02-07-2025 part 1: Healing Through Faith: Strategies for Trusting God Again

Dr. David Spoon addresses the profound inquiries posed by Tyler, centering on the complexities of trust in God amidst personal wounds and past experiences of betrayal. The discussion navigates the dichotomy of God's nature—whether it is strictly black and white or encompasses gray areas—highlighting the importance of recognizing the freedom within faith. Furthermore, Dr. Spoon provides insight into the relationship between trust and faith, elucidating their interconnections while emphasizing that a lack of trust does not jeopardize one's eternal salvation. He encourages listeners to seek healing through deeper engagement with God's Word and fostering genuine fellowship within the Christian community. Ultimately, this episode serves as a reminder of God's unwavering commitment to those who seek Him, even in their most vulnerable moments.

The segment of the podcast featuring Dr. David Spoon offers a rich exploration of faith, trust, and the complexities of spiritual growth as experienced by Tyler, a caller who expresses his hesitancy in fully trusting God due to past traumas. This candid discussion provides an avenue for listeners to reflect on their own faith journeys, as Dr. Spoon addresses the delicate balance between the stark truths of scripture and the grace-filled nuances of personal experience. The conversation underscores that while God’s directives may appear black and white, the human experience often introduces shades of gray that necessitate a compassionate understanding of one’s spiritual walk. Furthermore, the episode highlights the interplay between trust and faith, asserting that although they are interconnected, they represent different dimensions of a believer's relationship with the divine. Dr. Spoon encourages listeners to seek healing through a combination of personal devotion and community support, ultimately reinforcing that growth in faith is a dynamic and communal process, characterized by continual reflection and reliance on God’s promises. This episode serves as a reminder that the quest for deeper trust in God is a shared journey, one that is marked by both struggles and triumphs.

Takeaways:

  • In addressing the complexities of faith, we must recognize that our trust in God can often be hindered by past experiences and emotional wounds, which must be acknowledged and processed.
  • Understanding that God's nature encompasses both absolutes and freedoms is essential for navigating our faith journey, particularly in discerning right from wrong.
  • Developing a deeper relationship with God through prayer and scripture is paramount for healing spiritual wounds and fostering trust, as these practices bring renewal to the soul.
  • Fellowship with genuine believers plays a critical role in the healing process, as it provides support and encouragement in our spiritual walk.
  • The distinction between faith and trust is vital; faith often requires stepping out boldly, whereas trust involves resting in God's security and provision.
  • Eternal rewards are not contingent upon our earthly performance but are instead rooted in our relationship with God, emphasizing the importance of intimacy with Him over mere works.

What am I?

Speaker A:

Huh?

Speaker A:

Chop liver.

Speaker A:

Is that what I am?

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Living this life, not always easy running in.

Speaker A:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.

Speaker A:

My name is Dr.

Speaker A:

I can really stretch that out a long time, Dr.

Speaker A:

David Spoon, and I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.

Speaker A:

Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.

Speaker A:

Here is the key to the show.

Speaker A:

We don't know what we're doing.

Speaker A:

We have no idea what's gonna happen, and we don't care.

Speaker A:

But for the next few minutes, I want to talk Jesus with you.

Speaker A:

So here we go.

Speaker A:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

Speaker A:

That thing right there.

Speaker A:

Super good question coming up right now.

Speaker A:

Get ready, get your hands on the buzzers.

Speaker A:

Oh, wait, we don't have buzzers, do we?

Speaker A:

Okay, well, get yourself ready, get prepared.

Speaker A:

Here's your question.

Speaker A:

What has God been teaching you lately?

Speaker A:

What has God been teaching you lately?

Speaker A:

What have you been learning from the Lord lately?

Speaker A:

What path is he taking you down?

Speaker A:

Of recent.

Speaker A:

What has God been teaching you lately?

Speaker A:

That is our question.

Speaker A:

If you have an answer, if you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or your own question, please don't let it die of loneliness.

Speaker A:

Just reach out and give us a call.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Talking to Jammin Jacob is like a peaceful day and evening.

Speaker A:

Day and evening with no drama.

Speaker A:

Oh, yes.

Speaker B:

Thank you, David.

Speaker B:

Happy Friday.

Speaker A:

Happy Friday to you, my friend.

Speaker A:

As you know, we will do Jake's take in the second segment or the other 60 minutes of the show.

Speaker A:

Got a lot of things we do want to cover.

Speaker A:

How is it going so far today?

Speaker B:

Today going good.

Speaker B:

I.

Speaker B:

I worked a little bit more on the recordings for the book, so got that a little bit closer to being done.

Speaker B:

So yeah, so far a good Friday.

Speaker B:

How's your Friday going?

Speaker A:

It was.

Speaker A:

It's very.

Speaker A:

Been very good, very wonderful time in the Word of go, which is always that just I don't care what.

Speaker A:

Once I spend time in the Word and the Lord says anything to me, I'm like, yay, I'm done.

Speaker A:

Rest of the day, I don't care what happens.

Speaker A:

Anyhow.

Speaker A:

Although the drive in was a little bit challenging, I will confess it a little more back to the old, you know, people singing in and out kind of thing, but it's so much better than where we used to be that it's not right for me to complain about it.

Speaker A:

I will say that because it's like it's 35 minutes.

Speaker A:

I'm home.

Speaker A:

Like, yes, praise the Lord.

Speaker B:

I remember there were some days where you couldn't make it.

Speaker B:

That's how much traffic there was.

Speaker A:

It was so bad.

Speaker A:

And so I'm just really thankful for the grace that God's given us in that.

Speaker A:

By the way, are you working this weekend?

Speaker B:

No, I am off this weekend.

Speaker A:

Oh, so the super bowl all for you, huh?

Speaker A:

You don't have to worry about anything.

Speaker A:

Wowza.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

I can just relax and eat some pizza Sunday night and enjoy the game.

Speaker A:

Well, we're going to get into that in the other segments as we get into.

Speaker A:

But I do want people to know you can reach out and call us.

Speaker A:

It will not affect you as far as we know, although we hope it helps you draw closer to the Lord spiritually.

Speaker A:

We hope that's part of it.

Speaker A:

Additionally to calling us, you can text.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

And still people saying, you say it too fast, Dave.

Speaker A:

So I will say it a little slower.

Speaker A:

2.

Speaker A:

I'm kidding.

Speaker A:

I'm not going that slow.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

That's for the text.

Speaker A:

Additionally, you can email us during the show.

Speaker A:

David@HemustIncrease.org D A V I D is how you spell David at hemustincrease from John 3:30 he must increase imustdecrease.org because we're a non profit, corporate.

Speaker A:

So you can call us, you can text us, you can email us.

Speaker A:

Why we always ask this?

Speaker A:

Because people are like, you know, listen to your show, it's almost been on for six years.

Speaker A:

You always say the same thing.

Speaker A:

Uh huh.

Speaker A:

But somebody else who's just tuned in the other day maybe hasn't listened to it.

Speaker A:

And so we tell people, here's the reason why you can call, text or email, because maybe you've got a praise report and you have something you wanna share that the Lord's blessed you in, that will reinforce it in your own life, that will bless other brothers and sisters who hear it.

Speaker A:

They don't have to have the same background as you don't have the same denomination.

Speaker A:

We are brothers and sisters in Christ.

Speaker A:

It is a blessing to the family.

Speaker A:

Additionally, though, and most Importantly from Isaiah 43:7, it will bring glory to the Lord, which is part of the purpose of our creation.

Speaker A:

So when you share that, it does a lot.

Speaker A:

And prayer requests as Jesus taught us, that we should be praying, we pray for one another, we carry one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Speaker A:

You got something going on, you're not sure how to cover it, let's ask God.

Speaker A:

I mean, it's just the greatest prayer ever.

Speaker A:

No matter what anybody says, is Jesus, help.

Speaker A:

That's such a good prayer.

Speaker A:

And so keep it in that realm.

Speaker A:

If you've got something going on, we'll pray for you.

Speaker A:

We're trying to be a blessing as much as we can.

Speaker A:

If you've got something you wanna share, something you came across, it's like, wow, it just really spoke to me, it really just ministered to me.

Speaker A:

We wanna be open for that as well.

Speaker A:

I do want you to be aware that in these things we're also going to do Bible trivia.

Speaker A:

That's not going to be until a little later on, depending on how the teaching goes.

Speaker A:

And I am going to share with you what took place in the board meeting, but I am not going to share it yet.

Speaker A:

I'm praying as to the right time and I will just do my best to follow the Lord as best as I can.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, we will dive into the Word of God.

Speaker A:

And for those that do not know, we are in second Peter, we are in chapter one and we are at verse five.

Speaker A:

And this is what the apostle writes.

Speaker A:

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith, virtue and to virtue, knowledge and to Knowledge, self control.

Speaker A:

And to self control, Perseverance.

Speaker A:

And to perseverance, godliness.

Speaker A:

So as we're going back here in two, Peter picking up at verse five, a critical teaching is coming our way.

Speaker A:

Peter says we need to make every effort, like you gotta put into it, right?

Speaker A:

You gotta get into it.

Speaker A:

You gotta be a part of it.

Speaker A:

You gotta be into it.

Speaker A:

And so we just heard the other day about Paul when he was talking to Titus, that he needed to keep things, things on track.

Speaker A:

That's the same thing that Peter is telling you and me through the Holy Spirit, that as we are operating in faith, there are some things that needed to be added to our faith.

Speaker A:

These things are not for salvation.

Speaker A:

They are for reflection.

Speaker A:

I just can't say it any clearer.

Speaker A:

People are like, we got to do all this other stuff to get saved.

Speaker A:

Nope.

Speaker A:

But to reflect Jesus more and more, we need to be involved in these things as well.

Speaker A:

We need to have faith.

Speaker A:

Because you're not getting into the program without the faith right.

Speaker A:

Given to us through the opportunities we would deem as grace and mercy.

Speaker A:

We access by faith.

Speaker A:

But along with faith has to come a sense of virtue.

Speaker A:

I don't think it's overly complex to think.

Speaker A:

If you see something, if you hear something, if you are aware of something or encounter something, and it's not virtuous, it's not that difficult to go, that ain't good.

Speaker A:

It's not that complex.

Speaker A:

Try to make it.

Speaker A:

Virtue is this, you know what if it ain't Christlike, that ain't got the virtue in it.

Speaker A:

That's not a good thing.

Speaker A:

Along with that virtue needs to come knowledge.

Speaker A:

What kind of knowledge?

Speaker A:

Well, certainly it's the knowledge of God.

Speaker A:

Certainly it's the knowledge of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Speaker A:

But it's also the knowledge of how one another is doing and how we connect to one another and what's taking place with one another.

Speaker A:

In addition to that knowledge of knowing one another.

Speaker A:

And by the way the Scripture says, by this we know we've passed from death to life because we love the brethren.

Speaker A:

If you're a person that.

Speaker A:

You know what, I don't really love the people the way that I think I should.

Speaker A:

There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that and bringing that to God and saying, I think I need to have a better love for your people.

Speaker A:

That's a great prayer.

Speaker A:

You think God's going to say no?

Speaker A:

Ask him to do that.

Speaker A:

He will help you.

Speaker A:

He will mature all of us in that growing process.

Speaker A:

I didn't start off having a love for the people of God.

Speaker A:

I think the Lord is just working it in me piece by piece.

Speaker A:

So with virtue and with that knowledge, here's this one that nobody likes is self control.

Speaker A:

It's so close, by the way.

Speaker A:

It's connected so close to the fruits of the Spirit.

Speaker A:

So you can just look at it and go, wow, that is kind of tight.

Speaker A:

But the thing in this is self control is the one that people often tell me is the one they have the hardest time with.

Speaker A:

And you know what areas of self control?

Speaker A:

People tell me they have the hardest areas with speech and thought.

Speaker A:

Speech, because sometimes we speak and can't put it back in our mouths fast enough.

Speaker A:

And thought, because we don't shut down and bring every captive thought to the obedience of Christ and Satan then starts to have a.

Speaker A:

A dance fest in our mind.

Speaker A:

So we need to work on that, right?

Speaker A:

So with that faith comes virtue, being Christlike, knowledge, understanding of the Lord and of his people and of his truths.

Speaker A:

Self control.

Speaker A:

Get a handle on that.

Speaker A:

And perseverance, which means what?

Speaker A:

You can't give up.

Speaker A:

That's what it means.

Speaker A:

It means you cannot give up.

Speaker A:

You cannot yield, you cannot quit.

Speaker A:

Quitting is not in the program for Christians.

Speaker A:

Not allowed.

Speaker A:

You're thinking, wow, I gotta keep going.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

After you've done everything that the Lord requires you to do, you still hang on and wait.

Speaker A:

And you're thinking, I know, but I've been waiting and waiting and waiting.

Speaker A:

A day with the Lord is a thousand years, and a thousand years is a day.

Speaker A:

So you know what?

Speaker A:

You'll wait as long as he needs you to wait for.

Speaker A:

Because his timing is perfect and ours is rushed.

Speaker A:

We rush to it.

Speaker A:

It's like, that's not good.

Speaker A:

So we need perseverance.

Speaker A:

And along with perseverance is godliness.

Speaker A:

Do I need to tell you?

Speaker A:

I don't really think I do.

Speaker A:

I think the Holy Spirit working in you, your time in the Word of God, your time at church, your time at fellowship, your time connecting in the kingdom of God.

Speaker A:

Elements can pretty much lay out the line.

Speaker A:

This is godly.

Speaker A:

This is not godly.

Speaker A:

What's not godly?

Speaker A:

Oh, I don't know.

Speaker A:

How about teaching other nations to do perverse sexual things?

Speaker A:

Because we're what, godly?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

We're paying money for that?

Speaker A:

No, that's godlessness.

Speaker A:

And we need to have godliness, not godlessness.

Speaker A:

Get it?

Speaker A:

Okay, here's the simplicity in this, is that we need to keep on adding.

Speaker A:

If you think you've reached that point, where you are 100% done.

Speaker A:

I will just encourage you and remind you you're not done until you're 100% like Jesus.

Speaker A:

So if somebody looks at Jesus and looks at you, is there a difference?

Speaker A:

You're going to say, of course there's a difference.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

You're not doing this for salvation.

Speaker A:

You're doing this for reflection.

Speaker A:

You'll be done when you represent and reflect Jesus 100 fold.

Speaker A:

Wow, that's a big target.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

That's why it's called sanctification.

Speaker A:

It is a big target and we're gonna keep on doing it.

Speaker A:

And until that time comes, you are God's billboard.

Speaker A:

How about that?

Speaker A:

You're driving down the freeway, driving around the road and see a billboard lit up.

Speaker A:

That's you in the world for the kingdom of God.

Speaker A:

You're the billboard.

Speaker A:

Cool.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody on the line, so I'm not sure what it is for.

Speaker A:

So we're gonna have them come on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker C:

Hey David, this is Tyler.

Speaker C:

How you doing, sir?

Speaker A:

I'm doing fine.

Speaker A:

How are you doing?

Speaker C:

I'm doing well.

Speaker C:

Calling it with a few questions.

Speaker C:

Calling about some wounds and trust issues with God in particular.

Speaker C:

So I'll just start off the right from the get go.

Speaker C:

I'm a naive person.

Speaker C:

Like I got like a gentle, pure soul where I take people at face value.

Speaker C:

And in my past, like I was bullied pretty heavily and people took advantage of that.

Speaker C:

So I'm.

Speaker C:

I have wounds right now that I'm processing through therapy.

Speaker C:

And there's just certain areas with God in particular that I am afraid to trust him in.

Speaker C:

I know I'm scared of right.

Speaker C:

And that I try to get knowledge, like information about these things to protect myself before like leaning on him or under, like not trust my owners thing, but his, you know, and it keeps other people away from me, including him.

Speaker C:

So is God black and white or does he have gray areas?

Speaker C:

What are those exactly?

Speaker C:

Second question.

Speaker C:

Any recommendations to help heal wounds and to trust him more?

Speaker C:

And then third, does my lack of trust in certain areas with God affect my eternal salvation?

Speaker C:

Does trust equate to faith?

Speaker C:

Are they different?

Speaker A:

Good, they're all great questions.

Speaker A:

So this is God black and white.

Speaker A:

I want to rename them so I can just summarize them and answer them for you.

Speaker A:

So is God black and white?

Speaker A:

Right, I got that last one.

Speaker A:

Does your lack of faith affect your eternity?

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

I mean, lack of faith covenanted.

Speaker A:

What was the second question?

Speaker A:

Heal wounds, say that again.

Speaker C:

Any recommendations to heal wounds and heal wounds.

Speaker A:

Got it.

Speaker A:

All right, awesome.

Speaker A:

Okay, first of all, excellent questions.

Speaker A:

So let me just say that right now.

Speaker A:

And let me say this right now.

Speaker A:

So before you, you are welcome to hang on.

Speaker A:

And I kind of wish you would.

Speaker A:

And I'll tell you why right off the bat, you wouldn't ask these questions if you weren't saved.

Speaker A:

That's just the reality check.

Speaker A:

I mean, I understand people go through all these different.

Speaker A:

I get it.

Speaker A:

But Christians are the ones that ask these questions, not non Christians.

Speaker A:

A non Christian doesn't ask this.

Speaker A:

They don't care.

Speaker A:

But see, you care even though you don't have it all the way that you want it, even though everything's not where you want it to be, right?

Speaker A:

It's like, and you've got some wounding and you need some healing and you've got some issues in a lack of faith.

Speaker A:

And it's like, okay, I need some help in that.

Speaker A:

Got it.

Speaker A:

But if you were not his, you wouldn't even make the phone call.

Speaker A:

That's the truth.

Speaker A:

And people don't want.

Speaker A:

That's just like, well, that's kind of a stark reality.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

So when you say, is God black?

Speaker A:

Is God black and white?

Speaker A:

And I will say it as best I can, so theologically, I'm going to try and be careful because people are going to go, yes, he's black and white.

Speaker A:

There is some freedom in the Lord.

Speaker A:

So when they say he's black and white, it does depend on the issue.

Speaker A:

In fact, in Corinthians it says, judge for yourselves.

Speaker A:

In other words, there is a capacity in certain realms where there's, well, this might be okay.

Speaker A:

And this might be okay.

Speaker A:

For one Christian, having a glass of wine is fine.

Speaker A:

For another Christian, it's not fine.

Speaker A:

Those are not the same rules.

Speaker A:

But they are to the person.

Speaker A:

So you could say, in that realm, there's a little more freedom.

Speaker A:

Does a person have to pay tithes in order to be blessed by God?

Speaker A:

Some people say they do, some people say they don't.

Speaker A:

God's not casting off either person.

Speaker A:

So there's not a direct black and white.

Speaker A:

But is the word of God the word of God?

Speaker A:

The dude created the universe.

Speaker A:

He can write a book.

Speaker A:

So there goes in the.

Speaker A:

Well, it depends on the issue.

Speaker A:

If it's regarding his Word, sure, it's black and white, but in the word of God, you see freedoms and there are opportunities.

Speaker A:

Some people will not celebrate the Sabbath.

Speaker A:

Some people will.

Speaker A:

We just talked about yesterday the freedom.

Speaker A:

Don't judge one way or another, whether they're celebrating the Sabbath.

Speaker A:

So in that sense, the areas that the scripture gives us for freedom have that ability for you to choose.

Speaker A:

God doesn't often tell you what color car to buy, though he may direct you to a specific car.

Speaker A:

In other words, there's things in your life that you do get to choose.

Speaker A:

So number one, is that kind of helpful to give you a little bit of space in that to understand that there's.

Speaker C:

Yes, sir, it is.

Speaker A:

Okay, now here's.

Speaker A:

And then I want to go to the third thing and then come back to the second thing.

Speaker A:

The third thing is, does your lack of faith affect your eternity?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Even the disciples said, help increase our faith.

Speaker A:

Even they had that same thing.

Speaker A:

In fact, when I read in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the reason that it gives me comfort is some of the dumb things they say make me feel like, good.

Speaker A:

I said that.

Speaker A:

You know what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

I feel like it makes me feel like.

Speaker A:

It makes me feel assured.

Speaker A:

That's like, even after he resurrected, the scripture says in the end of Matthew, some doubted.

Speaker A:

It's like he's standing there resurrected.

Speaker A:

It's like you're doubting.

Speaker A:

So the process of getting more and more firm in your faith is part of the journey.

Speaker A:

So let me.

Speaker A:

I'm going to.

Speaker C:

Can I pause you really quick?

Speaker C:

I apologize.

Speaker A:

Yeah, sure.

Speaker C:

Part of that question was, does trust equate to faith?

Speaker A:

Say that again.

Speaker C:

Trust, faith.

Speaker A:

Trusting faith.

Speaker C:

You mean is trust faith.

Speaker A:

Oh, is trust faith.

Speaker A:

Ah, I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

Okay, so here's part of that yes and no.

Speaker A:

And I hate to do that wishy washy thing to you.

Speaker A:

So when you trust in the Lord, you are exercising faith.

Speaker A:

Faith.

Speaker A:

But when you're trusting, you're resting.

Speaker A:

When you're operating in faith, sometimes you're stepping out.

Speaker A:

And it's not the same thing as arresting.

Speaker A:

Faith sometimes is stepping out of the boat, right?

Speaker A:

Trusting is going, the Lord will keep me safe.

Speaker A:

So they interplay with each other, but they have different approaches.

Speaker A:

Faith is more of a bold step out.

Speaker A:

When you pray, you have faith.

Speaker A:

Lord, do this.

Speaker A:

Trust is.

Speaker A:

I'm not going to lean on my own understandings.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to let you handle this because I can't.

Speaker A:

And while they both have a connection to each other, faith has more to do with risk and trust has more to do with security.

Speaker A:

Does that make sense?

Speaker C:

Yeah, that's really helpful.

Speaker C:

Thank you so much.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Now here's the thing.

Speaker A:

I want you to know, the fact that you want to be more stable in your faith again, another testimony that you're one of God's kids.

Speaker A:

Does that mean that everything's going perfect?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Does that mean everything feels perfect?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Does that mean you're not going to struggle?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

And then that comes down to the healing part.

Speaker A:

And the healing part is the place to get the abundant.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to say this, and please don't get mad when I say this.

Speaker A:

The place to get that, get abundant healing is twofold before anywhere else.

Speaker A:

Number one, it's more time with God.

Speaker A:

And I know it's crazy, but in that more time with God.

Speaker A:

And I'm talking about prayer, just you and God.

Speaker A:

God knows what you're going to ask, but God wants you to spend time with him.

Speaker A:

And even sometimes when you pray, it's not about filling the air with words.

Speaker A:

Sometimes it's just coming before him and saying, here I am before you.

Speaker A:

You know I'm hurting.

Speaker A:

Here I am.

Speaker A:

Please, Dad, I just need like hug, whatever the case may be.

Speaker A:

God is a father.

Speaker A:

He's also Jesus said abba father a dad.

Speaker A:

So he understands that.

Speaker A:

He understands sometimes you just need that embracing.

Speaker A:

And there are many times where when you read his Word, it also will bring you into this place where your mind and your heart are refreshed or made new.

Speaker A:

The Bible says the law of the Lord is perfect, able to restore the soul in Psalm 19:7.

Speaker A:

And so the idea behind that is sometimes you read the Word of God and it will bring newness into your system.

Speaker A:

It will refresh you, revive you, touch you, and heal you.

Speaker A:

And the scripture does say he sent the Word and it did heal them.

Speaker A:

So there's this element in the Word and in prayer and devotions with God.

Speaker A:

The second place, brother, I'm telling you this is in fellowship where people actually care.

Speaker A:

Not fellowship where everybody has to march a certain way.

Speaker A:

Not fellowship where everybody has to say the same thing.

Speaker A:

Fellowship where people's hearts are there for you and sometimes you get super blessed and the Lord leads you right to it.

Speaker A:

Sometimes you have to take a couple of journeys to get to it.

Speaker A:

And I understand that.

Speaker A:

But people of the kingdom of God are your second greatest resource right after God to help you.

Speaker A:

Now, that doesn't mean there's not great programs in churches.

Speaker A:

There's thousands of churches worldwide that do phenomenal job.

Speaker A:

But the two things I'm going to tell you that you really need to like this has just got to be my priority is that time with the Lord and that time with brothers and sisters who actually, and I mean it man actually care.

Speaker A:

They actually care because that will go a long way to helping you find resolution, healing and touch from God, from people from other places that either you've wounded yourself or other people have wounded you.

Speaker A:

That's where you find it from.

Speaker A:

The redemption is in God and in his house because his house is oftentimes a hospital.

Speaker A:

And that's where people need to go when they're hurting.

Speaker A:

Does that make sense?

Speaker C:

Yes, sir.

Speaker C:

That helps me a lot.

Speaker C:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

Oh no, you're more than welcome.

Speaker A:

I want to pray over you.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Is that cool?

Speaker C:

I have one more follow up question.

Speaker C:

I do apologize.

Speaker A:

That's okay.

Speaker C:

Talking to maybe think of this other thing.

Speaker C:

When it comes to eternal gifts, is there a tier list when you're saved and are there consequences even though we are internally saved, where God's going to judge us for them?

Speaker C:

Like I think about that verse where it says, lord, Lord, I did all these things in your name.

Speaker C:

And he's like, I never knew you.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

So that's the biggest key in that component there is back to what we said and what Jesus said is, you know, depart from me, I never knew you.

Speaker A:

They had no relationship.

Speaker A:

These are people that do things in the name of the Lord, but don't know the Lord, so they spend no time with the Lord.

Speaker A:

Now there are gifts that the Lord has given you, there are graces and there are abilities that God has given you and he wants you to use them.

Speaker A:

And he wants you to use them in partnership with him.

Speaker A:

If you don't, it does not mean you don't get saved.

Speaker A:

But it does mean you're taking away from your own self.

Speaker A:

You're taking away from your own self the very things that God is trying to get you involved with to give you like the eternity that you want.

Speaker A:

In other words, in eternity there's going to be rewards.

Speaker A:

Well, I know, but why would you want less rewards?

Speaker A:

In other words, why do you want to go to eternity with $2 in the bank instead of $20 in the bank?

Speaker A:

And I'm trying to give you an illustration in that it's not going to affect that you're going to spend eternity with God.

Speaker A:

And the greatest thing of all things is spending eternity with God.

Speaker A:

But don't sell yourself short.

Speaker A:

Put up place up, lay up in heaven the treasures that will be with you for eternity.

Speaker A:

So if you've got stuff that you think you should be doing or participating in, that's again you ask for guidance.

Speaker A:

Ask for the people of God.

Speaker A:

Ask the if a man lacks Wisdom.

Speaker A:

Let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without finding fault.

Speaker A:

God could nail you a thousand different ways for fault finding, but he's telling you, you need wisdom.

Speaker A:

Ask me.

Speaker A:

I'm not going to pick you apart.

Speaker A:

And I'm generous in this.

Speaker A:

And then you seek the Lord for it, and you ask other people and you counsel.

Speaker A:

Because in the multitude of counsels is wisdom.

Speaker A:

So these are the things that you really want to operate in.

Speaker A:

And God is for you, not against you.

Speaker A:

And even if you've messed up 100,000 times, the prodigal son is just the greatest illustration.

Speaker A:

When you come to your senses and you come back, the Father is looking for you.

Speaker A:

He's waiting for you.

Speaker A:

That's how God is.

Speaker A:

That's the picture of God.

Speaker A:

So here's what I'm going to do.

Speaker A:

Because our time is short, I'm going to ask the audience to pray for you.

Speaker A:

Is that okay?

Speaker A:

And I'm going to pray for you real quickly.

Speaker A:

Lord, I pray you bless my brother.

Speaker A:

And I pray, Lord, that he would discover in this next 24 hours just how much you are committed to him, open his eyes, his ears, his heart, and speak to him in the name of Jesus.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

That's the one that we text on.

Speaker A:

You text me.

Speaker A:

I always respond.

Speaker A:

Takes me a little bit.

Speaker A:

And you keep in touch with me and tell me how you're doing, and I will do my best to help you walk it.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker C:

Yes, sir.

Speaker A:

How can I pray for you, brother?

Speaker A:

I'm going to talk about that in the next 15 minutes.

Speaker A:

So if you get a chance to listen.

Speaker A:

If not, there's a podcast.

Speaker A:

But if you get a chance to listen, try and listen.

Speaker A:

I want to share it with everybody.

Speaker A:

All right, my brother.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

Bless you, brother.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right, we're going to take our break here.

Speaker A:

That was just what the Lord wanted.

Speaker A:

So we do it right.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Your break will be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker D:

They were sisters.

Speaker A:

That is correct, sir.

Speaker A:

You are right.

Speaker A:

And it's like.

Speaker A:

It's like, I'm not saying I don't want to, you understand, but like, yuck.

Speaker A:

That's all I could say.

Speaker A:

It's like, I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

That's all I can come up with.

Speaker A:

Like, yowza.

Speaker D:

Well, he was tricked into It.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, I'm gonna go with that, but I.

Speaker A:

I mean, if you're the two sisters, you just got to be thinking, now wait a second here.

Speaker D:

Can I.

Speaker D:

Can I tell a real quick joke?

Speaker D:

I won't take up much time.

Speaker D:

Hopefully I'll try to make it.

Speaker D:

Try to make it biblical, but not scriptural.

Speaker A:

I'm with you.

Speaker A:

That's about 99% of everything we do on jokes.

Speaker A:

Trust me.

Speaker D:

I figured you understand to set this up.

Speaker D:

Okay, let's set this up.

Speaker D:

When I ask the question, you'll have to answer it to the first thing that pops into your head.

Speaker D:

Otherwise, it's kind of like those knock, knock jokes.

Speaker D:

You have to say, knock, knock, you know, or who's there?

Speaker D:

So anyway, Paul was out in the Mediterranean Sea.

Speaker D:

He was on.

Speaker D:

Sailing across it right before the storm hit.

Speaker D:

He was writing some letters.

Speaker D:

He was.

Speaker D:

He was sitting there writing, and one of the sailors came up and looked at him and said, what are you doing?

Speaker D:

So I'm writing some letters here.

Speaker D:

And he paused, put down his.

Speaker D:

His quill and parchment and looked up at the sailor and says, this is a time to talk to him.

Speaker D:

He says, now here's the question, David, and this is where you have to answer.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker D:

What is a pirate's favorite letter of the Alphabet?

Speaker D:

And the sailor said, nah, that would.

Speaker A:

Be the sea, matey.

Speaker D:

The sea.

Speaker A:

That's a good.

Speaker A:

So it's not the R.

Speaker A:

No, it's the C.

Speaker A:

It's the C, matey.

Speaker A:

Hey.

Speaker D:

Hey.

Speaker D:

I love your show.

Speaker D:

Thanks.

Speaker D:

Thanks for keeping keeping it going.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

And thank you for being such a great brother and a great support.

Speaker A:

We appreciate.
