02-10-2025 part 1: Eternity with God: A Detailed Exploration of Our Blessed Hope

The central theme of this discourse revolves around the concept of "The Blessed Hope," which signifies the anticipation of an eternal existence with God. Dr. David Spoon elucidates the profound significance of this hope, emphasizing that it transcends mere temporal expectations and encompasses a divine promise of eternal communion with the Creator. He articulates that this hope is not limited to theological abstractions but is a tangible assurance that shapes the believer's life and perspective. Furthermore, Dr. Spoon engages with scriptural references, particularly from Titus 2:13, to underscore the unity of God and Savior in the person of Jesus Christ, thereby reinforcing the divinity of Christ as fundamental to Christian faith. The discourse serves as a stirring reminder for believers to anchor their faith in the certainty of God's eternal promise rather than being distracted by transient concerns.

Dr. David Spoon's discourse on 'The Blessed Hope' fundamentally addresses the Christian anticipation of eternal communion with God, with a particular emphasis on the biblical narrative found in Titus 2:13. In this enlightening discussion, Dr. Spoon articulates a vision of hope that transcends the confines of earthly existence, presenting a perspective that encourages believers to look towards the glorious return of Jesus Christ. The integration of theological insights regarding the nature of Christ as both God and Savior is a pivotal theme, underscoring the significance of this identity in understanding the fullness of salvation and the promise of eternal life.

The conversation further explores the implications of this 'blessed hope' for daily Christian living. Dr. Spoon posits that true faith is characterized not only by a belief in future promises but also by an active participation in the present reality of God's grace. He challenges listeners to engage in good works, motivated by the profound understanding of their worth as redeemed individuals, emphasizing that the blood of Christ serves as the ultimate measure of their value in the eyes of God. This call to action is coupled with an invitation for communal prayer, reinforcing the idea that believers are called to support one another in their spiritual journeys.

Throughout the episode, Dr. Spoon's passionate exhortations resonate with the audience, urging them to cultivate a robust expectation for the future while allowing that hope to inform their present circumstances. By framing the 'blessed hope' as not merely an eschatological concept but a transformative reality, he encourages his audience to live in a manner that reflects the values of the kingdom of God, ultimately fostering a deeper relationship with the Creator. This comprehensive approach to understanding hope serves as a powerful reminder of the believer's identity and purpose in Christ.

Takeaways:

  • We examine the theological implications of Jesus being both God and Savior, as presented in the New Testament, affirming His divine nature.
  • In our spiritual journey, we are encouraged to share our testimonies, which strengthen our faith and the faith of others in our community.
  • The essence of our hope lies not merely in the promise of eternal life but in the exhilarating prospect of unending fellowship with God.

Speaker B:

Hello, everybody.

Speaker B:

When it's cold outside.

Speaker B:

Here's what's coming up on today's experience.

Speaker B:

It's Dr.

Speaker B:

Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DDDDDDDS, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.

Speaker B:

Sound effects plays throughout the show which have nothing to do with life.

Speaker B:

But the Bible teaches there's a time to laugh.

Speaker B:

If you're a Kansas City fan, I think you need to be laughing just a little bit.

Speaker B:

The review of the goofy news, which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.

Speaker B:

Yay.

Speaker B:

Life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't.

Speaker B:

If we sit on our blessed assurance humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?

Speaker B:

Well, because I'm here to annoy everybody, that's why.

Speaker B:

Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.

Speaker B:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.

Speaker B:

My name is David.

Speaker B:

Doctor.

Speaker B:

That's right, Doctor.

Speaker B:

Just like every other doctor, Dr.

Speaker B:

David Spoon.

Speaker B:

And I will be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.

Speaker B:

Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.

Speaker B:

Here's the key to the show.

Speaker B:

We don't know what we're doing.

Speaker B:

We have no idea what's gonna happen and we don't care.

Speaker B:

But for the next few minutes, I want to talk faith with you.

Speaker B:

So here we go.

Speaker B:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

Speaker B:

That thingy right there.

Speaker B:

And we asked this in the beginning of the week to get everybody in the right mindset heading into the week.

Speaker B:

What can our prayer warriors pray for you about now?

Speaker B:

Unlike many who claim to be believers, we are those goofier people that think God answers prayers.

Speaker B:

And the people that are in this audience are the best prayerers I know.

Speaker B:

They're the great prayee people.

Speaker B:

And so we take our faith, combine it together.

Speaker B:

We petition the Lord.

Speaker B:

We do it just the way that Jesus set it up for us.

Speaker B:

Looking at Mark:

Speaker B:

Recognizing the ability, making our request known.

Speaker B:

Please let this cup pass from me full submission.

Speaker B:

Nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done.

Speaker B:

What can our prayer people do pray for you about?

Speaker B:

Now we've got a couple people that we're going to be praying for that are sick and that are struggling.

Speaker B:

And we're going to get to that in a little bit.

Speaker B:

We've got other things that we're also going to cover.

Speaker B:

But I want to make sure you understand that if you have a response to that, if you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or your own question, then don't let it die of loneliness.

Speaker B:

Don't be a lone wolf.

Speaker B:

Be part of the family of God.

Speaker B:

Just give us a call.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

Talking of Jam and Jacob, that's like heading into the week with great f faith and expectation.

Speaker C:

Thank you, David.

Speaker C:

Happy Monday.

Speaker B:

Happy Monday to you, my friends.

Speaker B:

Gonna be a fun day Monday.

Speaker B:

I just want to keep in mind, people, we will be doing the super bowl review in Jake's take in the other 60 minutes of the show.

Speaker B:

But in this first 30 minutes, we got a few other things that we need to cover.

Speaker B:

By the way, how are you doing?

Speaker B:

Did you have, in fact, a nice weekend?

Speaker C:

Oh, I thought you were going to ask me if I had a Reese's, which is no, but I did have a nice weekend.

Speaker C:

Did have a nice weekend.

Speaker C:

Had some wings for the Super Bowl.

Speaker B:

Ah, we'll talk about that.

Speaker B:

I also had wings, so we will get into that.

Speaker B:

Interesting.

Speaker B:

All right, so there's a couple things to lay out before you I want you to be aware of.

Speaker B:

You can simply give us a phone call.

Speaker B:

We do not believe it will cause great damage for you.

Speaker B:

We certainly hope it does not.

Speaker B:

We also offer you the opportunity to text while the show is going on.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

I have been made aware that some people really do want me to say it faster.

Speaker B:

So I'm gonna.

Speaker B:

Ready?

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

There it was.

Speaker B:

And so that's how fast it can be said again.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

You can also email davidmustincrease.org that's David.

Speaker B:

My name D A V I D at a with a circle.

Speaker B:

He must increase from John 3:30.

Speaker B:

He must increase imust decrease.org, because we're a nonprofit corporation.

Speaker B:

Pretty straightforward.

Speaker B:

There's ways to reach out to us.

Speaker B:

There's reasons to reach out to us.

Speaker B:

Why?

Speaker B:

Well, it could be for a praise report maybe if you got something that the Lord has done for you, to you, through you over this last weekend or since the beginning part of earlier in the week or even over the last month or the last year, and you just wanna share it.

Speaker B:

It's on your heart.

Speaker B:

Cool.

Speaker B:

Share it.

Speaker B:

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

Speaker B:

When we share things that the Lord does in our lives, it strengthens the testimony in our life.

Speaker B:

It blesses other Christians and it brings glory and honor to God.

Speaker B:

Maybe you've got a prayer request.

Speaker B:

Like we mentioned, we're gonna be praying for several people who are not feeling that great, going through some tough things.

Speaker B:

We're gonna lift them all up before the Lord in just a moment.

Speaker B:

Maybe you have something you just wanna share, something you observed something you've caught, something you just think, this is really cool and I just think it's a blessing.

Speaker B:

Awesome.

Speaker B:

We think that stuff is phenomenal.

Speaker B:

Additionally, we will be doing Bible trivia.

Speaker B:

We don't do so much in politics.

Speaker B:

We're not against politics.

Speaker B:

We just think that for this hour and a half, in all of life, you can spend a little extra time.

Speaker B:

We'll spend a little extra time encouraging one another to draw closer to the Lord because ultimately the answer is more of God in every single situation.

Speaker B:

And we refuse to look at it any other way.

Speaker B:

That's the way that Jesus set it up.

Speaker B:

Sorry, those that are having a hard time, too bad.

Speaker B:

That's the way it goes.

Speaker B:

We do this goofy thing called read the Bible, not just try and fakely quote quote the Bible as some false teachers, even with doctorates, seem to do.

Speaker B:

Anyhow, let us get into the prayer that we're gonna be praying for the people.

Speaker B:

I need you to stretch your faith.

Speaker B:

Let me tell you what's going on.

Speaker B:

And again, we're in Feb buddies.

Speaker B:

Feb buddies means throughout the month of February, if you hear somebody's name, somebody calls in, we talk about somebody, we're praying for somebody, and it connects to you.

Speaker B:

Well, by golly, if it connects to you, maybe that means that you can personally take on a little bit of prayer, a little bit of commitment, a little bit of time.

Speaker B:

Not a ton, but a little bit of time.

Speaker B:

Remember, Paul said, I mention you before the Lord to bring these people before the Lord and ask for their grace and their help.

Speaker B:

Okay, there's nothing weird about that.

Speaker B:

We just tell people they have a kind of a high level of sensitivity.

Speaker B:

We do have somebody on the phone.

Speaker B:

I'm going to get to them in a second.

Speaker B:

But I want to make sure everybody Understands some of these people that we're going to be praying for.

Speaker B:

We're going to be praying for Alex.

Speaker B:

Al's not feeling as great as he wants to a little bit down in the old health department.

Speaker B:

We need to be praying for him.

Speaker B:

We're going to be praying for Rosalind.

Speaker B:

We prayed for her on Friday.

Speaker B:

Angelina making her way to her apartment, her place.

Speaker B:

But then Rosalyn got really sick, ended up at the hospital.

Speaker B:

She needs prayer for health.

Speaker B:

Really deep in the flu.

Speaker B:

We're going to deal with that as well.

Speaker B:

Let's pray for Angelina.

Speaker B:

We're also going to pray for Keith Oakley, who needs continued prayer and continued blessings.

Speaker B:

And also our good friend Noah, the original Robo producer is having some skin issues.

Speaker B:

We're going to be praying for him, too.

Speaker B:

But before we get to those prayers, let's find out who's on the phone.

Speaker B:

Let's send them on through.

Speaker B:

Knock, knock.

Speaker B:

This is David.

Speaker B:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker D:

Hey, David.

Speaker D:

This is Tyler from last minute.

Speaker B:

Hi, Tyler.

Speaker B:

How are you?

Speaker D:

I'm doing well.

Speaker B:

Talk to me.

Speaker B:

You there?

Speaker B:

Oh, I think he got disconnected.

Speaker B:

Okay, just.

Speaker B:

Tyler, just call back, okay?

Speaker B:

And we'll put you on hold.

Speaker B:

And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to pray for these people.

Speaker B:

Then we'll hear from Tyler.

Speaker B:

Okay?

Speaker B:

All right, now for all these other people, I want you to take your faith, put it together with mine.

Speaker B:

What did Paul say?

Speaker B:

Join me in my struggle by praying for me.

Speaker B:

He wrote that letter to the Roman church.

Speaker B:

He was not at the Roman church.

Speaker B:

He was asking them to join him in his struggle through prayer.

Speaker B:

Connecting by sharing one another's burdens.

Speaker B:

That's the same thing we're asking you to do right now.

Speaker B:

Let's do it right now.

Speaker B:

Father, we come before you right now.

Speaker B:

And how we thank you and praise you.

Speaker B:

Hallowed be thy name.

Speaker B:

You are so good to us.

Speaker B:

There is just no way that we can express the right amount of appreciation for the goodness that you've poured into our lives.

Speaker B:

And we see the good, we see the bad, we see the evil, we see the righteous all around us.

Speaker B:

And, Lord, our eyes are focused on you.

Speaker B:

You are where our help comes from.

Speaker B:

Now we lift up these brothers and these sisters that are going through it.

Speaker B:

Lord, right now, we lift up Al, who's not feeling good and just a little bit down.

Speaker B:

Could be having some infection areas.

Speaker B:

We're asking you to bring your healing power into Al's body so that what is bringing him down is nothing, means nothing.

Speaker B:

It's usually it's a nothing thing.

Speaker B:

Reduce it to what it should be.

Speaker B:

Nothing.

Speaker B:

And let him heal.

Speaker B:

Let him sense that vitality and that strength that comes directly from his Creator.

Speaker B:

We lift up the situation for our friend Noah, who's going through tons of skin issues, Lord, just really struggling.

Speaker B:

He's on his knees seeking your help.

Speaker B:

Nobody seems to be able to give him the fullness of the help.

Speaker B:

But you, you are Jehovah, Rapha, and you can heal.

Speaker B:

And we ask you to.

Speaker B:

We don't do everything right, Lord.

Speaker B:

We don't say everything right, but we know that you are the answer and the solution.

Speaker B:

And we ask you to bring healing into Noah's life against these skin issues that keep attacking him.

Speaker B:

I mean, time after time and week after week.

Speaker B:

And, Lord, we lift up our very own Rosalind to you.

Speaker B:

And we're asking you, Lord, she's got the flu.

Speaker B:

She's not feeling good.

Speaker B:

This is getting harder for her.

Speaker B:

She's trying to coordinate for Angelina.

Speaker B:

She's having to lean on other people.

Speaker B:

She doesn't like doing that.

Speaker B:

Lord, we understand that.

Speaker B:

Some of us type A personality like getting everything done.

Speaker B:

But you know what, Lord?

Speaker B:

She has to be fully dependent on you.

Speaker B:

And we are asking you to bring health into her body, restoration into her body.

Speaker B:

Give Angelina all the simplistic comforts she needs to get acclimated.

Speaker B:

Bless the neighbors who are helping Rosalind out and Angelina out and every other person out.

Speaker B:

Let them be blessed for helping and for serving.

Speaker B:

Lord, we lift up Keith Oakley to you, and he's having just a hard time and just wants your deliverance, your touch, your healing.

Speaker B:

He just wants you to put your arms around him, and we ask you to do that as well for Keith and, Lord, for other people who are in our audience who are just struggling, they're a little bit down, they're a little bit weak, they're a little bit short on breath, short on energy, short on strength.

Speaker B:

Pour it out into them your goodness, your grace, your energy, your favor, your kindness, your touch.

Speaker B:

Help them.

Speaker B:

These people.

Speaker B:

These are your kids.

Speaker B:

Our brothers and sisters.

Speaker B:

Help each and every one of them and even those not mentioned who are hurting right now and listening, Bring your healing power to bear.

Speaker B:

Send your word and heal them.

Speaker B:

We don't do this in our own power, and we don't do this in our own name.

Speaker B:

We do this in the power and in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Speaker B:

Amen and amen.

Speaker B:

All right, there you go.

Speaker B:

So we want to keep these people in prayer.

Speaker B:

Please remember them.

Speaker B:

You've got Al You've got Angelina and Rosalind.

Speaker B:

You got Noah.

Speaker B:

You got Keith Oakley.

Speaker B:

You got other people.

Speaker B:

Please remember your FEB buddies keep that going so that they can also get prayer.

Speaker B:

I think we have Tyler back on the phone.

Speaker B:

Is that correct?

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Let's send him on through.

Speaker B:

Knock, knock.

Speaker B:

This is David.

Speaker B:

Is this Tyler?

Speaker D:

Hey.

Speaker D:

Yes, this is Tyler again.

Speaker B:

There we go.

Speaker B:

All right, my brother.

Speaker B:

How's.

Speaker B:

What's happening?

Speaker D:

Hey, I just want to give a praise report.

Speaker D:

Last week you talked about the subtle differences between truth and faith, and it's really helped me over the weekend.

Speaker B:

I'm glad to find a lot of peace with God.

Speaker D:

I just want to appreciate you and just give thanks to God.

Speaker B:

Amen, brother.

Speaker B:

Excellent testimony and we appreciate you.

Speaker B:

And people are praying for you and let you know you're not going through this alone.

Speaker B:

Not only is the Lord with you, but your brothers and sisters are with you, too.

Speaker D:

No.

Speaker D:

Thank y'all so much.

Speaker D:

God bless.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

God bless you, brother.

Speaker B:

Bye bye.

Speaker B:

Excellent testimony by Tyler.

Speaker B:

Good to hear.

Speaker B:

It's always good to hear.

Speaker B:

And what's one of the things that we do?

Speaker B:

Ask people, by the way, if you get prayer and something moves in some direction, it doesn't matter how much.

Speaker B:

Keep people updated.

Speaker B:

It's my biggest.

Speaker B:

I have one pet peeve in this prayer department, and people don't tell you so then you're praying for the same thing.

Speaker B:

You don't know if there's any progress, like, keep people posted.

Speaker B:

That's how we can know how things get going.

Speaker B:

All right, get ready.

Speaker B:

Yeah, we'll do the super bowl stuff in the other 60 minutes.

Speaker B:

Listen, get ready.

Speaker B:

We are in a spot in scripture that is mind blowing.

Speaker B:

Mind blowing, really?

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

No, seriously, we are in.

Speaker B:

For those that don't know Titus 2, we're going to run it from verse 11, but we're actually picking it up at verse 13.

Speaker B:

And I want to say something to you, and I'm going to make my declaration.

Speaker B:

Some people might get offended.

Speaker B:

I'm not seeking to offend you.

Speaker B:

If that happens, I'm very sorry that you are that sensitive.

Speaker B:

That's a nice way to say it, but here we go.

Speaker B:

Titus 2, picking it up in verse 11.

Speaker B:

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people.

Speaker B:

Instructing us to deny is instructing us to deny the godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous and godly way in this present age.

Speaker B:

Talked about that last week.

Speaker B:

Verse 13.

Speaker B:

While we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God, and Savior Jesus Christ.

Speaker B:

So picking it up right Here at verse 13, we start with what is one of the most potent and important verses in the New Testament, as it seems like they all are.

Speaker B:

It states that while we're waiting for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, God and Savior are linked.

Speaker B:

There is no separation to separate two distinct people.

Speaker B:

It is God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Speaker B:

This is evidence of the divinity of Christ.

Speaker B:

And for anybody that says Jesus is not God, you have not read your Bible period right here.

Speaker B:

You just can't miss this stuff if you just read it and take your time while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing and glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, which shows you that Jesus is.

Speaker B:

Is God.

Speaker B:

I always watch for that.

Speaker B:

I always watch people that have a.

Speaker B:

I don't want to say that about Jesus.

Speaker B:

I'll just say God in general kind of smorgasbord the whole thing.

Speaker B:

Nope.

Speaker B:

Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit.

Speaker B:

Three in one.

Speaker B:

One and three.

Speaker B:

Not a problem.

Speaker B:

If you don't like it, tough.

Speaker B:

That's how God manifested himself.

Speaker B:

You think?

Speaker B:

Well, I don't have many illustrations.

Speaker B:

We have the one, you know, the one, you know, Catholic priest who gave us the illustration of the three clover leaf and so on and so forth.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

The other one that gave us the one about water, H2O, steam, ice.

Speaker B:

Same, all same.

Speaker B:

Okay, got it.

Speaker B:

Great.

Speaker B:

All those are great.

Speaker B:

I still like I am David.

Speaker B:

I have a head, I have a heart and I have a body.

Speaker B:

All me.

Speaker B:

That's just one of the ways that I love to understand it.

Speaker B:

I always think of Jesus as the heart.

Speaker B:

Okay, so here's what I'm trying to make you understand.

Speaker B:

Jesus is not some.

Speaker B:

Whatever, just a really good moral teacher.

Speaker B:

Well, the moral teacher taught that he was the way, the truth and the life.

Speaker B:

And no man comes to the Father but through him.

Speaker B:

That's what he taught John.

Speaker B:

Read the book.

Speaker B:

No way around.

Speaker B:

You can't escape it.

Speaker B:

Just look at that.

Speaker B:

John 14 says.

Speaker B:

Look at these verses that make it just absolutely clear.

Speaker B:

It is through Jesus.

Speaker B:

There is one mediator, Jesus, none other.

Speaker B:

That's it.

Speaker B:

Why?

Speaker B:

Because he was born of the Holy Spirit, God and of Mary.

Speaker B:

Human.

Speaker B:

Got it.

Speaker B:

He's the only one that can faithfully represent both humanity and divinity.

Speaker B:

He's the only one ever or there ever will be.

Speaker B:

So we go back to this now and I'm going to get a little revved up.

Speaker B:

Don't get excited.

Speaker B:

I'm going to get a little Little revved up.

Speaker B:

I'm going to challenge you just a little bit because we go back to the prior portion of this verse which says this while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Speaker B:

Now, the blessed hope, some people connect that directly to the Rapture.

Speaker B:

Some people connect that directly to the millennium.

Speaker B:

Okay, but this is about past the rapture and past the millennium because it's about spending eternity with Jesus.

Speaker B:

And that for:

Speaker B:

Oh, I know.

Speaker B:

People are like, well, no, it should be the Rapture.

Speaker B:

No, it should be the millennium.

Speaker B:

No, it should be this.

Speaker B:

No, it should be this.

Speaker B:

It is spending eternity with God.

Speaker B:

And anything less weakens your hope.

Speaker B:

People are like, well, no, because it's a thousand years.

Speaker B:

I understand it's a thousand years, but I'm looking for 60 trillion.

Speaker B:

You want to put that on the same level?

Speaker B:

I'm telling you right now, the church never had a problem with this, never misunderstood this, never even had a moment.

Speaker B:

The blessed hope is this eternity we're spending with God when the mortal puts on immortal and we're dancing on streets of gold, and there's no more pain and there's no more sorrow.

Speaker B:

Let's use those phrases real carefully.

Speaker B:

No more pain, no more sorrow, no more sin, no more evil, no more darkness.

Speaker B:

That's the hope.

Speaker B:

If your hope is less than that, it's weak because God is going to hang out with us for trillions and trillions.

Speaker B:

And you know how he used to.

Speaker B:

That thing, that guy?

Speaker B:

Was it Carl Sagan?

Speaker B:

Billions and billions and billions of stars.

Speaker B:

How about trillions and trillions and quadrillions and quadrillions of years with God?

Speaker B:

Okay, never being boring.

Speaker B:

Why is that, Dave?

Speaker B:

Because Revelation 21:5 says, Behold, I make all things new.

Speaker B:

But that was back then.

Speaker B:

No, it's in the perfect present tense.

Speaker B:

I make all things new.

Speaker B:

Not I did make.

Speaker B:

Not.

Speaker B:

I will make.

Speaker B:

I am making.

Speaker B:

Oh, we're going to do this with God.

Speaker B:

It's going to be new adventure after new adventure after new adventure.

Speaker B:

It's not about sitting there strumming a harp on a cloud going, this is all I'm going to do.

Speaker B:

Plus, I'm going to read my magazine for my dentists.

Speaker B:

Oh, boy.

Speaker B:

Oh, boy.

Speaker B:

Oh, look, it's.

Speaker B:

Oh, look, it's highlight magazine.

Speaker B:

Yay.

Speaker B:

Okay, come on.

Speaker B:

That's not heaven.

Speaker B:

That's kind of hellish.

Speaker B:

Here's the bottom line.

Speaker B:

The bottom line is eternity is going to be so phenomenal and Our blessed hope is so phenomenal.

Speaker B:

We're going to be hanging out with God.

Speaker B:

It's not just a matter of asking questions.

Speaker B:

It's about being in the very presence of God with nothing to ever disrupt us again.

Speaker B:

Do you ever notice that sometimes when you pray, there's this moment when you're praying, or maybe you're at church and you're doing worship, or maybe the pastor's teaching some really cool thing in your, like, your brain and your heart and your mind.

Speaker B:

You're just fully connecting to it, going, oh, that's so good.

Speaker B:

That's so good.

Speaker B:

Well, how about that all the time?

Speaker B:

Because that's what we got, all the time.

Speaker B:

Not some of the time.

Speaker B:

We're going to spend eternity with God.

Speaker B:

It's never going to end.

Speaker B:

It's not just having eternal life.

Speaker B:

It's having awesome eternal life.

Speaker B:

You see that difference?

Speaker B:

While we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, verse 14.

Speaker B:

He gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession.

Speaker B:

Eager to do good works.

Speaker B:

Proclaim these things, Encourage and rebuke with all authority.

Speaker B:

Let no one disregard you.

Speaker B:

Look, Jesus gave himself for us, to redeem us.

Speaker B:

And when you're struggling, and I know many of you do, and you're trying to figure out your worth, it's straightforward in the Bible, the worth of your life in the mind of God is the blood of Jesus Christ.

Speaker B:

We are owned by Jesus.

Speaker B:

He sacrificed himself to buy us back.

Speaker B:

To redeem means to buy back.

Speaker B:

Never forget your value.

Speaker B:

It's the payment that God made for you.

Speaker B:

It is the blood of Jesus that your life has been paid for.

Speaker B:

Double check Ephesians 1:7.

Speaker B:

Just to make you happy.

Speaker B:

This is how important you are to God.

Speaker B:

That the blood of Jesus was the payment that he made.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

Then he says this.

Speaker B:

You can't miss this.

Speaker B:

This is so good.

Speaker B:

So that he can have a people for his own possession.

Speaker B:

His own possession.

Speaker B:

Okay, so here's the thing.

Speaker B:

And I know people don't like it because you say the word slave.

Speaker B:

What happens?

Speaker B:

They lose their minds.

Speaker B:

Stop being weenies.

Speaker B:

Here's the bottom line.

Speaker B:

American slavery and biblical slavery, not even on the same planet.

Speaker B:

But you better figure this out, because if you don't, you.

Speaker B:

You're going to miss it by a mile.

Speaker B:

You are going to serve somebody.

Speaker B:

Now, Bob Dylan said it good in the song.

Speaker B:

It might be the devil and it might be the Lord, but you're gonna Serve somebody.

Speaker B:

You're gonna serve somebody the value that Jesus paid for you so that you can be his possession.

Speaker B:

He.

Speaker B:

He owns you.

Speaker B:

Awesome sauce.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I mean, if I'm going to go this direction, I want to be owned by Jesus, please.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And by the way, eager to do good works is because of all these great things the Lord has done for me.

Speaker B:

I want to do these things for the Lord.

Speaker B:

Right?

Speaker B:

Don't you want to do it for the Lord?

Speaker B:

Don't you love the Lord?

Speaker B:

Don't you want to live your life in such a way as to honor and glorify him and bless him and thank him for all the graciousness he's poured out upon you?

Speaker B:

Verse 15.

Speaker B:

Proclaim these things.

Speaker B:

Encourage and rebuke with all authority.

Speaker B:

We ought to be proclaiming these things.

Speaker B:

We are going to be in heaven forever with God.

Speaker B:

Yeah, here we go.

Speaker B:

We're supposed to encourage one another with this.

Speaker B:

Well, what's the rebuking part?

Speaker B:

It's for those that don't understand the level of the payment, the level of the glory, the level of the sharing with God.

Speaker B:

Get in line.

Speaker B:

Let's do it.

Speaker B:

We're going to do this with God forever and okay.

Speaker B:

It can't get better.

Speaker B:

And by the way, then you get that one little line right there at the end.

Speaker B:

Let no one disregard you.

Speaker B:

That's for the people that think you're nuts.

Speaker B:

Good.

Speaker B:

Paul said, good, I'll be a fool.

Speaker B:

I'll be a fool for Christ.

Speaker B:

He said, okay, I'm an idiot, but I'm an idiot for God and I'm God's idiot.

Speaker B:

That's fine.

Speaker B:

Because all I know is my eternity is gonna rock and roll.

Speaker B:

My feet are on the rock and my name is on the roll.

Speaker B:

And that seems pretty good to me.

Speaker B:

Okay, I'll take a breath now.

Speaker B:

All right, folks, take our break.

Speaker B:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker B:

Short break, we'll be back.

Speaker B:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

You may be from a Baptist background, a Pentecostal background, a non denominational background, David Spoon has that too.

Speaker A:

You may be from the Church of Christ Presbyterian Methodist Church of God or some other denomination, but if you're looking for a show that's Bible based, spirit led and a bit nutty, then give David a listen for a while.

Speaker A:

If you like it, great.

Speaker A:

If not, no worries.

Speaker A:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker B:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker B:

I'm just telling you the truth.

Speaker B:

I'm just being honest, right?

Speaker B:

Because I'll pull from.

Speaker B:

I'm Jewish.

Speaker B:

I was trained well, and you pull from multiple directions.

Speaker B:

This was one of those things.

Speaker B:

So I kind of needed to recognize that sometimes I'm obnoxious and I need to make up for it.

Speaker B:

And the whole point of me telling you this is sometimes you will do things that doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong.

Speaker B:

But because you didn't have the right spirit going on when it happened, you need to make up for it.

Speaker B:

Now, by that, I mean this.

Speaker B:

So Noelle found out yesterday that she had to get up at 4:30 this morning because the president of, quote, unquote, the company was coming in because they were doing a remodel.

Speaker B:

And her section was one of the sections there being remodeled.

Speaker B:

So she had to be at work at 6 in order to be there.

Speaker B:

Okay, all right.

Speaker B:

So now I'm already.

Speaker B:

I'm not in the doghouse or anything.

Speaker B:

I just, you know, feeling like I could have done better.

Speaker B:

So you know what I did?

Speaker B:

And I'm telling you this for a reason.

Speaker B:

I got up at 5 in the morning and I sat with her for about a half hour while she was getting ready.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

And I encouraged her because I knew she was really tired.

Speaker B:

And then she went to work and I went back to bed for at least an hour and a half until the dog said, that's enough out of you.

Speaker B:

Get up.

Speaker B:

You know, that was a whole separate thing.

Speaker B:

The reason that I bring it up is not because I did something brilliant.

Speaker B:

That's exactly not the case.

Speaker B:

In fact, the reason that I had to make it up is because I didn't do something brilliant.

Speaker B:

But it dawned on me that it is okay or not okay, but it's probably right.

Speaker B:

For you and I when we're in relationships and we do something that's a little far off or maybe not as authentically Christian as we generally need to be that we're allowed to make up for it.

Speaker B:

And so what I was trying to do was communicate with her.

Speaker B:

I love you.

Speaker B:

I'm kind of sorry.

Speaker B:

Okay, I'm sorry.

Speaker B:

All right?

Speaker B:

I'm totally sorry.

Speaker B:

Because I'm up at 5am That I wasn't, like, nicer about the whole thing.

Speaker B:

And so whatever happened by getting up at five in the morning last night went, bye, bye.

Speaker B:

And my point in making that sharing that with you is simply sometimes we can do things.

Speaker B:

That is a way to say I'm with you without doing a whole bunch.

Speaker B:

And that will just make some of the dumber things less painful or less dumb.

Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.
