Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience. This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Initially denying Jesus does NOT mean always denying Jesus. This is evidenced at the crucifixion. The people were following a mob mentality and didn’t realize the depth of their sinful ways. That is why Jesus asked the Father to forgive them (Luke 23:34). But each person was, and is, going to have a revisit. And how they proceed will help them understand where they will proceed. 2) It is an amazing reality that we often do the opposite of what we should do. Not always, but often. Here, as Peter retells the story of the redeeming work of Jesus and His sacrifice, the people end up seeking to kill the one person who can grant them the quality and the quantity of the life they seek. That’s how bad sin messes people up. 3) His name. The name of Jesus. What does the name signify? His position, His authority, and His realm! What does it mean to have faith in His name? It means that, like the centurion, we have faith in the authority of Jesus Christ. When we have faith in the name of Jesus, we have faith that Jesus has all authority in Heaven and on earth. So, do we believe the scriptures (Matthew 28:18-20) or not?
