The David Spoon Experience 2-13-23 Part 2 1000 SHOWS
1) Job Continues down his spiral of discouragement. He makes a statement that many of us make. It’s all the same to God, one way or another. While it’s true that our opinions don’t hold weight, it’s false to think that our hearts do not. And as the children of God, he knows our hearts. But when you make statements like the entire world is in the hands of The wicked. Then you know you’re having a pretty bad day.
2) Here is a crucial Jesus text; Job says, in verse 33 of Chapter 9; if only there were a mediator who could bring us together. If only a person could bridge the gap between the Divine and the human. If only somebody could understand his hurt and pain and faithfully represent God in the engagement. This is where The author of Ecclesiastes proves his knowledge as limited, though he thought himself exceedingly wise. Nevertheless, there is a new thing under the sun. His name is Jesus, and He is the mediator between God and mankind.
3) It’s worth noting that as we reflect on Job, he’s speaking directly from his pain at this particular point. When he or anyone else who’s an authentic believer speaks from pain, it usually doesn’t come out sounding like roses.
