The David Spoon Experience 2-5-24 part 2
1) Dave tackles Genesis. Chapter 2 verses 11 through 20. Ironically, the spoon man forgets his notes, but he does his best to break it down into 4 compartments. The first is understanding that God placed Adam in the garden. In order to take care of and tend to the garden, one of the things that people miss is there's things that God brings into our lives. That he wants us to take care of and tend to. No, this is not a scriptural reference to God being environmentalist the way that the world thinks, because the only pollution God sees is sin. Which is what defiles the land.
2) God gives a very specific warning to Adam regarding the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He was entitled to eat any fruit from any tree he wanted in the entire garden except the one tree. He could have anything he wanted, including the tree of life. Which is what he should have grabbed. But he just couldn't have the one. Tree. Because the result of that warning is Mankind. Would be introducing death into the race. It's iconic to understand. That. Death is progressive in multiple areas. The immediate death was spiritual, the last death is physical and all the deaths that are in between.
3) Next up. The Lord tries to help Adam understand that it is not good for him to be alone. Which is a great testimony and example for you and I to understand that God doesn't want us to be Lone Wolf Mcquade Christians. We cannot afford to be Mr. or Miss in Mr. or missus independence. We need to depend on one another and that was how God created mankind. That is the design before sin entered and that is the continued design as Jesus gave his life a ransom for many. For the brethren, your brothers and sisters are supposed to be a part of your life. Running away from fellowship is not OK.
