02-07-2025 part 2: The Power of Patience: Insights from Scripture

In the conversation, Sergio discusses with Dr. David Spoon his recent reflections on patience and divine timing, focusing on the scriptural narrative of waiting on God’s promises. Sergio feels that his patience is being tested and seeks guidance and reassurance. He relates his current life situations to the biblical story of pruning for growth, indicating that challenges may lead to spiritual development. Dr. Spoon provides encouragement by emphasizing the importance of patience and aligns Sergio’s experiences with broader Christian teachings on enduring trials and waiting on God. They also briefly touch upon a recent NBA trade that has affected Sergio personally, illustrating how life’s events can lead to spiritual questioning and growth. Dr. Spoon uses this dialogue to reinforce the need for perseverance and faithfulness, using the conversation to inspire listeners with practical and spiritual advice.

This episode delves into the profound human inclination towards self-justification, a theme that permeates our existence and is exemplified in the biblical narrative of Job, who sought to vindicate himself rather than God. We explore the psychological responses of fight or flight when confronted with adversity, yet I propose a more fruitful alternative that encourages spiritual growth and resilience. As we navigate the complexities of life, particularly the challenges of patience and waiting on divine timing, we are reminded of the necessity to maintain our focus on Jesus, who exemplified endurance amid trials. The discourse further extends to the significance of community support and shared experiences, as evidenced by our listener interactions. Ultimately, we emphasize the importance of unwavering faith, urging our audience to trust in God's promises, as we collectively strive for a victorious life amidst life's tribulations.

The narrative unfolds as the host engages in a heartfelt dialogue with a listener, delving into personal experiences of spiritual growth and the trials of waiting on the Lord. This exchange highlights the universal struggle of patience and the often tumultuous journey of faith. The host reassures listeners that they are not alone in their frustrations and encourages them to embrace the waiting period as an opportunity for deeper spiritual development. By intertwining personal anecdotes with scriptural references, the episode provides a rich tapestry of encouragement, illustrating that the path to spiritual maturity is fraught with challenges but ultimately leads to profound transformation and renewed hope. The overarching message resonates with the assurance that God's timing is perfect, urging listeners to trust in His plans.

Takeaways:

  • The innate human tendency towards self-justification can often obscure our understanding of divine truth.
  • In moments of adversity, we must recognize that there exist alternatives beyond the simplistic fight or flight response.
  • Life's challenges require us to be patient and trust in God's timing, rather than succumbing to impatience or despair.
  • True strength lies in our ability to endure difficulties, focusing on the joy set before us, as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
  • Despite the frustrations that arise from our circumstances, we are reminded to keep faith in God's greater plan and purpose.
  • Navigating personal trials can lead us to deeper insights about our faith, thereby enriching our spiritual journey.

Speaker A:

And now for something completely different.

Speaker A:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.

Speaker A:

It's fantastic, phenomenal, always fun, usually somewhat fascinating Friday as we head into the weekend not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the seas, because our help comes from the Lord first.

Speaker A:

Here we are on another fantastic Friday, and I'm excited to share with you these different DD ddds which should prove to be a blessing.

Speaker A:

Now, deep inside each and every one of us is a desire to prove ourselves right.

Speaker A:

We don't want to talk about it much, but there is a sense of self justification that exists in humanity.

Speaker A:

Even Job, in his engagement with God, justified himself rather than justifying God.

Speaker A:

We will look at that next.

Speaker A:

What happens when we're up against the wall?

Speaker A:

Well, many of us have a fight or flight attitude, which means we'll either run away or stand our ground.

Speaker A:

But really, fight and flight are not the only two options.

Speaker A:

That's just what psychology says.

Speaker A:

And sometimes psychology says stuff that's dumb.

Speaker A:

Not all the time, but sometimes.

Speaker A:

So I'm going to give you an alternative to what to do when you're backed into a corner.

Speaker A:

And it will not involve fight or flight.

Speaker A:

It's practical advice to live a victorious life.

Speaker A:

And finally, it's important to recognize that after a good night's sleep, we should feel refreshed and recharged and invigorated, right?

Speaker A:

Ready to face the day.

Speaker A:

But the truth is, if you're over 25, you've probably realized that not every morning starts that way.

Speaker A:

Some mornings you get out of bed and struggle just to make it to the coffee pot, contemplating why every step hurts your legs, your back and your neck.

Speaker A:

But guess what?

Speaker A:

There is a great medicine for that, one that gives us the ability to function with plenty of Energy.

Speaker A:

Calling Dr.

Speaker A:

Jesus.

Speaker B:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

Speaker B:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

Speaker B:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.

Speaker B:

The more he studied the Gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

Speaker B:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

Speaker B:

He joined KAAM and and this radio program began.

Speaker B:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

Speaker A:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

Speaker A:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, Personal revelations, spiritual observations.

Speaker A:

My life's insanity's in the way.

Speaker A:

They so much more.

Speaker A:

I mean, a lot more in fact, we just want to remind you that this is not professional radio, okay?

Speaker A:

It's just radio.

Speaker A:

And to verify the David Spoon Experience is not professional radio, we're going to talk to the Woody Woodpecker of professional radio.

Speaker A:

That's right, folks.

Speaker A:

I pulled that out of the 50s.

Speaker A:

The Woody Woodpecker.

Speaker A:

Do you know who Woody Woodpecker is?

Speaker A:

Just too classic.

Speaker A:

Anyway, our very own Jam and Jacob.

Speaker A:

Jam and Jacob is the Woody Woodpecker.

Speaker A:

That's all, folks.

Speaker A:

Is the Woody Woodpecker.

Speaker A:

Is the David Spoon Experience professional radio?

Speaker C:

No, it is not, David.

Speaker A:

That's all, folks.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker C:

Is he the one that goes the ha ha ha or something like that?

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker C:

Okay, so I got it right?

Speaker A:

Yeah, you got it right.

Speaker A:

Good job, man.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

Good job.

Speaker A:

You are way ahead of your years.

Speaker A:

That's really, really good.

Speaker A:

Anyhow, look, you're lucky if it's two cans and a string.

Speaker A:

And sometimes I'm not sure it's that.

Speaker A:

So just be careful there.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Here's the bottom line.

Speaker A:

The bottom line is simply this.

Speaker A:

We want to know how you're doing.

Speaker A:

We do care.

Speaker A:

I mean, that is one of the things.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

And when you call that number, I do want to point out you will be talking to Jammin Jacob.

Speaker A:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like heading into the weekend.

Speaker A:

Hey.

Speaker C:

Thank you, David.

Speaker C:

Happy Friday.

Speaker C:

Happy heading into the weekend.

Speaker A:

Happy heading into the weekend.

Speaker A:

We will do.

Speaker A:

Jake's taking a little bit.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody that is on the line.

Speaker C:

Yes, we have Sergio on the line.

Speaker A:

Sergio is on the line.

Speaker A:

Let's send him on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Is this my brother Sergio?

Speaker D:

David, good afternoon.

Speaker A:

Yes, Sergio, how are you doing, brother?

Speaker A:

Good.

Speaker D:

How are you?

Speaker A:

Wonderful.

Speaker A:

I'm doing wonderful.

Speaker A:

I'm just really blessed.

Speaker A:

I'm going to ask people to really pray for our buddy who just called.

Speaker A:

I mean, that's really, really important to be praying for one another.

Speaker A:

He had such a great couple of questions, Tyler and the things that he was sharing.

Speaker A:

So that was great.

Speaker A:

And I'm just going to keep praying for him.

Speaker A:

I believe God's really going to help him.

Speaker A:

So but how can we bless you, my brother?

Speaker D:

Just, you know, I've been late to the party.

Speaker D:

I just, you know, I've been out and about.

Speaker D:

But, you know, I just really wanted to touch base with you.

Speaker D:

And I did catch the first of the.

Speaker D:

Of the show where you asked, or where the question was, you know, what has God helped you with?

Speaker D:

Or what he's, you know, what's he teaching you?

Speaker A:

What's he teaching you lately?

Speaker D:

Say that again.

Speaker A:

What is he teaching you lately?

Speaker A:

What's he been kind of directing you in?

Speaker A:

Where is he leading you?

Speaker D:

Yeah, yeah, for sure.

Speaker D:

So I'm still in Deuteronomy.

Speaker D:

I don't know if this is part of this or not, but I just feel that my patience has.

Speaker D:

Has been being been tried with, you know, direction and I guess, you know, where.

Speaker D:

You know, where is this going?

Speaker D:

And I think I've been.

Speaker D:

I've been having, you know, by me reading and me meditating, I think I can feel that God has been keeping me at bay.

Speaker D:

That's wrong wording.

Speaker D:

I guess I can say that he's been leading me and basically allowing me to know that it's being taken care of and for me to continue to be patient.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Isn't that hard?

Speaker D:

Yes, it's extremely hard.

Speaker A:

David, wait.

Speaker A:

No, I want you to understand something.

Speaker A:

What you're sharing right now, every person in the audience is going, hey, I relate to this.

Speaker A:

I mean, I'm just telling you right now, every person.

Speaker A:

It's so.

Speaker A:

I mean, people can say what they want.

Speaker A:

It's hard because, you know, the Lord is in charge and he's got it coordinated, but he's not sharing his watch.

Speaker A:

And you're like, yeah.

Speaker D:

And I think when you incorporate stewardship and.

Speaker D:

And you know what's gonna happen with this situation, and you want it to go this way.

Speaker D:

I think that's just part of it, you know, part of the.

Speaker D:

I don't know what the scripture is, but you know how whenever you whittle something or.

Speaker D:

What is it, Whenever you do something to a tree.

Speaker D:

I think that's the pruning thing.

Speaker A:

Right, right.

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker A:

In John 15.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

That's the pruning, where he says.

Speaker A:

Where if you're making fruit, then he cuts you back so you'll produce more fruit.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker D:

So, yeah, I.

Speaker D:

I don't.

Speaker D:

So if you can expound on that, David, and one last thing, and please, I really do need your opinion on this.

Speaker D:

I'd like your opinion on what happened with the.

Speaker D:

With.

Speaker D:

And I know you're not under a rock this.

Speaker D:

This week.

Speaker D:

I know.

Speaker D:

I want to know what your opinion was on that NBA trade that affected especially me, because I've been.

Speaker D:

I've been really a droopy downer all this week.

Speaker D:

But other than that, David, thank you for so much for your help with me on this journey, along with other people that listen to the show.

Speaker D:

Have a great weekend.

Speaker A:

Thank you, brother.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

These are phenomenal questions.

Speaker A:

We always get these great questions.

Speaker A:

I love Sergio's questions.

Speaker A:

In fact, I'm telling you, we gotta write a book for this guy.

Speaker A:

So, first of all, I will address.

Speaker A:

I think he wanted to know about the trade issue first, right?

Speaker A:

Is that correct?

Speaker A:

So I want to just address that real quickly.

Speaker A:

Is that okay to do?

Speaker A:

Is that.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

Go ahead.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

So there was a big trade.

Speaker A:

Do you want to just tell people what you.

Speaker A:

Since you're a little bit more better at this than the sports part of it, there was a big trade.

Speaker A:

Can you tell people what the trade was for the Mavericks and for the Lakers?

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

There was a big trade between those two, right?

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker C:

So Luka Doncic, who played for the.

Speaker C:

He's played for the Mads before the trade for seven years, and he was their best player for seven years, probably.

Speaker C:

I think by the time he had retired, he.

Speaker C:

Probably him and Dirk Nowitzki would have been the two best Mavericks players ever.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker C:

And now he is on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Speaker C:

They.

Speaker C:

They traded him.

Speaker C:

It came out of nowhere.

Speaker C:

There was no rumors of it or anything.

Speaker C:

It came out of nowhere.

Speaker C:

And I'm.

Speaker C:

I'm just.

Speaker C:

Like Sergio said, I was not happy with it and along with every other Mass fan.

Speaker C:

So, yeah, that.

Speaker C:

That's the trade pretty much that happened last weekend.

Speaker A:

All right, so I'm going to make a comment, and I want everybody to be aware that this is not a spiritual comment.

Speaker A:

Can I make that any clearer?

Speaker A:

Is that pretty clear that I'm saying this is not a biblically based observation?

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

And I told this already to Al.

Speaker A:

He already knows what's coming if he's listening.

Speaker A:

Let me just point this out to you, okay?

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Now, part of my understanding is that Mark Cuban is no longer the primary owner, that he only owns 20% of the MAVs because he had to sell a big portion because he lost a bit of money.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

So that's from a financial point of view he can only share.

Speaker A:

He can only give so much input before that whole thing changes.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Let me just say, right?

Speaker C:

He's not majority owner.

Speaker C:

And I believe he doesn't.

Speaker C:

He's not in charge of any basketball.

Speaker A:

No more day to day operations, which is, you know, I guess you backed the wrong candidate and maybe it comes back and doesn't help you.

Speaker A:

Anyway, the bottom line to that process is simply this.

Speaker A:

I defer, though.

Speaker A:

Even though that's the case, I defer to the Babylon Bee.

Speaker A:

And the Babylon Bee had a picture of Mark Cuban and he looked like he had way too much the night before.

Speaker A:

Completely disheveled.

Speaker A:

He looked like he was just going to be completely out of it.

Speaker A:

And their title said that he was quoting, gee, I hope I didn't make any dumb trades last night with this picture of him looking, let's just say, a little bit out of the.

Speaker A:

Out of the thing.

Speaker A:

And I thought of all the comments and all the things that I've read and heard, that's by far the funniest because it's like he's like, I hope I didn't make any stupid trades.

Speaker A:

I don't know what the Mavs were thinking.

Speaker A:

It's making me feel uncomfortable for the Cowboys too.

Speaker A:

It's making me feel uncomfortable for sports in Dallas.

Speaker A:

I'm not sure what's going on.

Speaker A:

I don't know if it's.

Speaker A:

We're going to have to reset everything, but I don't know a lot of people in Dallas that are happy about it.

Speaker A:

Do you know a lot of people that are happy about the trade?

Speaker C:

I haven't heard anyone who's happy about it.

Speaker C:

And we don't have to get too far into it, but it's just very weird because the Mavs general manager now he's been the general manager for a few years and he has, before he was working with the Mavericks, he had ties to the Lakers.

Speaker C:

So it's very weird.

Speaker C:

And you have like all the conspiracy.

Speaker C:

Yeah, well, what's really happening here's the.

Speaker A:

Very weird conspiracy theory is I go with the Babylon B, right?

Speaker A:

Mark Cuban, disheveled, drank too much the night before, going, gee, I hope I didn't make any stupid trades last night.

Speaker A:

I don't remember is to me the.

Speaker A:

That's how I look at this.

Speaker A:

That's where I'm leaving it.

Speaker A:

Listen, folks, never lose your confidence in your team.

Speaker A:

Long term, I understand disappointment.

Speaker A:

I'm an 0 and 16 Lions fan.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

They still had an awesome year.

Speaker A:

Yes, it was a long time later.

Speaker A:

They still had an awesome year.

Speaker A:

And I will tell you that I've been a Red Wings fan for a long time.

Speaker A:

And their first Stanley cup in 40 plus years was as awesome as any sports could ever be.

Speaker A:

ickets to the red wings since:

Speaker A:

1930 something.

Speaker A:

And I went to the Red Wings game in diapers.

Speaker A:

No, I don't remember.

Speaker A:

But my family was very committed.

Speaker A:

So when they finally won a Stanley cup back that, that 89 or 93, 94 or whatever it is, 97.

Speaker A:

I can't remember what year it was.

Speaker A:

It was like magic, right?

Speaker A:

In the sense of it was awesome.

Speaker A:

So don't give up now.

Speaker A:

You using that as a launching pad.

Speaker A:

Ha.

Speaker A:

You didn't think I could put them together, but you would be wrong.

Speaker A:

Sergio brings up an issue that is facing every Christian.

Speaker A:

Just so you can know, Sergio, I've been a Christian.

Speaker A:

It's almost 47 years.

Speaker A:

I still face this trial, and that is being patient and waiting on the Lord when we are not patient and waiting on the Lord as we're going to get into.

Speaker A:

In our Genesis study, you do the things that Sarai and Abram did, that she had him sleep with her handmaiden who she elevated to a sub wife, and they produced Ishmael, which became huge problems for everybody all over the planet.

Speaker A:

When we try to force God's hand into answering what he's doing and going ahead of his timeline, we create Ishmael's, which is a bad idea.

Speaker A:

Here's what the scripture says in Hebrews 3, 6.

Speaker A:

It says this.

Speaker A:

But Christ as a son over his own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

Speaker A:

Now, listen, I'm going to finish on this.

Speaker A:

I want you to listen to what I'm saying.

Speaker A:

We have to hang on.

Speaker A:

And you're sitting there thinking, no, Dave.

Speaker A:

But it gets so hard.

Speaker A:

It sure does.

Speaker A:

And I think anybody who says it doesn't.

Speaker A:

There's something weird about that because I think it does get hard.

Speaker A:

But then again, in Galatians, I'm going to another passage.

Speaker A:

In Galatians when it talks about continuing to do well, it says this, Let us.

Speaker A:

This is Galatians 6, 9.

Speaker A:

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not lose heart.

Speaker A:

And then we're sitting there, we're thinking, okay, okay, hold on.

Speaker A:

But I've been doing this really well.

Speaker A:

And I've been growing and I've been this.

Speaker A:

And it's like, you know, I take three steps forward and two steps back.

Speaker A:

I Gotcha.

Speaker A:

But I want you to understand something.

Speaker A:

3, 3, forward, 2, back is net, 1.

Speaker A:

And if that's the way that the Lord wants to bring it about, then that's the way it's brought about.

Speaker A:

So the patience issue, this is not.

Speaker A:

I want to make sure Sergio knows this.

Speaker A:

This is everybody in the faith.

Speaker A:

Not somebody, everybody in the faith.

Speaker A:

And I've got another passage I'm going to get to in a second.

Speaker A:

But the fact that the Lord continually works on us is the evidence of his faithfulness.

Speaker A:

You think, how can that be?

Speaker A:

Because if God didn't work on you, then you wouldn't be his kid.

Speaker A:

If God didn't continually move into your life and challenge you to reflect Jesus more and more, you wouldn't be His.

Speaker A:

And we're going to talk about that in a second.

Speaker A:

But I want to make sure you understand that frustration and that opportunity where God is trying to coordinate you and have you reflect Jesus for all that you think you've been through.

Speaker A:

Could you imagine for a moment being the Creator of the universe in human form and having people spit in your face and seek to crucify you and yet still maintain while that's going on?

Speaker A:

That's where the scripture ultimately takes us.

Speaker A:

In Hebrews chapter 12, it says this.

Speaker A:

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses.

Speaker A:

And that's all Referring to Hebrews 11, the Great hall of fame of faith.

Speaker A:

He says this.

Speaker A:

Let us lay aside every weight and sin that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set out before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher.

Speaker A:

And for those that like sports, the closer of our faith, who, for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Speaker A:

Verse 3.

Speaker A:

For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, so you don't become wary or discouraged in your souls.

Speaker A:

That's the answer.

Speaker A:

Thinking, what?

Speaker A:

What do you mean that's the answer?

Speaker A:

The answer is always Jesus for the Christian and what Jesus went through and his patience, and that the Pharisees were giving him a hard time and that people were doing all these weird things, saying all these bad things about him and challenging him.

Speaker A:

And he's doing, miracle upon miracle, nothing but good things.

Speaker A:

And people are trying to take him down and take him out.

Speaker A:

And he's the Creator.

Speaker A:

All things were created by him and through him.

Speaker A:

And his own creation was trying to take him out.

Speaker A:

But what he did Was he.

Speaker A:

And this is his illustration to us.

Speaker A:

He focused on what was coming.

Speaker A:

He focused on the joy that was set before him.

Speaker A:

He focused on the glory that was in route if he just stayed the course.

Speaker A:

He's focusing on the very thing that enables him to move forward in the midst of such opposition.

Speaker A:

And Romans 8:18 says, I consider the sufferings of this present time not worthy to be compared with the glory that should be revealed in us.

Speaker A:

It's not even on the same plane.

Speaker A:

The things that God is doing in you and teaching you and requiring of you are all for a glory that so far exceeds the frustration that you can't even put them on the same scale.

Speaker A:

It's like comparing the ocean to a drop of rain.

Speaker A:

That's the difference.

Speaker A:

And the Lord requiring us to endure and to reflect Jesus more and more and to be patient and to keep going and to not quit and to.

Speaker A:

And to hang on.

Speaker A:

And the Scripture tells us time and time and time again.

Speaker A:

And Jesus tells us about persistence and Paul tells us about persistence, and Peter tells us about persistence and James does, and the author of Hebrews and John does, and everybody who's in the book just telling all Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John telling us of persistence.

Speaker A:

And we have to keep persevering even when it's frustrating on the surface.

Speaker A:

And the way to get through it is to use the same wisdom and approach that Jesus left us as an example.

Speaker A:

And that is for the joy that was set before him.

Speaker A:

He endured the cross.

Speaker A:

And what was the solution to all that?

Speaker A:

The solution from the author in Hebrews is simply consider him so that you don't get weary and lose heart.

Speaker A:

You know what the answer is?

Speaker A:

Jesus, he is the answer.

Speaker A:

He is the only answer.

Speaker A:

And yes, we all go through it.

Speaker A:

Don't just look through Scripture, the people, what did Peter do?

Speaker A:

And Jesus goes, hey, throw your nets over in the water.

Speaker A:

What did Peter say?

Speaker A:

You know, we've been fishing all night because you're supposed to fish at night here.

Speaker A:

And we've been fishing all night and we haven't caught anything.

Speaker A:

And I really don't want to do this.

Speaker A:

And gee, I'm not really ecstatic about this.

Speaker A:

You know, I really just think, really, I got to do this.

Speaker A:

And then he goes, okay, well, it hasn't worked.

Speaker A:

But since you say so, right?

Speaker A:

And then he threw the net over and they had such a big catch that it took two boats, 153 fish took two boats to bring them back.

Speaker A:

Every one of us, as a disciple of Jesus Christ says the same Thing Peter said.

Speaker A:

Really?

Speaker A:

Everyone?

Speaker A:

Everyone yet full submission.

Speaker A:

u just think of Jesus in Mark:

Speaker A:

Okay, Abba.

Speaker A:

Dad.

Speaker A:

Ha ha.

Speaker A:

You can do anything.

Speaker A:

Awesome.

Speaker A:

Hey, let this thing pass for me.

Speaker A:

I'm just done with this.

Speaker A:

Let this pass nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done.

Speaker A:

And that full surrender and that focus on Jesus and that way to endure, that's how you don't quit.

Speaker A:

And yes, it's human and it's normal for you to go, ah, but God is working in you such a glory.

Speaker A:

You can't put it on the same scale.

Speaker A:

I'll just use that illustration one more time.

Speaker A:

The ocean versus a drop of water.

Speaker A:

That's the comparison to what you're going through compared to what you will receive.

Speaker A:

That's how you endure, that's how you keep going.

Speaker A:

That's how you don't quit.

Speaker A:

Because God is with you, God is for you and God loves you.

Speaker A:

You're not going to circumvent his timing.

Speaker A:

I do want to say this.

Speaker A:

You're not going to do the deal with God, Lord, if you do this, I'll do this.

Speaker A:

The deal making with God.

Speaker A:

How often have you and I all done that?

Speaker A:

It's a surrender.

Speaker A:

And in the right time, in the perfect time, he will manifest what he wants to manifest.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

So Sergio, the most direct answer to that, because I did take 20 minutes to tell you, is, brother, make sure you're fixed.

Speaker A:

Vision on Jesus is immovable.

Speaker A:

And consider him when you're getting tired and weary and be ready to receive.

Speaker A:

Because the Lord's timing is perfect.

Speaker A:

And when it comes, even though you have to be patient now, when it comes, it will change your life.

Speaker A:

The Bible says hope deferred makes the heart sick.

Speaker A:

But when it comes, it says the tree of life that you catching that?

Speaker A:

That.

Speaker A:

Listen to that passage.

Speaker A:

Wow, even I'm just getting charged by this.

Speaker A:

Listen to that.

Speaker A:

Hope deferred makes the heart sick.

Speaker A:

But when it comes, it's as the tree of life.

Speaker A:

This is why we are required to hang on.

Speaker A:

This is why we are required to persevere.

Speaker A:

Because only God knows when that tree of life is emerging.

Speaker A:

And so what do we do?

Speaker A:

We use passages.

Speaker A:

Same kind of passages.

Speaker A:

Same kind of passage Jeanette said last week, her favorite passage.

Speaker A:

We all know it.

Speaker A:

Proverbs 3, 5, 6.

Speaker A:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

Speaker A:

Lean not on your own understanding.

Speaker A:

In all your ways, acknowledge him.

Speaker A:

He'll direct your paths.

Speaker A:

And I want to say this, and then we'll break because went straight 27 minutes.

Speaker A:

What do you want to do.

Speaker A:

God knows every time you make the right decision to yield, there is not one time that you have exhibited patience that God has not noted.

Speaker A:

There is not one time that you've not existed in your situation and said, I'm going to trust you.

Speaker A:

And that has gone unnoticed.

Speaker A:

The Lord knows every time you make every decision in every element of faith.

Speaker A:

He knows everything about you.

Speaker A:

He's for you, he's with you and he loves you.

Speaker A:

Does that mean you encounter no pain?

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker A:

Doesn't mean that at all.

Speaker A:

But it does mean he will never abandon you, no matter how bad it gets.

Speaker A:

As I was studying today, I was just amazed that Peter was so powerful in the early church that even his shadow passing upon people brought healing.

Speaker A:

Just check it out in Acts 5, 15, 28.

Speaker A:

And remember that prior to that, Peter denied Jesus three times.

Speaker A:

That's how much grace and mercy God has for you.

Speaker A:

Okay, take a deep breath.

Speaker A:

We're going to take our first break here.

Speaker A:

Wow, that's amazing.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break, we'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere, but I want us get this specific scripture and it's really important.

Speaker A:

Romans, chapter 4, verse 18 through 21 says this against all hope.

Speaker A:

Abraham, in hope, believed and so became the father of many nations.

Speaker A:

Just as it was said, so shall your offspring be.

Speaker A:

Without weakening in his face his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead.

Speaker A:

Hey, it was not impossibility.

Speaker A:

God gave him a promise when he was 75.

Speaker A:

It didn't get fulfilled until he was 125 years between promise and fulfillment.

Speaker A:

God made sure he was good and dead before the promise came about.

Speaker A:

So that when Isaac was born, everybody knew.

Speaker A:

It's amazing.

Speaker A:

It's a miracle.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

And it wasn't that Abraham didn't know he was old.

Speaker A:

He faced the fact that his body was as good as dead since he was about 100 years old 99 before the conception took place and that Sarah's womb was also dead.

Speaker A:

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised.

Speaker A:

It doesn't say that Abraham went through this and turned around and yelled at God and complained he gave glory to God.

Speaker A:

He knew God could do this and he believed that the promise that God had given him was important.

Speaker A:

And he held onto that even though Facing the fact the circumstance was completely wiped out, guess what?

Speaker A:

God showed up.

Speaker A:

I'm telling you right now, you can tell me all you want about circumstances and situations and your feelings and your processes, but I am telling you, when God shows up, according to scripture and according to testimony, to the law and to the testimony, the scripture says, to the prophets and to the testimony, here's what you got to be aware of.

Speaker A:

When God shows up changes everything.

Speaker A:

And you're thinking, well, will that happen for Easton Scott?

Speaker A:

I hope so.

Speaker A:

But guess what?

Speaker A:

If my daughter spends her whole life believing and Easton's whole life believing that God can step in and this can change and that may yet happen.

Speaker A:

She's not done a bad thing.

Speaker A:

She's raised a child with this gracious hope.

Speaker A:

If God decides not to do that, instead of complaining about it, it's about giving glory to God, believing that he knows what is in our best interest, even when we don't understand.

Speaker A:

And yes, I get it.

Speaker A:

There are tough things.

Speaker A:

I went through a myriad of tough things, and I'm surprised.

Speaker A:

First of all, I'm surprised that I'm still alive.

Speaker A:

Second of all, I'm surprised that the Lord brought me through any of them.

Speaker A:

I don't deserve it.

Speaker A:

I'm not worthy of it, but he did it anyway.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas, where this has been a unique.

Speaker A:

I would say this is one of the more unique shows.

Speaker A:

I don't know how to even define it anymore.

Speaker A:

I don't even know what to say about it.

Speaker A:

This is one of the more unique, unique shows.

Speaker A:

Is that good?

Speaker A:

It's a more unique, unique kind of.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Eventually you guys do want me to do a terrific question, I'm sure.

Speaker A:

Okay, here you go.

Speaker A:

Let's see if you guys can.

Speaker A:

I wonder if we should do this one.

Speaker A:

That's kind of a tricky one.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Who was the father of the apostles James and John?

Speaker A:

Who was the father of the apostles James and John?

Speaker A:

Okay, just so you can.

Speaker A:

Matthew 4.

Speaker A:

21 is your reference point.

Speaker A:

Who was the father of the apostles James and John?

Speaker A:

Was it Zacchaeus, Zebedee, Zebulon, or Zechariah?

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker A:

Just.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Who was the father of the apostles James and John?

Speaker A:

Was it Zacchaeus, Zebedee, Zebulon, or Zechariah?

Speaker A:

Matthew 4:21, if you think you know.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Additionally, you can send an email, David at He must increase.

Speaker A:

So your question is pretty straightforward.

Speaker A:

Who is the father of the apostles James and John?

Speaker A:

Was it Zacchaeus, Zebedee, Zebulon or Zechariah?

Speaker A:

All Z's.

Speaker A:

That's a good one.

Speaker A:

Gotta like that, right?

Speaker A:

If you think, you know.

Speaker A:

Awesome.

Speaker A:

Now I'm gonna send you to the website and this is a great time for me to get ready to tell you what happened at the board meeting.

Speaker A:

But somebody is calling in.

Speaker A:

We'll take advantage because I think it's a good idea to follow as best we can what the Lord has in mind.

Speaker A:

And what we're going to do is we're going to deal with this trivia question, then I'm going to tell you about the board meeting and then I'll send you up to the website and then we'll come back and see whatever else the Lord has in mind.

Speaker A:

Since I barely know at this point, let me check with Jake.

Speaker A:

Let me see if this person wants to answer a trivia question.

Speaker A:

Do they?

Speaker C:

No.

Speaker C:

It is Rosalind with a praise report.

Speaker A:

Oh, okay.

Speaker A:

All right, well let's send her through because I do want to hear a praise report.

Speaker A:

Go ahead and send her through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

Is this Rosalind?

Speaker E:

Hi, David, it's Roslyn.

Speaker A:

Hi.

Speaker A:

How are ya?

Speaker E:

Better than yesterday.

Speaker E:

I've been, I don't know, somewhere I acquired this cough and I was feeling really congested and icky yesterday and so I'm feeling better today and I hope I just keep getting better.

Speaker E:

So thank you for those prayers.

Speaker A:

Absolutely.

Speaker A:

And so that worked out.

Speaker A:

That worked out good for Angelina.

Speaker A:

If you're feeling better, then it's less opportunity for her to catch anything from you, Right?

Speaker F:

Yes.

Speaker E:

And so I'm so hopeful I get well all the way so I don't make her sick or Robert sick.

Speaker E:

And then, you know, it just goes from one person to another.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

Isn't that fun passing that around?

Speaker A:

I understand that.

Speaker E:

I also wanted.

Speaker F:

Oh.

Speaker E:

To give a praise for just for mom in general because so she's.

Speaker E:

My mom is escaping on Sunday and we're super excited about it.

Speaker E:

I've been kind of like the gentleman that went and got the trailer for his mother in law.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

I don't know if he has an extra trailer that I could borrow.

Speaker E:

But anyway, I've been, I've been working on trying to get a room ready for her this week so that she can stay there.

Speaker E:

But we've been concerned because my sister was supposed to come and help us, and she's not going to be able to come anymore.

Speaker F:

And.

Speaker E:

And Robert was really nervous about it, and I said, you know, it's okay.

Speaker E:

Don't worry.

Speaker E:

God's gonna provide help somehow.

Speaker E:

And, you know, we just gotta keep going.

Speaker E:

And.

Speaker E:

And then today, this morning, I got a call about a potential for some other help that we.

Speaker E:

That we could use to help with my mom.

Speaker E:

So we're just so thrilled about that.

Speaker A:

That is awesome.

Speaker A:

That is awesome, awesome news.

Speaker A:

That's so great.

Speaker A:

First of all, we're very, very thankful that you're feeling better and thankful also that you're having some assistance that the Lord's kind of guiding you guys through and helping you.

Speaker A:

That.

Speaker A:

And I want to pray over you while I got you on the phone and for you and for Robert and for Angelina and the whole situation.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

So let's bring it to the Lord.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now, and, Lord, we are just thanking you and praising you for answers to prayers.

Speaker A:

It's so awesome that you help us.

Speaker A:

We are so unfit.

Speaker A:

We are so unworthy of that graciousness that you give us.

Speaker A:

So we want to thank you that first off, that Rosalind is feeling better, and we just ask you to let that to keep going, that you would keep getting better and keep getting that energy buildup and keep being stronger and stronger, and that you would be her strength, and she would draw on you and she would do just better and all that other stuff that was kind of stressing on her and pushing her body down would be pushed out and pushed away.

Speaker A:

And we ask that you would grant the entire family, Robert, Angelina, and Rosalind, just the wisdom and the insight and how to handle the situation.

Speaker A:

Give them great favor, just like we prayed.

Speaker A:

Lord, allow your graciousness to let this actually be a blessing for the family, something they didn't even anticipate that would turn into a blessing in this whole procedure.

Speaker A:

Because, Lord, you can take everything, and you do take everything and make it work out for good.

Speaker A:

And we're asking you just to be true to your word with this family.

Speaker A:

They believe, we believe.

Speaker A:

We ask you to manifest it in Jesus name.

Speaker A:

Amen and amen.

Speaker E:

Amen.

Speaker E:

Can I throw in one more thing?

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker E:

So it was as miserable as I felt yesterday.

Speaker E:

It turned out, like you just said, for good, that I was home and I couldn't go anywhere because the mailman brought a letter and my mom has Been waiting for her naturalization certificate.

Speaker E:

It got lost.

Speaker E:

And since August, we had to put an application to get a replacement.

Speaker E:

And it finally came yesterday.

Speaker E:

And if I hadn't had my cough, keep me home and away from people, I would have missed the mailman.

Speaker E:

And then, you know, it's not always easy getting to the post office and waiting in the long line there.

Speaker E:

So I told Robert, I said, what a blessing.

Speaker A:

That's so cool, though.

Speaker A:

See, that's.

Speaker A:

That's those bracelets, right?

Speaker A:

If you weren't home, you wouldn't have got it.

Speaker A:

And so, you know, it's like, oh, I got a cough.

Speaker A:

I'm feeling miserable.

Speaker A:

This is not good.

Speaker A:

And the Lord's going, just be patient.

Speaker A:

I'm doing something awesome.

Speaker A:

Excellent, excellent testimonies, Rosalind.

Speaker A:

Just super, super love it.

Speaker A:

Phenomenal job.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Really, really good.

Speaker A:

Okay, keep us posted.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Keep us posted.

Speaker E:

Have a great weekend.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

You, too.

Speaker A:

Bye.

Speaker A:

Thanks.

Speaker E:

Bye.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Classic, right?

Speaker A:

All right, now, where's it going?

Speaker A:

All right, so I'm going to repeat the trivia question.

Speaker A:

Then I'm going to explain the board meeting.

Speaker A:

I think that's going to happen.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Don't ask me.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I'm just hosting this thing.

Speaker A:

I'm not doing anything else.

Speaker A:

Your trivia question.

Speaker A:

Who was the father of the apostles James and John?

Speaker A:

Was it Zacchaeus, Zebedee, Zebulon, or Zechariah?

Speaker A:

Your answer in Matthew 4:21.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

It was an excellent board meeting.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

So for my opinion, you know, some board meetings are okay.

Speaker A:

Some are good.

Speaker A:

Some are really good.

Speaker A:

This one was one of those great ones.

Speaker A:

Great board meeting.

Speaker A:

Worked out really good.

Speaker A:

So part of the issue, and we've talked to you about this before, is the finances.

Speaker A:

And so I hate talking about it, but because I hate talking about it, I don't think the Lord appreciates my spirit in it.

Speaker A:

And so I'm having to change my tactic and my approach.

Speaker A:

And here's what we're just going to start telling people and just going to tell them exactly what's going on.

Speaker A:

If we don't get donations, we can't keep doing the ministry because we depend fully on Donations.

Speaker A:

I can't keep putting the costs on my own credit because there's just not enough left.

Speaker A:

We need people to step up and do the best they can.

Speaker A:

And I think one of the things that came out which was really brilliant is for you to understand this one thing.

Speaker A:

If we don't get donations, this is what the show will sound like.

Speaker A:

That doesn't sound very fun to me.

Speaker A:

It doesn't sound like that would be good at all.

Speaker A:

So my encouragement is for people to step up as best you can.

Speaker A:

And I'm going to start really working on asking for donations without being apologetic.

Speaker A:

So if you want the Lord to be a part of it, then I want you to do it in partnership with God.

Speaker A:

But if you give it, you give it unto the Lord.

Speaker A:

We need that help because this ministry needs that to exist, period.

Speaker A:

So we ask you to help and we thank you for it in advance.

Speaker A:

Check out the website.

Speaker A:

By the way, I will quote this.

Speaker A:

Give generously to the needy and do not let your heart be grieved when you do so.

Speaker A:

And because of this, the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything to which you put your hand.

Speaker A:

What a great promise from God.

Speaker A:

Check it out on hemustincrease.org prayer request.

Speaker A:

Hemostincrease.org praise report.

Speaker A:

Hemosincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org yeah, right.

Speaker A:

Oh, sir, I was getting excited.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

All right, right now we're gonna do Jake's take so we can get the super bowl take in.

Speaker A:

All right, my friend.

Speaker A:

Jake.

Speaker A:

Jake's take.

Speaker A:

What do we got?

Speaker C:

Well, David, we have Super Bowl Sunday on Sunday night between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker C:

I'm going to give my pick real quick.

Speaker C:

I am going to pick the Kansas City Chiefs to win.

Speaker A:

Oh.

Speaker C:

I am pulling for Philadelphia.

Speaker A:

Okay, so you think the Chiefs will win, but you're hoping Philadelphia wins?

Speaker C:

Yes, yes, but I do.

Speaker C:

I do think the Chiefs will win.

Speaker A:

Okay, so.

Speaker A:

And we're thinking different things.

Speaker A:

Like, one, if you're going to root for Kansas City, you should have ribs on Sunday.

Speaker A:

And because, you know, Kansas City ribs.

Speaker A:

And then if you're going to root for Philadelphia, you.

Speaker A:

You can either have a Philly cheesesteak or maybe wings, you know, because they don't, you know, because Philly cheesesteak's more Philly.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So it's Philadelphia.

Speaker A:

So it just Makes sense.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

So we're just telling people to do that.

Speaker A:

I am going to make my pick right now.

Speaker A:

I am going to say first and foremost, and I will not be wrong on this, the team with the most points at the end of the game will win the game.

Speaker A:

That is my first statement.

Speaker C:

Okay, that's a great observation.

Speaker A:

The team with the most points.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

The second observation.

Speaker A:

The team with the least points will lose the game.

Speaker A:

Okay, that's my second observation.

Speaker A:

And I am going to pick Philadelphia to win the super bowl and to put an end to the Kansas City dynasty.

Speaker A:

That's what I'm gonna pick.

Speaker A:

What do you think?

Speaker C:

Wow.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

So we'd have different picks.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

Well, you already won this year, so it doesn't matter.

Speaker C:

Right?

Speaker A:

Real quick.

Speaker C:

I thought it'd be fun, so I, I wrote down a few.

Speaker C:

So of course you have the betting on, on how many points in the game, who's going to win.

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker C:

Who's going to score the first touchdown.

Speaker C:

You have those bets like that for the Super Bowl.

Speaker C:

But I, I, I wrote down some ridiculous ones.

Speaker A:

I want to hear them so bad.

Speaker A:

Tell us, tell us.

Speaker C:

So we have.

Speaker C:

Will a kick hit the goal post?

Speaker C:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Will they kick hit the goal?

Speaker A:

That's a great, great.

Speaker A:

Will a kick hit the goal post?

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

What a great.

Speaker A:

That's such a great one.

Speaker A:

What else?

Speaker C:

We have a coin toss.

Speaker C:

So that's 50.

Speaker A:

50.

Speaker A:

That's 50.

Speaker A:

50, right.

Speaker C:

And then we have.

Speaker C:

Here's one here that's just.

Speaker C:

What, what color will Tom Brady's tie be?

Speaker C:

So Tom Brady is one of the callers for the game.

Speaker C:

What color will his tie be?

Speaker C:

The favorite is blue, I guess, because he played for New England and they have blue.

Speaker C:

Blue in their color.

Speaker C:

What color will the Gatorade be?

Speaker C:

So this is for when they pour the Gatorade on the winning coach.

Speaker C:

What color will the Gatorade be?

Speaker C:

So purple and blue and yellow are the three favorites.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker C:

And then here's a funny one I think people will get a laugh out of.

Speaker C:

How many times will they show Taylor Swift during the game?

Speaker A:

Oh, my goodness.

Speaker A:

These are all things people are betting on, right?

Speaker A:

They're all, like, betting on.

Speaker C:

These are actual prop bets that people bet on, which is just ridiculous.

Speaker A:

You know, there'll be a problem with the game is if, when they do the coin toss and it goes to Philadelphia, then they say two out of three, you know, right then and there, we're going to have a problem.

Speaker C:

Right, Right.

Speaker A:

That's, that's a joke, folks.

Speaker A:

Everybody can just relax.

Speaker A:

That was kind of a joke.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker C:

There are more funny ones, but there's just some.

Speaker A:

That's, that's good.

Speaker A:

But I did like the one you told me earlier about how long the, the national anthem will actually go.

Speaker C:

Yes, I wrote that down, too.

Speaker A:

In the.

Speaker C:

Over.

Speaker C:

Under is two minutes.

Speaker C:

So over two minutes or under two minutes?

Speaker A:

All right, folks, listen.

Speaker A:

In our country, it's a little bit more of a celebration to chill out.

Speaker A:

So just enjoy it as much you can.

Speaker A:

Don't do more than you're supposed to do, but enjoy yourself.

Speaker A:

There's nothing wrong with that.

Speaker A:

Come ye apart and rest a while.

Speaker A:

Jesus said to his disciples, every once in a while you get to take a deep breath.

Speaker A:

Okay, so I'm going to give the answer to trivia question.

Speaker A:

We're going to take a break, come back.

Speaker A:

I got another final teaching, plus a.

Speaker A:

A couple other things I want to direct you at.

Speaker A:

So the answer, by the way, in the trivia question, who was the father of the apostle James and John?

Speaker A:

Was it Zacchaeus, Zebedee, Zebulun, or Zechariah?

Speaker A:

And your answer is.

Speaker A:

Zebedee, Zebe.

Speaker A:

Zebe Zebedee was the father.

Speaker A:

We will take our break and then come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break.

Speaker A:

We'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker G:

Hey there.

Speaker G:

It's amazing Jennifer.

Speaker G:

And I am helping out the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker G:

As you may know, I basically run the KAAM radio station.

Speaker A:

Amazing.

Speaker G:

And Dr.

Speaker G:

Dave is looking for a few good people to join and become representatives, ambassadors and stewards of this here radio ministry.

Speaker G:

Now, you may be thinking, well, I'd love to get involved with, but I'm not very qualified for ministerial positions.

Speaker G:

Well, the truth is that because you are a child of our heavenly Father, that you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and you seek to live by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Speaker G:

You have all you need to be a part of this ministry.

Speaker G:

But Jennifer, don't I need to be perfect?

Speaker G:

No, just go to hemustincrease or that's hemustincreased.org click on the three lines at the top right of the website and then click on the Ambassador's initiative link.

Speaker G:

Just fill out the form and we will reach out to you.

Speaker G:

But sorry, no parking tickets will be paid for you as an ambassador through this position.

Speaker G:

You are on your own with that.

Speaker A:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Speaker A:

Hey, jingity jing, it's Dominic, the Donkey.

Speaker A:

Jingity jing, the Italian Christmas donkey.

Speaker A:

Oh, that is.

Speaker A:

You asked for zany, my friend.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Smoon Experience.

Speaker A:

So we being not completely unlike, you know, Christmas Vacation in Chevy Chase and so on and so forth, we got a really big tree, slapped it up on the car.

Speaker A:

Of course, it scratched the car to no end.

Speaker A:

Remember, I'm Jewish and I'm trying to follow the Christmas holiday.

Speaker A:

It's got nothing to do with my Christianity.

Speaker A:

I like Christmas.

Speaker A:

I like the season, and so on and so forth.

Speaker A:

I have no problem celebrating any specific time, picking a time.

Speaker A:

And we're as close as we can be celebrating the birth of Christ.

Speaker A:

It's awesome.

Speaker A:

It's a great time of year.

Speaker A:

But you're talking about me fighting a tree, and I'm fighting the tree, and I'm fighting the tree and I hack off a few branches and unfortunately, what I hacked off with the.

Speaker A:

With the axe wasn't enough because I was right there again holding the Christmas tree with my feet on the door, trying to pull it in.

Speaker A:

Hey, you know what?

Speaker A:

The Christmas tree was not coming in.

Speaker A:

So you know what I did?

Speaker A:

I hacked off a few more pieces, but then instead of just trying to pull the tree in, I hacked off a few more pieces.

Speaker A:

By this point, I have decided that Christmas is a pagan holiday that only people who are supporting Christmas presents have created.

Speaker A:

And Jewish people who believe in Jesus should not be celebrating Christmas.

Speaker A:

And I'm crashing the.

Speaker A:

And I've got to act up and I'm crushing it.

Speaker A:

And I'm going to get this tree in.

Speaker A:

And you would not believe it, but after doing that for 15 minutes, I still could not get the tree in the house.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Amen 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Here's your last trivia question.

Speaker A:

And yes, we need to be fast.

Speaker A:

When God evaluated his creation after six days, he said it was what?

Speaker A:

Genesis chapter one, verse 31.

Speaker A:

When God evaluated his creation after six days, he said it was what?

Speaker A:

Genesis 1:31.

Speaker A:

If you think you know the answer.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Additionally, you can send an email david@hemustincrease.org to DNA.

Speaker A:

We go.

Speaker A:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

So I just think I can make this really clear.

Speaker A:

Daily.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Every day that ends in Y.

Speaker A:

Now, what I do is I do Monday through Saturday in my private devotions and then church on Sunday, fellowship on Sunday is another part of that.

Speaker A:

So that's how I do it, Right?

Speaker A:

So I spend time in that fellowship zone there, but in the other way there.

Speaker A:

So I'm just telling you how I go about it.

Speaker A:

There's no legalistic way to do it, no perfect way to do it.

Speaker A:

Just draw closer to the Lord.

Speaker A:

The scripture's clear in James 4.

Speaker A:

8.

Speaker A:

Draw closer to God and he will draw closer to you.

Speaker A:

You know what he's saying there in that passage in James 4.

Speaker A:

8?

Speaker A:

Step towards me and I will step towards you.

Speaker A:

You want more of God?

Speaker A:

He just told you how to do it.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

Never, never, never be ashamed of what Jesus had to say, ever.

Speaker A:

How could you be ashamed of the Creator of the world?

Speaker A:

I could easily be ashamed of the creation that perverts, but not the Creator or anything he has to say.

Speaker A:

N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words or the DNA.

Speaker A:

And then a Always be ready.

Speaker C:

To serve.

Speaker A:

Always ready to serve.

Speaker A:

Just ready.

Speaker A:

Even if you're going to bed and you're putting your head down for the night, just still say, here I am, Lord.

Speaker A:

But what if he has to wake up in an hour?

Speaker A:

You always want to be ready to serve your master.

Speaker A:

Always ready to honor God, to be a vehicle of whatever he desires.

Speaker A:

Ever mindful of your king.

Speaker A:

Ooh, that's a good way to say it.

Speaker A:

Ever mindful of your king.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A Always be ready to serve our DNA.

Speaker A:

Somebody is on the line to answer the trivia question.

Speaker A:

Let's go ahead and send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker F:

Hi, Dr.

Speaker F:

David.

Speaker F:

This is Joy Ann.

Speaker F:

To answer the trivia.

Speaker A:

Hi, Joy Ann.

Speaker A:

How are you?

Speaker F:

I am so blessed.

Speaker F:

Thank you.

Speaker F:

I'm loving the show.

Speaker F:

Everything's been wonderful.

Speaker A:

Awesome.

Speaker A:

That's awesome.

Speaker A:

Is Cordelia there with you?

Speaker F:

No, she's taking care of my little sister in another locale.

Speaker F:

But we're going to see him later.

Speaker A:

Oh, okay.

Speaker A:

Well, tell them we said hi.

Speaker A:

All right, here we go.

Speaker A:

When God evaluated his creation after six days according to Genesis 1:31, he said it was what?

Speaker E:

It was good.

Speaker A:

It was good.

Speaker A:

It doesn't seem like it's hard to understand that God does something and he goes, hey, that's good, right?

Speaker A:

I mean, it's just like, you know what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

When people do things, you look at it and you go, eh, not so good.

Speaker A:

But when God did it, it's like, wow.

Speaker A:

And in seven days.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

So seven days or six days?

Speaker A:

I mean, so in six days he gets it all done.

Speaker A:

So just imagine then what it's going to look like because Jesus has been away for 2,000 years, what he's preparing for us then.

Speaker F:

Get this real quick.

Speaker F:

I was just thinking, I wanted to give you a verse.

Speaker F:

I wanted to, like, supplement what you said.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker F:

So I just picked up this book by my pastor, Dr.

Speaker F:

Robert Jeffress, the Divine Defense.

Speaker F:

And I opened up to this and it says, God created man in his own image.

Speaker F:

In the image of God, he created him.

Speaker F:

Male and female.

Speaker F:

He created them.

Speaker F:

Dot, dot, dot.

Speaker F:

You know, the ellipsis.

Speaker F:

God saw all that he had made, and behold, it was very good.

Speaker F:

Genesis 1, 26, 27 and 31.

Speaker F:

God had me open to that very passage for the trivia even before I, you know, I knew the answer.

Speaker A:

So you opened it up and went right to it.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker F:

Just right to it.

Speaker F:

And it's a big book.

Speaker F:

And I thought, lord, just I'm going to open to something.

Speaker F:

Is there anything you want me to add to what David has asked us?

Speaker F:

But it actually pinpoints.

Speaker F:

So that's the Holy Spirit at work.

Speaker A:

Don't you love that, though?

Speaker A:

I mean, that's one of the things that happens sometimes when you're in the Word.

Speaker A:

Like the Lord will remind me.

Speaker A:

So I'm reading a passage and I'm underlining and highlighting, and you guys, I don't want to show you what my Bibles look like, but let's just say coloring books is a nice way to say it.

Speaker A:

And sometimes the Lord will remind me of something and I turn to it, and it opens right to it, and your eyes fall right on it.

Speaker A:

And you're like going, thank you so much.

Speaker A:

It's like, speedy, speedy, speedy.

Speaker A:

I love stuff like that.

Speaker A:

Just phenomenal information.

Speaker F:

Yes.

Speaker F:

And Dr.

Speaker F:

Spoon, you're like our teacher and our counselor.

Speaker F:

No, you're not our church.

Speaker F:

We don't do, you know, communion, etc.

Speaker F:

But the workman is worthy of his hire.

Speaker F:

And I just want to encourage the audience to do anything and everything to do to keep you on the air because we love you dearly.

Speaker A:

I greatly, greatly appreciate that, Aunt Deb.

Speaker A:

So that's super, super sweet.

Speaker F:

Happy weekend, everybody.

Speaker F:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker F:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

Bye bye, bye bye.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

That's phenomenal, right?

Speaker A:

How is that not phenomenal?

Speaker A:

All right, I'll close out with this Script you can't believe we only got two minutes left.

Speaker A:

This is incredible what happened.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I just want to say this.

Speaker A:

This is something everybody should know.

Speaker A:

It's not something new, but it's something good to take into your mind and heart of all the things that we've been talking about.

Speaker A:

Don't forget to pray for Tyler.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

As well as your brother Sergio, who's going through that growth spurt.

Speaker A:

Don't you love it when he says the patience thing?

Speaker A:

Every person in the audience went, oh, yeah, oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Pray for Tyler.

Speaker A:

Ask the Lord to help him.

Speaker A:

Tyler, directly to your answer Financials is what we're asking people to pray for.

Speaker A:

Here's the last thing I want to close this weekend out with.

Speaker A:

This is Mark 5:36.

Speaker A:

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said to the ruler of the synagogue, do not be afraid, only believe.

Speaker A:

This is a great way for us to enter into this weekend.

Speaker A:

My brothers and my sisters, my family, those that are not yet my brothers or sisters.

Speaker A:

Listen, you don't have to be afraid.

Speaker A:

You don't have to let fear overwhelm you.

Speaker A:

You don't have to let it consume you.

Speaker A:

You don't have to let it gnaw at your mind.

Speaker A:

Instead.

Speaker A:

Instead, Jesus makes this declaration, do not be afraid.

Speaker A:

Which means that you have a choice.

Speaker A:

Do not be afraid.

Speaker A:

Only believe.

Speaker A:

Only believe.

Speaker A:

Instead of fear, operate with faith.

Speaker A:

For faith is greater than fear.

Speaker A:

And without faith, it's impossible to please God.

Speaker A:

Get it?

Speaker A:

All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAAM 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

72 and a half hour break.

Speaker A:

Then we'll come back to more insanity with Spoonanity.

Speaker A:

Have a wonderful weekend.

Speaker B:

Who knows what a broken heart will man?

Speaker B:

Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.
