01-28-2025 part 2: The Generosity of God: Assurance in Troubling Times
God is for us, and this truth resonates deeply throughout today's discussion. Dr. David Spoon emphasizes the importance of faith in God's generosity, reminding listeners that if God did not spare His own Son, He will surely provide for our needs. The episode features heartfelt prayers for individuals facing life's challenges, particularly Martha, a beloved friend who is navigating a difficult situation after her husband broke his vows. Dr. Spoon encourages believers to trust in God's unwavering support and to seek hope in the midst of despair. Through personal anecdotes and biblical insights, he illustrates how prayer can be a powerful source of comfort and strength in times of trouble.
Listeners are treated to a rich exploration of faith, provision, and the nature of God's love in this enlightening broadcast. David Spoon delves into Romans 8:32, articulating the profound implications of God's willingness to sacrifice His Son for humanity. This act of love becomes the cornerstone for understanding the depth of God's generosity. Spoon challenges the common misconception that God may withhold blessings from His followers, encouraging a mindset rooted in the belief that God is eager to provide for our needs. The episode weaves together scriptural insights with Spoon's personal journey, illustrating how his past struggles with faith mirror those of many listeners today. By fostering an open dialogue about prayer, Spoon invites listeners to share their own experiences and requests, creating a community of support and encouragement. Ultimately, the message is clear: God's love is abundant, and His desire is for us to experience the fullness of that love in our daily lives.

And now for something completely different.
David Spoon:Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.
David Spoon:It's totally terrific, totally transforming, totally triumphant Tuesday as we find unity from the Father, through the Son and by the Spirit, all for the glory of God Almighty.
David Spoon:First, it's marvelous time.
David Spoon:Simply marvelous.
David Spoon:We are in Romans, chapter eight.
David Spoon:We're going to pick it up at verse 32 with a quick look at verse 31.
David Spoon:And this is where the passage truly goes out of sight.
David Spoon:The phenomenal word of God in verse 32 says, Since God did not spare even his own son, but gave him up for us all, the first declaration of this verse highlights God's willingness to sacrifice.
David Spoon:We need to think of it in these terms.
David Spoon:God is like a person sacrificing their son on behalf of someone else's welfare because they love that person.
David Spoon:But next, God is so generous that he gave up his Son for us.
David Spoon:How then will he not also provide for us in all the other things?
David Spoon:So what's the problem?
David Spoon:It's the same problem I have and the same problem you have.
David Spoon:The problem lies on our end.
David Spoon:We often see God as withholding.
David Spoon:We have faith that God can, but we doubt that God wants to.
David Spoon:Did you hear that line?
David Spoon:We have faith that God can, but we doubt that God wants to.
David Spoon:That's the kind of faith we operate with.
David Spoon:And because of it, we experience less of his generosity.
David Spoon:Yikes.
David Spoon:Finally, in verse 34, he explains that after making us right with him through Jesus and the redeeming work of Jesus, Jesus is now sitting at the right hand of the Father, interceding and praying for us.
David Spoon:He is seated in the highest place of honor, right next to the Father, and he leans over to whisper on our behalf.
David Spoon:Doesn't get any better than that.
David Spoon:Jesus speaks to the Father for you.
David Spoon:And I guess what, his ministry never ends.
David Spoon:David Spoon's life has been an experience.
David Spoon:While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.
David Spoon:Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.
David Spoon:The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.
David Spoon:After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.
David Spoon:He joined KAAM and this radio program began.
David Spoon:You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Local, national and heavenly talk.
David Spoon:Here's what else we're looking at during the show.
David Spoon:Lessons for surviving, lessons for living and lessons for prevailing politics, entertainment and current events.
David Spoon:Personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities and oy vey so much more.
David Spoon:Just so much more.
David Spoon:Now, remember, it's not professional radio.
David Spoon:We talked to Professor Plumb about that yesterday.
David Spoon:It's just radio.
David Spoon:That's all it is.
David Spoon:And we're asking you, what do you think?
David Spoon:How you doing?
David Spoon:You can email us davidmustincrease.org that's davidemustincrease.org you always give the email, you always give the text, you always give the phone numbers.
David Spoon:What's the reason?
David Spoon:New people.
David Spoon:Thank you.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or in fact, you can call us amazing.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Talking to Jammin Jacob is like sharing a cheat meal on your diet with your f favorite person.
David Spoon:Thank you, David.
David Spoon:Happy Tuesday.
David Spoon:Happy Tuesday to you.
David Spoon:I just got to check with you.
David Spoon:Did you have anything phenomenal over the weekend?
David Spoon:Anything extraordinary?
David Spoon:Just the regular.
David Spoon:Anything that, like, stands out for you at all?
David Spoon:Just out of curiosity, just checking in with you, Justine, if you did anything extra there, anything.
David Spoon:I wanted to wait to see how long you would go with that.
David Spoon:Nothing, Nothing too special.
David Spoon:Didn't have any Reese's this past weekend, so a little disappointed there.
David Spoon:But, yeah, just nothing.
David Spoon:Nothing too crazy.
David Spoon:What about you?
David Spoon:Saltwater taffy from England.
David Spoon:That's what we had.
David Spoon:Really?
David Spoon:Yep, yep, yep.
David Spoon:Salt water taffy from England.
David Spoon:So it's very hard to explain the whole thing, but let's just say it was excellent.
David Spoon:Just excellent.
David Spoon:You know, you can't eat.
David Spoon:Saltwater taffy is really good, but you can't eat like 900 pieces.
David Spoon:You know, you gotta have a couple of pieces and then kind of let it go is excellent.
David Spoon:So it's just one of those weird things that happened, you know, because their family came in, they brought some saltwater taffy from England, and so they left it for us.
David Spoon:I don't think I've ever had that before.
David Spoon:I will try and sneak you a piece if there's any left.
David Spoon:Odds are, you know, we'll see.
David Spoon:But I mean, one way or another, I'll try it during the show.
David Spoon:If that happens.
David Spoon:We'll have a live food review.
David Spoon:We'll have a live review of the saltwater taffy from England.
David Spoon:Now, isn't that.
David Spoon:Wouldn't that be fun, right?
David Spoon:That'd Be fun.
David Spoon:Okay, live.
David Spoon:Jam and Jacob, food review.
David Spoon:Jam and Jacob.
David Spoon:Does the food.
David Spoon:Love it.
David Spoon:Here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:Why in the universe would you guys out there give us a holla?
David Spoon:Why would you call us?
David Spoon:Why would you text us?
David Spoon:Why would you email us?
David Spoon:Well, one, you're a little bit weird because you're listening to this show in the first place, and that makes you a little weird no matter what you say to me.
David Spoon:Number two, maybe you've got a praise report.
David Spoon:Got something going on, and it's like, you know what?
David Spoon:I want to share this.
David Spoon:Share it.
David Spoon:It's always a great thing because it glorifies God.
David Spoon:And that's like a big key of us breathing.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:You can have a praise report.
David Spoon:You can have a prayer request.
David Spoon:Because we believe prayer works because it does work for those that are trying to figure it out.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:When you pray and you have faith and you trust and you believe, God does miraculous things and it only takes a moment for a mirac.
David Spoon:And some of you are just like, but to believe.
David Spoon:But to believe.
David Spoon:But that's what Jesus wants.
David Spoon:To believe.
David Spoon:And to have faith is mentioned more than love.
David Spoon:I'd just like to see somebody argue with that.
David Spoon:Anyway, my point is making it very clear.
David Spoon:Jesus wants us to believe.
David Spoon:Believe what?
David Spoon:That all things are possible with God.
David Spoon:That's one.
David Spoon:So bring your prayer request.
David Spoon:Maybe you've got something you just want to share, something that's just blessed you, something that really encouraged you.
David Spoon:Awesome.
David Spoon:Share it.
David Spoon:Maybe.
David Spoon:Maybe you have an answer to trivia.
David Spoon:You guys better get this one, because if not, take my ball and go home.
David Spoon:For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the blank of God.
David Spoon:Ephesians 2:8.
David Spoon:For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the blank of God.
David Spoon:Ephesians 2:8.
David Spoon:If you think you know the answer, give us a holler.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or you can send an email.
David Spoon:Davidemustincrease.org so some people might say, you know, I've heard that trivia question on this show before, and my response to that is, you will hear it again.
David Spoon:Because it is important for us to continually absorb, meditate, focus on, and stand in the truth.
David Spoon:For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the blank of God.
David Spoon:Ephesians 2:8.
David Spoon:In the meantime, we will, in fact, do our DNA.
David Spoon:Are you ready for our DNA?
David Spoon:Here we go, people.
David Spoon:Get ready.
David Spoon:D stands for draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:Daily.
David Spoon:Just hang out with the Lord.
David Spoon:You know what?
David Spoon:You don't even have to put.
David Spoon:You don't even have to call it devotions.
David Spoon:You don't have to.
David Spoon:Actually, somebody that I absolutely admire, they don't like that term, the way it comes off to a lot of people.
David Spoon:And I understand that.
David Spoon:I don't even have a problem with it.
David Spoon:You just gotta hang out with God.
David Spoon:That's what you gotta do.
David Spoon:He created you to hang out with you.
David Spoon:So when you're hanging out with him, you're touching into your purpose of existence.
David Spoon:Now consider that.
David Spoon:Consider the ramifications of that.
David Spoon:You think, well, what do you mean?
David Spoon:He created me to have fellowship.
David Spoon:He didn't create Adam because God was like, you know, I really just don't feel like doing the yard today.
David Spoon:So I think I'll just create some people and let them do the yard.
David Spoon:That was not why Adam and Eve were created.
David Spoon:God came in the cool of the evening, which is the cool of the day, which was the evening time, and fellowshipped.
David Spoon:That's why man was created.
David Spoon:And when you hang out with God and fellowship with God, you're touching to your purpose of existence.
David Spoon:That's why it makes everything right, no matter what's going on.
David Spoon:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:Luke 9:26.
David Spoon:If anybody is ashamed of me or my words, I will be ashamed of him.
David Spoon:When I come in, the Father's in glory with the Father's glory is what he said.
David Spoon:And if you're ashamed of what Jesus had to say, he'll be ashamed of you.
David Spoon: to Revelation: David Spoon:And you think, well, how is that?
David Spoon:Because John, chapter one, verse one and two, says that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
David Spoon: , all the way to Revelation: David Spoon:There you go.
David Spoon:Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words ever.
David Spoon:So D draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:A Always be ready to serve.
David Spoon:Are you ready?
David Spoon:Did you ever have somebody pick you up?
David Spoon:You're going on a trip?
David Spoon:Let's say you're going to a football game, a baseball game, a hockey game, or you're going to a concert or school play, or you're going to.
David Spoon:You're just gonna go shop together, you're just gonna go do this, you're gonna run errands together, whatever, and they come and pick you up.
David Spoon:It's a pretty simple thing.
David Spoon:When the person pulls up in the car, are you ready?
David Spoon:You ready to go?
David Spoon:That's all I'm asking.
David Spoon:That's all God wants.
David Spoon:Are you ready?
David Spoon:You ready to get in the car?
David Spoon:Ready to go?
David Spoon:Ready to hit it?
David Spoon:Let's go road trip.
David Spoon:I mean, ready.
David Spoon:That's so simply what's being asked in whatever capacity there is to be ready.
David Spoon:Isn't that cool?
David Spoon:That's just a great way to think of it, right?
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:A Always be ready to serve.
David Spoon:I am loving this show.
David Spoon:Just to let you know, I'm having more fun than all of you.
David Spoon:Ha ha.
David Spoon:For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves.
David Spoon:It is the blank of God.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:We just kind of ran out of time.
David Spoon:I want to make sure you understand what this says in verse 31 of Romans 8.
David Spoon:This is out of the NLT New Living Translation.
David Spoon:It'll say a little different.
David Spoon:Some other translations.
David Spoon:That's all right.
David Spoon:You're a big boy or girl.
David Spoon:You can handle it.
David Spoon:What can we say about such wonderful things as these?
David Spoon:He was talking about all of these wonderful things, the things that all work out together for good.
David Spoon:The fact that the Holy Spirit prays for us with words that cannot be uttered.
David Spoon:The reality check that in verse 18, whatever we're suffering through now is not worthy to be compared to the glory that's coming after.
David Spoon:And so the apostle's writing and he's kind of doing accumulation.
David Spoon:It's like, look, all this great stuff.
David Spoon:The Holy Spirit speaking deep in our hearts.
David Spoon:And we know that what's coming is totally awesome.
David Spoon:And we're children of God, and we're going to share in his glory.
David Spoon:And there's nothing you're going to go through that's Even worth to be put on the same plane.
David Spoon:And, oh, by the way, God is going to cause all things to work together for good.
David Spoon:And this is all because he wants you to share in him and share with his glory.
David Spoon:And it's phenomenal.
David Spoon:And then he says this.
David Spoon:What can we say about such wonderful things as these?
David Spoon:Kind of dropping it on everybody.
David Spoon:What do you got to say about all that?
David Spoon:And here's his conclusion.
David Spoon:Here's how he concludes the matter up to this point in verse 31.
David Spoon:If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
David Spoon:If you are a child of the most High God, God is for you.
David Spoon:Who can be against you and who cares?
David Spoon:Because God is for you.
David Spoon:I know this is kind of crazy math.
David Spoon:And I'm one of those people that very, very committed to this principle of life, okay?
David Spoon:Numbers don't lie.
David Spoon:People that use numbers lie.
David Spoon:Studies don't lie.
David Spoon:People that write the studies lie.
David Spoon:The lying is in the people, not in the other things.
David Spoon:And here's the greatest thing you got to know about math.
David Spoon:Is all math perfect the way that we think it should be?
David Spoon:No.
David Spoon:I'll tell you why.
David Spoon:Why?
David Spoon:Because God plus you equals majority, period.
David Spoon:That's not a lie.
David Spoon:That's the truth.
David Spoon:That goes way past.
David Spoon:That's not factual.
David Spoon:Let me explain something to you.
David Spoon:God and you.
David Spoon:That is majority.
David Spoon:Because God is majority, period.
David Spoon:And so if God is for us, who can be against us?
David Spoon:Who cares?
David Spoon:God is for you.
David Spoon:If he was against you, if he was against you, you'd have no chance.
David Spoon:But he's not.
David Spoon:That's why he's given you 9,000 chances.
David Spoon:That's why he's definitively told you time and time again he loves you.
David Spoon:He reaffirms his love more than we reaffirm love for people in our lives or pets or anything else, including ourselves.
David Spoon:Because he is that, that good.
David Spoon:He is that kind.
David Spoon:He is that gracious.
David Spoon:Do you understand?
David Spoon:Think of this.
David Spoon:Think of this.
David Spoon:God is for you.
David Spoon:Okay, that's good.
David Spoon:Yeah, that's good.
David Spoon:Of course it is.
David Spoon:It's not only good, it's phenomenal.
David Spoon:What can you say to all that?
David Spoon:Well, I think we could start off by saying thank you maybe more often than we say, what about now?
David Spoon:What about now?
David Spoon:What about now?
David Spoon:Maybe we can say thank you.
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:Crazy me.
David Spoon:For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves.
David Spoon:It is the blank of God.
David Spoon:And the answer is gift of God.
David Spoon:It is the gift.
David Spoon:Your salvation is a gift.
David Spoon:Say thank you when you get A gift.
David Spoon:All right, folks, we'll take a short break and then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break.
David Spoon:We'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
David Spoon:What is the David Spoon Experience?
David Spoon:She thought he was a gardener, sir.
David Spoon:She said, if you have taken him away, tell me where you've put him and I will go and get him.
David Spoon:Mary, Jesus said, now you think.
David Spoon:Three words.
David Spoon:Come on, Dave.
David Spoon:Mary, Jesus said.
David Spoon:She turned to him and cried out, rabboni, which is Hebrew for teacher or it doesn't matter if your translation says master.
David Spoon:Rabbi, that's not.
David Spoon:She said, Mary, she responded, master, Lord, you see, the resurrected Jesus Christ speaks the name of his sheep.
David Spoon:And Jesus knows your name.
David Spoon:My sheep, Jesus said, know my voice and they hear me.
David Spoon:And you were going along in your journey.
David Spoon:Maybe you were young and you were in church.
David Spoon:Maybe you were young and somebody brought it to you.
David Spoon:Maybe you were in middle.
David Spoon:The middle part of your life.
David Spoon:Maybe in the later part of your life.
David Spoon:But at some point, Jesus said your name.
David Spoon:He said, david, Tiara, Tiffany, Noel, Joshua, Ashley.
David Spoon:At some point, he called your name.
David Spoon:The risen Messiah spoke your name to you.
David Spoon:You know what?
David Spoon:That's when you said, yes, Lord.
David Spoon:Yes, master.
David Spoon:Yes, Rabboni.
David Spoon:It's the most powerful moment because it's the moment that the divine Messiah speaks to you and pulls you from one kingdom, the kingdom of darkness, into another kingdom, the kingdom of light.
David Spoon:It is the moment that changed everything.
David Spoon:And Billy Graham had a really good piece on it, said some people can really define that moment, some people can't.
David Spoon:It doesn't matter.
David Spoon:It happened.
David Spoon:For those.
David Spoon:That was kind of like a metamorphosis, but it happened.
David Spoon:And in the economy of God, it happens more specifically.
David Spoon:And maybe the person doesn't know the day.
David Spoon:I know my date, but maybe the person doesn't know the date that he said yes to Jesus.
David Spoon:But there was a moment where Jesus called your name and you said yes, and that was the beginning of your understanding of his depth of love.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.
David Spoon:The as Ka Men 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Now, remember, if you want to reach us, you gotta call.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:But after the show, you can use that Texting number.
David Spoon:So just for people to know that, because that's how we do text during the show.
David Spoon:Plus, also, you can always email davidemustincrease.org okay, so we do have somebody on the phone.
David Spoon:Let's go ahead and send them through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Ann:Hello.
David Spoon:Hello, Is this Ann?
Ann:Dr.
Ann:David?
Ann:Yes.
Ann:I wanted to call.
Ann:This is the elderly lady that calls you and asks you for prayer.
David Spoon:Yep.
Ann:How I'm struggling with something again.
Ann:I'm worried.
Ann:I just found out Sunday, and then I didn't get all the details until last night.
Ann:It's concerning my sister.
Ann:And, you know, I've told you that she helps me to get my groceries and.
Ann:And, you know, does things to try to help me out because I'm by myself, you know.
Ann:Well, she had something that's come up.
Ann:Well, she come by one day last week, and I noticed that her bottom lip was swelled up real, real big.
Ann:But she never did explain nothing about what was going on.
Ann:And she'd been to the doctor.
Ann:So then I found out I got to talk to her last night, and she went to the dermatologist, and she had a red spot on one side inside the lip, and then a white spot on the other side.
Ann:And so he asked her, she went to a real good dermatologist if she'd been out in the sun a lot and if she had been using anything, you know, to protect your lips from the sun.
Ann:And she said, well, yeah, she, you know, she does.
Ann:She does all that.
Ann:And so anyway, he thinks that it's caused from the sun, but he was also kind of hinting around it could be cancer.
Ann:So he gave her some kind of medicine to put on it for two weeks to try to dry the two places up.
Ann:It looks bad.
Ann:It's swells real big, you know, and she said it hurts to talk and eat.
Ann:She has to drink through a straw because it's bothering her a lot.
Ann:So this medicine she has to use for two weeks, and she said one side does look a little bit better.
Ann:But then he wants her to come back when she gets through with that.
Ann:Madison was then put Vaseline on it to keep it from drying up, I guess.
Ann:But then she's got to go back and see him again.
Ann:So then he's going to determine, you know, what to do further on.
Ann:But it, you know, me being by myself and I'm worrying about her because I depend on her so much.
Ann:And she checks on me, calls to see if I'm all right, if I need Anything, you know, And I told you, nobody else does that.
David Spoon:Right, Right.
Ann:And, you know, I just can't lose my sister.
Ann:She's healthy.
Ann:She is very healthy person.
David Spoon:Well, let's.
David Spoon:We should pray for her.
David Spoon:Let's pray for her, for the Lord to heal that.
Ann:Okay.
David Spoon:Like, let's pray that the Lord.
Ann:I don't want her, you know, I don't want anything to happen.
Ann:I don't want it to be cancer.
David Spoon:I got you.
Ann:If it is, that she can go to a real good cancer doctor.
Ann:Because, you know, people get all these spots on their bodies that from the sun, and they go and have them lasered off, you know, their arms, their ears, the men that work out in the sun all the time.
Ann:I know man that, you know, has to go through all of that.
Ann:So I'm hoping that they can, you know, take care of this.
Ann:And it doesn't stop praying, get worse.
David Spoon:Okay, what's her name?
Ann:Leona.
David Spoon:Well, let's pray for Leona right now.
David Spoon:How about that?
David Spoon:Let's do it right now and ask God to help.
David Spoon:We need to do that.
David Spoon:We need God's help.
David Spoon:So let's pray.
David Spoon:Let's pray.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now and we thank you for Ann, and we ask you to bless Ann again.
David Spoon:I'm asking you, Lord, and I'll keep asking you, that you would give her this courage inside of her, this strength and confidence that even though she's feeling frail and feels that at times things are kind of like, very difficult, that, Lord, you would let her know that you are with her and that because she fears you, that your angels encampeth around her.
David Spoon:And she doesn't have to be afraid.
David Spoon:She can stand firm in her faith, trusting you.
David Spoon:But she has her sister Leona, and Leona has got an issue, and it's a serious issue.
David Spoon:We're hoping it's not as serious as it could be, but it's still very difficult for Leona.
David Spoon:It makes hard for Leona to be able to help Ann or for Leona to do anything.
David Spoon:So we're asking you in the name of Jesus and by the stripes that come through the body of Jesus Christ, according to 1 Peter 2:24 and Isaiah 53, 5, that by his stripes we are healed, that you would bring healing power into Leona's mouth, into that lip situation.
David Spoon:Lord, we do pray that the doctor would have wisdom and use all of that wisdom that you've granted that is on the right side of things, and that would turn out to be a blessing.
David Spoon:But we are asking you to accelerate the process and let Leona recover much more quickly than anybody anticipates.
David Spoon:And we'll know it's because you're touching her, Lord.
David Spoon:We don't have the power to do it, but you do.
David Spoon:All things are possible with you, Lord.
David Spoon:And so we offer up our faith, a prayer of faith, saying, please bring your healing power into Leona, into her situation, into her lip.
David Spoon:Bring that healing power and let her recover quickly.
David Spoon:And please pour upon Ann's heart a comfort and a protection so she can feel safe because you're with her.
David Spoon:We lift up this family.
David Spoon:We ask you to bless them.
David Spoon:We ask you to watch over them, protect them, and let them know they are loved and cared for and prayed for.
David Spoon:And you respond to that because you are the king of the universe.
David Spoon:Take care of your daughter.
David Spoon:Take care of your other daughter.
David Spoon:Heal them, help them, encourage them, strengthen them and restore them.
David Spoon:We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
David Spoon:Amen and amen.
Ann:Amen.
Ann:I thank you.
Ann:I should have said Rosie.
David Spoon:Oh, was that her name?
David Spoon:Rosie?
David Spoon:I think.
Ann:I think the name Rosie.
David Spoon:Well, you know what?
David Spoon:It's okay.
Ann:I'm just not really thinking too straight today.
David Spoon:Well, that's okay, because God knows her name.
David Spoon:That's the thing to remember, right?
Joy Ann:Yes, sir.
Ann:All right, Anne, I thank you very much.
David Spoon:You're welcome.
David Spoon:God bless you.
Ann:God bless you, too, sir.
David Spoon:Okay, bye bye.
Ann:Bye bye.
David Spoon:All right, so there's another person that would be really good person for you to pick up as a Feb buddy, praying for Ann.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:She's got a lot of things going on.
David Spoon:Why don't you pray for Ann?
David Spoon:That'd be great.
David Spoon:That'd be awesome.
David Spoon:By the way, I want to pray for Jeanette real quickly because we did say we're going to pray for her.
David Spoon:She got through her migraine, but she gets migraines.
David Spoon:And so let's stay on the same vein because we want to be taking care of one another.
David Spoon:Don't you if you're hurting, do you want somebody to be praying for you?
David Spoon:Do you want somebody to care about you when you're hurting?
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:What a man sows, that shall he also reap.
David Spoon:And so those that are refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
David Spoon:And in that same principle, when you're praying for other people, you'll have other people praying for you.
David Spoon:That's pretty good, right?
David Spoon:So let's pray for Jeanette.
David Spoon:Father, we lift up Jeanette to you.
David Spoon:We do.
David Spoon:Thank you for Ann and for her sister Rosie.
David Spoon:And we just Ask you to bless them in that situation.
David Spoon:Comfort Ann.
David Spoon:But we lift up Jeanette to you, who's getting through the migraines and she's having super, super victories in different places, but still gets through these challenges on a constant basis.
David Spoon:So, Lord, we are asking you just to give her freedom from that pain, that migraine pain that really takes over and kind of shuts her down.
David Spoon:She needs help and she needs encouragement.
David Spoon:Not just from us, Lord, she needs it from you.
David Spoon:So for Jeanette, encourage her, lift her up, put a song in her mouth, a new song in her mouth, put her feet on the rock and bring healing power for the things that she's going through, these afflictions.
David Spoon:Let the enemy be cast aside and let your grace and your healing power prevail.
David Spoon:Her heart is for you, Lord.
David Spoon:Show her your heart is for her.
David Spoon:We pray for her in Jesus name.
David Spoon:Amen and Amen.
David Spoon:Okay, cool.
David Spoon:I like this.
David Spoon:I like it because we're doing teaching and prayer, which is kind of like my overall preference, just in case you're wondering.
David Spoon:I do want to just enter into the verse.
David Spoon:We'll do it for about two or three minutes and then we'll do our quick exit and then we'll do some of the other things that we're going to do.
David Spoon:Here is verse 32.
David Spoon:Since God did not spare even his own son, but gave him up for us all, won't God, who gave us Christ also give us everything else?
David Spoon:Before we get into the depth of that, here's the thing.
David Spoon:Sometimes in Christianity we get these thought processes going.
David Spoon:And so I actually believe some of these are either demonic or sin oriented.
David Spoon:I know it's terrible to say that, but it's true.
David Spoon:And what we think is that God had to make a play for humanity, so he gave us Jesus Christ, but after that, he doesn't really.
David Spoon:There's nothing after that.
David Spoon:And you see, what I'm trying to get to is we allow that thinking to sink in and we've got to be careful against that because that's just the enemy trying to thwart the true image of God.
David Spoon:And right here in scripture, you see, right in the scripture, God didn't.
David Spoon:I mean, he didn't spare his own son and he gave us Christ.
David Spoon:How won't he take care of everything else?
David Spoon:But we get stuck in.
David Spoon:Well, he had to save us.
David Spoon:So, yeah, Jesus is for everybody, but doing something special for me, I don't know.
David Spoon:That's the enemy.
David Spoon:That's not God.
David Spoon:That's the enemy.
David Spoon:Attacking faith.
David Spoon:Yes, that's exactly what the verse says.
David Spoon:In fact, it's not just there.
David Spoon:John 1:16.
David Spoon:How will he not give us one blessing after another since he gave us Jesus?
David Spoon:The whole point of this is to understand God's continual graciousness.
David Spoon:No, he doesn't do it the way you tell him to.
David Spoon:He's not lame.
David Spoon:I was going to say stupid, but then I decided to change my mind.
David Spoon:He gives it the perfect way.
David Spoon:It should be given in the exact time.
David Spoon:It should be given, manifested exactly how he wants it to be manifested.
David Spoon:But no, he's not going to do it according to your timetable because your timetable is not good like his.
David Spoon:That's why.
David Spoon:And so we've got to have this attitude, this disposition of, you know, if God gave us Jesus, there's so many things he would love to give us.
David Spoon:Nothing will be better than Jesus, but there's so many wonderful other things he wants to give us.
David Spoon:For you and I to think differently is to not listen to the truth.
David Spoon:That's why God wrote it down.
David Spoon:Get that.
David Spoon:Okay, we'll take a short break, come back.
David Spoon:We got a lot still to do.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break, we'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
David Spoon:Like any person searching for answers, I too have wondered about him.
David Spoon:He has a weird sense of humor.
David Spoon:If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?
David Spoon:No, I don't think so.
David Spoon:Those big ears really don't help.
David Spoon:Will people enjoy his perspective on culture, politics, food, sports and local and national news?
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:He's just a client.
David Spoon:Tune in to the David Spoon Experience on kaam.
David Spoon:What is the David Spoon Experience?
David Spoon:Bibles are very cool looking.
David Spoon:You can have them electronically.
David Spoon:You can have them in your phone, you have them in your computer.
David Spoon:There's tons of apps.
David Spoon:There's also cool looking book Bibles.
David Spoon:I mean, there's a lot of stuff out there.
David Spoon:It's great.
David Spoon:Here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:All that's fancy and fantastic and useless if you don't read it and believe it and process it.
David Spoon:For those that are trying to figure out, first of all, well, why is it that the Bible is its own unique enemy?
David Spoon:What's the deal in that?
David Spoon:Well, the same breath that went into creating Adam, which was creating creation of man, that same breath went into the bible.
David Spoon:And so 2 Timothy 3:16 says, all scripture is God breathed.
David Spoon:That's the breath of God.
David Spoon:And the breath of God that went into Adam is the breath of God that goes into the book, which is why this is a unique book.
David Spoon:And then people get really upset and they go, well, hold on now, hold on now, Dave.
David Spoon:The problem there is that there's just so many people that have been a part of writing the Bible.
David Spoon:In fact, There are about 40 authors spanning about 3,000 years in all different types of positions in life.
David Spoon:But here is the great thing about Christian faith.
David Spoon:If you believe that God created the universe, you are going to step out on that big ledge and go, well, if he created the universe, he can probably write a book.
David Spoon:Well, the amazing part about the book itself is not just the self proclamations of the book, but you get into the prophecies and it is an amazing, amazing element that every single prophecy has been fulfilled.
David Spoon:Exactly.
David Spoon:And yet there are some to come and we will see those fulfilled.
David Spoon:But while you're engaging in the Word of God, here's something you need to be aware of that Christians do not recognize.
David Spoon:That that word where it says for the word of God is alive is zone in the Greek.
David Spoon:If we were doing a Greek word, that'd be zone.
David Spoon:And that word means alive to live.
David Spoon:Jesus used that word in Revelation chapter 1, verse 18, where he says, behold, I am alive and I live forevermore.
David Spoon:Same word.
David Spoon:And the Word of God is alive.
David Spoon:And you think this is just a book.
David Spoon:It is just a book.
David Spoon:Except for when you are reading the Word of God and the Holy Spirit connects you to the Word of God, it becomes something altogether different.
Joy Ann:Foreign.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the truce station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's Ka Men 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:We're going to take a slight detour.
David Spoon:We're going to pray real quickly for Sabrina Murphy and for her family.
David Spoon:So we're gonna pray that first and then I'm gonna send you to the website and then we're gonna take a call.
David Spoon:So just hang in there.
David Spoon:Cause this is all really cool stuff.
David Spoon:So Sabrina Murphy wrote, actually she left me a voicemail and said that she needs prayer for herself and her family.
David Spoon:Like right now they have big transitions taking place, money's tight and her dad may be getting a job tomorrow.
David Spoon:And so that's really good.
David Spoon:But they just need to be covered in their situation.
David Spoon:So let's just take a moment and pray for them real quickly for Sabrina and her family.
David Spoon:So just stretch your faith.
David Spoon:And again, as a Feb buddy, you might take this on and say, oh, you know, I'm gonna start praying for Sabrina.
David Spoon:So here's here.
David Spoon:Let's just go before the Lord in prayer.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now and we thank you for Sabrina.
David Spoon:And we ask you, Lord God, that you would help them in this tremendous transitioning period, that while they're going through what they're going through, there would not be that fear.
David Spoon:And there is a lot of fear for a lot of people, Lord.
David Spoon:And we come against that because you have not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
David Spoon:And so we're asking you to bless the dad, bless the family, bless Sabrina and their whole situation.
David Spoon:It's difficult, Lord.
David Spoon:It's difficult not to succumb to the circumstances.
David Spoon:But that happens, Lord, when we take our eyes off of you.
David Spoon:So help Sabrina and her whole family to get a strong, fixed vision on you.
David Spoon:Immovable.
David Spoon:And we're asking you to help that family and to bless them and to give them the graces they need, the open doors they need, the opportunities they need, the blessings they need.
David Spoon:And let it come from your hand and let that again be a testimony.
David Spoon:We're for that, Lord.
David Spoon:We want more testimonies about you.
David Spoon:Answer these prayers as only you can, and there will be more testimonies to glorify your name as only you can do it.
David Spoon:That's what we pray for.
David Spoon:In Jesus name.
David Spoon:Amen.
David Spoon:And amen.
David Spoon:All right, I am going to send you up to the website and then we're going to take our phone call.
David Spoon:So let's make sure we all stay on track.
David Spoon:I've already told you, we had kind of a tough month, about a tough month and a half as it is now.
David Spoon:And so we're looking for people.
David Spoon:If you can't give, we're looking for people to pray for us because we need the prayer warriors to petition heaven.
David Spoon:And yes, we believe God is generous.
David Spoon:Actually, I think the Lord allows this to create a greater sense of unity.
David Spoon:That's just my guess.
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:I could be wrong.
David Spoon:I mean, it could be a bazillion things.
David Spoon:I'm not God.
David Spoon:I don't tell him how to do things.
David Spoon:But one thing I know for sure, if he gave us Jesus, we're in good stead for the other things we petition.
David Spoon:So check out the website.
David Spoon:Plus, on the website, there's two interviews that you guys probably haven't seen.
David Spoon:Plus I added something very, very cool.
David Spoon:I'm not gonna tell you what it is.
David Spoon:You gotta look, check it out on hemustincrease.org prayer request.
David Spoon:Hemostincrease.org praise report hemousincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.
David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.
David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org I'm so happy now.
David Spoon:I'm just happy now.
David Spoon:Thank you for that sound.
David Spoon:All right, we do have somebody on the line.
David Spoon:Let's go ahead and send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Joy Ann:Hi, David.
Joy Ann:Dr.
Joy Ann:David, this is Joy Ann.
Joy Ann:I'm just loving the show.
Joy Ann:Thank you so much for taking my call.
David Spoon:Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely.
David Spoon:What's happening?
Joy Ann:Yeah, and listen first, thank you so much for all the prayers you're praying for people.
Joy Ann:And I love the, the prayer you prayed over.
Joy Ann:Tyler.
Joy Ann:Yes.
Joy Ann:And his marriage needs.
Joy Ann:I was reading in my Bible today Psalm 118.
Joy Ann:It's just so beautiful.
Joy Ann:But there's a verse that says, I called to the Lord in distress.
Joy Ann:The Lord answered me and put me in a spacious place.
Joy Ann:And in my Bible I wrote this two and a half years ago.
Joy Ann:I said, please give me a bigger and safer home.
Joy Ann:And he has.
Joy Ann:I'm in my Jesus house right now and I would love to ask prayer for a friend who's in a very similar situation as I was.
David Spoon:Okay?
Joy Ann:She's beautiful lady and I saw her, she sent a prayer text to a group of US ladies, Wednesday night prayer group, 20 ladies.
Joy Ann:And it was such a heart wrenching prayer request.
Joy Ann:And I'm going to tell her after the show that I called into you all because I know you'll pray and you'll love on this.
Joy Ann:Dear lady, her name is Martha, okay?
Joy Ann:She's been married over 30 years.
Joy Ann:Very faithful, wonderful Christian woman.
Joy Ann:And she experienced the same thing that I did.
Joy Ann:And my heart is touched for her, Dr.
Joy Ann:Dave, because her husband broke his vows to her.
Joy Ann:And she's so beautiful and lovely and sweet.
Joy Ann:I mean, I just, I can't think of anybody who's so deserving of a good husband and a marriage.
Joy Ann:But that doesn't always happen.
Joy Ann:And in life things do come up.
Joy Ann:But I, I'm on the back end of all that.
Joy Ann:My marriage crisis began five and a half years ago and now I'm in a beautiful home and I mean, the Lord is taking care of me, but I'm asking for prayer for Martha.
Joy Ann:Her four children love her.
Joy Ann:They know the Lord.
Joy Ann:But her husband has just gone off the rails.
Joy Ann:And financially she's now in crisis and she just wants to follow the Lord.
Joy Ann:But in the text, she said to the group, she said she just does not know how she can carry on.
Joy Ann:I know that feeling.
Joy Ann:She says she's so depressed and is crying, but she loves the Lord.
Joy Ann:So my peers are for this friend of mine.
Joy Ann:So thank you for praying for her.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:No question about it.
David Spoon:That is what you just described.
David Spoon:And I remember talking to you way back.
David Spoon:So we've talked for many years at this point.
David Spoon:And it's important for people to know this kind of thing does happen.
David Spoon:It's not.
David Spoon:Nobody wants it to happen.
David Spoon:Nobody should want it to happen.
David Spoon:My daughter asked me, dad, why would this kind of stuff happen, like, to us, what happened to them with Easter and so on and so forth?
David Spoon:And the reason is, and I'm going to be really honest about it, I want people to be really thoughtful of this.
David Spoon:That is because this world has sin in it.
David Spoon:And that is the ultimate result of all of these hopelessness, these heartaches, these discouragements, these breaks, these moments, these darkness.
David Spoon:All of that is what sin actually brought in.
David Spoon:And that's why I want we should really understand how evil it all is.
David Spoon:But we're going to pray for Martha because knowing the Lord gives her that advantage that some people will never have.
David Spoon:And that is there is yet hope for redemption.
David Spoon:There is hope for restoration, There is hope for healing, and there is hope for a new life.
David Spoon:No matter how far gone it seems or wherever it is at, the Lord is right there for his kids.
David Spoon:So I want to pray for her along those lines.
David Spoon:I don't know all of the information because I'm just hearing it from you now, but what I believe is that God will not abandon Martha and she needs hope.
David Spoon:That's what I'm hearing.
David Spoon:And so we want to pray.
David Spoon:Exactly.
David Spoon:We want to pray that.
David Spoon:Yep.
David Spoon:Okay, let's.
Joy Ann:Yeah.
Joy Ann:Her business has languished due to the betrayal, so financially, she's in a very difficult spot, too.
Joy Ann:So thank you.
David Spoon:All right, let's pray along those lines.
David Spoon:Let's do it.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now, and I thank you for Joanne.
David Spoon:I thank you for how far you've brought Joanne, what a miracle testimony her life has become.
David Spoon:And I don't want to say that she's gone through it so she can help others, but she's probably gone through it so she can help others.
David Spoon:And we're just asking you to give her the courage and the wisdom and the insights whenever she's talking with people, to be that blessing, to be that voice of encouragement, to be that voice of hope in your name.
David Spoon:But now we lift up Martha to you and she doesn't know what she's going to do financially.
David Spoon:It looks like everything just ceased, like the pipe turned off and there's nothing else coming out.
David Spoon:And Lord, we are asking for you to protect her financially, of course.
David Spoon:But before we get to that, Lord, I want to pray for her heart because that's the thing that gets pierced.
David Spoon:That's the thing that money can't do anything about.
David Spoon:Those emotional stabs and those wounds are difficult.
David Spoon:They're life ending for some people.
David Spoon:So we're asking you not to let it be that way for Martha, but instead that you would birth in her not just a seed, but a tree of hope that there would be birthed in her a large, strong, steadfast hope that would give her this sense of confidence, of provision, of protection.
David Spoon:Lord, it's as though the tree would be something that gives her shade plus supplies her with food, give her that sense of hope, strong, steadfast, with roots that go deep down.
David Spoon:We are asking you to break that spirit of fear which we know it's there, Lord, break that spirit of fear, that anxiety, the frustration, but most importantly the desperation.
David Spoon:Because she feels like she's just been abandoned.
David Spoon:And she needs to know you will not leave her out on a limb.
David Spoon:You will not let her go, you will not forget her, you will not ignore her, but that you will help her and she can count on you, she can depend on you, she can lean on you and find strength and she can lean on brothers and sisters.
David Spoon:And Lord, if you do redemption in that one way and restore it, great.
David Spoon:But Lord, protect her heart.
David Spoon:And if there's no redemption on the one end, then give her redemption on the other end.
David Spoon:Don't let the locusts win and eating away and eating away the field.
David Spoon:Don't let them win.
David Spoon:Give her favor.
David Spoon:Give her favor and grace and let her know the peace that passes understanding.
David Spoon:Push her past it, Pull her past it any way you got to.
David Spoon:Get her past it.
David Spoon:Lord, protect Martha and watch over her.
David Spoon:Those that are hers and her family bring healing and move out the hurt.
David Spoon:And we pray this in the only name we could ever ask you in.
David Spoon:In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen and Amen.
Joy Ann:Oh, amen.
Joy Ann:Thank you, Dr.
Joy Ann:David.
Joy Ann:And you know how the Holy Spirit moves.
Joy Ann:Ann mentioned her sister.
Joy Ann:She accidentally called her Leona instead of Rosie.
Joy Ann:And there is a Leona in my prayer group who we prayed for her husband to be saved and he did get saved.
Joy Ann:It was such a miraculous story.
Ann:Such.
Joy Ann:So, you know, for what that's worth, I think that Leona wasn't an accident when Ann mentioned that, because God does answer prayers for.
Joy Ann:In a variety of ways.
Joy Ann:So thank you.
Joy Ann:Love you.
Joy Ann:Bless you and all the audience.
Joy Ann:Thanks for praying for my beautiful friend Martha.
Joy Ann:And I'll keep you posted.
David Spoon:Okay, awesome, awesome.
David Spoon:Let her know we'll be praying for her.
Joy Ann:Okay, thank you.
Joy Ann:Appreciate it so much.
Joy Ann:Bye.
Joy Ann:Bye.
David Spoon:All right, so that's another person that some people can listen to, right?
David Spoon:They can say, hey, I'm going to pray for Martha, because she's going through that now.
David Spoon:I know that Joanna and Cordelia are going to pray for her, but that doesn't mean you should pray for her, too.
David Spoon:And you don't have to spend a lot of time doing it.
David Spoon:That's what I'm trying to tell you.
David Spoon:This is where I think, where we intercede for people.
David Spoon:We think people go, and then they just splash their face with water and hit their head against a piece of wood.
David Spoon:Stop it.
David Spoon:Bring your petition before the Lord.
David Spoon:Ask the Lord to help her.
David Spoon:Now, I do have a praise report that just came in from Al.
David Spoon:So we've been praying a lot and we've been asking for praise reports, you know.
David Spoon:Well, we got one.
David Spoon:We prayed for Al's daughter.
David Spoon:Remember the lease situation?
David Spoon:He just sent a text in.
David Spoon:I know it's late, but my daughter got her lease approved.
David Spoon:And the credit mark has been.
David Spoon:That was bad against her has been removed.
David Spoon:Praise the Lord.
David Spoon:Direct answer to prayer.
David Spoon:That's because God answers prayer.
David Spoon:That's why we pray.
David Spoon:Pray.
David Spoon:We're not doing this because we're religious.
David Spoon:I'm really anti religious.
David Spoon:You guys have got to get to know me.
David Spoon:I'm very not that way.
David Spoon:I just believe that God really cares and that he loves us.
David Spoon:And I think what we're missing in a lot of this is maybe more this simplistic understanding.
David Spoon:Because what we want is we want God to do certain things, certain ways, which is us telling God how to be God.
David Spoon:That's dumb.
David Spoon:Okay, you can't do that.
David Spoon:Don't do that.
David Spoon:I do it, too, but I come before the Lord and I say, I'm sorry.
David Spoon:I'm doing this because we do stuff like this.
David Spoon:Don't do that.
David Spoon:What you wanna do is you come before the Lord and you bring it to him.
David Spoon:Just exactly what I read today.
David Spoon: Again, Mark: David Spoon: llenge everybody to read Mark: David Spoon:Look at the four ways the fourth elements that were in that teaching that Is so clear that when Jesus knew his time was coming, he comes before it.
David Spoon:And the first thing he says is, abba, Father.
David Spoon:Now think of that first thing Jesus says, daddy, dad, dad, that's number one.
David Spoon:And then the second thing he says is, you can do all things.
David Spoon:What excellent demonstration and illustration of faith, dad, you can do anything.
David Spoon:And then he gives his petition, take this cup from me.
David Spoon:And then he gives his surrender.
David Spoon:Nevertheless, not my will, but thy will be done.
David Spoon:That's not a lack of faith to surrender it to the will of God.
David Spoon:Abba, Father.
David Spoon:Number one, knowing where you're addressing your prayer, number two, you can do anything.
David Spoon:That is faith.
David Spoon:Number three, this is what I want.
David Spoon:Know what you want, or ask God to help you define it.
David Spoon:That's why I think Jesus said to those people, like to the blind people, what do you want?
David Spoon:I don't think it's difficult for people to go, he's blind.
David Spoon:He wants to see.
David Spoon:But Jesus wanted them to specify, and they did.
David Spoon:And he asked that, by the way, more than once.
David Spoon:So there's got to be something there.
David Spoon:And then he puts in that surrender.
David Spoon:Because the will of God is what must be done.
David Spoon:Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done.
David Spoon:That's the way of saying, thy will be done.
David Spoon:Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.
David Spoon: it to God just there in Mark: David Spoon:When Jesus faced his hardest trial, that's how he approached it.
David Spoon:Abba, you can do anything.
David Spoon:This is what I want.
David Spoon:But your will be done.
David Spoon:I mean, it's not a formula.
David Spoon:Just do what he did.
David Spoon:That's all we got to do.
David Spoon:And you're thinking, you know, I know David, but I know Jesus.
David Spoon:He loves me and stuff.
David Spoon:But I don't know if God will do it.
David Spoon:I just got to say this to you.
David Spoon:You don't know that God won't do it.
David Spoon:But if your faith is that lousy that he won't do it, maybe that tells you what you got to know is kind of what I'm trying to say in a nice way, as nice a way as I can say it.
David Spoon:Here's the deal.
David Spoon:The deal is we do this show.
David Spoon:I get to do some teachings, which is fun for me.
David Spoon:I do a lot of studying.
David Spoon:So it is a lot of fun, right?
David Spoon:We do some of these goofy things.
David Spoon:We talk about saltwater taffy, right?
David Spoon:We talk about all these different things.
David Spoon:Hey, here's the deal.
David Spoon:The deal is we are brothers and sisters, and there are times where you just Got to be brothers and sisters for one another.
David Spoon:Now, I will tell you right now, I can't believe I'm going to share this.
David Spoon:I have a strained relationship with family, especially with my family in Detroit.
David Spoon:But I will say that of late, the Lord has brought my sister and I much closer together.
David Spoon:She knows exactly where I stand and what I'm there for.
David Spoon:But she also knows that she can also ask me for prayer.
David Spoon:Prayer anytime.
David Spoon:Because I will pray for her no matter what, no matter what's going on.
David Spoon:I won't pray that the Lord will let her win her political battles.
David Spoon:I will pray that God will prevail.
David Spoon:And you know what?
David Spoon:She appreciates that.
David Spoon:So maybe after you get older, you get a little better at those things.
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:Maybe.
David Spoon:Here's what I want you to catch.
David Spoon:And this was the first thing that I said.
David Spoon:And I'll probably just redo it next week because it should be done.
David Spoon:And that is simply this.
David Spoon:God is generous in this vision that we have, this image that we have.
David Spoon:It's almost like Pharisaical.
David Spoon:Like we were talking in the first 25 minutes of the show how the Pharisees were all mad because God was doing healing in the temple.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:And the people, the children were crying out.
David Spoon:The young people were going, praise the Lord.
David Spoon:Praise the Lord.
David Spoon:And they're getting mad.
David Spoon:It's like, that's how we think.
David Spoon:Think of God.
David Spoon:Like, oh, that's not right.
David Spoon:You shouldn't be praising.
David Spoon:It's like, what is wrong with us?
David Spoon:God is doing marvelous things in many lives.
David Spoon:We should be rejoicing.
David Spoon:There's more revival going on around the world than we are aware of.
David Spoon:We just think the world centers around us.
David Spoon:It centers around Jesus, and it should never center anywhere else.
David Spoon:That's what it means.
David Spoon:Seek first the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:What does it mean to seek?
David Spoon:Colossians 3, 1, 2.
David Spoon:Seek the things in heaven.
David Spoon:Then the next verse.
David Spoon:Set your mind on things in heaven.
David Spoon:That is how you seek.
David Spoon:You set your mind and your heart to it.
David Spoon:We should be seeking first the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:How do we do that?
David Spoon:We set our hearts and minds for God's will to be done.
David Spoon:That is what it is to seek the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:That's why.
David Spoon:Of all the things that happened, you know why?
David Spoon:It says the books couldn't contain everything that Jesus had to say and do because he did so many miraculous things.
David Spoon:People's lives were changed.
David Spoon:That's what God will do for each and every one of us.
David Spoon:It's amazing.
David Spoon:I get more disappointed in myself that I don't have more confidence in God.
David Spoon:Like, what is wrong with me?
David Spoon:Not only did he save me, he keeps me and he still loves me.
David Spoon:It's amazing how good he is to us.
David Spoon:Just remember that if you don't get anything else out of this show, get that God is good to you.
David Spoon:Be sure to be thankful.
David Spoon:All right, folks, you have been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true story station here in Texas.

David Spoon:Talk to you then.
David Spoon:The views expressed on the preceding program were those of the speakers and not necessarily those of kaam, DJRD Broadcasting or its sponsors.
