01-30-2025 part 2: Cutting Away the Old: Discovering Our New Life in Christ

This episode delves into the concept of spiritual circumcision in Christ, emphasizing that it represents the cutting off of our old sinful nature. Dr. David Spoon highlights how this transformation is essential for living a renewed life, free from the burdens of our past. He discusses the importance of faith in God’s power to raise us from spiritual death, encouraging listeners to embrace their new identity in Christ. Throughout the episode, the conversation touches on personal testimonies of faith and healing, illustrating the real-world impact of trusting in God's promises. Join Dr. Spoon and his guests as they explore the profound implications of living a life transformed by faith and the ongoing journey of spiritual growth.

Delving into the intricacies of Colossians, David Spoon articulates a compelling narrative about spiritual renewal through circumcision in Christ. He emphasizes the metaphorical significance of circumcision, equating it to the removal of the old sinful nature that hinders believers from fully embracing their identity in Christ. By unpacking Colossians 2:13-15, Spoon elucidates that the act of circumcision is a divine procedure carried out by Christ, signifying a profound transformation that every believer undergoes. This transformation is not just a historical or cultural reference but a crucial aspect of the faith that defines who we are as new creations in Christ. The episode invites listeners to reflect on their own journey of faith, encouraging them to acknowledge and embrace the new identity afforded to them through grace.

The episode further emphasizes the completeness of Christ’s work on the cross, highlighting that all debts—spiritual and moral—are entirely forgiven. Spoon draws attention to the power of faith, explaining that it is through our belief in the resurrection power of God that we are raised to new life. This powerful message resonates deeply, as Spoon intersperses personal anecdotes and testimonies that illustrate the real-world implications of these spiritual truths. Listeners are reminded that, while they may struggle with remnants of their old selves, they are not defined by them; instead, they are empowered to live victoriously through their faith in Christ.

As the episode progresses, Spoon shifts gears to foster a sense of community among his listeners. He invites praise reports and prayer requests, creating an interactive environment that underscores the importance of sharing and supporting one another in faith. This segment not only reinforces the concept of community but also allows Spoon to connect with his audience on a personal level. The blend of humor, relatable storytelling, and theological depth makes this episode not just informative but also a source of encouragement, leaving listeners inspired to walk in their new identity and share their testimonies of God’s transformative power.

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.

David Spoon:

It's Expository Thursday.

David Spoon:

Expository Thursday.

David Spoon:

As we work together to know the letter better into the narrative of the Book of Colossians, we travel to understand what things the Lord requires of us as we learn to apply God's timeless truths in our lives.

David Spoon:

First, back into Colossians, chapter 2.

David Spoon:

Picking it up right at verse 13, although we may visit verse 12 for a second.

David Spoon:

Remember that Christology, the study of Christ, is the key to the letter.

David Spoon:

Jesus is the focus.

David Spoon:

So in verse 13, the apostle writes, you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature.

David Spoon:

It's simple.

David Spoon:

Before Christ, we were dead, which is why we need to be born again.

David Spoon:

It's not just a saying, it's a spiritual truth that is inescapable.

David Spoon:

When people mock Christians about being born again, they fail to understand that they are mocking God.

David Spoon:

Next, God has made us alive with Christ.

David Spoon:

We share in Jesus resurrection power by positionally and as the Lord works in our lives, practically, our position with God is that we've been born again through Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

From his ascension, he pours out the Holy Spirit in us and in Jesus.

David Spoon:

He forgave us our trespasses.

David Spoon:

But there is a key phase in this that we cannot afford to miss.

David Spoon:

He forgave us all our trespasses, not just some.

David Spoon:

And finally, by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, he canceled our debt which was ascribed to us and stood against us and us deserving that punishment.

David Spoon:

Without a doubt, he nailed it to the cross.

David Spoon:

When people think of the word debt, we often think of money.

David Spoon:

But keep in mind that we owe God a moral debt.

David Spoon:

This moral debt highlights that we are bankrupt when it comes to righteousness.

David Spoon:

Through Jesus Christ, however, we receive a new inheritance.

David Spoon:

Cha Ching.

Talking to Jam and Jacob is the same feeling you get when you are being appreciated.

David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

Happy Thursday.

David Spoon:

Happy Thursday.

David Spoon:

I love that music for you.

David Spoon:

That's really just great.

David Spoon:

That's great music for you.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's just a great intro for you.

David Spoon:

I'm just really.

David Spoon:

I'm for it.

David Spoon:

I'm just letting you know.

David Spoon:

It's like my favorite so far.

David Spoon:

Well, thank you.

David Spoon:

That's from one of my favorite movies with Back to the Future, so I'll keep it throughout February as well.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

In fact, we have a message coming up in about two, three, four, five weeks.

David Spoon:

It's called Back to the Future, Part 3.

David Spoon:

How about that, folks?

David Spoon:

Huh?

David Spoon:

Huh?

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

We're not too media ized.

David Spoon:

Don't get mad at me.

David Spoon:

It's how I grew up.

David Spoon:

The Lord uses it.

David Spoon:

And that's what's really cool about it.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

That's the key ticket in the process.

David Spoon:

All right, so here's the deal.

David Spoon:

Why in the universe.

David Spoon:

Why in God's green universe?

David Spoon:

In his universe, it's green, but it's green cause it's cool.

David Spoon:

Not because it's a green new deal.

David Spoon:

It's very simple.

David Spoon:

Why would you email us?

David Spoon:

Why would you text us or even why would you call us?

David Spoon:

And that's simple.

David Spoon:

It could be for a praise report.

David Spoon:

And we love those.

David Spoon:

And praise reports are cool.

David Spoon:

It doesn't have to be spoken wisely.

David Spoon:

It just has to be shared.

David Spoon:

You just let the Lord take care of what happens to it.

David Spoon:

But it blesses others.

David Spoon:

It blesses yourself, and it blesses and honors God.

David Spoon:

That's the ticket where we stand in.

David Spoon:

We can do prayer requests because we believe prayer works.

David Spoon:

Because get this, get this.

David Spoon:

Because it does.

David Spoon:

And anytime you come across somebody, they go, it doesn't work.

David Spoon:

You should just say, well, not for you.

David Spoon:

You don't have any faith.

David Spoon:

Of course it doesn't work.

David Spoon:

But for those that believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

David Spoon:

See, see, by the way, that's always connected to God, not independently.

David Spoon:

Okay, get it.

David Spoon:

Okay, very funny.

David Spoon:

All right, then additionally, it could be for something you want to share, something you came across, something important, something that's on your heart, whatever those things are.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

Got it.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Or it can be for a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Before we get to the trivia question, I see that we do have somebody on the line, so we'll give them a chance to pop in and see what's happening.

David Spoon:

So go ahead and send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Charles Edwards:

This is Charles Edwards.

Charles Edwards:

I talked to you a while back.

David Spoon:

Hi, Charles.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Charles Edwards:

Just fine.

Charles Edwards:

I just have.

Charles Edwards:

I had a couple requests.

Charles Edwards:

Well, one request, but you got it.

Charles Edwards:

I got a praise.

Charles Edwards:

I got a praise report that I had, you know, had battles in my mind.

Charles Edwards:

I went ahead and went through Don Diggerman ministry and.

Charles Edwards:

And was the.

Charles Edwards:

Went through deliverance.

Charles Edwards:

And in the meantime, for being restored of healing, I've had these varice veins and something that was.

Charles Edwards:

They were always biopsying on my stomach.

Charles Edwards:

They go down once a year, and I've had it for several years.

Charles Edwards:

And anyways, in December, they went down my throat and he said, I can't find nothing.

David Spoon:

Wow.

Charles Edwards:

Take medicine or anything for it.

Charles Edwards:

So I praise God for that.

David Spoon:

First of all, that is just a phenomenal, phenomenal testimony.

David Spoon:

And I just, I gotta say, it's like when you first heard that, and this is just being honest, just being brothers and so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

When you first heard that, were you like, going, are you sure?

David Spoon:

You know.

Charles Edwards:

I was shocked because those things don't go away.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Wowzer.

David Spoon:

Praise the Lord.

David Spoon:

How gracious is God?

David Spoon:

That is so cool.

David Spoon:

That is an awesome, awesome thing that is taking place.

David Spoon:

Just the power of God operating in life.

David Spoon:

And that's for those that are listening.

David Spoon:

You should believe God can do anything.

David Spoon:

There's nothing he can't do, folks.

David Spoon:

All things are possible to him that believes.

David Spoon:

I mean, God can do anything.

David Spoon:

Remember, Jesus is at the garden.

David Spoon:

All.

David Spoon:

All things are possible for you.

David Spoon:

It's like, yep, there it is.

David Spoon:

Excellent, excellent testimony.

David Spoon:

How can we pray for you, brother?

David Spoon:

What we can do to be in prayer for you.

Charles Edwards:

My.

Charles Edwards:

My stepmother, Sherry Edwards, she's been sick in the hospital.

Charles Edwards:

And she has the varicy veins and.

Charles Edwards:

And cirrhosis.

Charles Edwards:

And she got dehydrated in her.

Charles Edwards:

And her kidneys were getting.

Charles Edwards:

You know.

Charles Edwards:

But they said they'll come back up and stuff.

Charles Edwards:

I just.

Charles Edwards:

She.

Charles Edwards:

She's 80 and my dad's 87, in great health.

Charles Edwards:

But I just would like.

Charles Edwards:

You sure.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

Let's do it right now.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Let's take your faith, my faith.

David Spoon:

Everybody who's listening, take your faith, stretch it out with ours.

David Spoon:

Just combine it all together.

David Spoon:

Let's do it.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now, and I just want to thank you and praise you.

David Spoon:

Thank you for child's testimony.

David Spoon:

I thank you, God, for the testimony you did in his life.

David Spoon:

What a blessing for us to hear about that gracious touch that you gave him.

David Spoon:

We thank you for it, Lord.

David Spoon:

We rejoice with him.

David Spoon:

It's just a great, great element.

David Spoon:

It's never deserved, Lord.

David Spoon:

It's just by your goodness, it's by your graciousness, it's by your kindness.

David Spoon:

It's because you love and we appreciate that, and we receive that.

David Spoon:

We lift up Sherry to you, Lord.

David Spoon:

Not doing as well as she needs to be doing.

David Spoon:

Having some problems in the kidney, dehydration, different areas.

David Spoon:

Lord, I'm not a doctor.

David Spoon:

I'm not the doctor that can diagnose her life.

David Spoon:

I just know you and your healing power.

David Spoon:

So we're asking you to reach into her body and bring healing power to Sherry.

David Spoon:

In the name of Jesus.

David Spoon:

We're asking you to touch her by the power of your spirit.

David Spoon:

In the name of Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

Past what the.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, it's not what we're against.

David Spoon:

The doctors.

David Spoon:

We love doctors, Lord.

David Spoon:

Bless them, guide them, direct them, but move it past them into your realm of healing.

David Spoon:

Bring that healing upon her and let her just be blessed by it.

David Spoon:

And let the family be encouraged by it.

David Spoon:

Let Charles just be lifted up by it and let us hear a testimony regarding it.

David Spoon:

Lord, we just thank you for it.

David Spoon:

We just entrust it into your hands.

David Spoon:

And we thank you and praise you for the testimony, for the opportunity to pray with Charles, and for the blessings and the things that you've been doing in his life.

David Spoon:

And we ask you to keep doing it, Lord.

David Spoon:

Keep moving upon him.

David Spoon:

We ask that again in the only name that's worthy to come to you in.

David Spoon:

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

And amen.

Charles Edwards:

Thank you, David.

Charles Edwards:

I appreciate it a whole lot.

David Spoon:

You're welcome, brother.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

Charles Edwards:

Great, great show today.

David Spoon:

Thank you, brother.

David Spoon:

I appreciate that.

David Spoon:

I appreciate it very much.

David Spoon:

God bless.

Charles Edwards:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Bye, bye, bye, bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Great, great.

David Spoon:

Great opening.

David Spoon:

Isn't that wonderful?

David Spoon:

Of course.

David Spoon:

See, this is the thing.

David Spoon:

You see what I'm saying?

David Spoon:

I just think God is cool.

David Spoon:

I was thinking about this today.

David Spoon:

Now I will confess this.

David Spoon:

I'm going to say this.

David Spoon:

I'm going to say.

David Spoon:

And I don't want you to get mad at me, okay?

David Spoon:

I just sometimes I can't believe that I get to, like, just, you know, part of my life is I get to get into the Word.

David Spoon:

And then I get into the Word and I go, what about this?

David Spoon:

I just think it's like that.

David Spoon:

It's so cool.

David Spoon:

God is just awesome.

David Spoon:

He's continually talking.

David Spoon:

If only we would continually listen, wouldn't that be awesome?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

So one thing that.

David Spoon:

So you got a praise report, a prayer request, Got all these things going on.

David Spoon:

We do have a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Because I don't want you to think we forgot about trivia.

David Spoon:

We didn't forget about trivia.

David Spoon:

I got two things of trivia right in front of me.

David Spoon:

I can't even get to all the questions.

David Spoon:

That's how many trivia questions I have.

David Spoon:

So let's open them up with a.

David Spoon:

Which I think is a good one.

David Spoon:

And we'll use this just as a launching pad.

David Spoon:

Jesus said in the ninth chapter of which book if you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

David Spoon:

Which book was it Ezra?

David Spoon:

Listen to my choices.

David Spoon:

Ezra, Malachi, Mark or Ephesians.

David Spoon:

Jesus said, if you can believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

David Spoon:

Now, I love the believeth.

David Spoon:

And I'm just going to say that the King James paraphrase.

David Spoon:

I love that because the believeth word means to continually believe.

David Spoon:

It doesn't mean believe for a second.

David Spoon:

It means keep believing.

David Spoon:

If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

David Spoon:

These are the words of Jesus from which book?

David Spoon:

Chapter nine of which book?

David Spoon:

Ezra, Malachi, Mark or Ephesians.

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

By the way, you are welcome to reach out to us.

David Spoon:

Isn't that fun?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

You can send an email davidemustincrease.org I really believe that our DNA, by the way, is the core of the most important thing that we do on this show.

David Spoon:

You know, we are.

David Spoon:

Once you.

David Spoon:

We're six weeks away.

David Spoon:

What is this?

David Spoon:

This is the 30th of January.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

March 18th will be six years we've been doing the show.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Just to let you know.

David Spoon:

And somewhere in April or May is.

David Spoon:

I think it's April, there'll be our 15th hundredth show.

David Spoon:

Somewhere in that ballpark.

David Spoon:

I think that the core of the show is this DNA.

David Spoon:

I know it's silly, but I just really believe that.

David Spoon:

I believe that this is the key for all of us.

David Spoon:

And if we can do it on a regular basis, we have.

David Spoon:

You wouldn't believe how many testimonies I get from people that they don't share.

David Spoon:

But it's just fascinating DNA.

David Spoon:

This is the building blocks of what we should be doing as Christians on a 247 basis.

David Spoon:

Here's the D, which is pretty.

David Spoon:

I think it's pretty important.

David Spoon:

D stands for draw closer to the Lord.

David Spoon:

That would be daily.

David Spoon:

Good job.

David Spoon:

I was trying to help you out because he was on the phone.

David Spoon:

All right?

David Spoon:

So draw closer to the Lord daily.

David Spoon:

D.

David Spoon:

And that all.

David Spoon:

Everything, everything that flows in scripture.

David Spoon:

I'm just going to tell you right now, if you have any kind of ministry, if you have any kind of Christian walk, everything flows from your relationship.

David Spoon:

When Jesus was sitting there and remember the disciples, they said, well, we're going to get you food.

David Spoon:

Hey, you need to eat food.

David Spoon:

And Jesus says, I have food.

David Spoon:

You don't know what it is.

David Spoon:

You don't know its core.

David Spoon:

Jesus was talking about his communion and his obedience and his response to the Father.

David Spoon:

Everything flows out of that relationship that you have with God.

David Spoon:

All ministry, all right?

David Spoon:

Living, all righteous, all character.

David Spoon:

All of that flows from that connection.

David Spoon:

It's like tapping.

David Spoon:

I just love the way that this has been said in the past.

David Spoon:

It's like tapping into the real divine.

David Spoon:

It's like when you connect with God, it's the real deal.

David Spoon:

And that sets everything in motion.

David Spoon:

Remember, I'll just do this because I can't resist.

David Spoon:

I just can't.

David Spoon:

Jesus gets baptized.

David Spoon:

The Father speaks.

David Spoon:

This is my son, in whom I am well pleased.

David Spoon:

All he did was get baptized.

David Spoon:

But what did he do the prior 30 years?

David Spoon:

Hanging out with dad.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Just think about that, D.

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

I don't care what you say, don't do it.

David Spoon:

God created the universe.

David Spoon:

The dude can write a book.

David Spoon:

Maybe you don't understand all of it.

David Spoon:

I don't understand all of it.

David Spoon:

I get some of it.

David Spoon:

But there is a great depth to God's word.

David Spoon:

I'm never ashamed of it.

David Spoon:

I love it.

David Spoon:

I eat it because it is better than bread.

David Spoon:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

D N and then the A.

David Spoon:

Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

To serve.

David Spoon:

You know, one of the people that's called us in the past, I think is Alan, and he's a.

David Spoon:

You know, he does missionary work.

David Spoon:

And then a lot of our people are connected to different types of work when they're ministering to people who are really hurting.

David Spoon:

And they're chaplains and so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

As a chaplain, you never know at what moment you will be called upon.

David Spoon:

It's no different for a chaplain than it is for you.

David Spoon:

You never know when the Lord's going to call upon you.

David Spoon:

Be ready.

David Spoon:

You got to be ready to go for whatever it is.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

We do have somebody on the line.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Ken:

Hi, David.

Ken:

It is Ken.

David Spoon:

Hi, how are you?

Ken:

I am wonderful.

David Spoon:

Okay, now that's a great.

David Spoon:

I am wonderful.

David Spoon:

God bless you, brother.

David Spoon:

That's a great answer.

Ken:

I had to push it out, but still.

David Spoon:

Thank you for being patient on the line while I was rambling away.

David Spoon:

I do appreciate that, by the way.

Ken:

Oh, you know, hey, well, you know, I mean, you kind of got me started.

Ken:

Plus, you threw that like that, that meatball up there for someone to knock out of the park for the question.

Ken:

So I had to take it.

Ken:

And that's good.

David Spoon:

That's so good.

David Spoon:

All right, let me set it up for you.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

You stand it.

David Spoon:

This is like a T ball question, so go ahead.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes are the words from Jesus in the ninth chapter of Ezra, Malachi, Mark, or Ephesians.

Ken:

Well, you know, I think it was just Mark that I think the rest of them were.

Ken:

I don't think it was Paul and others, Ezra, them.

Ken:

Other guys.

David Spoon:

But Mark is the correct answer for that.

David Spoon:

That's just.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

It's amazing because in that portion, he goes, if you can believe.

David Spoon:

So then the onus comes back on us.

David Spoon:

It's like, yeah, you gotta participate in this.

David Spoon:

If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

David Spoon:

It's like, okay, we gotta get on it, right?

Ken:

Yep.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

Ken:

So I've got something to Share, absolutely.

Ken:

And a prayer after the share because you have to watch what you ask for.

Ken:

And so it was a day.

Ken:

So we, you know, we have.

Ken:

We collect mothers, me and my wife, and so we've got to take care of mine.

Ken:

And then her mom has been, you know, distance away, so it's like halfway between my.

Ken:

I've been.

Ken:

We've been taking care of her mom and my mom.

Ken:

She's been in a care home.

Ken:

And then the people, you know, she's been the hospital.

Ken:

So the hospital.

Ken:

Anyway, she's ended up.

Ken:

Everybody wants to put her down, right?

Ken:

We don't.

Ken:

We don't do that.

Ken:

And so we were.

Ken:

This was last September and there was one of those.

Ken:

A lot of pressure and we're there and she's in the hospital and.

Ken:

Excuse me.

Ken:

And.

Ken:

And so I'm like talking like, well, you know, you guys could do whatever you want.

Ken:

I have to ask her because I know that I've seen her prayers answered in front of my face all the time.

Ken:

And so she, I.

Ken:

We're driving home and I'm like, well, what did you pray for?

Ken:

And she says, well, you know, I prayed that, you know, my mother is well enough that we take her out of this hospital, that I'm going to take care of her myself.

Ken:

And I'm like, oh, great, because that's a lot of work.

Ken:

That.

Ken:

That was the path.

Ken:

So, I mean, where's the 10 o'clock at night?

Ken:

We're out here in Sherman.

Ken:

So we got a little.

Ken:

I gotta have.

Ken:

I went to have.

Ken:

I got to go 30 miles out of my way to get my trailer.

Ken:

And she's like, what are you doing?

Ken:

I said, I'm getting the trailer.

Ken:

We got to make room for your mother.

Ken:

And so it all turned out just like we prayed.

Ken:

And I knew that it would.

Ken:

I've seen these things, so I'm like, there's no question.

Ken:

Anyway, so when you answer the little preview, you know, when you count on these things and I do, and they fall worth like it is.

Ken:

But, you know, you got to be able to do what you ask for.

Ken:

And we're old, we got, you know, I got to.

Ken:

And so once.

Ken:

And so, you know, and then caregivers and all the other things and we don't, you know, hiding our faith is something that doesn't even happen.

Ken:

And so, you know, answer the.

Ken:

Anyway, so all the bad stuff, you know, how he is.

Ken:

And so, you know, we're really kind of like in an Ephesians 6:13 mode here.

Ken:

And so it's All.

Ken:

Everything just.

Ken:

You know, it does when you got to start getting prayers answered.

Ken:

And other people know because my caregiver thinks it's been like.

Ken:

It's been some bad, weird stuff for more inconvenient and you're trying to wear.

Ken:

And there's been some other stuff, you know, that.

David Spoon:

That is just.

David Spoon:

I.

David Spoon:

Let me say something because I want to.

David Spoon:

I want to commend you on something that doesn't happen a lot.

David Spoon:

And I think what you hit on was what does the key there.

David Spoon:

And that is.

David Spoon:

What are you doing?

David Spoon:

I'm getting the trailer.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because God's answering this prayer.

David Spoon:

We gotta do something.

David Spoon:

We gotta.

David Spoon:

It's just like, okay, here's.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna throw up the prayer.

David Spoon:

We can't throw up a prayer.

David Spoon:

Like, we're throwing up from bad eggs.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Can't do that.

David Spoon:

We've gotta throw up the prayer.

David Spoon:

Like, put the sails up.

David Spoon:

Come on, man.

David Spoon:

If you praying for wind, put the sails up so they can catch the sail.

Ken:

Yeah, well, then also.

Ken:

Yeah.

Ken:

And then you make sure that you load your cannons on the deck, because with the wind comes.

Ken:

Come with that wind comes the prince of the air.

Ken:

You know?

David Spoon:

That's right.

Ken:

Oh, all that stuff.

Ken:

It's you, your people, and all kinds of stuff going around it.

Ken:

So there's a lot of the distraction distortion, you know, the whole pile of Ds that come in when they.

Ken:

When they got.

Ken:

When you're figured out.

Ken:

So.

Ken:

Yeah, every time when you're doing, you know, just like you were saying before, when they start, you know, when you.

Ken:

You lift your head up, you know, high enough, it's.

Ken:

They're coming after you when they.

Ken:

When they figure out what you're doing.

Ken:

And we've.

Ken:

We've.

Ken:

We've.

Ken:

We've punched a big hole in his game for sure.

David Spoon:

Yes, that's right.

David Spoon:

That's right.

Ken:

But the prayer is.

Ken:

Because, you know, my poor wife, I cannot even keep up with her, you know, I mean, she's like, killing me.

Ken:

And I pray for her all the time, and, you know, I see the Lord with her all the time.

Ken:

That's what got me started.

Ken:

I'm like, what is that?

Ken:

You know, you see that?

Ken:

And you said that.

Ken:

I'm like, going, what?

Ken:

It's just like in the book, you know, you live that way and they'll see it.

Ken:

I'm like, I wanted that.

Ken:

And then you don't.

Ken:

You don't say you want that.

Ken:

And God hear you because it's coming.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

So that's cool.

Ken:

So I believe Absolutely.

Ken:

Every word.

Ken:

You know, I believe.

Ken:

What?

Ken:

None.

Ken:

Whether I know it or not.

Ken:

I'm not trying to prove if it.

Ken:

It's like how and why.

Ken:

And that's how I run at it.

David Spoon:

That's awesome.

David Spoon:

That's.

David Spoon:

What a phenomenal job you've done.

David Spoon:

That is really.

Ken:

So prayers.

Ken:

So prayers for my wife and my two mothers and all the caregiver and my caregiver Ty, because they all strong, making me look weak.

Ken:

And so it's been a challenge to my manhood watching women who's like going feedings, you know, because I mean, it doesn't stop, you know, I mean, she's on a feeding tube.

Ken:

So we're so, we're, you know, we're changing and doing stuff.

Ken:

It's between two, you know, I go to bed at three o'clock every morning whether I'm sleepy or not.

David Spoon:

Well, let me pray over everybody.

David Spoon:

I wanted to just a prayer of blessing, a prayer of protection, strength, wisdom and continued faith and growth in faith.

David Spoon:

Let's do it.

David Spoon:

Let's bring it before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before youe right now.

David Spoon:

How phenomenal.

David Spoon:

Well, first of all, how phenomenal are you?

David Spoon:

You're just phenomenal to each and every one of us.

David Spoon:

Your kindness is so passed, it's so past us, Lord, because you are continually kind, even when we're really being dumb.

David Spoon:

And your mercies are just, they're just never ending.

David Spoon:

And your answers are phenomenal and your graciousness is just lights out.

David Spoon:

And I'm just praying for this whole family and what I'm praying for.

David Spoon:

Kind of a weird prayer, Lord.

David Spoon:

And I know you know where I'm coming from on this.

David Spoon:

I.

David Spoon:

I pray that this would have that echo effect that drop the rock in the water and have the ripples come out and have people be touched by what they hear.

David Spoon:

I'm praying for energy for everybody involved.

David Spoon:

Your word makes it clear.

David Spoon:

In Colossians 1:29, Paul says, I labor with the energy that God gives me.

David Spoon:

We want that energy for this family so that they can keep going, keep doing things that are advancing your kingdom, that are making declaration of your goodness, and that they're putting up the sales things ahead of time because they absolutely believe that you answer their petitions and shine that light to others around them so that the kingdom of God can be declared.

David Spoon:

Nobody can do this, but you do this very thing.

David Spoon:

Bless these people.

David Spoon:

What a phenomenal testimony from our brother.

David Spoon:

Love it, Lord.

David Spoon:

I just ask you just to bless him personally so he can know what a blessing he just was.

David Spoon:

To many people, I just thank you for him and pray your grace is upon him, upon his wife, upon the whole family.

David Spoon:

Stamina, strength, ability, but continually, continually putting up the sails.

David Spoon:

In Jesus name, Amen and amen.

Ken:

Amen.

David Spoon:

Amen, brother.

David Spoon:

Great job.

David Spoon:

Great, great, great job.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Don't you hesitate calling in, okay, that's right.

Ken:

No, now, that was for all of them.

Ken:

I've already died once on this job, so, you know, I know that.

Ken:

I know it's good for me, as I'm not till I'm done.

Ken:

And someone says, well, when they talk about dying, I'm like, well, if you're working, you know, Lord doesn't retire anybody that's working.

Ken:

And so you keep working, and then, you know, you know, until you, I don't know, keep working.

Ken:

Hey, and thanks for the talking about the prayer, because that is just.

Ken:

You don't surrender.

Ken:

You're just not getting the full paycheck.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

You know, Got it.

Ken:

And so it's just.

Ken:

That was.

Ken:

I hear people.

Ken:

I'm like going.

Ken:

You know, they just haven't said.

Ken:

I don't know it, but I know it's true.

Ken:

Give up and just don't even.

Ken:

Why does everybody want to outthink the Bible?

Ken:

Just.

Ken:

Just know it's true.

Ken:

And why.

Ken:

You know, not.

Ken:

Not how and what you.

Ken:

How and where.

Ken:

You know, which.

Ken:

That kind of a thing.

Ken:

Now.

Ken:

Not if it's a.

Ken:

It's a.

Ken:

It's a thing.

Ken:

Anyway, thanks for your time on the radio and thanks for listening to my long, drawn out.

Ken:

It's hard to give a short testimony because when God puts his hand on you, there's a whole, you know, it's not a short testimony thing like, yeah, I died and came back to life.

Ken:

You know, I mean, it's kind of like, how do you really do that?

Ken:

And people kind of go, yeah, I used to eat over there, too.

Ken:

So it's.

Ken:

It's hard to.

David Spoon:

I know.

David Spoon:

Good job.

Ken:

Anyway.

David Spoon:

Great job.

Ken:

Good.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

God bless you, man.

Ken:

Okay, so now play something funny.

David Spoon:

Well, we.

David Spoon:

We.

David Spoon:

Well, we're gonna play something funny because I gotta do jokes, but I'm not gonna do those yet.

Ken:

Anyway.

Ken:

Jacob wouldn't tell me the answer.

Ken:

I appreciate that.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Good job on the trailer.

David Spoon:

God bless you, man.

David Spoon:

Take care.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

Ken:

Bless you.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

See, you don't know what's gonna.

David Spoon:

We don't know what's gonna happen.

David Spoon:

You don't know what's gonna.

David Spoon:

I don't know what's gonna.

David Spoon:

We don't know.

David Spoon:

Don't you understand?

David Spoon:

We don't know.

David Spoon:

God knows.

David Spoon:

I mean, I just.

David Spoon:

That's what's so amazing is that I.

David Spoon:

I just go.

David Spoon:

I can't.

David Spoon:

I can't get away from that, man.

David Spoon:

I mean, I.

David Spoon:

I do want a Timex that comes from the Lord, because I want to see the timing, but come on.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

That's pretty cool.

David Spoon:

It's just like, what a great phone call.

David Spoon:

Great testimony.

David Spoon:

I mean, this is just so.

David Spoon:

Don't you love it?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

So somebody else is calling in.

David Spoon:

I'm not sure if we're gonna take this call yet.

David Spoon:

I don't know where it's going.

David Spoon:

I do have something that I'm gonna teach on, but I'm not, you know, I'm.

David Spoon:

Whatever God wants.

David Spoon:

That's all I care about.

David Spoon:

Here's the one thing I will tell you.

David Spoon:

And I do wanna remind you about February buddies.

David Spoon:

So listen.

David Spoon:

So, you know, Ken calls in and then, you know, people try to figure out.

David Spoon:

And then Charles calls in and different people call in and different things take place.

David Spoon:

Listen.

David Spoon:

Listen for people as they call in and see if that's a connection.

David Spoon:

And then maybe that they can become your fed buddies.

David Spoon:

Because after all, it's the 30th.

David Spoon:

I think it's the 30th already of January.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

And so the 31st is tomorrow.

David Spoon:

So we'll be really hitting it hard when we get into Monday.

David Spoon:

Listen on the radio.

David Spoon:

And if there's somebody that you hear, somebody that calls regularly, somebody that calls for a first time, somebody that you just connect to, somebody that you have this movement for them, when you hear them or you hear us talk about it, you're like, you know what?

David Spoon:

I really wanna pray for that person.

David Spoon:

We have so many people in our audience that need prayer and that want prayer.

David Spoon:

And for you, praying for them, that would be an answer for them.

David Spoon:

Because you'd be loving them.

David Spoon:

And they need that love.

David Spoon:

Now what we're gonna have to do is.

David Spoon:

Cause we did go through that first half hour, is I'm most likely gonna have to break here and then come back.

David Spoon:

And then when we come back, we got some things, other things that we're doing.

David Spoon:

Just relax, take a deep breath.

David Spoon:

Let's entrust it to the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's always a good idea.

David Spoon:

So we will take it here and keep it simple.

David Spoon:

You are listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:

$57 a month.

David Spoon:

And that's no bull.

David Spoon:

Um, Dave, this is a nice radio station.

David Spoon:

Oops, sorry.

David Spoon:

That's cowpunch sites.

David Spoon:

$57 a month.

David Spoon:

And that's no buny.

David Spoon:

There, that's better.

David Spoon:

Cowpunchsites.com dad, what is the David Spoon experience?

David Spoon:

Now I want to pull this out of Jude.

David Spoon:

Jude only has one chapter.

David Spoon:

Jude is the letter before the book of Revelation.

David Spoon:

Revelation, singular.

David Spoon:

It's the last letter before the book of Revelation.

David Spoon:

And this is what it says in verses 17 through 19.

David Spoon:

I want you to listen to this and then I want you to think about today, all the stuff that's going on.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to go overly political.

David Spoon:

I want you just to consider the landscaping that we're all living in right now, the landscape of society.

David Spoon:

It says this.

David Spoon:

But you must remember, beloved, that the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, they said to you in the last times.

David Spoon:

There will be scoffers following their own ungodly passions.

David Spoon:

It is these who cause divisions.

David Spoon:

Worldly people devoid of the Holy Spirit.

David Spoon:

Now listen to that.

David Spoon:

This is a prophecy that is being brought up by Jude, who is a brother to Jesus, won't even identify himself that way.

David Spoon:

Brother to James, who was in charge of the church after the James of Peter.

David Spoon:

James John died in Acts 12.

David Spoon:

In Acts 15, the other James kind of ascends to the position of power, so to speak.

David Spoon:

And he's not in charge of everybody.

David Spoon:

He's just kind of leading the show.

David Spoon:

And like Peter did in the early church.

David Spoon:

And this is Jude, his brother and brother of Jesus.

David Spoon:

And he's telling you got to remember what the apostles said.

David Spoon:

The apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, he's so humble when he writes that.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's k double amen 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Got a couple things I need to cover with you.

David Spoon:

So we're kind of covering a little bit of business that's always important to do.

David Spoon:

Please remember to pray for the people that went through that plain tragedy.

David Spoon:

We're just asking everybody to remember that.

David Spoon:

And please remember to pray for one another and to care about one another.

David Spoon:

Because, listen, the Bible says that if we bear one another's burdens, In Galatians, chapter 6, verse 2, we so fulfill the law of Christ.

David Spoon:

What the Lord wants us to do is care about one another.

David Spoon:

And just in case you're wondering how deep we can go in that theologically, I'll just drop this on you because I'm being a nice guy today.

David Spoon:

Basically, Jesus gave the summation of the law.

David Spoon:

What was that summation?

David Spoon:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

David Spoon:

Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

David Spoon:

However, in John 13, Jesus said a new commandment I give you.

David Spoon:

Love one another as I have loved you.

David Spoon:

So what's important for us to understand is how Jesus loved you and I far exceeds how we love ourselves.

David Spoon:

And that's the love he wants us to have for our brothers and sisters, specifically for the family of God.

David Spoon:

That's why that's important.

David Spoon:

It's like, oh, yeah, that's kind of like, ooh.

David Spoon:

That kind of puts it on a whole nother plane.

David Spoon:

It does.

David Spoon:

And it's appropriate.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Now, one thing I have to do is send you guys to the website.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna do that in a second.

David Spoon:

But I wanna just point out I always appreciate it when people give and the Lord.

David Spoon:

And I'm not in a fight with God.

David Spoon:

Cause you can't win.

David Spoon:

You know what I'm saying?

David Spoon:

But I don't like bringing it up.

David Spoon:

Blah, blah, blah.

David Spoon:

But the finances have been an issue, and we've had some people step in and step up, and that's always good.

David Spoon:

Here's what I'm gonna say to you.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna try and say it as simple as possible.

David Spoon:

You never have to give to this ministry ever to receive anything and everything we can possibly give you.

David Spoon:

If you want a book, we will get that for you.

David Spoon:

If there's something you need and we can do it, we'll do it.

David Spoon:

You know, we don't have the capacity to.

David Spoon:

We don't have a fund where we can dip in and give money to people.

David Spoon:

We just don't have that.

David Spoon:

It's just not our capacity.

David Spoon:

But you never have to be a giver to be a part of it.

David Spoon:

I just want to make sure you get that for those that give.

David Spoon:

It is so greatly appreciated.

David Spoon:

I'm full.

David Spoon:

Every time.

David Spoon:

Every time there's giving, I'm just so thankful to the Lord.

David Spoon:

Every time there's giving, I praise the Lord.

David Spoon:

I mean, literally.

David Spoon:

And so I just want to let you know how much I appreciate it.

David Spoon:

I am asking you to join me in my struggle by praying for.

David Spoon:

For the ministry and for us.

David Spoon:

We absolutely believe that there is phenomenal.

David Spoon:

There's something phenomenal coming.

David Spoon:

We just believe it.

David Spoon:

Just like what was Ken was talking about.

David Spoon:

Something is coming.

David Spoon:

The sales are up.

David Spoon:

So join me in that prayer and petition with me.

David Spoon:

Along those lines on the website is a place to give, and we encourage you to check that out because it's important for the ministry's sake.

David Spoon:

So check out how to give.

David Spoon:

The way to do that is you go to the website.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org Prayer request he mustincrease.org Praise report.

David Spoon:

Hemostincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org Hemustincrease.org I'm glad we played that because I was actually thinking of going swimming in the ocean, but now not so much.

David Spoon:

Starting to warm up.

David Spoon:

Perfect time to go for a swim.

David Spoon:

Perfect time to go.

David Spoon:

Okay, we'll just skip that.

David Spoon:

All right, your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's see who can get this one.

David Spoon:

This is.

David Spoon:

I hope you guys are ready for this.

David Spoon:

This is.

David Spoon:

You know, we're getting to the serious stuff now.

David Spoon:

Okay, don't get mad at me.

David Spoon:

It's a trivia question.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

I'm just pointing that out to you now.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Is the book of Vashti in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

David Spoon:

Is the book of Vashti in the Old Testament, the New Testament or neither?

David Spoon:

The book of Vashti, Old Testament, New Testament, or neither.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or send an email davidmustincrease.org so it's not complex if you know.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Fair enough.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Is the book of Vashti in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

David Spoon:

That is the question.

David Spoon:

We do have somebody on the line.

David Spoon:

Are they ready to answer the trivia question?

David Spoon:

Yeah, send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Little Brother:

This is your little brother.

David Spoon:

Hello, little brother.

David Spoon:

How art thou?

Little Brother:

Thou art good.

David Spoon:

Good.

David Spoon:

Glad to hear that.

David Spoon:

Let me go ahead and set you up on the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Not that this is a complex one, but it's still one that has to be asked because it's on the piece of paper that I printed out.

David Spoon:

So that's why it's got to be asked.

David Spoon:

In case you're wondering why that is, here it is.

David Spoon:

Is the book of Vashti in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

Little Brother:

I think it's in the Book of Mormon.

David Spoon:

No, no, neither.

David Spoon:

Neither.

David Spoon:

Neither is correct, sir.

David Spoon:

That is the right answer.

David Spoon:

One day we'll talk about that.

David Spoon:

Just always wonder about the name of the angel.

David Spoon:

Anyway, what's going on with you, man?

David Spoon:

Good job on that one.

David Spoon:

How art thou?

David Spoon:

Art doing pretty good.

David Spoon:

Doing all right.

Little Brother:

Yes, sir.

David Spoon:

That is good news.

David Spoon:

That is good news.

David Spoon:

Anything you want to share?

Little Brother:

Yeah.

Little Brother:

Who drove the first motorcycle recorded in the Bible?

David Spoon:

You know, Samhsa.

David Spoon:

You know, I know every one of these.

David Spoon:

Just telling you right now.

David Spoon:

I'm going to give you the chance to say it because it's an excellent joke.

David Spoon:

So say the opening line again, then give the answer.

David Spoon:

It's a brilliant joke.

David Spoon:

Go ahead.

Little Brother:

Who drove the first motorcycle recorded in the Bible?

David Spoon:

And the answer is.

Little Brother:

You tell me.

David Spoon:

David.

David Spoon:

When he came in on his triumph.

David Spoon:

David.

Little Brother:

His triumph was heard throughout the land.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Good job, brother.

Little Brother:

Hey, earlier, you were encouraging all of us to pray for the people who need prayer, so I gonna keep praying for our brother Roger.

Little Brother:

So that's.

Little Brother:

I felt like I need to be praying for him.

David Spoon:

Good, brother.

David Spoon:

I really appreciate that.

David Spoon:

That's a good call.

Ken:

Yeah.

Little Brother:

Yeah.

Little Brother:

Thank you for encouraging all of us, because sometimes it's so easy to forget, but sometimes we just need a reminder.

David Spoon:

Yep.

Little Brother:

So thank you so very much.

David Spoon:

You're welcome, my brother.

David Spoon:

You know I love you.

Little Brother:

I love you, too.

Little Brother:

God bless.

David Spoon:

God bless you, bro.

David Spoon:

Bye, bye, Bye, bye.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, we're gonna get into this.

David Spoon:

We're gonna have to get into the Colossians text.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna jump in there real fast.

David Spoon:

There's this one part that I just can't.

David Spoon:

I just can't miss this because I need this.

David Spoon:

When I say that, it's like I'm not doing this, like in brilliance.

David Spoon:

I mean, I need this.

David Spoon:

This is what I need.

David Spoon:

So we're in Colossians, we're in chapter two.

David Spoon:

And we remember we came off of last week in Christ, all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form.

David Spoon:

And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every rule and authority.

David Spoon:

So never think that Jesus is not in charge.

David Spoon:

And remember Colossians all about Christ centered Christology.

David Spoon:

It's all about the study of Christ.

David Spoon:

Here's what it says in the next verse.

David Spoon:

In Him, in him you were also circumcised in the putting off of your sinful nature with the circumcision with Christ.

David Spoon:

I mentioned it before, but I didn't get to talk about it.

David Spoon:

Here's the thing you need to understand about circumcision.

David Spoon:

I'm going to make it super easy before people kind of lose their minds on this, okay?

David Spoon:

When the apostle goes on to say that circumcision is putting off the old sinful nature with a circumcision that took place by Jesus, remember that circumcision is the cutting off of too much flesh back in the time of Abraham.

David Spoon:

Well, so it is now.

David Spoon:

What the Lord is trying to teach you and I is that in Jesus, cut off the extra flesh.

David Spoon:

And don't tell me you don't have that war back and forth.

David Spoon:

Every epistle, every letter talks about this element where we go between the old man and the new man.

David Spoon:

Yes, the old man's crucified positionally, but not practically.

David Spoon:

Which is why when you visit the old neighborhood, it's as bad as it always was.

David Spoon:

That's the whole point.

David Spoon:

You ever notice that?

David Spoon:

It's like, how did I fall right back into that?

David Spoon:

All the way over what's going on?

David Spoon:

And it's in Christ that circumcision takes place.

David Spoon:

The cutting off of the flesh in Jesus, you reduce the power of the flesh that you walk in and you can reduce it to nada.

David Spoon:

But you have to understand that it is in Christ that happens.

David Spoon:

And that's why it says, in Christ you are a new creation.

David Spoon:

Just Dr.

David Spoon:

Robert Jeffress talking about being a new creation in Christ this last Sunday.

David Spoon:

The whole point of that is to understand in Jesus it's over.

David Spoon:

But sometimes some of us wake up on the wrong side of the bed and then forget we are in Jesus.

David Spoon:

Or we don't forget it, we just don't bother to use it.

David Spoon:

I love, love this Saying, I'll give credit to it.

David Spoon:

In Phoenix, Arizona, when it came in, a conversation between a couple people.

David Spoon:

We have the mind of Christ.

David Spoon:

The Bible says, that's not the problem.

David Spoon:

The problem is we don't always use it.

David Spoon:

That's the problem.

David Spoon:

See, we have the mind of Christ, but we need to use it.

David Spoon:

And you're thinking, wow, okay, so then where is the mind of Christ?

David Spoon:

The bi B L E.

David Spoon:

That's the book for me.

David Spoon:

I stand by faith on the Word of God.

David Spoon:

It's the B I, B L E.

David Spoon:

And that's why Jesus is called the Word of God.

David Spoon:

Get it, get it, get it, get it.

David Spoon:

And so it's like, yeah, wait a minute.

David Spoon:

I don't have to be on the downside of things.

David Spoon:

It doesn't mean that you're always smiling, but that doesn't mean you have to live in defeat.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

What did David say?

David Spoon:

King David, why so downcast, O my soul?

David Spoon:

Put your hope in God.

David Spoon:

He said it to himself.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

Sometimes we should say it to ourselves.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

In Jesus, I am new.

David Spoon:

I'm not going to stick around in this old baggy bones of old me.

David Spoon:

I'm going to live in the new, walking in the newness of life, in the freshness of life, in the restoration and redemption of life that comes from God through the Son and by the Spirit.

David Spoon:

That's what I want.

David Spoon:

But that's how you walk in love, joy, peace.

David Spoon:

You know, just right there.

David Spoon:

I just want to stop right there.

David Spoon:

Love, joy, peace.

David Spoon:

Most people skip that.

David Spoon:

You know, if we're walking in the Lord, there's joy, there's peace.

David Spoon:

If you had joy and peace, you'd have a lot less for Rumpies.

David Spoon:

Like, for Rumpies.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Everything happens for Rump Frump.

David Spoon:

It's like, that's enough.

David Spoon:

That's from Spaceballs.

David Spoon:

Don't do that.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Get it.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

That's just a little encouragement.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Okay, we're gonna take our break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You are listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truce station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon's Guest:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

David Spoon:

This is Acts, chapter 7, verse 58.

David Spoon:

The stone.

David Spoon:

The clothes of the people who stoned, Stephen.

David Spoon:

They were laid at the feet of who?

David Spoon:

Whose feet were they laid at?

David Spoon:

Was it Timothy, Saul or Titus?

David Spoon:

Timothy, Saul or Titus?

David Spoon:

Get that.

David Spoon:

There it is.

David Spoon:

That's your Triv question.

David Spoon:

See whose the clothes of those who stone, Stephen?

David Spoon:

Who were laid at whose feet?

David Spoon:

Timothy, Saul or Titus?

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

You can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org I want to say I appreciate the person that texted from San Diego.

David Spoon:

Good job.

David Spoon:

Shows that you are right in range.

David Spoon:

They're experiencing fine trials that are bringing them closer to the or fiery trials, bringing them closer to the Lord.

David Spoon:

We want to be praying for everybody, right?

David Spoon:

Praying for the audience in San Diego, praying for the audience in Dallas.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because you're brothers and sisters, and you're going to spend eternity together.

David Spoon:

And in this process of the trial, God is going to teach you his graciousness.

David Spoon:

Isn't that cool?

David Spoon:

All right, somebody's ready to answer your trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

David Spoon:

Hi, David.

David Spoon:

This is Lady J.

David Spoon:

Hello.

David Spoon:

How are you?

Ken:

I'm awesome.

Ken:

I just want you to know I am a new radio listener, and I love your radio station, everything you talk about.

Ken:

So you have a new fan.

David Spoon:

Aw, thank you so much.

David Spoon:

That's so sweet of you to say.

David Spoon:

I so appreciate that.

David Spoon:

I'm not gonna be able to send you $20 for it, but I do appreciate it.

Ken:

That sounds great.

David Spoon:

Just teasing.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

Here's your triv question.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

The clothes of those who stoned Stephen were laid at whose feet?

David Spoon:

Timothy Saul or Titus?

David Spoon:

Saul.

David Spoon:

That is correct, am.

David Spoon:

You are right.

David Spoon:

And he was just like, yeah, that's right.

David Spoon:

I'm really in charge of all this stuff.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Bring it over here.

David Spoon:

Bring it over here.

David Spoon:

And then on the road to Damascus, the Lord said, knock, knock.

David Spoon:

It was just like.

David Spoon:

That changed everything, didn't it?

David Spoon:

It's like, you know, when somebody blinds you and then knocks you on the ground, it's time to listen.

David Spoon:

That's what it is.

Ken:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Excellent job.

David Spoon:

10 stars out of 10.

David Spoon:

Excellent work.

Charles Edwards:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

I appreciate that.

David Spoon:

Thank you for calling.

David Spoon:

And what a blessing.

Charles Edwards:

Yes, sir.

David Spoon:

You have a blessed weekend.

David Spoon:

You, too.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Bye, bye.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience, which has gone by in lightning speed.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's Ka, Man, 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Wow, this did go really fast, didn't it?

David Spoon:

It really did go quite fast.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

Here is your last trivia question.

David Spoon:

Who, along with the other apostles, said in Acts 5, 29, we ought to obey God rather than men.

David Spoon:

Who, along with the other apostles, said we ought to obey God rather than men?

David Spoon:

Who said that in Acts 5:29?

David Spoon:

Was it John the Baptist, Judas, Peter or Paul?

David Spoon:

John the Baptist, Judas, Peter or Paul?

David Spoon:

Who said.

David Spoon:

Wait, John the Baptist, Judas, Peter or Paul?

David Spoon:

Who said we ought to obey God rather than men?

David Spoon:

Acts, chapter 5, verse 29.

David Spoon:

If you think you know, you do have to be quick, though.

David Spoon:

Our time's getting away from us.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Davidemusincrease.org okay, so I do want to do this one thing.

David Spoon:

There's only one thing.

David Spoon:

We're not going to do history.

David Spoon:

Because there's only one thing on history I want to do, but it is worth mentioning.

David Spoon:

Okay, so here it is.

David Spoon:

Ready for the history today?

David Spoon:

This is good because I like it.

David Spoon:

I don't know if you like it.

David Spoon:

I like it.

David Spoon:

Very simple.

David Spoon:

It's National Croissant Day, and I like croissants.

David Spoon:

So, I mean, I just got zero.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Remember the breakfast croissants that they first came out in fast food.

David Spoon:

I like those.

David Spoon:

Is that bad?

David Spoon:

No, no.

David Spoon:

Croissants are good.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I just want to make sure.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, I do have a joke that I have to tell, and it's rather funny.

David Spoon:

You ready for these?

David Spoon:

Okay, ready.

David Spoon:

This first one's not as funny, but the second one is hilarious.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

Did you hear about the film about prehistoric pigs?

David Spoon:

Did you hear about that?

David Spoon:

It's called Jurassic Pork.

David Spoon:

Well, if you like that one, you're gonna love this one.

David Spoon:

Did you hear about Darth Vader's brother having trouble with the irs?

David Spoon:

Darth Vader's brother having trouble with the irs?

David Spoon:

Do you know why he had trouble with the irs?

David Spoon:

Because his name was Taxi Vader.

David Spoon:

Taxi Vader?

David Spoon:

What do you want from me?

David Spoon:

I'm not a comedy writer.

David Spoon:

Come on, Tax Evader.

David Spoon:

Okay, all right, all right.

David Spoon:

Let me finish this next verse.

David Spoon:

That's right, folks.

David Spoon:

I get to tell a joke every once in a while.

David Spoon:

You know, I didn't say they were funny.

David Spoon:

I just get to tell them.

David Spoon:

Colossians, chapter 2.

David Spoon:

Come on, tax evader.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

Colossians, chapter 2.

David Spoon:

After that circumcision portion, verse 11.

David Spoon:

In him, you were also circumcised in the putting off of your sinful nature with the circumcision performed by Christ and not by human hands.

David Spoon:

In other words, this isn't something that people do.

David Spoon:

This is something that God does.

David Spoon:

Verse 12.

David Spoon:

Having been buried with him in baptism, you were raised with him through your faith.

David Spoon:

Faith in the power of God, who raises him from the dead.

David Spoon:

So there's two points here, and we want to talk about it.

David Spoon:

Number one is when you are baptized, it is an outward proclamation of the inward work.

David Spoon:

It is you connecting to God's work and saying, I proclaim I am a Christian in baptism.

David Spoon:

What's cool about baptism is there's some parts about it that are totally like.

David Spoon:

They get isolated in scripture.

David Spoon:

This is one of those places.

David Spoon:

And you're thinking, what do you mean by that?

David Spoon:

This is what it says.

David Spoon:

What it says is that in baptism we what we were buried with him.

David Spoon:

In this portion of scripture, it doesn't say we're raised with him in baptism.

David Spoon:

It just simply says we're buried with him.

David Spoon:

So I want you to catch that.

David Spoon:

That's an important point.

David Spoon:

It's also important to catch this point.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

This point right here.

David Spoon:

Super important.

David Spoon:

He says, you are buried with him in baptism.

David Spoon:

You were raised with him through your faith in the power of God.

David Spoon:

So scripture looks at all these things and looks at them at different points.

David Spoon:

In other words, people think, well, everything looks the exact same.

David Spoon:

That's so silly.

David Spoon:

You already understand, or at least if you listen to this show.

David Spoon:

Look, part of this is God choosing.

David Spoon:

Part of this is you and your free will.

David Spoon:

They're like two parts of a coin.

David Spoon:

You're still responsible for your decisions, but God also participates in the choosing.

David Spoon:

You don't know what God's choosing cause he doesn't tell.

David Spoon:

You still have to make decisions for yourself.

David Spoon:

But it's not like God doesn't choose and you still have to choose.

David Spoon:

That's like looking at the same element, but from two different points of view.

David Spoon:

Let's use the really clear illustration.

David Spoon:

Four people go up to an elephant.

David Spoon:

North, south, east and west.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

The west and the east are going to have exceedingly different points of view.

David Spoon:

The north and the south are going to be very similar to north and south, but different than east and west.

David Spoon:

It's still the same elephant.

David Spoon:

Nobody has to fear.

David Spoon:

That's just obvious.

David Spoon:

Like, oh yeah, I get that.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

So what we need to understand in this is that there is something that happens in baptism that is so cool.

David Spoon:

When you get baptized, you give greater power and testimony, authority and functionality in the fact that the old you has died.

David Spoon:

You give it that due that you're dead.

David Spoon:

And it doesn't have the power over you.

David Spoon:

Though you still seem to visit every so often.

David Spoon:

It doesn't own you.

David Spoon:

It's trespassing.

David Spoon:

The old you in the outside of that.

David Spoon:

It says through your faith in the power of God, you were raised with him.

David Spoon:

Faith brings us up.

David Spoon:

It raises you up.

David Spoon:

Without faith, it's impossible to please God.

David Spoon:

I cannot communicate to this audience, to myself or to anybody how important faith is since it's the vehicle that God has chosen for us to please him and engage within him.

David Spoon:

When you are down, faith brings you up to life.

David Spoon:

Are you down?

David Spoon:

Why so downcast, O my soul?

David Spoon:

Put your hope in God.

David Spoon:

Get that faith a moving.

David Spoon:

Because God can do anything and will do many things if we will do more.

David Spoon:

Believing through faith in the power of God who raised him from the dead you were raised.

David Spoon:

That faith pulls you up.

David Spoon:

Use that faith pull up.

David Spoon:

Do you understand?

David Spoon:

Pull up.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Your trivia question.

David Spoon:

Pretty straightforward.

David Spoon:

Who, along with the other apostles, said we ought to obey God rather than man?

David Spoon:

Was it John the Baptist, Judas, Peter or Paul?

David Spoon:

And the answer is Peter.

David Spoon:

It was Peter, in case you're wondering.

David Spoon:

I just screamed his name because it was fun.

David Spoon:

Thanks.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

22 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

More insanity with Spoon.

David Spoon:

Anity.

David Spoon:

Talk to you tomorrow.

David Spoon's Guest:

Just as I am he reach down.

David Spoon:

And seek me purchase my freedom at.

David Spoon's Guest:

The cost of.

David Spoon:

What else can I do?

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
