02-13-2025 part 2: Beyond Religious Regulations: Embracing the Power of the Holy Spirit

Dr. David Spoon elucidates the profound implications of Colossians 2:20, wherein the Apostle Paul articulates the notion that believers, having died with Christ, are liberated from the regulations of the world. This pivotal assertion invites us to reflect on the pervasive influence of worldly distractions and deceptions that threaten to erode our spiritual vitality. As Spoon expounds upon the distinction between genuine faith and mere religious observance, he underscores the futility of legalism in combating the flesh. The discourse further emphasizes that true empowerment arises not from adherence to man-made doctrines but from a vibrant relationship with God, facilitated by the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, we are reminded that our life in Christ is characterized by freedom, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to divine truth and the Holy Spirit's power.

An exploration of the profound teachings within the book of Colossians reveals the Apostle Paul's admonition regarding the Christian's liberation from worldly regulations. The discourse delves into Colossians 2:20, wherein Paul implores believers to recognize their death with Christ, thereby disentangling themselves from the constraints imposed by secular norms. The episode elaborates on the insidious nature of worldly distractions that can siphon away spiritual vitality, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining a robust relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. This segment is underscored by a fervent warning against allowing religious legalism to supplant genuine faith, stressing the imperative of a transformative relationship with Jesus rather than mere adherence to rules. The speakers articulate a clarion call for Christians to embrace their liberty in Christ, advocating for a faith lived out through the power of the Holy Spirit rather than through the hollow practices of religiosity.

Speaker A:

And now for something completely different.

Speaker A:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.

Speaker A:

It's Expository Thursday.

Speaker A:

Expository Thursday as we work together to know the letter better.

Speaker A:

By the way, that's really just for Rosalind.

Speaker A:

Into the narrative of the book of Colossians, we travel to understand what things the Lord requires of us as we learn to apply God's timeless truths in our lives.

Speaker A:

First, Colossians 2:20, where the apostle Paul says, if you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belong to the world, do you submit to its regulations?

Speaker A:

In other words, you're dead.

Speaker B:

And because you're dead, the dead you.

Speaker A:

Is not required to do these things.

Speaker A:

It might not seem like it, but we often think of it as simply as our flesh or Satan that's falling into this.

Speaker A:

But the world.

Speaker A:

Let me say this real quickly because I want you to hear it.

Speaker A:

The world has a power to drain.

Speaker B:

The good godly out of our minds.

Speaker A:

By distraction and deception.

Speaker B:

Boy, I hope you heard that.

Speaker A:

The world has the power to drain the good and the godly out of our minds by distraction and deception.

Speaker A:

Next, Paul's argument, starting in verse 22, has to do with, guess what?

Speaker A:

Religion trying to step into the place of relationship.

Speaker A:

We just talked about this in this last segment about a church that's just going through the motions and being churchianity and religiosity.

Speaker A:

Guess what?

Speaker A:

It's right here in Colossians again, when a faith becomes a set of rules.

Speaker A:

This happens when Christianity becomes churchianity and turns into a legalism rather than a walk with the Lord.

Speaker A:

He says, look at these regulations.

Speaker A:

Do not handle.

Speaker A:

Do not taste, do not touch.

Speaker A:

They appear to be spiritual and godly commands, right?

Speaker B:

But they're not.

Speaker A:

They may look great and look like great religious guides, but they accomplish nothing and have no effect.

Speaker A:

The bottom line to the apostles argument is this.

Speaker A:

All that stuff looks great.

Speaker A:

It appears spiritual, holy and religious, like many religious groups.

Speaker A:

But it doesn't do a single thing against the fight of the flesh.

Speaker B:

The only thing.

Speaker A:

Oh, no, don't do this.

Speaker A:

The only thing that works against the flesh in this walk is walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, engaging in our relationship with God the Father, allowing the word of God to pulsate through us and living through Jesus Christ and living through his righteousness, not through.

Speaker B:

Man'S rules or teachings.

Speaker A:

Let me just close it out by saying it all depends on Jesus.

Speaker C:

David Spoon's life has been an experience while growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

Speaker C:

He joined kaam and this radio program began.

Speaker C:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

Speaker A:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

Speaker A:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations.

Speaker A:

Oh my.

Speaker A:

Spiritual observations, my life's insanities and oy vey, so much more.

Speaker A:

Now, even though we talked to Speed Racer yesterday, the Speed Racer of professional radio and the nicest guy in radio, our own Jim and Jacob, we already know it's not professional radio.

Speaker A:

How do you know?

Speaker A:

I've been doing this a long time.

Speaker A:

I can tell you every mistake in every show.

Speaker A:

It's so sad.

Speaker A:

But that part doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

What matters is this.

Speaker B:

How you doing?

Speaker A:

How are things for you?

Speaker A:

How's it going?

Speaker A:

How can we bless you?

Speaker A:

What can we do to help?

Speaker B:

Simple.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

We have removed the shock that takes place.

Speaker A:

Remove the shock that when you call.

Speaker B:

It does not shock you any longer.

Speaker A:

So you can call without being shocked.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Talking to Jam and Jacobs.

Speaker A:

This same feeling you get when you know you are being sincerely appreciated.

Speaker A:

That's so sweet.

Speaker D:

Thank you, David.

Speaker D:

Happy Thursday.

Speaker A:

Happy Thursday to you, my friend.

Speaker A:

It's been a fast first 30 minutes again.

Speaker D:

So 30 minutes flew by and that call we got, I answered it and then the call ended.

Speaker D:

So I'm not.

Speaker D:

Maybe it was a wrong number.

Speaker D:

Not sure.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, if they were ordering a pizza, that was all right.

Speaker A:

Sometimes people call up and order a pizza.

Speaker A:

Oh, no, maybe not.

Speaker A:

All right, so maybe it was just.

Speaker D:

It could have been a pizza order.

Speaker A:

Yeah, could have been a pizza order.

Speaker A:

So the next time you pick up the phone, go Domino's, see what happens.

Speaker A:

Anyway, that's right.

Speaker A:

I think in these terms.

Speaker A:

So here it is.

Speaker A:

As simple as we can make it.

Speaker A:

Why would you reach out to us?

Speaker A:

Why would you bother to call, text, email?

Speaker A:

It could be for appraise, report.

Speaker A:

We're there for you.

Speaker A:

We give you that opportunity to share that.

Speaker A:

It could be for a prayer request.

Speaker B:

We're there for you.

Speaker A:

We'll pray.

Speaker A:

We'll join you.

Speaker A:

just like Jesus said in Mark:

Speaker A:

Father calling him dad calling him Father.

Speaker A:

You can do anything Jesus said, of course.

Speaker A:

And then the petition, let this cup pass from me.

Speaker B:

But then the submission nevertheless, not my.

Speaker A:

Will, but thy will be done.

Speaker A:

The perfect prayer, right?

Speaker A:

We'll pray that process.

Speaker A:

We'll pray with faith and expectation, but with submission.

Speaker A:

If you need help, let's do it.

Speaker A:

Maybe you've just got something you want to share.

Speaker A:

Dave.

Speaker A:

I was driving down the road and I saw this thing and it just really blessed me.

Speaker A:

Cool.

Speaker A:

That's always great.

Speaker A:

Isn't it cool when you turn the radio on or something on and then there's this song or something and you haven't heard for a while.

Speaker A:

It's like, oh, wow.

Speaker A:

That moment that the Lord does that for you.

Speaker A:

The bracelets that God give you.

Speaker A:

Maybe you even have an answer to Bible trivia.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't know if you have this or not.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Let's see if you can figure it out.

Speaker A:

Is the book of second Colossians in the Old Testament, the New Testament or neither?

Speaker A:

Is the book of second Colossians in the Old Testament, the New Testament or neither?

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you can reach out to us.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Or you can send an email.

Speaker A:

Davidemustincrease.org is the book of second Colossians.

Speaker B:

In the Old Testament, the New Testament or neither?

Speaker A:

That is the trivia question for you to answer.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, we are going to go into prayer because I want to be praying for Roz and for Angelina and for Keith and for our brother Roger.

Speaker A:

Okay, just keeping it simple and then we'll go from there and see where we go.

Speaker A:

Here it is.

Speaker A:

Let's go.

Speaker A:

Before the Lord.

Speaker A:

Take your faith.

Speaker A:

I'll take my faith.

Speaker A:

I'll take my $1.50 of faith.

Speaker A:

You take your $1.50 of faith.

Speaker A:

Everybody takes their $1 50 of faith.

Speaker A:

We'll put them together and then we'll have a lot more in faith.

Speaker A:

Let's do it that way.

Speaker A:

Let's pray.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now and we thank you and we praise you.

Speaker A:

And the fact of the matter is, Lord, the truth of the matter is you are way better than we deserve.

Speaker A:

That's the truth.

Speaker A:

And we just thank you and praise you.

Speaker A:

We know people mock us.

Speaker A:

We understand, Lord.

Speaker A:

We're not going to let that impact.

Speaker B:

We love you.

Speaker A:

You're awesome.

Speaker A:

You're phenomenal to each and every one of us.

Speaker A:

You've probably saved us in ways we can't even imagine.

Speaker A:

You've protected us and you've walked with.

Speaker B:

Us and you've helped us time and time and time again.

Speaker A:

You have never failed.

Speaker A:

So we come before you, Lord, and we lift up Rosalind.

Speaker A:

She's recovering from her sickness.

Speaker B:

She needs a touch, Lord.

Speaker B:

She needs to be touched.

Speaker A:

And we're asking you to do that.

Speaker B:

Very thing in her body and give.

Speaker A:

Her lots of strength.

Speaker A:

And Angelina is in a situation where they're still having a hard time figuring out where she can be.

Speaker B:

And we're asking you for help that they could actually.

Speaker A:

That Rosalind and Robert and Angela can get resolution solution to their issues.

Speaker A:

And we just lift up our brother Keith and we ask you to bring.

Speaker B:

Healing power into his life.

Speaker B:

Let there be more of you in him.

Speaker A:

We lift up Roger again, such a wonderful way that he shared yesterday.

Speaker A:

He was just such a blessing to so many people.

Speaker B:

And we just ask you to repay that blessing to him as he has blessed your people.

Speaker B:

We thank you for Cindy's victory and.

Speaker A:

Her tests and passing every one of them and doing phenomenal.

Speaker B:

We're so appreciative of that.

Speaker B:

Seems like a little thing, but it's not.

Speaker B:

Because it's important to her and her family.

Speaker A:

And for each of these things, Lord.

Speaker B:

That we seem to get discouraged in.

Speaker A:

Lord, that we would not focus on what hasn't been.

Speaker A:

But we start to have a better mindset on what you will do and how it will be to your glory.

Speaker B:

And for our benefit.

Speaker B:

Because everything you do is for us, for our benefit.

Speaker B:

And we're not worthy of it.

Speaker B:

We give you thanks and praise in all of it.

Speaker B:

And we pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Speaker B:

Amen and Amen.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

All right, so let's move it on.

Speaker A:

Here's what we're gonna do on today's issue.

Speaker A:

We're gonna do our DNA in the next segment.

Speaker A:

Cause I wanna get a little bit into the teaching.

Speaker A:

But I will restate the trivia question.

Speaker A:

That question is straightforward.

Speaker A:

Is the book of second Colossians in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

Speaker A:

If you think you know.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why.

Speaker B:

As though you still belong to the.

Speaker A:

World, do you submit to its regulations?

Speaker A:

Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch.

Speaker A:

So let's understand what's going on because I want to make sure I make this really clear.

Speaker A:

I don't want anybody to miss this.

Speaker A:

As we're in Colossians 2 picking up verse 20, Paul's saying, if you've died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why are you acting like you need to submit to its regulations?

Speaker A:

In other words, you're dead.

Speaker A:

And because you're dead, you are not required to follow these kind of laws.

Speaker A:

The world tries to draw you down.

Speaker A:

I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but in academia and in politics and in the media and in Hollywood, there's not a ton of support for being a bible believing, boarding and Christian.

Speaker A:

You're called a racist, an ignoramus, you're a flat earther.

Speaker A:

I mean there's so many things they call and they say about it.

Speaker A:

It's just so ridiculous.

Speaker A:

And they're just like, oh, you're evil, you're this.

Speaker A:

In fact, they have in fact called Bible believing Christians, Nazis.

Speaker A:

That's really nice as a Jewish Christian from me to hear that all these different things that they say.

Speaker A:

The world is just continually saying, we can't do this, you do this, you don't do this, you don't do this.

Speaker B:

And all of these things.

Speaker A:

The world has its own element of godlessness and deception.

Speaker A:

And what they're trying to do is.

Speaker B:

Bind up believers in their own false religious laws.

Speaker B:

Did you hear what I said?

Speaker B:

They have religious laws.

Speaker A:

You're thinking, oh no it's not.

Speaker A:

They're atheistic.

Speaker A:

That is their religion.

Speaker A:

They're all about the science.

Speaker A:

That is their religion.

Speaker A:

It's all about the earth.

Speaker A:

That is their religion.

Speaker A:

Don't you see?

Speaker A:

That's it.

Speaker A:

That's what they worship.

Speaker A:

And if you don't follow their ways and their rules.

Speaker B:

Well, they shame you.

Speaker A:

But here's the deal.

Speaker B:

You have been set free from all.

Speaker A:

Of this rubbish by the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

And some of you have felt that freedom, but then have lost it because.

Speaker B:

There'S so much influence against.

Speaker A:

Number one, stop allowing yourself to be fed that garbage from the world.

Speaker A:

Number two, stay connected to the Lord.

Speaker B:

As he in your life revives you.

Speaker A:

And strengthens you, fills you up.

Speaker B:

As every morning, the mercies of God.

Speaker A:

And the goodness of God and the grace of God are new every day.

Speaker A:

You wake up and your eyes open.

Speaker B:

Up and they flutter a little bit.

Speaker A:

And you start to hear.

Speaker B:

God has given you another day in.

Speaker A:

His grace, in his mercy, and in his love.

Speaker A:

And you can get up and say, thank you.

Speaker B:

Let's go again.

Speaker A:

Whatever was, was, it's what God is doing now.

Speaker A:

And you want to be walking with.

Speaker B:

Him hand in hand.

Speaker A:

So these religious rules, these false legalisms, these false.

Speaker A:

They even try to affix the name of God to them, even affixing the.

Speaker B:

Name of Jesus to them.

Speaker A:

Noelle and I were talking about this the other day.

Speaker A:

She was talking about.

Speaker A:

Somebody had said to her, I really.

Speaker B:

Like the Jesus that likes all of the sinful behavior.

Speaker A:

Somebody had said to her, it's like, that's not the real Jesus.

Speaker A:

2nd Corinthians 11:4 says, that's a false Christ, and we need to keep an eye on that.

Speaker A:

You want to know where the real Christ is?

Speaker B:

You want to know who the real Christ is?

Speaker A:

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.

Speaker A:

Not some university, not some politician, not some.

Speaker A:

Not some stupid movie, certainly not the media who doesn't know the difference between God and a brown paper bag.

Speaker B:

You stand firm in the word of God.

Speaker A:

You stand firm in your faith in Jesus Christ and in God's commitment to you.

Speaker A:

You be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Speaker B:

Who gives you the gift of discerning of spirits when needed.

Speaker A:

You don't let the world's draw have that much impact on you.

Speaker B:

Oh, I know.

Speaker A:

Some people are having a lot more fun right now in politics.

Speaker B:

I get it.

Speaker A:

Okay, I understand.

Speaker A:

But don't get so caught up, because.

Speaker B:

It'S one kingdom we live for, right?

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody on the line, I guess.

Speaker A:

Did they want to ask a question?

Speaker A:

Answer the trivia?

Speaker A:

I forgot where we're at.

Speaker A:

Wait, which one do they want to do?

Speaker D:

Trivia.

Speaker A:

Okay, send them all through.

Speaker A:

Knock knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker E:

Hi, David.

Speaker E:

This is Deborah.

Speaker A:

Hi.

Speaker A:

And woo.

Speaker E:

Good teaching.

Speaker A:

Thank you, Deborah.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

Wow, it's great to hear your voice.

Speaker A:

I love hearing your voice.

Speaker A:

You're like one of my.

Speaker A:

You're one of my favorite people to call.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

Great.

Speaker A:

All right, I'm going to set you up on the question.

Speaker A:

I'm feeling pretty confident for you.

Speaker B:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

Is the book of Colossians.

Speaker A:

Sorry, Is the book of second Colossians in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?

Speaker E:

Well, I'm going to go with neither.

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

All right, Deborah, where is first Colossians or where is Colossians located?

Speaker E:

It's just Colossians, I don't know.

Speaker A:

And it's Old Testament or New Testament?

Speaker E:

Oh, I would say new.

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

Amundo again, you are two for two.

Speaker A:

Awesome sauce.

Speaker A:

How are you doing, by the way?

Speaker A:

You doing well?

Speaker E:

Yes, sir.

Speaker E:

I'm totally blessed.

Speaker A:

I'm so happy for you.

Speaker A:

So, so happy for you.

Speaker B:

And you are a blessing.

Speaker A:

So thank you so much for being that well.

Speaker E:

Thank you.

Speaker E:

And I pray for you and Noel and Burt.

Speaker B:

Alright?

Speaker A:

Appreciate that deeply.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker E:

All right, y'all have a good day.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Bye bye, bye bye.

Speaker A:

All right, we will take a break if you can.

Speaker A:

Boy, you can't have itching ears.

Speaker A:

Listen to what I just taught.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break, we'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

$57 a month and that's no buny there.

Speaker A:

That's better.

Speaker A:

Cowpunchsites.com dad, what is the David Spoon experience?

Speaker A:

What the issue is is this guy hears the Gospel from Philip.

Speaker A:

And in that presentation of the gospel is baptism.

Speaker A:

That is not negotiable in the sense that there's no way you can remove that.

Speaker A:

And he responds by saying, I want to be part of this family.

Speaker A:

I want to be connected to this.

Speaker B:

I hear the good news.

Speaker A:

I want the grace and the mercy.

Speaker A:

I want to do whatever it takes to show my response, not just to you, Philip, but to the entire world.

Speaker A:

I'm a Christian, and that's what baptism does.

Speaker A:

And while I think it's dangerous to say if you're not, you can never get in, because I don't believe that's correct, I also think it's dangerous to say nobody needs to do it.

Speaker A:

That's incorrect too.

Speaker A:

Your baptism is an open proclamation of inward work.

Speaker A:

Don't you ever forget the Lord requires that if you've never been baptized, get baptized.

Speaker A:

Don't, don't.

Speaker A:

Oh, I do it right this way.

Speaker A:

Arrange to get baptized.

Speaker A:

That's it.

Speaker A:

If you've never done it, you should do it because it's a declaration of your faith.

Speaker A:

That's the response to the gospel you're saying by identifying, going down and up in baptism, the end of you, the beginning of him in you.

Speaker A:

Okay, that just seems like a.

Speaker A:

It doesn't even seem like.

Speaker A:

That's complex.

Speaker A:

I think everybody should just go.

Speaker A:

Yeah, okay.

Speaker A:

Got it.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at KAM 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

You might as well just get ready for it.

Speaker A:

If it's not your cup of tea, then you probably wanna get another cup.

Speaker A:

Here you go.

Speaker A:

Here's your next trivia question.

Speaker A:

On what mountain did Elijah challenge the prophets of Baal?

Speaker A:

What mountain was that?

Speaker A:

First Kings, chapter 18, verses 19 through 25.

Speaker A:

On what mountain did Elijah challenge the prophets of Baal?

Speaker A:

First Kings, chapter 18, verse 19 25.

Speaker A:

Was it on Mount Zion, Horeb, Pisgah, or Carmel?

Speaker A:

Which mountain was it on?

Speaker A:

That's the question if you think you know the answer.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Or you can send an email davidemustincrease.org so your trivia question on what mountain Did Elijah challenge the prophets of Baal?

Speaker A:

1 Kings 18, 19, 25?

Speaker A:

Was it on Mount Zion or Horeb, Pisgah or Carmel?

Speaker A:

That is the question.

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you can respond by contacting us.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, we are gonna do our D N A D stands for draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker B:

Daily.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

You know what we're talking about today.

Speaker A:

It's so important.

Speaker A:

It's one of those things where, if you understand right relationship begets right ministry.

Speaker A:

Jesus, when he presented himself to be baptized, was being obedient.

Speaker A:

But the Father said something deeper than that.

Speaker A:

He said, this is my Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Speaker A:

That well pleased in the Greek has to do with a deep saturation of happiness or appreciation.

Speaker A:

The only thing Jesus did prior to that baptism was spend time with the Father.

Speaker A:

That relationship geared him for the preparation for ministry.

Speaker A:

That's why you've got to be close to the Lord and don't say, well.

Speaker B:

I'm too old to do ministry.

Speaker A:

Moses didn't even start his right ministry until he was 80 and he died at 120.

Speaker A:

The last third of his life is.

Speaker B:

When he started things going.

Speaker B:

Just remember that God can do what he wants.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

Never?

Speaker A:

Never.

Speaker A:

I mean, you know, we're talking about the world and the worldly, and I'm going to share some things and I'm going to tell you.

Speaker A:

I'm going to share something with you that happened to me.

Speaker A:

You're going to just go, could that really happen?

Speaker A:

I'm just going to tell you right now.

Speaker A:

You're going to freak out.

Speaker A:

It's okay.

Speaker A:

I love you.

Speaker A:

I'm going to share.

Speaker A:

It just doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

You can receive it or not receive it.

Speaker A:

That's not going to change from me sharing it.

Speaker A:

But the deal is you just can't be ashamed of the Lord.

Speaker A:

You can't be ashamed of Jesus.

Speaker A:

You can't be ashamed of what he had to say.

Speaker B:

And it doesn't matter what the world has to say, because most of them.

Speaker A:

If not all of them, are under their Father, the Father of lies.

Speaker A:

People are like, well, that's not true.

Speaker A:

Really?

Speaker A:

Jesus said that about the Pharisees, let.

Speaker B:

Alone the worldly, right?

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker A:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker B:

Luke 9:26.

Speaker A:

So D draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A Always be ready.

Speaker D:

To serve.

Speaker B:

Ready to serve.

Speaker B:

Just so not clogged.

Speaker A:

I'm not talking about sinuses.

Speaker A:

So not clogged that you can be.

Speaker B:

Aware if the Lord needs you for anything he wants.

Speaker A:

After all, we live for the pleasure.

Speaker B:

Of our King, not for the pleasure of ourselves.

Speaker B:

In doing that, we find our greatest fulfillment.

Speaker B:

So being ready for our King.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A Always be ready to serve.

Speaker A:

On what mountain did Elijah challenge the prophets of baal?

Speaker A:

Was it Zion, Horeb, Higgs, or Carmel?

Speaker A:

That's the question.

Speaker A:

Kings:

Speaker A:

It's like, okay, if this is too much for you, I appreciate that.

Speaker A:

I love you, but I have to go where I believe the Lord wants me to go the best I can.

Speaker A:

Here's what the rest of this text says.

Speaker A:

If you've died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why as.

Speaker B:

Though you still belong to the world.

Speaker A:

Do you submit to its regulations?

Speaker A:

Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch.

Speaker A:

These will all perish with use because they are based on human commands and teachings.

Speaker A:

Such restrictions indeed have an appearance of wisdom with their self prescribed worship and false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

Speaker A:

So recently a particular leader in a particular church that is particularly large had some really negative things to say about a particular country that we are all living in, thinking that what applies to him does not apparently apply to everyone, and what applies to everybody apparently does not apply to him.

Speaker A:

So what I'm talking about is the current situation with the Pope having something to say about America making a change in their approach for how they deal with people that are not from the country.

Speaker A:

And so there's a Christian themed approach saying, nope, you got to be.

Speaker A:

You got to nope, you can't.

Speaker A:

You can't be taking care of your own, you have to be taking care of the stranger.

Speaker A:

And to do otherwise is not really Christian.

Speaker A:

I will just read this one verse.

Speaker A:

It only takes one verse to really set people in the right position.

Speaker A:

1 Timothy 5:8 if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Speaker A:

So people are saying that we don't need to be taking care of our own.

Speaker A:

People in our own nation have never read 1 Timothy 5:8 which says that if we don't take care of our.

Speaker B:

Own.

Speaker A:

Especially those of our own household.

Speaker A:

We have denied the faith.

Speaker B:

We're worse than an unbeliever.

Speaker A:

I don't see a lot of first Timothy five, eight being promoted.

Speaker A:

I just don't see it.

Speaker A:

And I do find it exceedingly hypocritical that this particular nation, and I'm referring to the Pope, says, anybody that tries to get into this area illegally, it's a sentence of jail.

Speaker A:

But that doesn't apply to the United States.

Speaker A:

It's like, that's so what?

Speaker A:

That's hypocritical.

Speaker A:

Jesus would have called that out in one second.

Speaker A:

I'm not sure why we don't.

Speaker A:

And you're thinking, well, what are you talking about?

Speaker A:

Here's what I'm talking about.

Speaker A:

You walk this walk with the Lord.

Speaker A:

You don't walk this walk as an American.

Speaker A:

You walk this walk as a Bible Christian.

Speaker A:

In the Bible, 1 Timothy 5, 8, it says, we gotta take care of our own.

Speaker A:

It doesn't mean you don't take care of strangers.

Speaker A:

Obviously, the story of the Good Samaritan explains, anybody that God brings into your universe, you take care of, you help.

Speaker A:

But that does not mean you neglect your own.

Speaker A:

And in fact, if you want to get into the technicalities of it, we are supposed to neglect everybody compared to our love that we have for God himself.

Speaker A:

Don't hear that talked about very much.

Speaker B:

Why?

Speaker A:

Because it doesn't fit their narrative.

Speaker A:

And this is getting to be a little bit ridiculous.

Speaker A:

And I think at some point people just got to go, you know what?

Speaker A:

That's enough.

Speaker A:

If you're not going to use the Bible and you're just going to sit there and chop off on things and talk about things, then just sit down and shut up.

Speaker A:

Because we only want to know what God has to say.

Speaker A:

And God created the universe and the dude can write a book.

Speaker A:

It's not that complex.

Speaker A:

They're trying to make it complex.

Speaker A:

And what they're trying to do is use the name of God, which, by the way, that is the most direct application of using the Lord's name in vain, using God's name associated to a cause that God did not initiate.

Speaker A:

Just in case you're wondering, that's the main way.

Speaker A:

It's not swearing.

Speaker A:

It's using God's name as a cause.

Speaker A:

That's what it is.

Speaker A:

And it just irritates me.

Speaker A:

I'm thinking, wow, should you not be more compassionate?

Speaker A:

I pray that every one of these.

Speaker B:

People I genuinely do would get it so that they can connect to him.

Speaker A:

Because without it, they're just like, the church at Sardis.

Speaker B:

They're dead.

Speaker A:

That's the truth.

Speaker A:

If you take a marshmallow and touch me, it might light on fire.

Speaker A:

On what mountain did Elijah challenge the prophets of baal?

Speaker A:

Was it Zion, Horeb, Pisgah or Carmel?

Speaker A:

And it was Mount Carmel that that took place.

Speaker A:

1 Kings 18, 19, 25.

Speaker A:

We'll take a short break, then we'll come back and I will share something so bizarre you will just might freak out.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break, we'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker G:

What is the David Spin Experience?

Speaker G:

lf on a rocket ship racing at:

Speaker G:

Once there, you can sense the power and the presence of the majestic and the divine.

Speaker G:

You forget about your troubles and your fears and you just float in peace without a worry.

Speaker G:

In the world, there are no struggles, no pain, no discomfort.

Speaker G:

It's soothing, calm, comfortable.

Speaker G:

But then the show starts and you realize that none of that stuff has anything to do with the show.

Speaker G:

What were you thinking?

Speaker G:

The David Spoon Experience?

Speaker G:

Only for the brave of heart and the board.

Speaker A:

My next guest has been on the show before with a prior book.

Speaker A:

I'm very excited to talk to him about this book.

Speaker A:

I've seen a couple of the interviews that he's done, and this book is a great apologetic book on Christology, and I'm hoping that people will really enjoy this.

Speaker A:

First and foremost, let's welcome back to our show David Litma.

Speaker A:

David, how are you doing, sir?

Speaker H:

Great.

Speaker H:

How are you doing?

Speaker A:

I'm doing fantastic.

Speaker A:

Excellent book, by the way.

Speaker A:

Big props for writing the True Jesus, Uncovering the divinity of Christ in the Gospels.

Speaker A:

I know they give me a list and I know you know, they give a list for us to ask questions, but if you remember from the last time you were on the show, I rarely look at that list.

Speaker A:

No, that's good, because I like to get from you as the author, you know, kind of where it was going and what you were thinking.

Speaker A:

So let's just talk about at the core level, you know, for the purpose of writing this book, what was the big goal you were trying to accomplish in writing the true Jesus?

Speaker H:

Well, I started out, I wanted to write a primer, a survey, an introduction to the New Testament.

Speaker H:

And as I got into it, I realized that I could not cover it adequately with sufficient depth.

Speaker H:

So I asked the publisher, Regnery, if I could narrow the focus to just the Gospels, because the Gospels are where you see the living Son of God and you encounter him and you sit at his feet and hear his teachings and you watch him and you observe his behavior and his authoritative teaching and his empathy for human beings.

Speaker H:

And you see his declaration of divinity and why he led the Jewish authorities to want to crucify him because he was in fact claiming to be God, because he is God.

Speaker H:

And so I want his divinity and his full humanity to, to jump off the pages of my book.

Speaker H:

The book is a compendium of the four gospels in a consolidated account, not attempting to be a harmony, which you can't totally do in a roughly chronological form.

Speaker H:

The ultimate goal, and with a running commentary, the ultimate goal is I want people.

Speaker H:

I want to inspire people to read the gospel and the Bible for themselves.

Speaker A:

Oh, welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

See what happens when my wife works way too many hours?

Speaker A:

Now you understand why it's such a team effort.

Speaker A:

I'm just telling you, it's like, yep, yep, that's what happens.

Speaker A:

All right, so here's your next trivia question.

Speaker A:

Is this true or false?

Speaker A:

From the book of Isaiah?

Speaker A:

The cow and the bear shall feed their young ones shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Speaker A:

Is that true or false?

Speaker A:

According to Isaiah 11:7.

Speaker A:

And the cow and the bear shall feed their young ones shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the oxygen.

Speaker A:

True or false?

Speaker A:

Isaiah chapter 11, verse 7.

Speaker A:

If you think you know, you can reach out to us.

Or you can send an email davidemasincrease.org Is this true or false according to Isaiah 11:7?

Speaker A:

And the cow and the bear shall feed their young ones shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Speaker A:

That's it.

Speaker A:

In the meantime, I'm going to send you to the website.

Speaker A:

I want to let you know that if you have a prayer request or a praise report, you can submit it through the website.

Speaker A:

Some people like that makes it a little easier and we're good for that.

Speaker A:

If you also want to have access to our app, it is free on the website.

Speaker A:

Additionally, if you have something that you are just Looking for.

Speaker A:

There's access to about 40.

Speaker A:

I think it's about:

Speaker A:

Plus there's also a place to give.

Speaker A:

And this ministry does function on the donations of the listeners, so I might have lost a few today, but just do the best we can before the Lord as always.

Speaker A:

So I would encourage you to check it out on the website.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org Prayer Request hemostincreased.org Praise Report.

Speaker A:

Looking to give to this ministry.

Speaker A:

Confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

He must increase.org hemustincrease.org lego my eggo.

Speaker A:

You know why I always get the Eggo?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker I:

Cause you grab for the corners.

Speaker A:

See?

Speaker A:

No corners.

Speaker I:

Eggo waffles are round.

Speaker A:

Yeah, they're round.

Speaker A:

There's no corners.

Speaker A:

You can't grab for the corner and then grab it because there's no corner.

Speaker A:

I have nothing to say to that.

Speaker A:

I don't even know how to respond.

Speaker D:

That was a great impression.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

Let's do a little bit of history before we do anything else.

Speaker A:

Let's do that couple cool things today on History.

Speaker A:

Today is National Tortellini Day.

Speaker A:

All right, all good.

Speaker A:

I like that.

Speaker A:

Today is also National Crab Rangoon Day.

Speaker A:

I like that, too.

Speaker A:

I love Crab Rangoons.

Speaker A:

No, Noel and I have that every time we have Chinese food.

Speaker A:

So it's also World Radio Day.

Speaker A:

Who knew, right?

Speaker A:

I don't know where the hell they came up with that.

Speaker D:

We're celebrating right now.

Speaker A:

Right now.

Speaker A:

And also National Cheddar Day.

Speaker A:

It's like, wow.

Speaker A:

Like, they have all these days, there's.

Speaker B:

No food, no food, no food.

Speaker A:

And then today there's four.

Speaker A:

Like, they all pick the same day.

Speaker A:

It's so weird.

Speaker A:

I will say today, in:

Speaker A:

I have no idea what that means.

Speaker A:

And I was just thinking, what if Thomas Edison had discovered the Ben Franklin effect?

Speaker A:

I wouldn't know what that meant either, but I thought it was funny that he discovered his own effect, so I guess that's good.

Speaker A:

And then finally, in the year:

Speaker A:

So that's 25 years ago today.

Speaker A:

That is your history.

Speaker A:

Your trivia question, is this true or false?

Speaker A:

From the book of Isaiah, the cow and the bear shall feed.

Speaker A:

Your young ones shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Speaker A:

Is that true or false?

Speaker A:

According to Isaiah 11:7.

Speaker A:

So some of you are probably sitting there saying, dave, normally you don't Go that way.

Speaker A:

A little less political, normally, a little more geared.

Speaker A:

And the reason that I'm trying to teach and go through this is because it probably is not an accident that we were looking at Revelation 3:1, 2 and now we are in Colossians 2:20, 21, 22 and 23, which have the same.

Speaker B:

Listen to this.

Speaker A:

They have the same focus.

Speaker A:

And the focus is about the church.

Speaker B:

Not being worldly or political, not being.

Speaker A:

Based on world traditions.

Speaker A:

Now I want to say something, and again, this is not.

Speaker A:

There's nothing I can change in this.

Speaker A:

This is just statistically true.

Speaker B:

The majority of the world would say.

Speaker A:

Everything Jesus taught was about love and about the poor.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I just want you to be aware that, that every word about love and the poor combined in the New Testament is not as many times as he talked about sin.

Speaker A:

Bet you don't hear that.

Speaker A:

And it just.

Speaker A:

So the worldly take on who Jesus is.

Speaker A:

And this is why I talk about biblical love.

Speaker A:

Because to the world, love is love.

Speaker B:

Love, love, love.

Speaker B:

All you need is love.

Speaker A:

Really define it.

Speaker B:

Well, love means everybody just says everything is great all the time.

Speaker A:

Really.

Speaker B:

Jesus said as many as I love, I rebuke and I chasten.

Speaker B:

That's biblical love.

Speaker B:

Biblical love is caring enough to discipline.

Speaker A:

And the world doesn't like that.

Speaker B:

But see, that's why you can't let that worldly philosophy enter into the church.

Speaker A:

You can't let certain philosophies of mankind.

Speaker B:

Be the driving force behind the church.

Speaker B:

That's why the church has to have a Bible base.

Speaker B:

That's why churches need to be spirit led but Bible grounded so that they know the plumb line is in the word of God.

Speaker B:

If people attend churches that don't use the Bible, then they get to change the truth according to them.

Speaker B:

And this is what Jesus is speaking against in Revelation and this is what Paul is speaking against in Colossians.

Speaker B:

It's like you can't do that.

Speaker A:

You can't change.

Speaker B:

See, cultures change and politics change and kingdoms change and mankind changes.

Speaker B:

It all changes.

Speaker B:

But the truth doesn't change.

Speaker B:

And so what we're getting from this is this understanding that look, the way that the world perceives it is this way.

Speaker B:

I know, but they're wrong.

Speaker B:

The way that mankind responds to God because of sin is to run and hide and then to clothe themselves with the wrong clothing.

Speaker B:

That's the problem.

Speaker B:

You think?

Speaker B:

I know, David.

Speaker B:

You get all fired up because it's so long.

Speaker A:

You know, I will say this.

Speaker B:

There are times when Jesus got fired up.

Speaker B:

I Mean, I will say it.

Speaker A:

I mean, I'm not him, so it's not that.

Speaker B:

But what I'm saying is there's times when you got fired up.

Speaker B:

There's times when you just look at this stuff and you go, this is pathetic.

Speaker B:

This is ridiculous.

Speaker B:

Look, you can't let the world tell the church how to be.

Speaker B:

You can't let the worldly tell people what a Christian.

Speaker B:

Most amazing thing is when the world.

Speaker A:

Goes, you're supposed to be a Christian.

Speaker B:

What would they know about being a Christian?

Speaker B:

What would they know?

Speaker B:

They know nothing.

Speaker B:

They know nothing of the warfare with.

Speaker A:

Satan because they're not Christians.

Speaker A:

They don't care.

Speaker B:

It's a lie.

Speaker B:

It's all a lie.

Speaker B:

And you sit there and you look at it and you go, wow, what?

Speaker A:

I'll just tell you something that happened to me.

Speaker A:

Some of you are just going to.

Speaker A:

I know, but this is what happened.

Speaker A:

So I told you about the church that I came out of.

Speaker A:

Most people have heard it.

Speaker A:

You've read the story.

Speaker A:

I haven't told all the things because I don't feel like.

Speaker A:

I don't believe that that's what the Lord wanted.

Speaker A:

So I didn't.

Speaker A:

Let me just say that, not feel.

Speaker A:

I just didn't believe the Lord was leading me in that direction.

Speaker A:

But there's one event that the Lord brought back to my mind just recently.

Speaker B:

And it happened many years ago, 40 plus years ago.

Speaker A:

So in that church, before it was over, before I left, before I went to California, if you know the story, it's in the book, you know, broken for his glory.

Speaker A:

Anyway, before I left, I was next to the church in what they called the parsonage.

Speaker A:

And a person who attended the church who was almost a new Christian.

Speaker A:

I mean, new as in pretty new.

Speaker A:

I mean, a couple of months in, was really having a hard time.

Speaker A:

And so they met with me and she asked me this question.

Speaker A:

She said, I have a question for you.

Speaker A:

I said, what's that?

Speaker A:

She said, I was walking up to the church.

Speaker B:

I'm like, yeah.

Speaker A:

And she said, and I heard this.

Speaker B:

Word spoken to me and I don't know what it means.

Speaker A:

I'm like, okay, see, that's like, interesting, right?

Speaker A:

What was the word she said?

Speaker A:

As I walked up to the church and was about to enter the church.

Speaker B:

Door, I heard this word, ichabod.

Speaker B:

Let that sink in for a second.

Speaker A:

Here's a new Christian, doesn't know the Bible, walks up to the church doors and hears ichabod.

Speaker B:

You know what ichabod means?

Speaker B:

The glory has departed.

Speaker A:

Think about that, at that church where I learned to preach, I actually saw a couple of miracles take place.

Speaker A:

People get saved in the early days.

Speaker A:

It became something else later.

Speaker A:

And this person who doesn't know the Old Testament at all, let alone the New Testament, hears the word Ichabod, which is what the two sons of Eli, the daughter who was giving birth when the ark was taken, she said ichabod.

Speaker A:

That's what she wanted to name him.

Speaker A:

And that word, Ichabod means the glory has departed.

Speaker B:

Think about that.

Speaker B:

God was telling a little lamb, I'm not here.

Speaker A:

That's what happens when we go worldly.

Speaker A:

That's what happens when we go off Bible.

Speaker A:

That's what happens when we don't obey.

Speaker A:

That's what happens when we don't yield to the Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

That's what happens when we try to institute man made rules and regulations and try and make everything a religiosity or a churchy entity.

Speaker B:

Ichabod, there's no glory.

Speaker A:

And if the church isn't there for.

Speaker B:

The glory of Jesus Christ, if the.

Speaker A:

Church isn't there for the glory of.

Speaker B:

God, the church shouldn't be there at all.

Speaker A:

There's no way around that.

Speaker A:

I forgot about that story.

Speaker B:

I didn't put it in the book.

Speaker A:

Just one of those things.

Speaker A:

And as I was doing some of.

Speaker B:

These studies, it's just they came flooding back.

Speaker A:

I'm like, whoa, look in this show, what we teach.

Speaker A:

If the glory departs, we're done.

Speaker B:

There's nothing else.

Speaker A:

That's what happened.

Speaker B:

Isn't that wild?

Speaker A:

That's what happened.

Speaker A:

I can't change it.

Speaker B:

It's what it was.

Speaker A:

And you think, does that happen at a ton of churches?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't know that.

Speaker A:

Here's what I.

Speaker A:

If we allow the world to tell the church how to be the church.

Speaker B:

Ichabod, all day long.

Speaker A:

I got that.

Speaker A:

I'm not that stupid.

Speaker A:

I can figure that out.

Speaker A:

Get it from the book of Isaiah.

Speaker A:

And the cow and the bear shall feed.

Speaker A:

Their young ones shall lie down together.

Speaker A:

And the lion shall eat like the ox.

Speaker A:

Is it true or false?

Speaker A:

It is true.

Speaker A:

Isaiah, chapter 11, verse 7.

Speaker A:

We will take our break and then come back.

Speaker A:

You are listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Your break.

Speaker A:

We'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker F:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker I:

I have called, sir, some other prayer lines, but they don't talk to you.

Speaker I:

They'll just say, well, okay, I'll put you on our prayer list.

Speaker I:

But it makes me feel better if I get to talk to a live person.

Speaker A:

That makes sense.

Speaker A:

You need fellowship.

Speaker A:

I mean, that's something that you need, is you need some kind of contact with people.

Speaker A:

So there's nothing weird about that.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

That's healthy.

Speaker A:

But I think you gave a little bit of your own answer, because what you said is, when you're done pulling weeds, then you start thinking about the other things again.

Speaker A:

And so that means you've got to keep your mind occupied on things that are whatever is good, whatever is lovely, whatever is pure, whatever's praiseworthy.

Speaker A:

Those are the kind of things you need to think about.

Speaker A:

That's right there.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna give you a prescription from Scripture.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

I'm gonna give you a doctor Dave is gonna give you a prescription.

Speaker A:

You need to read Philippians 4, 6, 7, and 8.

Speaker A:

And you need to read that once a day.

Speaker A:

That's your prescription.

Speaker I:

Write that down, sir.

Speaker A:

Philippians, Philippians, chapter four, verses six, seven and eight.

Speaker I:

Four, six, seven, and eight.

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker A:

Philippians four, six, seven, and 8.

Speaker A:

And you need to read that once a day.

Speaker I:

Okay?

Speaker A:

Now, I want you to do that for two weeks in a row, okay?

Speaker A:

And I want you to.

Speaker A:

Literally, two weeks.

Speaker A:

That's your spiritual prescription.

Speaker A:

And I think if you do that, you're going to find you have a little more relief than you've had and a little bit more grace and operation of the spirit than maybe you've been operating in, and that we're asking the Lord to help you in that.

Speaker A:

So I'm going to pray that the Lord will use that to help you as well as some of these other issues.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

You good for that?

Speaker A:

You ready for me to pray?

Speaker I:

Can I ask you this, sir?

Speaker E:

Yes.

Speaker I:

I know you have people that call in and for prayer, but it doesn't seem like it's the same people all the time.

Speaker I:

And I feel like I'm interfering if I call too many times, you know, and interfere because you're on the radio and you doing a lot of things, trying to help people.

Speaker A:

Well, here's.

Speaker A:

Here's what I would say to you.

Speaker A:

Let's start.

Speaker A:

You just made your first call today.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

So you haven't called the show too many times.

Speaker A:

In other words, you haven't.

Speaker A:

You just do your best, and let's start with this process and see if we can get you any better.

Speaker A:

That's what we want to do.

Speaker A:

Is that fair?

Speaker I:

Okay.

Speaker I:

Yes, sir.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker A:

Let me pray over you.

Speaker A:

Okay, Ann.

Speaker A:

And by the way, thank you for calling but let me pray over you.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Amen 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Shell needs some prayer and we need to pray for him, so we're going to do that right now.

Speaker A:

He's having a little bit of struggle.

Speaker A:

He's having some spells where he's kind of feeling faint, similar to he went through when he had some real serious issues.

Speaker A:

So I want you to take your faith, put it with mine, and we'll bring it before the Lord.

Speaker A:

So just take this moment and do this with me.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before youe right now and we thank youk and we praise youe for your graciousness, you, kindness, you, mercy, and you'd love that does not end.

Speaker A:

And we lift up our brother Shel to youo and we ask youk, in.

Speaker B:

The name of Jesus, that yout would.

Speaker A:

Bring youg healing power into his body, into his mind.

Speaker A:

Lord, he's feeling faint.

Speaker A:

That's not a good place to be.

Speaker A:

Gone through quite a bit physically.

Speaker A:

We are asking you to give him full regeneration, full restoration, full renewal in his body and in his mind.

Speaker A:

Let him have all the energy he needs and let him stay on top of things, Lord, and let him not be faint.

Speaker A:

And Lord, massage by your power his heart and let him know he's getting touched by you.

Speaker A:

We pray this in Jesus name, Amen and Amen.

Speaker A:

All right, so because we only have three minutes left, I'm just going to finish off this little portion and you can work with it the best way that you can.

Speaker A:

As Paul concludes his portion, he says this, these restrictions have an appearance of wisdom.

Speaker A:

See, they seem like they're right with self prescribed worship, false humility, and their harsh treatment of the body.

Speaker A:

But they are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

Speaker A:

Let me point something out to you.

Speaker A:

If you're looking to overcome stuff, the law is not the way to do that.

Speaker A:

The way to overcome everything and anything is for you and I to understand that we need to walk in the fullness of the power of the Holy Spirit, which has been given to us by the grace and the love of God Almighty through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

And I know you think I'm kind of hammering this again and again, but the ministry of Jesus continues today.

Speaker A:

Not only is he at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us, but he sent His Holy Spirit to testify to Everything he said.

Speaker A:

So God takes up residency in us through the Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

It comes through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

It's given to us by God's grace and love.

Speaker A:

It's received by faith.

Speaker A:

And that's how we walk above.

Speaker A:

Not by following rules and regulations, mantras and different things like that.

Speaker A:

Not by following world systems, any kind of laws.

Speaker B:

It's by connecting with God that we are able to walk above the worldly plane.

Speaker B:

In the spiritual.

Speaker A:

If you're trying to overcome your situation because you think you can discipline it out, you are not hearing what God.

Speaker B:

God is saying.

Speaker B:

He's saying, I will help you with my power, with you being connected to me.

Speaker A:

That's why we are born again.

Speaker A:

So that we don't have to walk.

Speaker B:

In that old, but can walk in the newness of life.

Speaker A:

That which is supplied through Jesus Christ, who every day you wake up, you.

Speaker B:

Get that new day.

Speaker A:

And walking in that concert with the.

Speaker B:

Lord God Almighty is the critical key to overcoming these things that push us down.

Speaker B:

What God is trying to do is teach us to walk in him every day.

Speaker B:

To the Father, through the Son, by the Spirit, all for the glory of God Almighty.

Speaker B:

That's what the Lord wants for us.

Speaker B:

He wants us to walk above.

Speaker B:

In fact, he actually wants us to walk on the water.

Speaker A:

But we got to have a fixed.

Speaker B:

Vision on Jesus to do it.

Speaker B:

Get it.

Speaker A:

All right, folks, you have been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the true station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
