11-18-24 Part 1 Leadership qualifications for Titus on Crete

The first qualification, found in verse 6, is that an elder must be

blameless. Not perfect, but blameless. There’s a difference (not

convictable). He must be the husband of one wife. Again, the Greek is

very clear. This is the current situation, not anything dealing with the

past. If somebody has had a tough past and becomes a Christian, that

past is not reflected in this qualification. He also must have faithful

children, which means children who are living at home and are young,

not adult children who have moved out.

In a captivating episode of the David Spoon Experience, Dr. David Spoon intertwines humor with heartfelt discussions on the significance of prayer within the Christian community. He opens the floor to his audience, encouraging them to share their prayer needs, and emphasizes the profound impact that prayer can have on individual lives and collective circumstances. Spoon's engaging style invites listeners to participate actively, fostering a sense of belonging and highlighting the communal aspect of faith. His emphasis on the importance of prayer as a vital tool for change resonates throughout the episode, reinforcing the idea that faith is not just a personal journey but a shared experience among believers.

Delving deeper into scripture, Spoon shifts focus to the qualifications of church leaders as outlined in the book of Titus. He articulates that effective leadership hinges on qualities such as being blameless and maintaining a healthy family life. Spoon's insights challenge traditional notions of leadership, advocating for a model of service rather than authority. This discussion is not merely theoretical; it is grounded in real-life application, encouraging listeners to consider how these principles can be integrated into their own lives, whether in church leadership or personal relationships.

The episode reaches a poignant moment when Spoon prays for a caller named Jamie, who shares her struggles with familial relationships. This personal connection serves as a powerful reminder of the show's mission to support and uplift listeners through prayer and community. Spoon's prayer is a heartfelt plea for strength and healing, encapsulating the essence of the show: to provide a platform where faith meets practical life challenges. Overall, this episode exemplifies the David Spoon Experience's unique blend of humor, spirituality, and community support, making it a must-listen for anyone seeking encouragement and connection through their faith journey.

Hello, everybody.

David Spoon:

When it's cold outside, I've got the month of.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up on today's experience.

David Spoon:

It's Dr.

David Spoon:

Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DD DDDs, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.

David Spoon:

Sound effects placed throughout the show which have nothing to do with life, but the Bible teaches in Ecclesiastes 3, 4.

David Spoon:

There's a time to laugh, and I'm in a good laughing mood.

David Spoon:

The review of the goofy news, which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.

David Spoon:

If you're a genuine Christian, you ought to be going, yay.

David Spoon:

Life lessons for our faith that we can actually.

David Spoon:

Won't actually use.

David Spoon:

Probably won't, though, if we sit on our blessed assurance, humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?

David Spoon:

Because apparently it seems to be my passion, I guess.

David Spoon:

Also Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.

David Spoon:

Living this life, not always easy running in.

David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.

David Spoon:

My name is Dr.

David Spoon:

David Spoon, and I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.

David Spoon:

Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.

David Spoon:

Here is the key to the show.

David Spoon:

We don't know what we're doing.

David Spoon:

We have no idea what's going to happen and we don't care.

David Spoon:

But for the next few minutes, I want to talk faith with you.

David Spoon:

So here we go.

David Spoon:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

David Spoon:

That thingy there.

David Spoon:

That thingy there about being a Christian.

David Spoon:

Here's your question.

David Spoon:

In our audience are people that understand the power of prayer, that it can change the universe, it can change your circumstance, it can change your health, it can change your wealth, it can change everything and anything if God says, yes, it is so.

David Spoon:

And we have people in the audience that love to pray for other people, believe it, have confidence in the goodness of God.

David Spoon:

I'm sorry, we're not going to line up with the politicians and the media people and the academia people and things of that world because it's pretty simple.

David Spoon:

Prayer works, and it doesn't work for those who don't believe.

David Spoon:

Hmm, interesting thought there.

David Spoon:

So what can our prayer warriors pray for you about?

David Spoon:

What can our audience, our people, our faithful pray for you about?

David Spoon:

Petition the Lord in partnership with you.

David Spoon:

What can they pray for you about?

David Spoon:

That's the question.

David Spoon:

If you have, by the way, an opinion, a comment, a thought or a question, please don't let it die of loneliness.

David Spoon:

Just reach out and give us a call.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

Talking Jacob is like heading into the week with great faith and expectation.

David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

Happy Monday.

David Spoon:

Happy Monday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

How you feeling today?

David Spoon:

Feeling good.

David Spoon:

I'm feeling good.

David Spoon:

How are you feeling?

David Spoon:

I'm feeling really good.

David Spoon:

We'll talk about Jake's take and the roar later on.

David Spoon:

I think that's what we'll do.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we got a lot of stuff to cover, scripturally wise.

David Spoon:

But here's a couple things I want to tell you.

David Spoon:

We are going to be praying for Robert.

David Spoon:

Rosalyn and Robert been going through a lot of spiritual warfare.

David Spoon:

But Robert's back.

David Spoon:

He hurt his back.

David Spoon:

And so we want to take advantage of our fellowship with them, our faith, and pray over Robert in his back.

David Spoon:

Because I've been there before.

David Spoon:

It's a terrible place to be and a lot of you have been there before and you know how difficult it is.

David Spoon:

So we are going to open up with some prayer in just a bit.

David Spoon:

But before we do that, you know you can call us.

David Spoon:

It's a telephone.

David Spoon:

It probably won't bite you.

David Spoon:

That I'm aware of.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

As we often do, a little slower for Those who need it.

David Spoon:

,:

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

Additionally, you can send an email that's Safe to David must increase.org D A V I D.

David Spoon:

That's me at a with a circle.

David Spoon:

He must increase from John 3:30.

David Spoon:

He must increase.

David Spoon:

I must decrease.org because we're a non profit group, that's why.

David Spoon:

And so you can in fact ask.

David Spoon:

You can ask for prayer for yourself or for somebody else.

David Spoon:

Somebody you know, they just need prayer.

David Spoon:

They don't even know you're asking.

David Spoon:

But you just want people to pray for them.

David Spoon:

Cool, let's do it.

David Spoon:

That's what the people of God are supposed to do.

David Spoon:

Galatians, chapter 6, verse 2.

David Spoon:

Carry one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.

David Spoon:

Here's A big part of that.

David Spoon:

That doesn't mean everybody just carries everything for you.

David Spoon:

It means we all carry stuff for one another.

David Spoon:

So if you want to have people helping you carry stuff, you should start by caring for other people.

David Spoon:

You want to have a couple of really good best friends?

David Spoon:

Be a best friend.

David Spoon:

You want to receive a couple of really cool blessings from the Lord, Be a blessing.

David Spoon:

That's how you want to do it.

David Spoon:

So you can either do it.

David Spoon:

And it can be for a prayer request, you know, it can be for a praise report.

David Spoon:

How awesome are praise reports now?

David Spoon:

A long time ago, we would just call them testimonies.

David Spoon:

We maybe we've matured in that, I'm not really sure.

David Spoon:

But we have now moved them to versus testimonies, actual praise reports.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because when you give a praise report, it does the one most important thing of all.

David Spoon:

You were created for the glory of God.

David Spoon:

Isaiah, chapter 43, verse 7.

David Spoon:

When you share that praise report, it brings glory, it blesses other people, and by golly, on top of that, it strengthens it in your own life.

David Spoon:

Isn't that cool?

David Spoon:

That is cool.

David Spoon:

So it can be a praise report, it can be a prayer request.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got something going on and you want to share a scripture.

David Spoon:

It's not as deep into the political realms as many people know.

David Spoon:

We are more focused on encouraging one another.

David Spoon:

Hebrews:

David Spoon:

As we see the day of the Lord's return getting closer and closer.

David Spoon:

And it is, is you got the possibility that there's another major war on another front.

David Spoon:

It's like, I don't know how we're going to keep it going.

David Spoon:

I guess God will just keep dropping his crazy glue on the planet to keep us together until the right time.

David Spoon:

We want to pray for that.

David Spoon:

Share a scripture, Something the Lord's done with you.

David Spoon:

Something that blessed you this weekend.

David Spoon:

And you know what?

David Spoon:

It blessed you.

David Spoon:

And you know what?

David Spoon:

You just want to use that to bless other people.

David Spoon:

That's awesome, too.

David Spoon:

We're going to start off by going into prayer for Robert's back, as well as a few other things.

David Spoon:

So do me a favor, get going.

David Spoon:

Don't close your eyes while you're driving.

David Spoon:

I hope your name's not Keeley.

David Spoon:

That would help.

David Spoon:

Bottom line is we're going to come to the Lord with prayer.

David Spoon:

And what do we try to get rid of when we come to the Lord in prayer?

David Spoon:

Any distractions.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

That's not the way to pray in distraction.

David Spoon:

We pray unto the Lord, separate unto the Lord.

David Spoon:

Let's do It Father, we come before you right now.

David Spoon:

We open up this week, we open up this Monday.

David Spoon:

We say thank you for this day.

David Spoon:

This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.

David Spoon:

And we do right now.

David Spoon:

We rejoice in it.

David Spoon:

We are glad in it.

David Spoon:

We thank you for it.

David Spoon:

We look forward, Jesus, to your return as it is coming very soon.

David Spoon:

We look forward to hearing the trumpet and having everything change.

David Spoon:

It's awesome.

David Spoon:

It's our power.

David Spoon:

It's one of our big powers, Lord, is to just pull fully reside in you.

David Spoon:

And Lord, we want to pray for Robert and his back, most specifically, many people who can hear my voice know what it is to have bad back pain.

David Spoon:

It is really difficult, mobile wise, pain wise, concentration wise.

David Spoon:

Then you kind of feel helpless.

David Spoon:

Lord, we ask you to help Robert in his back, bring your healing power.

David Spoon:

You are Jehovah, rapha.

David Spoon:

That's Exodus:

David Spoon:

You told us, you told us by his stripes we are healed.

David Spoon:

First Peter, chapter 2, verse 24.

David Spoon:

You told us Zechariah 4, 6.

David Spoon:

By the power of your spirit, bring your healing power into Robert's back.

David Spoon:

Let him do better.

David Spoon:

Let him not be sidelined.

David Spoon:

So difficult to move around and protect Rosalyn and Robert.

David Spoon:

And Lord, protect other people that are connected to us.

David Spoon:

People that are having struggles in relationships, people that are having struggles financially, people that are having struggles because there's an unsurity of what is taking place around the corner.

David Spoon:

Lord, we ask you in the name of Jesus to remind us of your truth and your presence.

David Spoon:

And what you told us multiple times in your word is you are here.

David Spoon:

Don't be afraid.

David Spoon:

You are with us.

David Spoon:

Don't be afraid.

David Spoon:

So help us not to be afraid, but to live in full confidence in the faithfulness that comes from you.

David Spoon:

We trust you, Lord.

David Spoon:

We bet our lives, our eternal lives on you.

David Spoon:

And you are good to us.

David Spoon:

We pray this with thanksgiving in our hearts.

David Spoon:

And we pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

David Spoon:

Okey dokey.

David Spoon:

Now get ready because we're going to be jumping into Titus.

David Spoon:

We've already been in there, we've already done a couple of teachings out of it, but we've got to go right back to it because we're in a very important point.

David Spoon:

We're in Titus, we're in chapter one.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna rehash a little bit on verse five just cause I wanna make sure we have the good buildup into the text.

David Spoon:

Here's what it says the reason I left you in Crete was to set right what was left undone.

David Spoon:

And as I directed you to appoint elders in every town, it's not for nothing that Titus was left in Crete.

David Spoon:

It was so that he could help.

David Spoon:

So that he can help structure the leadership.

David Spoon:

We talked about this last week.

David Spoon:

Bad leadership is bad.

David Spoon:

I don't think that's rocket science, is it?

David Spoon:

It's bad.

David Spoon:

Bad leadership's a bad thing.

David Spoon:

John Maxwell said it great.

David Spoon:

If after the leader is done, if you're better off, it was good leadership.

David Spoon:

If you're not, then it wasn't.

David Spoon:

It's just that simple.

David Spoon:

It's like, whoa.

David Spoon:

That's pretty straightforward.

David Spoon:

Yeah, that's how it is.

David Spoon:

And so Paul says, I directed you to appoint elders, so there's gotta be a sense of organization.

David Spoon:

So he's gotta appoint elders.

David Spoon:

Which meant that their whole area was lacking in leadership.

David Spoon:

I got message for you.

David Spoon:

If nobody steps up, there's going to be no leadership.

David Spoon:

That boy, that's dangerous.

David Spoon:

No leadership is a dangerous place.

David Spoon:

Many of you can relate to that right now.

David Spoon:

And so he starts off by saying this.

David Spoon:

An elder must be blameless.

David Spoon:

This is verse six.

David Spoon:

I want you to understand something about blameless.

David Spoon:

Because people have again, kind of thrown their own interpretation as to what that means.

David Spoon:

Blameless is not the kind of word that we would think of.

David Spoon:

Because you'd think, oh, it's got to be perfect.

David Spoon:

Wrong.

David Spoon:

Christians aren't perfect.

David Spoon:

We're forgiven by the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

Every Christian exists under the redemption of Christ.

David Spoon:

So the first qualification in verse 6 is an elder must be blameless.

David Spoon:

Not perfect, but blameless.

David Spoon:

And there's a difference.

David Spoon:

Blameless means not convictible.

David Spoon:

He hasn't done something that evidences proof that he could be guilty by charge.

David Spoon:

That's what it has to do with.

David Spoon:

So that's a powerful difference between being perfect and being blameless.

David Spoon:

And I want you to understand this.

David Spoon:

And then Paul goes on to say, that must be the husband of one wife.

David Spoon:

Again, I know what people say.

David Spoon:

I know how they try to interpret it.

David Spoon:

But what it says is this.

David Spoon:

An elder must be blameless.

David Spoon:

The husband of one wife with faithful children who are not accused of wildness or rebellion.

David Spoon:

Must be is the phrase.

David Spoon:

What do you mean, must be?

David Spoon:

Why is that important?

David Spoon:

Because it's the current situation, not the past.

David Spoon:

People have been really bad in the B.C.

David Spoon:

days before Christ, and then they get saved and things change and they start walking in a way that honors the Lord and the Lord loves it, and they're blessed.

David Spoon:

And because they were married before and then they got divorced and now they're married again and they've become a Christian and they're being faithful, they're not disqualified for service.

David Spoon:

It is absurd.

David Spoon:

If everything was based on what we did in the past, none of us would get saved.

David Spoon:

Remember, Christ died for us while we were still sinners.

David Spoon:

Romans Road.

David Spoon:

Romans 5, 8.

David Spoon:

So if somebody has a tough past and becomes a Christian, that past does not reject them from qualifying.

David Spoon:

Then he goes on to say this.

David Spoon:

An elder must be blameless.

David Spoon:

The husband of one wife with faithful children who are not accused of wildness or rebellion.

David Spoon:

That word children are little children, children at home, not adult children.

David Spoon:

It's little children.

David Spoon:

They got to be able to manage their house.

David Spoon:

Or how are they supposed to manage the house of God?

David Spoon:

So this is referring to, and I want you to make sure you understand that not adult children who have moved out, but children who are children and how you know what age or so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

Remember Jesus, there was a little child amongst them.

David Spoon:

And what he did in Mark, chapter nine, he pointed to the child and told them, hey, you gotta be like this little child.

David Spoon:

Now the child was standing there, so we know the child is old enough to stand.

David Spoon:

But then the Bible says Jesus picked the child up in his arms.

David Spoon:

So the child's old enough to stand, but not 15 or 16 because Jesus wouldn't be picking him up.

David Spoon:

It's a little child.

David Spoon:

And what he's trying to communicate is these little children, they can't be like off the reservation.

David Spoon:

No discipline from the parents.

David Spoon:

That's a bad thing.

David Spoon:

Because Jesus said, as many as I love, I rebuke and discipline.

David Spoon:

You have to discipline your kids.

David Spoon:

Something's wrong, according to Jesus.

David Spoon:

And no, love is not love.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

That's one of the biggest lies there is.

David Spoon:

It's like incredible.

David Spoon:

So he lays it out.

David Spoon:

You've got to be.

David Spoon:

Listen to what he's saying.

David Spoon:

An elder must be blameless.

David Spoon:

The husband of one wife with faithful children, not accused of wildness or rebellion when he goes into the next.

David Spoon:

As an overseer of God's household, he must be blameless.

David Spoon:

Not arrogant, not hot tempered, not an excessive drinker.

David Spoon:

There's just three right in a row.

David Spoon:

Just look at those.

David Spoon:

The elder's gotta be blameless.

David Spoon:

The husband of one wife, faithful with children who are not accused of wilderness or rebellion.

David Spoon:

An overseer of God's household.

David Spoon:

As an overseer of God's household, he must be blameless.

David Spoon:

Not arrogant, not hot tempered, not an excessive drinker.

David Spoon:

Those three go together.

David Spoon:

I know you guys are.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

No, no, you gotta understand what we're talking about here.

David Spoon:

We're talking about somebody who's arrogant.

David Spoon:

I can do whatever I want.

David Spoon:

Hot tempered.

David Spoon:

I get angry at a drop of a hat.

David Spoon:

Yeah, the hat dropped.

David Spoon:

I'm angry and not an excessive drinker.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because when you excessively drink, arrogance and hot temper come out in spades.

David Spoon:

They come out much higher amounts.

David Spoon:

I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

David Spoon:

Can't do that.

David Spoon:

And I love the translation for the Christian Standard Bible.

David Spoon:

It says, not a bully.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

A leader is not supposed to be a bully.

David Spoon:

Do you understand?

David Spoon:

A leader is supposed to partner with people, guide, direct, encourage uplift.

David Spoon:

If you have a church and the pastor, the leaders, the people are bullies, that is scripturally unsound.

David Spoon:

That's what it's saying.

David Spoon:

And not greedy for money.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because you can't serve God and money can't do it.

David Spoon:

You can't serve both.

David Spoon:

You either serve God or serve money, but you're not serving both.

David Spoon:

That's the call.

David Spoon:

And these are just quicker qualifications in Tita, in Crete for Titus to use.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

We've said it before because he didn't have as much to deal with.

David Spoon:

And when people are planting churches in different areas and there's less people to deal with, it's evident from Scripture that the qualifications drop a notch.

David Spoon:

Of course they do.

David Spoon:

There's less to choose from.

David Spoon:

That's just practical pastoral living.

David Spoon:

Get over it.

David Spoon:

Here we go into it with our first trivia question.

David Spoon:

Which army was Goliath with when he went to make war with Israel?

David Spoon:

Which army was Goliath with when he went to make war with Israel?

David Spoon:

1st Samuel 17:4 is where your reference point is.

David Spoon:

And if you think you know, you can give us a call.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidimusincrease.org Three ways to get in touch with us.

David Spoon:

Standing outside your house and yelling, David.

David Spoon:

Won't work.

David Spoon:

Okay, so try the phone or try the text or try an email if you want to send us a paper airplane.

David Spoon:

I just hope you're really good at the construction part.

David Spoon:

If you think you know the answer to the trivia question, which army was Goliath with when he went to make war with Israel?

David Spoon:

If you think you know, and your reference point, like I told you, is 1 Samuel 17:4.

David Spoon:

You can call us, you can text us, you can email us.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.

David Spoon:

Why am I doing that?

David Spoon:

Because our website has got a lot of cool stuff.

David Spoon:

That's why.

David Spoon:

And because there's a place to give and we want to encourage you.

David Spoon:

Giving is cool from our point of view.

David Spoon:

We did get over that big hump, everybody.

David Spoon:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

David Spoon:

And I'm not going to just beat the drums.

David Spoon:

Got to give every.

David Spoon:

You know what, you do your best between you and the Lord.

David Spoon:

If you want to give, great.

David Spoon:

If you don't want to give, great, you can pray for us.

David Spoon:

Don't tell me you can't do that.

David Spoon:

Yes, you can.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

And you can check out all our cool stuff, cool videos, even some interesting links that are new.

David Spoon:

Check it out on the website.

David Spoon:

Hemosincrease.org Prayer Request hemosincrease.org Praise Report hemostincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org Confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org hemustincrease.org they're moving in herds.

David Spoon:

They do move in herds.

David Spoon:

They move in herds.

David Spoon:

They do move in herds.

David Spoon:

Okay, come on.

David Spoon:

That's better.

David Spoon:

Get ready.

David Spoon:

We're gonna start doing other sounds and stuff.

David Spoon:

What do you.

David Spoon:

I got, I got Jacob.

David Spoon:

He doesn't know this yet.

David Spoon:

You got to be hunting down for underdog.

David Spoon:

You'll understand.

David Spoon:

Just hunt it down.

David Spoon:

You'll get it.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

And that's the cartoon character.

David Spoon:

All right, so an elder must be blameless.

David Spoon:

The husband and wife with faithful children who are not accused of wildness or rebellion.

David Spoon:

So if a Pastor's got a 40 year old and the 40 year old jumps off the train, that is not the.

David Spoon:

That 40 year old is standing on his own.

David Spoon:

You understand what I'm trying to say?

David Spoon:

You can't count that against the minister.

David Spoon:

Once again, real quickly, what army was Goliath with when he went to make war, war, war with Israel.

David Spoon:

If you think you know, reach out to us.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Okay, right back.

David Spoon:

Overseer.

David Spoon:

God's household got to be blameless, right?

David Spoon:

Can't label, accuse him with anything and have it stick, so to speak.

David Spoon:

And Remember, the devil is the accuser of the brethren.

David Spoon:

It's not that, it's just the accusation.

David Spoon:

And that's a problem that the church actually has.

David Spoon:

If somebody is heard and then there's an accusation against them, it can be false.

David Spoon:

You need to be aware of that.

David Spoon:

We've had that with politicians for ages gone by.

David Spoon:

They're lies.

David Spoon:

And they did the exact same thing to Jesus.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

They falsely accused him.

David Spoon:

They couldn't pin it on him.

David Spoon:

That's what it's talking about.

David Spoon:

Not arrogant, not hot tempered, not an excessive drinker, not a bully and not greedy for money.

David Spoon:

This can't be about ministry being about money.

David Spoon:

It cannot be.

David Spoon:

It is not permitted to be about money.

David Spoon:

How about that?

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

But hospitable, which means what?

David Spoon:

You don't.

David Spoon:

You're not.

David Spoon:

Let me say it this way.

David Spoon:

I love John the Baptist.

David Spoon:

We have our ministry tagline off of John the Baptist.

David Spoon:

I don't think that's difficult to understand.

David Spoon:

But John was much less hospitable and more towards his ministerial calling.

David Spoon:

Well, a pastor, an elder, an overseer has got to be a little bit more hospitable than.

David Spoon:

Come meet me in my office at the third cactus to the left.

David Spoon:

Do you understand?

David Spoon:

And it says, loving what is good.

David Spoon:

You know if it's good.

David Spoon:

And you know what, you know if it's not good, don't you?

David Spoon:

Sensible.

David Spoon:

It makes sense.

David Spoon:

Righteous.

David Spoon:

Walking in the righteousness of Christ and the righteousness that comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

Holy.

David Spoon:

Which means separated and self controlled.

David Spoon:

That's a big deal.

David Spoon:

Having the ability to control oneself.

David Spoon:

You get it?

David Spoon:

All right, we do have somebody on the line that wants to answer trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock knock.

David Spoon:

This is David, who am I talking to?

Jamie:

Hello, this is Jamie.

David Spoon:

Hi, Jamie, how are you?

Jamie:

Hi, David.

Jamie:

I haven't been able to tune in in a long time and I.

Jamie:

I'm on the road, so I don't know if I have good reception, but I can hear you.

David Spoon:

Oh, that's good.

David Spoon:

I'm glad you can let me set you up with a question.

David Spoon:

You can give me the answer the best you can.

David Spoon:

Okay, best I can.

Jamie:

I'll try.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Which army was with Goliath when he went to make war with Israel?

David Spoon:

What was?

David Spoon:

The army.

Jamie:

The army.

Jamie:

Now see, that might be a little trick question, but all I know, he was a Philistine.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

Jamie:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

He was a philistine.

David Spoon:

He was their champion, so to speak.

David Spoon:

And it's like, yeah, that ain't going to work out.

David Spoon:

So good for you, buddy.

David Spoon:

You're going against the people of God.

David Spoon:

And while God might take a couple routes for us to get there, he always gets us there.

David Spoon:

To the promised land.

David Spoon:

Hallelujah.

David Spoon:

Hallelujah.

David Spoon:

How are you overall?

David Spoon:

You doing well?

Jamie:

I am hanging in there.

David Spoon:

Do you need prayer for encouragement?

Jamie:

I have a daughter who left me with my only grandchild, my only daughter, my only grandchildren.

Jamie:

But I'm learning that this is more common than we think.

Jamie:

And I do believe that ties into the scriptures in the end times.

Jamie:

I've never liked reading that passage concerning children and parents and parents and children.

David Spoon:

Yep.

Jamie:

But it is real.

Jamie:

And God has crossed my path with so many other suffering.

Jamie:

It's a spiritual battle.

Jamie:

And anyone listening, stay steady and focused.

Jamie:

Stay in prayer.

Jamie:

Hunker down with God.

Jamie:

And I believe my daughter will return to him and to me.

Jamie:

Let me have found out she left the country.

Jamie:

I do know that.

Jamie:

And I haven't seen my granddaughter since she was 5.

Jamie:

And she was with us more than her mom.

David Spoon:

Wow.

Jamie:

Because her mom finishing PhDs and was in the military.

David Spoon:

Jamie, let me pray over you.

Jamie:

Okay.

David Spoon:

You good for that?

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

We're gonna stretch long on this one.

David Spoon:

We just have to have our ID break.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

So we'll do it.

David Spoon:

Let me pray over you.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Let me pray.

Jamie:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now and lift up Jamie to you.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, I just want to thank you for her sharing her heart.

David Spoon:

Lord, that's a sister in the Lord, in you, our sister.

David Spoon:

And we help her right now.

David Spoon:

We carry this burden with her.

David Spoon:

We pray for her and with her, that you would have a fortification of strength, an infusion of energy from you, God, that gives her the strength, the ability, the confidence that says, I will in Christ, get through this and do the best I can before you.

David Spoon:

Lord, let her have that anointing, that power, that infusion, and let the grace and the mercy that come from you, God, pour into her heart and mind and let her have such confidence in your faithfulness that she actually has peace where she should have no peace, because your peace passes our understanding.

David Spoon:

Grant that to her and grant her the comfort and grant her the support and love her.

David Spoon:

And let us love her by praying for her.

David Spoon:

And let her know she is not alone.

David Spoon:

Bless her, encourage her, and let her testify to your glory and grace.

David Spoon:

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

David Spoon:

Amen and amen.

Jamie:

Amen.

Jamie:

Thank you.

Jamie:

Thank you so much.

Jamie:

And I receive.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

You keep us posted whether you text or whether you send an email, you keep us posted.

David Spoon:

These people in this audience, Jamie, we will keep praying for you until you get to where you're trying to get to.

David Spoon:

Okay?

Jamie:

Thank you.

Jamie:

Be blessed.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

You too.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

Jamie:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Excellent job by Jamie.

David Spoon:

I want everybody who heard that call to at least make the commitment this week to two separate times praying for Jamie.

David Spoon:

I don't care when, I don't care how.

David Spoon:

But if you're thinking of somebody to pray for it, there's one right there.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Your sister in the Lord.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll break.

David Spoon:

I don't know how the break's going to go.

David Spoon:

I'm going to let Jacob figure it out.

David Spoon:

But we're going to break here.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Smoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere, just as I am.

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
