And so if there's something we can pray for you about, if you've got something you're struggling with, if you've got a situation involving you, your family, your friends, your job, your existence, your life, let's pray and ask the kingdom of God to manifest his power into our lives because it works better than the talking heads that come up with nothing and no wisdom whatsoever.

Here's the thing.

There are times where it's hard for every one of us.

That is absolutely true.

Every day that we go through, there's this war.

But every day that we go through this war, there's this commander who's in charge of all things and nothing escapes his notice.

Let me repeat that so that you do not forget that nothing escapes the notice of God.

Nothing that happens in your life.

Nothing is so insignificant that he is unaware.

Nothing, in fact, just so we can be on the same page theologically.

To be omniscient means to know everything.

And so he is, the Lord God Almighty is omniscient.

He knows everything, everything that's going on with you and I.

And every time we trip up, we get caught up in these little things that are thrown at our feet, these little darts, these little arrows, these things that get thrown at us.

We are supposed to put on the shield of faith.

And when I teach this, sometimes when I'm in a church, I try to use this illustration.

I think it's one of the coolest things in the world.

The devil sits there and shoots flaming arrows at you.

And do you know that the shield of faith is water in that warfare?

So that when that fiery arrow comes in, it gets extinguished before it gets to you?

Because the shield of faith has a water component.

Think about that.

That arrow comes in, out, gone, flame is gone.

I got nothing, I got no worries on that.

That just, just didn't even touch me.

And that's how the power of faith operates.

I want you to think sometimes, think of yourself having a shield, and it's like a water shield, and the enemy shoots a dart at you and you hold up your faith to cover yourself and it quenches the dart of the enemy and you just go, ha.

That's the power, that's the blessing, that's the grace.

I mean, you have, you have such protections, such commitment and faithfulness.

Jesus has never failed us.

And when all this stuff is going on, you can see all this stuff that's going on, it's crazy.

You can see the dividing lines in this world is getting more and more intense.

Something I mentioned a couple years ago.

It's getting more and more divisional, more and more sheep and goat.

Not hard to figure out, right?

But your king, your king is your dad, and he's got you.

And there is nothing that we go through, no encounter ever, that has slipped by him.

Oh, I acheved for people that hurt just like you do.

God loves us more, God connects to us greater.

Nothing in your life, nothing, not a feeling, not a bill, not a relationship, is greater than this commitment that God has given you and I to spend eternity with us.

You like to see them on thanksgiving and that's about it.

He wants to have our relationship.

This is one of the first verses in my christian faith that I learned, which is, you know, you don't think about it, but when I first became a Christian, people would share this verse with me.

I didn't know why.

I was going to find out why, because God was going to set me free from a lot of drug use.

But I didn't know then what was going on.

I was like, oh, I keep hearing this verse.

Galatians five one, the freedom for freedom.

Christ has set us free.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:27:33

Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

So now in our society, you say the word slavery, and people start going, and then everybody starts freaking out.

You know what?

We're never going to change what the gospel is.

And the gospel is the reality truth.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:27:53

We're not going to alter it for culture.

We're not going to say it differently so people aren't offended.

Here's the bottom line.

Every one of us, every one of us before Jesus Christ was in bondage to sin, every one of us, now that we are in Jesus Christ, we are free from the penalty of that sin.

And the Lord is working in us the process to overcome that sin.

Practically.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:28:32

We've talked about it multiple times.

You understand salvation from a little bit of a smart, not smart, multiple scripture point of view.

Scriptures talk about salvation being past tense.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:28:45

Scripture talks about salvation being present tense, and scripture talks about salvation being future tense.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:28:52

The only way that could happen is if.

Salvation is past tense, present tense, and future tense.

So the only way it can happen is because that's what it says.

And so in that, we need to understand that from the past point of view, we are free from the penalty of sin.

Yay.

Currently, we're going through what is called sanctification, where we're being delivered.

We're delivered from the power of sin.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:29:15

And we're learning in our own lives we don't have to live for sin.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:29:18

And then eventually, when we're with the Lord forever and ever, we will be free from the presence of sin, and there won't be any evil, any bad, any yucky.

Okay, cool.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:29:27

In the meantime, while the justification, while the penalty for sin is done, while the freedom is there, the sanctification process is the one where he makes you look like Jesus.

Now that he's pronounced you to be like Jesus.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:29:41

And that's the one you got to fight through.

Doctor David Spoon: 00:29:44

That's the one that you have to go, you know what?

I'm free.

I just don't have to do that.

I don't have to.

That, therefore, becomes a responsibility, because the scripture says, stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery, which means that you can, but if you do, it'll be your choice.
