David Spoon:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
David Spoon:And this question I'm going to ask you has nothing to do with that.
David Spoon:But it is.
David Spoon:And every once in a while you can have fun and you can smile.
David Spoon:It's just a simple question.
David Spoon:Don't get all spiritual.
David Spoon:Don't get overly worldly or anything like that.
David Spoon:It's a simple question.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:What animal best describes your personality?
David Spoon:That's all.
David Spoon:What animal best describes you?
David Spoon:When you think of you, what animal comes to mind?
David Spoon:It's pretty simple.
David Spoon:Is it spiritual?
David Spoon:No.
David Spoon:Is it fun?
David Spoon:Yes.
David Spoon:Are you allowed to laugh?
David Spoon:Yes, you are.
David Spoon:Now, if you have a response to that or an opinion or a comment, a thought or a question, it doesn't have to die of loneliness, just reach out and give us a call.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: That's: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Talking to Jam and Jacob is like talking to a person that you can count on.
Jammin Jacob:Thank you, David.
Jammin Jacob:Happy Tuesday.
David Spoon:Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.
David Spoon:How are you doing today?
David Spoon:How are things for you?
Jammin Jacob:Going good?
Jammin Jacob:It kind of feels like a Thursday, right?
Jammin Jacob:Because we're only working half a week.
David Spoon:It does feel that way.
David Spoon:It's got that, ooh, we're getting closer to the weekend feel, even though it's Tuesday.
David Spoon:But it's kind of like a Thursday Tuesday kind of swishy wishy thingy.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Whatever swishy wishy means.
David Spoon:I don't know what that means.
David Spoon:I do feel like that, though.
David Spoon:It does feel that way.
David Spoon:You're right.
David Spoon:Very.
David Spoon:You know, your observations are increasing.
David Spoon:Your understanding and astuteness is raging higher and higher.
Jammin Jacob:Yours is, too.
Jammin Jacob:I was just thinking that this week is feeling very swishy wishy, like you said, or right before you said that.
David Spoon:Swishy wishy.
David Spoon:Telling you people.
David Spoon:There it is.
David Spoon:All right, here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:The bottom line is you can call us.
David Spoon:We've told you that.
David Spoon:You can text.
David Spoon:I'm getting my text.
David Spoon:Listen to this.
David Spoon:I've got the system, by the grace of God, kind of honed in.
David Spoon:Everybody that's texting, I'm getting them right away.
David Spoon:It's really kind of nice.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:A little slower now for those who need it that way.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Additionally, you can send an email.
David Spoon:David D, A V, I D.
David Spoon:That's my name, David.
David Spoon:At a.
David Spoon:With a circle.
David Spoon:He must increase from John.
David Spoon:3:30.
David Spoon:He must increase.
David Spoon:I must decrease.org because we're a nonprofit corporation.
David Spoon:Bottom line is you can call us, you can text us, you can email us, you can shout, hey, David.
David Spoon:But we probably won't hear you.
David Spoon:You can send a paper airplane, but it probably won't get through the door.
David Spoon:Otherwise, give us a call.
David Spoon:You can text, you can send an email.
David Spoon:And your question might be, why would I do those kind of things, Dave?
David Spoon:Well, first of all, they answer the question.
David Spoon:We've already had people answering the question, what animal best describes your personality?
David Spoon:Hmm, interesting.
David Spoon:I think some people are thinking gummy bears or something along those lines.
David Spoon:Bottom line is you can call, you can text, you can email.
David Spoon:For the purpose of sharing.
David Spoon:Maybe the Lord has done something marvelous.
David Spoon:It's simply marvelous in your life, and you wanna share it.
David Spoon:It's great because it reinforces it in your own life.
David Spoon:It blesses other Christians.
David Spoon:You wanna bless other Christians, There it is.
David Spoon:And it honors the Lord.
David Spoon:Isaiah 43.
David Spoon:7.
David Spoon:We were created for the glory of God.
David Spoon:And sharing what God has done in your life brings glory to God.
David Spoon:It can be for prayer requests, things that we are petitioning, things that we are seeking for, things that we're looking for.
David Spoon:Most people think of prayer and they think, well, most of the time it's like, you know, when there's a disaster.
David Spoon:Wrong.
David Spoon:You should be praying about everything.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Pray without ceasing about all the things that are going on in your life.
David Spoon:Saying thank you and asking God to give you just that much more insight in everything you go through.
David Spoon:Because that's what he wants of his kids.
David Spoon:He's gearing us to spend eternity with him.
David Spoon:Isn't that cool?
David Spoon:I mean, that's kind of cool.
David Spoon:Come on.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:And so the more time we spend with him, the better off we are.
David Spoon:We're engaging in his presence.
David Spoon:It's awesome.
David Spoon:We take our collective faith, we bring it up before the Lord.
David Spoon:Why is that important?
David Spoon:Because it shows that we're fulfilling the law of Christ, carry one another's burdens.
David Spoon:And so we pray together.
David Spoon:And that's a very important part of what we do and who we are.
David Spoon:We also have opportunities for people to share scripture, something that's going on, anything that's taking place.
David Spoon:We're not against politics.
David Spoon:We just have a stronger lean in, encouraging one another to draw closer to the Lord.
David Spoon:It's just that simple.
David Spoon:And so we hope you'll take advantage of that.
David Spoon:There are a couple things I do need to remind you of in those things.
David Spoon:Number one, don't forget we have a modified schedule.
David Spoon:As Jacob had pointed out, we will not be in studio Thursday and Friday because the studio is closed.
David Spoon:And when Don says the studio is closed, it's closed.
David Spoon:So it's closed.
David Spoon:So there will be.
David Spoon:There's two very, very.
David Spoon:One is really challenging and one is dramatically encouraging replays that will be offered up in our time slot.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:From the show.
David Spoon:Number two, don't forget to pray for me.
David Spoon:I've been asking you to pray for wisdom.
David Spoon:I need wisdom from the Lord in certain things that have to do with the show.
David Spoon:And that's all I'm asking is people to join me in that prayer element and just lifting up the show and giving Me wisdom to know what to do.
David Spoon:I am asking God, but I'm asking you to join me in that number three before we exit today, sometime we're going to pray for family gatherings because, well, for a Jewish family, your Thanksgivings are like our every night at dinner.
David Spoon:I just want to point that out, but some families really kind of lose it in Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving time.
David Spoon:And so we just want to pray that everybody will have the influx of the Holy Spirit operating, because one of the fruits of the Spirit is self control.
David Spoon:So we will be praying for that.
David Spoon:So you might as well prepare your mind for that.
David Spoon:That's going to happen.
David Spoon:In the meantime, though, we are in Matthew chapter 20.
David Spoon:Matthew chapter 20.
David Spoon:And we are actually picking it up at verse 20.
David Spoon:So Matthew 20, verse 20.
David Spoon:Get ready for this.
David Spoon:Ready.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:This is really fascinating.
David Spoon:Then the mother of James and John, this is after Jesus pulled his disciples aside and reminded them that he was going to die, right?
David Spoon:Which was something that he had just finished up on because he had just told them the parable about the vineyard workers and how everybody's going to be rewarded the same in that capacity about salvation and eternal life.
David Spoon:Then the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her sons.
David Spoon:She respectfully.
David Spoon:She knelt down respectfully to ask a favor.
David Spoon:What is your request?
David Spoon:Jesus asked.
David Spoon:She replied, in your kingdom, will you let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on the right and the other on the left?
David Spoon:This is James and John's mom, and she is a delightful Jewish woman.
David Spoon:How do I know that's true?
David Spoon:I'm going to tell you that in a second.
David Spoon:But when it says in the phrase, in the phrasing of verse 20 of Matthew 20, then that's the word tot in Greek, that means then or at that time.
David Spoon:And the fact that the mother of James and John, the wife of Zebedee, were asking for her boys to have high positions in his heavenly administration is not something new.
David Spoon:Parents have been trying to assist their kids in rising through the ranks for ages.
David Spoon:And apparently this mom wasn't too distraught.
David Spoon:I want you to think about this.
David Spoon:That the boys jumped ship, so to speak, and left the family business to pursue religious training.
David Spoon:After all, what Jewish mom doesn't want her boys to be rabbis?
David Spoon:Do you understand?
David Spoon:And so they're in.
David Spoon:They're into this.
David Spoon:Remember, they left their dad in the boat with the nets, and they went and followed Jesus.
David Spoon:And so she's like, all right, all right, my kids are working on the rabbi thing.
David Spoon:What is your son?
David Spoon:Is he a lawyer?
David Spoon:Is he a doctor?
David Spoon:Is he a rabbi?
David Spoon:See, that's just way more powerful.
David Spoon:So it's real probable as we read this and as you follow the text, you might not have heard Jesus conversation.
David Spoon:That was in private with the 12 when Jesus told them, hey, guess what?
David Spoon:I'm going to get killed.
David Spoon:She might not have caught that part of the conversation, or she might not have been.
David Spoon:So what's the word I'm looking for?
David Spoon:Adamant about moving forward for her boys in the kingdom.
David Spoon:But here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:The bottom line is that the pathway that Jesus was on was a pathway that was leading to death.
David Spoon:So I'm not positive, I'm not saying she did or didn't.
David Spoon:I'm just not positive she knew any of that conversation.
David Spoon:But she is looking out for her boys.
David Spoon:Now look at this.
David Spoon:I want to show you a great Jewish mom.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:She obviously believed in Jesus.
David Spoon:How do we know that?
David Spoon:Because she asked Jesus, when he comes into his kingdom, if he will elevate the kids.
David Spoon:So she believed the kingdom was coming and Jesus was in charge of it.
David Spoon:She's a believer.
David Spoon:There's no way you can pull that out, James And John's mommy, the sons of Zebedee, the wife of Zebedee himself, she came to Jesus, said, look, you're going to be in this kingdom.
David Spoon:You're going to be running this thing.
David Spoon:I want my kids to have a good position.
David Spoon:So she obviously believed.
David Spoon:Next, she asks for a favor.
David Spoon:There's nothing that gets people to move on your side more than you saying, can you possibly do me this favor?
David Spoon:They respond to that.
David Spoon:It's such a pleasant way to ask.
David Spoon:And when Jesus asks her what the favor is, listen to this, moms.
David Spoon:She spent it on her kids, unlike a certain mom who had a daughter dance at a birthday party.
David Spoon:And then when she was allowed to have anything up to half of Herod's kingdom, she chose to have John the Baptist's head on a platter.
David Spoon:That's not a mom looking out for her kids.
David Spoon:That's a mom looking out for the mom.
David Spoon:So she's a phenomenal mom.
David Spoon:She's spending this ask this favor on her kids.
David Spoon:And what is she trying to do?
David Spoon:As beautiful as it gets, she's trying to secure their future.
David Spoon:Isn't that great?
David Spoon:What a mom, right?
David Spoon:She's a mom.
David Spoon:I'm telling you right now.
David Spoon:She's like, oh, I want you to watch out for my kids.
David Spoon:I want you to elevate them.
David Spoon:I want you to do me this favor so we can fully understand.
David Spoon:Though James and John's mommy believe that Jesus was indeed the Messiah, which meant in some large degree the family embraced a great deal of the faith connected to the mission.
David Spoon:Jesus tries to express that she doesn't really know what she's asking.
David Spoon:So let's go back and look at that.
David Spoon: Acts: David Spoon:Then the mother of James, then the mother of James and John, the sons of deputy, came to Jesus with her sons.
David Spoon:She knelt respectfully to ask for a favor.
David Spoon:What is your request?
David Spoon:He asked.
David Spoon:She replied, in your kingdom will you set?
David Spoon:Or will you let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on the right and one on the left.
David Spoon:Verse 22.
David Spoon:But Jesus told her.
David Spoon:Jesus told them.
David Spoon:Jesus told everybody.
David Spoon:You don't know what you're asking.
David Spoon:Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of sorrow I am about to drink?
David Spoon:You have to understand something about this.
David Spoon:Jesus is actually being very kind, expressing to the moms and the kids.
David Spoon:They don't really know what they're putting themselves in position for.
David Spoon:What is about to happen to Jesus is horrific, horrid, beyond understanding, especially to a man who's 100% innocent.
David Spoon:One must imagine that even when a really good person is unjustly crucified, there is still something within them that potentially could count and say, hey, there's a justification for this.
David Spoon:I've had sin, whatever the case may be.
David Spoon:But this was not the case with Jesus.
David Spoon:Jesus literally was holding his tongue while getting the greatest outrage done to him in the universe.
David Spoon:Being crucified for doing nothing wrong and everything right.
David Spoon:Wow, that is so intense.
David Spoon:And so Jesus, he doesn't even.
David Spoon:He tells her, you think you could drink from this bitter cup that I'm going to drink.
David Spoon:That's what he's saying.
David Spoon:The response comes from the boys, oh, yes.
David Spoon:Oh yeah.
David Spoon:Oh yeah, we can do it.
David Spoon:We can do it.
David Spoon:We're able.
David Spoon:We can endure it.
David Spoon:We can put up with it.
David Spoon:Yes, you betcha, Jesus, we're ready.
David Spoon:We can do it.
David Spoon:We're absolutely ready.
David Spoon:Now, I just want to point this out because we're going to break for a trivia question, but I want you to catch this.
David Spoon:Jesus puts it directly on the boys by asking him.
David Spoon:And they most assuredly were not thinking clearly about what Jesus had just told them, that he was going to die.
David Spoon:And so Jesus asked if they're prepared to drink the bitter cup he's going to drink without hesitation, without contemplation, the brothers, absolutely, we can do it.
David Spoon:We're ready.
David Spoon:We can handle it.
David Spoon:Now.
David Spoon:There is in life, there is wrong and then there is really wrong.
David Spoon:And then there's, wow, I can't believe how far off you really are wrong.
David Spoon:And this one's the last one.
David Spoon:Because they think they can do anything, but they have no idea what's about to happen because they're not understanding what's going to take place.
David Spoon:And I want to say this really, really quickly.
David Spoon:Oftentimes, positions of glory, the idea of a position of glory clouds the cost involved to get to the glory.
David Spoon:Listen to what I'm saying.
David Spoon:It's absolutely, absolutely important for you to understand.
David Spoon:In the kingdom of God, people will look at the glory and think, awesome sauce.
David Spoon:But they are not counting the cost to get to the glory.
David Spoon:Now, we're on this side, so when we're on the other side, it'll all be great, right?
David Spoon:But the cost for you and I to get into glory was the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a heavy cost for our glory.
David Spoon:And when people are seeking glory, they should be aware there is a cost attached to it.
David Spoon:Get that?
David Spoon:Very important.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Take a deep breath.
David Spoon:Okay, cool.
David Spoon:All right, here's your first trivia question.
David Spoon:Who climbed up a sycamore tree to see Jesus?
David Spoon:Luke 19, 1:10.
David Spoon:Who climbed up a sycamore tree to see Jesus?
David Spoon:What person of little stature.
David Spoon:What person of little stature climbed up a sycamore tree?
David Spoon:I never did understand why it was a sycamore tree.
David Spoon:Who climbed up a sycamore tree to see Jesus?
David Spoon:Luke chapter 19, verse 1 through 10.
David Spoon:If you think you know you can reach out to us.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:You can also text.
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or send an email.
David Spoon:David must increase.org I have my text in front of me and my emails right in front of me.
David Spoon:Now I'm going to send you up to the website, okay?
David Spoon:And I'm going to remind you that Radio Rent is due tomorrow.
David Spoon:I already told you yesterday and I'll tell you again today and I'll do so again tomorrow.
David Spoon:We are paying Radio Rent.
David Spoon:That's always a little tougher time for Dave.
David Spoon:And I'm not asking for people who have been giving to give more, unless the Lord puts it on your heart.
David Spoon:Thank you for everything you've given.
David Spoon:I'm looking for people to give who have not maybe gotten involved in that.
David Spoon:That.
David Spoon:Ask the Lord, if you can't give or don't feel the comfortableness in giving to us, pray for us, because that would be a happy camper.
David Spoon:If you would do that.
David Spoon:That would bless me just as much as the giving, for sure.
David Spoon:By the way, on the website, there is a modified information on the schedule, a few other things that I always put on there, but I don't tell people because I'm a sneaky guy.
David Spoon:And in addition, I will simply read this text, 2 Corinthians 8, 3.
David Spoon:For I testify according to their ability and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord.
David Spoon:Whatever you do, you do it, and you do it in partnership with the Lord.
David Spoon:Okay, check out the website.
David Spoon:He must increase.org prayer request org praise report looking to give to this ministry Confused by what's happening right now.
David Spoon:He must increase.org hemustincrease.org yeah, you know, I could never play the drums.
David Spoon:I'm just saying.
David Spoon:It's just.
David Spoon:Just not something I could do.
Jammin Jacob:I've always wanted to learn how to.
David Spoon:Play the drums, you know, I mean, I'm the guy that would hit the drum, the snare thing, and it would put a hole in it like the first.
David Spoon:Like.
David Spoon:I guess I won't be playing that.
David Spoon:All right, we do have somebody ready to answer the trivia question.
David Spoon:Is that correct?
David Spoon:Let's send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Speaker B:Do you think I'm a chop liver or liver chopper?
David Spoon:Do you?
David Spoon:What do you think I am?
David Spoon:Chop liver?
David Spoon:How are you, little brother?
David Spoon:Let's get the trivia question rolling right off the bat, and then we'll talk.
David Spoon:There it is.
David Spoon:It's pretty easy.
David Spoon:Here we go.
David Spoon:Who climbed up a sycamore tree to see Jesus according to Luke 19?
Speaker B:I know it wasn't a prophet, Zachariah, but he was Zacchaeus.
David Spoon:That Zacchaeus is correct.
David Spoon:That is 100% correct, Amundo.
David Spoon:Very, very good, sir.
David Spoon:And I had no doubt you would get that correct.
David Spoon:Amundo, how art thou?
David Spoon:What's happening?
David Spoon:What's the latest?
David Spoon:How's your sister doing?
Speaker B:I think she's getting better.
David Spoon:Okay, good.
Speaker B:Thank you.
David Spoon:Praise the Lord.
David Spoon:Praise the Lord.
David Spoon:What else is going on?
Speaker B:Still in progress.
Speaker B:Put it in this way.
Speaker B:And I'm still praising and praying God.
David Spoon:For the breakthrough, waiting for the moment that you come out of the wilderness and into the promised land.
David Spoon:Correct?
Speaker B:Correct.
David Spoon:Let's pray that very thing.
David Spoon:I'm not going to ask the Lord to speed it Up.
David Spoon:I'm just going to ask him to manifest it because I can't tell him how to do what he does, but I can ask him to do it right.
David Spoon:That's a different animal altogether.
David Spoon:So let's pray over that.
David Spoon:Let's pray.
David Spoon:Okay, Father, we come before you right now.
David Spoon:I lift up my brother Samson to you.
David Spoon:I ask you, Lord, I do ask you to bless him and while he's in moving from wilderness to promised land, that he would begin to see with faith the edges of the promised land.
David Spoon:That it would increase his confidence, increase his expectation, his anticipation that, Lord, when Israel was getting closer, they could see it at a distance, Lord, show it to him and let him know your deliverance is never late.
David Spoon:It's always perfect.
David Spoon:It's always exactly in your timing and manifest confidence in his heart.
David Spoon:Help him to have confidence in you and to have a high level of expectation, recognizing he is in proximity to your blessing.
David Spoon:We ask you to bless him and manifest that blessing perfectly.
David Spoon:In Jesus mighty and powerful name we pray.
David Spoon:Amen and amen.
Speaker B:Amen.
David Spoon:Amen, my brother.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Hey, brother, I'm praying for you, for the wisdom.
David Spoon:Thank you, bro.
Speaker B:I appreciate that you already requested.
David Spoon:Thank you.
David Spoon:And I need that.
David Spoon:And I really do appreciate it.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:And if I don't talk to you prior to the Thanksgiving, happy Thanksgiving to.
David Spoon:You as well, my brother.
David Spoon:To you as well.
Speaker B:Thank you.
David Spoon:All right, God bless.
Speaker B:God bless.
David Spoon:All right, so we have about two minutes left.
David Spoon:Be praying for Samson.
David Spoon:That's one of the things that we do.
David Spoon:Here's one of the things.
David Spoon:After the boys said, oh, yeah, we're able.
David Spoon:Oh, we can do this.
David Spoon:I always find that funny.
David Spoon:Oh, yeah, sure.
David Spoon:You have to be in my mind to understand what's going on.
David Spoon:Verse 23, you will indeed drink from it, he told them.
David Spoon:But I have no right to say who will sit on the thrones next to mine.
David Spoon:My Father has prepared those things for those he has chosen.
David Spoon:I want you to understand why Jesus said that.
David Spoon:Because in Jesus position on the earth, the mom was asking him to make a promise and a commitment.
David Spoon:He could not make that promise as the Jesus that has yet to be glorified because he surrendered voluntarily to the Father in becoming one of us.
David Spoon:So in that process, he does not have that authority to declare once the ascension takes place.
David Spoon:It's kind of a different game.
David Spoon:But while he's in the human form without the glorification process, he doesn't have that position.
David Spoon:He's in a position of being a servant.
David Spoon:So he yields that to the Father and remember, Jesus in his ministry said everything the Father tells me to say and do.
David Spoon:That's what I'm doing.
David Spoon:That's what I'm saying.
David Spoon:That's part of the image that God wants us to have to follow in obedience.
David Spoon:That's which the Father sets before us.
David Spoon:Without being able to see everything from the end, from the beginning, Jesus voluntarily put himself in that place, which is very important to understand.
David Spoon:But he lets them know, you're going to taste some of it.
David Spoon:And right he was.
David Spoon:But Jesus did not have that authority at that point to do that very thing they requested.
David Spoon:Wow, that's a lot of theology and a lot of teaching in a very short amount of time.
David Spoon:All right, folks, we're going to take a break and then we'll come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break, we'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
Speaker A:The Christian faith is being attacked.
Speaker A:Fifty years ago, people would disagree with Christianity, but with a sense of respect, those days are over.
Speaker A:The rage, the flesh the enemy, and the atmosphere of sin is growing and growing.
Speaker A:Jesus said in Matthew 24, the love of many will grow cold.
Speaker A:And if it's not the end now, it's certainly a lot closer than it was yesterday.
Speaker A:You may be from a Baptist background.
Speaker A:David Spoon has that.
Speaker A:You may have a Pentecostal background.
Speaker A:He has that too.
Speaker A:You may have a non denominational background.
Speaker A:Yep, he's got that as well.
Speaker A:You may be from the Church of Christ, Presbyterian Methodist Church of God or some other denomination.
Speaker A:But if you're looking for a show that's Bible based, spirit led and a bit nutty, give David a listen for a while.
Speaker A:If you like it, great.
Speaker A:If not, no worries.
Speaker A:The David Spoon Experience what is the David Spoon Experience?
David Spoon:Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God for you and I.
David Spoon:God provided his own burnt offering, his own Lamb of sacrifice.
David Spoon:Because our presentations are not that hot.
David Spoon:And this is where you get the understanding that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
David Spoon:All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
David Spoon:How many?
David Spoon:All.
David Spoon:And the wages of sin is death.
David Spoon:That's the result.
David Spoon:But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
David Spoon:And God showed his love for us while we were still sinners.
David Spoon:That Christ died for us.
David Spoon:That's the love.
David Spoon:He was the sacrificial lamb.
David Spoon:And if you have never made that decision, I invite you right now to make that decision to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord.
David Spoon:If you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
David Spoon:Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
David Spoon:This is where you get John 3:16, which people will say is the Gospel in a scripture which is not far off.
David Spoon:For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
David Spoon:That gift is available for you.
David Spoon:And if you have never exercised that acceptance of that gift, I encourage you to do so by saying this prayer.
David Spoon:And don't go anywhere, because I got another one for all of us.
David Spoon:Heavenly Father, I surrender my life.
David Spoon:Lord Jesus Christ, I give you my heart.
David Spoon:Pour out your Holy Spirit, for I believe you rose from the dead.
David Spoon:And I confess with my mouth you died for my sins.
David Spoon:According to the scriptures, you were buried, and three days later you rose again.
David Spoon:You ascended to the Father and are coming back soon.
David Spoon:And I thank you for this new life you've given me.
David Spoon:I praise you and pray this in your name.
David Spoon:Amen.
David Spoon:If you prayed that prayer for the first time, you are now a Christian.
