and 24.
Speaker A:Again.
Speaker A:Again, listen to the question.
Speaker A:How long did the waters prevail upon the Earth when it was flooded during Noah's time?
Speaker A:40 days.
Speaker A:150 days.
Speaker A:Two years.
Speaker A:Seven years.
Speaker A:Genesis 7, 23, 24.
Speaker A:Excellent job, Eric, getting the pow pow on that one.
Speaker A:Okay, so I want to make sure that everybody knows that's your trivia question.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You can send an email davidhemousincrease.org now, it is true, we have not done history or jokes for a while.
Speaker A:And so I have to do just this really fast one on jokes.
Speaker A:And you will just have to put up with it and then we'll do history in the next section.
Speaker A:But are you ready for these jokes?
Speaker A:These are.
Speaker A:I just want to say this right now.
Speaker A:I'm telling you right now, telling Jam and Jacob right now.
Speaker A:These are some good ones.
Speaker A:These are some good ones, buddy.
Speaker A:I mean, this is.
Speaker A:We haven't told for a while.
Speaker A:This is a good one.
Speaker A:These are good.
Speaker B:Okay, I'll hold you to it.
Speaker B:Let's hear some good ones.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:What do you call a rabbit with fleas?
Speaker A:A rabbit with fleas.
Speaker A:Bugs Bunny.
Speaker A:Bugs Bunny.
Speaker A:Bugs Bunny.
Speaker A:Oh, no, these are all just like this.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Ready?
Speaker A:What do you get when you cross a goat with a squid?
Speaker A:A goat with a squid.
Speaker A:Billy the Squid.
Speaker A:Come on.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Did you hear the joke?
Speaker A:Did you hear the joke about the peach?
Speaker A:It was pitiful.
Speaker A:There you go.
Speaker A:Pitiful.
Speaker A:There you go.
Speaker A:Pitiful.
Speaker A:See?
Speaker A:And your last joke.
Speaker A:Get ready, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker A:Where does Spider man go for his medical advice?
Speaker A:Where does Spider man go for his medical advice?
Speaker A:WebMD.
Speaker A:There you go.
Speaker A:WebMD.
Speaker A:How are those?
Speaker A:Those were good ones, huh?
Speaker B:Those are pretty good.
Speaker B:The first one and the last one are my Two favorites.
Speaker A:The WebMD.
Speaker A:That's just great.
Speaker B:So you started strong and ended strong.
Speaker A:There you go.
Speaker A:That's the way to do it.
Speaker A:All right, here we go.
Speaker A:Your trivia question.
Speaker A:Your trivia question.
Speaker A:How long did the waters prevail upon the earth when it was flooded during Noah's time?
Speaker A:40 days?
Speaker A:150 days?
Speaker A:2 years?
Speaker A:7 years?
Speaker A:Genesis 7?
Speaker A:23, 24.
Speaker A:Now listen to this.
Speaker A:Ooh, this is what I've been waiting for.
Speaker A:Okay, I'm gonna share something with you because I want you to hear it, right?
Speaker A:So you already heard me spend a lot of time on this verse 35, right?
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:Here's what the NLT writes in their translation of the rest of verse 35.
Speaker A:It's one of the reasons I'm teaching out of this.
Speaker A:So listen to what it says.
Speaker A:Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Speaker A:Here's the rest of the verse.
Speaker A:Does it mean he no longer loves us?
Speaker A:If we have trouble or calamity or are persecuted or are hungry or cold or in danger, threatened with death?
Speaker A:Listen to how they're phrasing it.
Speaker A:It's excellent for us to understand, especially in their commission when they did this translation.
Speaker A:This is not a paraphrase.
Speaker A:This is super, super accurate to the American.
Speaker A:It's simply asking this question, and it says it right.
Speaker A:Does it mean he no longer loves us?
Speaker A:If that's it, does it mean he no longer loves us?
Speaker A:If.
Speaker A:If there's trouble or calamity or persecution or hunger or cold or danger, or we're threatened with death.
Speaker A:Death.
Speaker A:This is a huge, huge deal.
Speaker A:When Christians face trouble and calamity, they can often question the love that God has for them.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:And don't tell me you don't ever do it.
Speaker A:Don't you do that.
Speaker A:Don't tell me you've never turned to God without saying it too loudly and go, what did I do?
Speaker A:Why is this happening?
Speaker A:All of those kind of statements, including What Job replied, all say the same thing they do.
Speaker A:They challenge that God has this current love for us because we're feeling the pain.
Speaker A:And this is one of the big deals for Christians.
Speaker A:And Christians, when you first got saved, you didn't really have that much of a difficulty in thinking, he just loves me.
Speaker A:He just loves me.
Speaker A:I'm so happy he loves me.
Speaker A:And then you go through the trials and you're sitting there thinking, well, what happened to the love?
Speaker A:Nothing happened to the love.
Speaker A:In fact, it'd be more right to say, what happened to that faith you started with.
Speaker A:And so here's the deal.
Speaker A:The deal is, when we often face calamities or troubles, there comes this moment where we're like, what's going on?
Speaker A:And then that questioning that love, that buying into Satan's lies and opening the door for further accusations, for further struggle, for further warfare.
Speaker A:And yes, whether you say so or not, I've done this a long time.
Speaker A:I know many of you have done it longer than I have.
Speaker A:Look, believers often still agree with the enemy from time to time.
Speaker A:After all, when Satan was talking to Eve, it wasn't that she was a disbeliever.
Speaker A:He's just introducing doubt.
Speaker A:She didn't disbelieve in God.
Speaker A:She just wasn't really sure what he said.
Speaker A:Because Satan said, yea, hath God said.
Speaker A:You see that difference?
Speaker A:When we understand the power and the foundation of love that God has for us, that it is the core to which Jesus sacrificed himself.
Speaker A:When we understand that Jesus took on the form of a human, you think of yourself as powerful or strong, an individual.
Speaker A:It's a greater difference when Jesus became a man.
Speaker A:It's a greater difference than if you became an ant.
Speaker A:Jesus becoming a man, and he did that out of sheer love, unpolluted, untaintable love.
Speaker A:And what the enemy does is challenges the motivation and the purposes of God in order to create some kind of doubt ribbon that he could slap on our wrists.
Speaker A:This is why Abraham was so outstanding.
Speaker A:He wasn't buying into too many doubt ribbons.
Speaker A:He wasn't perfect.
Speaker A:He wasn't perfect, but he had a great, great deal of faith in the goodness of God.
Speaker A:And that's what we need to have, is a great, great deal of faith in the goodness of God and understanding that that love that he has for us.
Speaker A:That is not a fluid situation.
Speaker A:You ever heard that expression, oh, it's a fluid situation.
Speaker A:We don't know everything that's going on.
Speaker A:Got it.
Speaker A:God's love is not fluid like that.
Speaker A:It doesn't Drip out of a cup.
Speaker A:It's who he's made of.
Speaker A:It's not just that God has love.
Speaker A:The Bible says God is love.
Speaker A:It's his DNA.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So when we sit there and we do that, what happens is we don't like what we're going through or we don't understand why we're going through it.
Speaker A:And we don't.
Speaker A:I mean, I don't know why.
Speaker A:We just can't say, yeah, I don't know what he's doing, but whatever he's doing, he's got a great plan.
Speaker A:Instead we go, I don't know what he's doing, and I wish he'd stop it.
Speaker A:That's questioning his love.
Speaker A:I know you're thinking, no, no, that can't be questioned.
Speaker A:Of course it is.
Speaker A:If you really believe that he loved you, you would know that each and everything, each and every delay, each and every trial, each and every situation is categorized in this process where he loves us and is allowing things to take place in our lives for our benefit.
Speaker A:God never allows anything that doesn't have a benefit for you and I.
Speaker A:Even if it's discipline, which also, by the way, is a part of love.
Speaker A:Yikes.
Speaker A:Maybe we should go back to those early roots of thank you for loving me, Jesus.
Speaker A:I'm so happy.
Speaker A:Because then when we did that, it was so pure.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:And sometimes because of sin, we get a little soiled.
Speaker A:It's true.
Speaker A:It's just really.
Speaker A:It's just the truthfulness of the walk.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:How long did the waters prevail upon the Earth when it flooded during Noah's time?
Speaker A:Was it 40 days, 150 days, 2 years, or 7 years?
Speaker A:The answer is 150 days is how long the water prevailed on the Earth.
Speaker A:It rained for 40 daysy waysies and 40 nightsy wighties, but it did not stay on the earth the 150 days.
Speaker A:The 40 days.
Speaker A:It stayed on the earth 150 days.
Speaker A:Get that?
Speaker A:Okay, just making sure everybody gets that.
Speaker A:All right, 150 days.
Speaker A:That's how long it prevailed.
Speaker A:All right, here we go.
Speaker A:I'm going to take a short break, then come back.
Speaker A:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Short break.
Speaker A:We'll be back.
Speaker A:Don't go anywhere.
Speaker A:Like any person searching for answers, I too have wondered about him.
Speaker A:He has a weird sense of humor.
Speaker A:If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?
Speaker A:No, I don't think so those big ears really don't help.
Speaker A:Will people enjoy his perspective on culture, politics, food, sports, and local and national news?
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:He's just a client.
Speaker A:Tune in to the David Spoon experience on kaam.
Speaker A:He's not trying to communicate.
Speaker A:In a weird sense, he's telling everybody that's there when they're like, hey, dude, your mom and your bros, man, out right here.
Speaker A:They're coming right here.
Speaker A:And Jesus is like, you know who my mom and my bros are?
Speaker A:They're the people that hear the word of God and do it.
Speaker A:And we had a presidential candidate not too long ago.
Speaker A:I will not name him.
Speaker A:Who specifically, and nobody can tell me, didn't say it because I heard every word specifically said, we got to make our three priorities.
Speaker A:Family, faith, and friends.
Speaker A:That guy is so wrong.
Speaker A:I thank God Almighty he never became president.
Speaker A:Why?
Speaker A:Because family does not come before faith.
Speaker A:If it does, you are in trouble.
Speaker A: Jesus said in Matthew: Speaker A:Uh, oh, well, he didn't mean it.
Speaker A:Oh, because then he said this right after.
Speaker A:Or if you love your son and daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine.
Speaker A:He didn't mean that either.
Speaker A:It's like, see, you can't get away from it because you love your mother, you love your father, you love your son, you love your dad, you love anybody more than me, you are in trouble.
Speaker A:Okay, here's the bottom line.
Speaker A:There's nothing wrong with family.
Speaker A:There's nothing wrong with friends, but they are behind your faith.
Speaker A:Your faith is.
Speaker A:First, you want to know why?
Speaker A:You want me to give you the math on the whole issue?
Speaker A:I'm going to give you the math.
Speaker A:You know, I mean, numbers don't lie.
Speaker A:It's just people who use numbers that lie.
Speaker A:Okay, here you go.
Speaker A:Ready?
Speaker A:80, 90 or 100 years versus 60 billion gazillion trazillion years.
Speaker A:Which one's bigger?
Speaker A:Okay, 80, 90 years, 100 years.
Speaker A:That's family and friends.
Speaker A:Your faith, a zillion, bazillion gazillion trazillion bazillion years.
Speaker A:Get it?
Speaker A:Math doesn't lie.
Speaker A:It's just the people that use math.
Speaker A:Don't forget this.
Speaker A:Statistics don't lie.
Speaker A:It's just the people that do them.
Speaker A:You know, studies don't lie.
Speaker A:It's just the people that write them.
Speaker A:The David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Welcome back to to the David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770.
Speaker A:The truce station here in Texas.
Speaker A:That's K double amen.
Speaker A:770.
Speaker A:The truce station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Let's get ready for the next trivia question.
Speaker A:In Revelation, chapter four, how many elders were seated around the throne wearing crowns of gold?
Speaker A:7, 12, 16, or 24?
Speaker A:Ooh.
Speaker A:In Revelation 4, specifically 4.
Speaker A:4.
Speaker A:In Revelation 4, how many elders were seated around the throne wearing crowns of gold?
Speaker A:Is it 7, 12, 16, or 24?
Speaker A:That is the question.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Or send an email davidemusincrease.org In Revelation chapter four, specifically verse four, how many elders were seated around the throne wearing crowns of gold?
Speaker A:7, 12, 16, or 24?
Speaker A:Hike.
Speaker A:Oh, wait, we already did hike.
Speaker A:That was on Sunday.
Speaker A:All right, so here we go.
Speaker A:Keeping it as simple as we can, I'm going to send you up to the website at this particular point.
Speaker A:2nd Corinthians 8, 3.
Speaker A:For I testify according to their ability and beyond their ability.
Speaker A:They gave of their own accord.
Speaker A:We are encouraging people who have never given to give to the ministry.
Speaker A:We have radio rent that is looming.
Speaker A:When I say looming, I mean looming is a good word.
Speaker A:And we are believing the Lord will help us.
Speaker A:And I am asking you to participate in that.
Speaker A:I've already told you what it'll sound like if we don't get things paid.
Speaker A:This is a ministry that depends 100% on donations.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:This is everything I do between 50 and 60 hours.
Speaker A:I'd probably say around that ballpark.
Speaker A:I mean, I think that's fair to say.
Speaker A:But we have been so blessed and just so encouraged by the Lord.
Speaker A:And I just want to keep it going.
Speaker A:And I want you to want to keep it going, too.
Speaker A:So please be in prayer and please be a participant in the giving.
Speaker A:Check it out on the website.
Speaker A:Hemustincrease.org Prayer request hemostincrease.org Praise report.
Speaker A:Hemostincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.
Speaker A:Hemustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.
Speaker A:Hemustincrease.org he must increase.org I'm telling you, you gotta get like, a second part to that.
Speaker A:It's just so cheery.
Speaker A:There's gotta be, like, another thing that goes with it, you know?
Speaker A:It's like, it's so like, whoa.
Speaker A:That's so much fun.
Speaker A:Let's go.
Speaker A:You know.
Speaker B:That should have been playing when the Chiefs had the ball Sunday night.
Speaker A:That's a good one right there.
Speaker A:That is pretty funny right there, my friend.
Speaker A:All right, your trivia question.
Speaker A:Revelation 4.
Speaker A:How many elders were seated around the throne wearing crowns of gold?
Speaker A:7, 12, 16 or 24.
Speaker A:If you think you know, you can reach out to us.
Speaker A:What is our numbers?
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker B:Let's go live.
Speaker B:Faith in the past.
Speaker B:Let's go live.
Speaker B:Faith in the past.
Speaker A:Alright, today's got some interesting things.
Speaker A:Not brilliant, but some interesting things.
Speaker A:I like this kind of stuff.
Speaker A: o bear with me on this day in: Speaker A: The first program ever,: Speaker A:A 35 minute adaptation of the play Rur, which stands for Rossum's universal Robots.
Speaker A:Isn't that just the weirdest thing?
Speaker A:Like where did they get that?
Speaker A:It was on the BBC back when the BBC was worth considering.
Speaker A:Isn't that just weird?
Speaker A: Like: Speaker A:Is that weird?
Speaker B:I wonder how, I wonder what the reaction was to it.
Speaker B:Was it received well?
Speaker B:Was it like loved when it came out?
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:That's a great question.
Speaker A:I mean, obviously the genre has continued so it couldn't have been too bad.
Speaker A:But then again, the news has been around for a long time and that's awful.
Speaker A:So I don't know.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker B:That's a good point.
Speaker A:Yeah, I have to kind of figure that out.
Speaker A:Today is also make a friend day.
Speaker A:Don't forget your February buddies.
Speaker A:If somebody is mentioned that we've prayed for, you're thinking about or comes to mind while you're doing the show, make that your February buddy and pray for them.
Speaker A:Today is also get out your guitar day.
Speaker B:Well, I can't celebrate.
Speaker B:I don't have one.
Speaker A:Yeah, I don't.
Speaker A:Don't you think that somebody made that up so that people would buy guitars?
Speaker A:Get out your guitar day.
Speaker A:I don't have a guitar.
Speaker A:You don't have a guitar.
Speaker A:Let's buy one.
Speaker A:I mean, something's not right there and.
Speaker B:If I had one, I could get it out, but I don't know how to play it.
Speaker A:You can hold it up though.
Speaker A:That's what Most of those people are doing on the super bowl because they're not actually playing instruments.
Speaker A:It's also National Peppermint Patty Day.
Speaker A:The candy Peppermint Patty.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:I got it.
Speaker A:And my favorite on this is Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day.
Speaker A:Because you can't do any.
Speaker A:Once the milk is spilled, you can't do anything about it.
Speaker A:There's no point in crying.
Speaker A:Unless then you don't have any more milk for cereal.
Speaker A:And then that would seem like a reason that you might want to cry because then you can't have more cereal.
Speaker A:Okay, well, maybe not.
Speaker B:I'll just say, or when you pour a bowl of cereal, then you open your fridge and realize you have no milk.
Speaker A:Will water work?
Speaker A:No, it won't.
Speaker A:All right, your trivia question.
Speaker A:Revelation 4.
Speaker A:How many elders were seated around the throne wearing crowns of gold?
Speaker A:7, 12, 16, or 24?
Speaker A:Go back to the text as we do now.
Speaker A:Listen, I'm enjoying this text because I love Romans, chapter eight.
Speaker A:And I know I could teach it theologically.
Speaker A:I can pick up some really cool points.
Speaker A:And you'd be like, oh, that's cool.
Speaker A:I haven't thought of that.
Speaker A:But that's not what this is about.
Speaker A:Romans, chapter eight is about the core of what we believe.
Speaker A:Do you believe that Jesus loves you?
Speaker A:Yes, Jesus loves me.
Speaker A:This I know.
Speaker A:For the Bible tells me so.
Speaker A:Do you believe it?
Speaker A:I know you believed it, but do you still believe it?
Speaker A:You see that difference?
Speaker A:If Jesus stood in front of you right now, would it be the same love that when you coming from him, that what you thought initially came from him?
Speaker A:The answer is he doesn't love you any less.
Speaker A:That's the truth.
Speaker A:So when you go into Paul's writing, he says, can anything ever separate us from Christ?
Speaker A:Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble?
Speaker A:No, it doesn't mean that.
Speaker A:If we have calamity.
Speaker A:Calamity.
Speaker A:That's not a good thing, man.
Speaker A:Calamity is a bad thing.
Speaker A:If we're persecuted, if we're hungry or even cold, or in danger, threatened with death, for even the scripture says, verse 36, for your sake, we are killed every day.
Speaker A:We are being slaughtered like sheep.
Speaker A:People are taking it on the chin because of their faith in Christ.
Speaker A:Does that mean that he loves us less?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:We're in spiritual warfare with Satan on a regular basis, which is why we're told to put on the armor of God.
Speaker A:Does that mean he loves us less because we have to put on the armor of God?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:The enemy is at war with us because we love Jesus.
Speaker A:The world is at war with us because we love Jesus.
Speaker A:Our flesh is at war with us because we love Jesus.
Speaker A:Does that mean that Jesus loves us less?
Speaker A:No, it doesn't.
Speaker A:I want you to fully understand that your circumstance.
Speaker A:I'm going to say this very, very carefully, but very forcefully.
Speaker A:Your circumstance does not determine the level of love that God has for you, good or bad.
Speaker A:That is nothing in the realm of what the love of God is for you.
Speaker A:Oh, see, but that's what they used to think, that if you were blessed financially, that God must love you.
Speaker A:Well, they were wrong.
Speaker A:And in fact, those very people who thought that were the very people that had Jesus crucified so wrong.
Speaker A:But, Dave, the situation has been drastic.
Speaker A:It's been dreaded.
Speaker A:It's been hard.
Speaker A:I get it.
Speaker A:I think that's where the calamity word comes into play.
Speaker A:But it doesn't change that your circumstance, your situation, your.
Speaker A:Your life, the way things unfold does not equate to the level of God's love for you, period.
Speaker A:The fact that we don't engage with God when we go through those things does declare our shortsightedness, because through him, we can endure everything.
Speaker A:But understand what I'm saying to you.
Speaker A:Your situation, evaluated by the world, evaluated by your family, evaluated by your closest friends, evaluated by the church.
Speaker A:Your circumstance does not determine the level of love that God has for you.
Speaker A:Oh, but Dave, I've been through so much pain.
Speaker A:I got it.
Speaker A:I've been through a lot of pain.
Speaker A:Not as much as many people, more than others.
Speaker A:I got it.
Speaker A:That has nothing to do with it.
Speaker A:God's love for you is more stable than the earth itself, because the earth will pass away, but his love for you will not.
Speaker A:No escaping that.
Speaker A:It is steadfast.
Speaker A:When you come to Him, Abba, Father, and you're talking to him, it's not that he doesn't know everything he's done and all this other thing.
Speaker A:His love for you is not diminished since you first recognized.
Speaker A:It's not gone down.
Speaker A:It's perfect for you.
Speaker A:It's us that moves off of the balance beam, not God.
Speaker A:We move away.
Speaker A:He doesn't.
Speaker A:That's a big difference, right?
Speaker A:Yes, it is.
Speaker A:In Revelation, chapter four, how many elders were seated around the throne wearing crowns of gold?
Speaker A:7, 12, 16, or 24.
Speaker A:And the answer is 24.
Speaker A:Just like the show that had Keith or Seven a long time ago.
Speaker A:All right, we'll take our break and then we'll come back.
Speaker A:You're listening.
Speaker A:To the David Spoon experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Short break.
Speaker A:We'll be back.
Speaker A:Don't go anywhere.
Speaker A:When confronted by the unimaginable, look at how some of the Bible heroes responded.
Speaker A:Abraham's wife Sarah laughed when the Lord promised her a son in old age.
Speaker A:Why did Sarah laugh?
Speaker A:Is anything too hard for the Lord?
Speaker A: Lord answered, that's Genesis: Speaker A:Zechariah, priest in the temple, asked, how can I be sure of this?
Speaker A:To Gabriel, I am Gabriel, the angel answered, I stand in the presence of God, have been sent to speak to you and tell you this good news.
Speaker A:This is out of Luke 1:19.
Speaker A:In other words, God was saying, God can do this.
Speaker A:Mary exclaimed, how are you going to do this?
Speaker A:When Gabriel brought her that great news of her son that she would bear, the angel assured her, nothing.
Speaker A:With God nothing will be impossible.
Speaker A:Luke 1:37 the disciples questioned Jesus, and he answered them, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Speaker A: Matthew: Speaker A:Is anything too hard for me?
Speaker A: Jeremiah: Speaker A:Romans 8:31 Praise to him who is able.
Speaker A:Listen, this is Ephesians 3:20.
Speaker A:Praise to him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us.
Speaker A:Finally, when life just seems impossible, we can memorize and believe and agree with the Apostle Paul's conclusion of all his personal struggles.
Speaker A:I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, which is in Philippians 4:13.
Speaker A:Darkness comes.
Speaker A:This is from John Piper.
Speaker A:This next statement.
Speaker A:Darkness comes in the middle of it.
Speaker A:The future looks blank.
Speaker A:But with God nothing is impossible.
Speaker A:He has more ropes and ladders and tunnels out of pits that you can ever conceive of.
Speaker A:So wait and pray without ceasing and hope.
Speaker A:I think that this kind of thought process, it's not name it and claim it.
Speaker A:It's just believing that God is the God that can do anything, is applicable for his kids to operate in when their situation seems impossible.
Speaker A:That we deal in the truth of the possible that God brings.
Speaker A:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
Speaker A:That's Ka Man 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Last trivia question.
Speaker A:When Aaron stretched out his hand with the rod and smote the dust of the earth, what did the dust Become?
Speaker A:When Aaron stretched out his hand with the rod and to smote the dust of the earth, what did the dust become?
Speaker A:Was it locusts, frogs, mud, or lice?
Speaker A:Was it locusts, frogs, mud, or lice?
Speaker A:Exodus 8, 16, 17.
Speaker A:That's the question.
Speaker A:When Aaron stretched out his hand with the rod and smote the dust of the earth, what did the dust become?
Speaker B:Come.
Speaker A:Locusts, frogs, mud, or lice.
Speaker A:Exodus 8, 16, 17.
Speaker A:If you think you know, you can give us a holla.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You have that moment.
Speaker A:You have got the text.
Speaker A:It is there before you.
Speaker A:Exodus 8, 16, 17.
Speaker A:Aaron stretched out his hand with the rod, smote the dust of the earth.
Speaker A:What did it become?
Speaker A:Locust, frogs, mud, or lice?
Speaker A:It might be a variant of the word lice.
Speaker A:Okay, we'll see.
Speaker A:Oh, here we are in this part right here.
Speaker A:Okay, listen, I'm gonna back it up and do the whole rev.
Speaker A:Here we go back to verse 35.
Speaker A:Can anything ever separate us from Christ love?
Speaker A:Does it mean he no longer loves us?
Speaker A:If we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or we're hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death, even the scripture says, for your sake, we are killed every day.
Speaker A:We are being slaughtered like sheep.
Speaker A:Verse 37.
Speaker A:And everybody should have this.
Speaker A:No, despite all these things.
Speaker A:No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours.
Speaker A:Through Christ, who loved us.
Speaker A:And then using the King James, nay.
Speaker A:And all these things, we are more than conquerors.
Speaker A:I love this text because that phrase more than conquerors means.
Speaker A:Wait.
Speaker A:More than conquerors.
Speaker A:Which is why I like this overwhelming victory.
Speaker A:We have overwhelming victory in Jesus.
Speaker A:And even if you're having trouble, even if there's calamity, even if you're being persecuted for your faith, even if you're hungry or if you're cold or you're in danger or you're threatened with death, even if that is taking place, we have overwhelming victory through Jesus Christ, who loved us.
Speaker A:Why do we have overwhelming victory through Jesus Christ, who loved us?
Speaker A:Because he loves us.
Speaker A:Us.
Speaker A:That's why.
Speaker A:You see, the problem that we have is we're not equating his love with victory.
Speaker A:We're just equating his love with the sacrificial moment.
Speaker A:There's nothing wrong with understanding the sacrifice, but you have to understand that the love that Jesus has for you and I.
Speaker A:That's what makes us overwhelmingly victorious.
Speaker A:That's what makes us overwhelming victorious.
Speaker A:It's the very love that Jesus has for you and I.
Speaker A:If it was based on my strength, I'd be dead.
Speaker A:If it was based on your strength, dead.
Speaker A:It was based on your good works, dead.
Speaker A:If it was based on anything but his love, we'd be embarrassed.
Speaker A:Big trouble.
Speaker A:But all these things, and all of these things, and all of these things he's just mentioned.
Speaker A:And by the way, every one of those things is a situation.
Speaker A:The whole rest of the verse we'll get into next week is on encounters.
Speaker A:In other words, one is situations that has to do with anything.
Speaker A:The other one has to do with personages, which is anybody.
Speaker A:We'll deal with that next week.
Speaker A:But I want you to catch this.
Speaker A:All of these things that we have gone through, the overwhelming victory is ours in Jesus Christ, who loved us.
Speaker A:That love puts us in a place to walk in victory.
Speaker A:Now there's two things I can say to you.
Speaker A:Do you think that Jesus loves you?
Speaker A:Then are you understanding that that's what gives you the ability to walk in victory?
Speaker A:It's not your brilliance.
Speaker A:It's not your good works.
Speaker A:It's the faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:It's always about Jesus.
Speaker A:Never change, never change.
Speaker A:It's always there.
Speaker A:And you know, that circumstance that you think you can't overcome, you are wrong.
Speaker A:You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Speaker A:And he will never leave you nor abandon you.
Speaker A:When Aaron stretched out his hand with the rod, smote the dust of the earth, what did the dust become?
Speaker A:King James.
Speaker A:New King James.
Speaker A:Locusts, Frogs?
Speaker A:Mud or lice?
Speaker A:It was lice or gnats.
Speaker A:Either one of those would be fine.
Speaker A:You could have answered either of those I would have given you credit for.
Speaker A:Check out Exodus 8, 16, 17.
Speaker A:That'll do it for today.
Speaker A:You've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:22 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.
Speaker A:More insanity with Spoonanity.
Speaker A:Talk to you then, just as I am.
Speaker A:He reached down and seek me touches my freedom.
Speaker A:Views and opinions expressed in the preceding program are those of its participants and do not necessarily reflect those of KAAM.
Speaker C:DJRD Broadcasting or its sponsors.
