02-12-2025 part 1: Divine Heritage: Understanding Eternity Through Old Testament Scriptures

Dr. David Spoon elucidates the concept of eternity as it is portrayed in the Old Testament, emphasizing that the notion of eternal life is indeed embedded within its texts. He articulates that the Psalms, particularly Psalm 61, serve to affirm God's perpetual protection and the continuity of a heritage shared among those who revere His name. Spoon's exploration reveals that the biblical understanding of eternity transcends mere temporal existence, weaving together the past, present, and future in a divine tapestry of faith. He asserts that the Old Testament is not devoid of eschatological themes, but rather, those themes are often overlooked by modern readers. Through this discourse, we are invited to reconsider our perceptions of eternity and its implications for our lives as believers.

Engaging with the profound themes of divine mercy and truth, Dr. David Spoon articulates the significance of these concepts within the framework of Psalm 61. This psalm serves as a poignant reminder of God’s protective nature, as the psalmist implores the Lord to prepare mercy and truth to preserve him, showcasing a dynamic relationship between the believer and the divine. Dr. Spoon delves into the nuances of mercy as the grace that shields individuals from the consequences of their failings while simultaneously fostering an environment where truth abounds. He draws connections to the broader biblical narrative, illustrating how these attributes are woven throughout scripture, culminating in the New Testament's revelations. The episode encourages listeners to cultivate a heart that seeks God's mercy and to recognize the transformative power of truth in their lives, urging them to embrace these principles as foundational to their daily walk of faith.

Takeaways:

  • The concept of eternal life is intricately woven throughout both the Old and New Testaments, as evidenced by the psalmist's reflections on God's everlasting protection.
  • David Spoon elucidates the significance of recognizing one's heritage as a believer, connecting present faith with the lineage of faithful followers of God throughout history.
  • The exploration of mercy and truth reveals that these divine attributes serve to protect and sustain believers in their spiritual journey and daily lives.
  • In Psalm 61, the assurance of God's eternal presence and support is a central theme, emphasizing the importance of reliance on divine guidance in every circumstance.
  • Spoon highlights the necessity of daily commitment to faith practices, stressing that true Christianity must be lived consistently rather than sporadically or superficially.
  • The discussion underscores the relevance of personal introspection, encouraging listeners to consider what they learn about themselves in the context of their relationship with God.

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

That thingy right there.

You better get ready.

Speaker A:

I think you're ready.

Speaker A:

I think you're ready.

Speaker A:

If you're ready, get ready.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

I got a good one.

Speaker A:

What are you learning about yourself this week?

Speaker A:

What have you learned about yourself that is giving you thought that perhaps the Lord is teaching you, showing you areas to grow in, areas that you have grown in, things that you've done better, things that you've done worse?

Speaker A:

What are you learning about yourself?

Speaker A:

It doesn't have to be positive, negative, whatever.

Speaker A:

Are you in that process that you are learning a little bit more about yourself?

Speaker A:

As the Lord teaches us and leads us along the way.

Speaker A:

If you have an answer to that question or an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a different question, please don't let it die of Loneliness.

Speaker A:

Just reach out and give us a call.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like feeling confident that you have done your very best.

Speaker C:

Thank you, David.

Speaker C:

Happy Wednesday.

Speaker A:

Happy Wednesday to you, my good friend.

Speaker A:

How are things going?

Speaker A:

All going well, I assume.

Speaker C:

All going well so far.

Speaker C:

How's your day going?

Speaker A:

It's been very good so far, I must say.

Speaker A:

Sometimes on Wednesdays, people don't know this, but on Wednesdays.

Speaker A:

So I have my devotions go.

Speaker A:

I have, like, multiple books that I study in.

Speaker A:

But typically Wednesdays is usually like Jeremiah, Isaiah kind of study.

Speaker A:

And sometimes when you read those, it can be very challenging because it's when the Lord goes, you didn't do this right.

Speaker A:

You didn't do this right.

Speaker A:

It's a lot of that challenge.

Speaker A:

But today really helped me understand that the Lord often chastises his people and his leaders because they're not caring and taking care of the people.

Speaker A:

Very interesting to see that the hand of God disciplines leaders because they're not doing the job he wants them to do because of how much he loves his people.

Speaker A:

Isn't that cool?

Speaker A:

It's like, oh, that's nice.

Speaker A:

I'm glad I have a dad like that, man.

Speaker A:

Are you kidding?

Speaker A:

So that was kind of, I thought, a really cool element to my devotions today.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

Anyway, hope all will go well for everybody else.

Speaker A:

We do want to make people aware.

Speaker A:

You are able to call us.

Speaker A:

It is a telephone.

Speaker A:

I don't know if Jacob and I can make this any clearer, but you do have to call it in order to make a phone call.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I don't think I can say.

Speaker A:

Can I say that any different.

Speaker A:

You have to call it to make.

Speaker A:

Make a phone call.

Speaker A:

Is there anything else I can say about that?

Speaker C:

No, that sums it up.

Speaker C:

You call it, it'll ring, and I'll pick it up.

Speaker A:

There it is.

Speaker A:

So for those that are overwhelmed by this new technology, you can use the phone.

Speaker A:

It is okay to do so.

Speaker A:

Additionally, if you want to, you can text.

Speaker A:

Texting, not Texas Texting is fun to do as well.

Speaker A:

We try to respond to a lot of them, but we get a lot more text than we used to.

Speaker A:

So takes me a little longer to get there.

Speaker A:

But you are welcome to text.

Speaker A:

It's a different phone number.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

That is ultimately the ministry line but during the show it is text.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Additionally you can send an email because we just got it covered all over the place.

Speaker A:

Davidemustincrease.org David is my name, hence the David Spoon experience.

Speaker A:

Hence what they named me at birth.

Speaker A:

Hebrew name Shalom David doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

David at a with a circle.

Speaker A:

He must Increase from John 3:30.

Speaker A:

Be in touch with that.

Speaker A:

We're gonna be talking about that in the 660 minute segment davidmustincrease.org, cause we're a nonprofit corporation.

Speaker A:

So you can call, you can text, you can email.

Speaker A:

Why would you do it?

Speaker A:

To share something the Lord has done with you for you.

Speaker A:

Helping you in something.

Speaker A:

A praise report, a testimony, something that's a blessing.

Speaker A:

Just to share that and, and bless other people with it and honor God through it.

Speaker A:

Additionally, maybe you've got a prayer request.

Speaker A:

I wanna point out that some of our people have been praying.

Speaker A:

We were praying for Jeanette's daughter Pamela.

Speaker A:

She did, as far as we know right now, did pretty well.

Speaker A:

Did pretty well.

Speaker A:

Got through that process when she was in some surgery.

Speaker A:

Also been praying for papa which is Aunt Deb's connection, Papa being connected to her daughter in law.

Speaker A:

And so we got some really good reports on there.

Speaker A:

And so we just want people to be aware, those kind of things.

Speaker A:

You think, well that's not a big deal.

Speaker A:

It's a big deal when it's happening to you and when you're sharing that those things are people are getting through them and they're being comforted by them.

Speaker A:

It helps for people that are going through it or about to go through it.

Speaker A:

We need to keep praying for some of our people, for Rosalind and Robert and Angelina.

Speaker A:

We need to keep praying for Jeanette and some of her physical struggles.

Speaker A:

We need to keep praying for Keith Oakley.

Speaker A:

We need to keep praying for our brother Roger and Roger's wife.

Speaker A:

And we need to keep praying for one another.

Speaker A:

That's the whole Feb buddies idea, is to hear somebody's name, think about somebody, know somebody and make that a part of your commitment to help love the brethren.

Speaker A:

By this we know we've passed from death to life because we love the brethren.

Speaker A:

And so in that process it's important to understand, to ask God if you're not there.

Speaker A:

Help me get that heart that says, I want to carry other people's burdens.

Speaker A:

I want to be like that, since that's how God is teaching us, and that's how we identify with Jesus, as he has done that for us.

Speaker A:

So we really encourage that.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

So FEB buddies, prayer requests, praise reports, give me anything you want to share.

Speaker A:

We'll do trivia in a little while, but right now, as it stands, we are jumping into Psalm 61, and I was reviewing this last night, and there's some stuff here that I picked up, a little newer stuff that I was like, you know, I don't think I ever saw that before.

Speaker A:

And that's one of the things that's awesome about the Word of God.

Speaker A:

And I want to make sure everybody hears what I have to say about this.

Speaker A:

The Word of God is alive.

Speaker A:

And there are times where you will read it and just be straightforward with me.

Speaker A:

Sometimes reading about the mole has a little bit of a length to it.

Speaker A:

I understand.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Seeing the miracles happen.

Speaker A:

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, stuff like that.

Speaker A:

That's a little cooler sometimes than reading about the mole.

Speaker A:

But what we need to understand is the Word of God written by the Holy Spirit, using humans to write.

Speaker A:

But remember, it was the Holy Spirit that used a human to give the birth of Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

So that's pretty good company.

Speaker A:

The idea behind that is to understand the Word of God is alive.

Speaker A:

It is able to revive you, to encourage you, to make you almost dance in ways you haven't danced before.

Speaker A:

Because it's able to restore your soul.

Speaker A:

It's able to renew your mind.

Speaker A:

It's able to encourage you.

Speaker A:

That's what you're reading.

Speaker A:

You're not reading some dusty old book.

Speaker A:

You're reading the very words that God, the creator of the universe, wants his creation to know.

Speaker A:

That's what you're reading.

Speaker A:

So whenever you read and you catch something new, it's like, you should be like, oh, boy.

Speaker A:

Either write it down, highlight it, do whatever.

Speaker A:

Do some kind of notation so that you can remember.

Speaker A:

Because it's such a blessing that God is blessing you through his written word, the Logos.

Speaker A:

Get that.

Speaker A:

All right, so picking it up in Psalm chapter 61, and we're starting with verse five.

Speaker A:

For you, O God, have heard my vows.

Speaker A:

You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Speaker A:

You will prolong the king's life, his years, as many generations he shall abide before God forever.

Speaker A:

I love the Psalms.

Speaker A:

Every once in a while, you run into something Where David's writing or somebody else is writing.

Speaker A:

And as they're writing, they have a little drop off.

Speaker A:

And you know what happens.

Speaker A:

And it's like, there's a little discouragement, a little this, this, that.

Speaker A:

But there's always this recovery in the Psalms.

Speaker A:

And that's like our life.

Speaker A:

We'll walk with the Lord, things will go good.

Speaker A:

Then sometimes we find.

Speaker A:

Find yourselves in a little bit of a stumble place.

Speaker A:

And then we're like.

Speaker A:

But then the Lord brings us through, and we know that.

Speaker A:

And he puts a new song in our mouth, and he puts our feet upon a rock.

Speaker A:

And when that happens, we are just, like, touched.

Speaker A:

Well, that's what the psalm says.

Speaker A:

Always, like a little tough air.

Speaker A:

A little tough air.

Speaker A:

But then.

Speaker A:

And he recovers into it.

Speaker A:

This psalm, for those that may have forgotten, has to do with the assurance of God's eternal protection.

Speaker A:

So when he says, you, God, have heard my vows.

Speaker A:

You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Speaker A:

A heritage is something that's passed down.

Speaker A:

It connects the past, the present, and the future.

Speaker A:

So by connecting it, he's saying, I have the heritage of those who fear your name.

Speaker A:

Going all the way back to Adam, moving all the way forward.

Speaker A:

David knows things are going to happen after him that'll all be connected because all of us who love the Lord and fear his name share this together.

Speaker A:

And he says that in such a wonderful way.

Speaker A:

It's just like, wow, I don't think I caught that.

Speaker A:

When David was mentioning that, he was talking about a heritage that connects the past, the present, and the future.

Speaker A:

For all of those who fear the name of the Lord, all of those phenomenal people that went before David and that will go after David, we're all connected.

Speaker A:

You're connected to Abraham, you're connected to King David.

Speaker A:

You're connected to Jesus, who's at the cornerstone of all of this.

Speaker A:

And if the Lord tarries, you'll be connected to somebody who steps up, who's even a better Valentrius than Billy Graham.

Speaker A:

But you're connected to him too.

Speaker A:

We're connected to one another.

Speaker A:

Isn't that cool?

Speaker A:

It's like, oh, that's pretty good.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's the family of God.

Speaker A:

Then he says this, and got to be careful how I share this one.

Speaker A:

Got to be careful.

Speaker A:

You will prolong the king's life, his years, as many generations.

Speaker A:

Now, it's worth noting, and I want to say this and make sure everybody understands that we find this in Hebrew, that there is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment.

Speaker A:

Now, I know people don't think think of it in these terms, but I have a message for you.

Speaker A:

God has an appointment for everybody's time clock.

Speaker A:

Everybody has a time's up clock.

Speaker A:

Now, people who think, you know what, I'm going to outsmart God because I'm going to be perfectly healthy or I'm not going to do a thing, I'm going to be even worse and try and do terrible things in my body.

Speaker A:

Any of those things basically is biblically correct because you're never gonna outsmart God in regards to your time for the clock to punch and you're never gonna change what that time is.

Speaker A:

It's an appointed unto man once to die.

Speaker A:

There is zero wrong and everything right with trying to live the best way you can and not trying to destroy the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

That is right.

Speaker A:

And you can live your life with less misery by doing the right things that the Lord has set before us.

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

There's nothing wrong with that.

Speaker A:

But there is a date and a destiny that you do not know.

Speaker A:

And if the rapture of the church doesn't take place first, you will have a personal rapture for sure.

Speaker A:

Do you get what I'm saying by that?

Speaker A:

So he acknowledges God's in charge of that.

Speaker A:

God counts the days.

Speaker A:

God has given us a number of days.

Speaker A:

He is in charge.

Speaker A:

It's amazing that we forget that and think, well, I'll do this, rather than, he just haven't told you what that day is.

Speaker A:

I know it's hard for me to say this to somebody, but you can be really, really healthy and go too early or early, like by what we would think.

Speaker A:

And you can be really, really not healthy and somehow live to 100.

Speaker A:

You sit there and scratch your head going, what?

Speaker A:

That's because everybody has an allotment of days.

Speaker A:

God is in charge.

Speaker A:

Then this scripture comes up.

Speaker A:

And I remember this because of some things that people said in my background being the Jewish background.

Speaker A:

It says this in verse 7, he shall, referring to the King, which is himself.

Speaker A:

He shall abide before God forever.

Speaker A:

So it's difficult for some people to understand.

Speaker A:

So when they're reading the Old Testament, they don't see eternity as much of a part of it as they do in the New Testament.

Speaker A:

But that's mostly.

Speaker A:

Let me explain this.

Speaker A:

Mostly because they're not looking for it.

Speaker A:

In a psalm like this.

Speaker A:

David's saying, the king's going to be before God forever.

Speaker A:

In Psalm 23:6, by the way, Psalm 23, the most popular Psalm, right.

Speaker A:

The Lord is my shepherd.

Speaker A:

We don't need a lot of proof for that.

Speaker A:

It's just obvious.

Speaker A:

It is, since it's what spoken at funerals as well as other things.

Speaker A:

Here's what it says in Psalm 23:6.

Speaker A:

God making it quite clear through David, goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our life, so we may dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Speaker A:

Well, he's talking about the house of God going to church.

Speaker A:

No, he's not.

Speaker A:

He's talking about the Tabernacle of God for all eternity, hanging out with God in God's house where man meets with God.

Speaker A:

So David's making it abundantly clear, not just in 23, not just in Psalm 16.

Speaker A:

Also here in Psalm 61, Eternity a big part of everything.

Speaker A:

You can't really make an argument that the Old Testament doesn't talk about eternal life, because that's just silly.

Speaker A:

And if you listen to this show, we use silly for jokes.

Speaker A:

So yeah, just take a deep breath on that one.

Speaker A:

to the end in Revelation:

Speaker A:

Take a deep breath.

Speaker A:

Get ready.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

Here's your first trivia question.

Speaker A:

Is the book of second Samuel in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

Speaker A:

Is the Book of second Samuel in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

You can also text:

Speaker A:

That is the question.

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you can reach out to us.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.

Speaker A:

Why?

Speaker A:

Because this ministry exists by the donations of the listeners and we need your help.

Speaker A:

That's why.

Speaker A:

And we don't promise you that you're going to get, you know, a Ferrari or Lamborghini or a donut or even a whistle.

Speaker A:

If I had a Captain Crunch whistle, I could send you, I would.

Speaker A:

I don't.

Speaker A:

I had one before.

Speaker A:

I don't anymore.

Speaker A:

Here's the bottom line.

Speaker A:

Your giving helps us continue the ministry.

Speaker A:

Luke 6:38 says this give and it will be given to you.

Speaker A:

Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap.

Speaker A:

For with the measure you use, it will be Measured back to you.

Speaker A:

That's God who makes that commitment.

Speaker A:

Do.

Speaker A:

Do you understand that?

Speaker A:

Just want to make sure you understand it is Jesus who said that.

Speaker A:

And you can never ever beat God giving no matter how.

Speaker A:

How hard you try.

Speaker A:

Okay, Check out the stuff on the website.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org Prayer Request hemostincrease.org Praise Report emailsincreased.org Looking to Give to this ministry confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

To the nearest convenient parallel div.

Speaker A:

Is that what he says?

Speaker A:

This is like the.

Speaker A:

It's like there's the nearest parallel dimension.

Speaker A:

Just go over there for a while.

Speaker C:

Specifically convenient.

Speaker C:

So if you see a parallel dimension that's not convenient, then don't go there.

Speaker A:

That's it right there.

Speaker A:

That's a great catch.

Speaker A:

Excellent job.

Speaker A:

All right, so is there phones?

Speaker A:

Are we having some people that have called in, but it looks like it went in and out?

Speaker A:

In and out.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

All right, so I don't know if we're having phone problems.

Speaker A:

You just try again.

Speaker A:

There's nothing worth trying on the phone.

Speaker A:

Your trivia question's pretty straightforward.

Speaker A:

Oh, by the way, I want to thank everybody who prayed for me yesterday.

Speaker A:

I was having a little bit of a tickle in the old throat of Rooney.

Speaker A:

I ain't feeling that today.

Speaker A:

So I just want to thank everybody for praying for me.

Speaker A:

I do appreciate that.

Speaker A:

Yes, prayer works and yes, we should be a people that prays because that's what Jesus said we should be like.

Speaker A:

So yeah, we want to do that.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Okay, let's see.

Speaker A:

A couple times the phone has popped on and popped off.

Speaker A:

I've seen it a couple times.

Speaker A:

So let me know what takes place there in the meantime, I'll.

Speaker C:

Okay, it seems to be working now.

Speaker C:

So if you were trying to call, go ahead and call.

Speaker A:

Go ahead and call back.

Speaker A:

Listen to Jim and Jacob.

Speaker A:

He knows what he's talking about.

Speaker A:

He is in charge of the phones.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right, good.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Is the book of Second Samuel in the Old Testament, the New Testament or neither?

Speaker A:

Here's a bonus question.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to give it to you for the fun of it.

Speaker A:

You don't have to really answer it, but which number of book is it?

Speaker A:

What's the number of book of it?

Speaker A:

If it's in the book?

Speaker A:

If it's in the Bible.

Speaker A:

Just kind of a little thing to throw at you if you think you know.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Additionally, send an email davidemustincrease.org and back to the text we go.

Speaker A:

Why would we not?

Speaker A:

Because it's a phenomenal text and it's a great time to understand the word of God.

Speaker A:

Listen to what David says.

Speaker A:

He just got done saying for you.

Speaker A:

O God, have heard my vows.

Speaker A:

You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Speaker A:

You will prolong the king's life, his years, as many generations he shall abide before God forever.

Speaker A:

Then he says this.

Speaker A:

Oh, prepare mercy and truth which may preserve him.

Speaker A:

And so I will sing praise to your name forever.

Speaker A:

It's another one of those forever things that I may daily perform my vows.

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker A:

Uh.

Speaker A:

Oh, guess what we got here.

Speaker A:

David cries out to God to prepare mercy and truth which will protect him.

Speaker A:

God's mercy protects you.

Speaker A:

Did you know that?

Speaker A:

Did you know that?

Speaker A:

God's mercy protects you.

Speaker A:

See, grace is receiving something you can't deserve, right?

Speaker A:

That's grace.

Speaker A:

Mercy is not getting something you do deserve.

Speaker A:

So anytime something is about to happen to you because you're a sinner, you deserve it.

Speaker A:

But when it doesn't happen, that's mercy.

Speaker A:

So truth and mercy work together to protect us.

Speaker A:

And so God is keeping us safe.

Speaker A:

And we recognize it's God's mercy and God's truth.

Speaker A:

And he says in verse eight, I will sing your name, praises to your name, forever, ever.

Speaker A:

He's just like, he loves this forever thing.

Speaker A:

This psalm is so good.

Speaker A:

Cause it makes reference to eternity multiple times.

Speaker A:

But he closes out with one that each one of you should know deeply by now.

Speaker A:

And we're gonna repeat it in the first 10 minutes of the next 60 minutes.

Speaker A:

He closes it out by saying that I may daily perform my vows.

Speaker A:

Let me think for a moment.

Speaker A:

Where does the word daily usually show up?

Speaker A:

Get it?

Speaker A:

So I may daily perform my vows, reaching into the Lord and being connected to the Lord and to his people.

Speaker A:

Sunday and Wednesday nights is not impressive.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

It's not that Keith Green song.

Speaker A:

Such a good song.

Speaker A:

The song about no compromise.

Speaker A:

He wrote the lyrics.

Speaker A:

It's not, it's not biblical truth, but the point is well taken.

Speaker A:

He's referring to Jesus talking to his people, saying, if you can't come to me more than Sundays and Wednesday nights, then don't bother coming at all.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

I remember hearing that as a young Christian going man, we need to be in this.

Speaker A:

Not sometimes.

Speaker A:

This needs to be the seek first the kingdom of God life that we're supposed to have.

Speaker A:

Christianity is not an add on, right?

Speaker A:

That is incorrect.

Speaker A:

It is the core.

Speaker A:

It is the base.

Speaker A:

The things that you get to do around that, those are the add ons.

Speaker A:

And so he says, I will daily fulfill my vow.

Speaker A:

He's daily going to make his commitment.

Speaker A:

In David's case, his daily commitment, by the way, was praise.

Speaker A:

Isn't that funny?

Speaker A:

Because you have one Thessalonians 5:18 in everything.

Speaker A:

Give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Speaker A:

You have Ephesians 5:20, giving thanks to the Father for everything.

Speaker A:

You have Hebrews 13, the fruit of my lips, giving thanks and praise to you, Lord.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

It seems like that's not just in the Old Testament, but maybe perhaps could be in the New Testament too.

Speaker A:

That is correct, Amunda.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

Bringing praise and thanksgiving in the fruit of our lips daily is a vow that we.

Speaker A:

I can tell you right now, you're going to be doing that for all eternity.

Speaker A:

Might as well get in the mood, get going and make it the habit.

Speaker A:

It needs to be.

Speaker A:

Back to the trivia question.

Speaker A:

Is the book of 2 Samuel in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

Speaker A:

The answer is it is in the Old Testament.

Speaker A:

Old Testament.

Speaker A:

And it is the 10th book in the order of starting at Genesis.

Speaker A:

Pretty cool, huh?

Speaker A:

Not too shabby.

Speaker A:

Not too shabby at all.

Speaker A:

All right, we'll take a short break and then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station air in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break, don't go any.

Speaker B:

What is the David Spoon experience, you say?

Speaker B:

I'll put it to you like this.

Speaker B:

Do you love a good joke?

Speaker B:

That's pretty bad.

Speaker A:

What do you call an animal that doesn't practice what it preaches?

Speaker A:

A hippocritopotamus.

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker B:

Do you love being able to ask questions, comments, or having someone to pray for you?

Speaker A:

Do you have an opinion, a comment, a thought or a question?

Speaker A:

We don't want it to die of loneliness.

Speaker A:

We want it to have a chance.

Speaker B:

And last but not least, do you love some trivia?

Speaker A:

All right, we got our trivia question.

Speaker A:

Who made clothes out of leaves that were sewed together?

Speaker A:

Somebody want to answer the trivia question?

Speaker A:

Okay, hold on, hold on.

Speaker A:

Here I go.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker A:

Talking to Mary.

Speaker A:

This is Al.

Speaker A:

This is brother Ace.

Speaker D:

This is Eric, this is Jeff.

Speaker B:

Now, if that doesn't make you curious, maybe you should tune in and check it out for yourself.

Speaker A:

Think of me as the big brother that won't go away.

Speaker A:

That's me.

Speaker B:

Tune in to the David Spoon experience, weekdays at 1:30pm on 770 Kaam.

Speaker A:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker D:

Hi, David.

Speaker D:

This is John.

Speaker A:

Hi, John.

Speaker A:

How are you?

Speaker D:

I'm fine, thank you.

Speaker D:

And you?

Speaker A:

I'm doing fantastic.

Speaker A:

I'm actually having a wonderful day.

Speaker A:

And every once in a while, you get some extra time in with the Lord, and you just think, man, I can't wait to hear that trumpet.

Speaker A:

I just can't wait.

Speaker A:

Can't wait.

Speaker D:

What's going on?

Speaker D:

You want to know the answer?

Speaker A:

I guess I do.

Speaker A:

I do.

Speaker A:

And so this is a good one.

Speaker A:

How many times did the boy who Elisha raised from the dead, how many times did.

Speaker A:

Did he sneeze?

Speaker D:

7.

Speaker A:

That is correct, sir.

Speaker A:

You are right.

Speaker A:

A little unknown fact from a lot of people that they might not be aware of is that actually he.

Speaker A:

So after Elisha stretched himself out, the child sneezed seven times.

Speaker A:

And then the child opened his eyes, which means that he sneezed those seven times without his eyes open, which is like, wow, that's bizarre.

Speaker A:

It's like, how do you do that?

Speaker D:

I thought about it that way.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It's like, how would you do.

Speaker A:

I mean, how do you.

Speaker A:

I mean, my eyes go in the back of my head when I sneeze.

Speaker A:

I just don't know how that happened.

Speaker D:

Didn't he lie prostrate across him?

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker A:

That is exactly what he did.

Speaker D:

I thought, okay, if he was sneezing, was he sneezing in Elijah's face?

Speaker A:

That's an excellent question.

Speaker A:

I do not have that answer.

Speaker A:

But I.

Speaker A:

You have to sit there and wonder.

Speaker D:

I'll find that one out, huh?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, the prophets went through a lot.

Speaker A:

Although that could be a tough one.

Speaker A:

Excellent job, my friend.

Speaker A:

Excellent answer.

Speaker D:

Good to you.

Speaker D:

Good to talk to you.

Speaker A:

Nice to talk to you as well.

Speaker D:

All right.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

God bless.

Speaker D:

Bye, bye, bye.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

We roll.

Speaker A:

We roll.

Speaker A:

That's a great question, that he sneezed in his face.

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
