The David Spoon Experience 3-20-23 Part 2
1) How short is life and full of trouble. This passage is one of my favorites; although used here, it is highly negative. I think Job is right. But of course, he is also wrong. He complains about life, and then he complains about how short it is. Not exactly a perfect match for Match-Game. I like it because it reminds me that my trouble won’t last and Job is wrong about the few.
2) You have decided the length of our time. So that no one will ever forget God is in charge of our personal bio clock, no matter what the government, the media, the influencers, or the scholars say. You will NOT endure one second longer than the Lord appoints. Psalm 39:4 states, LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered!
3) As much as I love Job, it is here that he has a definitive limited understanding of the Lord God Almighty. He said, “This thought would give me hope.” As of right now, Job knows this hope is real. And we do too. God has told us in Romans 4:17, As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
