02-28-2025 part 1: Anchored in Truth: The Imperative of Biblical Remembrance

The essential premise of this discourse is the imperative nature of being reminded of biblical truths as a cornerstone of our faith. I convey that, similar to the early church, we must consistently revisit the core tenets of the Gospel, for it is through such reminders that we maintain our connection to the divine. In the exploration of 2 Peter 1:12, I elucidate how the Apostle Peter emphasizes the necessity of reiteration, asserting that even those who are established in their faith require continual reminders of these foundational truths. This practice fortifies our spiritual resolve and ensures that we remain steadfast in our belief and understanding of God's promises. Ultimately, the reiteration of these biblical principles serves not only to reinforce our faith but also to propel us toward a deeper relationship with Christ.

The focal point of this episode centers on the profound inquiry of what God has been teaching individuals over the past week, a question posed by host Dr. David Spoon. This invitation to introspection encourages listeners to engage deeply with their spiritual journeys, fostering a culture of openness and reflection. The significance of sharing personal insights is highlighted, as it not only reinforces individual faith but also cultivates a communal atmosphere where believers can support and uplift one another through their experiences. Dr. Spoon's approach is characterized by sincerity and earnestness, urging the audience to recognize the importance of these reflections in glorifying God, as testimonies serve as powerful reminders of His faithfulness and goodness.

The episode further explores the scriptural foundation of these reflections through the lens of 2 Peter 1:12-15. Dr. Spoon explicates Peter's intention to consistently remind believers of the essential truths of the gospel, emphasizing that spiritual maturity involves continual reinforcement of foundational beliefs. The transient nature of life and the need for a robust anchor in the gospel are key themes, suggesting that believers must remain vigilant in their faith, regularly revisiting the core tenets of their beliefs. Dr. Spoon's discourse serves as a clarion call for listeners to remain steadfast in their commitment to Christ while actively participating in the collective journey of faith.

The interactive element of the episode, where audience members are encouraged to call in and share their thoughts and prayer requests, enhances the overall experience. This dialogue creates a dynamic and engaging environment, allowing for a rich exchange of ideas and personal testimonies. Dr. Spoon facilitates this interaction with a genuine desire to connect with his audience, fostering a sense of belonging and community. The inclusion of trivia questions and light-hearted discussions further contributes to an inviting atmosphere, encouraging listeners to feel comfortable in sharing their spiritual insights. Ultimately, this episode encapsulates the essence of the Christian experience—one that values personal reflection, communal support, and the continual reminder of God's teachings in everyday life.

Speaker B:

Sound effects placed throughout the show which have nothing to do with life, but we downloaded them for free and they're the best we can do.

Speaker B:

And remember, there's a time to laugh.

Speaker B:

The review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.

Speaker B:

I think pretty much most people can figure that one out.

Speaker B:

Life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?

Speaker B:

I'll tell you why right now.

Speaker B:

Because we made Radio Rent.

Speaker B:

Praise the Lord.

Speaker B:

There you go.

Speaker B:

Excellente.

Speaker B:

Just remember, we made Radio Rent.

Oh.

Speaker B:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, Local, national and heavenly talk.

Speaker B:

My name is Dr.

Speaker B:

David Spoon.

Speaker B:

I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.

Speaker B:

Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.

Speaker B:

Here is the key to the show.

Speaker B:

We don't know what we're doing.

Speaker B:

We have no idea what's going to happen.

Speaker B:

We don't care.

Speaker B:

But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk Jesus with you.

Speaker B:

So here we go.

Speaker B:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

Speaker B:

That thingy there.

Speaker B:

And we're settling into our questions on Friday.

Speaker B:

And I really like this one.

Speaker B:

Here's the question.

Speaker B:

I want you to think it through.

Speaker B:

You don't have to directly answer, but you're welcome to.

Speaker B:

What has God been teaching you this week?

Speaker B:

This week?

Speaker B:

What has God been teaching you?

Speaker B:

What's he been showing you?

Speaker B:

What's he been revealing to you?

Speaker B:

What has God been teaching you this week?

Speaker B:

It might be the same thing as last week.

Speaker B:

It might be something different.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

You do.

Speaker B:

What has God been teaching you this week?

Speaker B:

If you have a response to that, an opinion, a comment, a thought or a question, please don't let it die of loneliness.

Speaker B:

Just reach out and give us a call.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

Well, by golly, you'll end up talking to Jamming.

Speaker B:

That's right.

Speaker B:

Talking to Jam and Jacob.

Speaker B:

Now get this.

Speaker B:

This is gonna be so good.

Speaker B:

Talking to Jam and Jacob, right, is like a peaceful day and evening with no drama.

Speaker B:

Thank you, David.

Speaker B:

Happy Friday.

Speaker B:

Happy Friday to you, my friend.

Speaker B:

Good news.

Speaker B:

We were able to make Radio rent.

Speaker B:

The people have Stepp.

Speaker B:

Now, Katra and I happen to like Elon Musk, but I just disagree.

Speaker B:

He says the voice of the people is the voice of God.

Speaker B:

That's incorrect.

Speaker B:

The voice of God is the voice of the people.

Speaker B:

The other way around.

Speaker B:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

And so we just thank the Lord for his goodness in that.

Speaker B:

So you guys are stuck with me for another month anyway.

Speaker B:

All right, so we've got that taken care of, and we want people to be aware of that, and we rejoice in that.

Speaker B:

That's definitely a thing to celebrate.

Speaker B:

Additionally, by the way, if you feel like you want to call us or you can also text, because some people really like that.

Speaker B:

It's very comfortable for them.

Speaker B:

It's not a problem.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

That number is the ministry number.

Speaker B:

But during the show, it's only four texts.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Making that as clear as I can.

Speaker B:

Additionally, you can send an email.

Speaker B:

David, because that's my name.

Speaker B:

That's what named me at birth.

Speaker B:

No, I wasn't named after a king.

Speaker B:

Sorry, it was some other relative.

Speaker B:

Anyway, David at a.

Speaker B:

With a circle.

Speaker B:

He must increase from John 3, 30.

Speaker B:

He must increase, I must decrease.

Speaker B:

That's what we're all about.org because we're a nonprofit corporation.

Speaker B:

That's just that simple.

Speaker B:

So you can call us, you can text us, you can email us.

Speaker B:

Why would you do that?

Speaker B:

Simple.

Speaker B:

You might have appraisement or something.

Speaker B:

We just shared with you.

Speaker B:

Appraise report.

Speaker B:

Yeah, we paid radio rent.

Speaker B:

That's phenomenal.

Speaker B:

You may have a testimony of something you wanted to share.

Speaker B:

The Lord's blessed you, and this really blesses me.

Speaker B:

I just want to thank the Lord for it.

Speaker B:

Awesome sauce.

Speaker B:

Bring it.

Speaker B:

Here's your opportunity.

Speaker B:

Here's your venue to share, to give honor.

Speaker B:

And when you do share a testimony, I want to point this out.

Speaker B:

Not only does it bless other people, not only does it reinforce in your own life, but it honors God.

Speaker B:

It brings glory to God.

Speaker B:

And Isaiah 43.

Speaker B:

7 says that we were created to bring glory to God.

Speaker B:

So it kind of fits, if you catch my drift.

Speaker B:

Get that.

Speaker B:

All right, so you can share that.

Speaker B:

Maybe it's a prayer request.

Speaker B:

One of the things that we love is this answered prayer.

Speaker B:

Jesus said, ask and you will receive that your joy may be full.

Speaker B:

Now, joy comes from the presence of the Lord.

Speaker B:

That's the primary place.

Speaker B:

In fact, it's in Psalm 16 where David says, in your presence is the fullness of joy.

Speaker B:

But there are other elements to joy.

Speaker B:

There are joy.

Speaker B:

There's joy that comes from the Holy Spirit as one of the fruits.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

There is also joy in answered prayers.

Speaker B:

Answered prayers glorify God.

Speaker B:

I don't know if you kind of cut that or not, but it's important to recognize that.

Speaker B:

And there's a joy component that goes with it.

Speaker B:

Because when God answers your prayers, don't tell me you're not doing the little two step dance.

Speaker B:

Woo hoo.

Speaker B:

Right?

Speaker B:

I love that, that old line, I'm in touch with the supernatural.

Speaker B:

I mean, it's funny.

Speaker B:

And the idea behind that is to understand that God's connecting with his people.

Speaker B:

If you have a prayer request, whether it's something really difficult or really good, that's not the issue.

Speaker B:

Jesus didn't say, well, only ask if it's lousy.

Speaker B:

Jesus didn't say that.

Speaker B:

He said, ask and you'll receive.

Speaker B:

That's what he said.

Speaker B:

So you pray about all those things.

Speaker B:

We also just want people to have that opportunity.

Speaker B:

Maybe you drove by something and just.

Speaker B:

It just gave you insight.

Speaker B:

You saw something, you heard something, you came across something great.

Speaker B:

Sure, we think it's cool.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

A couple of ground rules.

Speaker B:

Something I'm gonna change just a little bit.

Speaker B:

Number one, we have told you all along, the entire time this show has been on the air, no matter what the case may be, you don't have to agree with me on everything I share or say.

Speaker B:

What I want you to do is use everything and anything you can to help you draw closer to the Lord.

Speaker B:

That's what I want.

Speaker B:

You might have a different eschatology.

Speaker B:

Awesome.

Speaker B:

Mine is a manifold millennial position, which means that I do a blend.

Speaker B:

I like it.

Speaker B:

I like.

Speaker B:

That's what I like.

Speaker B:

You don't have to agree with that.

Speaker B:

That's not a big deal for you to enjoy the show.

Speaker B:

What the whole point Is.

Speaker B:

Is for you to get something from the show, some form of fellowship or some kind of encouragement that can help you take one step closer to Jesus.

Speaker B:

That's it.

Speaker B:

That's all it is.

Speaker B:

So I want you to be aware of that.

Speaker B:

So it's okay.

Speaker B:

We strongly understand Romans 14, where it's not up to us to judge another man's servant, because to his own master, he can stand or fall, and he will stand, for God is able to make him stand.

Speaker B:

By the way, that's in Romans 14.

Speaker B:

Also, we're gonna change one thing on our buddy list.

Speaker B:

So we've been doing buddies by month.

Speaker B:

So we say March, buddy, April, buddy, so on and so forth.

Speaker B:

February, buddy.

Speaker B:

We're gonna change that to be a buddy.

Speaker B:

It's a bab.

Speaker B:

Be a buddy.

Speaker B:

And so it'll be just here on out, you're just gonna hear me say, be a buddy.

Speaker B:

And that just means that when somebody texts and we read it, or somebody calls in or we mention somebody and there's something that moves on you, we want you to mention that person before the Lord.

Speaker B:

Take them up.

Speaker B:

Now, what I don't want to do is say you have to do it for the whole month, but I want you to do it because then in the engagement you have with the Lord, between you and the Lord, you'll figure out that time frame.

Speaker B:

I want you to do that with him, not me telling you.

Speaker B:

Okay?

Speaker B:

So those are two major components.

Speaker B:

Plus, don't forget, like yesterday, JD called.

Speaker B:

We want to be praying for him.

Speaker B:

We want to be praying for Keith Oakley.

Speaker B:

We want to be praying for people who have struggles physically.

Speaker B:

We want to be praying for Jeanette as well as other people going through the different things they're going through, like Roger Again's wife and so on.

Speaker B:

So you want to be praying for these people, because that's a big part of our Christian walk.

Speaker B:

Okay, now, this is more.

Speaker B:

I don't know if it's more for me or not.

Speaker B:

It might be.

Speaker B:

I'll just say that we are in two Peter, we are in chapter one.

Speaker B:

We are at verse 12.

Speaker B:

So for those that are kind of new, we do books like Monday and Tuesday and half a Wednesday, and then Wednesday I do an old sermony kind of thing, and then Thursday we do books, and then Friday we do a book, and then I do some.

Speaker B:

Four short teachings in the last 60 minutes.

Speaker B:

So here is where we are.

Speaker B:

We're in 2 Peter 1:12.

Speaker B:

And I love this.

Speaker B:

So I might be on the soapbox for a little while on this one.

Speaker B:

It says this.

Speaker B:

Therefore, I will always remind you of these things.

Speaker B:

Now, wait a minute.

Speaker B:

Remember what we said about the word therefore?

Speaker B:

Therefore means that something preceding that was a point that he was making.

Speaker B:

Well, what was that preceding point that he was making?

Speaker B:

He said this.

Speaker B:

You will receive a lavish reception into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Speaker B:

So what Peter was talking about is us walking in a maturity way, making sure that we add to our faith.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

Add to our faith, virtue and knowledge, self control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, brotherly love.

Speaker B:

He goes, you do these things, you're never gonna stumble.

Speaker B:

And don't forget, you keep seeking it and making sure you're calling an election.

Speaker B:

Sure.

Speaker B:

Because if you operate in these things, you're going to get this lavish reception.

Speaker B:

Then he says this in verse 12.

Speaker B:

Therefore, I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have.

Speaker B:

I love this.

Speaker B:

I just love this stuff.

Speaker B:

So listen to what Peter's saying.

Speaker B:

He's like, look, I'm always going to remind you of these things.

Speaker B:

And why does Peter say that?

Speaker B:

Because guess what?

Speaker B:

We always need to be reminded.

Speaker B:

There are four Gospels.

Speaker B:

Why?

Speaker B:

Because we need them often and repetitively.

Speaker B:

Why?

Speaker B:

Here's why.

Speaker B:

I've tried to communicate this in the past.

Speaker B:

I know I've done a poor job.

Speaker B:

You'll have to forgive me.

Speaker B:

But in the early church, the early church evangelists did not hold tent meetings where the churches, when everybody were connected and they'd just bring in the unsaved to get them saved.

Speaker B:

That's not how evangelists operated in the first century.

Speaker B:

In the first century, the evangelists taught in the church.

Speaker B:

Why?

Speaker B:

To remind the church that the Gospel is at the core of our faith.

Speaker B:

That's why.

Speaker B:

And we can't afford at any point to be so mature in the Lord that we push past the gospel, which Paul said in First Corinthians 15, the gospel that has saved you and that keeps you.

Speaker B:

We need to be reminded.

Speaker B:

When people tell me, oh, it's the same old Easter message, I already know there's something wrong in their system.

Speaker B:

Because that same old Easter message is the cornerstone of our faith.

Speaker B:

It is the gospel.

Speaker B:

It is eternal life.

Speaker B:

It is the promises of God.

Speaker B:

And those early churches, they would get together and the evangelists would just pour it out and the people would be like, yes, yes.

Speaker B:

Because standing firm in the gospel is the way that we keep going.

Speaker B:

You think, well, what about, like, John 3:16?

Speaker B:

Perfect example.

Speaker B:

Thank you for God so loved the world.

Speaker B:

That he gave his only begotten Son, which I'm going to do a teaching on that in about four weeks.

Speaker B:

That whosoever should believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Speaker B:

It's the continual action of believing.

Speaker B:

You just got to keep believing, man.

Speaker B:

You don't say yes and then just go about other things.

Speaker B:

You keep staying right there.

Speaker B:

And that's what Peter's talking about.

Speaker B:

He's like, look, I'm always going to remind you of these things, even though you know them.

Speaker B:

Hey, you know what?

Speaker B:

You know the gospel, but you should hear it again and again and again.

Speaker B:

And he says this.

Speaker B:

After that, he goes, I'll always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have.

Speaker B:

He's not denying that they know.

Speaker B:

He's telling them.

Speaker B:

You need to hear it again and again.

Speaker B:

Peter is acknowledging that people already know these truths.

Speaker B:

He has no problem acknowledging that.

Speaker B:

People get it.

Speaker B:

You get it, I get it.

Speaker B:

We get it.

Speaker B:

That's not the point.

Speaker B:

The point is that we need to be reminded that these are the truths that established us.

Speaker B:

Therefore, they're the truths that keep us, and we need to hang onto them.

Speaker B:

In fact, in verse 13, look what he says.

Speaker B:

He says this.

Speaker B:

I think it's right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of my body.

Speaker B:

He not only says, I'm gonna remind you.

Speaker B:

Cause you just need to be reminded.

Speaker B:

You need to know this.

Speaker B:

You need to be established in these truths.

Speaker B:

You need to have these established truths reiterated time and time again.

Speaker B:

And then he goes, therefore these truths, they keep us, these truths that we hang onto.

Speaker B:

And he's like, it's right for me to refresh your memory as long as I live in this tent.

Speaker B:

In other words, as long as he's alive, guess what he's going to do.

Speaker B:

Ready?

Speaker B:

You've seen this before.

Speaker B:

Rinse, lather, repeat.

Speaker B:

Rinse, lather, repeat.

Speaker B:

Why?

Speaker B:

Because that's what we need.

Speaker B:

We need to be reminded.

Speaker B:

You'll hear me say that, and I've been saying this for years.

Speaker B:

It's very important for you and I never to be so mature in Christ that we can just pass, go past these things.

Speaker B:

Oh, well, really, this is all about eternal life and eternity with God.

Speaker B:

That is the core of what we're doing, receiving the end of our faith.

Speaker B:

Peter says in 1 Peter 1, the salvation of our souls.

Speaker B:

That's the purpose of it.

Speaker B:

That salvation is the very thing, that helmet, that hope of salvation.

Speaker B:

You know what A helmet does.

Speaker B:

It protects your head not just from the rocks thrown at your head, which happens all the time, but it also keeps things intact between your left and right ear.

Speaker B:

What is it that keeps us intact between our left and right ear?

Speaker B:

The hope of eternal life.

Speaker B:

That we will spend eternity with God.

Speaker B:

And by the way, the eternity.

Speaker B:

That's awesome.

Speaker B:

Eye is not seen, neither has ear heard.

Speaker B:

Neither has entered into the hearts of God the things that neither has entered into the hearts of men.

Speaker B:

Sorry.

Speaker B:

The things that God has prepared for them.

Speaker B:

In other words, our brains can't even get it.

Speaker B:

Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, neither has entered into the hearts of men the things that God has prepared.

Speaker B:

This is what's coming, right?

Speaker B:

How did God do in seven days?

Speaker B:

Pretty good.

Speaker B:

Six days.

Speaker B:

Basically.

Speaker B:

Good, right?

Speaker B:

been working on our new house:

Speaker B:

That's right.

Speaker B:

It's going to be outstanding.

Speaker B:

That's what Peter wants to remind people of.

Speaker B:

Telling you.

Speaker B:

I'm going to remind you.

Speaker B:

I'm going to tell you again and again and again and again and again.

Speaker B:

I've told this joke 30 times.

Speaker B:

I don't care.

Speaker B:

Preacher comes in, preaches a revival, teaches on John 3:16, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night.

Speaker B:

The pastor goes, what are you gonna teach on John 3:16?

Speaker B:

The pastor goes, well, don't you think you should teach on something else?

Speaker B:

He goes, I'll teach on something else after your people get it right.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

All right, take a deep breath.

Speaker B:

Here we go.

Speaker B:

For your first trivia question, this is not a trick question.

Speaker B:

It is as simple as you think.

Speaker B:

The answer is, who is the first child mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker B:

Genesis 4.

Speaker B:

1.

Speaker B:

Who is the first child mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker B:

Genesis 4.

Speaker B:

1.

Speaker B:

If you think you know, you can reach out and call us.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

Or you can send an email.

Speaker B:

Davidemustincrease.org Very straightforward.

Speaker B:

Who is the first child mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker B:

Genesis chapter four.

Speaker B:

Now, I am going to send you up to the website.

Speaker B:

We did pay radio rent.

Speaker B:

Hallelujah.

Speaker B:

So we're very happy about that.

Speaker B:

But we do want you to be aware that we have ongoing scenarios.

Speaker B:

And yes, it's a little easier for me to breathe, but yes, it all is based on the audience and their donations.

Speaker B:

That's why we're a Non profit organization.

Speaker B:

Number one, we, we don't have a profit in here and number two, we don't make a profit.

Speaker B:

I just wanted to say that it's funny.

Speaker B:

So anyhow, bottom line is we depend on the giving of the listening audience 100% on donations and that's what we're looking for.

Speaker B:

If you haven't given, please pray about giving.

Speaker B:

If you've given before.

Speaker B:

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker B:

Just pray about what the Lord wants you to do.

Speaker B:

We don't want anybody to do something that's manipulative or.

Speaker B:

I just can't stand that stuff.

Speaker B:

I used to do investments.

Speaker B:

I hate that stuff.

Speaker B:

Hate it.

Speaker B:

Do it as unto the Lord because your heart has got the right spirit for giving.

Speaker B:

That's what we want you to do.

Speaker B:

Check it out on our website.

Speaker B:

By the way of a couple of new things I put up there.

Speaker B:

Check out the opportunity to give plus other things to bless you at.

Speaker B:

Hemustincrease.org Prayer request hemosincrease.org Praise report he mustincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.

Speaker B:

He mustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker B:

Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.oo Lego my eggo.

Speaker B:

You know why I always get the Eggo?

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

Cause you grab for the corners.

Speaker B:

See?

Speaker B:

No corners.

Speaker B:

Eggo waffles around.

Speaker B:

You see, I thought about this, about the Eggo waffles being round.

Speaker B:

I was asking Jam and Jacob about this.

Speaker B:

It's like, why did his brother give him the secret to getting the Eggo?

Speaker B:

Give them the.

Speaker B:

You don't get them because they don't have corners and they're around.

Speaker B:

I understand it's a marketing ploy and all that, but if you're the brother, why would you tell him?

Speaker B:

I would just go, yeah, too bad.

Speaker B:

I guess he just really wanted him to know.

Speaker B:

I guess it's got to be.

Speaker B:

I wouldn't have told him anyway.

Speaker B:

Who was the first child mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker B:

Genesis 4:1 is your reference point.

Speaker B:

So keep it easy.

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

-:

Speaker B:

Isn't this text just phenomenal?

Speaker B:

So here's Peter.

Speaker B:

Now this is 2 Peter.

Speaker B:

So you need to understand something.

Speaker B:

He wrote one epistle, he writes another epistle.

Speaker B:

This is the last big hurrah he's going to have.

Speaker B:

And look what he says in verse 13, 14.

Speaker B:

He goes, I think it's right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of my body.

Speaker B:

So he's like, I think this is the right thing to do as long as I'm alive.

Speaker B:

I want you to be aware of that.

Speaker B:

Now look what he says in verse 14.

Speaker B:

Because I know that this tent will soon be laid aside as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear, clear to me.

Speaker B:

Then verse 15.

Speaker B:

And I will make every effort to ensure that after my departure, you will be able to recall these things at all times.

Speaker B:

So here you get this little bit of personalization that's coming in from Peter, right in Paul's Epistles.

Speaker B:

You see, there's some churches he's really close to and some he's not as close to.

Speaker B:

And you can kind of detect that by the beginnings, by how he talks or how he writes.

Speaker B:

Here Peter's telling them, look, I know my tent will be laid aside.

Speaker B:

As Jesus has made clear to me, his time was coming to a close and he knew it.

Speaker B:

This is why I tell everybody.

Speaker B:

I say the same thing to everybody.

Speaker B:

It's just the reality check.

Speaker B:

You don't know what the days are that God has for you that are numbered.

Speaker B:

But you're supposed to live in a very wise way.

Speaker B:

Your day could be up tomorrow.

Speaker B:

This is why you need to make the most of ministry, to make the most of laying up treasures in heaven.

Speaker B:

Once you pass, there's no more laying up treasures in heaven.

Speaker B:

Your investments for your futures are done.

Speaker B:

So you have this opportunity.

Speaker B:

And so, look, I know it's coming.

Speaker B:

I know my time is close and it's winding down.

Speaker B:

But remember, he's genuine faith in the goodness of God.

Speaker B:

So he's like, you know, I just want to make sure that after I'm gone that you guys as my readers, you're going to be able to remember these things, these things that I've shared with you all of these times.

Speaker B:

I want you to know that after my departure, I want in my own heart to know that before I make this departure, I've given you everything I can give you to, to stay close to the Lord.

Speaker B:

And it is really for those that get it.

Speaker B:

Very, very poetic, very beautiful truth for all of us to seize upon.

Speaker B:

Because there's many of us that would like to have a good sit down with our siblings, our brothers, our sisters, our children, even our parents, and say, you know, I'm going To go the way that the Lord has made that people go because sin entered the world in the first place.

Speaker B:

But before I go, I want you to have this gift of understanding.

Speaker B:

Bam.

Speaker B:

It's about Jesus.

Speaker B:

Oh, I know.

Speaker B:

The world tries to make it something else.

Speaker B:

The world's in defiance against God.

Speaker B:

In fact, if you read 1 John 5, you find out that the world as the system of the world, the world is under the control of.

Speaker B:

Of Satan.

Speaker B:

It's under the control of the evil one.

Speaker B:

But we have overcome the world because greater is he than is us, than he that is in the world.

Speaker B:

Like, yeah, that's right.

Speaker B:

But Peter is charging.

Speaker B:

I don't call it a charge, but, boy, it is a mandate that he is establishing, saying, listen, you need to stay firm in the gospel truth, in the simplicity of the gospel.

Speaker B:

In fact, Paul wrote that he was concerned that people would be deceived and removed from the simplicity of the gospel.

Speaker B:

Because when you get into the weeds of things, that's not making you spiritually more astute.

Speaker B:

It's about Jesus and our connection to him.

Speaker B:

That's what it's about.

Speaker B:

And Peter's like, I'm going to remind you.

Speaker B:

I'm going to remind you.

Speaker B:

I'm going to remind you.

Speaker B:

I'm going to remind you, because we need that.

Speaker B:

Sometimes you'll hear me teach something repetitively.

Speaker B:

I know you guys have heard me.

Speaker B:

If you look at Jesus teachings over three years, there's a lot of repetition in the teaching, isn't there?

Speaker B:

There's a reason for that.

Speaker B:

We need it.

Speaker B:

That's why.

Speaker B:

That's it.

Speaker B:

Okay, cool.

Speaker B:

So when you hear a sermon you've heard before, don't be judging the person who's teaching it.

Speaker B:

Be aware there's purpose behind this.

Speaker B:

Okay, who was the first child mentioned in the Bible?

Speaker B:

According to Genesis 4:1, that would be Cain.

Speaker B:

A little walking stick for Adam from Eve.

Speaker B:

She gave him a little cane.

Speaker B:

That's nice.

Speaker B:

All right, we'll take a short break and then come back.

Speaker B:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker B:

Speaker B:

What is the David Spoon experience?

Speaker B:

Now I want to pull this out of Jude.

Speaker B:

Jude only has one chapter.

Speaker B:

Jude is the letter before the Book of Revelation.

Speaker B:

Revelation, singular.

Speaker B:

It's the last letter before the Book of Revelation.

Speaker B:

And this is what it says in verses 17 through 19.

Speaker B:

I want you to listen to this and then I want you to think about today, all the stuff that's going on.

Speaker B:

I'm not going to go overly political.

Speaker B:

I want you just to consider the landscaping that we're all living in right now, the landscape of society.

Speaker B:

It says this, but you must remember, beloved, that the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, they said to you in the last times there will be scoffers following their own ungodly passions.

Speaker B:

It is these who cause divisions, worldly people devoid of the Holy Spirit.

Speaker B:

Now listen to that.

Speaker B:

This is a prophecy that is being brought up by Jude, who is a brother to Jesus, won't even identify himself that way.

Speaker B:

Brother to James, who is in charge of the church after the James of Peter.

Speaker B:

James John died in Acts 12, in Acts 15, the other James kind of ascends to the position of power, so to speak.

Speaker B:

And he's not in charge of everybody.

Speaker B:

He's just kind of leading the show like Peter did in the early church.

Speaker B:

And this is Jude, his brother and the brother of Jesus.

Speaker B:

And he's telling you got to remember what the apostles said, the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Speaker B:

He's so humble when he writes that.

Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.
