The David Spoon Experience 10-18-23 part 2

1) Oh, how I adore the classics! The preaching of something I love and hold dear. This particular piece is a classic that I taught on this show three years ago, and I plan to teach it in the exact same manner now. You might wonder, given that the show has only been running for four and one-half years? Shouldn’t all the material be fresh? Not necessarily. Jesus left the example by repeating His teachings multiple times within a three-year period. 

2) So, you might ask, what do I consider a classic? Excellent question. To me, a classic involves crying out to the Lord with deep, agonizing shouts… despite being rebuked or rebuffed either by people or by principalities. We express our deepest desires and emotions, not because we don’t trust His kindness but because we seek His attention. Some may advise us to be dignified in our approach, but my response to them is simple: No.

3) Does this mean that Christians shouldn’t be dignified? Yes. My belief stems from the Bible. Numerous figures from both the Old and New Testaments didn’t precisely exude dignity. The pursuit of the King of the Universe involves faith, passion, desire, hope, confidence, love, and tenacity. These attributes may not be in order, but they are what come to mind when I think about our pursuit of Him. He desires nothing less from us because it shows our dedication towards Him. We yearn for His presence in our lives and situations because He is the epitome of all that is excellence.
