03-17-2025 part 2:  The Unbreakable Covenant: God’s Divine Promise Unveiled

Abraham’s Covenant and the Suzerain-Vassal Treaty

The teaching begins with an exploration of Genesis 15, where God reaffirms His promise to Abraham to give him the land, despite Abraham’s moment of doubt: “How can I be sure?” This leads into a discussion of the Suzerain-Vassal Treaty, an ancient agreement between a superior (Suzerain) and an inferior (vassal). Typically, the vassal would walk between halved animals to signify their commitment to the covenant under penalty of death, while the Suzerain offered benefits like protection or land. In this case, Abraham prepares the animals as instructed—cutting a heifer, goat, ram, and birds—but something extraordinary is about to unfold, setting this covenant apart from human conventions.

God’s Astonishing Act

As Abraham falls into a deep sleep, he witnesses a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passing between the animal halves—symbols of God Himself. Shockingly, Abraham does not walk through; God takes both roles, acting as both Suzerain and vassal. This unilateral act signifies that God alone guarantees the covenant’s fulfillment, promising Abraham’s descendants land and eventual liberation from 400 years of slavery. The vision also foretells Abraham’s peaceful death and the return of his descendants after four generations, highlighting God’s sovereign control over the promise and its timeline.

The Covenant’s Fulfillment in Christ

The teaching draws a profound connection between this event and Jesus Christ. God’s act of passing through the pieces prefigures Jesus, who, as both divine and human, fulfills humanity’s part of the covenant. Unable to uphold our end due to sin, humanity needed a representative—Jesus, born of the Spirit and a woman, becomes the vassal who ensures the covenant’s success. This mirrors the Abrahamic Covenant as a model for the New Covenant, where God the Father establishes the promise, and God the Son secures it through His sacrifice, making it unbreakable and unconditional for those who believe.

Eternal Assurance and the Holy Spirit

The significance of this dual fulfillment is staggering: God covers both the superior and inferior roles, ensuring the covenant’s eternity. The Holy Spirit, given to believers, serves as the deposit and witness of this unbreakable bond, affirming that salvation is not contingent on human effort but on God’s faithfulness. Unlike the Mosaic Covenant, which Israel broke, this faith-based covenant with Abraham—renewed through Christ—stands firm. The teaching concludes with a call to trust in this divine assurance, marveling at God’s love and commitment to cover every angle so His people can never lose their eternal promise.

Speaker A:

And now for something completely different.

Speaker A:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's experience.

Speaker A:

It's marvelous, monumental, most fascinating, mind bending Monday as we join our hearts and minds as one, drawing closer to the King of kings and glorifying his name.

Speaker A:

First, we're going to jump back into Genesis.

Speaker A:

We're going to pick it back up at verse 15 in chapter 15.

Speaker A:

And there is not a chance in God's green universe that I can do justice to what we're about to cover.

Speaker A:

So I'm telling you ahead of time, we're going to see something in the scripture that is rare and rarely taught on.

Speaker A:

Some of us will not be able to comprehend the fullness of it.

Speaker A:

After Abraham was declared righteous by God, he tells Abraham what to do in order for God to demonstrate that he himself in fact will fulfill the covenant.

Speaker A:

Because Abraham said, how do I know you're going to do it next?

Speaker A:

I'm just telling you now.

Speaker A:

I'm trying to be super nice.

Speaker A:

Laying the groundwork.

Speaker A:

Get ready to have your mind go.

Speaker A:

The Lord tells Abraham to bring a three year old heifer, three year old female goat, three year old ram, a turtle dove, a young pigeon.

Speaker A:

And Abraham took all of these and killed them.

Speaker A:

He cut each one down the middle and laid the halves side by side.

Speaker A:

This action is part of what is known as the suzerainty covenant.

Speaker A:

The suzerainty covenant.

Speaker A:

Did you hear that?

Speaker A:

Suzerainty.

Speaker A:

Some people say suzerainty and then suzer anti and it's like, well whatever.

Speaker A:

It's the Suzy Doozy covenant.

Speaker A:

I don't care what you want to call it.

Speaker A:

We are going to just see how absolutely outstanding understanding this covenant is that God makes with Abraham.

Speaker A:

A lot of you may not have heard what we're going to cover and it will make you think.

Speaker A:

That's all I'm going to say.

Speaker A:

Finally, the final portion of the verse is way past everything else.

Speaker A:

When the sun goes down, Abraham was, Abraham saw, was not.

Speaker A:

But he saw a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch pass between the halves of the offerings.

Speaker A:

So these offerings were there and he saw a fire pot and a torch passing through them.

Speaker A:

That is the Lord making the pass through the animals.

Speaker A:

Just a second.

Speaker A:

That is the Lord not only taking the higher position but also the lower position in order to fulfill the covenant to Abraham.

Speaker A:

It's just mind boggling.

Speaker A:

In other words, God takes the inferior position as well as the superior position in order to guarantee that the covenant will take place.

Speaker A:

Because man does a lousy job at fulfilling covenants.

Speaker A:

And just so you can know, this is an exact direct reflection and demonstration of the ministry of covenant Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

Speaker A:

While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.

Speaker A:

Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.

Speaker A:

The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.

Speaker A:

After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.

Speaker A:

He joined KAAM as and this radio program began.

Speaker A:

You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Local, national and heavenly talk.

Speaker A:

Here's what else we're looking at during the show.

Speaker A:

Lessons for surviving living and prevailing politics, Entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities.

Speaker A:

Why they so much more.

Speaker A:

Now remember, it's not professional radio.

Speaker A:

And just to verify it's not professional radio, we're going to talk to the Dick Tracy of professional radio, our very own Jam and Jacob.

Speaker A:

Jammin Jacob as the Dick Tracy of professional radio.

Speaker A:

Is the David Spoon Experience professional radio?

Speaker A:

No, it is not.

Speaker A:

David, did you say that in your special watch that you get to talk to people with?

Speaker A:

Because Dick Tracy had the watch and he could talk in it and it had, like a little picture in it.

Speaker A:

You know how everybody's really excited about those watches that was written in a cartoon 55 years ago.

Speaker A:

Let me hold up my arm like I'm talking into a watch.

Speaker A:

There it is.

Speaker A:

No, it is not, David.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker A:

Perfect.

Speaker A:

It's not professional radio.

Speaker A:

It's just radio.

Speaker A:

Just doing a good time, having fellowship, enjoying the Lord, being encouraged, trying to strengthen each other, trying not to laugh, trying not to fall asleep, all of it.

Speaker A:

Here's the bottom line.

Speaker A:

We want you to reach out to us because we do want to know how you're doing because that's a part of the walk.

Speaker A:

So you can email us during the show.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Or you can call us.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

You can just give us a call using the telephone and all.

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Well, by golly, you'll end up talking to Jam in Jacob.

Speaker A:

Talking to Jammin Jacob is like knowing that Your spiritual radio family has your back.

Speaker A:

Aw.

Speaker A:

Aw, that's so nice.

Speaker A:

Thank you, David.

Speaker A:

Happy Monday.

Speaker A:

Happy Monday to you, my friend.

Speaker A:

Sorry I didn't get give a breath for any other movement in that first 30 minutes.

Speaker A:

You were rolling.

Speaker A:

All right, here we go.

Speaker A:

Pew.

Speaker A:

We didn't see this one.

Speaker A:

This is going to be a mind.

Speaker A:

I don't even know if I can teach this.

Speaker A:

I'm not even kidding you.

Speaker A:

I have heard this taught twice in 46 years and both times I sat there going, it's just so deep.

Speaker A:

I'm being honest.

Speaker A:

I'm just trying to be totally honest.

Speaker A:

So I'm only praying that God will give us a break.

Speaker A:

That's what I'm praying right now.

Speaker A:

All right, my friend.

Speaker A:

So we do have some things that are going on.

Speaker A:

We will be talking about the audiobook more and more as they get the approval.

Speaker A:

We'll talk about that and kind of share what happened back, back and forth there.

Speaker A:

And there is more, more basketball, but it is not at this point slated to.

Speaker A:

Slated to get any interference on our show.

Speaker A:

Is that correct?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Texas A and M for the NCAA tournament plays Thursday, but it's at, I believe it's at 6:30, so it'll be long after the show's over.

Speaker A:

Okay, so we won't have any other show interferences that we're aware of unless something comes up, of course.

Speaker A:

All of us before tomorrow's show, which would technically be the six year anniversary, all of us just hope Jesus goes da da da, Right.

Speaker A:

Because then that's like done.

Speaker A:

Thanks.

Speaker A:

Works for me.

Speaker A:

Anyway, we will move forward from there.

Speaker A:

A couple things I do want you to be aware of.

Speaker A:

If you want to reach out to us, you can send an email, you can text, you can call us.

Speaker A:

And you might be saying, well, why would I do any of those things?

Speaker A:

It could be simply for this, for a praise report or a testimony.

Speaker A:

Because they're cool to hear.

Speaker A:

They're a blessing for people for them to hear it.

Speaker A:

And they honor the Lord, not less in any capacity.

Speaker A:

If you've got a prayer, request us joining together in prayer on a petition on a need that also honors the Lord.

Speaker A:

I'm sitting there thinking, well, what are you talking about?

Speaker A:

Well, Jesus said, a new commandment I give you love one another as I have loved you.

Speaker A:

By this shall all men know you are my disciples.

Speaker A:

By your love one for another.

Speaker A:

Our love for one another, our care for one another, our carrying burdens for one another demonstrates the love and testifies to God.

Speaker A:

See, that's why that's just cool, right?

Speaker A:

Don't you love that?

Speaker A:

Additionally, maybe you just got something you want to share.

Speaker A:

Like, this happened.

Speaker A:

This was cool.

Speaker A:

This happened.

Speaker A:

This was cool.

Speaker A:

I love stuff.

Speaker A:

I love the little gracelets where the Lord does one little thing for you.

Speaker A:

Like, you know, oh, I'm just hoping, lord, this happens.

Speaker A:

And it happens like this exact way that you kind of brought it to him and it's just real small or whatever.

Speaker A:

But you know, in your heart that was like a little, hello, how you doing?

Speaker A:

I love you from God.

Speaker A:

I love those gracelets.

Speaker A:

They're so good.

Speaker A:

Additionally, maybe you can answer this trivia question.

Speaker A:

I assume you can, but I don't know.

Speaker A:

We'll see.

Speaker A:

Here we go.

Speaker A:

Fill in the blank from this Proverb.

Speaker A:

It's Proverbs:

Speaker A:

Proverbs:

Speaker A:

Fill in the blank.

Speaker A:

A man that has friends must show himself friendly.

Speaker A:

And there is a friend that sticks closer than What?

Speaker A:

A man that has friends must show himself friendly.

Speaker A:

And there is a friend that sticks closer than.

Speaker A:

Proverbs:

Speaker A:

Your four options that we will offer to you are and there is a friend that sticks closer than a mate.

Speaker A:

And there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Speaker A:

And there is a friend that sticks closer than a sister.

Speaker A:

And there is a friend that sticks closer than a faithful pet.

Speaker A:

Is that word there mate, brother, sister, or faithful pet.

Speaker A:

There is a friend that stick a closer than.

Speaker A:

See how we did that?

Speaker A:

See how we did that?

Speaker A:

See how we did that.

Speaker A:

All right, again, don't forget, audiobook will get you that information.

Speaker A:

We're going to try and get like 50 copies of the audiobook for free so that people who can't afford them will be able to just use them if they want to.

Speaker A:

Okay, we didn't do that.

Speaker A:

We didn't do that.

Speaker A:

I can't do everything that fast.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody, I think, that does.

Speaker A:

Are they ready to answer the trivia question?

Speaker A:

They are ready to answer the trivia question.

Speaker A:

We're going to go right to it.

Speaker A:

So let's see what's happening on the phone line.

Speaker A:

So let's send them on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker A:

This is Don.

Speaker A:

Hi, brother.

Speaker A:

How are you?

Speaker A:

Well, fine.

Speaker A:

I haven't talked to you in a long time.

Speaker A:

I listen to you every day.

Speaker A:

Again, I tell you that I.

Speaker A:

I want to call, but I said, well, I knew that one real good.

Speaker A:

I love it when you call.

Speaker A:

I think it's delightful.

Speaker A:

I just want you to know that I don't want you to ever think anything else.

Speaker A:

I love when people call.

Speaker A:

It's great.

Speaker A:

It's great.

Speaker A:

And I know some people have, like, a hesitation, and I understand that.

Speaker A:

I mean, I probably would have a hesitation sometimes, too, but on this show.

Speaker A:

Yeah, who cares?

Speaker A:

That's kind of how I look at it.

Speaker A:

All right, let me set you up, and then you just tell me how you're doing in general after we do the question.

Speaker A:

But let me set you up on the question.

Speaker A:

Let me ask the whole thing, and then you can answer.

Speaker A:

Okay, fill in the blank.

Speaker A:

A man that has friends must show himself friendly.

Speaker A:

And there is a friend that sticks closer than a mate, a brother, a sister, or a faithful pet.

Speaker A:

A brother, a brother.

Speaker A:

There is a man that sticks closer than a brother.

Speaker A:

Of course, many people believe that's a direct reference to Jesus.

Speaker A:

Probably is.

Speaker A:

Because as close as you are to your brother, and I am to my brother, we are to brothers, Jesus is closer.

Speaker A:

You know, it's funny when you don't really have any brothers and you're in a church where you have lots of good friends and wonderful people that love Jesus and, you know, they're your brothers.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's exactly right.

Speaker A:

They are, actually.

Speaker A:

I mean, it is blood relatives.

Speaker A:

The blood of Jesus relatives.

Speaker A:

It's like, people need to.

Speaker A:

It's just so funny because the saying in America for years was, well, you know, blood is thicker than water.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you're right.

Speaker A:

It's like, yeah, that's the blood of Jesus.

Speaker A:

No duh.

Speaker A:

How you doing, by the way, brother?

Speaker A:

Are things good for you?

Speaker A:

I'm doing very good.

Speaker A:

I'm real busy at my church.

Speaker A:

I bake for my Sunday school class.

Speaker A:

You are a servant, and you must do very.

Speaker A:

You must bake pretty good.

Speaker A:

Because if I baked something for a class or for a group and I did it once, I would never have to worry about doing it a second time because everybody would ask me not to.

Speaker A:

Well, I must be pretty good then, because they eat it all up.

Speaker A:

That's great to hear.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I make bread and cookies.

Speaker A:

Sweet bread and chocolate chip.

Speaker A:

Usually chocolate chip.

Speaker A:

A lot of them can't have nuts.

Speaker A:

I tell you, it's nutty.

Speaker A:

But anyway, because I love nuts in my breads and in cookies.

Speaker A:

But a lot of people can't have.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you can't.

Speaker A:

Not everybody can have that one.

Speaker A:

Well, but see, but you are good.

Speaker A:

Cause they keep asking you to keep doing it.

Speaker A:

That just tells you that is a talent that not every one of us has.

Speaker A:

And you're talking to somebody who doesn't have it.

Speaker A:

I keep saying that I'm gonna bring y'all some cookies.

Speaker A:

And I keep.

Speaker A:

As soon as I get.

Speaker A:

As soon as I get to that point, then something happens.

Speaker A:

I say, oh, Don, can you make us some cookies real quick?

Speaker A:

You know, well, the next time it happens, it's not really Satan stopping you, but if you just think, get behind me, Satan, that might give us a chance for brownies or cookies or something.

Speaker A:

Do you like nuts, David?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, I'm as nutty as they come, and I like nuts.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

All right, brother.

Speaker A:

I'm going to get some to you soon.

Speaker A:

I appreciate it, my brother.

Speaker A:

Bless you.

Speaker A:

Thanks.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

Bye bye.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Bye bye.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Delightful, delightful call.

Speaker A:

You guys are great.

Speaker A:

All right, let's do our DNA.

Speaker A:

I'm not actually stalling on the teaching.

Speaker A:

I wanna try and get a bigger ramp up when we get into this teaching, but it is gonna be a little weird.

Speaker A:

So let's do our DNA.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

So every day that ends in Y, spend some time with a guy in the sky, period.

Speaker A:

Because it's good for your life.

Speaker A:

I mean, if you knew that walking 600ft every day would give you a 25% greater quality life, I just have this deep conviction.

Speaker A:

You do it, you do it, you do it.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, then spending time with Jesus every day will do more than that.

Speaker A:

So just do it, do it, do it.

Speaker A:

Time in the word, time in prayer, time in worship, time in whatever.

Speaker A:

Singing unto the Lord, whatever.

Speaker A:

Time in fellowship.

Speaker A:

Make sure you connect, okay?

Speaker A:

No lone wolf McQuaid stuff.

Speaker A:

You're not going.

Speaker A:

I'll do it all on my own.

Speaker A:

You can't even breathe on your own.

Speaker A:

So, yeah, no, that's number one, Draw closer to the Lord daily.

Speaker A:

Two, never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

That's the N.

Speaker A:

And unbelievable.

Speaker A:

I'm not even going to go into the depth, but there is a new small movement.

Speaker A:

Some of you probably are familiar with it, that when people put in their descriptions on who they are on social media and they say Christ is king, there are people saying that that is abusive language.

Speaker A:

I am not kidding you.

Speaker A:

And it's like, do you know, no matter how good it goes for a while, or maybe it'll go great for a long time, I don't know.

Speaker A:

You can tell what they're trying to do.

Speaker A:

They're trying to make it so that you can't just declare you're a Christian with anything.

Speaker A:

They don't want the word of God anywhere.

Speaker A:

They don't want Jesus honored anywhere.

Speaker A:

And they're just trying to make all of the word of God hate speech.

Speaker A:

They can either buy into their lie or just not be ashamed of his word.

Speaker A:

I go with don't be ashamed of his word.

Speaker A:

Don't buy into the lie.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

A always be ready to serve.

Speaker A:

Just at some point in the day.

Speaker A:

The big here am I statement to the Lord.

Speaker A:

Now, I don't really have the.

Speaker A:

Some people have a problem with this.

Speaker A:

It's like, well, I got to get up and have coffee.

Speaker A:

Fine, get up and have coffee.

Speaker A:

Some people need coffee to wake up.

Speaker A:

Some people need to do this, that whatever, whatever.

Speaker A:

At some point when you become conscious and you know, you're up and around, you got to give the big here am I use me.

Speaker A:

I mean, we've talked about this before.

Speaker A:

We even did a small little thing on it.

Speaker A:

Let's see here am I use me.

Speaker A:

I think we did that.

Speaker A:

We counted the seconds for that and it's less than 10 seconds.

Speaker A:

It's like, you know, here am I use me.

Speaker A:

I think was like six seconds.

Speaker A:

You got to do it every day and be ready to serve and be used by God in whatever capacity.

Speaker A:

It might be absolutely nothing, it might be absolutely everything, but we owe him everything, so it doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

Just be willing right here am I use me in whatever you want, Lord.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

Speaker A:

Say, always be ready to serve.

Speaker A:

Here am I.

Speaker A:

Use me.

Speaker A:

Take a short break and then we'll come back.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break.

Speaker A:

We'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Okay, like that.

Speaker A:

That's a good line.

Speaker A:

Bam.

Speaker A:

Bam.

Speaker A:

Alright, here's the first one.

Speaker A:

A pastor was leaving his area and was saying farewell to his congregation at the church door for the last time.

Speaker A:

He shook the hand of an elderly lady as she walked out.

Speaker A:

She said, your successor won't be as good as you.

Speaker A:

Well, nonsense, said the pastor in a flatter tone.

Speaker A:

No, really, Said the old lady.

Speaker A:

I've been here under five different ministers and each new one has been worse than the last.

Speaker A:

Ouch.

Speaker A:

Ouch.

Speaker A:

But this one, this is the one that's gonna offend people.

Speaker A:

Which is irony, right?

Speaker A:

Because that's more offensive than this is.

Speaker A:

And this is just too.

Speaker A:

And if you guys get offended at this, I, you know, take a.

Speaker A:

Take a week off the show.

Speaker A:

It seems there was a minister who had just all of his remaining teeth pulled and new dentures were being made.

Speaker A:

The first Sunday, he only preached 10 minutes.

Speaker A:

The second Sunday, he preached 20 minutes.

Speaker A:

But the third Sunday, he preached an hour and 25 minutes.

Speaker A:

When asked about this by some of the congregation, he responded this way.

Speaker A:

The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk.

Speaker A:

The second Sunday, my dentures were hurting a lot.

Speaker A:

The third Sunday, I accidentally grabbed my wife's dentures and I couldn't stop talking.

Speaker A:

And if you can't shout sight, you'll have to face a penalty.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam770, the truth station here in Texas is Ka Men.

Speaker A:

Your next trivia question.

Speaker A:

In 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 14, the apostle Paul said, alexander did me much evil.

Speaker A:

Was it Alexander the Great, Alexander of Mesopotamia, Alexander the coppersmith, or Alexander of Damascus?

Speaker A:

In 2 Timothy 4:14, the apostle Paul said, alexander did me much evil.

Speaker A:

Is that 1 Alexander the Great, 2 Alexander of Mesopotamia, 3 Alexander the Coppersmith, or 4 Alexander of Damascus?

Speaker A:

That, my friends, is your question.

Speaker A:

If you think you know you can reach out to us as soon as I find our phone number.

Speaker A:

Speaker A:

Or send an email davidemustincrease.org okay.

Speaker A:

All right, so I'm gonna get into this teaching.

Speaker A:

You're just gonna have to kind of do your best to follow along.

Speaker A:

I've already told you everything I'd tell you about this.

Speaker A:

What we ended on last Monday was when the Lord said, I am the Lord who brought you out of the Ur of Chaldeans to give you this land.

Speaker A:

Okay, this is in verse seven and eight, it says, but Abraham replied, o Sovereign Lord, how can I be sure that you will give it to me?

Speaker A:

Okay, that's what he said.

Speaker A:

And we talked about it last week.

Speaker A:

To understand that, we need to realize that when we read about the great people of God, and I mean the great people of God, many of them had moments like, well, how do I know that's going to happen?

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

That happens a lot.

Speaker A:

And so people should stop saying it doesn't happen.

Speaker A:

When it happened with Mary, she didn't doubt it was going to happen.

Speaker A:

She was more perplexed, going, well, how are you going to do.

Speaker A:

She goes, how are you going to do that?

Speaker A:

I'm a virgin.

Speaker A:

So she was more curious towards that process.

Speaker A:

But many times people go, well, how do I know this is going to happen?

Speaker A:

How is this going to happen?

Speaker A:

So the Lord answers Abraham in verse nine, he says, then the Lord told him, bring me a three year old heifer, a three year old female goat, a three year old ram, a turtle dove, a young pigeon.

Speaker A:

Abraham took all these and killed them.

Speaker A:

He cut each one down the middle.

Speaker A:

Don't tell PETA by the way.

Speaker A:

He cut each one down the middle and laid the halves side by side.

Speaker A:

He did not, however, divide the birds in halves.

Speaker A:

Verse 11.

Speaker A:

Some vultures came down to eat the carcasses, but Abraham chased them away.

Speaker A:

And that evening, as the sun was going down, Abraham fell into a deep sleep.

Speaker A:

And he saw a terrifying vision of darkness and horror.

Speaker A:

So we got to stop there so you can understand what's going on.

Speaker A:

Because I want to do my best, if I can, to explain it, what this is.

Speaker A:

There's a process called the Suzerain Vassal treaty.

Speaker A:

The Suzerain, it's like suzerain.

Speaker A:

And then some people go, no, it's suzerain.

Speaker A:

It's like whatever.

Speaker A:

It's the Suzi 1 Suzerain Vassal Treaty, what that is, and listen to what I'm going to say.

Speaker A:

Really important.

Speaker A:

It's an agreement between a superior and an inferior.

Speaker A:

It's an agreement between the suzerain and the vassal.

Speaker A:

The suzerain is the authority, the vassal is the inferior and owes loyalty.

Speaker A:

And why that's important is because when we get into how this was manifested, you're going to see that God did something that nobody ever expected.

Speaker A:

But I want to make sure you understand what the deal is.

Speaker A:

On this particular treaty.

Speaker A:

The suzerain is the dominant or superior party in the agreement.

Speaker A:

Usually a king or a ruler, and in this case God.

Speaker A:

The vassal is a subordinate, a smaller ruler or a head of a household who agrees to the terms that have been set.

Speaker A:

In this case you would initially think, okay, well that's got to be Abraham.

Speaker A:

This is the same kind of agreement that took place between God and the children of Israel.

Speaker A:

God being the superior, the children of Israel being inferior, and they needed to be responsive to his demands and agreements and in order for them to get the benefits that come from him.

Speaker A:

Really it's quite the same thing.

Speaker A:

The benefit, by the way, is typically military protection, land grants and other forms of support.

Speaker A:

The obligation is financial tribute, military service when required, and absolute loyalty.

Speaker A:

This is the kind of agreement that we are looking at.

Speaker A:

When Abraham and God get this going on Abraham, what he does is he takes the animals.

Speaker A:

He takes the animals before the Lord.

Speaker A:

Three year old heifer, three year old female goat, three year old ram, turtle dove, young pigeon, cuts them in half and the agreement says the inferior party will walk in between them to solidify the agreement.

Speaker A:

That's what I want you to remember.

Speaker A:

Now I'm going to stop there.

Speaker A:

Just remember that if you need to go back and listen to this on the podcast, do it.

Speaker A:

It's worth it once you catch what I'm going to teach.

Speaker A:

Before we go any further, I want to make another note and then we'll get the trivia question.

Speaker A:

The thing in verse 11 is really cool because it says some vultures came down to eat the carcasses, but Abraham chased them away.

Speaker A:

While we're doing these commitments to the Lord, there is always interference from the enemy, essentially.

Speaker A:

But Abraham was on top of it.

Speaker A:

He wouldn't let those outside interferences get in the way of this covenant scenario between him and God.

Speaker A:

But hold onto your hats because what we're going to see is going to blow your mind I'm telling you right now, it is absolutely incredible.

Speaker A:

When you will see in about 10 minutes what God shows Abraham.

Speaker A:

So great.

Speaker A:

Now we're going to stop that there.

Speaker A:

We do have somebody ready to answer the trivia question.

Speaker A:

Let's give them a chance to answer.

Speaker A:

We'll do that trivia question.

Speaker A:

Then we'll do our exit and come back and go into the heartbeat of what it is I'm trying to teach.

Speaker A:

So let's go ahead and have that person come on through.

Speaker A:

Knock, knock.

Speaker A:

This is David.

Speaker A:

Who am I talking to?

Speaker A:

This is Gary.

Speaker A:

How are you today?

Speaker A:

I'm doing pretty good, Gary.

Speaker A:

Feeling a little relief.

Speaker A:

Four grandkids have departed and I think my dog probably has more relief than I do because he was still working through it with the kids.

Speaker A:

So I am doing a little bit better today and I appreciate you asking me that.

Speaker A:

I prayed for all of you yesterday and I'll continue to pray for you.

Speaker A:

Please do.

Speaker A:

We appreciate that.

Speaker A:

Let's do this question and then we'll go from there and pray for you as well.

Speaker A:

Brother, here we go.

Speaker A:

On that exchange where Paul's talking about interacting with Alexander in the second Timothy 4:14, was that Alexander the Great, Alexander of Mesopotamia, Alexander the coppersmith, or Alexander of Damascus?

Speaker A:

Alexander the coppersmith.

Speaker A:

That is correct.

Speaker A:

Of a nosa.

Speaker A:

He even acknowledged, guys, that guy had a lot of penetration, did a lot of difficulty for me, but he's just like, okay, Lord, you take care of him.

Speaker A:

He's beyond that scope for me.

Speaker A:

And sometimes that's all you do is say, that's your problem now, God, I'm not dealing with that.

Speaker A:

Just let me know how it goes.

Speaker A:

So, yeah, it was Alexander the coppersmith who resisted his words and just tried to keep gumming up the works.

Speaker A:

All right, now, as for you, we need to be praying for your health.

Speaker A:

Any movements on anything or pretty much the same?

Speaker A:

Well, in my health, it's about the same.

Speaker A:

And I'm going to keep working on this other thing.

Speaker A:

Okay, well, just keep doing it.

Speaker A:

It doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

It doesn't matter because the Lord knows exactly what it is and what needs to happen.

Speaker A:

And that's the best thing I think about the Lord is when you come to him, he knows exactly what needs to be changed, exactly what needs to be altered or moved.

Speaker A:

What happened is I had to be hospitalized a few months back, and it's caused some problems with.

Speaker A:

With the Social Security and some other things.

Speaker A:

And so I'm having to try to get all that worked out.

Speaker A:

Gotcha.

Speaker A:

And then that's never fun because the red tape is never fun.

Speaker A:

So anyway, it's crazy.

Speaker A:

I'd just like to try to get that all worked out.

Speaker A:

We pray about that.

Speaker A:

Yeah, let's do it.

Speaker A:

Let's bring it before the Lord.

Speaker A:

Let's ask for his help.

Speaker A:

Father, we come before you right now.

Speaker A:

We lift up our brother Gary and we love our brother Gary, and we want him to know that.

Speaker A:

And, Lord, nobody knows the confusion that gets thrown at us, the frustration when certain things are supposed to happen and they don't go that way or they're not as simplified as they're supposed to be.

Speaker A:

So I'm not going to ask you to do anything but just change the whole thing, because you can change any circumstance.

Speaker A:

It doesn't matter whether it's government.

Speaker A:

It doesn't matter whether it's this, that, whatever administration, God, you can put it in people's hearts, you can put it in people's minds.

Speaker A:

You can change every circumstance from start to finish, no matter what anybody says on the planet.

Speaker A:

You can do anything.

Speaker A:

And we are asking you in your power to give relief for Gary in this circumstance.

Speaker A:

That's probably a lot of draining and a lot of frustration just to get things right.

Speaker A:

Lord, change it.

Speaker A:

Let there be a spirit of release, a change, so that he doesn't have to get frustrated by it or it doesn't have to keep coming after him.

Speaker A:

And, Lord, that's only the beginning part of our prayer, because we need you to bring the miracle power to bear in his body and in his health, because if you don't help him, he's not going to be helped because it's past mankind's ability to help, but it's not past yours.

Speaker A:

Nothing is too hard for the Lord.

Speaker A:

So we ask you, in the name of Jesus, to bring your healing power into Gary's body, top to bottom, inside out.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we want you to change his circumstance, but, Lord, we want you to change his circumstance in his physical life.

Speaker A:

And we look to you for that and pray for your grace to be manifested in that.

Speaker A:

And we look to you to be the strength, the answer, the redemption, the salvation, the freedom, the healing, the love, the mercy, the kindness that can only come from you.

Speaker A:

Please touch our brother.

Speaker A:

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

And amen.

Speaker A:

Thank you very much, and God bless you.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

And don't hesitate to call and keep us posted, okay?

Speaker A:

Okay, thank you.

Speaker A:

God bless you.

Speaker A:

All right, we'll take our break, then we'll come back and then get ready.

Speaker A:

That's all I'm going to say to you.

Speaker A:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truce station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Short break.

Speaker A:

We'll be back.

Speaker A:

Don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

Like any person searching for answers, I too have wondered about him.

Speaker A:

He has a weird sense of humor.

Speaker A:

If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?

Speaker A:

No, I don't think so.

Speaker A:

Those big ears really don't help.

Speaker A:

Will people enjoy his perspective on culture, politics, food, sports, and local and national news?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

It's just a client.

Speaker A:

Tune in to the David Spoon Experience on kaam.

Speaker A:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Speaker A:

When Joshua was trying to figure out the Lord and his decision for the Lord and he was doing pretty good and had good training, he made a decision to follow the Lord.

Speaker A:

Then he made a decision that he wanted to really commit to devotions.

Speaker A:

I told him I was proud of him for that.

Speaker A:

That's his own decision.

Speaker A:

He has to make that call.

Speaker A:

Nobody can choose that.

Speaker A:

You know, I was listening to something the other day, and this is one of the most bizarre statements.

Speaker A:

You're never going to hear a more bizarre statement.

Speaker A:

I hope this gets on the radio.

Speaker A:

You know, you can be born and raised Jewish, you can be born and raised Italian.

Speaker A:

You can be born and raised in many different things, but you can't be born a Christian.

Speaker A:

Can't do it because you have to make a decision for Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

There's no being born a Christian.

Speaker A:

That doesn't work.

Speaker A:

That's a lie.

Speaker A:

You have to make a choice, an individual choice.

Speaker A:

Your 15 generations of your family could be Christians when you're born.

Speaker A:

That does not make you a Christian.

Speaker A:

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, that's when you become a Christian.

Speaker A:

You understand that difference.

Speaker A:

It was just something that dawned on me, like, you know, people don't talk that way.

Speaker A:

Well, he was born in a Christian family.

Speaker A:

That doesn't mean he's a Christian.

Speaker A:

Plenty of murderers came out of Christian families.

Speaker A:

That doesn't mean a thing.

Speaker A:

That's nothing.

Speaker A:

But anyway, going back to.

Speaker A:

I had to share that because that's that thought that just really struck me as odd.

Speaker A:

But the power of our words is so noticeable.

Speaker A:

And Jesus says, hey, you know, I got one for you.

Speaker A:

By your words, you're going to be justified.

Speaker A:

And by your words, you're going to be condemned.

Speaker A:

So my question to pose is why that's so forceful and brutal.

Speaker A:

And the answer is in Matthew, chapter four, 15, Matthew.

Speaker A:

You guys like that one, huh?

Speaker A:

Like that?

Speaker A:

I can tell people.

Speaker A:

Oh, I like that.

Speaker A:

Matthew, chapter 15.

Speaker A:

Here's the reason.

Speaker A:

, Matthew:

Speaker A:

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart.

Speaker A:

And the reason that Jesus said, by your words you will be justified and by your words you'll be condemned is because your words reveal what's in your heart.

Speaker A:

And you will know.

Speaker A:

You can listen to other people and know by their speech.

Speaker A:

And I'm not even talking about coarse language.

Speaker A:

I'm not talking about swearing.

Speaker A:

I'm not even talking about any of that.

Speaker A:

I'm not even necessarily talking about negative speech.

Speaker A:

I'm talking about you will know a person's heart by what they say.

Speaker A:

The David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

Speaker A:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

That's Ka Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

Speaker A:

Your next trivia question.

Speaker A:

What did Moses use to afflict boils on the Egyptians?

Speaker A:

Based on Exodus 9, 8, 11, what did he use to afflict boils on the Egyptians?

Speaker A:

Did he use sour wine, lamb's blood, river water or ashes of a furnace according to Exodus chapter 9, verses 8 through 11?

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

-:

Speaker A:

Was it sour wine, lamb's blood, river water, or ashes of a furnace According to Exodus 9, 8, 11?

Speaker A:

In the meantime, I am going to send you up to the website because I haven't done that once yet today.

Speaker A:

Thank you very much.

Speaker A:

Here's my response to everybody on the money.

Speaker A:

We are hurting.

Speaker A:

Thank you.

Speaker A:

We live by the donations of the people that listen to this show.

Speaker A:

And we are hurting.

Speaker A:

We'll just leave it there.

Speaker A:

2 Corinthians 9, 6, 7.

Speaker A:

The point is this.

Speaker A:

Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly.

Speaker A:

Whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully.

Speaker A:

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion.

Speaker A:

For God loves a cheerful giver.

Speaker A:

Get that.

Speaker A:

That's the key.

Speaker A:

Check it out.

Speaker A:

The opportunity to give.

Speaker A:

We could use some help on the website.

Speaker A:

Hemustincrease.org Prayer Request hemostincreased.org Praise Report.

Speaker A:

Looking to give to this ministry.

Speaker A:

Confused by what's happening right now.

Speaker A:

He must give.

Speaker A:

Increase.org hemustincrease.org wow, we got an extra one in there, huh?

Speaker A:

That's pretty cool that.

Speaker A:

That got in there.

Speaker A:

Happy Monday.

Speaker A:

Happy Monday.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

That's really nice.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

It's not a bum day.

Speaker A:

It's a fun day.

Speaker A:

It's Happy Monday.

Speaker A:

All right, so your trivia question straight out forward.

Speaker A:

Most people are, like, going, I have no idea.

Speaker A:

Listen to the question.

Speaker A:

What did Moses use to.

Speaker A:

This is one of the plagues.

Speaker A:

What did Moses used to afflict boils on the Egyptians?

Speaker A:

According to Exodus 9, 8, 11, is it sour wine, lamb's blood, river's water, or ashes from the furnace?

Speaker A:

Which of those did he use?

Speaker A:

In the meantime, we're gonna do history.

Speaker A:

Let's go live.

Speaker A:

Faith in the past.

Speaker A:

All right, a couple important things to tell you.

Speaker A:

Number one, in:

Speaker A:

That's pretty good.

Speaker A:

I mean, who doesn't need a rubber band, right?

Speaker A:

Rubber band, right?

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

I have, like, 20 rubber bands holding different things together.

Speaker A:

How about you?

Speaker A:

What a great invention.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

So little, right?

Speaker A:

But yet so, so powerful.

Speaker A:

Also, this is for just a few folk.

Speaker A:

on Ed Sullivan on this Day in:

Speaker A:

To Love Somebody.

Speaker A:

To Love Somebody.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Anyway.

Speaker A:

And then finally,:

Speaker A:

She was the best.

Speaker A:

She was phenomenal.

Speaker A:

Two other things.

Speaker A:

One is St.

Speaker A:

Patrick's Day.

Speaker A:

For those that do not know that, there's a lot to go there.

Speaker A:

But St.

Speaker A:

Patrick is the dude who brought Christianity to the Emerald Islands, or as Ireland as we know it.

Speaker A:

And just in case you don't know, 34 million Americans have some form of Irish descent.

Speaker A:

That's a lot, right?

Speaker A:

That's just a lot.

Speaker A:

A lot of people.

Speaker A:

And then the last thing.

Speaker A:

And to me, the most important thing on this day, just so you can know, nine years ago, Adalynn Joy Schiller was born, the first of my seven grandkids.

Speaker A:

Today she is nine years old, born on St.

Speaker A:

Patty's Day.

Speaker A:

Well, happy birthday to her.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we'll talk to her later on tonight.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

We forgot to wear green.

Speaker A:

David, neither of us are wearing green for St.

Speaker A:

Patrick's Day.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's true.

Speaker A:

Don't tell anybody.

Speaker A:

All right, so back to the trivia question.

Speaker A:

And Then we're going into this, teach.

Speaker A:

I don't even know if we're going to break again, just so you can know.

Speaker A:

I'd be surprised.

Speaker A:

Anyway, what did Moses use to afflict boils upon the Egyptians?

Speaker A:

Did he use sour wine, lamb's blood, river water, or ashes of the furnace?

Speaker A:

Exodus 9, 8, 11.

Speaker A:

Back to the teaching we go.

Speaker A:

I'm telling you, don't do disconnect from this.

Speaker A:

This is really, really, really good stuff.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Already talked about Abraham cutting in half the three year old heifer, the three year old female goat, the three year old ram, the turtle doves, the young pigeon and the turtle dove.

Speaker A:

He did not rip those apart.

Speaker A:

And then he puts everything in half.

Speaker A:

And the whole purpose is the person who is honoring the covenant that's being made is supposed to walk in between them.

Speaker A:

Just remember that.

Speaker A:

And that says, we will keep the covenant upon penalty of death.

Speaker A:

All right, verse 12.

Speaker A:

That evening, as the sun was going down, Abraham fell into a deep sleep.

Speaker A:

He saw a terrifying vision of darkness and horror.

Speaker A:

Then the Lord told Abraham, you can be sure that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land and they will be oppressed as slaves for 400 years.

Speaker A:

But I will punish the nation that enslaves them.

Speaker A:

And in the end, they will all come away with great wealth.

Speaker A:

But you will die in peace at a ripe old age.

Speaker A:

After four generations, your descendants will return here to this land when the sin of the Amorites has run its course.

Speaker A:

So let's just stop right there real quickly.

Speaker A:

So for everybody going, well, a generation in The Bible is 40 years.

Speaker A:

And Chuck Smith used to teach that, and I love Chuck Smith, so don't get the wrong idea.

Speaker A:

But this also teaches you right here that a generation can also be seen as 100 years, because it's 400 years before they return.

Speaker A:

And God says it's four generations.

Speaker A:

So for all the Bible calculators, a generation could be as much as a hundred years.

Speaker A:

So always remember that, that's part of it.

Speaker A:

But now let's go to verse 12, actually verse 15, as we see what happens.

Speaker A:

And this is what is so unbelievable.

Speaker A:

As the sun went down and it became dark, Abraham saw a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch pass between the halves of the carcasses.

Speaker A:

That's verse 17, verse 18.

Speaker A:

So the Lord made a covenant with Abraham that day and said, I have given this land to your descendants all the way from the border of Egypt to the great Euphrates river, the land of the Canaanites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephites, Ammonites, and the Canaan, as well as the Kishites and Jebusites.

Speaker A:

Just stop.

Speaker A:

Abraham did not walk in between the animals.

Speaker A:

Abraham saw walking between the animals, the smoking fire pot and a flaming torch.

Speaker A:

He wasn't doing it.

Speaker A:

He saw it.

Speaker A:

Why is that significant?

Speaker A:

Here's why it's significant.

Speaker A:

Because God told Abraham he was going to make him a pledge.

Speaker A:

And the pledge that's made that we know from a societal point of view is a pledge where the greater makes the declaration, the lesser accepts that and walks through and thereby affirms the covenant and thereby guarantees not to fail in that covenant upon the penalty of death.

Speaker A:

God was one of the two in the party making this covenant with Abraham, but He was also the other part of the company that walked through the animals.

Speaker A:

Let me explain this as best I can because this is where it gets super deep.

Speaker A:

God did both parts of this covenant.

Speaker A:

And you're looking at it going, wait a minute, what do you mean?

Speaker A:

How does that work when he sent Jesus Christ?

Speaker A:

This right here is the forerunner to Jesus taking on our part of the covenant to make the covenant stick.

Speaker A:

Because we couldn't do it by ourselves.

Speaker A:

We needed help and humanity in the covenant could not do it independent of us.

Speaker A:

So we needed somebody who was human who could do it.

Speaker A:

And that person who could do it was Jesus, who was born of the Holy Spirit and born of a woman.

Speaker A:

So what God does in this moment, listen to this is he takes both the higher and the lower position to confirm the covenant.

Speaker A:

So the covenant will be guaranteed.

Speaker A:

Abraham does not do this.

Speaker A:

I've got 10 things of notes in front of me.

Speaker A:

I have to read some of these.

Speaker A:

You just have to see this.

Speaker A:

This is unbelievable.

Speaker A:

These are not my notes.

Speaker A:

This one is from a study Bible.

Speaker A:

Just listen.

Speaker A:

Listen to what it says.

Speaker A:

Just way past me.

Speaker A:

Listen to this, this, this here.

Speaker A:

The Lord voluntarily made himself lower than Abraham for the establishment of the covenant.

Speaker A:

This dramatic act prefigures the precious gift of his own son who condescended, was consented to dying on and disregarded on the cross for all humanity.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

A smoking oven and a burning torch are also found in similar rituals in additional texts.

Speaker A:

They represent God who passed between those pieces.

Speaker A:

The Lord was promising the promising party.

Speaker A:

God's oath was unilateral, unconditional, no requirement demand of Abraham as his part in this mighty covenant.

Speaker A:

Abraham simply believed the Abrahamic covenant in the Old Testament is the model for the new covenant in Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

What is Being taught is this Jesus fulfills our part of the covenant with God.

Speaker A:

God the Father does the high part.

Speaker A:

God the Son humbled himself by becoming a man, does the human part thereby, the high part and the low part are both accomplished by God.

Speaker A:

The covenant is established by God and cannot be broken.

Speaker A:

This particular covenant, because God did both parts.

Speaker A:

And God doesn't fail.

Speaker A:

When Jesus came, it was the fulfillment of this covenant.

Speaker A:

To the T I know you people go, well, this is crazy.

Speaker A:

Let me read you something else.

Speaker A:

Hold on.

Speaker A:

This is just so incredible.

Speaker A:

Listen to this, okay?

Speaker A:

The animals to be offered were selected, cut in half, and arranged in proper order opposite of one another.

Speaker A:

The covenant parties then passed between the halves, indicating they were irrevocably bound together in blood.

Speaker A:

The cutting in halves of the sacrifice spoke of the end of the existing lives for the sake of establishing a new bond or covenant.

Speaker A:

The sacred nature of this bond was attested to by the shedding of lifeblood.

Speaker A:

And in this instance, only God passed between the pieces, indicating that it was his covenant and he would assume responsibility for its administration.

Speaker A:

Present in this account of covenant making are three essential a bond that originates from God's initiative, the offering of a blood sacrifice, and God's sovereign administration of the outcome of his oath.

Speaker A:

In other words, our covenant with God.

Speaker A:

He covered both parts by having Jesus become one of us and be the one that passes through the animals.

Speaker A:

In easier terms, to understand Abraham's agreement with God, which Abraham was required to believe that was his portion, was fulfilled in both parts, the higher part and the lower part, by God, so that a person without a person like you and I could not mess it up.

Speaker A:

But a person still had to fulfill it.

Speaker A:

And that person was Jesus.

Speaker A:

The reason this is important, you're thinking, what's the big deal?

Speaker A:

How does that matter?

Speaker A:

What does it matter?

Speaker A:

It's because it shows the level of God's commitment that he makes a covenant with us.

Speaker A:

But then in order for the covenant to happen, he becomes one of us to make sure that on our end we don't mess it up, which is what the covenant is.

Speaker A:

Through Jesus, he takes our spot to make it happen.

Speaker A:

So then the covenant isn't based on Me, but on Jesus.

Speaker A:

And that's for the lesser part.

Speaker A:

The higher part's God the Father, the lesser part's God the Son.

Speaker A:

God covers both ends, and in that covenant, listen to this.

Speaker A:

Then the Holy Spirit has residency in us because of the covenant between the Father's position and the Son's position.

Speaker A:

So between the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, we have a covenant that cannot be broken, ever.

Speaker A:

Because God covered both sides.

Speaker A:

And the witness to that is the Holy Spirit living inside you and me.

Speaker A:

I told you it's heady.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker A:

But you have to understand that it was God who took both parts of this covenant to affirm that this covenant would not go wayward.

Speaker A:

Even the children of Israel in their covenant, blew it.

Speaker A:

Which is why Jeremiah 31 talked about a new covenant.

Speaker A:

But this covenant with Abraham was pre law.

Speaker A:

This covenant with Abraham was based on faith.

Speaker A:

This covenant with Abraham is the same covenant we have with God.

Speaker A:

And God covers both parts, the higher part and the lower part, as the Father in one position and the Son in the other position, making sure that the covenant is true and faithful and immovable.

Speaker A:

In the most simplistic terms, God covers us at every angle to make sure the covenant never changes.

Speaker A:

Our job is to believe, for God has already walked through the split up animals and God the Father is in the higher Suzanne position, and God the Son takes the vassal position and he covers the salvation or the covenant for us from both ends.

Speaker A:

And as proof, the scripture says multiple times, the Holy Spirit is our deposit of that covenant.

Speaker A:

That's why truly, those that are saved are truly saved.

Speaker A:

Because it's not just the beginning, but the end.

Speaker A:

In other words, Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

Speaker A:

He starts it, he finishes it, he guarantees it.

Speaker A:

And our job is to believe.

Speaker A:

But look at the depth God showing in Genesis 15, saying to us, I'm covering both sides of this so it will be eternal.

Speaker A:

Think about that.

Speaker A:

He didn't want us to mess up the eternal eternity, so he covered both sides because he loves us.

Speaker A:

It's just like what?

Speaker A:

That's amazing.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And I'm sorry I can't teach it better, I really am, but that's how deep it goes.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

I told you it'd be one of those shows.

Speaker A:

I can't get away from that.

Speaker A:

It is what it is.

Speaker A:

That's the section we're in.

Speaker A:

Going back to the trivia question, by the way, what did Moses use to afflict boils upon the Egyptians?

Speaker A:

What did he use?

Speaker A:

The question, Was it sour wine, lamb's blood, river's water, or ashes from the furnace?

Speaker A:

According to Exodus 9, 8, 11, it was in fact ashes from the furnace.

Speaker A:

Now, if you heard what I taught and didn't get it, listen to it again.

Speaker A:

And if you still don't get it after listening to the podcast, send me an email and I'll do my best to explain it.

Speaker A:

But Here it is in a nutshell.

Speaker A:

God covers both ends of the covenant, the higher and lower end, to make sure our covenant is secure.

Speaker A:

And by our faith he proves that he's in it and pours the Holy Spirit in you as an affirmation to it.

Speaker A:

That's why you're born again.

Speaker A:

Bam.

Speaker A:

How good is that?

Speaker A:

David Spoon

David Spoon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Detroit, Michigan. He attended a private Hebrew school called Hillel Hebrew Academy. David was bar mitzvah-ed at the age of thirteen. Not long after, he was involved in drug abuse and trafficking. After hearing the Gospel for the first time at age seventeen, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. A few months later, David had a dramatic experience with God. Immediately set free from years of excessive drug use, he committed himself to ministry and to furthering the Kingdom of God.

He attended Arizona Bible College, Northern Arizona University, and Life Pacific College, graduating summa-cum-laude in their Ministry and Leadership program. He also graduated with honors from Regent University with a master’s degree in Theological Studies and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Strategic Christian Ministry at Liberty University.

He is one of a few individuals holding ministerial ordinations from three separate denominations: Heritage Free Baptist Organization, 1981; Independent Pentecostal Ministers Association, 1985; and Vineyard Valley Association, 1988. He was also the Chaplain for the Flagstaff Police Department. In addition, David was the senior pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Flagstaff.

In addition, David started and co-hosted two different live Christian call-in radio talk shows. He hosted the very popular radio show “The David Spoon Experience” on KPRZ 1210 and a show called “To Know Him,” which aired on 88.9 on the F.M. dial-in Temecula, California at 1:00 p.m., Monday through Fridays. He was also the Director of Local Ministry for Salem Media Group in San Diego, California.

David is married to his best friend, Noelle. He has three children and seven grandchildren, plus their two dogs named Levi and Bert. On March 18th, 2019, he started “The David Spoon Experience” in Texas and is growing with his audience of awesome believers and non-believers alike.

He is the President of He Must Increase Ministry, a 501c3 ministry, and is hosting (again) the live daily radio show “The David Spoon Experience” with DJR Broadcasting in KAAM, on the 770 A.M. radio dial. The show is also on various apps and the Internet.

David is a Jewish-Christian, Bapti-Costal, Cal-Minian, Manifold Millennialist.

Just ask him.
