The David Spoon Experience Part 2 7-8-2022
This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Pastor Tommy Barnett preached a message at Phoenix First Assembly in Phoenix, Arizona. His purpose was to warn Christians about being reaction-oriented instead of action-oriented. Although this sermon was preached in the 1980s, the principle still stands firm. When we have a situation that arises (and who doesn’t), how we engage with it speaks of our maturity. De we re-act? Do we freak out, kick, scream, yell, and throw a fit? Or do we take the biblical action instead? We examine the example that King Hezekiah left us to follow. 2) Everyone likes to be acknowledged as alive. No problem there, as God acknowledges by paying the blood of Jesus for us. Everybody wants to be well thought of. Slight problem there because of John 12:43, which reads, for they loved human praise more than praise from God. Too many people want to be known, well thought of, popular, and adored. HUGE problems there because if everyone likes you, you may be projecting a different image than God designed for you. Not good. 3) The concept of smoking a peace pipe is excellent. If that is racist, then peace is racist. Nice try, woke weasels. The truth is that Matthew 5:9 states, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. So that’s awesome. Unless it is peace with the Devil. Or the anti-God world, or with the fleshly. If you want to be an enemy of God, become a friend of the world (James 4:4). Take a chance, play with fire.
