03-03-2025 part 1: Exploring the Holy Spirit's Essential Role in Christian Salvation
The salient focus of this podcast episode revolves around elucidating the pivotal role of the Holy Spirit in the process of salvation. Dr. David Spoon articulates how the Holy Spirit is integral to both the regeneration and renewal of believers, emphasizing that salvation is not attained through human merit, but rather through divine mercy and grace. This discourse unravels the complexities of theological concepts such as the washing of regeneration and the continual renewal by the Holy Spirit, underscoring the necessity of the Holy Spirit in the believer's journey. Furthermore, Dr. Spoon underscores that true salvation encompasses the active participation of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, thereby inviting listeners to reflect on the profound implications of this triune involvement in their spiritual lives. Ultimately, this exploration seeks to deepen our understanding of how the Holy Spirit not only initiates but also sustains our salvation and relationship with God.
In this enlightening episode, I embark on a profound exploration of the themes of faith, mercy, and communal support through prayer. I articulate the vital significance of having a community of believers who engage in prayerful advocacy for one another. This concept is beautifully illustrated by the narrative of Christ's crucifixion, wherein His initial utterance from the cross underscores the theme of mercy—an invitation for listeners to reflect on their own practice of forgiveness. Furthermore, I delve into theological discussions surrounding the book of Titus, emphasizing the essential role of the Holy Spirit in the process of regeneration and renewal. This segment encourages listeners to contemplate the multifaceted nature of salvation as a divine gift, rather than a human achievement. The episode culminates in an interactive segment that fosters community engagement through trivia and personal stories, allowing the audience to actively participate in the ongoing dialogue of faith.

Speaker A:Hello, everybody.
Speaker A:When it's cold outside, I've got.
Speaker A:Here's what's coming up on today's experience.
Speaker A:It's Dr.
Speaker A:Dave's.
Speaker A:Dr.
Speaker A:Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DDDDDDS, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.
Speaker A:Sound effects plays throughout the show which have nothing to do with life, but the Bible teaches in Ecclesiastes 3, 4, there's a time to laugh.
Speaker A:The review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.
Speaker A:You gotta be able to figure that one out.
Speaker A:Life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't.
Speaker A:If we sit on our blessed assurance humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?
Speaker A:Because God gave me another four weeks, that's why.
Speaker A:Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
Speaker A:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.
Speaker A:My name is Dr.
Speaker A:David Spoon.
Speaker A:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
Speaker A:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
Speaker A:Here is the key to the show.
Speaker A:We don't know what we're doing.
Speaker A:We have no idea what's gonna happen, and we don't care.
Speaker A:But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk faith with you.
Speaker A:So here we go.
Speaker A:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Speaker A:That thing right there.
Speaker A:And on Mondays, the way we start the week off is simply this way.
Speaker A:We have people in this audience that listen from all over the United States and different countries.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:It's like you're international.
Speaker A:Yeah, a little bit.
Speaker A:And the bottom line is they are the most faithful, diligent, wonderful people, brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Speaker A:And they pray for other people.
Speaker A:They are the prayer warriors.
Speaker A:So we make it this simple.
Speaker A:What can our audience prayer warriors pray for you about?
Speaker A:What can our prayer warriors pray for you about?
Speaker A:There you go.
Speaker A:If you have a response to that or you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a separate question, please don't let it die of loneliness.
Speaker A:Just reach out and give us a call.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Talking to Jammin Jacob, that's like heading into the week with great faith and expectation.
Speaker A:Thank you, David.
Speaker A:Happy Monday.
Speaker A:Happy Monday to you, my friend.
Speaker A:We are heading into the week with great faith and expectation.
Speaker A:We're not running away from it.
Speaker A:We don't say Monday is the dumb day.
Speaker A:We say Monday is the fun day.
Speaker A:Monday, Funday.
Speaker A:Monday Funday.
Speaker A:We get it rolling.
Speaker A:We get our brains and our hearts aligned correctly so that we can face the things we need to face with great faith and expectation.
Speaker A:Because our God is generous.
Speaker A:That's why.
Speaker A:Very simple.
Speaker A:Now, look, if you want to call us, I've told you how.
Speaker A:It's a telephone.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A:By the way, you can also text us.
Speaker A:That number is different.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: That's: Speaker A:8483.
Speaker A:So some people, they really like these numbers fast so that we can get to the content.
Speaker A:Okay, fine.
Speaker A:I'm going to give you the text number again.
Speaker A:Are you ready?
Speaker A:You want to hear it again?
Speaker A:Okay, so there it is.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Additionally, you can send an email.
Speaker A:So we do different ways of contact.
Speaker A:We tried to do the paper airplane thing.
Speaker A:It just doesn't seem like anybody can get the airplane from their house to the studio through the studio doors.
Speaker A:So that's really not been that successful.
Speaker A:But you can try.
Speaker A:Email davidmustincrease.org David, that's my name with the circle.
Speaker A:He must increase from John 3:30.
Speaker A:He must increase.
Speaker A:I must decrease.org because we're a nonprofit corporation.
Speaker A:So you can reach out to us by phone, by text, by email.
Speaker A:Why would you do that?
Speaker A:Maybe you've got a praise report.
Speaker A:Has the Lord done something for you?
Speaker A:Phenomenal answer to prayer.
Speaker A:Blessings, protection.
Speaker A:Got you through something you weren't sure you were gonna get through.
Speaker A:It doesn't have to be the sea splitting.
Speaker A:It doesn't have to be the earth stopping in its rotation and nothing moves.
Speaker A:It can be something that you needed that the Lord did.
Speaker A:That's a testimony.
Speaker A:That's a praise report.
Speaker A:And if the Lord's done that, well, by golly, share it.
Speaker A:Because Isaiah 43:7 says, we were created for the glory of the Lord, and in that glory, giving.
Speaker A:When we share a testimony or praise report, we honor God with what we share.
Speaker A:Other people, by the way, get blessed and it gets reinforced in your own life.
Speaker A:And maybe, just like we said, maybe you've got a prayer request.
Speaker A:We're here for that.
Speaker A:We think it's important.
Speaker A:It's amazing how many times prayer requests turn into praise reports.
Speaker A:It's phenomenal.
Speaker A:If you want to see the hand of God, we are the people that do believe God answers prayers.
Speaker A:And again, for those that don't believe that God answers prayers, they don't get very many prayers answered, do they?
Speaker A:Because they don't pray.
Speaker A:That's pretty simple.
Speaker A:Additionally, maybe it's just something you've come across, something you just saw, something that just encouraged you.
Speaker A:The smallest of things.
Speaker A:Awesome.
Speaker A:We're not against politics, although politics is many and ticks are blood sucking insects.
Speaker A:We're not against it.
Speaker A:We're just more geared towards encouraging you to draw closer to the Lord.
Speaker A:Because of all the things that you tell me and all the wisdom that you can give me for all the science of man and the brilliance of all of the medicines and all of that stuff, nothing can make your life better like God.
Speaker A:And that's the answer to everything.
Speaker A:So we encourage that for you and that's what our show is all about.
Speaker A:Now we do have some people that we want to pray for that are having some health issues.
Speaker A:We're going to start off with praying for a couple of people.
Speaker A:We're going to pray for Angelina, we're going to be praying for Keith, Keith Oakley.
Speaker A:We're going to pray for JD who shared last week, and we're going to be praying for Papa.
Speaker A:These are people we're going to pray for as well as we're going to lift up Jeanette and as well as my wife Noelle, who's doing better but not quite where she needs to be, even though she has to be at work today.
Speaker A:So we're going to pray about that first.
Speaker A:Later on in the show we're going to pray for Joanne and her situations.
Speaker A:But right now we're going to pray for these people and health.
Speaker A:Why?
Speaker A:Because there is nobody like the creator of the human that can make the health like the creator of the human.
Speaker A:Get it?
Speaker A:Let's bring it to the Lord in prayer.
Speaker A:Father, we come before you right now in the name of Jesus and we just want to thank you and praise you.
Speaker A:Our Father, who art thou in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Speaker A:Glory, honor, respect, reverence, appreciation for all the awesome things that you have done, that you are doing and you will yet do for everything that was, is and will be be.
Speaker A:We thank you and Lord God, we lift up these people, we lift up Papa to you who's having some real Challenging things come back at him.
Speaker A:Jd, who's going through and facing through a skin cancer situation.
Speaker A:Keith Oakley, who's just not feeling it.
Speaker A:Lord, he needs some grace.
Speaker A:Angelina, who's been up and down and very difficult for Rosalind and Robert, and we pray that you would give them stamina.
Speaker A:And for Jeanette, our very own, she's just wonderful in her connection to us and we just ask you to bless her and bring healing into her body.
Speaker A:For my own wife, Lord, you know how I feel when she's not doing good.
Speaker A:I don't do good.
Speaker A:I ask you to heal her in the name of Jesus, by the power that comes from you, because you are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord God that heals.
Speaker A:And we ask you, Lord God, to touch these people from the power of your Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead.
Speaker A:We ask, Lord God, that you would pour your spirit into their bodies.
Speaker A: You tell us in Luke: Speaker A:When we ask for the Spirit, that's what we're doing.
Speaker A:We're doing it in the name of Jesus.
Speaker A:We don't have the worth, we don't have the value on our own, but in Jesus we have everything we need.
Speaker A:So we ask you to move upon these people in your grace and in your glory and touch their lives.
Speaker A:We lift them up to you right now with confidence in your generosity.
Speaker A:And again, we pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior.
Speaker A:Amen and amen right into the text we're going because I didn't get to finish this last Monday, so we are going to finish this somewhat today.
Speaker A:We are in Titus, we are in chapter three.
Speaker A:We pretty much put an end to it in chapter five simply by talking about the simplicity that we are not saved by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to his mercy.
Speaker A:Now, I know people want to think that they deserve it and nobody you know, when you get a paycheck, you work for that paycheck.
Speaker A:But in salvation, that is an amount that you cannot attain to no matter how many works you accomplish.
Speaker A:And in case you're wondering, I just thought I'd drop this little statistical truth.
Speaker A:Between your words, your actions and your thoughts, you probably sin about 15 to 20 times a day.
Speaker A:Something contrary to the Lord.
Speaker A:I just want to point out that over an 80 year period, considering accountability, might start at the age of 12 or 13, you've pretty much sinned 292,000 times.
Speaker A:Don't tell me you have 292,000 good works.
Speaker A:It's just stupid.
Speaker A:But what we do have is according to the mercy that is in Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:How much mercy is in there?
Speaker A:Pastor Norris at the church Noel and I went to yesterday, did such a great job talking about what Jesus.
Speaker A:This series is what Jesus said on the cross.
Speaker A:And he made an excellent point.
Speaker A:He just simply said the first thing Jesus said was, father, forgive them.
Speaker A:They know not what they do.
Speaker A:Wow, that's the mercy.
Speaker A:Through the crucifixion, through the beating.
Speaker A:Beaten down so bad he couldn't even carry his own cross.
Speaker A:The first words uttered from the cross, father forgive.
Speaker A:That's mercy, folks.
Speaker A:That is mercy.
Speaker A:Some people have a hard time receiving mercy.
Speaker A:You know that, right?
Speaker A:You're thinking, well, what do you mean?
Speaker A:Well, It's Hebrews, chapter 4, verse 16.
Speaker A:We come with confidence to the throne of grace, to receive mercy and to find grace in our time of need again.
Speaker A:I know that Eric likes this story.
Speaker A:It's one of my favorite stories.
Speaker A:The pastor teaching about how he had this dream, and it was honey was being poured out from the heavens and landing on people.
Speaker A:And some people were looking at the honey, and they were looking at it, and it was so good.
Speaker A:Oh, it's good.
Speaker A:And other people were looking at it, trying to figure it out.
Speaker A:And then there's another group.
Speaker A:People are like, ooh, what is it?
Speaker A:What is it?
Speaker A:And when the pastor pursued the Lord, the Lord told him, that's my mercy.
Speaker A:Some people love it, some people try to analyze it, some people reject it, but that mercy saves us.
Speaker A:And then the next part of the verse says this, which is somehow we miss through the washing of regeneration and the renewal by the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:You know, that's the rest of verse five.
Speaker A:Uh oh, sounds like Dave might go off on a little theological tangent.
Speaker A:Uh oh, you'd be right.
Speaker A:Here it is.
Speaker A:It's not by works of righteousness we have done.
Speaker A:What do we know about our works of righteousness?
Speaker A:There is filthy rags before the eyes of God.
Speaker A:What do we know about the mercy?
Speaker A:Even on the cross, Jesus extends mercy to us.
Speaker A:He's a better savior than you are a sinner, right?
Speaker A:This happens through the washing of regeneration.
Speaker A:What is the washing of regeneration?
Speaker A:What does that mean?
Speaker A:To regenerate.
Speaker A:I'll help you out.
Speaker A:Are you born again?
Speaker A:That's regeneration, being born again.
Speaker A:Hey, how is it that you're born again?
Speaker A:Do you just put on different clothes or.
Speaker A:Or is it by the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus made the entire discussion of John chapter three about that it is through the born again by the spirit of God that you are simply washed of the regeneration.
Speaker A:You've been regenerated, made new, a new being through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Isn't that cool?
Speaker A:That's totally cool.
Speaker A:Why is that important?
Speaker A:I need you to understand this because it's important.
Speaker A:Because the Holy Spirit's not a power force.
Speaker A:People are like, the Holy Spirit's just the energy.
Speaker A:Really?
Speaker A:Because in Acts, chapter five, it says that Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:And the last time I looked, I couldn't look at my electricity in my house and go, man, you're looking smooth today.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:You can't lie to energy, but you can lie to the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit is a being, a personage.
Speaker A:And so it says, not by works as righteousness that we have done, but according to his mercy, through the washing of regeneration.
Speaker A:Without that washing of regeneration, you know what happens?
Speaker A:You never get to go.
Speaker A:Yes, Lord.
Speaker A:It's what reanimates you.
Speaker A:That's why they do the Frankenstein movies, for crying out loud.
Speaker A:The reanimation.
Speaker A:But it's taken place for us in the realm of the Spirit by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Then it says this.
Speaker A:You're not done yet.
Speaker A:The washing of regeneration and the renewal by the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:What's renewal?
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:Every year do you renew your tags on your car?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:That's renewal.
Speaker A:So not only do we get born again, and that's through the Holy Spirit poured upon us.
Speaker A:What?
Speaker A:By the righteous work of Jesus Christ, the mercy of Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:Then alongside of that, we go through the renewal process.
Speaker A:Which is why Ephesians 5:18 says, Be filled with the Spirit.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit's poured out on you at salvation.
Speaker A:Zero question there.
Speaker A:Cause you don't get part, you get all of God.
Speaker A:But we also need to maintain a fellowship with the Holy Spirit, a filling with the Holy Spirit, a renewal of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:And that's what the renewal by the Holy Spirit means.
Speaker A:What does all that have to do with any of this?
Speaker A:It's this simple.
Speaker A:Our salvation deeply involves, at every level, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, from start to the middle to the end.
Speaker A:Because salvation is a gift from God Almighty.
Speaker A:So we should be thank you, Father, thank you, Son, and thank you, Holy Spirit, who are all involved in our salvation every step of the way.
Speaker A:Get it?
Speaker A:That's what we're talking about when we're talking about washing of regeneration and the renewal of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Verse 6.
Speaker A:He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Speaker A:It all comes through Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:It all comes through the plan of the Father, through the Son, and by the Spirit.
Speaker A:Boy, if we could just figure that out, we would do so much better.
Speaker A:But then we get to fully understand why we're not supposed to grieve the Holy Spirit, not just quench the quench.
Speaker A:Well, that's different.
Speaker A:Don't quench and don't grieve.
Speaker A:Ephesians 4:30 on the grieving.
Speaker A:First Thessalonians 5:19 on the quenching.
Speaker A:What's quenching?
Speaker A:Cut it off.
Speaker A:What's grieving to make sad?
Speaker A:Not a power force.
Speaker A:It's a being.
Speaker A:This is how God manifests himself to us so we can get a handle.
Speaker A:He's operating on us in things we do not know, in ways we do not know, all so that we can know Him.
Speaker A:It's amazing.
Speaker A:All right, take a deep breath.
Speaker A:Okay, here's your trivia question.
Speaker A:Who, with his 318 servants of his family, defeated the captors of Sodom and Gomorrah?
Speaker A:Who, with 318 of his servants, defeated the captors of Sodom and Gomorrah?
Speaker A:Your answer.
Speaker A:Genesis 14.
Speaker A:14, 15.
Speaker A:Who, with 318 of his servants, defeated the captors of Sodom and Gomorrah?
Speaker A:The people that robbed them?
Speaker A:Who did that?
Speaker A:Who beat them?
Speaker A:Genesis, chapter 14, verses 14 through 15.
Speaker A:If you think you know, nice job, Joanne.
Speaker A:If you think you know, you can reach out to us.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You can also text Interesting.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Or you can send an email.
Speaker A:Davidemustincrease.org the question who, with 318 of his servants, defeated the captors, the people that took him as slaves, Sodom and Gomorrah.
Speaker A:Who defeated those people and got them all relieved, brought them back.
Speaker A:We've been teaching about it.
Speaker A:Kind of hope, you know.
Speaker A:Genesis, chapter 14, verses 14 through 15.
Speaker A:In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.
Speaker A:And the reason that we do that is very simple.
Speaker A:We exist by the donations of the people that listen to the show.
Speaker A:And, man, did you guys come through last week and we were able to pay the radio rent.
Speaker A:Thank you.
Speaker A:And we ask you to keep that going as best you can, because that's how we keep it going.
Speaker A:We keep doing the show.
Speaker A:By that.
Speaker A:So we're asking for your help on a regular basis.
Speaker A:And thank you because we did have as many as eight new people give.
Speaker A:And that's what we need.
Speaker A:We need new people giving and the same people giving and just all of us to do it together so we can enjoy the ministry together.
Speaker A:Check out on the website.
Speaker A:Here's our verse, by the way, today, and I do want to make sure, and I always make a point of this.
Speaker A:2nd Corinthians 9, 6, 7 whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly.
Speaker A:Whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully.
Speaker A:Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion.
Speaker A:For God loves a cheerful giver.
Speaker A:I have a lot of problems with ministers who do the force the compulsion or force the.
Speaker A:You know, they get people to give them in a manipulation fashion, saying, God will curse you if you don't give.
Speaker A:Really?
Speaker A:I thought Jesus was the end of the curse.
Speaker A:Guess they probably don't count that particular one then, do they?
Speaker A:Give if the Lord blesses you, enables you, or encourages you, or tells you to.
Speaker A:And if not, pray for us because we need your help.
Speaker A:Check it out on the website.

Speaker A:Almond Joy's got nuts.
Speaker A:Mounds don't.
Speaker A:I just love that.
Speaker A:I just.
Speaker A:It's what I love about some of the stuff that we play is okay.
Speaker A:Some of it's not all encouraging.
Speaker A:Like, the shark one's not really encouraged.
Speaker A:The shark one.
Speaker A:The Jaws theme.
Speaker A:Yeah, the Jaws thing.
Speaker A:But that's like, so.
Speaker A:Isn't that so, like, bouncy and alive?
Speaker A:And sometimes I feel like just like, so happy.
Speaker A:My favorite is still the.
Speaker A:The circus music, but the.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:This one's up there.
Speaker A:The joy.
Speaker A:It's definitely up at the top.
Speaker A:It's definitely a good one.
Speaker A:All right, so here's the trivia question.
Speaker A:See if you guys can get to this.
Speaker A:Here we go.
Speaker A:It's pretty simple.
Speaker A:Who, with 318 of his servants, defeated the captors of Sodom and Gomorrah?
Speaker A:A big hint here would be they rescued all the people, including lot.
Speaker A:Genesis 14, 14, 15.
Speaker A:If you think, you know, reach out to us.
Speaker A: ,: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Additionally, you can send an email davidemustincrease.org I really did like that discussion we just had.
Speaker A:Just to be honest about the effectiveness of the washing of regeneration, your rebirth into the kingdom of God, and the renewal by the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Both of these activities by the Holy Spirit are part of the functionality.
Speaker A:And what I love is that people don't realize that you need God's help just to say, yes.
Speaker A:Oh, I know we make that decision and it's part of it, but if God didn't pull you towards him, it would never happen.
Speaker A:And then people are like, well, what about free will?
Speaker A:And what about predestination?
Speaker A:And what about this?
Speaker A:And what about this?
Speaker A:It's again, it's like peanut butter and jelly.
Speaker A:You need both to make the sandwich.
Speaker A:And people don't recognize that you have free will as far as you're concerned.
Speaker A:But because the Lord is omniscient, he knows every decision that's going to be made.
Speaker A:You can't take that from Him.
Speaker A:And so the idea behind this is to understand that you are still responsible for your decisions.
Speaker A:It's just that God knows your decisions, but you still make them.
Speaker A:So watch that.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:It's both sides.
Speaker A:That's why in Timothy it says this.
Speaker A:It says this, the Lord knows those that are His.
Speaker A:And this is the same verse.
Speaker A:And let everybody who calls on the name of the Lord.
Speaker A:In other words, we have a requirement to call on the name of the Lord, but He knows everybody.
Speaker A:That's His.
Speaker A:And that's in one verse.
Speaker A:That shows you it's two sides of the coin, heads and tail, so to speak.
Speaker A:And since he's the heads, we'll say his part's the head and our part's the tail.
Speaker A:We'll just say that that's just a nicer thing to say.
Speaker A:All right, and then that next part of the verse, he says this in verse six, it says, he poured out his spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Speaker A:We get from God all that we need through Jesus, and what Jesus promised us is his help after his ascension.
Speaker A:If you not read Acts chapter one, you ought to, because it makes it a big, abundantly clear.
Speaker A:Now I have a minute and a half left.
Speaker A:Is that something we want to try?
Speaker A:I think that could be a tough answer to the trivia question.
Speaker A:Wait and see what Jacob says.
Speaker A:I don't know if we can pull that off yet.
Speaker A:So here's what we're going to do.
Speaker A:I'm going to see what he does.
Speaker A:See, this is me stalling on the radio.
Speaker A:People try and make things up.
Speaker A:No, I'm stalling.
Speaker A:This is what I'm doing.
Speaker A:So bottom line is I haven't read his signal yet and we're only 45 seconds away.
Speaker A:So what do you want to do?
Speaker A:You want to try and get that person on?
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:I told him to make it quick.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:All right, send that person through.
Speaker A:Knock, knock.
Speaker A:This is David.
Speaker A:Who am I talking to?
Speaker A:It's Shel.
Speaker A:Hi, Shel.
Speaker A:All right, my brother.
Speaker A:Here's your question.
Speaker A:Straightforward.
Speaker A:Who rescued who?
Speaker A:Was it Abram?
Speaker A:Abram is the correct answer.
Speaker A:Not Abraham.
Speaker A:Abram.
Speaker A:Abram.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:I always do that, though.
Speaker A:I call him Abraham because I'm so used to it.
Speaker A:But this whole first section of what we do today, it's all Abram until his name is changed and then it's Abraham.
Speaker A:That is correct, Amundo.
Speaker A:But you are correct on the trivia question, sir, and you are brilliant by doing it.
Speaker A:Thank you very much.
Speaker A:Thank you, brother.
Speaker A:Love you and the Lord love you too, brother.
Speaker A:You have a great day.
Speaker A:Have a great show.
Speaker A:God bless.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Excellent job by Shel.
Speaker A:Yay.
Speaker A:All right, here's what we're gonna do.
Speaker A:We're gonna take a break and then come back.
Speaker A:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Short break.
Speaker A:Don't go anywhere.
Speaker A:Like any person searching for answers, I too have wondered about him.
Speaker A:He has a weird sense of humor.
Speaker A:If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?
Speaker A:No, I don't think so.
Speaker A:Those big ears really don't help.
Speaker A:Will people enjoy his perspective on culture, politics, food, sports, and local and national news?
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:He's just a client.
Speaker A:Tune in to the David Spoon Experience on kaam.
Speaker A:What is the David Spoon Experience?
Speaker A:Bibles are very cool looking.
Speaker A:You can have them electronically.
Speaker A:You can have them in your phone, you can have them in your computer.
Speaker A:There's tons of apps.
Speaker A:There's also cool looking book bibles.
Speaker A:I mean, there's a lot of stuff out there.
Speaker A:It's great.
Speaker A:Here's the bottom line.
Speaker A:All that's fancy and fantastic and useless if you don't read it and believe it and process it.
Speaker A:For those that are trying to figure out, first of all, well, why is it that the Bible is its own unique enemy?
Speaker A:What's the deal in that?
Speaker A:Well, the same breath that went into creating Adam, which was creating creation of man, that same breath went into the bible.
Speaker A:And so 2 Timothy 3:16 says, all scripture is God breathed.
Speaker A:That's the breath of God.
Speaker A:And the breath of God that went into Adam is the breath of God that goes into the book.
Speaker A:Which is why this is a unique book.
Speaker A:And then people get really upset and they go, well, hold on now, hold on now, Dave.
Speaker A:The problem there is that there's just so many people that have been a part of writing the Bible.
Speaker A:In fact, there's about 40 authors spanning about 3,000 years in all different types of positions in life.
Speaker A:But here's the great thing about Christian faith.
Speaker A:If you believe that God created the universe, you're going to step out on that big ledge and go, well, if he created the universe, he can probably write a book.
Speaker A:Well, the amazing part about the book itself is not just the self proclamations of the book, but you get into the prophecies and it's an amazing, amazing element that every single prophecy has been fulfilled.
Speaker A:Exactly.
Speaker A:And yet there are some to come and we will see those fulfilled.
Speaker A:But while you're engaging in the Word of God, here's something you need to be aware of that Christians do not recognize, that that word where it says for the word of God is alive is zone in the Greek.
Speaker A:If we were doing a Greek word, that'd be zone.
Speaker A:And that word means alive to live.
Speaker A:Jesus used that word in Revelation 1:18 when he says, behold, I am alive, life and I live forevermore, same word, and the Word of God is alive.
Speaker A:And you think this is just a book.
Speaker A:It is just a book, except for when you're reading the Word of God and the Holy Spirit connects you to the Word of God, it becomes something altogether different.
