The David Spoon Experience 3-1-24 part 2
1) We delve into the moment when Moses and Aaron meet Pharaoh. Undoubtedly, there is tension. Moses declares to Pharaoh that the Lord God has commanded, "Let my people go, so they may hold a festival for me in the wilderness." Remember, Pharaoh was filled with pride, and God hardened his heart. Consequently, his response to Moses was, "Who is the Lord that I should obey him?" He then makes his own damning declaration by saying, "I don’t know the Lord." This will be the testimony for all those who do not spend eternity with God.
2) Our next devotional involves the Queen of Sheba. She is highly regarded because she possessed a wealth of spices. That's impressive. However, she made profound and powerful statements about Solomon and God. She asserts that Solomon’s reputation fell short of his actual deeds. This might sound a bit odd, but I believe we face a similar issue. The reputation of God lags behind His actual activity in our lives. The outcomes of these extraordinary activities are the truest joys for mankind.
3) Our often-appreciated eternal friend, Pastor Ray, is not "gone" but is in the company of Jesus Christ. We will never forget him here on earth because his kingdom’s efforts continue to resonate with us. Pastor Ray wrote about how our gracious God turns bitterness into blessings. God’s grace is all around us, and we often fail to notice it. The power of living grace is glorious. Without witnessing His grace in action, we miss His love and kindness.
4) To conclude this week, here's one of my favorite teachings about praying in the manner that Jesus instructed. Anything that Jesus teaches serves as an excellent strategy for us to follow. When the disciples asked Him how they should pray, Jesus provided a very specific answer, which might differ from what one might expect. While there must be a certain sense of reverence because we are approaching the Almighty God, there is also another characteristic that must be considered. We need to use ALL the tools at our disposal.
