David Spoon:Life lessons for our faith that we can actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance.
David Spoon:Humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?
David Spoon:Cause I keep sneaking into the studio at the right time.
David Spoon:Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
David Spoon:Living this life, not always easy running.
David Spoon:Oh.
David Spoon:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.
David Spoon:My name is Dr.
David Spoon:David Spoon.
David Spoon:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
David Spoon:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
David Spoon:Here is the key to the show.
David Spoon:We don't know what we're doing.
David Spoon:We have no idea what's gonna happen and we don't care.
David Spoon:But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk truth with you.
David Spoon:So here we go.
David Spoon:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
David Spoon:On Wednesdays, we've been having a little bit more fun on the questions.
David Spoon:And here's a question for you to ask somebody.
David Spoon:If you could ask Adam one question.
David Spoon:If you could ask Adam one question, which you'll be able to do when you're in heaven.
David Spoon:If you could ask him now, the one question.
David Spoon:If you could ask Adam one question, what would it be?
David Spoon:Huh?
David Spoon:What would it be?
David Spoon:That is what I'm asking you.
David Spoon:If you could ask Adam one question, what would it be?
David Spoon:If you have a response to that, if you have an opinion on something, a comment, a thought or a question, please don't let it die of loneliness that seems to be very sad.
David Spoon:Just reach out and give us a call.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Well, by golly, you'll end up talking to Jammin Jacob.
David Spoon:Talking to.
David Spoon:Talking to Jem and Jacob is like feeling confident that you have done your very best.
David Spoon:Thank you, David.
David Spoon:Happy Wednesday.
David Spoon:Happy Wednesday to you.
David Spoon:Anything happening today?
David Spoon:Everything going fairly normal as far as normal goes.
David Spoon:Everything's going as far as normal goes.
David Spoon:Everything's going normal so far today.
David Spoon:What about you?
David Spoon:Everything has been going great.
David Spoon:I've been about 30 minutes behind all day and I still feel like I'm in that exact same spot.
David Spoon:I'm still.
David Spoon:So just 30 minutes.
David Spoon:You being behind is the normal, right?
David Spoon:Yep.
David Spoon:Just a little bit behind.
David Spoon:Got a little caught up in my.
David Spoon:In my show prep.
David Spoon:Took me a little longer than I was anticipating, but that is okay.
David Spoon:Here we are to have the opportunity to bless one another and that's what we love.
David Spoon:And so we know you're going to keep praying for Don.
David Spoon:We know you're praying for Jennifer, and don't forget to pray for Jam and Jacob, who's got a lot going on and is also trying to get a sweet escape on Monday.
David Spoon:We'll see how that goes because he's got his jury duty.
David Spoon:We'll just see.
David Spoon:Can't say much about that.
David Spoon:Bottom line is simply this.
David Spoon:We want you to be able to touch base with us.
David Spoon:We want you to be able to call and talk.
David Spoon:There's a couple reasons why, but let's first make sure we have our points of contact.
David Spoon:That's what point of contact.
David Spoon:P O C.
David Spoon:That's what it stands for.
David Spoon:So one of the ways you can do that, as you know, is you can call the show.
David Spoon:Typically, we don't do too many mean things to people that call the show, at least not that I'm aware of.
David Spoon:You can also text by using your text phone.
David Spoon:Smartphone.
David Spoon:Those phones seem smarter than us.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Can't call that number because I can't answer it.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:David must increase dot org.
David Spoon:So that's all one thing.
David Spoon:David with a circle.
David Spoon:He must increase from John 3:30.
David Spoon:He must increase.
David Spoon:I must decrease because that's how we should be living our lives.org because we're a nonprofit corporation.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or you can send an email david crease.org real quickly.
David Spoon:I'll just reset it up for you real fast.
David Spoon:If you could ask Adam one question, if you could ask Adam one question, what would it be?
David Spoon:No.
David Spoon:There's your challenge.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:So why would you reach out to us?
David Spoon:That's always the interesting point.
David Spoon:You may reach out to us.
David Spoon:Cause you may have a praise report, something that's going on, a testimony, something you want to share that the Lord has done.
David Spoon:And the reason we like hearing that is, number one, it does reinforce it in your own lives.
David Spoon:But when you share what God is doing in your life with other people, it blesses them.
David Spoon:And Most importantly, Isaiah 43:7, it brings glory to the Lord.
David Spoon:That's the biggest element of all.
David Spoon:For that's one of the chief purposes of your creation, is to glorify the Lord.
David Spoon:So we give that opportunity.
David Spoon:Again.
David Spoon:If you have prayer requests, do you have things that are going on whether they're going well or not?
David Spoon:You don't always pray when things are going bad.
David Spoon:That's not how prayer works.
David Spoon:Prayer is communion with the Lord.
David Spoon:Sometimes you get in there and you say, I'm so appreciative of how you got me through this situation.
David Spoon:It's amazing.
David Spoon:That's a part of prayer too.
David Spoon:Just pray in disaster.
David Spoon:That's what a lot of Christians do, pray in disaster.
David Spoon:That's not the way you want to go about it.
David Spoon:You want to be praying continually, staying in constant contact with our Heavenly Father.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:That's what you want.
David Spoon:So we encourage that.
David Spoon:If you've got a prayer request, we'll join you in your struggle.
David Spoon:We'll pray.
David Spoon:We'll ask God's will to be done.
David Spoon:We'll ask him for favor and for grace.
David Spoon:Maybe we've got some physical things that need to be prayed for.
David Spoon:We're gonna be praying for Angelina in just a little bit.
David Spoon:She's got a surgery coming up in a couple hours.
David Spoon:We're also gonna be praying for Jeanette, who's going through testing kind of outside of her zone.
David Spoon:Actually.
David Spoon:She's had to stay in a hotel to be able to take this test because she doesn't live close enough by.
David Spoon:So we're going to pray for the two of them.
David Spoon:But we want you to have that opportunity to reach out in this time.
David Spoon:Additionally, maybe you've got something you want to share.
David Spoon:Maybe there's a scripture that the Lord has put on your heart and you are just like, I really want to share it.
David Spoon:Because it's really Blessing me, it's really challenging me.
David Spoon:It's really working in my system.
David Spoon:And I have that happen quite a bit where the Lord has me meditate on something and I just like, wow, wow, wow.
David Spoon:And it's a lot of growing in the Lord.
David Spoon:And I think one of the things that we tend to forget that those growings.
David Spoon:Let me say this again, those growings are all from the Lord that He helps us, he guides us, he directs us into these things.
David Spoon:It's just really cool, right?
David Spoon:So we want you to have that going on so you've got.
David Spoon:You can share something the Lord's put on your heart, anything that's going on.
David Spoon:And we're not against politics.
David Spoon:We understand.
David Spoon:And my biggest political position right now is, first of all, God is top center.
David Spoon:Don't sit there and say God's a Democrat or God's a Republican.
David Spoon:Don't say any of that.
David Spoon:God is top center.
David Spoon:He's the king of the universe.
David Spoon:Everything falls under him, period.
David Spoon:He is in charge.
David Spoon:And let's not be foolish enough where we don't understand what happened with Joshua when he met the warrior of God's army.
David Spoon:And this is when Joshua was in charge of Israel, the very people of God.
David Spoon:And Joshua said to him, are you for us or for our enemy?
David Spoon:And he said, neither.
David Spoon:I am for the Lord's army.
David Spoon:Big difference between those two, isn't there?
David Spoon:So let's keep that in mind and not lose perspective.
David Spoon:Our goal is not to be anti politics.
David Spoon:We're just really into the.
David Spoon:Let's encourage one another to draw closer to the Lord, because that's the best thing you and I have going on this side of glory.
David Spoon:Okay?
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:Pretty straightforward.
David Spoon:So I do want to pray for Angelina, and I do want to pray for Jeanette.
David Spoon:So let's do that real quickly.
David Spoon:Take your faith and just lift it up with mine.
David Spoon:Doesn't take a lot if you're driving.
David Spoon:Don't close your eyes.
David Spoon:That's a dumb thing to do.
David Spoon:Let's pray with expectation and thanksgiving.
David Spoon:Let's do it, Father.
David Spoon:We come before you right now and we start off, hallowed be thy name, because you are awesome to us.
David Spoon:Every time we think there's no way out, then bam, you help us, Lord.
David Spoon:And we're so thankful.
David Spoon:We're so appreciative that you bring your graciousness, your deliverance, your kindness into our circumstances and you change them.
David Spoon:And we're so thankful that in you, it does only take a moment for a miracle.
David Spoon:And so we're going to lift up Angelina, to you, Father, we ask you in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit that you would bless her.
David Spoon:She's really struggling.
David Spoon:We're asking for a very simplified, successful surgery so that she can have that filter put in and that she would be doing great.
David Spoon:I pray there would be a sense of comfort, almost as though your arms are wrapped around her, and she would just know that you are a God of comfort.
David Spoon:I pray that exact same thing for Rosalynn and for Robert, but especially Rosalind as she's watching her mom going through different trials, and that gets challenging.
David Spoon:We pray that you would put in her a great sense of peace and confidence in your faithfulness and that she'd be able to rest in that.
David Spoon:And, Lord, we lift up Jeanette, who's kind of by herself.
David Spoon:I don't have a lot of people hanging out with her right now.
David Spoon:Just let her know that you as well as us, we have her on our hearts and in our minds, and we pray for her to be comforted, that the tests would go great, that her return home would be simplified, and that for both of these women, it would just be easy.
David Spoon:That's what we're praying, Lord.
David Spoon:We're praying that you would make it easy.
David Spoon:And we ask you to bless them and encourage them and watch over our sisters, dad, because that's family.
David Spoon:We thank you for it.
David Spoon:And we pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
David Spoon:Amen and amen for those that do not know where we are in the teaching realm.
David Spoon:We are in Psalm 59, as we get into Psalm 59, very excited.
David Spoon:By the way, this is another psalm by David.
David Spoon:This psalm was just now, so you can understand, written when Saul, King Saul was looking for David at the house, that Saul was going to kill him.
David Spoon:Saul was going to take him out.
David Spoon:So David writes this psalm while he's being hunted, which a lot of the psalms are, wrap around that.
David Spoon:But this one is specifically when he's at the house and Saul's men were sent to watch for him in order to kill him.
David Spoon:That was the circumstance by which he wrote this.
David Spoon:Here is what the psalm says in Psalm 59.
David Spoon:Deliver me from my enemies, O my God, defend me from those who rise up against me.
David Spoon:Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from blood thirsty men.
David Spoon:For look, they lie in wait for my life.
David Spoon:The mighty gather against me.
David Spoon:Not for my transgressions, nor for my sin, O Lord, they run and prepare themselves, through no fault of mine, awake to help me and Behold you.
David Spoon:Therefore.
David Spoon:Therefore, O Lord, God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to punish all the nations and do not be merciful to any of the wicked transgressors.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:First and foremost, as we enter Psalm 59.
David Spoon:This Psalm was written like I told you.
David Spoon:When King Saul had sent people to kill David at his house, they reported back to Saul that David was sick.
David Spoon:Saul commanded that he be brought to him regardless of whether he was sick, so Saul could kill him.
David Spoon:Saul as king had lost all common sense and was overwhelmed by continual jealousy and anger, both when that is, in an operation, in a person, that person can do nothing right for the Lord.
David Spoon:Let me say that again.
David Spoon:When you're operating out of this anger and jealousy and this desire for payback and to get them and to get it square and all that attitude going on, even if you're not speaking it out loud and it's inside of you, you can do nothing right for the Lord or for the Lord's people.
David Spoon:When people are angry and they are jealous and frustrated and all of those things, out comes this powerful flesh point.
David Spoon:And it should be a real notation for Christians who just went through this entire election that people that get overly angry about politics should be aware that that does not often foster the right type of character, the right type of approach that we're supposed to have for people.
David Spoon:In fact, knowing that many people in our country are deceived because it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, we ought to be praying that God would have mercy on these people and helping these people and teaching these people when they are going way far off the pier, which is about every one of them that's on television.
David Spoon:You should be aware that we should be praying for grace and for mercy and for our leaders.
David Spoon:We should be praying that the Holy Spirit influences them.
David Spoon:Not just the leaders who are coming in, which I think a lot of people are doing, but also the leaders as they're exiting our country.
David Spoon:They can still do a lot of damage.
David Spoon:We need God to restrain the madness of behavior in our leadership.
David Spoon:We don't want God to open up a hole and swallow them up.
David Spoon:That's not praying for somebody.
David Spoon:That's praying against somebody.
David Spoon:You want God to change their hearts and minds and let them find out the truth.
David Spoon:That's what we're hoping for, right?
David Spoon:So now, in the framework of the psalm as we're reviewing it, there's a couple of major themes that David comes up with.
David Spoon:And one of the most important themes is he knows this situation is tough.
David Spoon:It's A tough situation.
David Spoon:And so he's asking God for deliverance.
David Spoon:He's like, deliver me, defend me, deliver me, save me.
David Spoon:Four things in three verses.
David Spoon:Deliver me, defend me, Deliver me, save me.
David Spoon:He's like, this is a mess.
David Spoon:This is a mess.
David Spoon:These people that were after him were sent to do the king's bidding, which already tells you that the king and the leaders don't always have the right spirit going on when things are taking place.
David Spoon:But who does David turn to when that takes place?
David Spoon:Who do we turn to when the circumstances beyond us?
David Spoon:Look, when you get into a situation, sometimes you need an attorney.
David Spoon:Sometimes you need an accountant.
David Spoon:Sometimes you need this, you need a counselor.
David Spoon:You need all these things that.
David Spoon:There's nothing wrong with that whatsoever, specifically if they're led or guided by the Lord.
David Spoon:But the ultimate answer for all these deliverances is not people.
David Spoon:People will not save you.
David Spoon:People will not deliver you.
David Spoon:God will deliver you.
David Spoon:And that's where we look for hope.
David Spoon:Now, I'm not saying don't use the people that the Lord has brought in your life.
David Spoon:I think you should specifically do that.
David Spoon:But you need to recognize.
David Spoon:I need to recognize.
David Spoon:We need to recognize through the power of prayer, through the petition of the Lord, just like what David's doing, that true deliverance, true defense, true salvation comes from God.
David Spoon:And while we pray that God will use these people in our lives, our dependency must be on the Lord.
David Spoon:That's what David's getting at.
David Spoon:Okay, all right.
David Spoon:Take a deep breath.
David Spoon:Here's your first trivia question.
David Spoon:This is based on the trivia questions from yesterday.
David Spoon:I'm having very great confidence you guys will get this.
David Spoon:What happened?
David Spoon:We actually discussed this yesterday.
David Spoon:What happened when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, when Mary came to see her?
David Spoon:Remember the first thing that Mary did, first person that she visited after the angel appeared to her, after Gabriel appeared to her, she went and visited Elizabeth.
David Spoon:What happened to Elizabeth when she heard Mary's greeting?
David Spoon:Luke, chapter one, verse 41.
David Spoon:Luke, chapter one, verse 41 dot if you think you know, you can reach out to us.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or you can send an email.
David Spoon:David.
David Spoon:That's david.org your trivia question.
David Spoon:Whoa.
David Spoon:Very straightforward.
David Spoon:What happened when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting?
David Spoon:Now, we don't exactly know all the details, but something to the effect of Elizabeth, right?
David Spoon:Something like that.
David Spoon:What happened when Mary made that greeting?
David Spoon:If you think you know.
David Spoon:So now I'm going to send you up to the website just to let you know.
David Spoon:And I want you to be aware that on the website is a place to give, and we need that.
David Spoon:Luke 6:38.
David Spoon:Give and it will be given to you.
David Spoon:Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap for the measure you use.
David Spoon:It will be measured back to you.
David Spoon:That's the commitment that God makes for people that give.
David Spoon:I understand.
David Spoon:It seems like a little bit of the Scrooge movie.
David Spoon:More, sir?
David Spoon:We'd like some more.
David Spoon:And then the guy goes, more?
David Spoon:You want more?
David Spoon:Yeah, I understand that, but that doesn't matter because it's pretty straightforward and we need money to keep ministry going.
David Spoon:So if the ministry blesses you.
David Spoon:Yep.
David Spoon:Just take that into account and be aware that if you give, you give it unto the Lord.
David Spoon:Check out our website.
David Spoon:He must increase.org prayer request hemostincrease.org praise report.
David Spoon:He must increase.org looking to give to this ministry.
David Spoon:He must increase.org confused by what's happening right now.
David Spoon:He must increase.org he must increase.org can't touch this.
David Spoon:You can't touch this.
David Spoon:You can't touch this.
David Spoon:I'm sorry.
David Spoon:I love that song.
David Spoon:You can't touch this.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Awesome, awesome, awesome sauce.
David Spoon:Just letting everybody know.
David Spoon:This is just personal information in case you want to know.
David Spoon:So I drink tea every show.
David Spoon:Every show.
David Spoon:I've been doing it almost from the very, very, very beginning.
David Spoon:And so I decided to try a new tea today.
David Spoon:Nobody take offense to this.
David Spoon:You can take a gate, but you can't take offense.
David Spoon:I'm drinking a tea and it's got lemon in it.
David Spoon:It's like lemon drop tea.
David Spoon:Guess what?
David Spoon:Not my favorite.
David Spoon:As I'm drinking the tea, I'm going, eh, I don't know.
David Spoon:I know some people are like, oh, it's phenomenal.
David Spoon:Listen, even with the stuff I put in it, it ain't that phenomenal.
David Spoon:All right?
David Spoon:That's all I'm gonna say.
David Spoon:Well, what happened to Elizabeth when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting?
David Spoon:Let me hear the greeting.
David Spoon:What happened?
David Spoon:Luke, chapter one, verse 41, by the way, is in fact your reference point.
David Spoon:So I just want you to be aware of that.
David Spoon:So as we're getting closer to Christmas, we have told people, and we'll tell you this, and I've got really specific messages coming up along these lines.
David Spoon:If in fact you're just like, not into the Christmas thing, there's no problem.
David Spoon:The Bible says don't judge one another, especially in Colossians when it comes to seasons.
David Spoon:It's new moon, it's the new moon, Sabbath, or things of that nature.
David Spoon:Don't do it based on what people eat.
David Spoon:Don't do it.
David Spoon:Don't do it.
David Spoon:Don't do it is a very nice way of saying don't judge one another.
David Spoon:If you don't want to celebrate, don't.
David Spoon:If you do want to celebrate, do.
David Spoon:Don't judge one another.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:There's little doubt that way too much commercialism has been poured into Christmas.
David Spoon:But that doesn't mean that Christians can't walk it the way that they should walk it.
David Spoon:And this is coming from a Jew, so you should keep that in mind.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:That's a nice way to say that.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Do we have somebody that's going to answer the trivia question?
David Spoon:Let's send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Curtis:Hello, David.
Curtis:This is Curtis again.
David Spoon:Hello, Curtis.
David Spoon:How are you, bro?
Curtis:Man, I'm great, my friend.
Curtis:I had Jacob answer the phone.
Curtis:I said, I think I may have an answer to the trivia.
Curtis:As long as you guys are not tired of hearing from me.
David Spoon:No, we're not tired of hearing.
David Spoon:We love hearing from you.
David Spoon:And here's how the show goes.
David Spoon:After 12 years of doing this, everybody calls in in cycles.
David Spoon:In other words, people will call in continually.
David Spoon:Then they'll call, then bop, bop, bop.
David Spoon:It never changes.
David Spoon:It just always continues.
David Spoon:You call anytime.
David Spoon:It's on your heart.
David Spoon:Never hesitate.
Curtis:Thank you.
David Spoon:You have full permission.
David Spoon:You got it.
David Spoon:All right.
Curtis:I appreciate that.
David Spoon:All right, let's set it up.
David Spoon:What happened when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting?
Curtis:The baby leaped in her womb.
David Spoon:I believe that is correct.
David Spoon:Immuno with joy.
David Spoon:It's so cool.
David Spoon:I mean, these are one of the things that I really want to get into because it's just amazing to me.
David Spoon:But the baby's in her womb leaping for joy, and you just gotta think, you know, like I'm saying, you know, what are questions we can ask Adam?
David Spoon:Or what are questions we can ask John the Baptist?
David Spoon:You just have to say to John the Baptist, did you know in the womb, you know what I'm saying?
David Spoon:Did you know when you were six months old?
David Spoon:There he comes.
David Spoon:Here comes the Messiah.
David Spoon:I mean, it's just phenomenal, right?
Curtis:Yes, sir.
Curtis:It's pretty incredible.
Curtis:It actually is, man.
Curtis:It's awesome to think about it, for sure.
David Spoon:Absolutely.
David Spoon:It's just a mind blower.
David Spoon:It's like what, you jump for joy and it's like, that's not a real challenge.
David Spoon:It's jumping for joy.
David Spoon:I mean, you gotta be kidding, right?
David Spoon:You gotta be kidding me, right?
Curtis:I love it.
Curtis:Well, hey, listen, not to change the subject, but I'm not a big fan of lemon in my tea.
Curtis:Even when I drink iced tea.
Curtis:I just never cared for lemon in my tea.
David Spoon:This is called lemon.
David Spoon:Should I drink hot tea?
David Spoon:Because I talk so much and it's like a lemon hot drop tea.
David Spoon:And I'm like, I don't mind lemon per se, but this one ain't cutting it.
David Spoon:This box ain't going to last.
David Spoon:It ain't.
David Spoon:This dog ain't gonna hunt.
Curtis:You know, it's funny, before, years, before I ever drank coffee, I was a hot tea drinker for the longest.
Curtis:So I still love a nice cup of hot tea.
David Spoon:I do, too.
David Spoon:I do.
David Spoon:I really enjoy.
David Spoon:I've been drinking tea for so long.
David Spoon:Just my.
David Spoon:It's just.
David Spoon:Just my.
David Spoon:My fave.
David Spoon:I love it.
David Spoon:I drink it at night.
David Spoon:I drink coffee in the morning, and in the afternoon of the night, I drink tea.
David Spoon:It's amazing.
David Spoon:Become my grandmother.
Curtis:I love you, my brother.
Curtis:Thank you for accepting my call.
David Spoon:David, you are more than welcome.
David Spoon:You are our brother, and a dear brother at that.
David Spoon:We appreciate you.
Curtis:Thank you, my friend.
Curtis:Have a blessed day.
David Spoon:All right, God bless.
David Spoon:Bye bye, bye, bye.
David Spoon:All right, so I just want you to see this.
David Spoon:You know, we went through this part of the Psalm 59.
David Spoon:We'll pick it back up next week because there's a lot to pick up.
David Spoon:But this is a great thing about our show that I actually really like.
David Spoon:I like it when we engage because it's great Christian fellowship.
David Spoon:And fellowship is a very empowering principle in the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:So never hesitate, whether it's a call, whether it's a text or an email, paper airplanes don't seem to get through, but you can always try.
David Spoon:We're up for anybody giving any kind of effort they can.
David Spoon:All right, we'll take our break and then we'll come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break.
David Spoon:We'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
Unknown Guest:Who is David Spoon?
Unknown Guest:I have no idea.
Unknown Guest:People have asked me about the David Spoon Experience.
Unknown Guest:They wanted to know what I thought of him.
Unknown Guest:Like any person searching for answers, I have wondered about him.
Unknown Guest:He was born and raised Jewish and after intense drug use, became a Christian.
Unknown Guest:He's married to his best friend, Noel, has three children, six grandchildren, and a dog named Bert.
Unknown Guest:He has three separate ordinations from three different denominations and is a summa cum laude for his BA Degree in ministry and leadership, as well as a master's degree of theological studies and has his doctorate of Strategic Christian Ministry.
Unknown Guest:He has a weird sense of humor and talks a lot.
Unknown Guest:If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?
Unknown Guest:No, I don't think so.
Unknown Guest:And those big ears really don't help him.
Unknown Guest:But would they enjoy his perspective on life, culture, politics, food, sports, local and national news?
Unknown Guest:I don't know.
Unknown Guest:I guess people will have to listen to find out.
David Spoon:What is the David Spoon Experience?
Ray Bentley:This is Ray Bentley.
David Spoon:Ray Bentley, the man, the myth, the legend on the show.
David Spoon:I'm gonna say that about you.
David Spoon:It has been four years and six months and 29 days since you've been live on the David Spoon Experience.
Ray Bentley:Oh, man.
Ray Bentley:Finally, I'm sliding in under the tag home safe.
David Spoon:You are safe.
David Spoon:Okay?
David Spoon:And so I'll tell the entire audience, real simple after this interview.
David Spoon:You can either blame Ray or you can bless Ray because it was his fault a year and a half ago on February 12, when he called me and said, you should be back on the radio.
Ray Bentley:Amen.
David Spoon:You just point to that guy, okay?
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:First of all, Ray, I want to ask you a really important question to start everything off with.
David Spoon:The time is yours.
David Spoon:You determine how much time you've got.
David Spoon:It's totally up to you.
David Spoon:But I do want to just ask you this quick question.
David Spoon:How you doing?
Ray Bentley:You know what?
Ray Bentley:I am doing good.
Ray Bentley:I'm doing, actually, I'm doing great.
Ray Bentley:I think these are exciting times.
Ray Bentley:I feel like we're in an acceleration of things happening, of God moving, of kind of things that we thought about and imagined prophetically what it would look like.
Ray Bentley:And it's, like, happening so much so fast with such acceleration.
Ray Bentley:I'm like, I can't hardly keep up with it all.
Ray Bentley:It's a great hour to look up and to encourage one another.
Ray Bentley:I do realize there's lots of challenges, and these are trying times, but out of the worst of times come the best of times.
