01-30-2025 part 1: Jesus' Warning: The Dangers of Delayed Repentance

Waiting to repent can have dire consequences, potentially leading one to Hell. Dr. David Spoon delves into the critical theme of repentance, emphasizing the urgency of turning to God before it’s too late. He discusses the misconception that one can sin freely and ask for forgiveness at the last moment, illustrating this with biblical examples like Jezebel and the thief on the cross. The episode also addresses the importance of understanding God's grace and mercy but underscores that genuine repentance is essential for redemption. Throughout the discussion, Dr. Spoon encourages listeners to reflect on their faith and act now rather than delay their spiritual commitments. The text also gives us insights into Jesus's position on the death penalty.

Dr. David Spoon presents a multifaceted exploration of faith, current events, and biblical teachings in this engaging episode. The show opens with a sensitive acknowledgment of a recent tragedy, providing a backdrop for an important discussion on maintaining faith during challenging times. Dr. Spoon emphasizes the necessity of community support and prayer, encouraging listeners to share their own experiences and needs. His charismatic delivery blends humor with heartfelt sincerity, creating a welcoming environment that invites participation and reflection. He addresses the dual themes of hope and resilience, reminding listeners that faith can provide strength even in the darkest moments.

The episode’s deeper theological exploration revolves around the concept of repentance, particularly as illustrated in Revelation through the character of Jezebel. Dr. Spoon articulates the dire consequences of ignoring God's call for repentance, challenging listeners to understand the gravity of unrepentant sin. He discusses how some may mistakenly believe they can delay repentance until the last moment, reinforcing the biblical truth that genuine repentance is necessary for spiritual redemption. This examination is enriched with scriptural references and personal anecdotes, making complex theological ideas accessible to the audience. Dr. Spoon’s passionate delivery inspires listeners to introspectively assess their own faith journeys and to embrace a more profound relationship with God.

As the show progresses, Dr. Spoon’s lighter anecdotes about his dog add a personal touch, showcasing his ability to connect with his audience on multiple levels. This blend of humor and serious discussion keeps the content engaging and relatable. He also includes interactive elements, such as Bible trivia and listener calls, encouraging community engagement that enriches the listening experience. The episode culminates in a powerful prayer for those affected by the tragedy, reminding listeners of the importance of compassion and unity in faith. Dr. Spoon’s ability to weave together humor, heartfelt prayer, and profound biblical teachings creates a rich and fulfilling experience for listeners, leaving them with both encouragement and a call to action.

Dr. David Spoon:

Here is the key to the show.

Dr. David Spoon:

We don't know what we're doing.

Dr. David Spoon:

We have no idea what's gonna happen and we don't care.

Dr. David Spoon:

But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk biblical love with you.

Dr. David Spoon:

So here we go.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

Dr. David Spoon:

That thing right there.

Dr. David Spoon:

And yes, I'm aware of what has taken place.

Dr. David Spoon:

And we will pray for the tragedy that took place last night.

Dr. David Spoon:

But we're not going to stop having faith, we're not going to stop believing, and we're not going to have this position where we don't have faith and confidence in our Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

to strive, to move forward in:

Dr. David Spoon:

Do we have faith in the Lord?

Dr. David Spoon:

Are you ready to receive from the hand of God?

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe the Lord will just return.

Dr. David Spoon:

Forget the eschatologies for a second.

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe he'll just come back and we'll all be going, yay.

Dr. David Spoon:

But are you ready to receive?

Dr. David Spoon:

ou have faith in the Lord for:

Dr. David Spoon:

Or do you think God went to Pluto on you?

Dr. David Spoon:

He's visiting Pluto.

Dr. David Spoon:

He likes it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Way out there.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's really, really, really far away.

Dr. David Spoon:

No, he loves you.

Dr. David Spoon:

He knows everything about you.

Dr. David Spoon:

He's going to be with you at every step, in every moment.

Dr. David Spoon:

Do you believe that he is a giver and ready to pour it out upon you?

Dr. David Spoon:

Do you have faith?

Dr. David Spoon:

Do you have expectation?

Dr. David Spoon:

If you have a response to that, if you have an opinion on something else, a common a thought or a question, don't let it die of loneliness.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just reach out and give us a call.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

Talking to Jam and Jacob is like spending time relaxing and chillaxing.

Dr. David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

Dr. David Spoon:

Happy Thursday.

Dr. David Spoon:

Happy Thursday to you.

Dr. David Spoon:

As you are aware and I am aware, there was that tragedy.

Dr. David Spoon:

We'll be praying about that in just a minute.

Dr. David Spoon:

But before we get down to that realm, checking in with you personally.

Dr. David Spoon:

How are things going?

Dr. David Spoon:

Did you have a good evening last night, A good morning this morning.

Dr. David Spoon:

How'd it go for you?

Dr. David Spoon:

I had a good evening and good morning this morning.

Dr. David Spoon:

How was your evening and morning?

Dr. David Spoon:

We fought together, Noel and I, against Burt.

Dr. David Spoon:

Trying to wake us up.

Dr. David Spoon:

We just kept telling him, no, no, no.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we have figured out a little bit on what's going on with him.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because it's been raining and because we haven't had the chance to take him on his normal walks.

Dr. David Spoon:

He's just a little amped up.

Dr. David Spoon:

So that's kind of what's going on.

Dr. David Spoon:

So when we sleep, we're just recovering.

Dr. David Spoon:

When he's sleeping, he's like going, I've been sleeping all day.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let's go, people.

Dr. David Spoon:

So that's what's going on.

Dr. David Spoon:

As best as we can tell, that's what the dog psychiatrist told us.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm kidding.

Dr. David Spoon:

So what you're saying is you lost the fight last night.

Dr. David Spoon:

Basically, we're losing.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're losing, and we're gonna have to take him for a walk.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's just no way around it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Cause he's.

Dr. David Spoon:

There is no.

Dr. David Spoon:

There is no rest going on there.

Dr. David Spoon:

All right?

Dr. David Spoon:

So we just want people to be aware.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you want to reach out to us, you can do it by phone as well.

Dr. David Spoon:

You can do it by text.

Dr. David Spoon:

Texting is very simple.

Dr. David Spoon:

It is a different number, I tell you that, because people do get them mixed up.

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

-:

Dr. David Spoon:

That's 214-210-848.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's the number you would text.

Dr. David Spoon:

Additionally, by the way, if you want to, you could in fact send us an email.

Dr. David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org that's davidemustincrease.org so I want to make sure everybody is aware that that's ways to get ahold of us.

Dr. David Spoon:

Here are a couple of reasons that you might want to reach out to us.

Dr. David Spoon:

Perhaps you have in fact a praise report.

Dr. David Spoon:

You've got something going on that potentially is something that you just wanna start praising the Lord for.

Dr. David Spoon:

You can see the beginning, you can see the middle, you can see the end of it.

Dr. David Spoon:

And all of it you know is just the grace of God.

Dr. David Spoon:

And you just wanna share it and testify to it and declare it unto the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

And declare it.

Dr. David Spoon:

The Bible says that God will put your feet upon a rock and a new song in your mouth.

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe it's a time to give praise.

Dr. David Spoon:

That praise will bless other Christians, but it will honor God.

Dr. David Spoon:

And that's most important.

Dr. David Spoon:

He doesn't just bless you so you can go yay.

Dr. David Spoon:

He blesses you so you can go yay.

Dr. David Spoon:

Look what God did.

Dr. David Spoon:

Additionally, if you have a prayer and you have something you want to pray about and you're petitioning and you're seeking and you're needing help, you're needing encouragement in your faith, you're needing other people to join their faith with your faith.

Dr. David Spoon:

Romans:

Dr. David Spoon:

Paul said, let's do that together as brothers and sisters.

Dr. David Spoon:

We have one father, we're blood relatives in the Lord Jesus Christ, and we drink of one Holy Spirit.

Dr. David Spoon:

There you go.

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe you've got something you just want to share.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's on your heart and on your mind.

Dr. David Spoon:

And you just like.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's heavy, it's light, it's cool, it's frustrating.

Dr. David Spoon:

Whatever the case may be, we'll do our best to love on you and to minister and to encourage you.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's what we do.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's the best we can do.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we are going to go into prayer right off the bat.

Dr. David Spoon:

And I want to pray for the situation that's gone on in Washington D.C.

Dr. David Spoon:

with the crash.

Dr. David Spoon:

For those that do not know, there was a fatal crash between what we can now ascertain is a helicopter and an airplane and 60 plus people have lost their lives.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you know anybody along those lines, you just imagine how dramatic that one Moment is they're doing their own investigation.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're not picking sides on investigation.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's not what we're here to do.

Dr. David Spoon:

What we're here to do is to ask God to bring comfort.

Dr. David Spoon:

For the Lord knows what was going to happen.

Dr. David Spoon:

This isn't something that God didn't see that that's ridiculous.

Dr. David Spoon:

He knows everything that's going to happen.

Dr. David Spoon:

But remember, the things that take place on earth take place because why man rebelled against God and brought the earth into sin.

Dr. David Spoon:

Now there is redemption through Jesus Christ, but the fullness of that redemption has not been exercised yet or there would be no death.

Dr. David Spoon:

And the reality check is that things happen in this world because sin entered it.

Dr. David Spoon:

If this was a sinless world, that would not happen.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's the truth.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we're gonna bring it before the Lord and ask him to be the God of comfort, the God of redemption, the God of healing.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're additionally gonna be praying for Grandma sue, who is Eric's relative.

Dr. David Spoon:

Actually, it's Lisa's mom, I believe, or Grandma.

Dr. David Spoon:

And so the whole process here is we're gonna be praying for one another as well as for these people.

Dr. David Spoon:

And if you've got something, and I'm not mentioning it because I know there's a lot of people that have some sicknesses and they're struggling, like Jeanette and different people that are frustrated.

Dr. David Spoon:

We want to be praying for Brother Roger and his wife and some very serious loss they've taken in their family.

Dr. David Spoon:

And we just want to lift people up before the Lord and ask the Lord to touch them with his grace and his peace.

Dr. David Spoon:

Don't forget Joy, Ann's friend who's going through that terrible situation.

Dr. David Spoon:

And there's a lot going on.

Dr. David Spoon:

Don't forget Taylor and his wife.

Dr. David Spoon:

These are people that you and I should be considering praying for, thinking of.

Dr. David Spoon:

You don't have to speak about them every 10 seconds, but to bring them before the Lord and ask for his help, that seems like a righteous thing to do.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's just my take on it.

Dr. David Spoon:

So let's go before the Lord praying for these different groups.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now.

Dr. David Spoon:

We want to just acknowledge you.

Dr. David Spoon:

You are in control.

Dr. David Spoon:

And, Lord, there are things that happen on our planet we do not get it.

Dr. David Spoon:

We do not understand it.

Dr. David Spoon:

And to some degree, we don't like it.

Dr. David Spoon:

I mean, it frustrates us because we don't understand.

Dr. David Spoon:

But again, Lord, that's because we're not you.

Dr. David Spoon:

We don't have all knowledge.

Dr. David Spoon:

You do.

Dr. David Spoon:

And so all we can do is come before you and say, lord, for these people that have lost family members, for these people that have suffered such a tragedy as our nation faces it together, which it's just a tragedy all the way around, we ask that you would in fact be the God of comfort for those that do not know you, that you can make yourself known to them, that you would make yourself known to them either directly or through some of your people, for those that know you, that they would find the comfort that comes from you, where only you can answer tragedy, only you can respond to the pain.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we lift these people up to youo, not just the believers, the nonbelievers, everybody involved.

Dr. David Spoon:

We ache for them, Lord, and we ask youk to bring youg mercy and you'd grace into their lives.

Dr. David Spoon:

We also lift up Grandma Sue's back in the hospital.

Dr. David Spoon:

You're already doing miraculous things through that situation, just in witnessing opportunities and sharing opportunities.

Dr. David Spoon:

But we ask you to bring your healing power into her life and lift her up, Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

She took a fall.

Dr. David Spoon:

She needs to be lifted up.

Dr. David Spoon:

She needs to be strengthened.

Dr. David Spoon:

She needs to be restored.

Dr. David Spoon:

And there are several people who listen to our show that need a physical touch.

Dr. David Spoon:

Nothing is impossible for you.

Dr. David Spoon:

t we know you are from Exodus:

Dr. David Spoon:

And for wounded relationships and people that are bleeding emotionally and they've been hurt and they're being hurt and they're hurting God, that your grace could prevail against the foolishness of our words, the foolishness of our actions, and the foolishness of our thoughts.

Dr. David Spoon:

That you would have mercy, that you would be a God of mercy and you would protect and you would watch over and for those that call upon your name, you would visit your daughters and your sons and love on them as only a perfect father can.

Dr. David Spoon:

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Dr. David Spoon:

Amen and Amen.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we will keep everybody as up to date as we can be.

Dr. David Spoon:

I don't want you to think that it's just a tragedy.

Dr. David Spoon:

Things that happen like this are just awful.

Dr. David Spoon:

And when we get into these kind of things, people start to do a lot of blame.

Dr. David Spoon:

And I want to point this out to you, and it's important for me to communicate this.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay?

Dr. David Spoon:

I really do want you to hear this.

Dr. David Spoon:

The idea to get resolution in these type of things is not to affix blame here.

Dr. David Spoon:

You want to affix blame for every single problem.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let's go back to the garden.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's where it all started when man told God, we'll run the world without you.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's where it started.

Dr. David Spoon:

But redemption through Jesus Christ changes the dynamic.

Dr. David Spoon:

So we pray that that portion of redemption can be manifest.

Dr. David Spoon:

And instead of sitting there pointing fingers, which is not the time, it's not the right place, not the situation for that.

Dr. David Spoon:

What it is is the situation for compassion and mercy and grace.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay?

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

So having said that, just being aware, that's kind of how we roll.

Dr. David Spoon:

And if you're like, well, you know what?

Dr. David Spoon:

I want to fix blame, go ahead.

Dr. David Spoon:

I don't know how that's going to help you.

Dr. David Spoon:

And when you're praying for people, you shouldn't be praying, get them, God, get them.

Dr. David Spoon:

You should be praying, God have mercy on them.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because once it' over, it's over.

Dr. David Spoon:

Right?

Dr. David Spoon:

Ain't no coming back.

Dr. David Spoon:

Right?

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, so here we go.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're gonna move forward into our teaching.

Dr. David Spoon:

For those that do not know, Revelation is the book that we are teaching on Thursdays.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's for the first portion of our show.

Dr. David Spoon:

And then the other 60 minutes, we jump in and we get into Colossians.

Dr. David Spoon:

We'll be in Colossians today.

Dr. David Spoon:

So I wanna pick it back up.

Dr. David Spoon:

I did not finish this one part which I thought was really worthy of attention.

Dr. David Spoon:

So I wanted to bring.

Dr. David Spoon:

Go back to it.

Dr. David Spoon:

For those that maybe am not remembering, we were trying to coordinate in regards to the church at Thyatira, and we talked about that.

Dr. David Spoon:

We talked about Thyatira last week.

Dr. David Spoon:

We talked about the Jezebel Spirit, and we talked about how that, you know, more than that being what people try to make it to be.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's very clear that this was a woman who was teaching encouraging sexual immorality and to eat things, sacrifice to idols, which Jesus was really unhappy about.

Dr. David Spoon:

Not just kind of unhappy, really unhappy.

Dr. David Spoon:

And I'm going to show you just about how unhappy.

Dr. David Spoon:

As we continue back in there, we pick it right back up and we are at verse.

Dr. David Spoon:

I think I'm at verse 21.

Dr. David Spoon:

And this is something interesting.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm actually going to roll it in from 20.

Dr. David Spoon:

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because you allow this woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce my servants to committing sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

Dr. David Spoon:

Listen to this in verse 21.

Dr. David Spoon:

And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality and she did not repent.

Dr. David Spoon:

Now you're sitting there thinking, wow, what does that mean?

Dr. David Spoon:

People have this notion.

Dr. David Spoon:

People have family members that have this notion that they're going to game the system.

Dr. David Spoon:

What do you mean, Dave?

Dr. David Spoon:

They're going to sin their brains out.

Dr. David Spoon:

And just before they enter into eternity, as if they know the moment that's going to happen, they're going to say, gee, I'm sorry, please forgive me, wipe out all my sins.

Dr. David Spoon:

I repent.

Dr. David Spoon:

But it turns out that Scripture teaches that that is not allowed.

Dr. David Spoon:

The way that people try to game the system.

Dr. David Spoon:

Are there deathbed confessions?

Dr. David Spoon:

Absolutely.

Dr. David Spoon:

Are there repentances moments before death?

Dr. David Spoon:

Look at the thief on the cross.

Dr. David Spoon:

Yes, but somebody who's trying to game the system, try to manipulate, be a little smarter than God and all of his kids by having as much fun as they want, which they think is fun, which is really bondage.

Dr. David Spoon:

And then at the very end, just pull the trigger and say, I'm sorry.

Dr. David Spoon:

I got a message for every person that thinks that's going to happen.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wrong.

Dr. David Spoon:

That is not going to happen.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus gave this person, this, this group as well, a time to repent.

Dr. David Spoon:

He says they gave her time to repent.

Dr. David Spoon:

He gave her the time.

Dr. David Spoon:

When that time buzzer goes off, it's too late.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you're sitting here thinking, can you back that up somewhere else?

Dr. David Spoon:

I certainly can.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you will simply look at the book of Hebrews, where even Cain, right, even Cain sought a certain sense of repentance.

Dr. David Spoon:

And these people that seek this repentance, and Esau, most specifically Esau sought repentance with tears, the Bible says, but could not find it.

Dr. David Spoon:

That means he was looking for it, but God did not grant it.

Dr. David Spoon:

So this idea that we can sin our brains out and not have an issue or a problem is a lie.

Dr. David Spoon:

And just to use Esau and this right here, right, this is Jezebel.

Dr. David Spoon:

She's like, I gave her time.

Dr. David Spoon:

I gave her time.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's what's going on.

Dr. David Spoon:

There is an amount of time that the Lord gives people to respond.

Dr. David Spoon:

And guess what?

Dr. David Spoon:

After that, time's up.

Dr. David Spoon:

Time's up.

Dr. David Spoon:

Hey, when Jesus comes back too late, I'm going to get saved.

Dr. David Spoon:

As soon as he comes back, I'm going to get saved one millisecond before by saying, sorry.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wrong.

Dr. David Spoon:

When Jesus comes, it's not even in the blink of an eye or in the wink of an eye, but in the twinkle of an eye, which is a thousand times faster than a blink.

Dr. David Spoon:

And when Jesus comes, boom, over, done.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's why the Bible says, now is the time.

Dr. David Spoon:

Today is the day of salvation.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's why it says that.

Dr. David Spoon:

So this idea that you can game the system.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you're out there and you're one of those people, you're wrong.

Dr. David Spoon:

And if you keep it up, you're going to go to hell, period.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because we have not responded to the call of the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

So Jesus, he doesn't pull punches.

Dr. David Spoon:

And by the way, we're going to see something.

Dr. David Spoon:

Some of you are going to just.

Dr. David Spoon:

Absolutely.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm expecting multiple emails of people very mad at me here.

Dr. David Spoon:

He goes.

Dr. David Spoon:

He goes, I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality.

Dr. David Spoon:

She did not repent.

Dr. David Spoon:

Indeed, I will cast her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation.

Dr. David Spoon:

That in and of itself probably is not a marker for the tribulation element that we will discuss later on as we get deeper in.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus goes, unless they repent of their deeds, they're going to be cast out.

Dr. David Spoon:

Look at what he says in verse 23.

Dr. David Spoon:

For all those people that say Jesus doesn't support the death penalty.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wrong again.

Dr. David Spoon:

Not only does he support it quite clearly in the gospel of Mark three times, listen to what he says in verse 23 of Revelation chapter 2.

Dr. David Spoon:

For those that say that verse 23, this is Jesus talking, I will kill her children with death.

Dr. David Spoon:

What?

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus would never do that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, then tell Jesus to get out of Revelation 2.

Dr. David Spoon:

23.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just tell him to get out.

Dr. David Spoon:

You can't be there, Jesus.

Dr. David Spoon:

That can't be you.

Dr. David Spoon:

Got a message for you.

Dr. David Spoon:

Wrong.

Dr. David Spoon:

Got a message for you.

Dr. David Spoon:

When Jesus pointed out that a person.

Dr. David Spoon:

When you get into the Gospel of Mark, we're going to get into this teaching and people are going to get just blown out.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus talked about people to the Pharisees, saying, you've changed the laws.

Dr. David Spoon:

You don't.

Dr. David Spoon:

It says, honor your father or mother.

Dr. David Spoon:

And then he says, and you don't do that.

Dr. David Spoon:

And in the same breath he said, and it says, those who are wicked or treat their parents terribly, they're worthy of death.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus quoted that in the same line, in the same sentence.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus said, they're worthy of death.

Dr. David Spoon:

People are like, what?

Dr. David Spoon:

Yeah, that's what Jesus said.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus said, if you offend a little one, better for a millstone to be thrown around you and you'd be thrown into the sea.

Dr. David Spoon:

Well, Jesus would never say anything about death and people dying.

Dr. David Spoon:

Verse 23, I will kill her children with death.

Dr. David Spoon:

And you're thinking, that's not the Jesus I know.

Dr. David Spoon:

Well, then you should get to know Jesus.

Dr. David Spoon:

The Bible Jesus, not the worldly Jesus.

Dr. David Spoon:

Remember 2nd Corinthians 11, 4.

Dr. David Spoon:

If we come preaching a different Gospel.

Dr. David Spoon:

If we come preaching another Jesus.

Dr. David Spoon:

What, there's other Jesuses?

Dr. David Spoon:

Yes.

Dr. David Spoon:

Dave, stop eating prickly pearl cactus.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, Let me tell you what Jesus says on the rest of this.

Dr. David Spoon:

I will kill her children with death and all the churches shall know that I am he who searches the minds and the hearts.

Dr. David Spoon:

You want to know why Jesus lays it down this way?

Dr. David Spoon:

You want to know why he makes that declaration?

Dr. David Spoon:

This is Jesus after he's raised from the dead in his post resurrection magnificent glory manifested to John.

Dr. David Spoon:

And he says, everybody's gonna know.

Dr. David Spoon:

Everybody's gonna know that I am the One and I search the minds and the hearts.

Dr. David Spoon:

Everybody's gonna know that Jesus knows every single thing that goes on inside of us in the thinking, in the feeling and in the process.

Dr. David Spoon:

I know that many people are saying, but wait, but wait, Dave, what if there's repentance?

Dr. David Spoon:

Then that's the difference.

Dr. David Spoon:

In fact, repentance is the message Jesus taught first in Matthew chapter four, before he taught anything else.

Dr. David Spoon:

He taught, repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.

Dr. David Spoon:

John the Baptist taught, repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.

Dr. David Spoon:

Peter in his first message taught the people, repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.

Dr. David Spoon:

If there is genuine repentance, if there is turning towards the Lord, the Lord's arms are wide open.

Dr. David Spoon:

You know the story on the prodigal.

Dr. David Spoon:

I was praying and talking to the Lord and thinking about some of the things that political religious leaders say which are ridiculous and stupid at the same time.

Dr. David Spoon:

And just sitting there thinking, I just don't get it.

Dr. David Spoon:

And the Lord made it clear, hey, you know when the prodigal got restored by the Father, when he came to his senses and returned home, if he had stayed away from the Father, he would not have been restored.

Dr. David Spoon:

But he repented.

Dr. David Spoon:

He came to his senses.

Dr. David Spoon:

He even made up a speech saying, I'm an idiot, that repentance is a requirement.

Dr. David Spoon:

This idea that God doesn't require that is absurd since it's the first.

Dr. David Spoon:

You think people all they're saying, well, you think if Jesus spoke about this more than anything else, he spoke about sin twice as much as he spoke about love.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm just curious how people deal with that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Two times as much, two and a half times more than the poor.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm just curious how people deal with that.

Dr. David Spoon:

And his first message was repented.

Dr. David Spoon:

Maybe this image that we talked about yesterday of God the Father needs to also be imputed to Jesus Christ in the image we have of Him.

Dr. David Spoon:

This image of Jesus just being just.

Dr. David Spoon:

Dude, who Just smokes a doobie and gives a peace sign to everybody.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is not a good image of Christ for people to hold.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus is the solution to the problem.

Dr. David Spoon:

But if you reject it, you will be rejected.

Dr. David Spoon:

If you accept it, those arms are open wide.

Dr. David Spoon:

Think of the prodigal.

Dr. David Spoon:

When that decision was made and he came to the father, Jesus tells the story.

Dr. David Spoon:

The father was looking for him.

Dr. David Spoon:

The kid goes into his speech.

Dr. David Spoon:

The father doesn't care.

Dr. David Spoon:

He knows the kid's heart.

Dr. David Spoon:

He knows he's back.

Dr. David Spoon:

He throws his arms around him.

Dr. David Spoon:

He weeps, he sobs.

Dr. David Spoon:

He's so happy.

Dr. David Spoon:

This is what God wants of his kids, turning it back to him.

Dr. David Spoon:

Instead of trying to dictate the terms, instead of trying to dictate to God how it goes.

Dr. David Spoon:

Here's how.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's simple.

Dr. David Spoon:

Ready?

Dr. David Spoon:

Heaven is God's home.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus is God's door.

Dr. David Spoon:

To get into God's home, you want to get into God's home, use God's door.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's Jesus.

Dr. David Spoon:

There it is.

Dr. David Spoon:

There it is.

Dr. David Spoon:

There's nothing else.

Dr. David Spoon:

Jesus even said, I'm the door.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just think about the simplicity of that.

Dr. David Spoon:

But to reject it is to reject the solution that God has granted.

Dr. David Spoon:

Then you're on your own.

Dr. David Spoon:

You're just going to have to.

Dr. David Spoon:

Dave, you got to be nicer.

Dr. David Spoon:

If I didn't share it, then I would not be loving people.

Dr. David Spoon:

When we don't share because we're afraid we're going to offend them.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're not loving them.

Dr. David Spoon:

Oh, don't worry about that hot stove, Little Johnny.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just put your face right up against it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Let's see what happens.

Dr. David Spoon:

Yeah.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's not the way you love a kid, is it?

Dr. David Spoon:

Don't touch that stove.

Dr. David Spoon:

You touch that stove, I'll smack you in the head.

Dr. David Spoon:

You want to know why?

Dr. David Spoon:

Because it will hurt you.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's lovin em.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's a mean way to say it.

Dr. David Spoon:

Too bad.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'd rather say that and not have the kid have a burn.

Dr. David Spoon:

Hello.

Dr. David Spoon:

That doesn't seem like it's rocket scientist stuff to me, anyway.

Dr. David Spoon:

Okay, folks, that's right.

Dr. David Spoon:

You better hope the rest of us gets nice.

Dr. David Spoon:

I could be like this all day long.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're taking our break now.

Dr. David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Dr. David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

Dr. David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Dr. David Spoon:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Dr. David Spoon:

So you know what David did?

Dr. David Spoon:

He asked God again.

Dr. David Spoon:

And how did God answer?

Dr. David Spoon:

He answered him.

Dr. David Spoon:

God didn't go, oh, you asked me twice.

Dr. David Spoon:

Strike you with lightning.

Dr. David Spoon:

Strike you with lightning.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's like, that's not how this works.

Dr. David Spoon:

So the scripture says in 1st Samuel 23:4, go check out your Bible.

Dr. David Spoon:

Once again, David inquired of the Lord and the Lord answered him.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's like, go, go, go, go do your thing.

Dr. David Spoon:

Go, go, go, go.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's okay to inquire more than once, even if there's an answer that you've got.

Dr. David Spoon:

Because sometimes we look for reassurance and clarity and for comfort and from eliminating hearing mistakes.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're not trying to irritate God.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're not trying to fight against his will.

Dr. David Spoon:

We're not trying to be disobedient.

Dr. David Spoon:

The Lord knows that.

Dr. David Spoon:

See, I think what happens is we'll do something.

Dr. David Spoon:

It'll be sincere action.

Dr. David Spoon:

Then somebody else may hear about it, or you mention somebody and the way they interpret it is different than the way God interprets it.

Dr. David Spoon:

When I come before the Lord and he says, go do this, and I come before the Lord again and do one of those are you sure?

Dr. David Spoon:

You know, kind of thing.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's not me trying to be bad.

Dr. David Spoon:

And this is the same kind of thing that happens when you get into the people that, you know, one group in Christianity is like, you know, you can't.

Dr. David Spoon:

You can't ask for signs and ask for signs at all because it shows that you either have no faith or you don't believe Jesus is Messiah.

Dr. David Spoon:

Well, first of all, that's not true because God gave signs all the way from Genesis to Revelation.

Dr. David Spoon:

So that's just silly.

Dr. David Spoon:

The other part of that is people asking for signs like Gideon were just like, going, okay, I'm just trying not to mess this up, right?

Dr. David Spoon:

What Jesus rebuked was the people asking for a sign to prove he was the Messiah.

Dr. David Spoon:

That's substantially different than asking God.

Dr. David Spoon:

I just need to know I'm not doing this dumb, right?

Dr. David Spoon:

I mean, that's why what we do is we kind of pour into these rules and these reasonings and it's like, you know what?

Dr. David Spoon:

Don't do that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Come before the Lord.

Dr. David Spoon:

Be yourself.

Dr. David Spoon:

You know, you don't have to.

Dr. David Spoon:

You don't have to posture before God.

Dr. David Spoon:

He already knows.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's like, you know, I just want you to know I'm not going to look up right now.

Dr. David Spoon:

Now, if you really feel that way, that's fair, but don't do that because you're trying to impress God, because he knows.

Dr. David Spoon:

Knows you're trying to impress Him.

Dr. David Spoon:

So then don't do that.

Dr. David Spoon:

Just tell him what's going on.

Dr. David Spoon:

Share your heart, share your feelings.

Dr. David Spoon:

One of the things that I see about prayer, and this is a true statement, some people say, well, people pray to get things changed.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's maybe better to say that we pray so that God changes us.

Dr. David Spoon:

That might be more accurate, so that we get into a surrender or a yielded position.

Dr. David Spoon:

It's not that you can't have faith, not you can't pray, but you.

Dr. David Spoon:

What I'm talking about is coming and yielding and going.

Dr. David Spoon:

I'm just trying to get the clarity.

Dr. David Spoon:

I want to know what I'm doing is what you want to do.

Dr. David Spoon:

I think it's a very important element for people who are seeking wisdom just to be as earnest and honest as possible.

Dr. David Spoon:

If the Lord grants you a sign.

Dr. David Spoon:

The bigger problem about that is most of the time, like for Israel, they didn't believe it anyway.

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
