The David Spoon Experience 3-13-23 Part 2
1) Job speaks the truth to his “friends,” which would be a good thing to remember when we have differences from other Christians. These are not differences between believers and unbelievers. Then Job says, “You are no better than me.” He also tells them, “And…you are lying about me.” Then Job gives the same advice he gave before. And it still applies. He says, “Do me a favor…shut up. That is the best thing that you can do.” Even as a talk show host, I know that talking is not always the answer.
2) Job continues responding to his miserable comforters, who are miserable at comforting. He does make a fairly intriguing point when he states that he is NOT godless. He will argue with God in a bit, but at this moment, he is pointing out to his buddies that he is not a person who has no regard for God or His truths.
3) And now, with a huge amount of less wisdom, Job directs his argument towards God. And what is his brilliant plan of challenging God? What absolute insight does Job have that gave him the fortitude to challenge God? He asked God to answer Him to prove he was unrighteous, he asked God to tell him what he did wrong. What he did wrong was ASSUME that what was happening to him was happening because he had done wrong. He was wrong.
