Dr. David Spoon:Well, I gotta tell you, I ask the very same question.
Dr. David Spoon:And you know what the Lord tells me?
Dr. David Spoon:Go in.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, so then that's why I do it.
Dr. David Spoon:Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
Dr. David Spoon:Living this life, not always easy running in.
Dr. David Spoon:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, Local, national and heavenly talk.
Dr. David Spoon:My name is Dr.
Dr. David Spoon:David Spoon.
Dr. David Spoon:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
Dr. David Spoon:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
Dr. David Spoon:Here is the key to the show.
Dr. David Spoon:We don't know what we're doing.
Dr. David Spoon:We have no idea what's gonna happen and we don't care.
Dr. David Spoon:But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk truth with you.
Dr. David Spoon:So here we go.
Dr. David Spoon:Or asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Dr. David Spoon:That thingy right there.
Dr. David Spoon:Here is a fascinating question.
Dr. David Spoon:Now you have to listen.
Dr. David Spoon:There's a nuance in this question.
Dr. David Spoon:There's something very subtle there that I want you to pick up.
Dr. David Spoon:Ready?
Dr. David Spoon:What was the first verse you memorized in the Bible because you wanted to, not because you went to church and they told you you had to.
Dr. David Spoon:What's the first verse in the Bible that you memorized because you wanted to memorize it because it was important to you and you wanted it to be committed to memory.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, if it's of more of recent than it was when you were 8, and if you didn't become a Christian until you were 48, all that's fine.
Dr. David Spoon:Just give me the verse that you were like, you know what?
Dr. David Spoon:This is a verse I'm going to memorize because it's going to help me.
Dr. David Spoon:I have several verses in my own catalog, so to speak, that I've done that with.
Dr. David Spoon:But the one that's of most recent for me is the Hebrews 4:16 that says, we come to the throne of grace with confidence to receive mercy and to find grace in our time of need.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the one I'm doing.
Dr. David Spoon:But what is your first verse or primary verse that you've memorized because you wanted to?
Dr. David Spoon:That's what I'm asking you.
Dr. David Spoon:If you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a question, please don't let it die of loneliness.
Dr. David Spoon:Reach out and give us a call.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Talking to Jim and Jacob is like feeling confident that you have done your very best.
Dr. David Spoon:Thank you, David.
Dr. David Spoon:Happy Wednesday.
Dr. David Spoon:Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.
Dr. David Spoon:I do want to let you know I so enjoy your intro music.
Dr. David Spoon:You do not need to come up with a new one for February.
Dr. David Spoon:I think you could just keep playing that for February.
Dr. David Spoon:That's a really good one.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, we'll do.
Dr. David Spoon:I mean, I just like it.
Dr. David Spoon:I just like it.
Dr. David Spoon:It's just got that good, bouncy, you know, feel.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, we'll see if we feel that way depending on how the super bowl goes.
Dr. David Spoon:But we'll go from there at that point in time anyway.
Dr. David Spoon:The opening question.
Dr. David Spoon:Pretty straightforward.
Dr. David Spoon:Many of us have gone through either church upbringing, whatever the case may be, maybe Sunday school.
Dr. David Spoon:And then we were required by.
Dr. David Spoon:By many to learn Scripture.
Dr. David Spoon:I know that, and I think it's fantastic.
Dr. David Spoon:And memory of Scripture, I think, is hugely important.
Dr. David Spoon:I won't even tell you how important it is to me.
Dr. David Spoon:Cause I don't wanna get into that weird guilt thing.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's what I want you to do.
Dr. David Spoon:I want you to just tell me what verse you memorized because you wanted it, because it was important to you.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what I'm interested in.
Dr. David Spoon:Because that tells me a lot about where we're at in the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:So I've given you in my mind, mine's Hebrews 4:16, if whatever you want.
Dr. David Spoon:We got a bunch of people responding.
Dr. David Spoon:You can just give me what the text is, or you can just give me what the words are.
Dr. David Spoon:Either way, it's okay.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's the deal.
Dr. David Spoon:You can call and respond to that.
Dr. David Spoon:You know that.
Dr. David Spoon:Or if you wanted to, you could text it in the text number is different than the call in number.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, I know we talk about this a lot, but we still get people that mix those up.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Additionally, you can send an email.
Dr. David Spoon:This one doesn't seem to get too confusing.
Dr. David Spoon:Davidemustincrease.org that's David must increase a with the circle around.
Dr. David Spoon:It's the Davidemustincrease.org, because we're a nonprofit corporation.
Dr. David Spoon:So that's the question that I've laid out for you.
Dr. David Spoon:But you can also respond to other things that are going on in your life.
Dr. David Spoon:So you might want to answer that question.
Dr. David Spoon:What's the first verse you memorized because you wanted to.
Dr. David Spoon:It was important to you, right?
Dr. David Spoon:But if you have something else you want to share, a praise report or a testimony, or you want to testify to something that the Lord has done, it's an opportunity to bless other people plus to bring glory to God.
Dr. David Spoon:And so therefore, let me say that again.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:There, got it.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:So let's just understand what we're bringing there.
Dr. David Spoon:What's that first verse you memorize?
Dr. David Spoon:And it can be for a praise report, a testimony.
Dr. David Spoon:It can also be for prayer request.
Dr. David Spoon:So if you've got a prayer request, you need prayer.
Dr. David Spoon:We are those goofy people, you know, that people in the world make fun of.
Dr. David Spoon:That's us only.
Dr. David Spoon:We rejoice in that because we think it's hilarious.
Dr. David Spoon:They don't understand when we hear da da da, it's going to be a completely different program.
Dr. David Spoon:The universe is going to change on their heads.
Dr. David Spoon:And so what we're telling people is, look, if you've got a prayer request, bring it.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's pray.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's take my faith, your faith, all of our faith, everybody's faith, collectively.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's offer it up to the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:We'll do it just the way Jesus taught us to.
Dr. David Spoon: In Mark: Dr. David Spoon:Father, we proclaim he can do anything.
Dr. David Spoon:We give him our request, we surrender it to him because his perfect will is better than ours.
Dr. David Spoon:And his timing is much more.
Dr. David Spoon:It's much more efficient than ours.
Dr. David Spoon:And that's how we'll petition and believe the Lord for it with high expectation.
Dr. David Spoon:That's right.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what we'll do.
Dr. David Spoon:So it can be a prayer request.
Dr. David Spoon:It can be a praise report.
Dr. David Spoon:It can be just something that the Lord has blessed you in.
Dr. David Spoon:That's cool.
Dr. David Spoon:This came across and I saw this or I read this, and it really encouraged me.
Dr. David Spoon:Great.
Dr. David Spoon:That's a phenomenal thing.
Dr. David Spoon:Never forget that.
Dr. David Spoon:In fact, we should have a list of these things that we write down.
Dr. David Spoon:I've told you, I have my own list.
Dr. David Spoon:It's called Little by Little.
Dr. David Spoon:When the Lord told me to write a list, little by little for the things that I do, I've been doing it now for seven years, since we've been in Texas.
Dr. David Spoon:I have 60 pages of things, and they're just one liners or two liners.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't care about the grammar.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't care about that.
Dr. David Spoon:I just, like, pop it in there.
Dr. David Spoon:I usually do voice recognition, which always makes it funny.
Dr. David Spoon:And it's just like it, just because it just encourages me.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the kind of things that we need to be doing to stay focused in the kingdom of God.
Dr. David Spoon:So I will remind you, February is coming up only a couple days away.
Dr. David Spoon:We're looking for FEB Buddies.
Dr. David Spoon:FEB Buddies is simple.
Dr. David Spoon:You hear somebody's voice or that calls on the radio or somebody I talk about or anything that exchanges through the show in whatever way, shape or form, you pick that name up and you pray for that person in the month of February.
Dr. David Spoon:You don't have to be perfect at it.
Dr. David Spoon:Just mention them before the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:That's your FEB buddy.
Dr. David Spoon:Nobody needs to know.
Dr. David Spoon:It's just between you and the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:All right.
Dr. David Spoon:That's pretty simple stuff.
Dr. David Spoon:In the meantime, guess what?
Dr. David Spoon:We are in the word of God, and we are in.
Dr. David Spoon:I just love this stuff.
Dr. David Spoon:I delight in this stuff.
Dr. David Spoon:We are in the Psalms, and we are in the second half of Psalm 60.
Dr. David Spoon:And this Psalm, if you remember last week, we talked about it so powerful.
Dr. David Spoon:It's like you don't even realize how powerful some of these psalms are till you get into them.
Dr. David Spoon:And we talked about the Lord, that Israel had sinned against God, that David was petitioning God on the behalf of the nation.
Dr. David Spoon:And so there's this understanding that the banner of the Lord is for those that fear him.
Dr. David Spoon:And a banner is a rallying point.
Dr. David Spoon:So when it says the Lord is my banner, that means that God is the rallying point.
Dr. David Spoon:And it all comes down to so that your beloved may be delivered it's just wonderful.
Dr. David Spoon:Right?
Dr. David Spoon:But now we're going to pick up in verse six.
Dr. David Spoon:Remember, David is doing an urgent prayer for restored favor.
Dr. David Spoon:So not everything he says is going to be flowers, right?
Dr. David Spoon:Some of it's going to be, uh, oh, we blew it, and, oh, these other people are against us.
Dr. David Spoon:But I want to pick it up from where David does it again.
Dr. David Spoon:And so here he is in verse six.
Dr. David Spoon:He says, God has spoken in his holiness.
Dr. David Spoon:I will rejoice.
Dr. David Spoon:I will divide Shechem and measure out the valley of Sukkoth.
Dr. David Spoon:Gilead is mine and Manasseh is mine.
Dr. David Spoon:Ephraim also is the helmet for my head.
Dr. David Spoon:Judah is my lawgiver.
Dr. David Spoon:Moab is my wash pot.
Dr. David Spoon:Over Edom I will cast my shoe.
Dr. David Spoon:Philistia shout in triumph because of me.
Dr. David Spoon:Who will bring me to the strong city?
Dr. David Spoon:Who will lead me to Edom?
Dr. David Spoon:Is it not you, O God, who cast us off?
Dr. David Spoon:And you, O God, who did not go out with our armies?
Dr. David Spoon:Wow.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's pick it up right where David's talking about it.
Dr. David Spoon:We're jumping back in the second half of Psalm 60, starting with verse 6.
Dr. David Spoon:Remember, this song again from David is an urgent prayer for restored faith favor.
Dr. David Spoon:So things have gone south for King David and for Israel, and he needs the Lord's help.
Dr. David Spoon:So it's a good idea for us, you and me, to become very familiar with this type of biblical declaration because it can help you and I get through trials, because I'm sure every person listening to my voice has experienced at least once where it appears things are going south.
Dr. David Spoon:So David says in verse 6, God has spoken in his holiness and that he will rejoice.
Dr. David Spoon:He says, God has spoken in his holiness and I will rejoice when we finally hear God speak into the situation, when Jesus makes the declaration, when the Holy Spirit gives you the guidance and you're going through the process and the situation, isn't it amazing how it changes the entire process of how we perceived it and how we've engaged with it?
Dr. David Spoon:Isn't it just phenomenal that when we're dealing with something and it's hard or difficult and we're going through the struggles and we're pursuing it and we're looking to the Lord and we're calling upon him, and we feel like whether we've done something not right or just not catching what the wind is or what he's trying to say, and then the Lord does speak, isn't it absolutely amazing that when God speaks, what happens?
Dr. David Spoon:Everything changes?
Dr. David Spoon:I didn't say when God Did a miracle.
Dr. David Spoon:That of course, brings about an amazing amount of change.
Dr. David Spoon:Right.
Dr. David Spoon:Nobody's got to testify to that.
Dr. David Spoon:In the sense that you see a miracle, it's like, there you go, right?
Dr. David Spoon:But when the Lord speaks about something, I'm telling when the Lord speaks about something.
Dr. David Spoon:So this is reminding me of an event that took place 40 plus years ago.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, I just can't believe this came to my mind.
Dr. David Spoon:So my mom, when she was alive, purchased a house in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. David Spoon:We were in Phoenix and I was there looking at the house before she bought it.
Dr. David Spoon:And I went in and had a chance to talk to the realtor who was kind of like doing the house thing.
Dr. David Spoon:He worked for a company, he was selling them for the houses.
Dr. David Spoon:And we chatted and it turned out that his relatives were very well known relatives.
Dr. David Spoon:He was a relative of one of the largest, the pastor that had the third largest church in all of Arizona.
Dr. David Spoon:And he did not go down that ministry trail.
Dr. David Spoon:He went down a different trail, still Christian though, but just didn't go down the ministry, go into that walk process.
Dr. David Spoon:So him and I were talking and we were talking about that and talking about different things.
Dr. David Spoon:And he said to me, you know, Dave, he goes, I have a question for you.
Dr. David Spoon:I've really been going through this thing.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm trying to figure it out.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm trying to make this decision in the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:And earlier that day, I had just read how Paul had mentioned in 2 Corinthians, chapter 2, how God had given him no peace of mind in a circumstance at Traus so that he left.
Dr. David Spoon:And so I said, you know, I just read this this morning about Paul saying I had no peace of mind.
Dr. David Spoon:So I left.
Dr. David Spoon:I said, perhaps that's also an indicator you can use to figure out what direction you're going to go in.
Dr. David Spoon:And his face lit up like a billboard.
Dr. David Spoon:I mean, like a billboard.
Dr. David Spoon:And he's like, that's exactly what.
Dr. David Spoon:It's exactly what I needed to hear.
Dr. David Spoon:And his, it wasn't me, stop that.
Dr. David Spoon:It was him hearing what he needed to hear from the Lord changed the whole thing.
Dr. David Spoon:And he used it and it helped him.
Dr. David Spoon:And why I'm bringing that up is because just that thing from the Lord, just that word from the Lord, just that affirmation from the Lord, just that confirmation from the Lord, just that acknowledgment from the Lord, for you and I, it's amazing how much of an impact it has.
Dr. David Spoon:And so David says, you know, God spoke in his holiness.
Dr. David Spoon:I will rejoice when you have God speak to you in a circumstance, There are many proper responses, but rejoicing is going to be at the top of the list, isn't it?
Dr. David Spoon:And so when we finally hear the Lord speak into a situation, it just changes everything.
Dr. David Spoon:Not just our perception, but our engagement, our spirit.
Dr. David Spoon:We get lifted up, and I know this has happened to you and me and all of us multiple times, where the Lord has said something to us while we're going through it.
Dr. David Spoon:And it's all of a sudden it's like, what's that line from the Matrix?
Dr. David Spoon:Everything is like, all of a sudden it's like, it's as right as rain.
Dr. David Spoon:Like eating a chocolate cookie.
Dr. David Spoon:It's as right as rain.
Dr. David Spoon:It's just like, oh, yeah, that's what I needed.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, in this particular case, God identifies a statement with each of the tribes.
Dr. David Spoon:And it could be helpful to understand that God speaks differently to each one of these tribes.
Dr. David Spoon:And it is worthy to note that he does speak differently to us.
Dr. David Spoon:In other words, the same form of communication.
Dr. David Spoon:God might use a person.
Dr. David Spoon:He might use a circumstance.
Dr. David Spoon:He might use a car's bumper sticker.
Dr. David Spoon:He might use a radio show, he might use a pastor, he might use a myriad of things.
Dr. David Spoon:He'll use whatever he wants to use to speak to you.
Dr. David Spoon:In this situation, he's talking to the different tribes.
Dr. David Spoon:And unfortunately for the tribes, not every word was super positive.
Dr. David Spoon:Cotton candy and flowers.
Dr. David Spoon:But I want to make sure you understand something about David, because God's talking about.
Dr. David Spoon:He gives these statements about the different tribes.
Dr. David Spoon:And some of them are pretty good, some of them aren't that good.
Dr. David Spoon:But David recognizes, hey, this is about God.
Dr. David Spoon:This is about God's voice.
Dr. David Spoon:This is about hearing God.
Dr. David Spoon:So David makes this super strong statement in verse nine.
Dr. David Spoon:And he says, who will bring me to the strong city?
Dr. David Spoon:Who will lead me to Edom?
Dr. David Spoon:Is it not you, O God?
Dr. David Spoon:When push come to shove and it all comes down to it, David's like going, it's got to be your armies, God.
Dr. David Spoon:It's got to be your help.
Dr. David Spoon:He knows that his help has to come from the Lord in every situation.
Dr. David Spoon:For that situation to turn out right.
Dr. David Spoon:He knows it.
Dr. David Spoon:He's already exhausted all of his possible uses.
Dr. David Spoon:Now it's God's turn.
Dr. David Spoon:Sometimes the Lord waits for us to run out of our effort so that he can go, my turn, my turn.
Dr. David Spoon:Do I get.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, great.
Dr. David Spoon:Get it.
Dr. David Spoon:Isn't that cool?
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, don't you love the Lord?
Dr. David Spoon:He's so good.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, let's open up with a triv question.
Dr. David Spoon:We'll do that real quickly, please.
Dr. David Spoon:Here we go.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's see how many people can get this.
Dr. David Spoon:This is a pretty interesting challenge.
Dr. David Spoon: Corinthians,: Dr. David Spoon:I'm going to give you the.
Dr. David Spoon:There's a blank to fill in.
Dr. David Spoon:And I'll give you the four words and yes, it's as obvious as it sounds.
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, my beloved blank from idolatry.
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, my beloved blank from idolatry.
Dr. David Spoon:Is it flee, embrace, examine, or approve?
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, my beloved blank from idolatry.
Dr. David Spoon:Is it flee, embrace, examine, or approve?
Dr. David Spoon: First Corinthians,: Dr. David Spoon:I think you guys will catch on to what's going there.
Dr. David Spoon:If you think you know the answer, you can reach out to us to answer the trivia question.
Dr. David Spoon:What is our number?
Dr. David Spoon:Good question.
Dr. David Spoon:Let me find that.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: That's: Dr. David Spoon:Or you can send an email, David, that he must increase.
Dr. David Spoon:Pretty straightforward.
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, my beloved blank from idolatry.
Dr. David Spoon:First Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 14.
Dr. David Spoon:Is it flee, embrace, examine, or approve?
Dr. David Spoon:That is the question.
Dr. David Spoon:So I'm going to send you up to the website and I'm not going to make all the normal little, you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's what I'm going to tell you.
Dr. David Spoon:We need help.
Dr. David Spoon:So I'm going to say to you.
Dr. David Spoon:We need help.
Dr. David Spoon:If the Lord allows you to.
Dr. David Spoon:Please help.
Dr. David Spoon:There you go.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm just going to leave it there, let you think it through.
Dr. David Spoon:Check out the giving opportunity plus the other things on the website@hemustincrease.org prayer request.
Dr. David Spoon:Hemostincrease.org praise report.
Dr. David Spoon:He mustincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.
Dr. David Spoon:He must increase.org confused by what's happening right now.
Dr. David Spoon:He must increase.org he must increase.org that'll do, Donkey.
Dr. David Spoon:That'll do.
Dr. David Spoon:That'll do, Donkey.
Dr. David Spoon:That'll do.
Dr. David Spoon:You know, I was just thinking about.
Dr. David Spoon:I haven't seen that, like, the Austin Powers movies in, like, a long time.
Dr. David Spoon:I gotta have to look it up.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, that's right.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm not.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm not promoting the movie.
Dr. David Spoon:I just said I have to see it and review it.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, so let's go on for people like what?
Dr. David Spoon:You can't do that.
Dr. David Spoon:I love people.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, anyway, here we go.
Dr. David Spoon:So we're back to this Text.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, by the way, here's your trivia question.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't forget.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm just keeping it simple, simple, simple.
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, my beloved blank from adultery is that flee, embrace, examine, or approve.
Dr. David Spoon:If you think you know, you can reach out to us.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's go back to this text.
Dr. David Spoon:So David says, who's going to lead me to eat him?
Dr. David Spoon:Is it not you, O God?
Dr. David Spoon:Is it not you, O God?
Dr. David Spoon:I mean, we need you.
Dr. David Spoon:We need you.
Dr. David Spoon:We need you to go out with your armies.
Dr. David Spoon:Then he says this, and listen to this.
Dr. David Spoon:This is why these psalms are so powerful.
Dr. David Spoon:Verse 11.
Dr. David Spoon:Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless.
Dr. David Spoon:What?
Dr. David Spoon:Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless.
Dr. David Spoon:You think that mankind has the answers?
Dr. David Spoon:Mankind operating in the same sinful nature with the majority of people that are leading this world, operating in the same sinful nature that allowed sin to enter in the first place, which allowed disease, destruction, death and stupidity all over the place.
Dr. David Spoon:These are the people that are leading the world.
Dr. David Spoon:And we're like going, well, they'll help us.
Dr. David Spoon:Wow, look at that.
Dr. David Spoon:Verse 11, Psalm 60.
Dr. David Spoon:11, give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless.
Dr. David Spoon:Just think about that.
Dr. David Spoon:Just think about how powerful that is.
Dr. David Spoon:What he's saying.
Dr. David Spoon:He's like, you know what?
Dr. David Spoon:You're going to have to help us.
Dr. David Spoon:This can't be people.
Dr. David Spoon:This is not going to work.
Dr. David Spoon:Then verse 12, he says, through God we will do valiantly, for it is he who shall tread down our enemies.
Dr. David Spoon:So, just so you can catch this, I don't want you to miss this.
Dr. David Spoon:He's making this brilliant theological declaration in verse 11 and 12.
Dr. David Spoon:He says, Give us help.
Dr. David Spoon:Man is useless.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, I know there's a lot of people that are bent on.
Dr. David Spoon:Let me just say this.
Dr. David Spoon:This is worthwhile for you to listen to.
Dr. David Spoon:They're bent on following the science.
Dr. David Spoon:But you can follow science right into hell.
Dr. David Spoon:What you want to do is follow Jesus right into heaven.
Dr. David Spoon:And David makes this proclamation through God.
Dr. David Spoon:We will do valiantly.
Dr. David Spoon:And that's the key.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the.
Dr. David Spoon:I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the same kind of through that's being discussed in both.
Dr. David Spoon:Through God.
Dr. David Spoon:We're going to prevail through God.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the ticket, and that's the answer to everything.
Dr. David Spoon:Through God.
Dr. David Spoon:Right.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the key.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the component.
Dr. David Spoon:There's nothing else to be given there.
Dr. David Spoon:And I want to point that out to you, make sure you understand that science has recently said in the ama there's more than two genders.
Dr. David Spoon:They're idiots.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the stupidest thing.
Dr. David Spoon:Go watch Kindergarten Cop.
Dr. David Spoon:You'll learn every lesson you need to from the kindergarten kid.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, my goodness.
Dr. David Spoon:And just think about how ridiculous that is.
Dr. David Spoon:It's like, what is wrong with you people?
Dr. David Spoon:Well, you get to choose.
Dr. David Spoon:No, you, really.
Dr. David Spoon:I get to be.
Dr. David Spoon:Then I consider myself now all the money from the government.
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, I have all that money to spend.
Dr. David Spoon:Thanks.
Dr. David Spoon:Then I won't have to ask you guys for money.
Dr. David Spoon:See how good that would work?
Dr. David Spoon:All right, so I'm just making the point.
Dr. David Spoon:You can follow science right into hell, or you can follow Jesus right into heaven.
Dr. David Spoon:Does that mean everything science has done is bad?
Dr. David Spoon:No, of course not.
Dr. David Spoon:But you can't let science and the knowledge of man be the lead in your life, because half of it, if not more than half of it, is not even true.
Dr. David Spoon:Just remember, the newest thing, two plus two is four.
Dr. David Spoon:But only if one of the twos really feels like it.
Dr. David Spoon:Just move on from there.
Dr. David Spoon:Those poor numbers, they always get beat up by people.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, so it's pretty straightforward and simple.
Dr. David Spoon:Our help needs to come from the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:And when you get to the point where you're just a little more desperate or a little bit more hanging on by your teeth or whatever the case may be, you really want to hear the voice of the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Because when he speaks, you will rejoice.
Dr. David Spoon:Yes, you want him to do what he's going to do, but you want to hear his voice.
Dr. David Spoon:Because when God speaks, universes begin and miracles take place.
Dr. David Spoon:Watch this.
Dr. David Spoon:And when God speaks, there's life.
Dr. David Spoon:And that's what we need.
Dr. David Spoon:We need God speaking so that there's life.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the key right there.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, people, this is the trivia question.
Dr. David Spoon:Therefore, my beloved blank.
Dr. David Spoon:From idolatry.
Dr. David Spoon: First Corinthians: Dr. David Spoon:Is it flee, embrace, examine, or approve?
Dr. David Spoon:And the answer is obviously, flee from adultery.
Dr. David Spoon:Idolatry.
Dr. David Spoon:Idolatry, by the way, is anything you put between you and God, that becomes your God.
Dr. David Spoon:That becomes your idol.
Dr. David Spoon:Run away from that.
Dr. David Spoon:Only God.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what's in front of you.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, we'll take our break, and then we'll come back.
Dr. David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Dr. David Spoon:Short break.
Dr. David Spoon:We'll be back.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.

Dr. David Spoon:What is the David Spoon experience?
Dr. David Spoon:What the issue is, is this guy hears the gospel from Philip, and in that presentation of the gospel is baptism.
Dr. David Spoon:That is not, not negotiable in the sense that there's no way you can remove that.
Dr. David Spoon:And he responds by saying, I want to be part of this family.
Dr. David Spoon:I want to be connected to this.
Dr. David Spoon:I hear the good news.
Dr. David Spoon:I want the grace and the mercy.
Dr. David Spoon:I want to do whatever it takes to show my response, not just to you, Philip, but to the entire world.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm a Christian, and that's what baptism does.
Dr. David Spoon:And while I think it's dangerous to say if you're not, you can never get in.
Dr. David Spoon:Because I don't believe that's correct.
Dr. David Spoon:I also think it's dangerous to say nobody needs to do it.
Dr. David Spoon:That's incorrect, too.
Dr. David Spoon:Your baptism is an open proclamation of an inward work.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't you ever forget the Lord requires that if you've never been baptized, get baptized.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, I gotta do it.
Dr. David Spoon:Right this way.
Dr. David Spoon:Arrange to get baptized.
Dr. David Spoon:That's it.
Dr. David Spoon:If you've never done it, you should do it because it's a declaration of your faith.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the response to the gospel you're saying by identifying going down and up in baptism, the end of you, the beginning of him in you.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, that just seems like.
Dr. David Spoon:Doesn't even seem like.
Dr. David Spoon:That's complex.
Dr. David Spoon:I think everybody should just go.
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:Got it.
