The narrative begins with Spoon’s characteristic blend of humor and authenticity, inviting listeners to join him on an introspective journey. He reflects on his childhood within a Jewish family, marked by complexities in familial relationships and the challenges of growing up with a distant father. David Spoon:While it is still an important teaching, it also creates some vulnerabilities for me because I'm going to share about my upbringing.
David Spoon:This is not so much a testimony as much as an acknowledgement of the very struggles I had with my parental units.
David Spoon:Next, it's also important to note that while we are learning about who God is, from the moment we surrender our hearts, acknowledging our foolishness and turning our face to Jesus, we also are engaged in a form of warfare.
David Spoon:If the enemy, also known as Satan or the devil, who is the accuser of the brethren, can distort our perception of God, he will.
David Spoon:And finally, the key to this lesson is understanding that God's truth prevails.
David Spoon:Listen against our past, present and even our future.
David Spoon:Often we have emotional baggage and feelings connected to this whole faith process.
David Spoon:But ironically, that's actually a contradiction in terms because feelings and emotional baggage are not faith.
David Spoon:What we need to do is utilize God's truth to separate ourselves from the darker moments and recognize that in Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world, there is no darkness, but only light and love.

David Spoon:So we are going to talk to our very own Jamming Jacob, who is also the Mighty Mouse of professional radio.
David Spoon:Our very own jamming Jacob.
David Spoon:Jammin Jagis.
David Spoon:Jammin Jacob is the David Spoon Experience professional radio?

David Spoon:Here I come to save the day.
David Spoon:Good job, Mighty Mouse of professional radio.
David Spoon:Bottom line is, it's just radio, and we just want to know how you're doing.
David Spoon:That's all right.
David Spoon:You're thinking, wow, is that important?

David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Talking to Jammin Jacob is like waking up and feeling like you got a great night's sleep.
Jacob:Thank you, David.
Jacob:Happy Wednesday.
David Spoon:Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.
David Spoon:All going well?
David Spoon:All things good?
Jacob:Yes.
Jacob:I did get a great night's sleep last night.
David Spoon:Oh, that's very, very good.
David Spoon:I would check and say the same, but little birdie had a little bit of a tummy ache and Noelle was really exhausted because Noelle's in the.
David Spoon:She's in the season now, so remember, she's a floral manager.
David Spoon:Right, Tom.
David Spoon:Dumb.
David Spoon:So the last time she was a floor manager in Tom Thumb at the store in Rowlett, she did over a million dollars in business in that year.
David Spoon:Okay, so just to give you an idea, think about that.
David Spoon:So you're talking about, what, like, 80 plus grand a month, right?
David Spoon:Well, not exactly.
David Spoon:It's more like 60, except for on Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
David Spoon:Yikes.
David Spoon:So she's doing her whole buildup, 68 plus hours this week, next week, and the follow all the way up to.
David Spoon:Yeah, right.
Jacob:It's starting to warm up a little bit.
Jacob:We're getting close to spring.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:So now whenever anything happens, I get up so that she can keep sleeping and burt was like, hey, ruff, ruff, ruff.
David Spoon:My stomach hurts.
David Spoon:Ruff, ruff.
David Spoon:So I had to get up at 1 in the morning and at 3 in the morning.
David Spoon:But that's not the point.
David Spoon:The point is, at least she got to sleep.
David Spoon:That's the good part.
David Spoon:All right, here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:The bottom line is, you know why.
David Spoon:You can call us, you know why, you can text us, you know why.
David Spoon:You can email us.
David Spoon:You know why?
David Spoon:It gets super simple.
David Spoon:If you've got a praise report, bring it.
David Spoon:We want to hear it.
David Spoon:If you've got a prayer request, bring it.
David Spoon:We want to hear it because we want to join you in it.
David Spoon:It's just that simple.
David Spoon:If you've got something you want to share, bring it.
David Spoon:If you've got an answer to trivia.
David Spoon:Ooh, got an answer to trivia?
David Spoon:Let's see if you got this one.
David Spoon:Here we go.
David Spoon:What animal did Samson use to set the Philistines fields on fire?
David Spoon:On fire.
David Spoon:What animals did Samson use to set the Philistine fields on fire?
David Spoon:Was it lions, tigers, bears or foxes?
David Spoon:Lions, tigers, bears or foxes.
David Spoon:What animal did Samson use to set the Philistines field on fire?
David Spoon:Your answer is In Judges, chapter 15, verses 3 through 5.
David Spoon:Good catch, Al.
David Spoon:Judges 15, 3, 5.
David Spoon:What animals did Samson use to set the Philistines field on fire?
David Spoon:Was it lions, tigers or bears or foxes?
David Spoon:That's the question.
David Spoon:If you think you know the answer, you can reach out to us.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:You can send an email davidemusincreased.org we do have somebody on the line.
David Spoon:Is that correct?
David Spoon:Do they want to answer the trivia question?
David Spoon:They do.
David Spoon:Let's send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Caller:What TikTok killed a radio star?
Caller:This is your little brother.
David Spoon:What's going on, little brother?
David Spoon:It's a good call because I got Samson as the trivia question.
David Spoon:See, that's good timing.
David Spoon:All right, let me hit you up on the question, then.
David Spoon:Tell me what's happening.
David Spoon:Let's go first on the question.
David Spoon:What animals did Samson use to set the Philistines field on fire?
David Spoon:Was it lions, tigers and bears or foxes?
Caller:I think it wasn't the CNN or msnbc.
Caller:I'll go with the fox.
David Spoon:That is correct, Amundo.
David Spoon:But I want to give credit to Al, because I did lions and tigers and bears.
David Spoon:And then I was going to say, oh, my But I had to insert foxes.
David Spoon:So lions and tigers and bears.
David Spoon:Oh, my.
David Spoon:You know, from the other.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:That's from the wizard of Oz.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Anyhow, what's happening, brother?
David Spoon:Good job on that, Triv.
David Spoon:What's taking place with you?
Caller:Lord is good and just.
Caller:Yeah.
Caller:Thanking for his covering and his shalom on our life.
David Spoon:So how's your wife feeling?
Caller:Oh, she's getting better.
Caller:Another day I took her to the hospital, to her doctor and discovered that she had some ear infection as well.
Caller:So she put her on antibiotics.
Caller:So, like within next day she started feeling better, so.
David Spoon:Oh, good.
Caller:Improving.
David Spoon:That's great.
David Spoon:That's great news.
David Spoon:Great news.
David Spoon:I got an ear.
David Spoon:When I got an ear infection, I stopped, stood up and I fell straight down.
David Spoon:I lost my equilibrium.
David Spoon:It was so weird.
David Spoon:It was just like, bam.
David Spoon:Like, oh, that's not good.
Caller:Yeah, well, it was causing too much headache to her.
Caller:On and off.
Caller:Yeah.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:All right, well, I'm going to pray over your blessing.
David Spoon:Anything in particular do you want to?
David Spoon:Just ask the Lord to bless you.
Caller:Pray for the health blessing and also the same blessing that you are seeking.
David Spoon:Okay, you got it.
David Spoon:I know what you're saying.
David Spoon:Let's do it.
David Spoon:Let's pray.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now.
David Spoon:We lift up our brother Samson.
David Spoon:We thank you for him.
David Spoon:We ask you to bless him.
David Spoon:We ask you to encourage him.
David Spoon:Lift him and fill his heart full of joy and full of your presence and anointing.
David Spoon:Fill him so much with you.
David Spoon:He just recognizes everything else is reduced in size because nothing compares to you.
David Spoon:Bless him in that capacity.
David Spoon:Lord, he needs some openings to take place from a financial aspect.
David Spoon:And he needs some good health situations for different elements.
David Spoon:And we are asking not just for your healing power and there would be prosperousness in the healing realm, but in his actual financial situation that you would open up doors for him and even enable him to give so that in that giving he can just be blessed because he's able to.
David Spoon:Father, we ask you to pour it out upon him and let him testify to it.
David Spoon:A special blessing for him and let him know it's from you.
David Spoon:We lift up our brethren.
David Spoon:We ask for your favor in his life.
David Spoon:In Jesus name.
David Spoon:Amen and Amen.
Caller:Amen.
Caller:I have a quick question for you.
Caller:You probably know that which biblical character was the fastest runner in the race?
David Spoon:I know that answer, but I'm going to let you tell us because I feel like you saying it is better.
David Spoon:And then if you get buzzed, I don't have to get buzzed on it.
David Spoon:Who was It.
Caller:I think it was Adam because he was the first in the human race.
David Spoon:He was the first in the human race.
David Spoon:That is correct.
David Spoon:Very good, brother.
Caller:Thank you, brother.
Caller:Praying for you and your family.
David Spoon:Thank you, bro.
Caller:Sorry.
Caller:What's the update of your daughter that concerned that was there that we prayed for?
David Spoon:We're still waiting.
David Spoon:Believe it or not, they were supposed to answer her two weeks ago.
David Spoon:I talked to her just two days ago, and she's like, they're still waiting.
David Spoon:And I'm like, okay, well, don't.
David Spoon:Just stay steady.
David Spoon:But we believe that this stay angel situation is gonna work in her favor.
David Spoon:Initially they said not a chance.
David Spoon:Now they're saying it's like a 95% they will.
David Spoon:So we're just waiting.
Caller:It will be 100%.
Caller:In Jesus name.
David Spoon:In Jesus name.
David Spoon:I'm with you in that a hundredfold.
David Spoon:All right, Michael.
Caller:Thank you, brother.
David Spoon:God bless you.
Caller:God bless you too.
Caller:Bye bye.
David Spoon:Bye bye.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:So there is so much to cover.
David Spoon:And I gotta be really careful how I cover this.
David Spoon:Cause I have to also.
David Spoon:I get vulnerable when I talk to you.
David Spoon:Gu.
David Spoon:We're gonna do our DNA, okay?
David Spoon:And then I'm gonna open up a little.
David Spoon:So I want you to be prepared for that.
David Spoon:It's gonna be a little different than norm, which is like the norm.
David Spoon:Because everything we do is different than whatever.
David Spoon:We don't even have a norm.
David Spoon:In fact, I don't think that we even know a norm.
David Spoon:Anyway.
David Spoon:Let's do DNA.
Jacob:It.
Jacob:Being a normal is the norm.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:Abnormal is the norm.
David Spoon:Or you go back to young Frankenstein.
David Spoon:What's the brain's name?
David Spoon:Abby.
David Spoon:Abby something.
David Spoon:Abby what?
David Spoon:Abby normal.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Anyway, so here we go.
David Spoon:D.
David Spoon:Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:Because if you don't, you're hurting yourself.
David Spoon:Why would you do that?
David Spoon:Don't.
David Spoon:I mean, spend time with the Lord.
David Spoon:He'll help you in everything.
David Spoon:In all of it.
David Spoon:All of it.
David Spoon:There's nothing that does not get resolved when God is at the center.
David Spoon:That's it.
David Spoon:Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
David Spoon:That's what we want in our lives.
David Spoon:That's what Jesus taught us.
David Spoon:To pray, by the way.
David Spoon:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:Don't be ashamed of what he had to say.
David Spoon:Jesus is called the Word of God.
David Spoon:In the beginning was the Word.
David Spoon:The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
David Spoon:That's John 1:1 connecting Genesis 1:1.
David Spoon:In the beginning, God and then Connecting everything in the New Testament, you just see it as the very last two verses in the new New Testament.
David Spoon:Talk about Jesus.
David Spoon:It's like it's all connected to Jesus.
David Spoon:Never be ashamed of what he had to say.
David Spoon:Never be ashamed of his truth.
David Spoon:Never be ashamed of his declarations or his works.
David Spoon:And when they try to shame you or get you, just do this.
David Spoon:I don't receive it.
David Spoon:I know.
David Spoon:That's crazy.
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon:Yeah, don't receive it.
David Spoon:Don't let it be put on you.
David Spoon:Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:God created the universe.
David Spoon:The dude can write a book.
David Spoon:Thanks.
David Spoon:And then a.
David Spoon:Always be ready.
Jacob:To serve.
David Spoon:Just ready to go, man.
David Spoon:Ready to do it right now, wherever you are.
David Spoon:If somebody sends you a text, an email, somebody calls you, something's going on, somebody needs your help.
David Spoon:Ready to be the vehicle of God's grace and mercy.
David Spoon:That grace and mercy does not mean that you never say anything tough.
David Spoon:It's just being a vehicle of God's grace and mercy.
David Spoon:You live for him.
David Spoon:In fact, in one portion, Paul says, in my life, which is Christ.
David Spoon:And it's like, that's our life.
David Spoon:So always ready to honor him, to say, do be whatever.
David Spoon:Here am I, Lord.
David Spoon:D Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:And never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:A.
David Spoon:Always be ready to serve.
David Spoon:Okay, folks, let's just get into it.
David Spoon:So many people know that I was born and raised in a Jewish household.
David Spoon:And in my upbringing, there was a lot of.
David Spoon:What's the word I'm looking for?
David Spoon:Drug use.
David Spoon:When I became a teenager.
David Spoon:So you guys have heard me talk about that.
David Spoon:And in my family, it was a little bit different because my dad and my family that I came from.
David Spoon:Loaded.
David Spoon:If you ever heard Ron White do his commercial or do his routine, it's like they were loaded.
David Spoon: Our family came in: David Spoon:They built hospitals, they built office buildings, they built complexes.
David Spoon:I mean, we're talking about serious, serious construction.
David Spoon:Serious, serious stuff.
David Spoon:And so that's the kind of family I grew up in, was very, very wealthy.
David Spoon:And unfortunately, that in our particular family, it was not filled with a high level of morality.
David Spoon:While they were very committed to the Jewish culture, they were not necessarily committed to the biblical commands of being faithful.
David Spoon:And my father had many people in his life that were beyond my mom on a regular basis, kind of rotating him in and out.
David Spoon:So when I grew up, my dad had already disconnected from the family.
David Spoon:That's what I grew up with.
David Spoon:So it's a very fair.
David Spoon:It's not even accusatory.
David Spoon:And yes, I prayed for my father a thousand times.
David Spoon:Yes, we talked 10,000 times.
David Spoon:I had very limited father touch.
David Spoon:I had very little connection to my dad as I was growing up.
David Spoon:Is that why I got involved in drugs?
David Spoon:I have no idea.
David Spoon:But I had limited contact.
David Spoon:I had limited exposure to my dad, and I did not have limited exposure to my mom.
David Spoon:She was phenomenal.
David Spoon:She was like, I still think she's one of the greatest moms ever.
David Spoon:But my dad was very absent.
David Spoon:So when I became a Christian and got my introduction to Christianity, and here was my introduction when my brother had talked to me five, six, seven days in a row, couple hours every night, you know, going on and going on.
David Spoon:And in my testimony, you find out that one time he brings up comic books.
David Spoon:Good and evil.
David Spoon:The most powerful, the most evil kind of resonated with me.
David Spoon:I'm like, all right, I'm into that.
David Spoon:I can go with that.
David Spoon:So we go over to his house and he goes through the four spiritual laws.
David Spoon:For those that don't know, he goes through the Romans road.
David Spoon:He goes through all the basics.
David Spoon:And then it ultimately comes down for me is like the first verse that gets into the system is the John 3:16.
David Spoon:For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
David Spoon:Okay, that's awesome.
David Spoon:Except for me, understanding God as a father made my Christianity challenging because my dad was not close.
David Spoon:And that impacted how I perceived and received God as father.
David Spoon:There was nothing that anybody could say about that.
David Spoon:You can't change it.
David Spoon:God changed that.
David Spoon:He became my daddy after I went through some of this process.
David Spoon:But in the introduction part, when God is declared as the Father and Jesus is the Son, my brain didn't associate that on a great level.
David Spoon:It associated that on a disappointing level.
David Spoon:So that's my introduction to Christianity.
David Spoon:Forget even the bad stuff at the church, which was bad by itself.
David Spoon:I'm talking about at the very core, at the very beginning.
David Spoon:I couldn't make the connections because my dad wasn't there for me as a dad.
David Spoon:And then seeing God is a father seemed bizarre.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Okay, hold that thought.
David Spoon:We'll take a short break.
David Spoon:There's a lot to cover.
David Spoon:Let's take a short break and then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
Ad:You may be from a Baptist background, a Pentecostal background, a non denominational background.
Ad:David's Spoon has that too.
Ad:You may be from the Church of Christ Presbyterian Methodist Church of God or some other denomination, but if you're looking for a show that's Bible based, spirit led and a bit nutty, then give David a listen for a while.
Ad:If you like it, great.
Ad:If not, no worries.
Ad:The David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:What is the David Spoon experience?
Guest:Can I blow your mind?
Guest:You know, I did this with you before, but on a different text.
David Spoon:I love this text.
Guest:You will love this text because you.
David Spoon:And I are sci fi people.
Guest:You'll love this.
Guest:I mean, this is one of those.
David Spoon:Oh, goodness gracious, it's so good.
Guest: First Samuel: Guest: First Samuel: David Spoon:Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
David Spoon: First Samuel: Guest:Then David said, o Lord God of Israel, your servant has heard for certain that Saul is seeking to come to destroy the city on my account.
Guest:Will the men of Keilah surrender me into his hand?
Guest:Will Saul come down just as your servant has heard?
Guest:O Lord God of Israel, I pray tell your servant.
Guest:And the Lord said, he will come down.
Guest:Then David said, will the men surrender me and my men to the hand of Saul?
Guest:And the Lord said, they will surrender you.
Guest:I love this portion.
Guest:Because people, we think in these boxes and we force God into our theology and say he must conform here, which is just insanity by itself.
Guest:Here's a situation where David hears that Saul is coming down to try and get him, and he's asking, will the people of the city surrender me?
Guest:I've helped them, I've defended them, I've given them some deliverance.
Guest:Is Saul going to come in and change their mind and they're going to give me up?
Guest:And the Lord says, yeah, that's going to happen.
Guest:Now if you read the rest of the passage in 1st Samuel 23, David leaves.
Guest:So he is not surrendered to Saul by the men of the city.
Guest:But what I want you to catch is this.
Guest:God knew what the outcome was going to be if David stayed and what the outcome was going to be if David left.
Guest:In other words, God knew the alternate universe or the alternate pathway that was taking place.
Guest:We've talked about this before.
Guest:It's one of those cool thoughts where we don't think of it in these terms.
Guest:But remember, David says to God, hey, are they going to give me up?
Guest:And the Lord's like, yeah, they're going.
David Spoon:To give you up.
Guest:That's what's going to happen.
Guest:So you need to make a decision and go a different direction so we can have a different outcome.
Guest:And it's like God knew what the outcome was if they gave him up.
Guest:And God knew what the outcome was if he left.
Guest:God knew what it would be if he went left or right.
Guest:If we went west, east, north or south.
Guest:God knew what the outcome was going to be, no matter what.
Guest:Because God is omniscient.
Guest:He knows all things, which means he knows every alternate route.
Another Caller:You're here when I need you the most.
Another Caller:When I need you the most.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Trying to make sure everybody keeps their Bible skills sharp.
David Spoon:How many chapters Does Micah have?
David Spoon:3, 5, 7, or 9.
David Spoon:How many chapters does the book of Micah have?
David Spoon:3, 5,.
David Spoon:7, or 9.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or send an email davidemousincrease.org how many chapters does Micah have?
David Spoon:Is it 3, 5, 7, or nine?
David Spoon:That's the question.
David Spoon:What we're going to do is go right back into this teaching.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Don't worry about calling and interrupting or whatever the case may be, because this is a story I know pretty well.
David Spoon:That's kind of a nice way to say it.
David Spoon:Okay, well, it's my story, so I should probably know it.
David Spoon:So John 3:16.
David Spoon:Can't beat that.
David Spoon:For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
David Spoon:If you want the King James.
David Spoon:For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever should believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life.
David Spoon:It's very straightforward.
David Spoon:You have to continually believe.
David Spoon:You can't believe for one second, then never believe again.
David Spoon:That's not what it says.
David Spoon:It says continually believe.
David Spoon:The grace doesn't change.
David Spoon:Your belief has to stay consistent and the grace stays consistent.
David Spoon:It's pretty straightforward there.
David Spoon:And if you don't continue to believe, you never really believed in the first place.
David Spoon:But backing that up, when I said yes to Christianity and it was God is the Father, I was having some issues.
David Spoon:That doesn't mean that it's like you might think, well, you can do this.
David Spoon:Stop.
David Spoon:I was having issues.
David Spoon:I'm not talking about any of that other stuff and why I was having issues is simple.
David Spoon:And I'm gonna speak right to it without going down that thing.
David Spoon:Our image of God is tied to earthly people.
David Spoon:I'm just going to say that people are like, oh, no, it's not.
David Spoon:Yes, it is.
David Spoon:That doesn't mean it's the right image.
David Spoon:I'm just simply saying for many people who have authority figures in their lives, God's image is tied to that.
David Spoon:That's not even bizarre.
David Spoon:That's like, yep, that makes sense.
David Spoon:It can be fathers, by the way.
David Spoon:It can be mothers.
David Spoon:Nobody's saying it's right or wrong.
David Spoon:Just I'm telling you what people do.
David Spoon:It can be pastors, it can be other authority figures.
David Spoon:It could be teachers, it could be scholars.
David Spoon:It could be many things.
David Spoon:It could be siblings.
David Spoon:It could be any of that.
David Spoon:That's not the issue.
David Spoon:Again, the issue is here.
David Spoon:As I'm developing in my Christianity and going forward, I'm finding out that there's a struggle, and the struggle is getting the association between God as my Father and my actual father.
David Spoon:And I'm going to read a verse, and this will make you.
David Spoon:This will help you understand exactly where I'm going with this.
David Spoon: John: David Spoon:The thief comes only that he might steal and kill and destroy.
David Spoon:I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.
David Spoon:Jesus is talking about the thief, making reference to Satan, who, by the way, operates in stealth.
David Spoon:A thief operates in stealth.
David Spoon:All you got to do is think for a second.
David Spoon:We had the stealth fighter.
David Spoon:What did the stealth fighter avoid?
David Spoon:It avoided radar.
David Spoon:That's why it was a stealth fighter.
David Spoon:That means it was outside of the radar.
David Spoon:Well, that's how Satan operates outside of the radar.
David Spoon:And he comes that he can steal, that he can kill, and that he can destroy.
David Spoon:He's doing whatever he can to muck it up.
David Spoon:That's his position.
David Spoon:That's what he's doing.
David Spoon:And so as I moved forward in my faith and in my Christian positioning, those challenges came to the forefront.
David Spoon:And what was critical.
David Spoon:Listen to what I'm going to say.
David Spoon:This is just going to.
David Spoon:I really want you to hear this.
David Spoon:What was critical for me, what was absolutely essential, was to make the severance, the break the disconnect between my Father and the Heavenly Father in order to understand who God really is.
David Spoon:So what I'm trying to say is that when you're going through that process, it's not a bizarre or anything.
David Spoon:You're going through spiritual warfare.
David Spoon:The enemy is trying to taint the image of God.
David Spoon:Because if the image of God is tainted, your faith is reduced, your approach is reduced, your expectation is reduced, your whole Christian walk is reduced.
David Spoon:And that's what he's trying to do.
David Spoon:And what he was trying to do was merge my dad with our heavenly father.
David Spoon:And what God wants us to do is use biblical truth to give us our understanding or identity of who God is.
David Spoon:That's the big difference.
David Spoon:And what the enemy does is he tries to portray God in all of these different images that are demeaning.
David Spoon:When it turns out as you read the scripture, you find out God is the perfect parent.
David Spoon:The perfect parent not even the way that I would think a perfect parent should be because I'm tainted.
David Spoon:He's the perfect parent that doesn't get driven off the right path by circumstances, by people, by anything else.
David Spoon:He's the perfect parent always.
David Spoon:And as you reveal and you get into the word of God, the truth of God's fatherhood and the truth of his parenting become more and more evident.
David Spoon:And what the enemy tries to do is make every negative connection you have apply to God.
David Spoon:And what we have to do as Bible believing born again Christians, as disconnect the lies with the biblical truth of the fatherhood of God.
David Spoon:And if you have had a father that was distant and then you're having a hard time making the connection, you need to see where the scripture talks about how God promises to always be with us.
David Spoon:Not just in the New Testament, by the way.
David Spoon:So I'm just telling you right now, we're talking the Old Testament too, that God is with us, that he makes the commitment to us, that he wanted to fellowship with us and be a part of everything we do.
David Spoon:And that he loves us and that we don't go through one thing in life that he's not fully aware of.
David Spoon:Hey, guess what?
David Spoon:In my upbringing, that was not the case with me and my dad, but it is the case with me and my heavenly dad.
David Spoon:He knows every single nuance, moment, everything.
David Spoon:He knows when I don't like something.
David Spoon:He knows when I get frustrated.
David Spoon:He knows when I get miffed.
David Spoon:He knows when I want to, you know, scream and yell.
David Spoon:He knows when I want to laugh.
David Spoon:He knows when I'm happy.
David Spoon:He knows when I'm sad.
David Spoon:He knows everything and he loves me through it.
David Spoon:Listen to what Jesus.
David Spoon:This is just blow your mind.
David Spoon:This is some really important stuff for some of you.
David Spoon:Listen.
David Spoon:And Jeanette, I am getting your texts.
David Spoon:Listen.
David Spoon: Jesus said in John: David Spoon:Hold on.
David Spoon:I'm going to, in one verse, destroy every.
David Spoon:I'm going to just unravel every lie that Satan's told about anybody that you've connected to God.
David Spoon:Jesus says this.
David Spoon:I've made them.
David Spoon:Made known to them your name.
David Spoon:And I will continue to do that.
David Spoon:That the love which you have loved me may be in them.
David Spoon:The same love that God the Father has for Jesus is the same love that God the Father has for you.
David Spoon:That the love with which you have loved me may be in them.
David Spoon:What you trying to tell me that God loves me that much?
David Spoon:Yes, that was all part of the mission.
David Spoon:That's all the things that got lost in the garden.
David Spoon:That's what the running away from God's presence did.
David Spoon:It polluted everything.
David Spoon:And Jesus says, I want them to know that the love which you have for me might be in them.
David Spoon:God loves me like he loves Jesus.
David Spoon:Really.
David Spoon:But I'm terrible.
David Spoon:I'm unfaithful.
David Spoon:I have bad words and bad thoughts and bad this and bad this bad.
David Spoon:Ah, but the perfect parent is perfect for his kids.
David Spoon:Listen, this is important for some of you.
David Spoon:You need to seize this truth.
David Spoon:You need to hang on to this.
David Spoon:The devil is the one who's trying to pervert your image of God.
David Spoon:Don't let him.
David Spoon:Don't tie it to authority figures, past or whatever.
David Spoon:Don't tie it to any of that.
David Spoon:Don't do it.
David Spoon:Get the image of God from his words, from the life of Jesus, who's the exact representation.
David Spoon:Get it from the one who says he knows every hair on your head, every number.
David Spoon:I've got a message for you.
David Spoon:I'm not even sure sometimes my dad knew the color of my hair, but my heavenly father knows every single number of the hairs on my head.
David Spoon:That's a dad who loves me.
David Spoon:That's a dad who will never abandon me.
David Spoon:He will never cheat on me.
David Spoon:He will never leave us.
David Spoon:He will never nothing.
David Spoon:Oh, he'll discipline.
David Spoon:Because true love does discipline.
David Spoon:But he does it for my sake, not for pride's sake.
David Spoon:You see that difference right there?
David Spoon:I want you to hear it.
David Spoon:I want you to know it.
David Spoon:The devil is trying to steal the truthful image of God.
David Spoon:You need to use the truth to break the power of the lie and get the right understanding of who your dad is.
David Spoon:Catching that?
David Spoon:Are you catching that?
David Spoon:Wow, that's some serious stuff, isn't it?
David Spoon:Wow, like, mind blowing, right?
David Spoon:Yep, yep.
David Spoon:I told you it'd be a little different.
David Spoon:All right, take a deep breath.
David Spoon:I got another whole thing to go.
David Spoon:On this.
David Spoon:Real quickly.
David Spoon:How many chapters does Micah have?
David Spoon:Is it 3, 5, 7, or 9?
David Spoon:And the answer is 7.
David Spoon:It might have been a while since you've read it.
David Spoon:And if you guessed, that's okay.
David Spoon:The answer is seven.
David Spoon:All right, we'll take a break, and then we'll come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:A hippocrypotamus.
David Spoon:Come on.
Another Caller:Do you love being able to ask questions, comments, or having someone to pray for you?
David Spoon:Do you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a question?
David Spoon:We don't want it to die of loneliness.
David Spoon:We want it to have a chance.
Another Caller:And last but not least, do you love some trivia?
David Spoon:All right, we got our trivia question.

David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:They've been getting older.
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:All I know is I worked out today and I was telling t it was terrible.
David Spoon:You know how you work out and then you come back and you're supposed to feel good or whatever.
David Spoon:That didn't happen.
David Spoon:Just so you can know.
David Spoon:I think the people in the gym were worried that I was gonna keel over.
David Spoon:It's like, oh, what's wrong with that guy?
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's Ka Amen.
David Spoon:770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Texas.
David Spoon:Now.
David Spoon:On the hills or the heels?
David Spoon:I said on the hills.
David Spoon:It was supposed to be on the heels.
David Spoon:That was just so bad.
David Spoon:On the heels of that last trivia question, which I'm not going to repeat, neither are you.
David Spoon:That is that last trivia question.
David Spoon:There is a key there in what this trivia question is.
David Spoon:How about that?
David Spoon: his mother that he had stolen: David Spoon: his mother that he had stolen: David Spoon:Your reference point, Judges 171 2.
David Spoon:So there is a reference point.
David Spoon:Judges 17, 1 2.
David Spoon: d to his Mother he had stolen: David Spoon:Was it David, Micah, Jonah, or Esau?
David Spoon:And it is on the heels of their very last trivia question.
David Spoon:So you should be able to pick that up pretty quickly.
David Spoon:In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.
David Spoon:Here's the deal.
David Spoon:If you can give, that's awesome.
David Spoon:If you can't, that's awesome.
David Spoon:We trust that you will do your best and we will do our best, and we will all be the best before the Lord.
David Spoon:That's all we can ask.
David Spoon:But don't hesitate to check out the website and stuff like that.
David Spoon:There's a lot of cool stuff on there.
David Spoon:Go to hemustincrease.org Prayer request hemosincrease.org Praise report.
David Spoon:He mustincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.
Guest:He must increase.org Confused by what's happening right now.
Guest:He must increase.org he must increase.org.
David Spoon:They'Re moving in herds.
David Spoon:They do move in herds.
David Spoon:Is it true that almost every one of our sound things is a movie?
David Spoon:It sure seems that way, doesn't it?
Jacob:Or a funny commercial.
David Spoon:Yeah, or a funny commercial.
David Spoon:Or a cartoon.
Jacob:Yes, yes, cartoon.
David Spoon:We have some of those cartoons are very important, folks.
David Spoon:I know you don't think so, but you're wrong.
David Spoon:They are very important to some of us.
David Spoon:They're very, very important.
David Spoon:Not to everybody.
David Spoon:Okay?
David Spoon:All right, so your trivia question before we.
David Spoon:I've already told you.
David Spoon: d to his mother he had stolen: David Spoon:Was it David?
David Spoon:Was it Micah?
David Spoon:Was it Jonah?
David Spoon:Or Esau?
David Spoon:On the heels of the previous trivia question.
David Spoon: t you can just look at judges: David Spoon:I do want to do this one little bit on history.
David Spoon:So let's do this.
David Spoon:Lets go live faith in the past.
David Spoon:Let's go live faith in the past.
David Spoon:I can tell I'm in a different kind of mood because everything is like getting to me.
David Spoon:So I can tell I'm opening up myself emotionally because of all these things that I'm looking at.
David Spoon: For example, on this day in: David Spoon: ey movies that were made from: David Spoon:These movies were made before people became a bunch of whining babies.
David Spoon:You can't tell me that's not funny.
David Spoon:I don't care what anybody's.
David Spoon:That's hilarious.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Because all these like, this could offend people.
David Spoon:Blah, blah, blah.
David Spoon:And it's like.
Jacob:And Disney will eventually do a live action remake because they're doing them with all the movies.
Jacob:All they do is Lion King doing it.
Jacob:Snow White.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:And they're, they're ruining everybody.
David Spoon:But I think that thing for Babylon B was cool.
David Spoon:Classic.
David Spoon:This was before we were a bunch of whiny babies.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Anyway, I just think that's hilarious.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:The other thing I thought was fascinating, this is, I think, interesting.
David Spoon: On this day in: David Spoon:People did not know that before it Was a crank, wasn't a gas thing.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Other couple things.
David Spoon:National Corn Chip Day.
David Spoon:Okay, that's good, right?
David Spoon:We like that.
David Spoon:National Puzzle Day.
David Spoon:On my kitchen table right now is the puzzle that September and Noelle and her dad are working on is a 2,000 piece puzzle.
David Spoon:And they've got about 300 pieces done.
David Spoon:So the entire table is unusable.
David Spoon:They left.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon: p to Noel to finish the other: Jacob:So how long has it been there on the table?
David Spoon:Well, okay, so they've been gone a while.
David Spoon:I'm saying maybe sometime in April or May.
David Spoon:I'll get the table back.
David Spoon:Maybe.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:And then I thought this was hilarious, but you have to understand why it's funny.
David Spoon:It's Curmudgeon's Day.
David Spoon:Curmudgeon is a cantankerous, difficult, bad tempered person who's usually an older man.
David Spoon:This really comes out of a direct connection to WC Fields.
David Spoon:Okay, so those that don't know WC Fields, I'll give you this one thing and you'll get it.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:Ready.
David Spoon:Get away from me, kid.
David Spoon:You bother me.
David Spoon:Okay, that's great.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Your trivia question, straightforward.
David Spoon:If you want to answer it, you can call.
David Spoon:If not, I'm going to go back into it.
David Spoon: d to his mother he had stolen: David Spoon:David, Micah, Jonah, or Esau.
David Spoon:Judges 17:1 2 is your one opportunity to get in there.
David Spoon:So let's get back to this element in regards to what I'm talking to.
David Spoon:And as you can tell, I'm kind of moving all over the place.
David Spoon:And I'm doing it on purpose to kind of protect myself, but also to try and be vulnerable for all you and make sure that we all kind of get what's going on.
David Spoon:Basically my upbringing was a very limited father touch.
David Spoon:So in my introduction to Christianity, I had some difficulty understanding God as a father.
David Spoon:Our image of God is often tied, if not always tied, to earthly people.
David Spoon:Fathers, mothers, pastors, authority figures.
David Spoon:Whatever the case may be, could be siblings that we look up.
David Spoon:Whatever the case may be, the devil takes advantage of that.
David Spoon: In John: David Spoon:Jesus has come that he might give life and life more abundant.
David Spoon:That life more abundant is the restoration of the true image of God, as well as a hundred other things, specifically our positioning with God.
David Spoon:So he demonstrates that love.
David Spoon: hen he makes it clear in John: David Spoon:I want that to be in them.
David Spoon:That's the kind of love that God has for us.
David Spoon:So we have often heard people say, and I'm going to show you where it is, that, well, if you were the only person that sinned, would Jesus have died for you?
David Spoon:There's an actual answer to that, and we're going to get to that.
David Spoon:First, we're going to let the person who give them a chance to.
David Spoon:If it's staying along the sink, we'll give him a chance to talk because we don't want to veri too far away.
David Spoon:So I'm going to let Jacob let me know what he thinks one way or another, and then we're going to talk about the reality check.
David Spoon:There are two tools that you and I need to use to understand that love, and we're going to nail that down.
David Spoon:I don't want it to be misunderstood.
David Spoon:So do we have somebody that wants to answer the trivia question?
David Spoon:Yes.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:They gonna fire right in.
David Spoon:Let's go ahead and send him on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Shell:Good afternoon.
Shell:It's Shell.
David Spoon:Hey, Shell, how are ya?
Shell:I'm doing good.
Shell:Doing real good.
David Spoon:I'm glad.
David Spoon:I'm glad to hear that.
David Spoon:Been praying for you, for your job situation.
David Spoon:I want everybody to hear that Shell's looking for some opportunities, and we need to be praying for our brother.
David Spoon:He could be your February buddy.
David Spoon:I'm just encouraging people.
David Spoon:Right.
Shell:My boss actually said that I'm eligible to start applying within, which is a surprise.
Shell:It's about a month before I thought I was available to do that.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:Wow.
Shell:I call that a beginning of answer to prayer.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:Step one.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Step one.
David Spoon:You got to.
David Spoon:Before you get step two, you got to take step one.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:Well, that's excellent.
David Spoon:We're going to pray over that when I'm done talking to you, because I just want to pray for that opportunity to be wide open.
David Spoon:Are you ready for the triv?
Shell:I guess so.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Try to sound less encouraged.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon: ssed to his mom he had stolen: David Spoon:Was it David, Micah, Jonah, or Esau?
Shell:That would be my friend Micah.
David Spoon:Micah is correctable now.
David Spoon:You are right, sir.
David Spoon:He did.
David Spoon:He confessed because her mom.
David Spoon:Mom put a curse on whoever stole it.
David Spoon:It's like, mom, I did.
David Spoon:She's like, oh, okay, never mind.
Shell:You can't hold anything back from your mom ever.
David Spoon:Yeah, you got to Tell her.
David Spoon:She knows anyway.
David Spoon:That's pretty funny you should say that.
David Spoon:All right, so I'm going to pray for you.
David Spoon:That anything else we can cover you with in prayer?
Shell:I'll give you a little prayer praise report.
David Spoon:Sure.
Shell:My son who moved to Houston, long story.
Shell:Things are finally clearing up and getting better for him.
Shell:He struggled his, I guess you want to call it, fiance left him a week after they got there, so he's just on an island by himself.
Shell:But he's getting better and doing better.
David Spoon:That's good.
David Spoon:The recovery is important.
David Spoon:And so that's another person people can be praying for is Shel's son.
David Spoon:You can be praying for him as well.
David Spoon:You don't have to know all the details.
David Spoon:You just pray them up, mention them before the Lord.
David Spoon:That the Lord will give him full recovery, full restoration.
David Spoon:That's a good thing, right?
David Spoon:Okay, let me pray over you just for your opportunity real fast.
David Spoon:Father, I come before you, I lift up my brother Sheltay and I ask you, Lord, he's got some opportunities that appear to be presenting themselves.
David Spoon:I pray that you would give him a spirit of wisdom and what direction to go.
David Spoon:Give him that peace of mind that Paul's talking about if he's supposed to move that way or no peace of mind if he's not supposed to move that way.
David Spoon:Just give him that sense, that connection with you, to be in partnership with you, so that the openings can be something that he does in concert with his relationship with you and that you would bless him in that and encourage him in that.
David Spoon:And he doesn't have to be afraid.
David Spoon:He's not, but doesn't have to be afraid or over concerned.
David Spoon:You're going to do it with him and you're going to bless him in it and watch over his son and bring him fully back.
David Spoon:Lord, we pray that in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
David Spoon:Amen and Amen.
David Spoon:Amen, Amen, my brother.
Shell:I will keep praying for you, my friend, and you have a continued blessed day and blessed show.
David Spoon:Thank you, my brother.
David Spoon:God bless you.
Shell:God bless you.
David Spoon:Bye bye bye.
David Spoon:All right, Great call.
David Spoon:Excellent job by Shel.
David Spoon:All right, so listen to this passage in Galatians 2:20.
David Spoon:I love this because when you get into the theology things, these are the kind of itty bitty details that kind of people will miss that good theology brings out.
David Spoon:Not all theology is good theology.
David Spoon:Some theology is not that brilliant.
David Spoon:But Galatians 2:20 says this.
David Spoon:Paul says, I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live But Christ lives in me, the life I now live in the Body.
David Spoon:I live by faith in the Son of God.
David Spoon:Listen, who loved me and gave himself for me.
David Spoon:And what people miss is they're like, well, you know, he did that for everybody, so on and so forth.
David Spoon:This is a Galatians 2:20, a superb verse for you to use for the personalization.
David Spoon:When Paul is writing his theology, he does this a couple of times in his theology.
David Spoon:And most of you know Philippians 4:19.
David Spoon:But my God shall supply all your needs.
David Spoon:You know that because you're thinking, yeah, I need to have my needs supplied.
David Spoon:Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's good.
David Spoon:I really do that.
David Spoon:And you understand that.
David Spoon:You don't have any problem with that.
David Spoon:But here Paul is talking about the me factor in relationship to the crucifixion.
David Spoon:He says, I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live.
David Spoon:But Christ lives in me.
David Spoon:The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
David Spoon:It's a very personalized application to the crucifixion.
David Spoon:This is what's great when you get into these studies.
David Spoon:This is Galatians 2:20.
David Spoon:So if you were the only person that blew it, would he have died for you?
David Spoon:Yes.
David Spoon:And that's exactly what Paul's communicating.
David Spoon:He loved me and he gave himself for me.
David Spoon:Yes, he gave himself for others.
David Spoon:But Paul can recognize it.
David Spoon:See, it states it clearly.
David Spoon:He gave himself for me because he loves me.
David Spoon:See what he says, he loved who loved me and gave himself for me.
David Spoon:That's just a beautiful, beautiful connection.
David Spoon:So even if it were an individual love.
David Spoon:Yes, even if you're the only one.
David Spoon:But here's the key, and we just got to make it super easy without, you know, let's not get overly complex.
David Spoon:We already know.
David Spoon:We already know that God loves us way past what we're thinking, way, way different, way beyond the methods that we've been giving him credit for.
David Spoon:Because, face it, we don't always have the most brilliant, I don't know what I'm looking for applications.
David Spoon:That's a nice way to say it.
David Spoon:And we know that the truth of God, Genesis 11, Revelation 22, 21, the image of God is the place where we get the definitive of who God is and how he loves us.
David Spoon:And in the life of Jesus Christ, who is the exact representation according to Hebrews Chapter one, verse three.
David Spoon:And isn't that amazing?
David Spoon:It's the Father, it's the Son, the Father's revealed through the Word, the Father's revealed through the son and Romans 5:5.
David Spoon:Hope does not disappoint us because God has poured out his love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit whom He has given us.
David Spoon:This is yet another place, another point.
David Spoon:We get the love of God, the knowledge of that love through his written word.
David Spoon:We get the knowledge of that love through the very life of Jesus Christ.
David Spoon:And we get the knowledge of that love through the Holy Spirit who lives inside of us.
David Spoon:That's why grieving, Ephesians 4:30.
David Spoon:Grieve not the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon:That's why making sad the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon:Bad idea.
David Spoon:That's why quenching, shutting down the flow of the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon:1 Thessalonians 5:19.
David Spoon:That's why it's a bad idea.
David Spoon:Why?
David Spoon:Because it closes the valve of love that God is pouring into us.
David Spoon:And what's amazing about this revelation is that that love comes from the Holy Spirit, pouring it out into our hearts from Jesus Christ and the life that he reflects, and from the Father who makes it clear from Genesis 1:1 to.
David Spoon: To Revelation: David Spoon:So we get the witness in the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon:And that love is a perfect love.
David Spoon:The place of our twisted love is all because of the sin of mankind.
David Spoon:And what God does is.
David Spoon:Makes it clear.
David Spoon:His love is real.
David Spoon:His love is pure.
David Spoon:His love is for each one of us.
David Spoon:So we need to do this huge thing.
David Spoon:Ready.
David Spoon:Get ready.
David Spoon:We need to believe God's word.
David Spoon:We need to look at the life of Jesus Christ.
David Spoon:And we need to stop grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit so that we can operate more in the love that God actually has for us.
David Spoon:I will make one statement that's not theologically correct, but I still stand by it.
David Spoon:And that is, if we knew that full love, I think, in this body because of sin, we would explode like a firecracker.
David Spoon:No, it doesn't say that, but I just get that sense.
David Spoon:God loves you so much more than you know.
David Spoon:He loves me so much more than I know.
David Spoon:And he will never stop loving us.
David Spoon:That is what's going to be great about eternity.
David Spoon:Yowza.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:Yowza.
David Spoon:All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KWAM 770, the true station here in Texas.
David Spoon:22 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.
David Spoon:More insanity with spoonanity.
David Spoon:Talk to you then.
