The David Spoon Experience 12-8-22 Part 2
1) Even as Peter was speaking: here is the first significant point to understand. God does not care nearly as much about procedures as you, and I do. You would think that the Lord would be kind enough to let Peter finish his sermon. After all, he is pouring out his heart and faith into these people. News Flash: God does not care nor wait when He wants to accomplish something. 2) Here is the second significant point to understand. While Peter is speaking, the Holy Spirit falls upon those listening. The Holy Spirit comes after the Gospel, in this case. In other cases, the Holy Spirit comes before the Gospel. Titus 3:10: He saved us by cleansing the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit (modified, amplified). And Psalm 10:17 says, “LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart.” 3) And the third point: The book of Acts is not sequential regarding how the Gospel comes to people. That’s up to God. Not our man-made order forms. In Acts 19, the disciples didn’t have the Holy Spirit until after they were baptized. Not during their salvation response. The Holy Spirit comes after the Gospel too. So, let’s stop the boxing-in for salvation. Oh yeah…the proof of the Holy Spirit was tongues after Acts 10 pouring out for the Gentiles. So, get over it. It’s up to God.
