03-07-2025 part 2: Resilience in Faith: Strong Until the Day

This episode elucidates the profound concept of being a new creation in Christ, emphasizing that while many may comprehend the notion of rebirth, a significant number do not embody this transformative identity in their daily lives. The discourse initiates with a reality check on the implications of being "born again," positing that it is insufficient merely to acknowledge this status; rather, one must actively live in accordance with it. We delve into the challenges posed by the remnants of our old selves, exploring the necessity of understanding and overcoming these impediments to truly reflect our new creation. Additionally, the episode offers comfort through biblical teachings, assuring listeners that God provides solutions to their afflictions and discouragements without requiring extraordinary resources. Ultimately, we are reminded to remain steadfast and strong until the day of Christ's return, upholding the conviction that divine support is unwavering throughout our spiritual journey.

The discourse presented within the recent podcast episode delves into the intricate concept of spiritual renewal, particularly the notion of being a 'new creation' in Christ. This theme is articulated through a profound exploration of 2 Corinthians 5:17, which posits that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation, emphasizing the necessity of embodying this transformation in daily life. The speaker poignantly reflects on the common struggle faced by many believers: despite the theological understanding of being born again, a disconnect often exists between belief and practice. This dichotomy raises critical questions about the authenticity of one's faith and the tangible manifestations of that faith in everyday actions. The episode subsequently transitions into a discussion regarding the comfort found in faith during life's tribulations, underscoring the importance of community and fellowship as vital sources of support and encouragement. The exhortation to maintain strength 'until the day of Christ' serves as a rallying cry for listeners to persevere amidst adversity, with the assurance that God’s commitment will sustain them through their spiritual journey.

Speaker A:

And now for something completely different.

Speaker A:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.

Speaker A:

It's fantastic phenomena, always fun, usually somewhat fascinating.

Speaker A:

Friday as we head into the weekend not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the seas, because our help comes from the Lord.

Speaker A:

First, it's Friday and we love Fridays because we have the opportunity to explore different lessons covering a whole range of topics that are corporate and personal, but we hope are beneficial.

Speaker A:

First up is a reality check about being a new creation.

Speaker A:

If you listen to yesterday's show, which you can always listen to the podcast through the website.

Speaker A:

The bottom line is we talked about new creation and being born again.

Speaker A:

Yet another evidence of how the Lord was working yesterday.

Speaker A:

Because today the first DDD is about born again new creatures in Christ.

Speaker A:

Not quite as in depth, but it's pretty interesting.

Speaker A:

That's really not the problem.

Speaker A:

The problem is not the being born again because some of us fully understand that the problem is that too many of us don't live like we're new creations.

Speaker A:

Uh oh.

Speaker A:

So some of us live like we're still in the old.

Speaker A:

And there's a specific resolution and solution to this conundrum.

Speaker A:

Next on the docket is a little bit of comfort.

Speaker A:

No, we're not talking about any type of drink, so stop that.

Speaker A:

Not that comfort.

Speaker A:

We're talking about what it is that when we go through different afflictions and conflicts and fears and discouragements and depressions and frustrations and the overall please just beam me up, Lord attitudes, God actually has a solution for our ailments.

Speaker A:

You'd be surprised.

Speaker A:

The remedy does not require treasure or talent, but it does require effort.

Speaker A:

And finally, we'll close out this week's series of shows with a stunner titled called Strong until the Day.

Speaker A:

So by golly, what do you think that means?

Speaker A:

It means that we can be strong all the way until the day of Christ.

Speaker A:

One of the Enemy's favorite tactics is to challenge us as to whether we'll make it to the end.

Speaker A:

Well, here's a message for the enemy.

Speaker A:

It's called the truth.

Speaker A:

And we shall know the truth, and the truth shall set us free.

Speaker B:

Speaker A:

Local, national and heavenly Talk.

Speaker A:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

Speaker A:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities, and oy vey, so much more.

Speaker A:

Now remember, it's not professional radio.

Speaker A:

And to prove it's not professional radio, we're gonna talk to the nicest guy in radio, but also the.

Speaker A:

The Mr.

Speaker A:

Slate of professional radio.

Speaker A:

Mr.

Speaker A:

Slate, the boss of Fred Flintstone, the Mr.

Speaker A:

Slate of professional radio.

Speaker A:

Ladies and gentlemen, we're talking to Jam and Jacob right now.

Speaker A:

Jam and Jacob or Mr.

Speaker A:

Slate of professional radio?

Speaker A:

Is the David Spoon Experience professional radio?

Speaker C:

No, it is not, David.

Speaker C:

And thank you for letting me know where it's from, because I did not.

Speaker A:

Know if I didn't say Mr.

Speaker A:

Slate, I had a feeling it would tell you it was connected to the Flintstones.

Speaker A:

I have a feeling you'd be going, what?

Speaker A:

What, what?

Speaker C:

I would have just went, sure, yeah.

Speaker A:

That was Fred's boss, Mr.

Speaker A:

Slate, at the point.

Speaker A:

Gotcha.

Speaker A:

Okay, okay, Mr.

Speaker A:

Slate, you're the boss man.

Speaker A:

There it is.

Speaker A:

All right, what's the deal?

Speaker A:

It's not professional radio.

Speaker A:

Oh, my goodness, you know that.

Speaker A:

Now, Brandon, by the way, what a blessing.

Speaker A:

Called in twice, so he's now on our list.

Speaker A:

That's really good.

Speaker A:

And we need other people to call in as well.

Speaker A:

And don't be afraid, but it's good.

Speaker A:

We want new people to call, we want old people to call.

Speaker A:

We want everybody to call because it's fun and it won't hurt you.

Speaker A:

That we know of, as far as we understand.

Speaker A:

But here's what we do want.

Speaker A:

We do want you to tell us how you're doing for real, so you can email us during the show.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

That's:

Speaker A:

Or.

Speaker A:

Or you can call us.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Well, by golly, you'll end up talking to.

Speaker A:

Talking to Jim and Jacob is like heading into the weekend.

Speaker A:

Hello.

Speaker C:

Thank you, David.

Speaker C:

Happy Friday.

Speaker A:

Happy Friday to you, my friend.

Speaker A:

So I checked with you earlier.

Speaker A:

You do not have to work this weekend.

Speaker A:

Is that correct?

Speaker C:

I do not.

Speaker C:

I am off this weekend.

Speaker A:

Very, very nice.

Speaker A:

Got any specific plans or.

Speaker A:

More just chilling like a villain.

Speaker A:

What are we doing?

Speaker C:

Actually, tomorrow I'm going with the friend to the movie store.

Speaker C:

Going to get some DVDs, so if that.

Speaker C:

That'll be fun.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker C:

Adding to my movie collection.

Speaker A:

They.

Speaker A:

They still have DVDs?

Speaker A:

Do they still have those?

Speaker C:

Yeah, right.

Speaker C:

We're not going to a Blockbuster.

Speaker C:

Don't have those anymore.

Speaker A:

There's only.

Speaker A:

I think there is one left in the.

Speaker A:

There's one like.

Speaker A:

And it's just too novel and they don't want to get rid of it.

Speaker A:

They do enough business to keep them afloat.

Speaker A:

I think there's one still going.

Speaker C:

But I remember going to that.

Speaker C:

Going to Hollywood Video, Family Video.

Speaker C:

Yeah, all those.

Speaker C:

Yep.

Speaker A:

Did you remember going, well, can you check the box where they put the stuff back in?

Speaker A:

Because you'd go there and you wouldn't have their movie and you're like, well, did you check the return box?

Speaker A:

You know?

Speaker C:

Right, right.

Speaker A:

All right, here's the deal.

Speaker A:

Okay, Everybody relax.

Speaker A:

Here it is.

Speaker A:

Why would you email us?

Speaker A:

Why would you text?

Speaker A:

Why would you call us?

Speaker A:

It can be for a couple of different reasons.

Speaker A:

Maybe you've got a praise report, a testimony, something the Lord has done and he's blessed you with it.

Speaker A:

When you share that, it reinforces it in your life.

Speaker A:

It blesses other Christians and it honors the Lord.

Speaker A:

In Isaiah 43:7, we were created for the glory of God, so it brings glory to God's name.

Speaker A:

That is an awesome thing.

Speaker A:

If you have a petition, a prayer request, something that is specific or even broad something.

Speaker A:

It doesn't have to always be about something bad.

Speaker A:

I know people think that, but it's like, that's ridiculous.

Speaker A:

Jesus said, ask and you will receive.

Speaker A:

Not, ask and you will receive, but only if it's bad.

Speaker A:

I mean, that's just really.

Speaker A:

This is crazy.

Speaker A:

But we need to have faith.

Speaker A:

And we bring that offering before the faith, with faith before the Lord.

Speaker A:

But we surrender it to his perfect will.

Speaker A:

Just like Jesus when he said, abba, Father, you can do anything.

Speaker A:

Let this cup pass from me nonetheless.

Speaker A:

Not mine, but thy will be done.

Speaker A:

We just follow that model.

Speaker A:

Works for us.

Speaker A:

Worked for Jesus.

Speaker A:

Works for us.

Speaker A:

So in that approach, we encourage you that way.

Speaker A:

Or maybe you just got something you want to share.

Speaker A:

Like, hey, this really is kind of cool thing.

Speaker A:

Cool.

Speaker A:

Maybe you can answer Bible trivia.

Speaker A:

Like I said, Brandon already answered.

Speaker A:

Not only did he answer the first question, he gave us a Bible trivia answer.

Speaker A:

So, people, it's time to step up.

Speaker A:

Here's your Bible trivia question.

Speaker A:

Who heard the still small voice of God?

Speaker A:

First Kings, chapter 19, verse 12.

Speaker A:

Who heard the still small voice of God wasn't in the earthquake, wasn't in the fire, wasn't any of that stuff.

Speaker A:

It was the still small voice of God.

Speaker A:

First Kings:

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you can reach out to us.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

You can also text live during the show.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Or send an email davidemustincrease.org it's pretty straightforward.

Speaker A:

Who heard the still small voice of God?

Speaker A:

First Kings, chapter 19, verse 12.

Speaker A:

And we do have somebody on the line that wants to answer the trivia question.

Speaker A:

Let's send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker D:

Hello, Dr.

Speaker D:

Spoon, this is Fred.

Speaker D:

How are you doing, sir?

Speaker A:

I'm doing wonderful, Fred.

Speaker A:

How are you, brother?

Speaker D:

I'm doing fine.

Speaker D:

I can't complain.

Speaker A:

I know you can't believe, but we want you people listen.

Speaker A:

This is Fred.

Speaker A:

Fred is a blessing.

Speaker A:

I want you to consider taking him on as your buddy for the week.

Speaker A:

Somebody you pray for over the week.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Think about that.

Speaker A:

There's a great person to do that with.

Speaker A:

Are you ready for the Triv question, my friend?

Speaker D:

I think so.

Speaker A:

I bet you are.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

Who heard the still small voice of.

Speaker D:

God out there after that great victory over BAAL and the false prophets, you would think that he'd be very, very strong and not afraid of anything.

Speaker D:

But he found himself running from the threat of Jezebel and he went and hid himself.

Speaker D:

And his name is Elijah.

Speaker A:

That is correct, Emmanuel.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It is one of those little more puzzling kind of like, you know, you get it.

Speaker A:

And sometimes I guess when you've done a great victory like he did, and maybe you're exhausted and maybe you've got a little bit of weakness going on, and then he hears something and it really has some kind of weird impact on him because it really did have something kind of weird impact on him.

Speaker A:

And then he goes running and it's like, wow, I never got that.

Speaker A:

I mean, I understand, but I mean, everybody has those moments.

Speaker A:

But yeah, that's exactly right.

Speaker A:

Enormous victory with the power of God manifested.

Speaker A:

And then the dude bolts.

Speaker A:

Like, wait, what?

Speaker D:

You know what's amazing?

Speaker D:

The king James Version declares, at the very last.

Speaker D:

At the very last verse, it said, and the five licked up the fire.

Speaker D:

Licked up, I guess, the dust or the ashes.

Speaker A:

But, yes.

Speaker D:

Can you get that in your mind?

Speaker D:

God's fire licking up.

Speaker D:

And I know that it didn't mean that.

Speaker D:

Well, maybe it didn't mean lizard.

Speaker D:

I don't know.

Speaker D:

But it's just.

Speaker D:

It's just an amazing thought that God's probably licked up the data and.

Speaker D:

Or the ashes.

Speaker D:

That was lips.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Everything.

Speaker A:

I mean, just everything.

Speaker A:

God, like, they're looking at it, going, what just happened?

Speaker A:

You know, they're having that moment for each one of them.

Speaker A:

No matter what happens.

Speaker A:

Everybody except for Elijah, okay.

Speaker A:

But they're all like, what just happened?

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker A:

And it was like, okay, the Lord, he is God.

Speaker A:

The Lord, he is God.

Speaker A:

Let's go.

Speaker A:

Let's go.

Speaker A:

And then it changed everybody's attitude.

Speaker A:

So that is amazing.

Speaker A:

Excellent point to bring up and excellent job for you, my brother.

Speaker A:

And I do want people to be praying for Fred.

Speaker A:

He's a blessing.

Speaker A:

I want God to bless him in his ministry and in his life.

Speaker A:

So we want that for you, my brother.

Speaker D:

Thank you very much.

Speaker D:

My.

Speaker D:

I have a brother that's.

Speaker D:

Whose heart is very bad.

Speaker D:

It's down to like 10%.

Speaker D:

They're considering the transplant.

Speaker D:

But I know that God is able.

Speaker D:

The scriptures letting us know in Jeremiah, chapter 32, verse 17 that there's nothing too hard for God.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker D:

I just want you to believe your.

Speaker D:

Your partners to pray with me as I pray for my brother.

Speaker D:

His name is Eugene.

Speaker D:

He lives in Denver.

Speaker D:

Pray for him and his wife.

Speaker A:

All right, let's pray for them real quickly as well and get the ball rolling, because that's a good thing.

Speaker D:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Let's pray.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now.

Speaker A:

We thank you for Fred.

Speaker A:

We do ask you to bless Fred.

Speaker A:

We're just asking you as our dad, to bless our brother.

Speaker A:

I mean, you know, give it to him, Lord.

Speaker A:

Bless him.

Speaker A:

And, Lord, we're lifting up Eugene to you.

Speaker A:

And he's really at that door, Lord.

Speaker A:

It's a hard place to be for his wife, for him, for family, for everybody that knows him.

Speaker A:

Everybody's connected.

Speaker A:

We ask for your mercy.

Speaker A:

We ask for your grace.

Speaker A:

We do ask for your healing power to touch his heart and bring regeneration and restoration.

Speaker A:

If you want to do it a different way, Lord, we don't have a problem with that, but we just want you to keep him going.

Speaker A:

Unless you've got him marked out, Lord, where he's going to come and hang with you.

Speaker A:

Lord.

Speaker A:

Give him a little more time here with all of his family, his friends, his brothers, his sisters.

Speaker A:

Let him be blessed and let it be a testimony that we can talk about in the future.

Speaker A:

We leave that before your hands and we lay that at your altar.

Speaker A:

We have great confidence in your generosity.

Speaker A:

We pray it in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Speaker A:

The name of Jesus.

Speaker A:

Amen and amen.

Speaker D:

Amen.

Speaker D:

Thank you very much and God bless you and God bless all of your audience.

Speaker D:

And hey, let's get ready to be raptured out of here before this thing hit the fan.

Speaker A:

Amen, brother.

Speaker A:

Gotcha.

Speaker A:

I'm with you.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

Bye bye.

Speaker A:

All right, Fred, Always a delightful call.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to say it's just a great call.

Speaker A:

Just a great brother in the Lord.

Speaker A:

All right, we're doing our DNA.

Speaker A:

Don't think you're not doing DNA.

Speaker A:

I don't care.

Speaker A:

Is that rude?

Speaker A:

Are you supposed to say stuff like that?

Speaker A:

I don't care.

Speaker A:

You know, we do have a very weird Christian show.

Speaker A:

I mean, it's very.

Speaker A:

I mean, one of the funniest things we've ever done in this show is like, okay, people like the jokes to be Christian.

Speaker A:

Okay, it's a Christian chicken.

Speaker A:

I just think that's one of the funniest lines we've ever come up with.

Speaker A:

It's so weird.

Speaker A:

Alright, anyway, let's do our DNA.

Speaker A:

D stands for Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

Every day that ends in Y.

Speaker A:

Spend time with the guy in the sky.

Speaker A:

It's just as clear as can be.

Speaker A:

Everything flows out of our relationship with the Lord.

Speaker A:

Everything.

Speaker A:

Everything that we do, everything that we're doing towards the kingdom is all connected to our connection with the Lord.

Speaker A:

Everything.

Speaker A:

And we've said it before and we'll say it again.

Speaker A:

You want your life to be better?

Speaker A:

Start with hanging out more with your creator who gave you life and is able to make your life better.

Speaker A:

And you might be thinking, does that mean I'll be wealthy?

Speaker A:

No, it means you'll be richer in the kingdom of God.

Speaker A:

And that's what you want, right?

Speaker A:

Laying up treasures in heaven.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

N By the way, it doesn't mean he won't bless you.

Speaker A:

I'm just saying be aware of that.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

Never be ashamed of what God has to say.

Speaker A:

I was doing my studying for something that we're going to do in First Peter in about three, maybe about four weeks.

Speaker A:

It's amazing.

Speaker A:

Amazing.

Speaker A:

We have to stand firm in the word of God.

Speaker A:

And if people don't like it, here's the great, great response.

Speaker A:

Ready, Tough.

Speaker A:

God created the universe.

Speaker A:

He can write a book.

Speaker A:

You don't like it, too bad.

Speaker A:

That's how it goes.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

If you want a double reference point, Luke 9:26, where Jesus said, if you're ashamed of me or my words, I'll be ashamed of you when I come in glory with angels or from the glory from my Father with the angels.

Speaker A:

And then a.

Speaker A:

So d Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A.

Speaker A:

Always be ready.

Speaker C:

To serve.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

The Lord wants you to serve.

Speaker A:

Are you ready?

Speaker A:

See that?

Speaker A:

See that?

Speaker A:

You think, well, how do you know that's going to happen?

Speaker A:

Well, if you're not ready, it would be a problem.

Speaker A:

But if you're ready, it wouldn't be a problem.

Speaker A:

Anyway, here am I.

Speaker A:

Send me Lord, right?

Speaker A:

Right after Isaiah got zapped, got the forgiveness for his bad tongue.

Speaker A:

I'm sure he's the only prophet that ever had a bad tongue.

Speaker A:

No other Christian ever has a bad tongue.

Speaker A:

They have a second tongue and then they have a third tongue, and that's the bad one we're talking about.

Speaker A:

So let's just talk about the reality check in that we have to be ready.

Speaker A:

On your mark, get set.

Speaker A:

You got to be ready.

Speaker A:

Ready.

Speaker A:

On guard.

Speaker A:

Ready, right.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

You better board the flight now because if you're late, you're not getting on it.

Speaker A:

Okay, Got it.

Speaker A:

And the fact that Jesus said be ready multiple times in the Gospel, as well as everything from Acts to Revelation, saying be ready.

Speaker A:

And we're not even bringing in the Old Testament, which we could easily do.

Speaker A:

We just got to be on top of it.

Speaker A:

It's not all about how we're at where we're at every moment of every day.

Speaker A:

It's also about what the Lord wants us to do.

Speaker A:

To be a blessing to other people, to serve other people, to advance his kingdom, and who knows when what companions.

Speaker A:

That doesn't even matter.

Speaker A:

It doesn't matter if we're not ready.

Speaker A:

We want to make sure that we are ready.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Ready, looking forward to his return and ready.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A.

Speaker A:

Always be ready to serve.

Speaker A:

Now I'm gonna do a very, very short teaching, and then we'll do our exit.

Speaker A:

Okay, so yesterday we had this very.

Speaker A:

We had this Call in from Sergio.

Speaker A:

And we talked, I think for 20 minutes.

Speaker A:

Was it about 20 minutes?

Speaker A:

It was a long.

Speaker A:

I was yapping for a long time yesterday.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

On that question that Sergio asked.

Speaker A:

It was almost full 20 minutes, wasn't it?

Speaker C:

Yeah, it finished out the show.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it was a long one.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

And he was talking about being born again.

Speaker A:

And so if you want a reference point, go to the website.

Speaker A:

We'll send you there anyway.

Speaker A:

And then it's one of the most recent podcasts and it's the One that's part two, what we call part two.

Speaker A:

But I want to just bring in to you two Corinthians 5:17.

Speaker A:

And I know people don't like when I do some of this, but it doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

Here's what it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Speaker A:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature.

Speaker A:

Old things passed away.

Speaker A:

Behold, new things have come.

Speaker A:

So it's interesting in this text and in the Greek where it says, if anyone is in Christ, it's like, well, what do you mean by that?

Speaker A:

Well, I'm going to be honest.

Speaker A:

I want you to be honest about it too.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

In Christ is not every moment that a lot of us live, some of us live a little bit out of Christ.

Speaker A:

One of my favorite sayings is we have the mind of Christ.

Speaker A:

It would be swell if we used it.

Speaker A:

It's like, oh, that's a good one.

Speaker A:

Because when we're out and we're walking in the not so new, that's just bad.

Speaker A:

Now, positionally, that old man has been crucified we talked about practically, he's still hanging out until the last redemption of death.

Speaker A:

That's how that's going to go.

Speaker A:

Nobody's going to change that.

Speaker A:

I don't care what their theology is.

Speaker A:

It's not going to change.

Speaker A:

The last enemy is death.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Has death been removed from the planet?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Okay, so you know that the old curse still has activity.

Speaker A:

The old nature still has power.

Speaker A:

Does that mean you're not going to get saved?

Speaker A:

No, but it means that when you go back into the old you, it's just as bad, if not worse, than it always was.

Speaker A:

So the passage says, if anyone is in Christ.

Speaker A:

So the encouragement is simply this, be in Christ.

Speaker A:

That's kind of right along the lines of always be ready to serve, be in the kingdom.

Speaker A:

That's what we need.

Speaker A:

We need to be in, not out.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Then we'll be ready to be used by the Lord.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Okay, cool.

Speaker A:

Just a brief little teaching.

Speaker A:

Just Wanted to cover that with you.

Speaker A:

All right, we're going to take our break and then come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break, we'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker E:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

I'm not going to do an over overriding teaching that will make the Baptist or the Church of Christ proud.

Speaker A:

So neither one of you groups can be all excited about this because that's not the purpose of this.

Speaker A:

Here's where we're picking it up.

Speaker A:

As verse 34 ends, the eunuch asks Philip, what was Isaiah talking about himself or someone else verse 35 for from Acts chapter 9 or chapter 8.

Speaker A:

Said Philip says, Philip began with the same scripture and then began to tell him about the good news about Jesus.

Speaker A:

As they rode along, they came to some water.

Speaker A:

And the eunuch said, look, there is some water.

Speaker A:

Why can't I be baptized?

Speaker A:

So let's just stop right there.

Speaker A:

When Philip was explaining the gospel to the eunuch, he had to include the understandings or the teachings of baptism or the eunuch never would have said, why can't I be baptized?

Speaker A:

He never would have said.

Speaker A:

It never would have come up unless Philip had brought that information to light.

Speaker A:

In multiple translations, it then says, you can.

Speaker A:

Philip answered, if you believe with all your heart.

Speaker A:

And the eunuch replied, I believe that Jesus, Jesus Christ is the son of God.

Speaker A:

This is often known as believers baptism.

Speaker A:

Some texts will show this in the footnote.

Speaker A:

I disagree that it should be reduced to the footnote.

Speaker A:

I think it's a part of the text.

Speaker A:

I would not fellowship with you over that.

Speaker A:

I just think it is a part of the text because he asks a very pointed question.

Speaker A:

And in this exchange, Philip is giving a very pointed answer.

Speaker A:

So he's like, well, there's some water.

Speaker A:

I want to be baptized.

Speaker A:

I want to respond to the gospel.

Speaker A:

I want to say yes.

Speaker A:

And Philip responds by saying, you can, you can get baptized.

Speaker A:

As long as you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, you can be baptized.

Speaker A:

Now why that's important is because this is the difference between many different groups about who can be baptized.

Speaker A:

Some people think, well, a child can be baptized, yeah, but a child can't believe, believe in Jesus.

Speaker A:

So then how can a child be baptized?

Speaker A:

That's the argument.

Speaker A:

Okay, those again, those are not fellowship issues.

Speaker A:

Those are disagreements.

Speaker A:

You know, we spent, I spent 10 minutes talking about understanding who's got the spirit of God, who doesn't have the spirit of God.

Speaker A:

When you have a difference of application of scripture that that person's not an evil person.

Speaker A:

They're not some kind of demonic whatever.

Speaker A:

They see something different than you.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

They're genuinely in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

The blood of Jesus Christ is what redeems us.

Speaker A:

They acknowledging their heavenly father, praying our Father, who art thou in heaven.

Speaker A:

They drink of the same holy spirit.

Speaker A:

They come to a different conclusion.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

What else is new?

Speaker A:

Does everybody think McDonald's is the best fast food?

Speaker A:

Are you kidding?

Speaker A:

There's only a few people.

Speaker A:

Oh.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

There's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

This is a great trivia question.

Speaker A:

I mean, great trivia question.

Speaker A:

Which is not one of the three angels mentioned by name in the Bible?

Speaker A:

Michael, Raphael, Lucifer or Gabriel.

Speaker A:

Which one is not mentioned in the actual 66 book Bible?

Speaker A:

39 in the old 27 in the new.

Speaker A:

verses,:

Speaker A:

Which one is not one of the three angels mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker A:

Michael, Raphael, Lucifer or Gabriel.

Speaker A:

Which is not mentioned?

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

So I just want to make sure you understand the question.

Speaker A:

I just want to make sure you get it is what I'm really looking for.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

The question is, which one of these three angels is not mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker A:

See, is that Michael, Raphael, Lucifer or Gabriel?

Speaker A:

Those are your choices.

Speaker A:

We're not giving you any more choices.

Speaker A:

So you don't get any more choices.

Speaker A:

You see how that works?

Speaker A:

See, multiple choice, you get four choices.

Speaker A:

You don't get to add one or subtract.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Just making sure we know that.

Speaker A:

So what we are going to do is we're going to probably take our call and do our teaching.

Speaker A:

We are going to try and squeeze in our history later on because yesterday's history had four really good food things and I missed it.

Speaker A:

It was so sad.

Speaker A:

One of them was Oreo cookies, right?

Speaker A:

Let's say.

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker C:

Yeah, that's what I was going to say.

Speaker C:

Oreo cookie Day.

Speaker A:

That was a good one.

Speaker A:

We missed that one.

Speaker A:

So anyway, we'll get to it.

Speaker A:

When it's the perfect time, we'll do the best we can, as we often do.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody on the line is ready to answer a trivia question.

Speaker A:

Let's go ahead and send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker F:

Happy Friday, David.

Speaker F:

This is Curtis, my brother.

Speaker A:

Hey, Curtis.

Speaker A:

How are you, my brother, man?

Speaker F:

I am doing great, my friend.

Speaker F:

Enjoying the show as always.

Speaker A:

I appreciate that.

Speaker A:

I really, really do.

Speaker A:

And this is a great.

Speaker A:

This is a really challenging question.

Speaker A:

You got to think about it for a second and then most people know it, but you still have to kind of process it.

Speaker A:

Let me set it up for you and then you can answer it.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Which is not one of the three angels mentioned by name in the Bible?

Speaker A:

Michael, Raphael, Lucifer, or Gabriel.

Speaker A:

Okay, back up, back up.

Speaker A:

Is Lucifer mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker F:

He is mentioned.

Speaker F:

Is he mentioned as an angel?

Speaker F:

I was thinking for sure it would be Lucifer.

Speaker A:

That's okay.

Speaker A:

Well, an angel's a fallen demon, so I mean, a demon is a fallen angel.

Speaker A:

Sorry, I said that backwards.

Speaker A:

So he'd still have that kind of status.

Speaker A:

Which one of those four, though, sounds like one of the four musketeers?

Speaker A:

Michael, Raphael, Lucifer or Gabriel?

Speaker F:

Oh, Raphael.

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

But no, there it is.

Speaker F:

And that's why I.

Speaker F:

I love about your show, David.

Speaker F:

I learn something every day, brother.

Speaker F:

You're such a blessing.

Speaker A:

No, I appreciate that brother.

Speaker A:

Raphael is also.

Speaker A:

Raphael is one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Speaker A:

I'm just saying that's important to some people.

Speaker A:

But he's actually mentioned in the Book of Tobit, but he's not really.

Speaker A:

And Lucifer is seen as an angel that has fallen.

Speaker A:

A chief angel, actually, they believe to some degree.

Speaker A:

And there's an interesting theology behind it.

Speaker A:

So in different theology, there's something called demonology, and then there's a Satanology.

Speaker A:

And there's different elements, but they think that he was a high level angel that got pride to his hide.

Speaker A:

And then that's when he said, I'm as good as God.

Speaker A:

And that's what the whole thing comes about.

Speaker A:

That's why God hates pride so much.

Speaker A:

But still, that's a great thing to learn.

Speaker A:

Now you know it.

Speaker A:

And somebody asks you again, it's like, Michael, Lucifer, Gabriel, Raphael.

Speaker A:

You're gonna go, Raphael, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle guy?

Speaker F:

Yeah, I'll definitely know it next time.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker F:

You got time for a quick joke?

Speaker A:

Yes, sir.

Speaker A:

Absolutely.

Speaker A:

As long as it's clean.

Speaker A:

Yes, we do.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker F:

There's this guy sitting in his living room One night after a hard day of work, and he's watching tv, hears a knock at the door.

Speaker F:

So he goes over there and he answers the door, and there's not a soul in sight, you know, and he looks around and he looks down at the welcome mat, and there's a little snail there.

Speaker F:

You know, he picks the snail up and he's had a rough day, so he just throws that poor little snail as far as he can throw him, you know, and he slams the door.

Speaker F:

And about three weeks later goes by, he's sitting there, same thing, you know, enjoying a little television.

Speaker F:

He hears a knock at the door, gets up and answers the door and looks around.

Speaker A:

Hello.

Speaker F:

And not a soul in sight, right?

Speaker F:

Well, he looks down, he sees another little snail there at the welcome mat.

Speaker F:

So he bends over and he picks up the snail, and he's looking at him up close, and the little snail looks at him and says, what was that all about?

Speaker A:

He said, what.

Speaker F:

All about?

Speaker F:

Get back and ask.

Speaker A:

You're a riot, dude.

Speaker A:

You're a riot.

Speaker F:

Fill the court.

Speaker A:

That's all right.

Speaker A:

I love corny jokes.

Speaker A:

That's what we all we do.

Speaker A:

Nice job, Curtis.

Speaker A:

Excellent job.

Speaker F:

Hey, have a blessed weekend, my brother.

Speaker F:

You and Jacob both, my friend.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Thank you, brother.

Speaker A:

You as well.

Speaker A:

You as well.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

Bye.

Speaker A:

Bye.

Speaker A:

All right, great.

Speaker A:

All right, so now wait on the Buddies.

Speaker A:

Remember, this is Curtis.

Speaker A:

You could be praying for Curtis as a buddy.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

You could be praying for him.

Speaker A:

By the way, Nancy's letting me know that tomorrow is Nancy's birthday.

Speaker A:

I don't know if we have a happy.

Speaker A:

Do we have a happy birthday sound?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I think we do.

Speaker A:

Do we have one?

Speaker C:

We have the happy birthday piano.

Speaker A:

All right, do that one.

Speaker A:

Let's play it.

Speaker A:

This is for you, Nancy.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

Ready?

Speaker A:

Here we.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker A:

Happy birthday, Nancy.

Speaker A:

That's another person to be one of your buddy prayer buddies.

Speaker A:

That's one of the things that we're talking about, be a buddy kind of thing.

Speaker A:

Let me do this teaching.

Speaker A:

We'll probably exit a little late, but we are going to exit.

Speaker A:

This is Second Corinthians, chapter seven, verse five through six.

Speaker A:

This is really powerful.

Speaker A:

Okay, how do I say that?

Speaker A:

Listen, don't let me get in the way of the text.

Speaker A:

Listen to the text.

Speaker A:

Second Corinthians, 7, 5, 6.

Speaker A:

For even when we came into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest.

Speaker A:

We were afflicted on every side.

Speaker A:

Conflicts without fears within.

Speaker A:

But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us by the coming of Titus.

Speaker A:

So this is Paul writing to the church at Corinth.

Speaker A:

This is his second letter to them.

Speaker A:

And he's like, when we came to Macedonia, we didn't have any rest.

Speaker A:

We were so tired.

Speaker A:

And in this case, when he says flesh, he means his actual body, not the old nature.

Speaker A:

It's like, we were tired, man.

Speaker A:

We had no rest on the outside.

Speaker A:

We were getting afflicted.

Speaker A:

People are just coming at us on all sides of things.

Speaker A:

Have you ever gone through that?

Speaker A:

And I know everybody who can hear my voice has.

Speaker A:

Where things seem to be throwing at you or little darts at ya, right?

Speaker A:

Darts.

Speaker A:

Remember fiery darts, Right?

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

So they're coming at you from all different directions.

Speaker A:

So he goes, we were afflicted on every side.

Speaker A:

Conflicts without fears within.

Speaker A:

Oh, Paul was perfect.

Speaker A:

He was having problems on the external, he's having problems on the internal.

Speaker A:

He's as human as all of us.

Speaker A:

I wish people would stop trying to put Paul in this other weird place.

Speaker A:

If you read his writings, you know what he says.

Speaker A:

Hey, on the outside, it was a mess.

Speaker A:

On the inside, it was a mess.

Speaker A:

Kind of like Paul saying, it was a mess.

Speaker A:

Verse 6.

Speaker A:

But God.

Speaker A:

Oh, don't you love that?

Speaker A:

We've talked about this so many times.

Speaker A:

It only takes a word to change your life.

Speaker A:

Here it's two.

Speaker A:

Dave, I'm going through this.

Speaker A:

But God, I had this problem.

Speaker A:

But God.

Speaker A:

But God.

Speaker A:

Okay, see, when that enters, it changes everything.

Speaker A:

Look at what he says.

Speaker A:

But God who comforts the depressed.

Speaker A:

God is a God of comfort.

Speaker A:

And for those that don't know the actual word depressed.

Speaker A:

Depression comes from the Latin word pushing something down with your thumb.

Speaker A:

Pushing down the thumb, it's like pushing something.

Speaker A:

It's like something pushing on your head.

Speaker A:

And God is a God of comfort.

Speaker A:

He's not unfamiliar with your struggle.

Speaker A:

He's not unfamiliar with your fight.

Speaker A:

He's not unfamiliar with your conflicts.

Speaker A:

He's not unfamiliar with your fears in the context that he knows you're going through them.

Speaker A:

And even with him knowing, he's letting you know, I am here to comfort you.

Speaker A:

And in this case, look at what God uses to bring the comfort.

Speaker A:

Let me say that again.

Speaker A:

Look at.

Speaker A:

It's somebody that God uses to bring the comfort.

Speaker A:

He says, but God who comforts the depressed comforted us by the coming of Titus.

Speaker A:

The Lord used fellowship to bring comfort to the Apostle Paul.

Speaker A:

Do you think it would work for you?

Speaker A:

I can't figure out why we wouldn't think it would work for each one of us.

Speaker A:

The Lord brings Us comfort through other people.

Speaker A:

So I'll use this as, I think, a fair example right on this show, we've had a lot of opportunity to bless people and to comfort people.

Speaker A:

I think the Lord has done that.

Speaker A:

But it happens because of all of us, not because of me.

Speaker A:

Because if you're not listening, there's not going to be a me.

Speaker A:

So what I'm saying is it's all of us combined together, and people are getting blessed by it.

Speaker A:

And it's like the Lord uses that.

Speaker A:

He uses that fellowship to help one another, to strengthen one another, to bless one another, to encourage one another.

Speaker A:

He uses fellowship to lift you up and to surround you and protect you.

Speaker A:

The problem is, if we don't have fellowship, we're in trouble.

Speaker A:

And so that's why we encourage people.

Speaker A:

Most of you know my background, having a very, very tough church experience turned into a cult.

Speaker A:

But that didn't mean church was bad.

Speaker A:

It meant that church was bad.

Speaker A:

And if you've been hurt in a church, I'm sorry, and I do know the pain.

Speaker A:

But that is not an excuse to stay away from fellowship.

Speaker A:

Just doesn't work.

Speaker A:

Because Christianity is not a lone wolf McQuaid process.

Speaker A:

Do you understand what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

You got to do this in concert with one another.

Speaker A:

It's what you need.

Speaker A:

It's what we all need.

Speaker A:

We all need that.

Speaker A:

In fact, I really feel that there's some people that are listening that are like, yeah, but you don't know what they did.

Speaker A:

You know what?

Speaker A:

You're right.

Speaker A:

I don't know what the church did to you.

Speaker A:

They could have taken all your money.

Speaker A:

Could have been a bad thing.

Speaker A:

Could have been just bad elders or bad pastor.

Speaker A:

It happens all the time, all over, right?

Speaker A:

But remember this, the true church, the actual church of God, is the bride of Christ.

Speaker A:

And to condemn the entire church because there was a zit on one part of the body is not acceptable.

Speaker A:

Or there was a mole on one part of the body not acceptable.

Speaker A:

We need one another.

Speaker A:

And you can't fulfill carrying one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ without fellowship.

Speaker A:

Can't be done.

Speaker A:

Can't do it.

Speaker A:

And I understand if you've been hurt.

Speaker A:

I do.

Speaker A:

But I also understand there's healing and there is redemption and there is comfort and the Lord.

Speaker A:

That's what the Lord's offering us.

Speaker A:

Okay, all right, all right.

Speaker A:

We'll take a short break and then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on kaam770 the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Now, if anybody gets offended at this, I apologize that you have no sense of humor.

Speaker A:

Okay, like that.

Speaker A:

That's a good line.

Speaker A:

Bam.

Speaker A:

Bam.

Speaker A:

Alright, here's the first one.

Speaker A:

A pastor was leaving his area and was saying farewell to his congregation at the church door for the last time.

Speaker A:

He shook the hand of an elderly lady as she walked out.

Speaker A:

She said, your successor won't be as good as you.

Speaker A:

Well, nonsense, said the pastor in a flattered tone.

Speaker A:

No, really, said the old lady.

Speaker A:

I've been here under five different ministers and each new one has been worse than the last.

Speaker A:

Ouch.

Speaker A:

Ouch.

Speaker A:

But this one, this is the one that's gonna offend people.

Speaker A:

Which is irony, right?

Speaker A:

Because that's more offensive than this is.

Speaker A:

And this is just too.

Speaker A:

And if you guys get offended at this, I, you know, take a.

Speaker A:

Take a week off the show.

Speaker A:

It seems there was a minister who had just all of his remaining teeth pulled and new dentures were being made.

Speaker A:

The first Sunday, he only preached 10 minutes.

Speaker A:

The second Sunday, he preached 20 minutes.

Speaker A:

But the third Sunday, he preached an hour and 25 minutes.

Speaker A:

When asked about this by some of the congregation, he responded this way.

Speaker A:

The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk.

Speaker A:

The second Sunday, my dentures were hurting a lot.

Speaker A:

The third Sunday, I accidentally grabbed my wife's dentures and I couldn't stop talking.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

This is a absolutely hysterical, funny, think this through trivia question Ready?

Speaker A:

As part of the ritual atonement, what type of goat, what was the goat called that carried sins away from the camp?

Speaker A:

Was it the sports goat, the billy goat or the scapegoat?

Speaker A:

Leviticus:

Speaker A:

Listen to the question ready?

Speaker A:

As part of a ritual, what was the goat called that carried the sins away from the camp?

Speaker A:

A sports goat, a billy goat or a scapegoat?

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

I will repeat what I said before making it just as simple as possible.

Speaker A:

We have some definitive ministry needs and we are just, I don't know what's going on.

Speaker A:

We've been in a very weird 10 week giving, lowest amount of giving in the six years we've done the ministry.

Speaker A:

It's just a weird thing.

Speaker A:

But I do believe that God is going to open it up and bring out great, great blessings and we have new people giving and we really do appreciate that.

Speaker A:

If you can't give, don't stress.

Speaker A:

We don't operate that way.

Speaker A:

But if the Lord allows you to and you can give, please do so.

Speaker A:

That would really help us out and that's what we're asking for because we exist off the donations of our listeners.

Speaker A:

Check it out on the website hemustincrease.org Prayer Request hemostincrease.org Praise Report hemousincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.

Speaker A:

He mustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

He must increase.org hemustincrease.org can't touch this.

Speaker A:

Can't touch this.

Speaker A:

That's my favorite.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

That's my favorite.

Speaker A:

That's how it goes.

Speaker A:

That's your favorite, right?

Speaker A:

And I also like his song, you Got to Pray just to make it today.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I like that.

Speaker A:

I'm that guy.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody on the phone to answer the Trivia question?

Speaker A:

I think so.

Speaker A:

Let's go ahead and send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker G:

Hi, David.

Speaker G:

It's Nancy.

Speaker A:

Hi, Nancy.

Speaker A:

How are ya?

Speaker G:

Oh, I'm great.

Speaker A:

Oh, I'm so glad.

Speaker A:

Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you I'd sing you the way I sing it to my grandkids.

Speaker A:

Okay, I'll just give you just some of it.

Speaker A:

Ready?

Speaker A:

Ready.

Speaker A:

So Carter bear's birthday was the other day.

Speaker A:

So this is how I sing.

Speaker A:

This is how I sing it.

Speaker A:

Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Carter bear.

Speaker A:

That's why I sing it.

Speaker G:

Oh, that's awesome.

Speaker G:

I've never had anyone quite sing like that to me.

Speaker A:

He has to sit there and listen to it.

Speaker A:

That's why that's funny.

Speaker A:

Not only do we get him a present, but he's got to listen to the rendition.

Speaker A:

Ha.

Speaker A:

All right, Ready for the triv question?

Speaker G:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Okay, as part, Let me go through the whole thing and then you can answer.

Speaker A:

As part of the ritual atonement, what was the goat called that carried the sins away from the camp?

Speaker A:

Was it a sports goat, a billy goat, or a scapegoat?

Speaker G:

Okay, let me think for a minute.

Speaker G:

Sports, billy and scapegoat.

Speaker G:

I'm gonna guess it was a scapegoat.

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

But no.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Sports goat.

Speaker A:

I just want to say that a sports goat is the greatest of all time.

Speaker A:

So that would be like, you know, so that kind of, you know, like, you know, from a quarterback point of view, whether you like him or not, Tom Brady still, you know, it's how many rings that count.

Speaker A:

And so it's like you can't do anything about that.

Speaker A:

And so then, billy goat.

Speaker A:

Well, okay, that's billy goat.

Speaker A:

By the way, my brother's name is.

Speaker G:

I didn't know his first name.

Speaker A:

So yeah.

Speaker A:

lly, scapegoat from Leviticus:

Speaker A:

Excellent job.

Speaker A:

Excellent, excellent word.

Speaker G:

I'm not quite old, old, old yet.

Speaker G:

I'm just old, old.

Speaker A:

I just want to point this out.

Speaker A:

You're never old for a tree.

Speaker A:

Never forget that.

Speaker G:

Okay, there's quite a few rings going around here, so I think I got more rings than Tom Brady.

Speaker A:

That's funny.

Speaker A:

Excellent job.

Speaker A:

Very, very good.

Speaker A:

Appreciate you.

Speaker A:

Have a wonderful day.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker G:

All right, you too.

Speaker G:

Bye.

Speaker A:

Okay, bye.

Speaker A:

Bye.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Marvelous.

Speaker A:

Don't you love our audience?

Speaker A:

It's another person to pray for.

Speaker A:

We just have people you can pray for and be buddies with.

Speaker A:

We are, by the way.

Speaker A:

We are only because of one Very particular thing.

Speaker A:

We are, though, going to do history.

Speaker A:

Let's go.

Speaker A:

Let's take him the past.

Speaker A:

Let's go.

Speaker A:

All right, so there's a couple cool things.

Speaker A:

Not a ton of them, but a couple of cool things.

Speaker A:

1912, on this day, the first nonstop flight from Paris to London was made in three hours.

Speaker A:

That's kind of an aviation kind of thing.

Speaker A:

I think that's pretty cool.

Speaker A:

1917.

Speaker A:

So listen to this.

Speaker A:

This is 105 years ago, the first jazz record.

Speaker A:

Original Dixieland Jazz Band released Lively Stable Blues.

Speaker A:

It became a best seller and one of the establishers for jazz music.

Speaker A:

Isn't that weird?

Speaker A:

It's like, who knew that?

Speaker A:

I didn't know that.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

I thought that was just definitely different.

Speaker A:

Okay, then go to the other facts.

Speaker A:

Today is Fun Facts About Names Day, which is like, where the origins come from and so on and so forth.

Speaker A:

So my original David means beloved, but that's really not what they named me when I was born.

Speaker A:

My actual Hebrew name is Shalom David.

Speaker A:

How about that?

Speaker A:

Oh, okay.

Speaker A:

A lot of people don't know that.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

And then also, it's all Roast of Pork day, which is good no matter what, because if it's pork, I don't care.

Speaker A:

If it's roast, I don't care what it is.

Speaker A:

Is it pork?

Speaker A:

Okay, I'm there.

Speaker C:

They just give you pork and you eat it.

Speaker A:

I don't care.

Speaker A:

I could care less.

Speaker A:

I don't care if it's sweet pork and those little muffiny things.

Speaker A:

I don't care.

Speaker A:

It's like, okay, that's my attitude.

Speaker A:

But the grand.

Speaker A:

The grand element for today, and I do have a very specific one, is we did this last year, so it's okay.

Speaker A:

It's cereal day.

Speaker A:

Cereal day.

Speaker A:

Now I know my favorite.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to ask Jam and Jacob, do you have a favorite cereal?

Speaker C:

There's multiple ones I love, but if I had to pick one, I'll go with Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker A:

Something that Noel likes very, very much.

Speaker A:

Very, very interesting.

Speaker A:

I am a peanut butter Captain Crunch guy.

Speaker A:

I.

Speaker C:

That's a good one.

Speaker A:

That's a good one.

Speaker A:

I love peanut butter Captain Crunch.

Speaker A:

In fact, when Noelle.

Speaker A:

Whenever she gets it, we already know we're going to blow it on that because we're going to have where the box will be gone in the 24 hours.

Speaker C:

There's one I feel like is underrated.

Speaker C:

It's honeycombs.

Speaker C:

I love honeycombs.

Speaker A:

Honeycombs are great, too.

Speaker A:

And then they acquire the Corn Pops.

Speaker A:

And I like Frosted flakes.

Speaker A:

I like all that stuff.

Speaker A:

All right, well, I know you're not supposed to like it.

Speaker A:

I don't care.

Speaker A:

See, 90 years, miserable.

Speaker A:

89 years and nine months, not miserable.

Speaker A:

And then I go see the Lord sooner.

Speaker A:

That's not a tough call.

Speaker A:

All right, let's do our final teaching.

Speaker A:

Our final.

Speaker A:

That I'm aware of, final teaching.

Speaker A:

I could throw out another trivia question if you guys really felt like you can do it.

Speaker A:

I mean, it's not a bad one.

Speaker A:

All right, here's a person.

Speaker A:

The Lord rebuked somebody out of a whirlwind.

Speaker A:

Out of a whirlwind.

Speaker A:

Who was it?

Speaker A:

The Lord rebuked somebody out of a whirlwind.

Speaker A:

So he spoke out of a whirlwind.

Speaker A:

I can't give you a reference because that will give you the answer.

Speaker A:

But the Lord rebuked somebody out of the whirlwind.

Speaker A:

Who did he rebuke?

Speaker A:

Old Testament.

Speaker A:

That's what you gotta work with.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you have very, very, very short time.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Very, very not happy with this person.

Speaker A:

Who was that?

Speaker A:

That is the question.

Speaker A:

You're going to have to draw on your biblical knowledge just because I can't give you a reference.

Speaker A:

So our very closing teach is really super duper important.

Speaker A:

And why it's super duper important.

Speaker A:

And it actually has a title.

Speaker A:

Not a lot of my DD, DDDs, Dr.

Speaker A:

Dave's Devotional Diamonds of the Day, or just Devotional Diamonds of the Day.

Speaker A:

Not a lot of them have titles.

Speaker A:

This one does.

Speaker A:

It's called Strong until the Day.

Speaker A:

Strong until the Day.

Speaker A:

So what that means is that we need to be strong until the day of Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

But what the enemy tries to do to you and I is tackle that.

Speaker A:

He tries to say, yea, hath God said.

Speaker A:

Trying to create doubt in our faith, trying to create doubt in the word of God, trying to challenge the authority.

Speaker A:

And so the specifics are that this is a way to get free from the enemy who has said to you time and time again, are you going to make it?

Speaker A:

We'll see if you make it.

Speaker A:

We don't know if you're going to make it.

Speaker A:

And people are like, well, does the enemy really do that?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

He said to Jesus, if you are the Son of God, to the Son of God.

Speaker A:

Some commentators say, well, he didn't mean that.

Speaker A:

It's like, that's what he said.

Speaker A:

Okay, if you're the Son of God.

Speaker A:

Because Satan was trying to get him to prove it.

Speaker A:

So the idea behind this is, understand that the truth.

Speaker A:

Because every time Jesus replied, how it is written.

Speaker A:

It is written.

Speaker A:

It is written.

Speaker A:

Okay, so here we go in the word of God so that we can have an answer.

Speaker A:

Understanding we can be strong until the very day of the return of Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

Philippians 1:6.

Speaker A:

For I am confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ.

Speaker A:

God doesn't give up on his kids.

Speaker A:

God doesn't give up on me.

Speaker A:

He could have had every right to.

Speaker A:

There's times I think maybe he should have.

Speaker A:

I was pretty bad.

Speaker A:

But he doesn't give up on me.

Speaker A:

And he doesn't quit on me.

Speaker A:

Oh, I know there's people that do that.

Speaker A:

There's nothing weird about that.

Speaker A:

People give up on one another all the time.

Speaker A:

But God doesn't give up on me.

Speaker A:

He doesn't quit on me.

Speaker A:

And he doesn't give up on you.

Speaker A:

And he doesn't quit on you.

Speaker A:

He doesn't pack his bags and go somewhere and say, I'm done.

Speaker A:

He takes a part of himself and puts it inside of you.

Speaker A:

That's why you are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

And Paul says, by the Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

Paul writes, I am confident of this very thing, and you and I need to move from a gee, I wonder to a confident, confident of this thing.

Speaker A:

He who started this thing in me, he's going to keep it going because we're going to spend eternity together.

Speaker A:

And he made a commitment to me.

Speaker A:

I try to do my best to have a reciprocal response to the Lord, but my commitment to the Lord falls way short to his commitment to me.

Speaker A:

Do you understand that difference?

Speaker A:

1 Corinthians 1:7 8.

Speaker A:

Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

Verse 8.

Speaker A:

He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

Speaker A:

He will keep you strong to the end.

Speaker A:

A commitment that God makes is not only to keep working on you, he's going to keep you propped up.

Speaker A:

He's going to keep you going.

Speaker A:

You're going to be Free from all blame.

Speaker A:

On the day that Jesus comes back, it's going to be over.

Speaker A:

If it's corporately awesome, if it's individually awesome, you are going to be free from blame because God is going to keep you strong.

Speaker A:

And what the enemy says is, I don't know.

Speaker A:

Did God really say.

Speaker A:

Yes, God really said it.

Speaker A:

The idea behind this is for you and I to have a confidence in the faithfulness of God.

Speaker A:

That is what I want you to get.

Speaker A:

I want you to see.

Speaker A:

We are supposed to have faith when we pray, right?

Speaker A:

You're supposed to have what we call situational faith.

Speaker A:

You have a circumstance, you're praying about it, right?

Speaker A:

You're connecting, you're doing this, you're doing whatever.

Speaker A:

But we need to have not just faith for our situation, but we need to have faith in our relationships and in our relationship with God.

Speaker A:

There has to be a level that is exercised that says faith.

Speaker A:

Do you have faith that God is who he says he is?

Speaker A:

It's only Satan that's trying to get that changed.

Speaker A:

Look at these.

Speaker A:

So small verses, but so powerful, especially when you put them together.

Speaker A:

I'm confident of this very thing that he will begin a good work.

Speaker A:

You will perfect in the day of Christ.

Speaker A:

God is not going to quit on you.

Speaker A:

That is the truth.

Speaker A:

And you shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Speaker A:

You get that?

Speaker A:

Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

First Corinthians 17, 8.

Speaker A:

He will keep you strong to the end, so you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

Speaker A:

Two things there.

Speaker A:

One, the return.

Speaker A:

And two, God is going to keep you strong.

Speaker A:

You get that?

Speaker A:

I just want to make sure you get that right.

Speaker A:

All right, so we've got less than a minute left.

Speaker A:

And I just want to make sure, you know, we got to give you the answer to the trivia question.

Speaker A:

Very straightforward show.

Speaker C:

Was going to answer it, but if it's too late, oh, no.

Speaker A:

He could give him 30 seconds, tell him in and out.

Speaker A:

Go, go.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

Go.

Speaker F:

I'm in.

Speaker A:

Okay, who was it who the Lord rebuked out of the whirlwind?

Speaker F:

Was it Job?

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

Amando, sir.

Speaker A:

Oh, wow.

Speaker A:

What a guess.

Speaker A:

Excellent guess.

Speaker A:

Job 38.

Speaker A:

One rebuked him out of the whirlwind.

Speaker A:

I think if God rebukes out of the whirlwind, you're probably listening.

Speaker A:

I think.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah, I go.

Speaker A:

I go with it.

Speaker F:

Right along with the writing on the wall.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's exactly right.

Speaker A:

Excellent job, my brother.

Speaker A:

Have a phenomenal weekend.

Speaker F:

I will do you do the same.

Speaker F:

Both of you guys, thank you so much.

Speaker A:

God bless you, bro.

Speaker A:

Bye bye.

Speaker F:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

Bye.

Speaker A:

All right, ladies and gentlemen, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KWAM 770, the truce station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

72 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

More insanity.

Speaker A:

Was Spoonanity talk to you then the.

Profile picture for David Spoon

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
