12-18-24 part 1: Psalm 59: Awakening God's Timing in Our Lives with Dr. David Spoon
This episode of the David Spoon Experience delves into the theme of forgiveness, prompting listeners to reflect on who in their lives needs forgiveness and whether they are actively working towards it. Dr. Spoon emphasizes the importance of forgiving others as a vital aspect of Christian living, highlighting that true forgiveness involves not only letting go of past grievances but also moving forward without holding onto resentment. The discussion transitions into a profound exploration of Psalm 59, where David calls upon God for help amid his struggles, illustrating the human desire for divine intervention and timing. Throughout the episode, Dr. Spoon reassures listeners that although it may feel like God is distant or inactive, His timing and plans are always perfect. With a mix of personal anecdotes and biblical teaching, this episode encourages a deeper understanding of faith, mercy, and the significance of community support during challenging times.
The episode takes a deeper dive into Psalm 59, where Dr. Spoon reflects on David's plea for deliverance amidst adversaries. He highlights the poetic nature of David's cries to God, interpreting the metaphor of God 'waking up' as a call for divine intervention. This resonates with listeners who often feel as though God is distant during their struggles. Spoon expertly balances humor with serious reflection, reminding the audience that while it is natural to feel the pressure of life's challenges, God's timing is always perfect. He reassures listeners that even in moments of desperation, they can find solace in the faithfulness of God, who is their ultimate defense.

David Spoon:David Spoon.
David Spoon:I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
David Spoon:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
David Spoon:Here is the key to the show.
David Spoon:We don't know what we're doing.
David Spoon:We have no idea what's gonna happen and we don't care.
David Spoon:But for the next few minutes, I want to talk truth with you.
David Spoon:So here we go.
David Spoon:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
David Spoon:And I hesitate to ask this question, but let me ask you this question because it's a challenging one.
David Spoon:When I say to you, who is it that needs to be forgiven by you in your life?
David Spoon:Who comes to mind and are we forgiving them?
David Spoon:When I say, who do we need to forgive?
David Spoon:Who comes to mind?
David Spoon:You don't even have to answer me, just who comes to mind?
David Spoon:It's a simple question.
David Spoon:Are we forgiving them?
David Spoon:Are we even working on forgiving them?
David Spoon:I love it when people go, well, I'll forgive, but I'll never forget.
David Spoon:The Bible says love keeps no record or wrong.
David Spoon:So yeah, doesn't mean you're supposed to be an idiot twice, but it's does mean you can't keep it at the forefront of your thoughts.
David Spoon:Keeping it simple, who do we need to forgive?
David Spoon:And are we Forgiving them just in consideration.
David Spoon:Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have debts against us.
David Spoon:That's the question that I am probing with today.
David Spoon:Simple.
David Spoon:If you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or your own question, please don't let it die of loneliness.
David Spoon:Just reach out and give us a call.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:Talking to Jammin Jacob is like feeling confident that you have done your very best.
Jammin Jacob:Thank you, David.
Jammin Jacob:Happy Wednesday.
David Spoon:Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.
David Spoon:Anything happening here in the old, old bunker of truth?
David Spoon:Anything going on in the old stationaroo?
Jammin Jacob:Nothing too new.
Jammin Jacob:Just working on the recordings of the book today.
Jammin Jacob:Got some more done, so just grinding and working on that.
David Spoon:Good.
David Spoon:That's good to hear.
David Spoon:I want everybody to know there is a schedule change coming up.
David Spoon:We do want to remind people on Friday, Texas A and M basketball will be playing and we will not be on the air on Friday.
David Spoon:We'll be back on the air on Monday.
David Spoon:And then on Monday we'll talk about the modified schedule for that coming week as well as for New Year's.
David Spoon:Of course, this is a little tougher time for the ministry because there's less live material.
David Spoon:It's one of the things you gotta deal with.
David Spoon:But it's okie dokie artichoke.
David Spoon:Okay, I like that.
David Spoon:All right, here it is.
Jammin Jacob:I can't believe Christmas is a week away.
David Spoon:I mean, what happened, right?
Jammin Jacob:Year flew by.
David Spoon:You blink and then boom.
David Spoon:And then on Sunday night, we have the first of the families coming into the household that's only gonna be six people.
David Spoon:And then there'll be more people and more people and more people.
David Spoon:So I was looking up flights to Hawaii, but I couldn't find anybody at anything at a reasonable price.
David Spoon:So anyway, I'll be there.
David Spoon:Noel said, oh, don't be Mr.
David Spoon:Bah humbug.
David Spoon:Just remember, just remember to think, what do you want for Christmas?
David Spoon:And you know what I said in my reply in my text?
David Spoon:I want no Christmas for Christmas.
David Spoon:Come on.
Jammin Jacob:So you're saying starting Sunday, your house is going to turn into the Griswold Christmas.
David Spoon:It's a house full of that is well and probably not far off from that movie.
David Spoon:Certain things that happen in that movie, I must say.
David Spoon:Anyway, so it should be kind of fun.
David Spoon:We'll see what takes place.
David Spoon:Look, and if you want to reach out to us, we want you to be able to do that.
David Spoon:And we understand sometimes the holidays is tougher for some people.
David Spoon:Don't get weird on us.
David Spoon:We're aware that some people go through a greater struggle.
David Spoon:Fully get it.
David Spoon:Fully understand.
David Spoon:All of us have been in this place where it's up to down all around.
David Spoon:The most important thing about anything in regards to Christmas is where the focus is.
David Spoon:And if anything we do or anything we engage with helps us to focus more on Jesus, then the answer is yes and amen.
David Spoon:Get that?
David Spoon:Pretty straightforward.
David Spoon:Now.
David Spoon:If you want to reach out to us, you're more than welcome to do that.
David Spoon:We've already told you the phone number.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:You are also welcome to text us.
David Spoon:Not Texas, text us.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:That again is the ministry phone number.
David Spoon:But during the show, it's text only.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Making that simple.
David Spoon:On top of that, you can also send an email, David at He must increase.
David Spoon:That's my name, David, with a circle.
David Spoon:He must increase.
David Spoon:From John 3:30.
David Spoon:He must increase.
David Spoon:I must decrease.org because we're a nonprofit corporation.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Please keep aware of that schedule change that I mentioned.
David Spoon:By the way, why would you reach out to us?
David Spoon:It could be for a praise report.
David Spoon:We wanna give you that opportunity, that venue, to share something that the Lord's done in your life.
David Spoon:The reason that we do that is because it strengthens it in your own life, which is our goal.
David Spoon:It blesses other people, which is our goal.
David Spoon:And it brings glory to God, which is our goal.
David Spoon:Additionally, if you've got a prayer request, same truth all along.
David Spoon:When we join together in prayer for one another, we're joining each other's struggles.
David Spoon:We're fulfilling the law of Christ.
David Spoon:We're doing exactly what Jesus commanded us to do by loving one another as I have loved you.
David Spoon:Jesus said in John 13.
David Spoon:And we're caring and sharing and we're laughing and crying together as the body of Christ.
David Spoon:That's what you do.
David Spoon:On top of that, maybe you just got something.
David Spoon:Really?
David Spoon:I was driving by, never saw that.
David Spoon:My neighbor put a scripture out there, put something up there, didn't even know my neighbor was a Christian.
David Spoon:So blessed.
David Spoon:That's kind of cool thing I like to hear as well.
David Spoon:Awesome.
David Spoon:Great stuff.
David Spoon:As you know, we'll get into Bible trivia a little later on.
David Spoon:There's a couple things I'm going to be sharing with you as well.
David Spoon:But right now, for those who do not know where we are in the venture of our process of teaching, we are in the Psalms.
David Spoon:And there's little better than the Psalms for connecting to how the reader is communicating their feelings, their thoughts at the moment.
David Spoon:I mean, there's just so many great things when you read the Psalms.
David Spoon:It's amazing.
David Spoon:Sometimes you'll read a psalm and you'll go, that's exactly how I feel.
David Spoon:Or you'll say, that's exactly what I was thinking.
David Spoon:Well, that's not an accident, is it?
David Spoon:Nope, it's not an accident.
David Spoon:So we're gonna pick it back up.
David Spoon:We are in Psalm 59.
David Spoon:For those that do not remember, this is the psalm that David is asking for deliverance as Saul and his men are looking to take him out, take him down, do a hit job on him.
David Spoon:That's what Saul and his men are looking to do.
David Spoon:We're in Psalm 59.
David Spoon:Didn't really get to verse four or five.
David Spoon:Actually, it's verse four and five and I wanted to get to it because it is important.
David Spoon:Verse 4 in Psalm 59 says this.
David Spoon:This, they run and prepare themselves through no fault of my own.
David Spoon:And then David says, awake to help me and behold you.
David Spoon:Therefore, O Lord, God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to punish them.
David Spoon:Do not be merciful to any of the wicked transgressors.
David Spoon:I want to make sure everybody understands that when David is saying in the Psalms, awake to help me awake to punish these people, that this is a use of poetry.
David Spoon:You're thinking, why is it a use of poetry, Dave?
David Spoon:Because God is actually not sleeping.
David Spoon:The term is used because it feels like to us human beings that God is asleep now.
David Spoon:He's not.
David Spoon:He's never asleep.
David Spoon:I just cannot say, the Lord does not slumber.
David Spoon:The Lord's not.
David Spoon:And this is one of the problems with the spiritualists and people that have these different theories of Christianity.
David Spoon:There's a theory that God had created the universe, created mankind, did all this stuff, and then went to Jupiter to hang out for the next couple thousand years.
Speaker C:It's ridiculous.
David Spoon:It's absolutely absurd.
David Spoon:Nothing in scripture indicates that God is active.
David Spoon:He's always working.
David Spoon:There's always process taking place.
David Spoon:Behold, I make all things new.
David Spoon:There Are things taking place that we don't understand beyond our reasoning, beyond our understanding.
David Spoon:And then we're going through the process and what David says is awake, not that God is sleeping, but that he wants God to move.
David Spoon:Have you ever felt like that?
David Spoon:Well, then you should identify with David.
David Spoon:Get up.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:What happened when Jesus was in the boat with the disciples and the wind and the waves were coming?
David Spoon:What was Jesus doing in the stern?
David Spoon:He was asleep.
David Spoon:Get up.
David Spoon:Get up.
David Spoon:What are you doing?
David Spoon:Wake up.
David Spoon:So it's important for us to understand something about God and how it feels to us and what it really is.
David Spoon:And that's the distinction right there.
David Spoon:That is, for many Christians, the primary struggle.
David Spoon:There's a couple of main struggles people go through.
David Spoon:One is remembering that God loves us the same way that we thought he loved us when we said yes.
David Spoon:The other part is recognizing forgiveness.
David Spoon:It's a very big struggle for many because they know they've been forgiven.
David Spoon:But then, since then, done a lot of things and remember, the devil's the accuser of the brethren, and he's the one that's throwing accusations at people.
David Spoon:God's not accusing.
David Spoon:The devil's the accuser.
David Spoon:That's a second area.
David Spoon:Here is a third, the timing and procedures and methodologies of God.
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon:Are you sleeping?
David Spoon:Wake up.
David Spoon:I need some help.
David Spoon:So remembering the love, understanding forgiveness is eternal and operating in trust in regards to God's timing.
David Spoon:So David's like, wake up.
David Spoon:It's not wrong to use that term.
David Spoon:It's David's way of saying, help.
David Spoon:He knows he's not waking God up.
David Spoon:He knows what's going on.
David Spoon:It's a communication.
David Spoon:It's a connection going.
David Spoon:Could you get going?
David Spoon:Okay, let's stop being the God of molasses.
David Spoon:Let's start being the God, help me out in this moment thingy right here.
David Spoon:Now, David's not mad about it.
David Spoon:He's trying to push.
David Spoon:He's trying to get God to go.
David Spoon:But he also recognizes in the rest of this psalm that God's timing is perfect.
David Spoon:You're thinking, well, how does he go about that?
David Spoon:I mean, he's telling God to wake up.
David Spoon:Then what happens?
David Spoon:Great question.
David Spoon:Let's look.
David Spoon:I mean, I'm really glad you asked.
David Spoon:Verse 6, it says, @ evening they return.
David Spoon:They growl like a dog.
David Spoon:He's talking about his enemies.
David Spoon:They go all around the city, and instead they belch with their mouths.
David Spoon:Swords are in their lips.
David Spoon:For they say, who hears?
David Spoon:But, O Lord, you shall laugh at them.
David Spoon:You shall have all the nations in Derision.
David Spoon:I will wait for you, O you.
David Spoon:I will wait for you, you.
David Spoon:My strength for God is my defense.
David Spoon:Listen to what David says.
David Spoon:He's telling God, wake up.
David Spoon:Come on, come on, let's go.
David Spoon:Wake up, wake up.
David Spoon:Okay?
David Spoon:But then after he's telling God to wake up, he makes a comment about how disgusting the people are.
David Spoon:And let's be honest, he's just saying what it is.
David Spoon:He says, they growl like dogs.
David Spoon:They belch with their mouths, they cry out.
David Spoon:He's like, you know, they say, who can hear?
David Spoon:This is a unique way of saying, these people are slobs.
David Spoon:They're disgusting people.
David Spoon:You know, the kind nobody really wants to hang around because they think it's funny when they burp in your face.
David Spoon:They're mocking everybody, saying, who can hear?
David Spoon:It's like their way of saying, I'll do whatever I want.
David Spoon:I don't care.
David Spoon:David's response is, you'll laugh at them and you'll drop them in your contempt.
David Spoon:But then he says, I will wait for you, O God, my strength.
David Spoon:So in the beginning of this psalm, he says, wake up, wake up.
David Spoon:Let's go.
David Spoon:Come on, come on, come on.
David Spoon:But as he's communing with God, as he's connecting with God, as he's drawing into the Lord and recognizing the depth and the righteousness and the perfection of God, he states, I will wait on you.
David Spoon:Hear that?
David Spoon:Right there.
David Spoon:Why that's important for us to grasp, why it's important is because it's not that it's wrong to pursue God.
David Spoon:It's not that it's wrong to try and push, but it is also right to go, come on, Lord, wake up, wake up.
David Spoon:But I am going to stay steadfast in my faith, in my commitment, in my position of trusting you, that what your timing, God is perfect.
David Spoon:And let's at least be honest as Bible believing born again Christians who are loved by the Lord, who are forgiven, and who have never been failed by God.
David Spoon:When we're feeling the pressure, I'm feeling pressure.
David Spoon:I'll talk about it later.
David Spoon:When we're feeling the pressure.
David Spoon:God is not feeling the pressure.
David Spoon:He knows we're feeling the pressure, but God's not going, oh, no, I gotta respond right away to help Dave out.
David Spoon:Oh, no, what am I gonna do?
David Spoon:That is not what's happening.
David Spoon:What's happening is that the Lord's plan is perfect.
David Spoon:It reveals itself or it's unveiled perfectly in perfect timing at every moment.
David Spoon:Keep in mind that God, who told an entire nation in 400 years, you're going to be delivered from this place through a prophetic word, literally delivered them physically from that nation 400 years to the day.
David Spoon:Could you imagine the ability, the divine ability and strength to pull off that A Nation exits 400 years later to the day?
David Spoon:That's how perfect the timing of God is.
David Spoon:So even though David's going, come on, come on, come on, he's also saying, you know what?
David Spoon:I will wait for you, Lord, because you're my strength now.
David Spoon:How cool is that?
David Spoon:That's pretty cool, Dave.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:Yeah, it's pretty cool.
David Spoon:I gotta go with you on that one.
David Spoon:Okay, take a short break here.
David Spoon:In the sense that we're gonna do a trivia question.
David Spoon:This should be pretty easy for most.
David Spoon:Acts 8, 29, 31.
David Spoon:Acts 8, 29, 31.
David Spoon:Who helped a eunuch to understand a portion of the book of Isaiah.
David Spoon:Who helped a eunuch to understand a portion of the book of Isaiah.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or you can send an email.
David Spoon:Davidemustincrease.org that's davidemustincrease.org who helped a eunuch to understand a portion of the book of Isaiah.
David Spoon:Acts, chapter 8, verse 29 through 31.
David Spoon:In the meantime.
David Spoon:In the meantime, I'm gonna send you up to the website.
David Spoon:Gonna send you up to the website.
David Spoon:And you're sitting there thinking, why are you doing that?
David Spoon:And it's pretty simple financially.
David Spoon:We need some help.
David Spoon:Yay.
Speaker D:You like that?
David Spoon:Okay, now I could do this one.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:Okay, listen.
David Spoon:Ready?
David Spoon:Put your hand in your pocket and pull out the green.
David Spoon:That does make this machine move.
David Spoon:Is that what you want?
David Spoon:No.
David Spoon:You know what we want?
David Spoon:We want you to give.
David Spoon:If the Lord puts it on your heart, we're trusting the Lord.
David Spoon:We're always.
David Spoon:This is our time.
David Spoon:January 15th, December 15th, January 2nd.
David Spoon:Ding, ding, ding.
David Spoon:That's my trial time.
David Spoon:I'm just asking the Lord to bless it, to multiply it, like you guys are doing the very same thing.
David Spoon:If you can give, great.
David Spoon:If you can't, don't worry about it.
David Spoon:Pray for us.
David Spoon:We have great, great, great confidence in you.
David Spoon:By the way, I do want to say hello to Eric.
David Spoon:He's in Australia.
David Spoon:He's in Australia.
David Spoon:Listening from Australia.
David Spoon:Wowzer.
David Spoon:That's amazing.
David Spoon:Anyway, if you can give consider doing it.
David Spoon:Check it out on the website.
David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org Prayer request hemostincrease.org Praise report.
David Spoon:Hemostincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.
David Spoon:Hemostincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.
David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org yeah, I was just thinking of going for a swim too.
David Spoon:And now that I've heard that I've decided not to a swim in December.
David Spoon:Yeah, I was gonna go for a swim, just a brief jump in the lake, you know, one of those 50 degree plunges and I've now elected.
David Spoon:I'm not going to do that.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Just because of that music still impacting us after all this time.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:I mean, that was many, many, many moons ago, wasn't it?
David Spoon:All right, bottom line is simply this.
David Spoon:Here's your trivia question.
David Spoon:Who helped a eunuch to understand a portion of the book of Isaiah?
David Spoon:Who did that?
David Spoon:Acts 8:29 31.
David Spoon:If you want to reach out to us, you know you can.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Additionally, you can send an email davidemustincreased.org Now, I do got to say, I think Eric being the.
David Spoon:I think that's the first time we've ever had any connection to Australia on this show.
David Spoon:So that's pretty good, right?
David Spoon:We're international.
David Spoon:That doesn't mean anything.
David Spoon:All right, here we go.
David Spoon:So there's your trivia question.
David Spoon:Who helped the eunuch understand a portion of the book on Isaiah?
David Spoon: , verse: David Spoon:Going back to the text and I really like this teaching and I really like this psalm because it's challenging, isn't it?
David Spoon:But listen to what David says.
David Spoon:He's not done.
David Spoon:He's already communicated.
David Spoon:Hey, wake up.
David Spoon:Come on, let's go and get going.
David Spoon:But I'm still going to surrender and I'm still going to believe you for the best of this and I have confidence in you.
David Spoon:Then after he says that, he says this, after he says, I'll wait for you, he says, God is my defense.
David Spoon:My God of mercy shall come to meet me.
David Spoon:Me.
David Spoon:God shall let me see my desire on my enemies and listen to what he says.
David Spoon:This will blow your mind.
David Spoon:Do not slay them, lest my people forget.
David Spoon:Scatter them by your power and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.
David Spoon:So there's three things that come out of this rest of this Psalm, and it's an amazing psalm, and we're not even done with it.
David Spoon:But David says three things that are super, super, super, super, super, super duper cool.
David Spoon:Number one, he says, God is my defense.
David Spoon:Stop trying to defend yourself.
David Spoon:You can defend the gospel anytime, as God calls upon you to do.
David Spoon:But God is your best defense.
David Spoon:If people don't like you, tough.
David Spoon:I don't like that way that.
David Spoon:Oh, who cares, really?
David Spoon:You're going to take that, you're going to live with that, make that a part of your life.
David Spoon:Get rid of that.
David Spoon:That's like wearing a piece of garbage on your shoulder.
David Spoon:Just brush it off, right?
David Spoon:God is your defense.
David Spoon:You don't got to worry about stuff.
David Spoon:I mean, what better defense?
David Spoon:And whether it's a good offense that's great for a defense or great defense for a good offense doesn't matter because all the football terms don't apply.
David Spoon:Because if God is your defense, that's it.
David Spoon:It's over.
David Spoon:Done one and done.
David Spoon:That's number one.
David Spoon:Number two, he says, my God of mercy, my God of mercy.
David Spoon:Very personalized, isn't it?
David Spoon:My God of mercy shall come to meet me.
David Spoon:Very personal.
David Spoon:Me, me, me.
David Spoon:He's not trying to exclude other people.
David Spoon:He's simply trying to say, God is very personalized in his mercy to me and I need it.
David Spoon:So he says, I'm going to wait for you.
David Spoon:And then he says, meet with me.
David Spoon:He knows he needs God's mercy to stay in the right place.
David Spoon:I've got a message for you, for our character to stay in the right place, anytime, anywhere.
David Spoon:Who we need the mercy of God.
David Spoon:You're not walking the walk because you're so phenomenal.
David Spoon:You walk the walk because he's so phenomenal and because he has mercy and because he gives you that mercy and that enables you to continue.
David Spoon:That's what's so beautiful.
David Spoon:Almost everything that we do is because of our partnership with the Lord.
David Spoon:In fact, breathing comes to mind.
David Spoon:But then he says this, and this is one of those weird things that I like in scripture because of how he says it.
David Spoon:He says, don't slay them, lest my people forget.
David Spoon:Can I tell you, that's a very weird thing?
David Spoon:What he's saying is, don't kill them.
David Spoon:Because if you kill them, Lord, nobody's going to remember.
David Spoon:Instead, just split them up and then drop them.
David Spoon:And then use them as an example so nobody else will mess with us.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:You almost think he's being compassionate, but maybe not really.
David Spoon:And so he's like, lord, take him on.
David Spoon:But make sure everybody sees that you're doing that.
David Spoon:Don't let them disappear.
David Spoon:Let them become billboards of your judgment.
David Spoon:That'll slow people down.
David Spoon:It's like, wow.
David Spoon:Did he really say that?
David Spoon:Yeah, he says that.
David Spoon:He's like, yeah, don't kill him.
David Spoon:No, no, use him.
David Spoon:Use them as an example.
David Spoon:Show the light.
David Spoon:Show the light.
David Spoon:Show that you're my defense.
David Spoon:Show that you stand by me.
David Spoon:Demonstrate all that stuff.
David Spoon:See, when you get into these psalms, it's just much deeper than people think.
David Spoon:Because we read it.
David Spoon:Most time we read it, we just kind of buzz through, slow it down.
David Spoon:God has a lot to say in his Word, doesn't he?
David Spoon:Isn't that cool?
David Spoon:You have to love that.
David Spoon:Awake, O Lord.
David Spoon:But I'm going to wait right here.
David Spoon:In the meantime, show me your mercy.
David Spoon:Keep me steady.
David Spoon:I know.
David Spoon:If you're going to take them down, make an example.
David Spoon:All right, let's answer the trivia question real quickly.
David Spoon:Here we go.
David Spoon:The trivia question is, who helped a eunuch to understand a portion of the book of Isaiah?
David Spoon:Your answer is, of course.
David Spoon:Philip.
David Spoon:Philip.
David Spoon:Acts 8, 29 through 31.
David Spoon:We're gonna take our break and then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break.
David Spoon:We'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
David Spoon:The David Spoon Experience.
Speaker D:You don't know what's gonna happen in one minute, let alone one hour from now.
Speaker D:And God, who it's impossible for God to lie, has made this commitment, made this offer, made this opportunity to both you and me and all of us around.
Speaker D:The simplicity is that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and that the wages of that sin, the wages falling short, is death.
Speaker D:But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Speaker D:And God, demonstrating his love for us, sent Jesus Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Speaker D:And if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, you will be saved.
Speaker D:God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Speaker D:There is nothing more important than that principle right there.
Speaker D:The hope that is offered to believers who acknowledge and surrender to the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Speaker D:That's what's being offered.
Speaker D:That's what gives you encouragement.
Speaker D:That's what enables you to go on.
Speaker D:You're going to have a lot of sorrow in this life.
Speaker D:Job said it best.
Speaker D:A man's days are few and full of trouble.
Speaker D:But in the next there is something so wonderful that even in man's mind we cannot retain it.
Speaker D:For eye has not seen, neither has ear heard, neither can the heart comprehend.
Speaker D:Can't even receive the great things which.
Speaker C:God has prepared for them that love him.
Speaker C:There's such a great thing that's coming for us.
Speaker C:Such a great place, such a wondrous place.
Speaker C:But you got to acknowledge the invitation.
Speaker C:You got to say yes.
Speaker C:Because if you don't say yes, you're not going to that wedding.
Speaker C:The wedding of the lamb.
Speaker C:Don't be that person.
Speaker C:Don't be that person that rejects it.
Speaker C:Don't be that person that lives in sorrow and grief and in sadness.
Speaker D:Don't be that person.
Speaker C:Be the one that says yes.
David Spoon:So.
Speaker C:That you can be a part of the great wedding feast.
Speaker C:That you can be a part of the great celebration.
Speaker C:No, life is much more than this.
Speaker D:60, 70, 80, 90 years.
Speaker C:It's eternity on the line.
Speaker C:If you've already said yes.
Speaker D:Rest in the comfort.
Speaker C:Rest in that place.
Speaker C:Rest in that goodness, that all is well.
Speaker C:And even on this side, if it's hard, on the other side, it's glory.
