This enlightening discussion delves into Romans 8:14, emphasizing the importance of our relationship with the Holy Spirit and how it shapes our identity and actions as believers. Dr. Spoon highlights the significance of recognizing our status as adopted children of God, encouraging listeners to embrace their divine heritage. Through personal anecdotes and scriptural insights, he illustrates the balance of sharing in both the glory and the suffering of Christ, reminding us that our struggles are part of a greater purpose. Tune in for a blend of spiritual encouragement and practical wisdom that will inspire you to deepen your walk with the Lord.
Exploring the depths of spiritual leadership, David Spoon articulates the vital truth of Romans 8:14, where the essence of being a child of God is intricately tied to being led by the Holy Spirit. Spoon passionately underscores that the relationship believers have with the Holy Spirit is not merely functional but transformative. He urges listeners to embrace their identity as children of God, highlighting the profound implications of calling God 'Father' or 'Abba.' This familial connection reshapes how believers navigate their lives, instilling a sense of purpose and belonging.
The episode takes a poignant turn as Spoon addresses the reality of Christian suffering. He presents a balanced perspective that while believers are promised glory, they are also called to share in Christ’s sufferings. Rather than shying away from these trials, Spoon encourages listeners to recognize suffering as part of the sanctification process. He articulates that through challenges, believers are drawn closer to Christ and are given the opportunity to reflect His character in their lives. Spoon’s insights provide a framework for understanding that the trials of life can lead to deeper faith and resilience, ultimately preparing believers for the eternal glory that awaits them.
Concluding with an encouraging tone, Spoon invites his audience to actively engage in seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance in their daily lives. He emphasizes the importance of communication with God, urging listeners to ask for direction and to be receptive to His leading. This episode is a rich tapestry of theological insight and practical application, reminding believers of their identity, the importance of suffering, and the transformative power of being led by the Spirit. And now for something completely different.
David Spoon:Here's what's coming up this hour on Today's Experience.
David Spoon:It's totally terrific, totally transforming and totally triumphant Tuesday as we find unity from the Father, through the Son and by the Spirit.
David Spoon:All for the glory of God almighty.
David Spoon:Romans, I love this chapter.
David Spoon:Chapter 8, verse 14, which of course we can spend the entire hour on, or the entire hour plus another two months.
David Spoon:As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the children of God.
David Spoon:All of these things are in perfect present tense.
David Spoon:If we're not being led by the Holy Spirit, there's a challenge to who we are as children of God.
David Spoon:There's no way to be led by the Holy Spirit, by the way, unless we have fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon: Corinthians: David Spoon:Next, Romans 8:15, where Paul states clearly that we should behave like God's very own children.
David Spoon:We've been adopted into his family and now we say father dear Father or Abba.
David Spoon:Abba.
David Spoon:What does that mean?
David Spoon:It means that our heavenly Father is.
David Spoon:Wait for it.
David Spoon:Our Father and we are wait for it.
David Spoon:His children.
David Spoon:Your dad is the king of the universe.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:Finally, everything that God gives to Jesus is ours too.
David Spoon:And that's an awesome thought that we are co heirs with Christ, but it also means that we are privileged to suffer with Christ.
David Spoon:And if anyone thinks that's not part of the picture, they're twists the word of God to their own destruction.
David Spoon:We share in the glory of Christ, but we also share in the suffering.
David Spoon:These are principles that help us reflect Jesus Christ more and more.
David Spoon:And that reason right there, reflecting Jesus Christ more and more.
David Spoon:That's the primary reason that we are all still here.

David Spoon:Here's what else we're looking at during the show.
David Spoon:Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities, Novey so much more.
David Spoon:Now remember, it's not professional radio.
David Spoon:I think we made that clear.
David Spoon:We've made that clear so many times, I can't tell you how many times I'VE already messed up since this show has started.
David Spoon:Doesn't matter.
David Spoon:It doesn't matter.
David Spoon:It's just radio.
David Spoon:And so we're just asking you, what do you think?
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:That's all we're doing.
David Spoon:So you can email during the show.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or, or you can call us.
David Spoon:You can call us.
David Spoon:Yeah, give us a call.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:By golly, you'll end up talking to J.
David Spoon:Talking to jam and Jacob is like sharing a cheat meal on your diet with your favorite person.
Jacob:Thank you, David.
Jacob:Happy Tuesday.
David Spoon:Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.
David Spoon:Like I said, we're going to do Jake's taking a little while.
David Spoon:So you did have though a nice weekend this weekend, right?
David Spoon:I did pull that out of you yesterday that you did have a Reese's, right?
David Spoon:I'm just making sure you remember that.
Jacob:Yes, and I did.
Jacob:I have to admit, on the way home yesterday, I stopped by Sonic and got a Reese's blast and it was amazing.
David Spoon:Good for you, man.
David Spoon:Good for you.
David Spoon:That's good right there.
David Spoon:I love it.
Jacob:More Reese's yesterday as well.
David Spoon:Yeah, see, that's pretty good.
David Spoon:That is pretty good.
David Spoon:I will say that we did have a little bit of a special meal on Sunday night, Noel and I.
David Spoon:So we decided to do something.
David Spoon:So sometimes you'll make a meal and you'll have like 10, 12, 15 different sides.
David Spoon:You know, you just have a lot of stuff.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:We went with just straight steak.
David Spoon:Nothing else.
David Spoon:Just steak.
David Spoon:That was it.
David Spoon:It was so good.
Jacob:Steak is great.
Jacob:So you can't go wrong with that.
David Spoon:It's so good.
David Spoon:It was like, I can't eat this every day, but I wish I could.
David Spoon:I will later on.
David Spoon:Anyway, excellent job, my brother.
David Spoon:Very, very happy about how things are moving along in the show.
David Spoon:Let's get into this.
David Spoon:Why you guys would reach out to us.
David Spoon:One, you're nuts.
David Spoon:I mean that in a nice way.
David Spoon:Well, I mean, however nice you can mean it.
David Spoon:It's okay for you to reach out by text.
David Spoon:It's okay to reach out by cell phone or by telephone.
David Spoon:It's okay to reach out by email.
David Spoon:It could be for praise reports because we love those.
David Spoon:It could be for prayer requests.
David Spoon:So I know that Jeanette's going through a little bit of stuff all over the place.
David Spoon:So I want you to do me a favor.
David Spoon:I want you to make me a commitment.
David Spoon:Just make it to me, but in the Lord, that you will.
David Spoon:Lift up Jeanette.
David Spoon:She's got a lot of things.
David Spoon:She's going through multiple appointments.
David Spoon:She's got different doctor's appointments, and she's got friends that are really hurting.
David Spoon:So just lift up Jeanette.
David Spoon:She's a sweetheart.
David Spoon:She's been with our show for a while now, and we just ask you to bless her.
David Spoon:In fact, Lord, bless Jeanette as she's going through all these different things.
David Spoon:Don't let these different appointments and different things in her life and the people that are around her.
David Spoon:Don't let this frustrate her or discourage her.
David Spoon:But instead, Lord, let her know that every single appointment she goes to, you are with her during that whole appointment.
David Spoon:You're not waiting outside in the waiting room.
David Spoon:You are with her wherever she goes.
David Spoon:And we just ask you to bless her.
David Spoon:She's been a blessing.
David Spoon:We ask you to bring that back to her.
David Spoon:In Jesus name, Amen.
David Spoon:Amen and Amen.
David Spoon:And keep praying for her, please.
David Spoon:And then shout out to Shel because he was trying to answer a trivia question and called the two 1, 4.
David Spoon:That doesn't work.
David Spoon:All right, anyhow, so I saw that.
David Spoon:I just want to let you know.
David Spoon:All right, so let's go back to this.
David Spoon:Why do you do this?
David Spoon:It could be for praise reports.
David Spoon:It could be for prayer requests.
David Spoon:It could be for something you want to share.
David Spoon:It could be something that's on your heart.
David Spoon:Maybe the Lord has really revealed something to you and you're working through it.
David Spoon:Maybe you just want to talk about it.
David Spoon:Sometimes people reach out to me and they're like, well, I went through this scripture and I'm trying to reconcile this with this.
David Spoon:I get it.
David Spoon:That's part of growing up in the Lord.
David Spoon:That's part of expanding your learning base.
David Spoon:Nothing bad about that.
David Spoon:Wonderful.
David Spoon:Better be learning about that than things that are of the flesh or of the world.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:No question about it.
David Spoon:We also do, by the way, Bible trivia.
David Spoon:Now, if you guys don't get this one, you've not read the Bible.
David Spoon:How about that?
David Spoon:That's straightforward.
David Spoon:Luke, chapter 126 and 27.
David Spoon:What was the name of the angel who appeared to Mary?
David Spoon:What was his name?
David Spoon:What was his name?
David Spoon:That's the question.
David Spoon:What was the name of the angel that appeared to Mary?
David Spoon:Luke 1:26, 27.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or send an email david must increase.org okay, that's the different ways you can reach out to us.
David Spoon:We want you to be aware of it.
David Spoon:What was the name of the angel that appeared to marry?
David Spoon:And I'm not sure how far in we're going to go on the Christmas teachings.
David Spoon:I haven't really figured it out.
David Spoon:I have a couple of messages I really like to do, but ironically for Christmas this year, it falls on a Wednesday, and that's normally the day that I teach on those lessony kind of things.
David Spoon:So we're going to have to see how that all pans out.
David Spoon:I haven't figured that stuff out yet.
David Spoon:So, still praying for the wisdom of the Lord, which, by the way, don't stop praying for me.
David Spoon:I need wisdom as I'm asking the Lord about certain directions for the show.
David Spoon:Trying to do it right before the Lord and right before everybody else.
David Spoon:I mean, we want to do it right for one another.
David Spoon:And one of the things that drives me nuts, okay, I know it's a short putt, it's not a drive.
David Spoon:But one of the things that drives me nuts, short putt, is simply this.
David Spoon:When you're doing your best, never forget, God knows that what the enemy does is attacks us when we're trying to do our best.
David Spoon:And it's not like the Lord's up there going, well, that was their best, but it wasn't good enough.
David Spoon:That's what the enemy does because he's the accuser of the brethren.
David Spoon:When you're doing your best before the Lord, rest in that, he knows you're doing your best.
David Spoon:That's what counts.
David Spoon:Get it?
David Spoon:You're not trying to impress anybody else, just trying to honor the Lord.
David Spoon:Okay, we do have somebody ready to answer a trivia question.
David Spoon:Let's send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Deborah:Hi, David.
Deborah:You're talking to Deborah.
David Spoon:Hello, Deborah.
David Spoon:How are you?
Deborah:I'm doing well.
Deborah:How are you?
David Spoon:I'm doing good.
David Spoon:I'm doing good.
David Spoon:We got.
David Spoon:I don't know if I mentioned this or not.
David Spoon:We do have family coming in in a couple of weeks, which means that our house is going to be crazy.
David Spoon:I don't know if I'm ready for that or not or if I'm looking for A bus pass out of town.
David Spoon:I'm still trying.
David Spoon:Still trying to figure that part out.
David Spoon:So let me set you up on the question.
David Spoon:I have a very strong notion you will be getting this correct.
David Spoon:What was the name of the angel who appeared to Mary?
Deborah:I believe that was Old Gabe.
David Spoon:Old Gabe.
David Spoon:That is Rhodaroni.
David Spoon:Old Gabe.
David Spoon:Do you remember what Old Testament prophet he also appeared to.
David Spoon:Do you remember who he kind of said hi to?
David Spoon:And one of the major prophets.
David Spoon:He said hi.
David Spoon:Do you remember who he spoke to?
David Spoon:Wait, wait, wait.
David Spoon:Ben, keep going.
Deborah:No, I don't.
David Spoon:Okay, but it's one of the major.
David Spoon:Major prophets.
David Spoon:I'll leave that out there.
David Spoon:It was one of our buddies that if you're reading the significant or the major prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel or Daniel.
David Spoon:Which would those maybe go say hi to?
David Spoon:That would be the question.
David Spoon:Even though we know that Michael is referenced there.
David Spoon:I'll just leave that out there for people to kind of a follow up on that.
Deborah:All right.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:How are you doing in general?
David Spoon:How are you personally?
David Spoon:How are things going?
Deborah:Doing very, very well.
Deborah:Don't have any complaints or problems at the moment.
Deborah:Thank God.
David Spoon:Praise the Lord.
David Spoon:Thank you, Jesus.
David Spoon:They got everything going on.
David Spoon:Good.
David Spoon:I hope things continue to go well.
David Spoon:And the Lord blesses you mightily.
David Spoon:Okay, thank you.
Deborah:And I do pray for y'all all the time.
David Spoon:Thank you so much.
David Spoon:We appreciate it.
David Spoon:You know, we do.
Deborah:All right, take care.
David Spoon:Bye bye.
Deborah:Bye, bye.
David Spoon:All right, so the question I was asking is who else did Gabe, you know, say hi to?
David Spoon:Old Gabe.
David Spoon:That was a good answer.
David Spoon:And Joy Ann got it correct.
David Spoon:Who else did Old Gabe say hi to?
David Spoon:Daniel.
David Spoon:He said howdy.
David Spoon:Howdy to Daniel and also made reference to Michael.
David Spoon:Michael's also made reference to.
David Spoon:In that book of Daniel.
David Spoon:But Gabe said howdy.
David Spoon:Howdy.
David Spoon:So I'm just letting you know that.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:That was the name of the angel who appeared to Mary and also to Daniel.
David Spoon:There you go.
David Spoon:All right, so let's go into our DNA.
David Spoon:I do not do anything without doing DNA because I think it's important.
David Spoon:More important than I am or my teachings or anything.
David Spoon:Anything I can come up with.
David Spoon:Right, right, right, right, right, right.
David Spoon:Emily?
David Spoon:That was correct.
David Spoon:Okay, here we go.
David Spoon:D D stands for A.
David Spoon:Draw closer to the Lord.
Jacob:Daily.
David Spoon:Daily.
David Spoon:How much time should you spend?
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:How should you go about it?
David Spoon:I can't answer you.
David Spoon:Should you read first and pray or pray and then read?
David Spoon:Don't know.
David Spoon:Should you do this at 9, 10, 11, 12?
David Spoon:Don't know.
David Spoon:Here's what I know you should do every day that has a vowel.
David Spoon:You should spend time with the Lord.
David Spoon:That I know.
David Spoon:Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:Get it?
David Spoon:And never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:Don't chew.
David Spoon:Don't chew for one second.
David Spoon:Be ashamed of what Jesus had to say.
David Spoon:There's a lot of things to be ashamed for in this society, in every city, state and country on the planet.
David Spoon:But the one thing you never have to be ashamed of is Jesus or His words.
David Spoon:So that's D Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:A Always be ready.
Jacob:To serve.
David Spoon:So you're not spending time with the Lord and unashamed of His Word so that you can stick your head in the ground.
David Spoon:That's a good way to say that you're there to be used by the Lord to be a vessel.
David Spoon:Maybe it will be to pray for somebody that you don't even talk to.
David Spoon:Maybe it'll be to talk to somebody that you don't pray for.
David Spoon:I don't know.
David Spoon:What I know for sure is that the Lord wants his people to be on guard, ready, prepared, oil up for whatever the Lord has in mind.
David Spoon:Which means less about us, more on the Lord and those around us.
David Spoon:It's not saying you never think of yourself.
David Spoon:I think that's weird.
David Spoon:I never think of myself.
David Spoon:That'd be amazing.
David Spoon:So you don't ever breathe?
David Spoon:Wow, that's weird.
David Spoon:You'd be dead.
David Spoon:But we do so much of us that we could afford to do less of us and more of others.
David Spoon:And be ready and prepared to honor the Lord.
David Spoon:D Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:And never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:A Always be ready to serve.
David Spoon:Get that?
David Spoon:All right, we'll take a short break and then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break.
David Spoon:We'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:What is the David spoon experience?
David Spoon:First Corinthians, chapter 11, verse 1.
David Spoon:Paul said, Follow me as I follow Christ.
David Spoon:What happens when he stops following Christ?
David Spoon:Stop following him.
David Spoon:And what about Second Corinthians 2:14?
David Spoon:Not that we rule over your faith.
David Spoon:Paul said what?
David Spoon:Not that we rule over your faith.
David Spoon:So this whole notion that there's this authority structure and that people have to obey because if they don't obey in every nuance, they're going to be zapped or whatever.
David Spoon:Ours was better.
David Spoon:You know what our story was?
David Spoon:Ken told the story about past congregations he had, about people who disobeyed him and spoke evil about them and how God killed them.
David Spoon:That's what he told us.
David Spoon:In fact, it was true that somebody out of the 110 people out of his three previous churches.
David Spoon:We'll just leave that there.
David Spoon:One person did die.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:One out of 110.
David Spoon:They picked up a hitchhiker on their way to Flagstaff, Arizona.
David Spoon:Hey, I pestered from Flagstaff and the hitchhiker ended up killing the guy because the guy was a mental case.
David Spoon:But Ken used that after his church was closed 15 years later, saying, t what?
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon:But we were too dumb to know.
David Spoon:So now you have the same guy that told us how to attack a Christian leader, telling us we can no longer attack Christian leaders unless he, the anointed of God, gives us permission.
David Spoon:He's in charge and we can't challenge him or question him.
David Spoon:And oh, by the way, if we talk about the anointed or touch the prophets of God, God will kill us.
David Spoon:And he's him.
David Spoon:So he's the one of the anointed, so we can't touch him.
David Spoon:Even though none of that is scriptural, none of that is right, and all of that is wackadoodle.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Smith Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:There's Kamin 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Gonna have you have to answer a very difficult.
David Spoon:Is that a nice way to say this?
David Spoon:Very difficult trivia question.
David Spoon:I hope you're ready for it.
David Spoon:Hope you're ready.
David Spoon:Hope you're ready.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Mary said, my soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God, my Savior.
David Spoon:Why did she say that?
David Spoon:Luke, chapter one, verse 48.
David Spoon:You got to use the passage.
David Spoon:Got to use the passage.
David Spoon:She's like, my soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.
David Spoon:Which should put forever to end whether Mary was sinless or not.
David Spoon:A sinless person wouldn't need a savior.
David Spoon:Nice try anyhow.
David Spoon:I mean, that's just the truth.
David Spoon:Can't change that.
David Spoon:Mary said, my soul doth magnify, Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God, my Savior.
David Spoon:But what was she specifically responding to?
David Spoon:Luke, chapter one, verse 48.
David Spoon:Challenging.
David Spoon:See if you can dig it out of there.
David Spoon:What was it that she was responding?
David Spoon:Why did she respond that way?
David Spoon:If you think you know.
David Spoon:972.
David Spoon:445.
David Spoon:0770.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:You can also text 214-210-848.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or you can send an email.
David Spoon:David must increase.org now, one of the things I love about the show, some people will get all your trivia questions are too easy.
David Spoon:And then when you do a different one, it's like all your trivia questions are too hard.
David Spoon:That's how you know you're hitting it right.
David Spoon:Let me just say that.
David Spoon:That's how you know you're hitting it right.
David Spoon:Right there.
David Spoon:Jeff did an excellent job on answering that trivia question.
David Spoon:Very, very good.
David Spoon:Good job as well from Jeanette.
David Spoon:All right, so there are.
David Spoon:I want to get into this text because otherwise we're going to keep going.
David Spoon:And I got to get into this.
David Spoon:It's just so amazing and fascinating.
David Spoon:This portion we're about to cover.
David Spoon:So let's just listen up.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Romans, chapter 8, Romans 8:14.
David Spoon:For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
David Spoon:Now I want you to hold that thought.
David Spoon:All who are led by the spirit of God are the children of God.
David Spoon:Now, we do have somebody that is going to.
David Spoon:I think they're going to answer the trivia question.
David Spoon:Let me check, because I'm trying to make sure before I fire over there.
David Spoon:I just don't want anybody to kind of lose faith.
David Spoon:He's double checking now.
David Spoon:But I do want you to get this.
David Spoon:Romans 8:14 as many.
David Spoon:In fact, the NAS as many as Are led by the spirit of God.
David Spoon:They are the sons of God.
David Spoon:So we do have somebody.
David Spoon:Do they want to try and answer the trivia?
David Spoon:They do.
David Spoon:Let's send them in.
David Spoon:Send them over.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Shel:Hey, this is Shel.
David Spoon:Hey, Shel.
David Spoon:How are you?
David Spoon:How's your wife?
Shel:I'm good.
Shel:They finally took her back to anesthesia.
David Spoon:Okay.
Shel:An hour and a half late.
David Spoon:Oh, okay.
David Spoon:Well, we did pray for her.
David Spoon:We did pray for her.
David Spoon:So I just want to make sure that she's doing okay and just keep, keep us posted.
David Spoon:Okay, I will.
Shel:She should be out within the next 15 to 20 minutes because it was supposedly a quick surgery, 30 minute surgery on her foot.
Shel:So.
David Spoon:Okay, just text me so I can just know that it'd just be good.
Shel:You got it.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:So with this Mary question, tough question, by the way.
David Spoon:Mary question, Mary, she said, my soul does magnify the Lord and my spirit is rejoiced in God, my savior, for he has.
David Spoon:What did he do that?
David Spoon:She said that.
Shel:I'll leave the jokes alone on this one because I could go a lot of different ways.
Shel:She's going to be blessed going forward.
David Spoon:That is right.
David Spoon:He would be blessed beyond measure and that he regarded her low estate.
David Spoon:In other words, she was so blessed.
David Spoon:And what people don't recognize is what happened to Mary.
David Spoon:That's what every Jewish woman was looking for, that they would be the mother of the Messiah.
David Spoon:And so she is like, I am going to be blessed for generations and generations now.
David Spoon:Not to the level that the Catholic Church has taken it, but she's still blessed from.
David Spoon:I mean, she's still the mother of the Lord.
David Spoon:Still a mighty, mighty, mighty honor.
David Spoon:And she knows it and we know it and we appreciate that.
David Spoon:So that's just cool.
David Spoon:That's what that is.
David Spoon:That's cool.
David Spoon:Cool mom stuff.
Shel:How old was she?
Shel:Did they ever figure that out?
David Spoon:That's a great question.
David Spoon:The Debate is between 14 and 19 years old, or 19 years of age is some of the discussions.
David Spoon:She wasn't over 30.
David Spoon:We know that for sure.
Shel:Right.
David Spoon:And so she wasn't younger than 13.
David Spoon:So we know that for sure.
David Spoon:So your odds are pretty good that it's probably at the 15, 16, 17 range.
David Spoon:That's what I would tell you.
David Spoon:I mean, they always come up with, we know specifically, it's like, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
David Spoon:Were you there?
Shel:I'll take a range any day.
Shel:I knew you were very young.
David Spoon:Very, very young.
David Spoon:Very young.
David Spoon:And One of the reasons is because less pollution, less trouble.
David Spoon:Less trouble coming her way.
David Spoon:The older you get, I think most people will recognize it's a little bit of a magnet thing going on.
David Spoon:It's exactly true.
David Spoon:People don't want to.
David Spoon:That's true.
David Spoon:Excellent job.
David Spoon:She'll keep us posted on your wife.
David Spoon:We'll keep you in prayer.
David Spoon:Okay?
David Spoon:All right, my brother.
Shel:Thank you, my friend.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:God bless you.
David Spoon:All right, that's good.
David Spoon:Less pollution.
David Spoon:Okay, so Romans 8:14.
David Spoon:As many as led by the Spirit of God.
David Spoon:They are the sons of God.
David Spoon:So why is that important?
David Spoon:Because Jesus is.
David Spoon:Where.
David Spoon:Where is Jesus physically right now?
David Spoon:At the right hand of the Father, making intercession for the saints.
David Spoon:So the Holy Spirit's ministry is to do what?
David Spoon:Fulfill the ministry of Jesus on the earth while Jesus is at the right hand of the Father.
David Spoon:The Spirit had to.
David Spoon:Jesus had to be glorified.
David Spoon:Ascend.
David Spoon:Or the Spirit could not have been sent.
David Spoon:I don't know how they set it up.
David Spoon:That's what they say, okay by me.
David Spoon:And so the Holy Spirit is functioning in the ministry of Jesus Christ right now on the planet.
David Spoon:And what is necessary for you and I is this sensitivity to the leading of the Spirit.
David Spoon:So every time you talk about the Holy Spirit, if you are on some of the sides of the people that I have ordinations with, they start freaking out, which there is no reason to freak out.
David Spoon:It is just silly.
David Spoon:You want to be led by the Spirit, and there are parameters that can help, you know, if you are being led by the Spirit and it's like, wait, what does that mean, parameters?
David Spoon:Well, if you're functioning in the fruit of the Spirit, that's a good sign.
David Spoon:Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, all of it.
David Spoon:Those are good signs that you're engaging in the power and in the influence of the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon:If you're not sure, watch this, watch this.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:Ask, Say, lord, help me to be led by the Spirit.
David Spoon:You know, there's nothing weird about that prayer at all.
David Spoon:What it has to do with is walking in the newness of life.
David Spoon:And when we are stuck, remember Paul's entire argument prior 13 verses is about the old man versus the new man, about walking in the Spirit or walking in the flesh.
David Spoon:And it's like, well, the new man, he's the born again man, but the old man, he was crucified.
David Spoon:Positionally, he was crucified, but he wasn't pulled out of you.
David Spoon:Much like the penalty of the law has been done away in Christ.
David Spoon:But people still die.
David Spoon:Why?
David Spoon:Because the fullness of the redemption has not been exercised yet.
David Spoon:So what comes down to is when you're walking in the new you, the one that's influenced by Jesus Christ, you're walking in the Spirit.
David Spoon:And if you're not sure, ask God to help you.
David Spoon:That's, lord, teach me to be led by your spirit.
David Spoon:And one of the things that I do tell people, and people don't like it, I don't mind, is if you really spend time with the Lord in prayer and you really know the Word, then if the Holy Spirit directs you or guides you, you'll know, because you're already in communion.
David Spoon:You're in communion with the Father, you're in communion with the Son, you're in communion with the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon:And knowing what God has to say tells you what God sounds like.
David Spoon:It's not complex.
David Spoon:That's why it's the word of God.
David Spoon:So we know what God has to say.
David Spoon:We know what he sounds like.
David Spoon:He gave us His Word.
David Spoon:And so what we need to do to be super, super honest.
David Spoon:Oh, these brutal, honest teachings are tough, aren't they?
David Spoon:Is we need to be more sensitive to the influences of God and less surrendering to the influences of our flesh.
David Spoon:And then we'll be walking in the Spirit.
David Spoon:And by the way, we're supposed to fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
David Spoon:Second Corinthians 13, 14.
David Spoon:And, oh, by the way, the Holy Spirit is our counselor, our comforter.
David Spoon:So there's a lot going on there.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:You don't have to understand every nuance to say to God, I just want to be more sensitive.
David Spoon:I just want to be directed by your spirit.
David Spoon:I just want you to lead.
David Spoon:Ephesians 5:18 says, Be filled with the Spirit.
David Spoon:That's what you want.
David Spoon:I want to be filled with spirit.
David Spoon:I want to make the best decisions I can make.
David Spoon:I want to.
David Spoon:You know that.
David Spoon: Isaiah: David Spoon:Walk ye in it.
David Spoon:That's the Spirit.
David Spoon:That's what you want.
David Spoon:That's what the Lord calls us to.
David Spoon:That's what Romans 8:14 is talking about.
David Spoon:As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
David Spoon:So we should be functioning in the new.
David Spoon:Oh, okay.
David Spoon:Are we going to do that perfectly?
David Spoon:I don't do anything perfectly.
David Spoon:I mean, just to be honest.
David Spoon:But I love the Lord with all my heart, soul, strength and mind as best I can as of now.
David Spoon:I bet tomorrow I can do a better job.
David Spoon:Huh.
David Spoon:Interesting.
David Spoon:All Right.
David Spoon:Well, take a break and then we'll come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break.
David Spoon:We'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
David Spoon:The David Spoon Experience.
Reverend:There was a pastor.
Reverend:Now I use that word with some reservation, having been involved in ministry and having the privilege of planting seven churches throughout the United States and having three separate ordinations.
Reverend:I have a tremendous amount of respect for people who commit their lives into ministry.
Reverend:But whenever there's somebody on television or anywhere else that is a nut job.
David Spoon:Then I just call it like I see it.
Reverend:Okay?
David Spoon:That's what I call it.
David Spoon:Call it like I see it.
Reverend:On the Sean Hannity show roughly about two weeks ago, a Reverend, so called Reverend Oliver White was on the show.
Reverend:And Reverend Wright said this, and I'm going to repeat it because some of these things are just unbelievable.
Reverend:He said that Jesus was wrong about marriage.
Reverend:At least he didn't have the audacity to say he never said anything about marriage.
Reverend:He said Jesus was wrong about marriage and that marriage should be more than between a man and a woman.
Reverend:And then he proceeded to say this statement, ladies and gentlemen, he said this.
Reverend:Now this isn't even the thing that's irritating.
Reverend:Then he proceeded to say this.
Reverend:If Jesus were alive today.
David Spoon:He said.
Reverend:He would say, I didn't know it all.
Reverend:This is a man who's supposed to be representing Jesus Christ as a minister.
Reverend:This guy's no minister.
Reverend:And if you want to say, well, that's judging.
Reverend:I'll take that judgment all day long.
David Spoon:All day long.
Reverend:I'll take that judgment no matter what anybody says.
Reverend:Here's a guy that says two things.
Reverend:One, Jesus was wrong about marriage.
Reverend:Two, if Jesus were alive today, any person who proclaims or professes to be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and questions whether Jesus Christ is alive today or not is not a minister, but a false teacher.
David Spoon:I don't care.
Reverend:I don't care if you like it.
Reverend:I don't care if you think that's mean.
Reverend:That's irrelevant.
Reverend:Facts are facts.
Reverend:And here's the thing that just overwhelms me.
Reverend:This overwhelms me.
David Spoon:Ladies and gentlemen.
Reverend:Any person who is in public office.
Reverend:Now this goes with this.
Reverend:All three, three of these things go together.
Reverend:Any person who is in public office who changes their convictions about same sex marriage because another family member has made a decision to go into the lifestyle of being gay or lesbian, any person who changes their convictions, their biblical Christian convictions, based on another family member changing their status into a gay or lesbian lifestyle.
Reverend:And then that person then changes their Bible convictions to accommodate their family member is not fit to be a Christian.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:I said it.
David Spoon:Amazing grace, how sweet.
David Spoon:Oh.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's Kaaman 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Next trivia question.
David Spoon:True or false?
David Spoon:That ought to help.
David Spoon:True or false?
David Spoon:Joseph, Mary's husband, Joseph was from the tribe of Judah.
David Spoon:True or false?
David Spoon:Luke chapter two, verse four.
David Spoon:Luke chapter two, verse four.
David Spoon: ,: David Spoon:That's 972-44-507.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Joseph, Mary's husband, the step up parent, was from the tribe of Judah.
David Spoon:True or false?
David Spoon:Luke chapter two, verse four.
David Spoon:Meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.
David Spoon:Why do I do that?
David Spoon:Because I have to.
David Spoon:Do I like doing that?
David Spoon:No.
David Spoon:But I'm going to keep doing it because I'm going to do my best to obey the Lord.
David Spoon:Here it is.
David Spoon:2 Corinthians 8, 3.
David Spoon:For I testify according to their ability and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord.
David Spoon:We need that.
David Spoon:Is that a nice way to say that?
David Spoon:We need that, right?
David Spoon:We need that.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:We need that.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:If you can give, that's awesome.
David Spoon:If you can't, we don't care.
David Spoon:It's like, oh, you don't want you listening to the show.
David Spoon:That's just weird.
David Spoon:You listen to the show no matter what and if you see like we got a couple books up there that I wrote.
David Spoon:If you want one of those books and you can't afford them, you afford them, you tell us.
David Spoon:We'll get you that book free, period, no questions asked.
David Spoon:Got that?
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:In lieu of that, if you can give, great.
David Spoon:If you can't pray for us, you can spend a minute, 60 seconds once a week praying for us.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Thank you very much.
David Spoon:Okey dokey artichoke.
David Spoon:Check it out on the website.
David Spoon:EMUSTincrease.org Prayer request.
David Spoon:EMUST praise report Looking to give to this ministry.
David Spoon:He must increase.org confused by what's happening right now.
David Spoon:He must increase.org hemustincrease.org from the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant.
David Spoon:Am I supposed to want vegetables, though, after I hear that?
David Spoon:I haven't figured that out yet.
David Spoon:Is that how it's supposed to?
David Spoon:Like, I still remember the Jolly Green Giant and the corn that my mom would.
David Spoon:I mean, just for years and years and years.
David Spoon:But am I supposed to have a desire?
David Spoon:Cause like, when we talk about pastries, I want those.
David Spoon:I don't feel the same way when we're talking about vegetables.
David Spoon:Is that me?
Jacob:No, that's not the chew.
Jacob:I feel the same way.
Jacob:But maybe it's because when we talk about pastries, cookies, Reese's, they're just so.
David Spoon:Good and we do talk about them quite a bit.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:That's what comes out of our mouth.
David Spoon:So you can already tell what's in our heart.
David Spoon:All right, anyhow, backing up to that question.
David Spoon:So listen now, Mary comes from one tribe, from a tribe.
David Spoon:And Joseph also comes from the tribe.
David Spoon:So we're just asking which tribe did Joseph come from?
David Spoon:Luke, chapter two, verse four.
David Spoon:I'm telling you, there's an answer there and I know you guys are going to get it and I'll give you that chance just real quickly.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Additionally, that's the number to call.
David Spoon:You can text 214-210-483 or send an email davidcrease.org so Emily, that's.
David Spoon:She's sending emails and she's getting them.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Good job.
David Spoon:Good job.
David Spoon:In the meantime, we're going to do Jake's take.
David Spoon:Now, I was tempted and Jake will tell you why, to bring destruction to material.
David Spoon:But I did not do that.
David Spoon:Jake, what happened yesterday?
Jacob:Well, the Dallas Cowboys played the Cincinnati Bengals last night and what was a good game overall, but it just felt like The Cowboys lost 27 to 20 and they had the game.
Jacob:David, did you see the ending with the punt block?
David Spoon:I did not see the very ending, but I heard disaster was.
David Spoon:Disaster is now one of the plays that they're.
David Spoon:That they're bringing in.
Jacob:Yes.
Jacob:So if you didn't.
Jacob:Since you didn't see it.
Jacob:So the Bengals, it was 20 to 20 with about two minutes left and the Bengals punted the ball, Cowboys blocked the punt and so they were going to get the ball already in scoring position to win the game.
Jacob:The ball goes up in the air, bounces, you know, rolls around, and instead of just letting it go where, you know, they let it go, plays dead Cowboys ball.
Jacob:Cowboys player tries to jump on it and he doesn't get to the ball.
Jacob:So then it's a live ball.
Jacob:Bengals jump on it and they get it back.
Jacob:So then the Bengals scored a touchdown to win the game.
Jacob:So it was the Cowboys.
Jacob:That play summed up the Cowboys season.
David Spoon:Unfortunately, that is sad.
David Spoon:That is said, now I don't feel as bad for many Cowboys fans because I, being a Lions fan, have been through 0 and 16.
David Spoon:So I don't want to hear too much because I am one of the few people that know what O&16 really is.
Jacob:Why, I remember that season with the Lions and that was something to watch there, not, not winning a single game.
Jacob:So if you're a Cowboys fan, you can say, hey, we've won, what, five games?
Jacob:We've won five games this year.
Jacob:Better than zero, right?
David Spoon:Five times better than zero.
David Spoon:Anyway, I'm just saying.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:All right, well, we'll just keep hoping.
David Spoon:We'll keep believing.
Jacob:Yes.
David Spoon:That the Lions will make the Super Bowl.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Anyway, good job.
David Spoon:Thank you, sir.
David Spoon:Let's go back to our text.
David Spoon:Your trivia question.
David Spoon:What tribe?
David Spoon:So what tribe was Joseph from?
David Spoon:Mary was from a tribe and Joseph was from a tribe.
David Spoon:What tribe?
David Spoon:What tribe?
David Spoon:Thank you very much.
David Spoon:Back to the text.
David Spoon:And I want to read this in one little jump, so I don't want you to go anywhere.
David Spoon:Listen, it says this for all who are led by the spirit of God are children of God.
David Spoon:So you should not be like cowering, fearful slaves.
David Spoon:You should behave instead like God's very own children adapted into his family, calling him Father, Dear Father Abba, Father Abba, for his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God's children.
David Spoon:Yet another reason for us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, you just gotta bear with me.
David Spoon:Another reason is the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit about being saved.
David Spoon:And if you don't have a sensitivity to that, it's harder because you don't have that assurance.
David Spoon:But the reality check is that inside of you, and this should help you, you are crying out to God, father, Abba, Father, you're not saying, abba, Father, take me to McDonald's.
David Spoon:You're like, Abba, Father, help me.
David Spoon:I need my dad.
David Spoon:I need my dad.
David Spoon:And what's important about that is that taking place in you gives you witness.
David Spoon:And while that's happening and while you're crying out, the scripture says you ought to act like God's kids.
David Spoon:And there's a lot of Christians that don't.
David Spoon:And if you think I'm just talking about people that have wild Living.
David Spoon:You are missing it because that's not even what the lead in is.
David Spoon:It says you should not be like cowering, fearful slaves.
David Spoon:You should behave instead like God's very own children.
David Spoon:Your dad is the king of the universe.
David Spoon:You understand that, right?
David Spoon:You have to understand.
David Spoon:Stop thinking about earthly kings.
David Spoon:Just imagine the most gracious, gentle, kindest, most generous king ever.
David Spoon:And then you're not even close to how generous God is.
David Spoon:And that's your dad.
David Spoon:You're his kid.
David Spoon:You're adopted into the family.
David Spoon:You're his very own.
David Spoon:And we need to get a hand on that.
David Spoon:And the fact that you even cry out, that's a gift from God.
David Spoon:Don't you understand?
David Spoon:Even when you're crying out, that's God's gift to you, saying, I'm with you.
David Spoon:And then he says this.
David Spoon:He says, for his Holy Spirit speaks us deep in our hearts and tells us that we're God's kids.
David Spoon:You wouldn't cry out to God if you didn't think he could hear you.
David Spoon:Think about that.
David Spoon:That's the witness of the spirit of God living in you.
David Spoon:The fact that you even cry out, so powerful.
David Spoon:So powerful.
David Spoon:You are a child of the most high God.
David Spoon:Stop walking around like you're just rubbish or trash.
David Spoon:Do you know how much you cost?
David Spoon:The blood of Jesus?
David Spoon:You can tell me one treasure on earth that's worth more than the blood of Jesus.
David Spoon:Name one.
David Spoon:There isn't.
David Spoon:So you're worth more than every and any treasure on the planet, according to God.
David Spoon:That's pretty good.
David Spoon:That's pretty good company right there.
David Spoon:That's good standard right there.
David Spoon:Get that.
David Spoon:All right, trivia question.
David Spoon:Which tribe of Israel did Joseph belong to?
David Spoon:If you read Luke, chapter two, verse four, you'd find out it was the tribe of Judah.
David Spoon:The tribe of Judah.
David Spoon:Remember, they had to respond to the census that was taking place.
David Spoon:We're going to take our break and then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break.
David Spoon:We'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:Bottom line is what I'm about to share with you does not, does not, does not does not mean that churches are bad.
David Spoon:There are a multitude of great churches.
David Spoon:Jesus had an address to seven churches in the book of Revelation, right?
David Spoon:Multiple of those churches were excellent.
David Spoon:Everybody had something they can improve on.
David Spoon:Change, grow in.
David Spoon:Only two of those churches were super, super bad.
David Spoon:The idea behind that is never take.
David Spoon:What I'm about to share is how the church is at large.
David Spoon:This is no indictment on the church of God, the Bride of Christ.
David Spoon:Never, never, never think of the church that way.
David Spoon:The Lord God Almighty loves the church.
David Spoon:If you don't love what God loves, if you don't love who God loves, that's a whole separate issue that you have to deal with.
David Spoon:You understand that?
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's K double Amen 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Who did Mary visit right after the angel appeared to her?
David Spoon:Luke chapter one, verse 38 through 40.
David Spoon:Who did Mary visit right after the angel appeared to her?
David Spoon:Who did she.
David Spoon:No, she didn't.
David Spoon:Go on TikTok.
David Spoon:Thank you.
David Spoon:Who did Mary visit right after the angel appeared to her.
David Spoon:Luke, chapter one, verses 38 through 40.
David Spoon: If you think you know: David Spoon: That's: David Spoon:You can also text.
David Spoon:It's always good to text.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Additionally, you can send an email David Crease.org.
David Spoon:right, right.
David Spoon:All right, all right, all right.
David Spoon:We do have somebody that is ready and we're going to get to them in just a second.
David Spoon:I'm not going to do our normal history because it's kind of a boring history and there's no good food on it.
David Spoon:I mean, it's like, I don't care.
Jacob:That's the most important thing.
David Spoon:I'm looking at this whole thing.
David Spoon:It's like, I mean, no, no, no, no, no.
David Spoon:Don't care.
David Spoon:You see, I will give you, though, a traffic report.
David Spoon:I thought this would be good.
David Spoon:Every once in a while when I don't do a history, I give you a traffic report.
David Spoon:For those that do not know right now, on the road, there are cars and here's your weather report.
David Spoon:There is weather.
David Spoon:Okay, got it.
David Spoon:Okay, cool.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:We do have somebody read your question.
David Spoon:Let's send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Shel:This is Gary.
Shel:How are you today?
David Spoon:I'm doing pretty good.
David Spoon:Gary, I'm glad you called.
David Spoon:I want the chance to keep praying for you, so I'm glad you called in.
Shel:Thank you.
David Spoon:You're welcome.
David Spoon:And I enjoy hearing your voice.
David Spoon:And this is a classic question, not overly complex, so I'm sure you're going to.
David Spoon:I just feel very strong.
David Spoon:Gary, you're going to get this, right.
David Spoon:What did Mary, who did Mary visit right after the angel appeared to her?
David Spoon:Who did she go see?
Shel:I believe she went to see her cousin Elizabeth.
David Spoon:That is correct.
David Spoon:Amundo.
David Spoon:That's it.
David Spoon:I mean, they had probably had a unique relationship and she already knew from the angel that, you know, she was like, you know, the miracle had happened.
David Spoon:She was probably going, well, this is a miracle that's happening to me.
David Spoon:I better hook up and we better talk.
David Spoon:It's like, wow.
David Spoon:And then the baby leaps for joy in her womb when Mary's coming in.
David Spoon:It's like, wow.
David Spoon:That is just lights out.
David Spoon:Fantastic.
David Spoon:Hey, let me pray for you.
David Spoon:Is that okay?
Shel:Okay.
David Spoon:All right.
Shel:Let's pray for all of you Sunday.
David Spoon:I appreciate that, brother.
David Spoon:And we deeply, deeply believe me.
David Spoon:I Deeply need it.
David Spoon:All right, let me pray for you.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now.
David Spoon:We lift up our precious brother Gary, and we are asking you to bring your healing power into his body.
David Spoon:The power, the same power, Father, the Holy Spirit that you use to raise Jesus's body.
David Spoon:That's what's going to be used to raise our body.
David Spoon:That's who's going to be used to raise our body.
David Spoon:And we need that same anointing, resurrecting, touching, healing power to touch Gary's life.
David Spoon:We know it comes through Jesus name.
David Spoon:We know it comes through the redemption work of Christ.
David Spoon:We ask you to pour out your spirit into Gary's body and let him find the healing he's searching for.
David Spoon:Lord, he believes, we believe.
David Spoon:And if our belief's not where it needs to be, help us.
David Spoon:We want to see testimony come from this.
David Spoon:We want to see your healing power touch our brother Gary.
David Spoon:He's our brother and we're petitioning on his behalf.
David Spoon:Bless him, touch him, heal him, encourage him.
David Spoon:We pray in Jesus name.
David Spoon:Amen and amen.
Shel:Amen.
Shel:Thank you very much and God bless you.
David Spoon:You too, my brother.
David Spoon:God bless you as well.
David Spoon:All right, so the rest of this text, the rest of this verse 17, just really cool stuff, but I don't want you to get discouraged on me or anything, so I'm just going to read the whole thing through.
David Spoon:For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
David Spoon:So you should not be like cowering, fearful slaves.
David Spoon:You should behave instead like God's very own children adopted into his family, calling him Father, dear Father.
David Spoon:For the Holy Spirit speaks to the deep, speaks to us deep in our hearts.
David Spoon:That should answer any question.
David Spoon:If anybody's wondering if the Holy Spirit speaks.
David Spoon:The Holy Spirit speaks deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God's children.
David Spoon:Verse 17.
David Spoon:And since we are his children, we will have his treasures.
David Spoon:For everything God gives to his son, Jesus Christ, Ours too.
David Spoon:But if we are to share in his glory, we must also share his suffering.
David Spoon:Now, I know there's movements out there and you've heard me talk about it, and they drive me nutty batty.
David Spoon:Because it's simple.
David Spoon:You and I have the privilege, the privilege of suffering from for Christ at whatever moment God grants.
David Spoon:That is a connecting point.
David Spoon:That suffering connects us to Jesus.
David Spoon:If you've got something more important than connecting to Jesus, you're not seeking first the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:There was somebody in my past that said, oh, don't pray for patience because God will give it to you.
David Spoon:He'll answer you.
David Spoon:The real response to that statement is, why don't you wanna be more like the Lord wants you to be?
David Spoon:What is it?
David Spoon:You don't want God to actually work in your life to demonstrate characters of Jesus Christ?
David Spoon:You want to skip all that stuff?
David Spoon:No, I want to be like Jesus.
David Spoon:Whatever that's going to take wherever it's going to get me.
David Spoon:That's the goal.
David Spoon:The goal is to be more like Christ.
David Spoon:If that involves suffering, then it involves suffering.
David Spoon:I can't change that.
David Spoon:God alone knows best.
David Spoon:And if having more patience helps me be more like Jesus, I pray for a ton.
David Spoon:Oh, God's going to answer you.
David Spoon:I hope so.
David Spoon:I'm trying to be like Jesus.
David Spoon:That's the whole point.
David Spoon:But everything that Jesus receives, in a sense is ours as well, because we share in his inheritance.
David Spoon:Well, what's one of the things?
David Spoon:This will blow your mind if you can catch it.
David Spoon:What's one of the things that Jesus inherited once he resurrected?
David Spoon:All authority in heaven and on earth is given to me.
David Spoon:Go.
David Spoon:Therefore, that's part of the inheritance.
David Spoon:That the Father protects us, that the Father watches over us, that the Father loves us, that the Father's close to us.
David Spoon:All of those things, that's ours too.
David Spoon:Do we access it?
David Spoon:No, mostly not, because we don't believe it.
David Spoon:I mean, you can say whatever you want to say to me, but we don't have the faith for it.
David Spoon:At least a lot of us don't seem to have the faith for it.
David Spoon:I think some people probably do.
David Spoon:But this is what he's saying.
David Spoon:We will share in his treasures.
David Spoon:And Jesus, he will not just rule.
David Spoon:Let's just separate this.
David Spoon:And I want to get into the theological fight.
David Spoon:He will not just, not just be reigning in the millennium reign.
David Spoon:He's going to reign in the new heavens and the new earth, the forever ever stuff.
David Spoon:And we're going to be with him forever and ever and ever.
David Spoon:I just am so excited to see what the Lord has prepared.
David Spoon:I love that teaching.
David Spoon:Six days took him to create the earth.
David Spoon: ou think he's put together in: David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:But if we're going to share with him in his glory, and we are, we're going to share a little bit in the suffering.
David Spoon:But the great thing is, for the joy that was set before him, he endured the suffering.
David Spoon:And we can do the exact same thing.
David Spoon:The glory that God is going to give us, and that is giving us, and that will has, is and will give us far exceeds anything.
David Spoon:That we can suffer.
David Spoon:It's not worthy.
David Spoon:In fact, the scripture says to be compared.
David Spoon:Cool.
David Spoon:That's what I want.
David Spoon:Straights of gold, baby.
David Spoon:Dancing all day long.
David Spoon:I'll take it.
David Spoon:All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the true station here in Texas.
David Spoon:22 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.
David Spoon:More insanity with Spoonanity.
David Spoon:I'll text you after four.
David Spoon:Running and running.
Shel:The views expressed on the preceding program.
David Spoon:Were those of the speakers and not necessarily those of kaam, DJRD Broadcasting or its sponsors.
