Dr. David Spoon:Here's the key to the show.
Dr. David Spoon:We don't know what we're doing.
Dr. David Spoon:We have no idea what's gonna happen and we don't care.
Dr. David Spoon:But for the next few minutes, I wanna talk Jesus with you.
Dr. David Spoon:So here we go.
Dr. David Spoon:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
Dr. David Spoon:That thingy right there.
Dr. David Spoon:Here you go.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's see if you can do it.
Dr. David Spoon:Name your two top priorities this year.
Dr. David Spoon:What are your two top priorities?
Dr. David Spoon:If somebody said, make a list of what your priorities list would be, your 1 and 2 would be what?
Dr. David Spoon:That's the question that we're asking you right now.
Dr. David Spoon:What is your priority?
Dr. David Spoon:What are two things on your priority list this year, 20, 25, gonna see it, gonna make it, gonna do it, gonna believe it, gonna receive it.
Dr. David Spoon:What are those two top priorities?
Dr. David Spoon:If you have, by the way, an answer to that question, an opinion, a comment, a thought, or your own question, Maybe you have your own thought.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't let it die of loneliness.
Dr. David Spoon:Just reach out and give us a holla.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:Talking to Jam and Jacob is like a peaceful day and evening with no drama.
Dr. David Spoon:Thank you, David.
Dr. David Spoon:Happy Friday, Friday.
Dr. David Spoon:Happy Friday to you.
Dr. David Spoon:It almost seems like we've had a normal week.
Dr. David Spoon:Five shows in five days.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm kind of nervous on that.
Dr. David Spoon:I'll just let you know.
Dr. David Spoon:That deserves an applause.
Dr. David Spoon:It does.
Dr. David Spoon:And I want to say, everybody, if you don't know this, we're going to pray for Jennifer and Jennifer's dad that they got something going on there.
Dr. David Spoon:We're not really able to reveal that, but we just want to pray for the Lord's grace on that.
Dr. David Spoon:Bottom line is, guess who's running the entire ship today?
Dr. David Spoon:The starship is being run by our very own Jam and Jacob.
Dr. David Spoon:And guess what?
Dr. David Spoon:Nothing has gone off the air.
Dr. David Spoon:I just want to say nice job.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's your golf clap.
Dr. David Spoon:There you go.
Dr. David Spoon:Thank you, David.
Dr. David Spoon:Yes, I'm running the starship and it has not crashed yet.
Dr. David Spoon:It has not crashed yet.
Dr. David Spoon:We have not run into the Klingons or anything else.
Dr. David Spoon:So we'll just keep it going forward.
Dr. David Spoon:Nice work.
Dr. David Spoon:By the way.
Dr. David Spoon:I do want everybody to be aware that you can reach out and call us.
Dr. David Spoon:It is okay.
Dr. David Spoon:We do not think it will create any problems unless you're calling in a place you shouldn't be calling at, or if it's uncomfortable, unsafe while you're driving, don't do it that way either.
Dr. David Spoon:But we do want you to have that opportunity to call.
Dr. David Spoon:Additionally, you can text.
Dr. David Spoon:And texting is fun because you get to kind of make little side comments that maybe you can't get on the air.
Dr. David Spoon:Yes, that happens all the time.
Dr. David Spoon:Some texts are not as nice as others.
Dr. David Spoon:That's just how that goes.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:And the reason we encourage that is there is no other place to text.
Dr. David Spoon:See how that works.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:I'll do the abridged version, which is really fast.
Dr. David Spoon:Ready?
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, that's the fast version.
Dr. David Spoon:I'll do the slower version.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:So you can call us, you can text us, or you can email david@hemustincrease.org David is my name.
Dr. David Spoon:So David at a.
Dr. David Spoon:With a circle he must increase.
Dr. David Spoon:It's all one thing from John 3:30.
Dr. David Spoon:He must increase, I must decrease.org because we're a nonprofit organization and we have proven that ever since we've existed.
Dr. David Spoon:Get it?
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:So you can call us, you can text us, you can email us.
Dr. David Spoon:Why would you do that?
Dr. David Spoon:It can be for a praise report or a testimony or something.
Dr. David Spoon:You just want to share that the Lord has really blessed you with and you want to have that opportunity to bless other brothers and sisters.
Dr. David Spoon:I don't care what you're denominational background is.
Dr. David Spoon:Mine has such variety in it.
Dr. David Spoon:You can just smile because it's like a Heinz 57.
Dr. David Spoon:In my life, right?
Dr. David Spoon:I have a little bit of everything.
Dr. David Spoon:The idea behind this is being born and raised Jewish and becoming a Christian.
Dr. David Spoon:The Lord has given me the grace to be able to see that different denominations offer different things that are very beneficial.
Dr. David Spoon:And the Lord knows every one of those nuances.
Dr. David Spoon:So it's pretty cool if you think about it in those terms.
Dr. David Spoon:But if you've got something to share, bless your brothers and sisters.
Dr. David Spoon:They'd love to hear it.
Dr. David Spoon:Plus, it will honor God.
Dr. David Spoon:If you've got a prayer request, like I said, we're going to pray for Jennifer and her dad in just a second.
Dr. David Spoon:But if you've got a prayer request, I want you to absolutely have that opportunity to have other people pray for you.
Dr. David Spoon: So Romans: Dr. David Spoon:We join each other through prayer.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a very powerful tool.
Dr. David Spoon:And so we need to understand that prayer works and prayer gets answered.
Dr. David Spoon:And for everybody that says it doesn't, it doesn't work for them.
Dr. David Spoon:Cause they have no faith.
Dr. David Spoon:It's just that simple.
Dr. David Spoon:And so we offer that up to you as well, as well as just an opportunity to share something the Lord's just blessed you with.
Dr. David Spoon:So Jeanette shared with me a text yesterday.
Dr. David Spoon:She had some family things going on.
Dr. David Spoon:Her son was in a car accident.
Dr. David Spoon:Her daughter's got a little procedure going on.
Dr. David Spoon:But while that's all going on, she recognized, and I thought this was really cool, that even though that stuff is going on, we should really count our blessings.
Dr. David Spoon:Because things that get tough can be much tougher.
Dr. David Spoon:And in the midst of all of this, it is the grace of God that gives us the ability to get through each one of these things, to breathe through it, to get through it, and to have something from way out yonder turn into something good.
Dr. David Spoon:Because God is able to take each circumstance and change it so that by the time it finishes, it's like A birthday cake.
Dr. David Spoon:It's for good.
Dr. David Spoon:And so the idea behind that is she just sent me kind of a text saying, hey, we really need to count our blessings.
Dr. David Spoon:We really need to be aware of that.
Dr. David Spoon:And I think that's a great thing to say, that we should be grateful for everything we get, including the opportunity to breathe, to experience, to participate, to love, to bless, to encourage, and to share with one another, as well as our time with the Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:So good call by Jeanette.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, so that's another thing that can be shared if you want to, but I do want to go in prayer for Jennifer who runs the station.
Dr. David Spoon:She is the quarterback that keeps this station flowing.
Dr. David Spoon:And so we are gonna just go into prayer for her and her dad.
Dr. David Spoon:So just join with me.
Dr. David Spoon:Take your faith.
Dr. David Spoon:You've got it in your heart.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't close your eyes if you're driving.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's pray for Jennifer and her dad.
Dr. David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now.
Dr. David Spoon:I just thank you for Jennifer.
Dr. David Spoon:She's been a blessing in my life.
Dr. David Spoon:Lord, we've been here almost six years and she has helped keep everything go and everything moving forward, everything green.
Dr. David Spoon:And she's always been there and able to get it done.
Dr. David Spoon:She answers things so fast.
Dr. David Spoon:Lord, sometimes I wonder and I just thank you for it.
Dr. David Spoon:And I ask you to bless her and her dad in this time that they're going through.
Dr. David Spoon:Just really encourage them and let them have a great sense of peace and comfort and that, Lord, I pray that comfort she would know comes from you and that it would be personalized.
Dr. David Spoon:We ask you to bless her and put your arms around her and encourage her and watch over their family.
Dr. David Spoon:We pray this in Jesus name, Amen and Amen.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, folks, that's two things we got going right there.
Dr. David Spoon:Now we're going to get into something that we haven't done yet.
Dr. David Spoon:We're going to do something on the show we haven't done yet.
Dr. David Spoon:Yes.
Dr. David Spoon:What are we doing?
Dr. David Spoon:We're going into Second Peter.
Dr. David Spoon:We're going into Second Peter.
Dr. David Spoon:We are entering the world of two Peter.
Dr. David Spoon:Get ready.
Dr. David Spoon:Here we go.
Dr. David Spoon:Second Peter one says this, Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who, through the righteousness of God, of our God and Savior Jesus Christ, have received.
Dr. David Spoon:I want to say that again.
Dr. David Spoon:Have received a faith as precious as ours.
Dr. David Spoon:Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:I know so many times you read in the book, you read the epistles and you kind of skip through.
Dr. David Spoon:You know, it's like, okay, Nice intro.
Dr. David Spoon:Got it.
Dr. David Spoon:I've written letters before.
Dr. David Spoon:I've written intros to papers before.
Dr. David Spoon:Just kind of want to get to it, get to the meat of it.
Dr. David Spoon:Sometimes you can go a little too fast.
Dr. David Spoon:So I want to back up and make sure.
Dr. David Spoon:And I do this on all the letters, all the epistles.
Dr. David Spoon:An epistle is not the wife of an apostle, but the epistle is a letter.
Dr. David Spoon:And I do it on all of them because there's always gems in the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the things that God communicates to us.
Dr. David Spoon:So let's just say welcome to the world of two, Peter.
Dr. David Spoon:This is the second, second letter that Peter has written.
Dr. David Spoon:We're not talking about the fact that he discipled John Mark and was influential on John Mark's gospel.
Dr. David Spoon:We're just talking about what Peter has written.
Dr. David Spoon:He wrote this letter about 65 or 66 AD to give you a ballpark, roughly about 35 years after the resurrection, just prior, by the way, to him being martyred.
Dr. David Spoon:His main theme in this letter is that God's grace in Jesus Christ truly transforms and empowers Christians to live the way God wants us to live, despite opposition and warfare.
Dr. David Spoon:That seems like a lot.
Dr. David Spoon:But what he's saying is, even with stuff going on, even when it's hard, even when it's difficult, the reality is that God's grace through Jesus Christ empowers us to prevail, to get past the opposition and past the warfare.
Dr. David Spoon:And if you're one of those Christians, like, I don't really understand warfare because I don't really see, like, it's happening around me.
Dr. David Spoon:That's how good the enemy is.
Dr. David Spoon:You don't even see it's happening around you.
Dr. David Spoon:So in this case, once again, false teaching.
Dr. David Spoon:Right?
Dr. David Spoon:In the early part of the church, by the way, everybody's like, the early church was awesome.
Dr. David Spoon:They had a lot of problems and false teachings were permeating the church at whole.
Dr. David Spoon:The whole church.
Dr. David Spoon:Not just one or two churches, the whole church.
Dr. David Spoon:And Peter is trying to help people stand firm in the truth.
Dr. David Spoon:Now you're going to stand firm in something one way or another.
Dr. David Spoon:It could be in rebellion.
Dr. David Spoon:It could be in politics, it could be in culture.
Dr. David Spoon:It can be in religiosity.
Dr. David Spoon:It can be in anything.
Dr. David Spoon:It could be, it's all about health, Dave.
Dr. David Spoon:It's all about money, Dave.
Dr. David Spoon:It's all about how many grandkids you have, Dave.
Dr. David Spoon:It can be any of those things.
Dr. David Spoon:All of those will be wrong.
Dr. David Spoon:It's all about the truth of the kingdom.
Dr. David Spoon:Of God through Jesus Christ.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what it's all about.
Dr. David Spoon:And he's trying to get people to stand firm in that truth, not moved by every wind of doctrine.
Dr. David Spoon:What does that mean?
Dr. David Spoon:That means that you don't easily push from one place you are in the Lord to another just because somebody comes along and says something.
Dr. David Spoon:Your faith is grounded in Jesus Christ.
Dr. David Spoon:You are built upon the foundation of the hearing and doing of the things of the kingdom of God.
Dr. David Spoon:And classic to many introductions, Simon Peter says this.
Dr. David Spoon:Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle.
Dr. David Spoon:And in this case, it's just like Paul and many other authors.
Dr. David Spoon:The first things that true Christians identify themselves is as a servant.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, titles are great.
Dr. David Spoon:They have their place, they're there for a purpose, but not when they're placed before Jesus.
Dr. David Spoon:And so Peter wants to identify as a servant and be a servant to all.
Dr. David Spoon:I've mentioned this before.
Dr. David Spoon:I was in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Dr. David Spoon:This guy came up to me and at the end of service, I'm closing up the building.
Dr. David Spoon:He goes, I just want you to know I'm an apostle.
Dr. David Spoon:I said, do real apostles have to say that?
Dr. David Spoon:See, that's kind of like the weirdness there.
Dr. David Spoon:The titles are fine.
Dr. David Spoon:It's just understanding what your real position is in Christ.
Dr. David Spoon:He's the chief shepherd.
Dr. David Spoon:Everybody else then is a sub shepherd, period.
Dr. David Spoon:So he wants to identify as a servant to make it right.
Dr. David Spoon:And he says, this letter is to those who, through the righteousness of God, of God and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dr. David Spoon:It's one phrase in the Greek.
Dr. David Spoon:So I want to read it exactly as the Greek says it.
Dr. David Spoon:To those who, through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ, have received a faith as precious as ours.
Dr. David Spoon:That's one statement in the Greek.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not split up.
Dr. David Spoon:It's not two different things.
Dr. David Spoon:It's a phenomenal phrase.
Dr. David Spoon:One phrase identifying Jesus Christ as God.
Dr. David Spoon:Listen to how it sounds in the Greek.
Dr. David Spoon:To those who, through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ, one statement, one flow.
Dr. David Spoon:Very, very, very powerful.
Dr. David Spoon:And then he says, have received a faith as precious as ours.
Dr. David Spoon:I get a little irritated.
Dr. David Spoon:From some people, it's like, well, you receive it, you receive it.
Dr. David Spoon:That's exactly what you do.
Dr. David Spoon:You know, when they throw the ball in football, the guy uses his arms and he grabs the ball.
Dr. David Spoon:He receives it.
Dr. David Spoon:He's called.
Dr. David Spoon:Wait, what's he called?
Dr. David Spoon:I'm going to ask Jacob, because Jacob knows these things.
Dr. David Spoon:What is the position in football where the guy's called a wide blank, where he goes out and catches the ball.
Dr. David Spoon:When they throw the ball.
Dr. David Spoon:What's he called?
Dr. David Spoon:A wide.
Dr. David Spoon:Wide receiver.
Dr. David Spoon:Receiver.
Dr. David Spoon:You see, he's a receiver.
Dr. David Spoon:He's receiving.
Dr. David Spoon:Some people don't like to receipt for whatever reason why God is giving it out.
Dr. David Spoon:Why?
Dr. David Spoon:I mean, it's like God receive it.
Dr. David Spoon:Here, here.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm going to bless you.
Dr. David Spoon:No, I don't think so.
Dr. David Spoon:I'm not going to be a receiver today.
Dr. David Spoon:You know what else is a receiver?
Dr. David Spoon:When you get radio waves and you use your little radio, that's a receiver.
Dr. David Spoon:It receives the radio.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what we go.
Dr. David Spoon:That's what we are.
Dr. David Spoon:And Peter says it's a faith as precious as ours.
Dr. David Spoon:Why is our faith precious?
Dr. David Spoon:Precious.
Dr. David Spoon:You want to know why?
Dr. David Spoon:Because our faith grants us right standing with God and a phenomenal eternity.
Dr. David Spoon:Man, if you're looking for something to hope for, can I just be that person that says to you what is coming for you is so phenomenal you will not even give a thought.
Dr. David Spoon:You won't even have a moment of a thought of the difficulties or the trials or the troubles.
Dr. David Spoon:There is such a grace coming for you.
Dr. David Spoon:It is so powerful that in the texts it says it's not worthy to be compared to any troubles.
Dr. David Spoon:Paul says our light and momentary trouble is not to be compared to the glory that's going to follow.
Dr. David Spoon:So the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ has granted us a position that we have through faith to receive this faith.
Dr. David Spoon:And it's precious.
Dr. David Spoon:It is a precious faith.
Dr. David Spoon:You know what?
Dr. David Spoon:It is precious?
Dr. David Spoon:It's the preciousness of.
Dr. David Spoon:You blew it.
Dr. David Spoon:You come before the Lord and he gives you a hug and loves you because he's the best parent ever.
Dr. David Spoon:Whatever your image is of a parent, it's not good enough when you connect it to God.
Dr. David Spoon:Wow, Dave, that's that first one verse?
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, get ready.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's your trivia question.
Dr. David Spoon:In which book of the Bible do we find the story of Samson and Delilah?
Dr. David Spoon:In which book of the Bible do we find the story of Samson and Delilah?
Dr. David Spoon:In Judges, Numbers, Exodus or First John?
Dr. David Spoon:In which book of the Bible do we find the story of Samson and Delilah?
Dr. David Spoon:I know there's a couple songs along those lines.
Dr. David Spoon:Is it in Judges, Numbers, Exodus or First John?
Dr. David Spoon:The story of Samson and Delilah?
Dr. David Spoon:If you think you know you can reach out to us.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:You can send an email david@hemustincrease.org davidemustincrease.org in which book of the Bible do we find the story of Samson and Delilah?
Dr. David Spoon:Is it Judges, Numbers, Exodus, or First John?
Dr. David Spoon:That is your opportunity to respond.
Dr. David Spoon:In the meantime, I will take advantage of the time and send you up to the website.
Dr. David Spoon:Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Dr. David Spoon: Here's Deuteronomy: Dr. David Spoon:Give generously to the needy, and do not let your heart be grieved when you do so.
Dr. David Spoon:And because of this, the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything to which you put your hand.
Dr. David Spoon: Deuteronomy: Dr. David Spoon:Consider that as you consider giving and supporting the ministry.
Dr. David Spoon:How's that for simple?
Dr. David Spoon:Check it out on hemustincrease.org prayer request.
Dr. David Spoon:Hemostincrease.org praise report.
Dr. David Spoon:He mustincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.
Dr. David Spoon:He mustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.
Dr. David Spoon:He must.
Dr. David Spoon:Increase.org hemustincrease.org I just saw that the other day on the television.
Dr. David Spoon:That's really funny.
Dr. David Spoon:That's just great.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, so here's your question.
Dr. David Spoon:Very simple, very straightforward.
Dr. David Spoon:Shouldn't be complex for too many people.
Dr. David Spoon:In which book of the Bible do we find the story of Samson and Delilah?
Dr. David Spoon:Judges, numbers, Exodus, first John.
Dr. David Spoon:Here's your only hint.
Dr. David Spoon:Think of that television show with that guy whose name was Wapner.
Dr. David Spoon:Think if you can figure that, or Judy, figure that out.
Dr. David Spoon:That might help you figure out what the answer is to that question.
Dr. David Spoon: -: Dr. David Spoon:I don't know what's going on this week.
Dr. David Spoon:I've just been, like, on fire.
Dr. David Spoon:Fire.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay.
Dr. David Spoon:Anyway, verse two says this, grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Now, I love these things because these are the littlest things that you think.
Dr. David Spoon:Yeah, yeah, I've read that before.
Dr. David Spoon:Stop, stop, stop.
Dr. David Spoon:Typical to the introduction of these letters.
Dr. David Spoon:He's asking for grace and peace to be multiplied to his readers, but it's through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:So I know some people get tired of me banging this drum, but the beat is pretty straightforward knowledge.
Dr. David Spoon:You're dealing with epigenosa, not ginosa.
Dr. David Spoon:Epigenosa.
Dr. David Spoon:Contact knowledge.
Dr. David Spoon:There is peace and grace multiplied to you and to me through our contact knowledge of God and of Jesus.
Dr. David Spoon:Just think about that for a split second.
Dr. David Spoon:Just consider that epigonosa.
Dr. David Spoon:Contact knowledge has to do with spending private time with the Lord, both in prayer and His Word, so that we can know him, not just know of Him.
Dr. David Spoon:Did you catch that?
Dr. David Spoon:So we can know him, not just know of Him.
Dr. David Spoon:It's awesome that people can know of God but will do nothing for them.
Dr. David Spoon:We need to know God.
Dr. David Spoon:So the key to any relationship, in case you're wondering, because I know most of you have been in some form of a relationship, is communication.
Dr. David Spoon:Can I say that again?
Dr. David Spoon:I just want to make sure it's not even a brilliant thought.
Dr. David Spoon:The key to any relationship is communication.
Dr. David Spoon:The number one reason husbands and wives get a divorce is communication.
Dr. David Spoon:People think it's sex.
Dr. David Spoon:Nope, that's three.
Dr. David Spoon:It's money.
Dr. David Spoon:Nope, that's two.
Dr. David Spoon:Number one is communication.
Dr. David Spoon:Communication involves both sharing and listening.
Dr. David Spoon:We're getting a social study today here.
Dr. David Spoon:Sharing and listening.
Dr. David Spoon:Talking, listening and hearing.
Dr. David Spoon:Talking and hearing.
Dr. David Spoon:That's why we read His Word.
Dr. David Spoon:So he's talking to us and we're listening.
Dr. David Spoon:And in prayer, we share our heart with Him.
Dr. David Spoon:That's our part talking to Him.
Dr. David Spoon:Now he knows both sides of it.
Dr. David Spoon:That's not the issue.
Dr. David Spoon:The issue is, that's the core of relationship.
Dr. David Spoon:Sharing and listening.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the key.
Dr. David Spoon:That happens through prayer, that happens through His Word.
Dr. David Spoon:And now here's what Peter saying, hey, you know what?
Dr. David Spoon:Through that process, grace, unmerited favor and peace, which has to do with rest and order are multiplied to us because, listen, because we're connecting with our Maker.
Dr. David Spoon:I can't get any rest in this.
Dr. David Spoon:I can't get any peace in this.
Dr. David Spoon:I could tell you where to go.
Dr. David Spoon:I can't find any grace in this.
Dr. David Spoon:I can tell you where to go.
Dr. David Spoon:Hebrews 4:16.
Dr. David Spoon:I've come to the throne of grace with confidence.
Dr. David Spoon:The throne of grace with confidence.
Dr. David Spoon:To receive mercy and to find grace in my time of need.
Dr. David Spoon:That's where you find it in him.
Dr. David Spoon:To the throne of grace you go.
Dr. David Spoon:To the throne of peace you go.
Dr. David Spoon:That's where you find it.
Dr. David Spoon:Isn't that beautiful?
Dr. David Spoon:That's just the intro.
Dr. David Spoon:Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God our Father and Jesus our Lord.
Dr. David Spoon:Contact knowledge.
Dr. David Spoon:Okay, your trivia question.
Dr. David Spoon:In which book of the Bible do we find the story Samson and Delilah?
Dr. David Spoon:Is that Judges, numbers, Exodus or First John?
Dr. David Spoon:The answer is Judges number and Exodus are in the Torah.
Dr. David Spoon:First, John is in the New Testament, so it's judges.
Dr. David Spoon:Because Samson was a judge, like Wapner and Judge Judy.
Dr. David Spoon:Thanks.
Dr. David Spoon:All right, we'll take our break and then come back.
Dr. David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truce station here in Texas.
Dr. David Spoon:Short break.
Dr. David Spoon:We'll be back.
Dr. David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
Jammin Jacob:I was driving down I30 yesterday, and when it was stop and go traffic, there's, I guess, an accident up ahead.
Jammin Jacob:So I was Putting along at 20 miles an hour, 15 miles an hour, and this little sports car would speed up and get right beside me, and then he fall back.
Jammin Jacob:You know, just kind of.
Jammin Jacob:We're shuffling back and forth.
Jammin Jacob:He'd go.
Jammin Jacob:And I go.
Jammin Jacob:And he'd go, and I go.
Jammin Jacob:And I just was watching out the corner of my eye and just kind of mindlessly driving at 20 miles an hour.
Jammin Jacob:And then all of a sudden, I hear this little beep, beepee, beep, beep, beep, beep.
Jammin Jacob:And I said, oh, what did I do?
Jammin Jacob:I looked out of the corner of my eye, and he drove right up next to me.
Jammin Jacob:You had his windows rolled down.
Jammin Jacob:And he gave me a big old thumbs up.
Jammin Jacob:I said, what does he give me a thumbs up for?
Jammin Jacob:I was kind of expecting when you have somebody honking at you, expecting something else, you know?
Jammin Jacob:And then I realized I have that bumper sticker on.
Jammin Jacob:That's.
Jammin Jacob:It's.
Jammin Jacob:No, God created the universe.
Jammin Jacob:He can write a book.
Jammin Jacob:And then he just sped off.
Jammin Jacob:Not.
Jammin Jacob:Well, he slowly drove off at 20 miles an hour.
Jammin Jacob:But I just thought that was neat.
Jammin Jacob:That's the first time that anybody really gives a thumbs up for a bumper sticker.
Jammin Jacob:Usually people that have bumper stickers, it's to hold their bumper on their car.
Jammin Jacob:But I just wanted to share that story.
Dr. David Spoon:That is an awesome story.
Dr. David Spoon:First of all, it's really good that he gave you a thumbs up and didn't use any other fingers.
Dr. David Spoon:So let's just say that's for sure.
Dr. David Spoon:And then the other part about that is that that's cool, because whether he's listening to the show or not, he agrees with you, Knows that that's true.
Dr. David Spoon:Hey, look, God created the universe.
Dr. David Spoon:The dude can write a book.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's just get that.
Dr. David Spoon:Let's get that squared away, you know?
Jammin Jacob:Yes.
Jammin Jacob:And you know what?
Jammin Jacob:He might be listening to the story, to the.
Jammin Jacob:To the radio now.
Dr. David Spoon:That's exactly right.
Dr. David Spoon:What a blessing.
Dr. David Spoon:That's cool.
Dr. David Spoon:And we do have those bumper stickers.
Dr. David Spoon:We only have so many, but we were as we get this, we're going to do an ambassador program, and that'll give people an opportunity to put the bumper sticker on the car if they want to.
Dr. David Spoon:And nobody wants you to do anything to your car you don't want to.
Dr. David Spoon:But I really, really appreciate you sharing that story, and that is a great story.
Dr. David Spoon:And see, every time we're in traffic, we think something bad's going to happen.
Dr. David Spoon:Instead, hey, there was something good that happened.
Dr. David Spoon:Somebody standing with you in the faith, perhaps a fellow listener, saying, right on.
Dr. David Spoon:That's the right target.
Dr. David Spoon:I bet that blessed you at the moment, didn't it?
Jammin Jacob:It sure did.
Jammin Jacob:It sure did.
Dr. David Spoon:That's cool.
Dr. David Spoon:That's a great story.
Dr. David Spoon:I mean, I love that.
Dr. David Spoon:Oh, good job.
Dr. David Spoon:Good job in being an ambassador.
Dr. David Spoon:Just by sharing that bumper sticker and just by proclaiming the truth.
Dr. David Spoon:Some people will read that and they might go, I don't know.
Dr. David Spoon:But it sure challenges a lot of people, doesn't it?
Dr. David Spoon:It's like, you got to think that through, don't you?
Dr. David Spoon:The David Spoon experience.
