The David Spoon Experience 5-2-23 Part 2
A) A return to last week, with a little more addon in the review: No one else taught me that this portion of the text is immense. We need to understand that our faith is not something that is just taught but something that is also caught. We cannot simply be Christians by being academically motorized and homogenized into a conformity system of thought and thinking. That is NOT what the gospel is. The Gospel is in opposition to that because The Gospel sets people free from their need to process analytically and perfectly.
B) And then, something happened: Okay, truth be told, this is my favorite little verse in this text. And then something happened. I think we could use this for a thousand different events in our lives, including the initial prayer in which we submit to and call upon the name of the Lord according to Romans 10:13. But we can use this for every subsequent prayer. And then something happened! It changes everything when God shows up. Life changes. Lord, please show up in all of our lives!
C) Finally, He chose me, called me, and revealed Jesus to me: This is a massive dose of underserved theology for each one of us. God chooses us, votes for us, and selected us. Then He calls us, pulls us, tags us. Then He reveals Himself to us in Jesus Christ. He opens our minds and hearts so we can “get it.” Do we get it?
