02-11-2025 part 1: The David Spoon Experience 02-11-25 part 1

The imperative focus of this discourse is the exhortation to "speak faith" into our circumstances, a theme prominently articulated by Dr. David Spoon. He expounds on the necessity of articulating one's faith in the face of adversity, emphasizing that our words in connection with God's power hold the power influence our outcomes. By citing the biblical narrative of Jesus cursing the barren fig tree, Dr. Spoon elucidates the significance of direct communication with our challenges, encouraging us to address our difficulties with unwavering faith. The dialogue further explores the profound implications of prayer and belief, suggesting that a genuine, faith-filled petition can yield transformative results. Ultimately, we are invited to foster an unwavering trust in God’s sovereignty and benevolence, thereby enabling us to navigate life's trials with conviction and assurance.

The discourse presented by Dr. David Spoon intricately examines the profound concept of faith as it pertains to our everyday circumstances. The conversation is rooted in the biblical narrative of Jesus cursing the fig tree, which serves as a metaphorical illustration of the power of faith when confronted with doubt. Dr. Spoon elucidates the necessity of speaking directly to our situations, advocating for a vocal expression of faith that acknowledges God's omnipotence in our lives. He posits that just as Jesus addressed the fig tree, we too must articulate our challenges and petitions with a clear and unwavering belief in God's ability to intervene and effect change. This episode serves as a clarion call for listeners to embrace a faith-filled dialogue with their circumstances, invoking a sense of urgency to engage actively with their spiritual journey.

Takeaways:

  • In the pursuit of faith, we must actively engage our belief in God and speak to our circumstances with conviction.
  • Jesus exemplified the importance of faith when he directly addressed the fig tree, illustrating our need to vocalize our faith in prayer.
  • The teachings of Jesus encourage us to believe that God can intervene in our lives, moving the metaphorical mountains we encounter.
  • Our prayers should reflect a partnership with God, trusting in His will and timing rather than our own desires for immediate gratification.
  • Recognizing and acknowledging moments when God answers prayers can deepen our faith and encourage others in their spiritual journeys.
  • Faith, when combined with action and spoken words, has the potential to manifest significant changes in our lives and circumstances.

We have no idea what's going to happen and we don't care.

Speaker A:

But for the next few minutes, I want to talk hope with you.

Speaker A:

So here we go.

Speaker A:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

Speaker A:

Pretty straightforward.

Speaker A:

You only have two to choose from.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

Your answer is for you alone.

Speaker A:

Do you prefer to read the Old Testament or the New Testament?

Speaker A:

And why do you prefer to read the Old Testament or the New Testament?

Speaker A:

And why do you like it when you're in the Psalms and the Proverbs?

Speaker A:

Or do you like it when you're in the general epistles?

Speaker A:

Do you like the Gospels?

Speaker A:

Do you like the different elements of history?

Speaker A:

Do you prefer to read the Old Testament or the New Testament?

Speaker A:

And why?

Speaker A:

Now, if you have an opinion, a comment, a thought or a question to that or some other question you got rolling around, hey, don't let it die of loneliness.

Speaker A:

Just reach out and give us a call.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like talking to a person that you can count on.

Speaker A:

Aw, that's nice.

Speaker A:

Thank you, David.

Speaker A:

Happy Tuesday.

Speaker A:

Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.

Speaker A:

How art thou doing today?

Speaker A:

I was trying to think of something clever to respond to that, but today's going good.

Speaker A:

How's your day going?

Speaker A:

It's going pretty good.

Speaker A:

It's going pretty good.

Speaker A:

I had a nice talk with Don.

Speaker A:

I gave him his multiple congratulations.

Speaker A:

Congratulations for his Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl.

Speaker A:

Got a couple things that we're working on.

Speaker A:

We do have people we gotta pray for.

Speaker A:

Things are going on like right now.

Speaker A:

We're gonna get to that.

Speaker A:

But overall I'm gonna say, yeah, yeah, things are good because the Lord loves us.

Speaker A:

And that's good enough right there.

Speaker A:

That gets you through a whole bunch of stuff, doesn't it?

Speaker A:

Just get you through it, right?

Speaker A:

Just say yeppers.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

Yipper skippers.

Speaker A:

Yipper skippers.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker A:

That's right, folks.

Speaker A:

We make up stuff.

Speaker A:

It's fun.

Speaker A:

Nice answer, by the way.

Speaker A:

Yippers.

Speaker A:

All right, here it is.

Speaker A:

Keeping it so simple.

Speaker A:

I'm going to really just keep it.

Speaker A:

Keep it simple.

Speaker A:

Listen, listen, listen.

Speaker A:

I want you to be aware that you can call us during the show that number.

Speaker A:

We've told you.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

When you call that number jamming Jacob, he will answer.

Speaker A:

Please do not ask him to give you all of his academic grades from elementary.

Speaker A:

We are trying to do the show.

Speaker A:

I'm just trying to help people.

Speaker A:

It's great to say appreciate you, love you, praying for you so and so forth, but make sure you don't take up too much time because it's all part of the show.

Speaker A:

The other thing that you can do is you can text during the show.

Speaker A:

Now, we don't get every text that we get is not the nicest text in the world.

Speaker A:

It's kind of how that world works, so to speak.

Speaker A:

But you are welcome to do so throughout the show.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

So you can text during the show.

Speaker A:

You can call during the show.

Speaker A:

You can also email during the show.

Speaker A:

Davidemustincrease.org that's David, my name.

Speaker A:

D A V I D at a with a circle.

Speaker A:

He must increase John 3:30.

Speaker A:

He must increase.

Speaker A:

I must decrease.org cause we're a nonprofit corporation.

Speaker A:

So you can call, you can text, or you can email.

Speaker A:

And what we want you to be able to do is share with us what's going on in your life.

Speaker A:

How can we bless you?

Speaker A:

How can we encourage you?

Speaker A:

What do you need?

Speaker A:

Do you need an opportunity to share something that the Lord has done?

Speaker A:

Maybe it's just that the Lord answered the most simplistic prayer.

Speaker A:

Noel and I were praying.

Speaker A:

Cause we have to switch doctors because of her particular system in healthcare asking us to switch doctors.

Speaker A:

We prayed about it.

Speaker A:

We asked the Lord.

Speaker A:

We talked to these people.

Speaker A:

They could not find the company.

Speaker A:

We thought that was funny.

Speaker A:

I prayed about it this morning.

Speaker A:

And then the lady got back to me and said, lo and behold, we found it.

Speaker A:

See, to me, that's an answer to prayer.

Speaker A:

To me, you think, well, that's just an oversight.

Speaker A:

Yeah, but those oversights get removed when the hand of God stands, steps in.

Speaker A:

And that's what we want.

Speaker A:

We want the Lord stepping into those things.

Speaker A:

That's a praise report.

Speaker A:

That's the Lord helping Noelle and I.

Speaker A:

I told her, she wrote back, awesome.

Speaker A:

We both are excited because, okay, we both got that sense this is the right place.

Speaker A:

We're gonna go in that direction.

Speaker A:

Here's what I'm trying to tell you.

Speaker A:

When you have something happen that the Lord does for you, recognize it, acknowledge it.

Speaker A:

I hope you write it down.

Speaker A:

But if you don't write it down, share it, tell other people, it will bless them, it will encourage you, and it will honor God.

Speaker A:

Maybe you've just got a prayer request.

Speaker A:

You're in the middle of stuff and you're trying to deal with it.

Speaker A:

We've got a couple people that we're gonna be praying for.

Speaker A:

A couple people have been in surgery now.

Speaker A:

They're out of surgery.

Speaker A:

A couple people are sick.

Speaker A:

We're gonna be praying for them.

Speaker A:

We have one of my best friends, Cindy, is taking a very important test that she needs for this next step in her career.

Speaker A:

We're gonna pray for her, and then we're gonna pray for the audience.

Speaker A:

And you know what?

Speaker A:

We're gonna pray for the audience.

Speaker A:

Listen to what I'm telling you.

Speaker A:

That everybody takes a deep breath and slows down and relaxes.

Speaker A:

You're thinking, what do you mean?

Speaker A:

I know there's a lot of things going on.

Speaker A:

There's a lot of stuff going on up and down, all over the place.

Speaker A:

Slow down.

Speaker A:

Nothing is happening apart from the Lord knowing nothing is taking place in anybody's life that God is unaware of.

Speaker A:

Not a bird falls to the ground that the Lord doesn't know.

Speaker A:

So we need to rest in that.

Speaker A:

So you can call us for a prayer request.

Speaker A:

You can call us for a praise report.

Speaker A:

It could be something you just want to share.

Speaker A:

We'll do Bible trivia later.

Speaker A:

It could be any of those things that you want to get involved with.

Speaker A:

If we can be a blessing to you, we'll do our best to do it here.

Speaker A:

Right now, I want you, if you're driving, don't close your eyes.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

But I want you to take your faith and bring it with mine.

Speaker A:

We'll take a collective faith and we'll bring it before the Lord and petition for some of the people that need help.

Speaker A:

So let's do that right now.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now and we thank you and we praise you.

Speaker A:

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.

Speaker A:

Not ours, yours.

Speaker A:

We know you can do anything.

Speaker A:

You are Abba, Father, and we love you and we surrender our lives to you.

Speaker A:

And right now, Lord, we're just gonna thank you that papa is doing better.

Speaker A:

Papa has been recovering from a major surgery, getting through so much stuff, so faster than anybody thought.

Speaker A:

We praise you for that.

Speaker A:

But he's got a long recovery.

Speaker A:

And papa, Lord, that's Aunt Deb's daughter in law's dad.

Speaker A:

And we're just asking for your grace and your mercy in that situation, please.

Speaker A:

So we're asking for graciousness and a quick on the healing.

Speaker A:

Speed up that healing, Lord.

Speaker A:

We're also praying for Pamela who went through her procedure today, that all the news is good news and that Jeanette would be full of confidence that you're in charge.

Speaker A:

Lord, we lift up Roz to you who wasn't feeling well, still struggling.

Speaker A:

We ask you to touch her in her body, top to bottom.

Speaker A:

We ask you to protect Angelina while she's going through her different processes.

Speaker A:

We have people, Lord, that are hurting specifically.

Speaker A:

We know that people that we love, Lord, are actually going through difficult times, difficult pains.

Speaker A:

And we're asking for your grace to touch their lives.

Speaker A:

We're asking for your grace to touch Keith Oakley.

Speaker A:

Lord, my friend Cindy, she's taking a test.

Speaker A:

It's a major test in life.

Speaker A:

I just pray she would just, Lord, not stress, she would not be uptight, but that you have her covered.

Speaker A:

And the Lord, every one of us, myself included, myself included, God, you look upon my heart.

Speaker A:

You know every ounce of me that we would all take a deep breath, a breath of confidence, a breath of trust.

Speaker A:

A breath of faith.

Speaker A:

And that we would not try and scurry about, but instead we would fix our eyes on you.

Speaker A:

Since you are the king of the universe, Jesus, you are the Prince of peace.

Speaker A:

Bring your priesthood and your prince position into our lives, that we may be at peace after all.

Speaker A:

That's what you told them every time you showed up.

Speaker A:

Peace, peace.

Speaker A:

Show up now for all of us.

Speaker A:

Let your peace surround us.

Speaker A:

Heavenly Father, we ask you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, that you would minister to these people, comfort these people, help these people, encourage these people, and that the kingdom of the gospel of peace would be upon upon us.

Speaker A:

We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior.

Speaker A:

Amen and Amen.

Speaker A:

Okay, okay.

Speaker A:

That's how we start it.

Speaker A:

You got something you need prayer for, don't hesitate to reach out.

Speaker A:

You gotta just respond to it.

Speaker A:

We wanna go Back to Matthew 21.

Speaker A:

We had a really cool teaching last week.

Speaker A:

I wanna go back to it.

Speaker A:

Cause there's a part of it that I didn't talk about.

Speaker A:

Some people are gonna scratch their heads.

Speaker A:

Listen, I love you, remember that, but I always found this part fascinating and I dodged it before and I'm not going to dodge it this time.

Speaker A:

So I want to make sure we're kind of all together there.

Speaker A:

And this has to do with Jesus cursing the fig tree.

Speaker A:

We talk about all these different elements.

Speaker A:

We talked about faith.

Speaker A:

We talked about understanding that you can't have faith and doubt and expect something to emerge out of that.

Speaker A:

If you think of faith is three points and you think of doubt as minus three points, and you put them together, you got nothing.

Speaker A:

So we have to do a better job of having faith.

Speaker A:

And there's no question about that, that Jesus is teaching that to his disciples.

Speaker A:

In fact, in verse 21 of chapter 21, he says, I assure you that's Jesus way of saying, I am double dog telling you.

Speaker A:

So you get this.

Speaker A:

Have faith and don't doubt.

Speaker A:

And if you do that, you can do things like this much more than even this.

Speaker A:

You can say to the mountain, may God lift you up and throw you into the sea.

Speaker A:

And it will happen.

Speaker A:

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

Speaker A:

I'm not sure why we're having a difficult time with that.

Speaker A:

I think the bigger problem is that people often will ask for things that are oriented a little bit more selfish oriented.

Speaker A:

And that's not what the Lord's talking about.

Speaker A:

He's not gonna give you something that's gonna aid your flesh.

Speaker A:

He's not gonna give you something that is gonna be, what's the word I want?

Speaker A:

He's not gonna give you something that's gonna make your flesh tingle.

Speaker A:

Those are the prayers that he says no to, which is what James referred to when he says, you ask and you do not receive because you ask amiss that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Speaker A:

God's not answering that.

Speaker A:

You're not getting that one from the Lord.

Speaker A:

He answers things that are in the framework of his kingdom.

Speaker A:

That's why the prayers we bring to God are submitted to him.

Speaker A:

So that his kingdom come, his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Speaker A:

But I still want to go back to this one point and I don't want you to miss this.

Speaker A:

It's a little goofy, but it's kind of cool.

Speaker A:

So if you look at this, Jesus goes up to the fig tree, correct?

Speaker A:

He notices the fig tree besides the road.

Speaker A:

He went over to see if there were any figs on it, but there were only leaves.

Speaker A:

He said to it, may you never bear fruit again.

Speaker A:

And immediately the fig tree withered up.

Speaker A:

Let's understand that.

Speaker A:

In the Gospel of Mark, we understand it was over a 24 hour period, but Matthew, when he does it just goes right to the conclusion, okay, Jesus cursed the fig tree.

Speaker A:

The curse came on the fig tree.

Speaker A:

It began to wither and die.

Speaker A:

Matthew skipped straight to that.

Speaker A:

And then Mark explains, it happened over more time, but within 24 hours, which is exceptionally fast for any piece of fig tree to die from the roots.

Speaker A:

It's amazing.

Speaker A:

But that's not even the point.

Speaker A:

I want you to pick up on this.

Speaker A:

And I hesitate to highlight it, but I can't because I have to give the full counsel of God.

Speaker A:

And I don't want you to lose your mind and I don't want you to go freaking out and I don't want you to go write a letter to the editor.

Speaker A:

We don't have an editor, so it really doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

But you have to acknowledge this.

Speaker A:

You have to be with me in this.

Speaker A:

Jesus looks at the fig tree.

Speaker A:

It's not happening.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

I understand there's different interpretations of the fig tree is, or whatever the case may be.

Speaker A:

Of course it could just be a fig tree.

Speaker A:

We're just going to say that for right now.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

So Jesus pulls up to it and goes, hey, you know what?

Speaker A:

You're not doing anything for me right now.

Speaker A:

You're not going to be doing anything for anybody ever.

Speaker A:

That's it?

Speaker A:

But please hear this.

Speaker A:

Don't lose your mind.

Speaker A:

He spoke to a tree.

Speaker A:

Oh, you can tell me he didn't.

Speaker A:

But yes, he did.

Speaker A:

He spoke to a tree.

Speaker A:

Did you hear what I said?

Speaker A:

He spoke to a tree.

Speaker A:

He told the tree, you're done, You've had your wrong, it's over, you're done.

Speaker A:

I just find that amazing.

Speaker A:

I don't care.

Speaker A:

I don't care if that seems weird to other people or doesn't seem weird to other people.

Speaker A:

It seems weird to me.

Speaker A:

Jesus spoke to the tree.

Speaker A:

Mr.

Speaker A:

Tree, your time is up.

Speaker A:

Like, what?

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

I think I'm even more amazed that the disciples didn't go, you know, you're talking to a tree.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

I'm just being honest with you.

Speaker A:

But the component here that we skip over is simply this.

Speaker A:

Jesus actually spoke to the tree.

Speaker A:

That perhaps is an indicator that you and I should speak more specifically to our circumstances and the things that are within them.

Speaker A:

After all, that's what Jesus did.

Speaker A:

He spoke specifically to the circumstance.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

In many instances, he brings it to the Father.

Speaker A:

In this instance, he went right to the source.

Speaker A:

Hey, Mr.

Speaker A:

Tree, your time is done.

Speaker A:

Bye Bye.

Speaker A:

And I find that amazing.

Speaker A:

I'm the kind of guy that thinks of that and goes, that's just weird.

Speaker A:

But maybe there's a truth, a correlation, that we should speak a little bit more to our circumstance with the mouth of faith.

Speaker A:

Because it's in the very next thing when they're all freaking out.

Speaker A:

The disciples in verse 20 were amazed that they saw this and they said, how did it happen?

Speaker A:

Jesus told them, I assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt, you could do things like this and much more.

Speaker A:

Would you think he's teaching that for nothing?

Speaker A:

We go through our circumstance and we just go, oh, woe is me.

Speaker A:

Maybe we should say, in the name of Jesus, the peace of God and the will of God be done.

Speaker A:

Maybe we should speak more to it.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Don't get too weird on it.

Speaker A:

But, you know, it's kind of cool, isn't it?

Speaker A:

Yeah, it's pretty cool.

Speaker A:

But the idea that Jesus spoke directly to the tree does give us a little bit of leniency to speak to our situations.

Speaker A:

The faith that Jesus is telling us to have, maybe that's part of the connection, that when God said to Jeremiah, when Jeremiah said, I am but a child, and God said, say not you are a child, maybe him speaking that, that he was a child was reducing his own faith, his own ability to encounter and do the things that God wanted him to do.

Speaker A:

It's not name it and claim it.

Speaker A:

I can't stand that.

Speaker A:

But it is agreement with God, and maybe we should get into more of an agreement with God in the words that we use.

Speaker A:

I'm not confident that you get to do that all over the place.

Speaker A:

So let me say this real quickly.

Speaker A:

Red light turn green.

Speaker A:

I'm not sure that applies.

Speaker A:

But something that has to do with your provision, your subsistence, your life, your existence, I think that's more in line.

Speaker A:

And it's not to be flesh tickling.

Speaker A:

I think that's fair to say.

Speaker A:

But you can't tell me he didn't speak to a tree, because he did.

Speaker A:

But then he says this in verse 22.

Speaker A:

If you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer, prayer shows you immediately.

Speaker A:

Let's just talk about this right now.

Speaker A:

If the fact that it is in prayer, it is this communion with God, it is this connection with God, you're not doing it by yourself ever.

Speaker A:

Apart from Jesus, you can do nothing.

Speaker A:

But there is this commitment that Jesus makes to us, saying, if you have faith, if you genuinely have faith, you can do much more with God than you think you can do.

Speaker A:

And that's where it comes into play for us.

Speaker A:

I believe that God can do anything.

Speaker A:

He can't sin, but I mean, I believe he can do anything, right?

Speaker A:

But I don't always believe God wants to do things for me.

Speaker A:

And that's the fight that I have to have.

Speaker A:

I have to believe that God likes me enough.

Speaker A:

And the thing that I'm petitioning is right before him.

Speaker A:

And that's why I submit it to Him.

Speaker A:

But I still have to have this confidence that he wants to because he loves me.

Speaker A:

And that's part of that fight we go through as well.

Speaker A:

So why I'm bringing this up and why I want to make sure you catch this is because he says, you can say to the mountain, may God lift you up and throw you into the sea, and it will happen.

Speaker A:

And if you believe, you'll receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

Speaker A:

Now, again, a lot of people use this passage for self gratification, self glorification, or selfish purposes.

Speaker A:

And that's wrong.

Speaker A:

That's sin.

Speaker A:

That's not going to happen.

Speaker A:

That's not okay.

Speaker A:

That's not what the Lord's talking about.

Speaker A:

And the truth of the matter is I don't know a lot of people.

Speaker A:

I don't know a lot, doesn't say anybody, but I know a lot of people that look at the mountain that they have.

Speaker A:

And they, you know, if it's an actual mountain, they don't really need to move it.

Speaker A:

But the mountain can certainly be understood as mountains in their lives that need to be exercised with faith that the faithfulness of God will prevail.

Speaker A:

I think we can understand.

Speaker A:

I don't think it's that difficult.

Speaker A:

And I don't think it's wrong, as most scholars will say, that Jesus is talking about the mountains in our lives.

Speaker A:

Is he talking about a literal mountain?

Speaker A:

I've heard that debate for a while.

Speaker A:

I think it's a useless debate.

Speaker A:

I think the debate is simply when you do things with God, all things are possible, but sometimes you have to believe it.

Speaker A:

So much so that you can even speak it and hear it and still believe it.

Speaker A:

So he's telling us that we need to have faith in these engagements.

Speaker A:

He's telling us that we didn't have faith in these moments where we're in partnership with God, in these moments of prayer, even speaking to the situation, being specific enough to know specifically where our faith is going.

Speaker A:

And I go back to the blind men and yes, I do it because I think it's right, Jesus, these blind men are there.

Speaker A:

It's like, what do you want me to do for you?

Speaker A:

Why did he ask that question?

Speaker A:

They were blind because Jesus wants them to specifically state what they need.

Speaker A:

That's why.

Speaker A:

And it's like, why?

Speaker A:

What do you want?

Speaker A:

We want to see.

Speaker A:

Do you believe that I can do this?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

The combination is what brought it forward.

Speaker A:

So here it is.

Speaker A:

If we're looking at a mountain, if we're looking at an issue, if we're looking at a situation and you're saying, may God lift you up, the phrase may God already tells you you're in submission and partnership with God.

Speaker A:

And it has to be with God.

Speaker A:

I'm trying to make sure everybody understands this.

Speaker A:

This is no self actualization.

Speaker A:

I can't stand that stuff.

Speaker A:

It has to be in partnership with God.

Speaker A:

It has to be understood.

Speaker A:

Apart from Me, you can do nothing.

Speaker A:

And the fact of the matter is, apart from God, we can do nothing because every breath comes from God.

Speaker A:

But it's just as ludicrous for us to say that God doesn't answer prayer when Jesus makes it absolutely clear that we will receive what we ask for in prayer.

Speaker A:

Now prayer, of course, is the very nature of prayer is dependence on the Lord.

Speaker A:

And our dependence comes from the Lord.

Speaker A:

Our victory is in the Lord.

Speaker A:

It's not in our own strength.

Speaker A:

And we don't need to create new Formulas out of this.

Speaker A:

People don't go, I want to say it this way and do it this way.

Speaker A:

And A and B.

Speaker A:

That's not what we're talking about.

Speaker A:

We need to operate in faith with God.

Speaker A:

If we don't operate in faith, guess what happens?

Speaker A:

Not much, because it takes faith as the vehicle that God has chosen to work and to see the things of God.

Speaker A:

And without faith, it's impossible to please him.

Speaker A:

And what the Savior is telling you and I, in a daily format.

Speaker A:

A daily format format, you'll get to that later, is to operate in faith.

Speaker A:

So as you're encountering what you're encountering, no, the devil's not more powerful than God.

Speaker A:

No, you can't do this stuff on your own.

Speaker A:

No, it's not about you.

Speaker A:

In the context of all things point towards you.

Speaker A:

No, no, no.

Speaker A:

But it is this.

Speaker A:

Do you believe.

Speaker A:

Do you believe that God can handle it?

Speaker A:

Do you believe that God can move the mountain?

Speaker A:

Do you believe that God can change the circumstance?

Speaker A:

Is it in fact in you to say it only takes a moment for a miracle and God brings the moment?

Speaker A:

Is it in you to say it and to believe it?

Speaker A:

That's what Jesus is talking about.

Speaker A:

I find it amazing.

Speaker A:

I find it extremely fascinating.

Speaker A:

I find myself guilty, not having the amount of faith I should have.

Speaker A:

I tell the Lord on a regular basis, I'm sorry I don't have more faith for all that you've done for me.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry I don't have greater faith and I don't stand in that faith.

Speaker A:

Do you know what I'm talking about?

Speaker A:

If you have been in Christianity for any amount of time, you know exactly what I'm communicating.

Speaker A:

We need to stand in faith, operate in faith, speak it in faith, trust God for it in faith.

Speaker A:

We need to do this in partnership with God, and by golly, we need to believe because Jesus told us to have faith and don't doubt.

Speaker A:

And you can do things like this and much more.

Speaker A:

Jesus said, get that.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

We'll take our break and then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break.

Speaker A:

We'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

What is the David Spoon experience?

Speaker B:

Ephesians, chapter 5.

Speaker B:

Ephesians, chapter 5.

Speaker B:

Our words will justify us or condemn us.

Speaker B:

And we understand our words will justify us and condemn us because they reveal our hearts.

Speaker B:

So therefore, in conclusion, that our words justify us or condemn us because they reveal our Hearts we need to remember and operate and function in Ephesians, chapter 5, verse 20, which says this.

Speaker B:

And actually you can even look at verse 19.

Speaker B:

Speak to one another in Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.

Speaker B:

Ephesians 5:19.

Speaker B:

Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the faith, Father, for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Speaker B:

Because you know that by your words you're justified and condemned, because you know they reveal your heart.

Speaker B:

You ought to make sure that you follow the scriptures that Paul commands us to follow.

Speaker B:

And you ought to be being thankful in everything.

Speaker B:

You ought to be being thankful in everything.

Speaker B:

And if you are thankful in everything, that will be a part of your verbalization or your speech, and that will be a revelation as to what's in your heart.

Speaker B:

Are you a thankful Christian for everything?

Speaker B:

And you say, well, Dave, I'm thankful that he saved me, but I'm going through this trial and I don't like it.

Speaker B:

I'm not so thankful for the trial.

Speaker B:

And I say, I understand.

Speaker B:

I understand that again, not a new revelation coming right here.

Speaker B:

Romans, chapter 8, verse 28 tells you the ticket, the method, the system by which you can be thankful in everything.

Speaker B:

Dave, I should be thankful in a divorce proceeding.

Speaker B:

I should be thankful that my brother is a drug addict.

Speaker B:

I should be thankful that I'm going bankrupt.

Speaker B:

I should be thankful that these terrible things are happening or that I should be thankful that I can't sleep?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

I think you should read Romans 8:28 with me and respond to this.

Speaker B:

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him.

Speaker B:

So I think the answer is, can you be thankful in all those things?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

For going through a divorce?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

But that God is going to work into your lives, good things through this process?

Speaker B:

Absolutely.

Speaker B:

If you don't believe that God is going to work things that are good into your lives and your tr, you don't believe anything he says.

Speaker B:

Because one of the greatest premises that Jesus laid down is, and I caught this just earlier this week, let not your hearts be troubled.

Speaker B:

There will be trouble in the world.

Speaker B:

I've overcome the world.

Speaker A:

It's like.

Speaker A:

But Jesus said, don't let your heart be troubled.

Speaker B:

As though we had a choice.

Speaker A:

We do.

Speaker A:

We do.

Speaker B:

And we should be thankful in all of it while we're going through for.

Speaker A:

The actual drug addiction?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

But that God's not going to give up on the person.

Speaker B:

He's going to work good out of it.

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
