I have about 14 things I have to do in about 6 hours and I will get some of them done. All of them done. I don't know. One of the things that we need is our dishwasher has been on the blink for a couple of weeks.
No jokes about dishwashers, people. Bottom line is simply this. I gotta be home in order for that to get corrected. But we have one of the best Monday shows we've ever done.
That's what we're replaying. But it will be boring for you guys and we'll have to do our Jake's take on Tuesday, because I won't be here on Monday. So be aware of that.

The Lord's return is closer. As I was talking to my son the other day, it's at least one day closer than it was the day before.

And let me just say, my first praise report is I thought the interview with Eddie Dugermo went great, and I was really blessed, and he really communicated some really fascinating material, and I loved it. But the bottom line is, when the Lord does something and it's awesome in your life, you should share it. Why? Because it's cool. Because it blesses people. Because it honors God and it encourages others. Maybe you've got a prayer request.
You got something you need prayer for? Well, I'm amazed that we don't have more prayer requests. And I'm not just talking about the people that are consistent in it.
I'm talking about some of you that have never done that. You know what? If you need prayer, we'll pray. We'll ask God.
Bringing our attention off of ourselves and the circumstance and putting our attention unto the Lord in a circumstance is the wisest decision anybody can ever make. If you've got a scripture or something you want to share, something the Lord's just blessed you with? Sure.
It's not as much about taking political sides as it is about lifting each other up and strengthening each other as we see the day of the Lord getting closer and closer. If you got an answer to Bible trivia, sure. Why don't you answer it? Here you go. Who is the father of hem, Shem and Japhethen?

And we should be continually praying for the peace of Israel, the peace of Jerusalem. What we need to be aware of is that the enemy is going to try and use fear as a tactical weapon against christians.
But in order to deflate the power of that, we need to operate in faith, not keeping any fear, but functioning in full confidence in the faithfulness of God.
So whatever you're dealing with and whatever that nudgy little fear is, do not say Okie Dokie, say Noki and say we're gonna blast that out through the power of faith. Because without faith, it's impossible to please God and all things are possible to him that believes and nothing is impossible for God to do. Get it.

Allow your worldly things and your obsession with the things in your universe to take a backseat from time to time and be in tune with what the Lord may want to do with you, through you and to you. David Spoon:Those were clever, good, good jokes. All right, your trivia question. I'm getting into the teaching, and it is a cool teaching.
her of king David? One samuel: -:First kings, chapter 22, verse 31 through 34. Now, the king of aram had ordered his 32 chariot commanders, do not fight with anyone at all except the king of Israel.
When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they shouted, he must be the king of Israel. So they turned to fight against him.
But Jehoshaphat cried out, when the chariot commanders saw that he was not the king of Israel because Jehovah was the king of Judah, they turned back from pursuing him. But a man drew his bow without taking special aim, and it struck the king of Israel through the joints of his armor.
So he said to his charioteer, turn around and take me out of battle, for I am badly wounded. All right, here's what I want you to pick up on. Okay? So Jehoshaphat is not the king of Israel. He's the king of Judah.
So what you need to understand is there was the king of Israel and the king of Judah, okay? And the king of Israel is the one that Aram wanted people to fight.
And so they're all trying to locate him, and nobody can find him on the battlefield. He was on the battlefield, but nobody can find him, right? Probably didn't wear his great decorations or something. Didn't matter. Verse 34.
A man drew his bow without taking special aim. Do you know what that means? I shot an arrow in the air, and where it landed, I do not care. That's what it means.
It means that he shot the arrow in the air and said, just without taking special aim means, guess what? He wasn't aiming. If you're following that, he's just shooting the arrow. I'm just shooting the arrow.
I want to look like I'm working hard here in the ministry or in the warfare in the thing. I want everybody to think I'm working hard.
So the guy, this soldier, shoots an arrow in the air without taking any aim, and it turns out that it strikes the king of Israel through the joints of his armor. So he said to his charioteer, oh, got to get me out of bed. I'm wounded. I'm wounded. I want you to understand something, and this is super important.
You want a great lesson of faith. Listen to this. It appears to be random. It appears to be pointless. It appears to be almost useless, almost for nothing. What's the point of this?
I just, this is ridiculous. This is just silly. This is just. And we always say these things. We say, why did this happen? Why? You know, that's, you know, what's going on with this?
This is just absurd. It's just, there's no reason for it whatsoever. That's what we say. Isn't that a statement you make?
There's no reason for that whatsoever when we think it's random, pointless, useless or for nothing. You're wrong. Why? Well, first of all, because God is in charge of everything. And second, God uses everything.
And you think, what do you mean, God uses everything? He didn't destroy Satan, did he? He just used him. God uses everything. Do you understand? And it is always the truth that God is always.
Listen to what I'm going to say. God is always. Listen to this phrase. God is always in there. He's always in there.
And we've talked about this before, people verify this numerous times.
But people that do needlepoint know that on the front side of the picture, in typical needlepoint, it's a beautiful outline picture with all the right colors, and it looks really pretty. On the underside of the needle point, it's different strings at different levels in different ways, and it looks kind of weird.
Well, things look weird from our point of view, but there's a picture that God's seeing. And every time you think something is useless, wasteful, or has no point to, it has nothing but randomness. There's nothing to it.
You and I have to be aware that we are not the king of the universe, not in charge of everything that's taking place, not aware of every nuance. How do you know that the one delay in your car didn't ultimately save you from being killed on a freeway or a highway. You don't know.
You think, well, I know, but you could say that about everything. You can. If you're a Christian and you believe God is faithful to you, you sure can.
I've had situations where the Lord stopped me from going somewhere and doing something only to prevent me from being in more serious trouble. Had I gone there and I would say yes and amen. And that's just a car example.
Just think of all the other things in your life where the Lord has allowed these things to be disrupted and you're just thinking that's just a nuisance. Well, maybe it's more than a nuisance. Maybe there's something behind it.
Maybe the kingdom of God is behind it and we're just so in the flesh, we're just not seeing it. You tell me God works and operates at that level, I will. I will challenge you with this.
If God knows the count on your hair follicles, which you don't know, what else would he not know?

I want you to catch something because for some reason the church feels the need to over answer cultural changes that take place. Look at Jesus. He didn't care about anyone's opinion. That's what it says, right? In that sense. And you do not care about anyone's opinion.
Jesus didn't go. Yes, I do. No, he didn't. He didn't. He never. Because he didn't. That's exactly right. He is true.
So they said, we know that you are true and teach the way of God. That's aletheis, which means speaking the truth completely, nothing hidden, being real. He teaches the way of God correctly.
That's a lay letheias, which is the case is according to the fact and doesn't care about anyone's opinion. The greek word here literally means does not look at people's faces.
In other words, when you are doing radio, I can't see faces except for Captain Chris. Okay, I can't see if your face is giving approval or denial, because the only way that happens is by text or phone or whatever the case may be.
When an actor acts, they can look on stage and see with the audience if there's approval. Jesus didn't seek people's facial approvals. He didn't care. And you think, well, no, he cared plenty. No, he cared about the mission to save the lost.
He didn't care about those who were going to reject in the capacity that he sought their approval. He never sought their approval. He didn't leave live, let me say that he didn't live for people's positive responses to him.
He walked at the pleasure of the father. Whatever the father wanted him to do or say, that's what he did, which is when you'll hear me say, we do it for the author and not the audience.
Because I think some of you people are literally some of the nicest people I have ever met in my human journey, but you still don't have a heaven to put me in. And that's what it comes down to. And I know it says that sounds so, you know, harsh or what it's like, are you serious?
Okay, if the Lord tarries and I die, you are not going to help me. I just don't really know where to say it, you know what I'm saying? And so I want you guys to catch that. To catch. This is why Jesus was so different.
It's because he spoke the truth. He said it according to what the truth was. And he didn't seek people's approval in sharing.
He just was like, look, I'm telling you exactly what the father told me to say. This is exactly how the spirit's leading me, exactly what the father wants to be said. And then you look at that and you go, ooh. How about us?

On this day in: e English Bible took place in:All right, listen to this. This is called the principle that Jesus used. I love stuff like this. I just. I get. I love stuff. First kings, chapter 22, verses 13 through 14.
The messenger who went to call Micah instructed him, look, the words of the prophets are unanimously favorable to the king. So let your words be like theirs and speak favorably. But Micah said, as the Lord lives, I will say whatever the Lord says to me.
So here's what's going on. The king is getting all of these prophets, quote unquote, prophets.
And all of the prophets are saying the same thing, that purple clothing looks phenomenal, you are robed out, you look tremendous, even though there is nothing on the king.
And so the idea behind that, and yes, we've used that in recent weeks, months, and years, the idea behind that is everybody was saying something nice. Say something nice. Right? Don't be the spoiler. Right?
So the guy who picks up Micah, the prophet, because the guy, the king knows, Micah's a genuine prophet, he says, hey, prophet dude, use the same words that everyone else is using, okay? He's like saying, make everyone happy. Say the nice things. Everybody has to say nice things about this because we say so. Say nice things.
Exodus 23 two says, you shall not fall in with the many to do evil. In other words, in the King James, thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil. Just because everybody's doing it doesn't make it right to do.
And it was your mother or grandmother or father or grandfather or big sister or big brother who said to you, just cause everybody's jumping off a bridge doesn't mean you should do it, too. And everybody knows what I'm talking about. And everybody grew up with that.
But the saying here is, just because everybody's saying nice things doesn't mean that nice things are coming from the lord. It doesn't mean that everybody agrees. But what the world tries to do is get everybody on the same page with their rightness.
But when man seeks to establish his own righteousness, it is an affront to God, who established righteousness through Jesus Christ. And why this principle is, the principle that Jesus used is because of this, Jesus only spoke what the father told him to say.
John, chapter twelve, verse 49.
Jesus said this, for I do not speak of my own initiative, but the father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. So Jesus is teaching his disciples and all of us that we don't just. It's not speaking on your own initiative.
You speak what the father wants you to speak.
I'm sure when Jeremiah was in the well, the clay well, and there was mud all over him and he was after they threw him in, because he spoke what God wanted him to speak.
I'm fairly confident, because you read his writings, that he was maybe not the happiest camper in the world, because he would not say what everybody wanted him to say. But he did say what God wanted him to say, and God delivered him. And what we can't do is say everything that everybody else wants us to say.
We need to say. We need to say what God wants us to say. And people, the problem is.
The problem is that we are easily swayed in people pleasing, easily swayed in trying to please people. And I understand the need to be accepted, and I understand the need to be, at some point in some things, appreciated.
But I understand that that is more greatly fulfilled from the Father through the son and by the spirit than it is on any other humanity, human level.
And I say that because God is the one who created us, and the creator knows what those needs are, the principle that Jesus used was he would speak what the father wanted him to. What this messenger who came from on the behalf of the king said is speak favorably, because everybody's speaking favorably. The answer to that is no.
hat I'll speak. In fact, Luke:It doesn't mean that everything you're going to say is going to be cheerios. Popcorn and skittles. It does mean that we're going to do our best to follow the Lord in the process. Right? That's the principle Jesus demonstrated.
That's the principle we ought to use. Okay.
You say what the Lord puts on your heart and directs you by the Holy Spirit, not what will make everybody happy, because making other people happy that way for their approval, will not get you very far with God. You speak for the author, not for the audience. You speak to the audience, but for the author. Okay. All right, take our break. And then come back.

And then if you're looking for a deeper walk with Jesus, a challenging book, then one step closer to Jesus would be the one that I would encourage you to get. And then the testimony book is simply called a spoon for Jesus. Any one of those five, I think, would be a blessing to certain people at certain ways.

-:You like that, don't you guys feel bad for Noel? You think the show stops here anyway. All right, here you go. This is called one thing, you city slicker. You like that title? Come on.
One thing, you city slicker. Luke, chapter ten, verse 38 through 42. Now, as they were traveling along, he entered a village and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.
She had a sister called Mary who was seated at the Lord's feet listening to his word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations.
And she came up to Jesus and said, lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Tell her to help me.
But the Lord answered and said, martha, martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things, but only one thing is necessary for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her. So come on, this is so great. First of all, they're sisters. So it's not like Martha hated Mary. That's not what's going on.
She's just like, I'm doing all the work, right? So in your relationships with people, if you think you're the only one doing work, it's this.
And there's so many amazing things in this text, but I don't have enough time to go into it. But this is what happened. Jesus comes and he's staying at the house of Lazarus with Martha. And Mary are there. Martha, Mary and Lazarus.
So she has her sister and Mary's just sitting at the Lord's feet listening, right? Just absorbing. Right? But Martha is distracted by all the preparations.
So what's the thing that she says because she's so distracted about what she's trying to do. Don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the serving?
Don't you care that I'm the only one doing all this and coordinating these big gatherings? Don't you care that I'm the one that's putting together this dinner and all this stuff? Don't you care?
And you know what she's saying by don't you care? Let me just give you the equivalent today. Lord, it's not fair. It's not fair. It's not fair. You ever said that, Martha? Have you ever said that?
That's right. I'm using that as the broad sweep. Have you ever said it's not fair? Okay. She's left me to do all this serving alone. Tell her to help me. Now.
You have to love this because Jesus's answer is very specific. He's Martha, Martha. Not just Martha, Martha, Martha. Wow. Martha, Martha. You are worried and bothered about so many things.
You see, Martha wasn't just worried and bothered about the dinner. Martha was worried and bothered about many things.
Not just the serving of the dinner, not just how the plates look, not just how the house looks, but many things. And that's Jesus is a way of saying, man, you are wound up a little tight. You need to. You need to take a big deep breath. You are just worried.
And he doesn't just say you're worried about so many things. He goes, you're worried and bothered. They frustrate you and they're driving you nutty. He says this, but only one thing is necessary.
So that's why I call it you city slickers. Because why? Because there is one thing.
And while Jack Palance, being curly, was right, saying there's only one thing he was wrong about, saying that each person has to find their own one thing. That's the wrong part. What the right part is. Jesus makes clear there is one thing. You know what that is? Sitting at Jesus feet.
But, David, if everybody's sitting at Jesus feet, who will get fed? I don't know.
w how they were going to feed:You see, we get so caught up in the distractions or we said this before, so caught up in the work of the Lord, we forget the Lord of the work. And we can't do that. And so Jesus tells her, there's one thing that's necessary. Why?
Because how that dinner's gonna go is not gonna have any impact on eternity. But sitting at the feet of Jesus, that will. That will impact eternity for everybody who's listening one way or another.
And the one thing, Mary seized upon it, and it would never be taken away from her, and she'll never be removed from that, and she'll never be told by Jesus, don't sit and listen to what I have to say. Go do other stuff. Be busy. Because busy stuff is great for type A personalities to be busy. But the answer is. That's not the answer.
The answer is the wisest, smartest, greatest, most powerful thing that we can do in any capacity is to sit at Jesus feet. And so you got all these people, you know, and I, and I'm not disagreeing with this, but I'm trying to give you a strong illustration.
We are the hands and the feet of Jesus. That's true, but not when we do so much hands and feet that we are not sitting at his feet. There is one thing that is necessary.
It will not be taken away. Your relationship with the Lord is primary. The first three commandments out of the ten, all about your connection with God.
Bottom six, about your connection with others. The fourth for your well being in between God and your neighbor is. You get that? Three, one, six. The summation.
Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, soul, strength and mind. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. But you can't do. Number two, love the Lord.
Number two, love your neighbor, yourself, without understanding and functioning in.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind, which means with everything, nothing is more important than your communion with the Lord. That is what you're going to take into heaven that you don't want to hear Jesus say, depart from me. I never knew you. Who is the father of Jonathan?
Second Samuel. Nine six. The answer is Saul. Saul was the father of Jonathan. Okay.
