Jammin' Jacob:

And now for something completely different.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's wild and wonderful.

Jammin' Jacob:

What's gonna happen?

Jammin' Jacob:

We have no idea.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's sit back and enjoy the ride.

Jammin' Jacob:

Can I get a Wowzer Bowser Wednesday because God is in charge of this crazy bus called the Christian Journey.

Jammin' Jacob:

First, there are sermons that I love to teach and preach.

Jammin' Jacob:

And then there are the messages that I love to use to reach.

Jammin' Jacob:

Because more than a teacher or a preacher, I like to be a reacher.

Jammin' Jacob:

This will be designed to reach you and me at the depths of our hearts.

Jammin' Jacob:

We are in the most fantastic relationship possible for mankind.

Jammin' Jacob:

And while we're in it, we should continue to seek to advance our king's kingdom.

Jammin' Jacob:

Next.

Jammin' Jacob:

The most awesome thing is that we get to discover that what is closely connected to why we exist, closely connected to our purpose for being and closely connected for our reason for existing, is the very thing God wants us to be doing.

Jammin' Jacob:

What?

Jammin' Jacob:

It's a partnership between what God desires of us and what we desire to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

And it's placed there by God.

Jammin' Jacob:

Wow.

Jammin' Jacob:

And finally, in a modest attempt, we will try to help one another review what it is that God wants us to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

I cannot tell you what it is that God wants you to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

Specifically.

Jammin' Jacob:

The ultimate irony is that God has already told you.

Jammin' Jacob:

That means that somewhere inside of you, connected to your relationship with God is the very thing that you desire the most.

Jammin' Jacob:

That he desires the most.

Jammin' Jacob:

And that is designed based on his phenomenal planning.

Jammin' Jacob:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

Jammin' Jacob:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

Jammin' Jacob:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.

Jammin' Jacob:

The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

Jammin' Jacob:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

Jammin' Jacob:

He joined KAM and this radio program began.

Jammin' Jacob:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

Jammin' Jacob:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

Jammin' Jacob:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

Jammin' Jacob:

Lessons for surviving, living and prevailing nice politics, entertainment and current events.

Jammin' Jacob:

Personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities and nueva so much more.

Jammin' Jacob:

Now remember, it's not professional radio.

Jammin' Jacob:

And to make sure you understand it's not professional radio from the Flintstones, we will ask the Grand Poobah.

Jammin' Jacob:

The Grand Poobah.

Jammin' Jacob:

Grand Poobah Jamming Jacob, is the David Smoot Experience professional radio?

Jammin' Jacob:

No, it is not David.

Jammin' Jacob:

There you go, Grand Puba from the Flintstones.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just to let you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, you heard it here first.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's not professional radio.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's radio half the time.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's not even radio.

Jammin' Jacob:

We sure have a good time, right?

Jammin' Jacob:

We love the Lord and that's really the big key, is we just enjoy each other's fellowship, blessing, encouraging and strengthening one another.

Jammin' Jacob:

So what's the deal?

Jammin' Jacob:

What are we looking for from you and what are you looking for from us?

Jammin' Jacob:

Here it is to bless one another.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's what we're looking for.

Jammin' Jacob:

So you can send us an email.

Jammin' Jacob:

David, must increase.org I do.

Jammin' Jacob:

I get the emails.

Jammin' Jacob:

I really do.

Jammin' Jacob:

Really.

Jammin' Jacob:

David, must increase.org you can text us live during the show.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

Or you can call us.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

We can't prove it, but we have a good authority.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

And when you call that number, he says it all the time because there's new people.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

You'll end up talking to Jammin Jacob.

Jammin' Jacob:

Talking to Jammin Jacob is like waking up and feeling like you got a great night's sleep.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thank you, David.

Jammin' Jacob:

Happy Wednesday.

Jammin' Jacob:

Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.

Jammin' Jacob:

I understand you are soloing it here at the station, so all things are on your shoulders.

Jammin' Jacob:

Are you feeling a little bent over because of all the pressure or do you feel like you got it handled so far?

Jammin' Jacob:

I think I've got it.

Jammin' Jacob:

The station is still running fine.

Jammin' Jacob:

The building's not burning down.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm doing okay so far here at 2:00.

Jammin' Jacob:

So I'm almost there.

Jammin' Jacob:

Almost to the finish line today.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yeah.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's good, though.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's good that the burning.

Jammin' Jacob:

The building's not burning.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's a good thing.

Jammin' Jacob:

So good job on that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Anyway, that would be a real bummer on the resume.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did a really good job.

Jammin' Jacob:

Burned down the building.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

So always good to have my friend Jacob with us here.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let me make this simple.

Jammin' Jacob:

Why would you contact us?

Jammin' Jacob:

It could be for praise reports because there's something you want to share that the Lord's blessed you in.

Jammin' Jacob:

In fact, Jeanette, we prayed for Jeanette.

Jammin' Jacob:

We prayed for her and her daughter.

Jammin' Jacob:

And she just wanted us to know that she received a positive, positive message from her daughter yesterday that was encouraging for her.

Jammin' Jacob:

And she's just really blessed to be in that relationship with her.

Jammin' Jacob:

And so that's a blessing because the Lord granted her that.

Jammin' Jacob:

And that's one of the things that we want to do, is we want to hear those things.

Jammin' Jacob:

We want to hear that God has done those things.

Jammin' Jacob:

They seem like they're so small, but they're not small.

Jammin' Jacob:

In fact, I love something that I was sharing with somebody recently about the idea of gracelets.

Jammin' Jacob:

Gracelets are little braces of grace on your wrist.

Jammin' Jacob:

And when the Lord does something small, but it blesses you, it too should be acknowledged.

Jammin' Jacob:

We want you to be able to do that on this show.

Jammin' Jacob:

We want you to be able to have a prayer request.

Jammin' Jacob:

We're going to go into prayer in about two seconds.

Jammin' Jacob:

We're going to pray for Keith Oakley and we're going to pray for Nancy.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm going to pray for everybody in general.

Jammin' Jacob:

But if you have something specific, even after this, whether it's for health or for finances or relationship or whatever, we'll pray because that's the best thing we can do, is bring it before the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

Right?

Jammin' Jacob:

And maybe you've just got a scripture you want to share or something else.

Jammin' Jacob:

And we'll do Bible trivia when we're done with the prayer.

Jammin' Jacob:

But it's open for the Christian community.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's what it's open for.

Jammin' Jacob:

And even for people who aren't Christians, you can still call and ask prayer.

Jammin' Jacob:

We'll certainly pray for you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, let's go to prayer, though, for Keith and for Nancy.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's do it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Father, we come before you right now.

Jammin' Jacob:

We thank you for Jeanette's praise.

Jammin' Jacob:

Awesome.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thank you, Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thank you that you said yes and gave her that blessing, that gracelet.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's cool.

Jammin' Jacob:

Lord, we just want to lift up Keith Oakley to you.

Jammin' Jacob:

I had a great talk with him.

Jammin' Jacob:

Brief, but.

Jammin' Jacob:

But talking.

Jammin' Jacob:

He's got some struggles in his eyes and just things going on.

Jammin' Jacob:

And Lord, we prayed yesterday, but I want to pray again.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want everybody else's faith with mine.

Jammin' Jacob:

Lord, you help people see.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's what you do.

Jammin' Jacob:

And we are asking you to help him with his eyes.

Jammin' Jacob:

Take the fluttering out, take the discomfort out and enable his eyes to see he's having a tough time with it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Get him off over that hump.

Jammin' Jacob:

And Lord, we lift up Nancy.

Jammin' Jacob:

She's got all things going on all throughout the family and she's trying to hang on.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's what we're praying for.

Jammin' Jacob:

That her faith would be steadfast, her vision would be fixed and focused on you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Not moved about by circumstance, but moving things because she has faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

And Lord, I just want to pray for our audience.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's some uncertainty.

Jammin' Jacob:

For some people.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's a fear and an anxiety.

Jammin' Jacob:

Lord, we come against that in the name of Jesus.

Jammin' Jacob:

We speak comfort and peace and grace for those that are feeling that anxiety and it's overwhelming.

Jammin' Jacob:

We pray that they would seize faith and overcome fear through the power of faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

Because nothing gets past you.

Jammin' Jacob:

What can man do to me?

Jammin' Jacob:

I will not be afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

But Lord, you have us in the palm of your hands.

Jammin' Jacob:

Please keep us close to you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just like a shadow.

Jammin' Jacob:

Keep us close to you.

Jammin' Jacob:

I thank you for these two and for everybody in our audience.

Jammin' Jacob:

Break that spirit of fear and those that are engaged in that and let them operate.

Jammin' Jacob:

Empowerment, love and a sound mind.

Jammin' Jacob:

According to your word.

Jammin' Jacob:

We pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

And Amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, so again, if you need prayer, if you need.

Jammin' Jacob:

You got a praise report, something you want to share?

Jammin' Jacob:

Totally cool, Totally cool.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can reach out to us by telephone, by text or by email, or you can answer this trivia question.

Jammin' Jacob:

Very classic story.

Jammin' Jacob:

One of the few times when I teach, I make it absolutely, absolutely.

Jammin' Jacob:

I declare it from the heavens, so to speak.

Jammin' Jacob:

It shows God's sense of humor.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yes, he has a sense of humor.

Jammin' Jacob:

And if you don't think so, get a pocket mirror and you'll understand.

Jammin' Jacob:

Who heard Peter's voice at the door but failed to let him in?

Jammin' Jacob:

Who heard Peter's voice at the door after the church prayed for him, but failed to let him in?

Jammin' Jacob:

Acts, chapter 12, verses 13 and 14.

Jammin' Jacob:

Acts chapter 12, verse 13 and 14.

Jammin' Jacob:

Excellent job.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

Or you can send an email.

Jammin' Jacob:

David must increase.org in the meantime, we will do our DNA because it's important to do DNA.

Jammin' Jacob:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord Daily.

Jammin' Jacob:

So Jacob, when you hear the word daily, what's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of the word daily?

Jammin' Jacob:

I think of every day or Monday through Sunday.

Jammin' Jacob:

Ah, interesting.

Jammin' Jacob:

Very, very good, Very good answer.

Jammin' Jacob:

And we have some people out there, they think of every day or daily as every 24 hour period.

Jammin' Jacob:

Or maybe the sun rotating and so forth.

Jammin' Jacob:

All of that would be correct.

Jammin' Jacob:

Do that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Only spend time with God in each one of those.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's a good way to say that.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right, Cool.

Jammin' Jacob:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his wor.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't you be ashamed of the gospel.

Jammin' Jacob:

For what?

Jammin' Jacob:

For those people in Hollywood or academia or the people in the media or the politicians?

Jammin' Jacob:

What a joke.

Jammin' Jacob:

They don't care about you.

Jammin' Jacob:

God cares about you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't forget that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Right.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's a lot of good what does the scripture say?

Jammin' Jacob:

Let God be true, but every man a liar.

Jammin' Jacob:

Romans 3:4.

Jammin' Jacob:

Start there.

Jammin' Jacob:

So never be ashamed of Jesus and his words.

Jammin' Jacob:

Never, no matter what the case may, no matter what it costs.

Jammin' Jacob:

Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Jammin' Jacob:

D and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Jammin' Jacob:

A Always be ready to serve.

Jammin' Jacob:

Ready.

Jammin' Jacob:

I am ready, Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

I am ready.

Jammin' Jacob:

I don't know if you're going to use me.

Jammin' Jacob:

I don't know what you may or may not do, but I'm checking in in the beginning of this day, in the middle of this day, at the end of this day, saying, here am I.

Jammin' Jacob:

Use me in whatever capacity you want.

Jammin' Jacob:

Right?

Jammin' Jacob:

I mean, that is a minimum of what our heart should be wanting to do unto the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

I would say it that way.

Jammin' Jacob:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Jammin' Jacob:

A Always be ready to serve.

Jammin' Jacob:

Your trivia question I'll help a few more people, many people getting it right.

Jammin' Jacob:

But we do want people to have an opportunity who heard Peter's voice at the door but failed to let him in in Acts, chapter 12, verses 13 and 14.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here's your hint.

Jammin' Jacob:

Same name as Mary Tyler Moore's neighbor.

Jammin' Jacob:

Same name as Mary Tyler Moore's neighbor.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's see if you can get that.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's a Pretty good hint.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's get into the text that we're going to be talking about, and here's what I want you to know.

Jammin' Jacob:

I was driving and I was in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Jammin' Jacob:

I remember when this happened.

Jammin' Jacob:

I remember the exact spot.

Jammin' Jacob:

Literally the exact spot it happened in my life driving down the road.

Jammin' Jacob:

Philippians 3:12 is the thing the Lord dropped on me.

Jammin' Jacob:

Whenever that happens, a scripture comes to my mind.

Jammin' Jacob:

I start going through it word by word, trying to really am I missing something?

Jammin' Jacob:

What am I not catching?

Jammin' Jacob:

Many of you will know this.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'll share it with you.

Jammin' Jacob:

You've heard it before.

Jammin' Jacob:

But I want to pick up on something that doesn't happen a lot in the scripture.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here's what it says.

Jammin' Jacob:

Not that I have already obtained all of this or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just prior you got the forgetting those things that are behind in pressing forward to the things which are before.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's where everybody knows that scripture from.

Jammin' Jacob:

But if you look at Philippians 3:12, there's something in the middle of the verse that's really interesting.

Jammin' Jacob:

Not that I have already obtained all this or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Jammin' Jacob:

And as I am praying and meditating on the verse and talking to the Lord and kind of communing, it dawns on me, I want to take hold of that for which Jesus took hold of me.

Jammin' Jacob:

In other words, I want to seize on that for which God has seized me.

Jammin' Jacob:

For I want to do what he wants.

Jammin' Jacob:

Now, I know there's things that he wants me to do, and I'm walking in those and growing in those and developing more Christ, like in many areas, in some areas much slower than other areas.

Jammin' Jacob:

I know I'm the only Christian who could say that, but I'm just doing what I can moving forward in the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

But I also want to seize and take hold of and grasp that for which Christ Jesus grasped.

Jammin' Jacob:

You might be thinking, well, Dave, you're doing the radio ministry.

Jammin' Jacob:

I don't know what yet tomorrow is and what the ministry is or is not.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just want to keep on seizing that for which Christ Jesus seized me.

Jammin' Jacob:

Because there is an ailment in the Christian faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

What?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yep, we're going to discuss that when we get back.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's an ailment that we would do well to fix, and I'm going to talk about that when we return.

Jammin' Jacob:

But first I'm going to answer the trivia question.

Jammin' Jacob:

Who heard Peter's voice at the door but failed to let him in?

Jammin' Jacob:

Mary Tyler Moore's neighbor in that show.

Jammin' Jacob:

The answer is Rhoda.

Jammin' Jacob:

Rhoda is the answer.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yeah.

Jammin' Jacob:

She was like, it's Peter.

Jammin' Jacob:

And then she went back to argue with people, the disciples, specifically, and they said it wasn't Peter, even though they had specifically prayed for that.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's a whole separate issue.

Jammin' Jacob:

We'll take our break and then come back.

Jammin' Jacob:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KLAM 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Jammin' Jacob:

Short break.

Jammin' Jacob:

We'll be back.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't go anywhere.

Jammin' Jacob:

This KAM radio show with your very own David Spoon is not a business but a nonprofit ministry, first and foremost committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and strategically equipping the saints.

Jammin' Jacob:

Our mission is to educate, encourage and entertain Christian believers, the hurting, and those not yet believers who need biblical truths to continue our radio ministry and message of truth.

Jammin' Jacob:

We need many of our faithful listeners to support us, as well as ministry partners who might wish to sponsor the he must increase ministry by giving you wonderfully facilitate our priorities of assertively teaching the Word of God and you get nothing in return.

Jammin' Jacob:

No quid pro quo.

Jammin' Jacob:

Nothing but a receipt at the end of the year indicating you gave to us.

Jammin' Jacob:

Since Your donation is 100% tax deductible, remember that it says in Corinthians that whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Jammin' Jacob:

Or in Proverbs where he teaches that a generous person will prosper.

Jammin' Jacob:

Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Jammin' Jacob:

But if you cannot give, no problem.

Jammin' Jacob:

Continue to enjoy and learn and give however you see fit whenever you can.

Jammin' Jacob:

To support us, go to hemustincrease.org that's he must increase.org Such support is terribly appreciated, knowing it enables our beloved David Spoon to give to all of us his time energy like so few can Right here on K Double am.

Jammin' Jacob:

What is the David Spoon experience?

Jammin' Jacob:

Because what we're getting is this snapshot of Jesus and there's a lot of stuff that we do, a lot of stuff that we say, but at no point should anybody ever lose what's going on here.

Jammin' Jacob:

And when we get into our Philippians teach tomorrow you're going to see how very specific Christology, the study of Christ fits into play on Jesus Christ being honored above all and understanding how that this snapshot of Jesus plays into or leads us into the understanding of the superiority of Christ.

Jammin' Jacob:

Nobody else was fully God and fully man, period.

Jammin' Jacob:

And so nobody else can represent God to man or man to God.

Jammin' Jacob:

So in this situation we get to see the Darius he has a 12 year old daughter, she's dying.

Jammin' Jacob:

Not good news.

Jammin' Jacob:

This woman who's got this bleeding issue, issue of blood, she comes up to Jesus, touches him without saying anything.

Jammin' Jacob:

Jesus has restoration and healing for her in physical, social and psychological aspects.

Jammin' Jacob:

Which is just wonderful if you think about how Jesus, Jesus cares about the whole person.

Jammin' Jacob:

He doesn't care about a part of a person, cares about every inch of you.

Jammin' Jacob:

If you're doing well physically but you're not doing well psychologically, Jesus cares about that.

Jammin' Jacob:

If you're doing well psychologically and not doing well physically, Jesus cares about that.

Jammin' Jacob:

If you can't have contact with people and you feel like you're completely isolated, Jesus cares about that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's K double amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

770, the Truth Station here in texas, where Dr.

Jammin' Jacob:

Dave has to say, he said something wrong.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's right.

Jammin' Jacob:

When you say something wrong, what do you do?

Jammin' Jacob:

You eat it.

Jammin' Jacob:

You eat the pie.

Jammin' Jacob:

Eat humble pie right away, as often as you can.

Jammin' Jacob:

So I was talking about verse 12 in Philippians 3, saying, not that I've already attained it, already been perfected, I press on to take hold of that, for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Jammin' Jacob:

The next verse, not the verse before it.

Jammin' Jacob:

His brethren I do not count myself to have apprehended.

Jammin' Jacob:

But one thing I do forget, those things which are behind and pressing forward to the things which are before.

Jammin' Jacob:

I said it was the prior verse.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's the after verse as my fault.

Jammin' Jacob:

I did that wrong.

Jammin' Jacob:

Sorry.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

Anyway, in the meantime, we're still gonna do trivia and everything else we do.

Jammin' Jacob:

And here is your next trivia question.

Jammin' Jacob:

And an interesting question it is.

Jammin' Jacob:

Who was the only woman, the only woman mentioned by name with the apostles in the upper room while they were waiting for the promise of the Holy spirit?

Jammin' Jacob:

Acts, chapter 1, verse 14.

Jammin' Jacob:

Who was the only woman mentioned by name with the apostles in the upper room waiting for the promise?

Jammin' Jacob:

The Holy spirit?

Jammin' Jacob:

Acts, chapter one, verse 14.

Jammin' Jacob:

Nice job, Al, on the pow pow.

Jammin' Jacob:

If you think you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

Or send an email davidmussincrease.org who was the only woman mentioned by name with the apostles in the upper room waiting for the promise of the Holy Spirit?

Jammin' Jacob:

Acts 1:14.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, all right.

Jammin' Jacob:

Take a deep breath.

Jammin' Jacob:

We got a lot of stuff to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just want to remind everybody I will not be texting anybody until after 4 today.

Jammin' Jacob:

Certain days I cannot text you beforehand.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's the way it goes.

Jammin' Jacob:

And in the meantime, we're going to do a couple of jokes.

Jammin' Jacob:

Do you want to do some jokes?

Jammin' Jacob:

We haven't done jokes for a while.

Jammin' Jacob:

How about that?

Jammin' Jacob:

That's me sipping on my tea.

Jammin' Jacob:

For those that are wondering, my throat's just a little.

Jammin' Jacob:

Well, I did, you know, read part of the book for 35, 40 minutes.

Jammin' Jacob:

So it takes a little out of the voice.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here we go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Ready?

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

These are kind of short ones, like, super short.

Jammin' Jacob:

You got to catch them.

Jammin' Jacob:

They're very.

Jammin' Jacob:

What's the word I'm looking for?

Jammin' Jacob:

Curt.

Jammin' Jacob:

They're very curt.

Jammin' Jacob:

And I'm not talking about a person.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

These are maybe people that aren't the greatest people to hang around.

Jammin' Jacob:

You ready?

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, I got some short ones.

Jammin' Jacob:

Ready?

Jammin' Jacob:

Here we go.

Jammin' Jacob:

He had to see that doctor in the morning for a blood test, so he stayed up all night studying for it.

Jammin' Jacob:

See?

Jammin' Jacob:

You get that?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yep.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yeah.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

He can stay longer in an hour than most people can do in a week.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, there's that one there.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

Still thinking about it.

Jammin' Jacob:

I can tell you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Still thinking about it longer.

Jammin' Jacob:

In and out.

Jammin' Jacob:

He can.

Jammin' Jacob:

Like he's there.

Jammin' Jacob:

His hours.

Jammin' Jacob:

Like somebody being with somebody for a week.

Jammin' Jacob:

He's so, you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

You're not getting that, are you?

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, we'll just move on.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thank you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Some cause happiness wherever they go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Others, whenever they go, get that one season, because whenever they leave.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, he didn't like that either.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's a mercy.

Jammin' Jacob:

1.

Jammin' Jacob:

What's the best way to keep fish from smelling cut off their nose?

Jammin' Jacob:

3.

Jammin' Jacob:

Come on.

Jammin' Jacob:

Last one.

Jammin' Jacob:

What is more blessed to give than receive?

Jammin' Jacob:

In other words, what's more blessed to give than receive?

Jammin' Jacob:

What?

Jammin' Jacob:

Advice?

Jammin' Jacob:

You serious?

Jammin' Jacob:

Clark?

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

There you go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yeah, we don't care.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here you go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Who is the only woman mentioned by name with the apostles in the upper room waiting for the promise of the Holy Spirit?

Jammin' Jacob:

Acts 1:14.

Jammin' Jacob:

In the meantime, we're going back to our text, and this is what I want you to get.

Jammin' Jacob:

We want to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did he take hold of you for salvation?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yes.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did he take hold of you so you could fellowship with him forever?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yes.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did he take hold of you so that you can enjoy eternity and that.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's a deep part of the power of your hope that's referenced in the New Testament.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yes.

Jammin' Jacob:

But he also has taken hold of you personally because there is something he has or sees in you or has placed in you that is beneficial for others.

Jammin' Jacob:

The problem that Christians have, the malady that Christians have, is that we think you get to a point, and then you're like, okay, well, I've pretty much done everything that I think I'm supposed to do or can do in the kingdom.

Jammin' Jacob:

So here's the problem.

Jammin' Jacob:

The problem is the Lord doesn't like the idea of us stopping.

Jammin' Jacob:

Exodus 14, 10, 15.

Jammin' Jacob:

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians marching after them.

Jammin' Jacob:

So I do want to set the stage.

Jammin' Jacob:

Israel leaves, right?

Jammin' Jacob:

Everything's fine.

Jammin' Jacob:

The Egyptians kicked them out.

Jammin' Jacob:

But then Pharaoh's like, what do we do?

Jammin' Jacob:

We just lost all our slaves.

Jammin' Jacob:

They sent the army after them.

Jammin' Jacob:

Israel is there.

Jammin' Jacob:

They're looking, and they can see the hills, they can see the mountains.

Jammin' Jacob:

They can see coming.

Jammin' Jacob:

An army is coming against them.

Jammin' Jacob:

So when it says Pharaoh approached, Israel looked up, and there were the Egyptians marching after them.

Jammin' Jacob:

There, they're coming.

Jammin' Jacob:

They're coming, people.

Jammin' Jacob:

They were terrified and cried out to the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

They said to Moses, was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die?

Jammin' Jacob:

What have you done by bringing us out of Egypt?

Jammin' Jacob:

Verse 12.

Jammin' Jacob:

Didn't we say to you in Egypt, let us alone.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let us serve the Egyptians.

Jammin' Jacob:

It would be better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert.

Jammin' Jacob:

Moses answered the people, do not be afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

Stand firm, and you will see the deliverance of the Lord that he will bring you today.

Jammin' Jacob:

The Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.

Jammin' Jacob:

The Lord will fight for you.

Jammin' Jacob:

You only need to be still.

Jammin' Jacob:

Then the Lord said to Moses, why are you crying out?

Jammin' Jacob:

Tell the Israelites to move on.

Jammin' Jacob:

And you're thinking, wait a minute.

Jammin' Jacob:

What does that got to do with anything?

Jammin' Jacob:

It has a lot to do with things.

Jammin' Jacob:

Because what happens is we get to a point where either through fear or something else, we are like, well, we're far enough.

Jammin' Jacob:

We've gone far enough.

Jammin' Jacob:

No, you haven't.

Jammin' Jacob:

Keep going.

Jammin' Jacob:

But you understand, Dave, for me to keep going, there's this big body of water.

Jammin' Jacob:

Keep going.

Jammin' Jacob:

This idea of mediocrity is not acceptable.

Jammin' Jacob:

That comes from the Latin word, from climbing up a hill.

Jammin' Jacob:

And halfway up a hill, there's a stopping point, and the person climbing up the hill stops and doesn't climb any farther.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's where mediocrity comes from.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's where the word comes from.

Jammin' Jacob:

Going up half a hill.

Jammin' Jacob:

And we can't be like that.

Jammin' Jacob:

We can't be Christians who are like, that's enough.

Jammin' Jacob:

You know who will tell you it's enough?

Jammin' Jacob:

God will tell you it's enough.

Jammin' Jacob:

God will let you know when it's enough.

Jammin' Jacob:

Until then, you keep going forward.

Jammin' Jacob:

But, Dave, there's obstacles.

Jammin' Jacob:

I can't do this.

Jammin' Jacob:

I have to get a high education to be a minister.

Jammin' Jacob:

Really, I'll have to tell that to John and to Peter and to James and to Andrew, who Were fishermen.

Jammin' Jacob:

They were common laborers.

Jammin' Jacob:

That was a very skilled use of their labor, but they were laborers, not academics.

Jammin' Jacob:

Well, you don't understand.

Jammin' Jacob:

I can't speak.

Jammin' Jacob:

Well, gee, doesn't that sound a lot like Moses?

Jammin' Jacob:

Well, I'm afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

I understand you're afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's why God says, Moses said, don't be afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

Make the decision not to be afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

You think you're done.

Jammin' Jacob:

You're done when God says you're done.

Jammin' Jacob:

But, Dave, I go to work, I do this.

Jammin' Jacob:

I do this.

Jammin' Jacob:

You are a walking billboard for the Kingdom of God.

Jammin' Jacob:

Everywhere you go, you are an ambassador.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't stop being an ambassador because you go to the store.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't stop being an ambassador because you meet with tea, with somebody you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

You never stop being an ambassador.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't.

Jammin' Jacob:

Well, I'm going to take my ambassador hat off me.

Jammin' Jacob:

No, we never stop.

Jammin' Jacob:

We don't stop.

Jammin' Jacob:

But it's mighty water.

Jammin' Jacob:

We can't get in.

Jammin' Jacob:

If we just stayed where we were, everything would be comfy.

Jammin' Jacob:

You mean like Peter?

Jammin' Jacob:

If he had stayed in the boat because he didn't have the willingness to take one leg and put it over the side.

Jammin' Jacob:

But I can't do this.

Jammin' Jacob:

Ministry says way past me.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yep, it sure is.

Jammin' Jacob:

Isn't it great that you can't do it?

Jammin' Jacob:

Apart from a partnership with God and through Christ, you can do anything.

Jammin' Jacob:

What's the point of me bringing this up?

Jammin' Jacob:

Stop limiting yourself.

Jammin' Jacob:

Stop boxing yourself in.

Jammin' Jacob:

Stop boxing God in.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't have to have this phenomenal international ministry to be ministering in the Kingdom of God.

Jammin' Jacob:

In fact, if everybody had an international ministry that reached billions of people, I mean, just think about how silly that is.

Jammin' Jacob:

You have a group that you connect with in some capacity, minister within that group, present your same thing we say.

Jammin' Jacob:

Our DNA.

Jammin' Jacob:

Always being ready, always being aware.

Jammin' Jacob:

You gotta take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of you.

Jammin' Jacob:

When he's done with you, he'll pull you up.

Jammin' Jacob:

But until he pulls you up, he's not done.

Jammin' Jacob:

And there's more to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

You think, well, how do you know there's more to do?

Jammin' Jacob:

Because he's not back yet.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's how we know.

Jammin' Jacob:

And so there's things we gotta, like get a hand on.

Jammin' Jacob:

One of the things.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to say this.

Jammin' Jacob:

I really do want to say this.

Jammin' Jacob:

And I don't want you to get offended at this.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just want you to listen to what I'm going to say because it's superbly important.

Jammin' Jacob:

Many of you out there, I'm Too old.

Jammin' Jacob:

I can't do anything.

Jammin' Jacob:

Exodus 7:7.

Jammin' Jacob:

Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83.

Jammin' Jacob:

When they spoke to Pharaoh, they didn't even get into ministry to the last third of their lives.

Jammin' Jacob:

Moses went early when he was 40.

Jammin' Jacob:

Somebody died, maybe premature ministry for him.

Jammin' Jacob:

Do you see what I'm saying?

Jammin' Jacob:

You're not too old.

Jammin' Jacob:

You have to find out that for which Jesus Christ took hold of you.

Jammin' Jacob:

So I want you to stop with the excuses, stop with mediocrity, stop with this whole thing.

Jammin' Jacob:

When we come back, we're going to talk about the reality.

Jammin' Jacob:

This is a journey of faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

And faith is something we walk with that is not the same as sight.

Jammin' Jacob:

Right?

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

In answer to the trivia question, who was the only woman mentioned by name with the apostles in the upper room waiting for the promise of the Holy Spirit?

Jammin' Jacob:

The answer is Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Jammin' Jacob:

That too.

Jammin' Jacob:

We'll take a short break and then come back.

Jammin' Jacob:

You're listening to the David Spoon experience right here on KAM 770, the true state here in Texas.

Jammin' Jacob:

Short break.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't go anywhere.

Jammin' Jacob:

The David Spoon experience.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm not going to do an over overriding teaching that will make the Baptist or the Church of Christ proud.

Jammin' Jacob:

So neither one of you groups can be all excited about this because that's not the purpose of this.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here's where we're picking it up.

Jammin' Jacob:

As verse 34 ends Eunuch, the eunuch asks Philip, what was Isaiah talking about himself or someone else?

Jammin' Jacob:

Verse 35 from Acts chapter nine or chapter eight, says Philip, says Philip began with the same scripture and then began to tell him about the good news about Jesus.

Jammin' Jacob:

As they rode along, they came to some water and the eunuch said, look, there is some water.

Jammin' Jacob:

Why can't I be baptized?

Jammin' Jacob:

So let's just stop right there.

Jammin' Jacob:

When Philip was explaining the gospel to the eunuch, he had to include the understandings or the teachings of baptism or the eunuch never would have said, why can't I be baptized?

Jammin' Jacob:

He never would have said it never would have come up unless Philip had brought that information to light in multiple translations.

Jammin' Jacob:

It then says, you can.

Jammin' Jacob:

Philip answered, if you believe with all your heart.

Jammin' Jacob:

And the eunuch replied, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Jammin' Jacob:

This is often known as believer's baptism.

Jammin' Jacob:

Some texts will show this in the footnote.

Jammin' Jacob:

I disagree that it should be reduced to the footnote.

Jammin' Jacob:

I think it's a part of the text.

Jammin' Jacob:

I would not fellowship with you over that.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just think it is a part of the text because he asks a very pointed question.

Jammin' Jacob:

And in this exchange, Philip is giving a very pointed answer.

Jammin' Jacob:

So he's like, well, there's some water.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to be baptized.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to respond to the gospel.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to say yes.

Jammin' Jacob:

And Philip responds by saying, you can, you can get baptized.

Jammin' Jacob:

As long as you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, you can be baptized.

Jammin' Jacob:

Now, why that's important is because this is the difference between many different groups about who can be baptized.

Jammin' Jacob:

Some people think, well, a child can be baptized, yeah, but a child can't believe in Jesus.

Jammin' Jacob:

So then how can a child be baptized?

Jammin' Jacob:

That's the argument.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, those, again, those are not fellowship issues.

Jammin' Jacob:

Those are disagreements.

Jammin' Jacob:

You know, we spent.

Jammin' Jacob:

I spent 10 minutes talking about understanding who's got the spirit of God and who doesn't have the spirit of God.

Jammin' Jacob:

When you have a difference of application of scripture, that person's not an evil person.

Jammin' Jacob:

They're not some kind of demonic whatever.

Jammin' Jacob:

They see something different than you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay?

Jammin' Jacob:

They're genuinely in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jammin' Jacob:

The blood of Jesus Christ is what redeems us.

Jammin' Jacob:

They are acknowledging their heavenly father, praying, our Father, who art thou in heaven.

Jammin' Jacob:

They drink of the same holy Spirit.

Jammin' Jacob:

They come to a different conclusion.

Jammin' Jacob:

Yeah.

Jammin' Jacob:

What else is new?

Jammin' Jacob:

Does everybody think McDonald's is the best fast food?

Jammin' Jacob:

Are you kidding?

Jammin' Jacob:

There's only a few people.

Jammin' Jacob:

You're here when I need you the most.

Jammin' Jacob:

When I need you the most.

Jammin' Jacob:

I never need to.

Jammin' Jacob:

Oh.

Jammin' Jacob:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's K double amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Jammin' Jacob:

And I have a very challenging, very challenging trivia question.

Jammin' Jacob:

True or false?

Jammin' Jacob:

Enoch is the first city mentioned in the bible.

Jammin' Jacob:

Genesis, chapter 4, verse 17.

Jammin' Jacob:

Enoch is the first city mentioned in the bible.

Jammin' Jacob:

Genesis, chapter 4, verse 17.

Jammin' Jacob:

Before you answer, you probably want to look it up.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's all I'm going to say.

Jammin' Jacob:

If you think you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

972, 445.

Jammin' Jacob:

The great thing about true and false is if you're wrong, it's easy to get to the right.

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

-:

Jammin' Jacob:

Or you can send an email.

Jammin' Jacob:

David, question.

Jammin' Jacob:

The first study city mentioned in the Bible, enoch, Genesis, chapter 4, verse 17.

Jammin' Jacob:

True or false?

Jammin' Jacob:

Wow.

Jammin' Jacob:

In the meantime, I'm gonna send you up to the website.

Jammin' Jacob:

What's down?

Jammin' Jacob:

Website?

Jammin' Jacob:

There's stuff on there.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's stuff on the website.

Jammin' Jacob:

Isn't that brilliant?

Jammin' Jacob:

There's stuff.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, first of all, there are.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just wanna point this out.

Jammin' Jacob:

There are new videos up there.

Jammin' Jacob:

New videos.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's links up there.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's audios.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's all this stuff.

Jammin' Jacob:

And there's a place to give and.

Jammin' Jacob:

Wow, I'll make this really nice for you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Giving.

Jammin' Jacob:

Very helpful.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay, cool.

Jammin' Jacob:

Give if you can give.

Jammin' Jacob:

Check it out on the website.

Jammin' Jacob:

He must increase.org prayer request.

Jammin' Jacob:

Hemost praise report.

Jammin' Jacob:

He must increase.org looking to give to this ministry.

Jammin' Jacob:

He must increase.org confused by what's happening right now.

Jammin' Jacob:

He must increase.org he must increase.org that's right.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's what some people are thinking in regards to that trivia question.

Jammin' Jacob:

That trivia question.

Jammin' Jacob:

First city mentioned in the Bible.

Jammin' Jacob:

Is Enoch.

Jammin' Jacob:

The first city mentioned in the Bible, is that true or false?

Jammin' Jacob:

Genesis 4:17.

Jammin' Jacob:

Eric comes up with a pow, pow on that one.

Jammin' Jacob:

Very nice.

Jammin' Jacob:

We'll give you that chance to figure that out.

Jammin' Jacob:

I do want to remind people to be praying for one another.

Jammin' Jacob:

I think that's an important part of carrying one another's burdens and so fulfilling the law of Christ.

Jammin' Jacob:

According to Galatians 6.

Jammin' Jacob:

Two, Paul said, join me in my struggle by praying for me.

Jammin' Jacob:

Romans:

Jammin' Jacob:

And these are all connected.

Jammin' Jacob:

Jesus said, a new commandment, I give you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Love one another as I have loved you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Those are all working together.

Jammin' Jacob:

Now.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to go back to this and I want to challenge you.

Jammin' Jacob:

And I know that some people are hearing this message going, dave, I'm too old.

Jammin' Jacob:

And it's like, no, you're not.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can't tell me you're too old to pray.

Jammin' Jacob:

And you say, well, I do pray.

Jammin' Jacob:

I pray, you know, do my devotions.

Jammin' Jacob:

You know what?

Jammin' Jacob:

Start praying for different ministries at a separated time from your devotions as part of your ministry.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thinking.

Jammin' Jacob:

Really?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yeah.

Jammin' Jacob:

Send out one encouraging email a day.

Jammin' Jacob:

Send out one encouraging text, make one encouraging call.

Jammin' Jacob:

All of those are forms of ministry.

Jammin' Jacob:

So you can't say to your children, if you're too old to do it, then if you're not physically able to do it, that's different.

Jammin' Jacob:

And you can still pray.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can't tell.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can't pray.

Jammin' Jacob:

Nobody can stop you from praying.

Jammin' Jacob:

And there are a myriad of ministries and people and countries and governments and different situations that need prayer.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can spend a good 10 minutes praying every day just for the Largest growing segment of Christians in the world, which is in Iran.

Jammin' Jacob:

You spend just five minutes a day praying for that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Or if they stand in faith, they get executed.

Jammin' Jacob:

You could be praying for other Christians.

Jammin' Jacob:

There you go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Whole ministry.

Jammin' Jacob:

So I'm just separating you from the.

Jammin' Jacob:

I can't.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can too.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't be satisfied with the I've done enough.

Jammin' Jacob:

God will tell you when you've done enough.

Jammin' Jacob:

Not you.

Jammin' Jacob:

He'll.

Jammin' Jacob:

He'll ring your bell, ding, ding, ding.

Jammin' Jacob:

And when he does, he does.

Jammin' Jacob:

But until then, you know, even Jesus after he resurrected.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just want to point this out.

Jammin' Jacob:

He said, the right hand of the Father, still in ministry.

Jammin' Jacob:

Right, okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just pointing that out.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

Somebody is ready to answer the trivia question.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's send them on through.

Jammin' Jacob:

Knock, knock.

Jammin' Jacob:

This is David.

Jammin' Jacob:

Who am I talking to?

Jammin' Jacob:

Hello, David.

Jammin' Jacob:

This is Alan.

Jammin' Jacob:

Hello, Alan.

Jammin' Jacob:

How are you, bro?

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm doing good.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm doing good.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm glad to hear you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Blessed in the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

Amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

Always good to hear.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's great to hear that.

Jammin' Jacob:

This is a really.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's a fascinating question.

Jammin' Jacob:

I think probably surprising many more people than they might be aware.

Jammin' Jacob:

True or false?

Jammin' Jacob:

The first city mentioned in the Bible is Enoch.

Jammin' Jacob:

Genesis 4, 17.

Jammin' Jacob:

I believe that's true.

Jammin' Jacob:

You are correct, sir.

Jammin' Jacob:

It is true.

Jammin' Jacob:

That is right.

Jammin' Jacob:

Enoch was born in Enoch.

Jammin' Jacob:

I mean, it's like, you don't think of those things because you don't think about the first city because you know what I'm saying, you don't think of it in those terms.

Jammin' Jacob:

But it is kind of an interesting fact.

Jammin' Jacob:

And it's like, wow, that's just bizarre.

Jammin' Jacob:

Absolutely bizarre.

Jammin' Jacob:

And for you, brother, I want to pray over you.

Jammin' Jacob:

So tell me how you're doing and how we can pray over you to be a blessing.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm doing good.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm just praying for.

Jammin' Jacob:

To increase my faith today.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just need a little more faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

I love it.

Jammin' Jacob:

I love it.

Jammin' Jacob:

I love it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let me pray for you exactly that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yes, sir.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right, let's do it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Father, come before you and lift up Allen to you.

Jammin' Jacob:

In the name of Jesus.

Jammin' Jacob:

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Jammin' Jacob:

Alan, your son, asking for more faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

You love it, Lord, pour it into him.

Jammin' Jacob:

Pour into him a seed of a new level of faith, just a new level to absolutely believe that you, as the Lord God Almighty, can do anything and will do.

Jammin' Jacob:

And you're just waiting for him to step up to you and bring him up to you with that confidence, that absolute ferociousness, conviction of confidence in your faithfulness that the answer is yes and amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

And he will see that manifested.

Jammin' Jacob:

It'll be to your glory.

Jammin' Jacob:

And he'll just be blessed to participate.

Jammin' Jacob:

We pray that in Jesus name, Amen and Amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

Amen and amen.

Jammin' Jacob:

David, thank you very much.

Jammin' Jacob:

You are welcome.

Jammin' Jacob:

Have a blessed day.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right, you too.

Jammin' Jacob:

God bless you, brother.

Jammin' Jacob:

God bless you, brother.

Jammin' Jacob:

Thank you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Bye bye.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

Phenomenal job.

Jammin' Jacob:

We have more to teach on.

Jammin' Jacob:

Although I gotta see.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's see.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did I do this?

Jammin' Jacob:

Oh, no, I didn't do this.

Jammin' Jacob:

We.

Jammin' Jacob:

I do have to do the history.

Jammin' Jacob:

History.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here comes history here.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let fake him look past.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let fake him look past.

Jammin' Jacob:

The reason I gotta bring it up is because today is sandwich day.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just don't know.

Jammin' Jacob:

You gotta be kidding me.

Jammin' Jacob:

That could be any sandwich anywhere, right?

Jammin' Jacob:

It's like, yes, any sandwich.

Jammin' Jacob:

I mean, come on.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's like pizza day.

Jammin' Jacob:

Like, okay, pizza, sandwich, ice cream.

Jammin' Jacob:

Uh huh.

Jammin' Jacob:

Got it.

Jammin' Jacob:

All those things.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't talk to me about Brussels sprouts.

Jammin' Jacob:

I know Aunt Deb likes Brussels sprouts.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's not the point.

Jammin' Jacob:

The point is this.

Jammin' Jacob:

Sandwich day.

Jammin' Jacob:

Pick a sandwich.

Jammin' Jacob:

I mean, come on.

Jammin' Jacob:

What's your favorite sandwich?

Jammin' Jacob:

Just your absolute.

Jammin' Jacob:

I can tell you right now, I don't have to blink.

Jammin' Jacob:

Corned beef, that's tough.

Jammin' Jacob:

I gotta think about that.

Jammin' Jacob:

My favorite sandwich.

Jammin' Jacob:

I gotta think about that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Kick that around and let us know before we exit the show.

Jammin' Jacob:

Today is also Sadie Hawkins Day.

Jammin' Jacob:

people who understand between:

Jammin' Jacob:

That's when the girl picks the guy kind of thing.

Jammin' Jacob:

So came actually out of Little Abner, the Elk Tap comic strip, way, way back in the day.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just for those that don't know.

Jammin' Jacob:

Additionally,:

Jammin' Jacob:

This is the first helicopter flight.

Jammin' Jacob:

The anniversary of that in:

Jammin' Jacob:

Paul Cornu, French bicycle maker Paul Cornu, first manned helicopter free flight.

Jammin' Jacob:

He got about one foot above the air for 20 seconds.

Jammin' Jacob:

Doesn't seem like much, but you know, hey.

Jammin' Jacob:

And then finally I thought this was really kind of interesting.

Jammin' Jacob:

World Wide Web is written in:

Jammin' Jacob:

Is that weird or what?

Jammin' Jacob:

It's just like, so 34 years ago was the first page on the World Wide Web.

Jammin' Jacob:

People under, you know, 35 are going, what?

Jammin' Jacob:

What?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yeah.

Jammin' Jacob:

There always was a sky though.

Jammin' Jacob:

At one point.

Jammin' Jacob:

There always was a sky.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did you figure out your sandwich?

Jammin' Jacob:

Yes.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm going to go with the Cheesesteak sandwich.

Jammin' Jacob:

Oh, what an excellent choice.

Jammin' Jacob:

Excellent.

Jammin' Jacob:

Bravo.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here, hand clap, golf clap.

Jammin' Jacob:

There you go.

Jammin' Jacob:

Good job.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right, let's get into the rest of this.

Jammin' Jacob:

So this is what I'm trying to get at.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm just trying to drive home a very particular point.

Jammin' Jacob:

Okay.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right, here's the point.

Jammin' Jacob:

Ready?

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

LL that might be true, but I'm not saying it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Here's the point.

Jammin' Jacob:

God has put something in you.

Jammin' Jacob:

He didn't put it in you by accident.

Jammin' Jacob:

What happens is we get afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

We all know the story on Matthew 14.

Jammin' Jacob:

Jesus said, Take courage to tie.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't be afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just talked about this the other day, Lord, if a Jew, Peter said, tell me to come on the water.

Jammin' Jacob:

Jesus says, come.

Jammin' Jacob:

Jesus never says, don't do it.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's always like, get out of the boat.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's always like, try.

Jammin' Jacob:

Give it an opportunity.

Jammin' Jacob:

Try.

Jammin' Jacob:

I mean, even Jonathan told his assistant, he said, it doesn't matter if the Lord saves by many or by few.

Jammin' Jacob:

Let's give it a shot.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just give it a shot.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's like, I know that's crazy, but you would be amazed that that has a big part to do with this radio ministry I'm in right now.

Jammin' Jacob:

I had to give it a shot at 50 years old, never really having done it the way that we do it now, and just gave it a shot.

Jammin' Jacob:

I mean, there is that truth to it and that the Lord had something else in mind.

Jammin' Jacob:

And then it turns out to be something that's deep inside me.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's the part I want to get into.

Jammin' Jacob:

It sounds bizarre.

Jammin' Jacob:

And I want to be careful because I don't like the new age stuff, as you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

And I'm not a name it and claim it guy.

Jammin' Jacob:

As you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm a Bible believe it Bible, say it Bible function it guy.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's just not the name it and claim it process.

Jammin' Jacob:

But in Philippians 2:13, it's very clear.

Jammin' Jacob:

It says, for God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his purpose.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just this one verse, and I've taught about it many times, and it's very, very powerful.

Jammin' Jacob:

And it really does require you and alone time with God.

Jammin' Jacob:

Listen to the passage.

Jammin' Jacob:

I'm going to define these things for.

Jammin' Jacob:

It is God who works in you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Who's God working in you to will and to act.

Jammin' Jacob:

What does that mean?

Jammin' Jacob:

God works in you to will.

Jammin' Jacob:

To will means to desire that you desire it.

Jammin' Jacob:

You will it, you want it.

Jammin' Jacob:

And to act means to perform or to do it.

Jammin' Jacob:

So God works in you to want it and to do it in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Jammin' Jacob:

Which means God put in you something he wants you to do that you want to do, and you want to do it because God put it in you.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't know that all the time.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's just that God put it in you.

Jammin' Jacob:

I really want to.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to teach more, I want to encourage more.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to do this more.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to be whatever it might be.

Jammin' Jacob:

It could be anything.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to be more involved in fellowship or in church or.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to be more of a help here or more of a help in this way.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to find other ways to help whatever it is.

Jammin' Jacob:

What I'm trying to tell you is that you didn't even put that inside of you.

Jammin' Jacob:

God put it inside of you.

Jammin' Jacob:

See, I have this weird theory.

Jammin' Jacob:

I know it's.

Jammin' Jacob:

I got to be careful here, but I think God puts in all of the believers.

Jammin' Jacob:

I think God puts a.

Jammin' Jacob:

And that seed has to do with what we want.

Jammin' Jacob:

And what I think we assume is that you have to do this in order to get that seed germinated.

Jammin' Jacob:

And it's like, that's so not true.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did you know I didn't have a master's degree before I did radio?

Jammin' Jacob:

Did you know I didn't have a doctorate before I did radio?

Jammin' Jacob:

In fact, I got my master's and doctorate degree here in Texas.

Jammin' Jacob:

Did you know when I started radio, I didn't have a B.A.

Jammin' Jacob:

oh, you didn't know that, huh?

Jammin' Jacob:

Got my B.A.

Jammin' Jacob:

when I was in San Diego.

Jammin' Jacob:

I got my B.A.

Jammin' Jacob:

my master's and my doctorate after I turned 50.

Jammin' Jacob:

Why?

Jammin' Jacob:

That's how God set it up.

Jammin' Jacob:

I didn't.

Jammin' Jacob:

I don't.

Jammin' Jacob:

I don't know.

Jammin' Jacob:

You too old.

Jammin' Jacob:

I have heard more than once, even from my own relatives, how one of my relatives, very close friend, decided at 58, she wanted to be a lawyer.

Jammin' Jacob:

She became a lawyer, and she was a lawyer for 10, 12, 14 years.

Jammin' Jacob:

Loved it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Was her favorite thing to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't know.

Jammin' Jacob:

God puts it in you for a reason.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's for his glory.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's not for your glory.

Jammin' Jacob:

But it's amazing how God puts inside of you this element that you want to do something and he wants you to do it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Now, that's a partnership with God.

Jammin' Jacob:

You know, maybe it is leading a Bible study or having a home group or being a part of a ministry you've never tried.

Jammin' Jacob:

Maybe you've always thought, I wanted to try this, or I want to do this, or I always thought about Doing this.

Jammin' Jacob:

Maybe it's time for that moment where you just talk to the Lord and say, there's something I can do.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to try and do it.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to connect to it.

Jammin' Jacob:

Now, you don't do it in your own power.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't make it happen in spite of you.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't say, that's not.

Jammin' Jacob:

You could do this in partnership with God.

Jammin' Jacob:

And what I'm trying to say is for many people, it's like the children of Israel at the waters.

Jammin' Jacob:

We're going to die out here.

Jammin' Jacob:

We're not going forward.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's a big body of water in front of me.

Jammin' Jacob:

Hey, God can make a way through the water.

Jammin' Jacob:

God can help you walk on top of the water.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's always funny how water is involved.

Jammin' Jacob:

God is not done.

Jammin' Jacob:

You'll know when he's done.

Jammin' Jacob:

There won't be any question in your mind or heart that do to do that comes from the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

Do, do, do.

Jammin' Jacob:

You'll know, but you haven't heard it yet.

Jammin' Jacob:

And so my encouragement is for you to really pursue that.

Jammin' Jacob:

Now, I do have the practical advice.

Jammin' Jacob:

I want to be very careful here because I want to stay away from bizarreness here.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just want to.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's two questions that you can ask and then we're going to drop it on the Proverbs 3 text.

Jammin' Jacob:

But if God gave you a do over, what would you do?

Jammin' Jacob:

Now that's a great question because it simply asks you, if you could just do the whole thing over where you're at right now, what would you do?

Jammin' Jacob:

And then this, I think is a great follow up question.

Jammin' Jacob:

And if you were going to do a do over, what would you do if money were no object, like if money wasn't the stopper?

Jammin' Jacob:

And the reason that I bring it up is because you can be in partnership with God doing the very thing God put in your heart to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

But you can only do it if you keep going forward in the journey.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can't stop.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can't shut her down.

Jammin' Jacob:

You can't do that by faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Jammin' Jacob:

Abraham went, not knowing, but he went in faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

I was like, yes, but I have to have all my ducks in a row.

Jammin' Jacob:

I have to have everything ordered.

Jammin' Jacob:

I wonder if that's the guy that was in the Garden of Gerasenes when Jesus cast the spirit, the legion out of him.

Jammin' Jacob:

I wonder if that guy thought, I have to have all my ducks in order before I go tell people.

Jammin' Jacob:

Because Jesus said, go tell.

Jammin' Jacob:

Just go tell them, you'll see.

Jammin' Jacob:

By faith, Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, obeyed and went.

Jammin' Jacob:

Even though he did not know where he was going, he didn't have a clue.

Jammin' Jacob:

By faith, he made his home in the promised land.

Jammin' Jacob:

Like a stranger in a foreign country.

Jammin' Jacob:

He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.

Jammin' Jacob:

He was looking forward to the city with foundation, whose architect and builder is God.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't always know where it's going to go.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't always know how it's going to break down.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't always know how that water is going to seem when you step out of the boat.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't always know how you're going to get through the water.

Jammin' Jacob:

You don't always know that.

Jammin' Jacob:

But you step in faith, and when the priest's feet hit the water, it split so that the nation could walk across.

Jammin' Jacob:

Sometimes the Lord is just waiting for you and I to move forward.

Jammin' Jacob:

Get out of our little box.

Jammin' Jacob:

Proverbs 3, 5, 6.

Jammin' Jacob:

We live by this, don't we?

Jammin' Jacob:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and all your ways.

Jammin' Jacob:

Submit to him.

Jammin' Jacob:

He'll make your paths straight.

Jammin' Jacob:

Doesn't that mean that our understanding is not supposed to be the guiding light, but that we're supposed to trust Him?

Jammin' Jacob:

We're not supposed to lean on our own thought process.

Jammin' Jacob:

In fact, we're supposed to trust him with all of our heart, which has to do with the emotions.

Jammin' Jacob:

Because you know what, it feels very fearful.

Jammin' Jacob:

Hey, here's a message.

Jammin' Jacob:

Don't be afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

That's what we're told.

Jammin' Jacob:

In fact, that's what Moses told Israel.

Jammin' Jacob:

Do not be afraid.

Jammin' Jacob:

Stand firm.

Jammin' Jacob:

You're going to see the hand of the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

All I'm trying to do is encourage you to present yourself to the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

If the Lord doesn't want to do anything, then he doesn't want to do anything.

Jammin' Jacob:

I would find that unique.

Jammin' Jacob:

But that doesn't mean you know I'm right.

Jammin' Jacob:

Not every single individual, but there are many of you that have this deep desire to do more.

Jammin' Jacob:

And the fact that you have that tells you there's more to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

The fact that that desire, that's part of what I'm talking about.

Jammin' Jacob:

It's that Philippians 2:13.

Jammin' Jacob:

The fact that you want to do more, that's the seed in you that is pushing for the want.

Jammin' Jacob:

And now you have to act on it.

Jammin' Jacob:

You got to do it in faith.

Jammin' Jacob:

You won't do it perfectly.

Jammin' Jacob:

You should have people praying for you.

Jammin' Jacob:

But you should make yourself available and tell the Lord, you know what?

Jammin' Jacob:

If you do want me to go forward in something, I want to be ready.

Jammin' Jacob:

And what do you got to say to be ready?

Jammin' Jacob:

Here am I, Lord, here am I.

Jammin' Jacob:

Presenting yourself before the Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

You know, that's how new ministries get started all the time.

Jammin' Jacob:

Maybe you'll just be a part of a group that prays for a new ministry.

Jammin' Jacob:

I don't know.

Jammin' Jacob:

I just know that God's not on the throne, going, well, I'm not doing anything else.

Jammin' Jacob:

The Lord.

Jammin' Jacob:

Revelation 21:5, Behold, I make all things new.

Jammin' Jacob:

He's not done.

Jammin' Jacob:

He'll let you know.

Jammin' Jacob:

He didn't let you know yet.

Jammin' Jacob:

You want to know why you're listening to this radio show?

Jammin' Jacob:

I can absolutely guarantee it.

Jammin' Jacob:

You get that?

Jammin' Jacob:

Isn't that cool?

Jammin' Jacob:

Forward in the kingdom of God.

Jammin' Jacob:

There's more to do.

Jammin' Jacob:

Spend time with the Lord and find out what he put inside you.

Jammin' Jacob:

The fact that you know in your heart there's more you want to do is the evidence.

Jammin' Jacob:

Get it now.

Jammin' Jacob:

Come on.

Jammin' Jacob:

You got to admit that's cool.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right, Cheesesteak.

Jammin' Jacob:

Very good call.

Jammin' Jacob:

Very good call, Jacob.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right.

Jammin' Jacob:

All right, folks.

Jammin' Jacob:

You have been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

Jammin' Jacob:

22 and a half hour break.

Jammin' Jacob:

Then we'll come back.

Jammin' Jacob:

More insanity with spinati.

Profile picture for David Spoon

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
