03-14-2025 part 2: Embracing Transformation: How to Become a Different Kind of Christian
Dr. David Spoon provides a profound exploration of the transformative journey of faith in today’s discussion. Central to this episode is the concept of becoming a "different kind of Christian," as derived from the teachings in the Book of Samuel, illustrating the continuity between the Old and New Testaments. Spoon emphasizes the essential nature of repentance, which remains a mandate for all believers, and offers a fresh perspective on its application within our lives. Furthermore, he underscores the necessity of recognizing and dispelling the barriers that hinder a genuine relationship with God. This episode undoubtedly serves to enlighten and encourage listeners to deepen their spiritual engagement and commitment.
Dr. David Spoon's discourse delves into the intricate relationship between the Old Testament and the New Testament, emphasizing the continuity of God's principles across both. He draws upon the Book of Samuel to elucidate how its teachings are remarkably applicable for contemporary Christians. Central to his argument is the notion of being a 'different kind of Christian', one who is not simply a product of their environment but rather one who actively seeks to embody the teachings of Christ, thereby transforming their spiritual journey. Spoon articulates that the essence of faith lies in understanding the covenantal shift from the Old to the New Testament, highlighting that while the covenant has changed, God's love and commitment to humanity remain unchanged. This foundational premise serves to encourage listeners to draw closer to God, fostering a deeper relationship that transcends mere adherence to religious norms.

And now for something completely different.
Speaker A:Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.
Speaker A:It's fantastic, phenomenal, always fun, usually somewhat fascinating.
Speaker A:Friday as we head into the weekend not being afraid, even if the earth gives way or the mountains fall into the seas because our help comes from the Lord.
Speaker A:Even though we made that joke about the psalm first.
Speaker A:It's Friday and it's time for our wonderful devotional Diamonds of the day.
Speaker A:And we jump into the Book of Samuel to look at a few different elements that may surprise us as well as encourage us to draw nearer to the Lord.
Speaker A:The first topic has to do with how to be a different kind of Christian.
Speaker A:Now isn't that funny that we're going to pull out of the Old Testament a teaching that tells us how to be New Testament Christians.
Speaker A:That should show each and every one of us the continuity between the Old and New Testament.
Speaker A:It's the same God.
Speaker A:It's a different covenant or agreement, but it's the same love.
Speaker A:Next big step is very interesting approach to a concept of repentance.
Speaker A:I talked about repentance last week, not this week, but the week before.
Speaker A:Repentance is absolutely a mandate for the kingdom of God.
Speaker A:John taught it, Jesus taught it, Peter taught it, Paul taught it, the Bible teaches it.
Speaker A:But again, we're going to jump into Samuel to find out a very interesting perspective on the ABCs of repenting.
Speaker A:And finally, every once in a while we do a lesson.
Speaker A:We have to be aware that sometimes it might be bump against what we think.
Speaker A:It might challenge our theology.
Speaker A:This lesson that we're going to do at the end will have to do with us understanding that too many people are looking for a different Jesus.
Speaker A:And yes, the Bible teaches there is a different Jesus than the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:Christ.
Speaker B:David Spoon's life has been an experience.
Speaker B:While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse.
Speaker B:Then David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.
Speaker B:The more he studied the gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.
Speaker B:After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.
Speaker B:He joined KAAM and this radio program began.
Speaker B:You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Local, national and heavenly talk.
Speaker A:Here's what else we're looking at during the show.
Speaker A:Lessons for surviving, living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities and oy vey, so much more.
Speaker A:Now remember, it's not professional radio.
Speaker A:And to prove it's not professional radio.
Speaker A:We're gonna be talking to Jim and Jacob.
Speaker A:He's going to be getting the title the Nicest Guy in Radio.
Speaker A:But before we get to that title, we have a few other ones we want to run by you that he goes by.
Speaker A:We are going to ask the Dilton Doily of professional radio from the Archies.
Speaker A:The Dilton Doily of professional radio is our very own Jam and Jacob.
Speaker A:Jam and Jacob is the David Spoon Experience Professional radio.
Speaker C:No, it is not David.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:That is from Dylton Doily.
Speaker A:For those that don't know.
Speaker A:In the Archies, he was the brain.
Speaker A:He was the smart guy.
Speaker A:See, that's why I'm giving you the Dilton Doily reference.
Speaker A:Like it?
Speaker C:Well, thank you, David.
Speaker C:I don't know who that is, but he's the brain, so I'll take that as a compliment.
Speaker A:Take it as a compliment.
Speaker A:I didn't call you the moose.
Speaker A:That was good.
Speaker A:Dilton Doyle, always the smart guy in the Archies comics.
Speaker A:I'm just saying I gave you that.
Speaker A:I gave you the big brain title.
Speaker A:Here's the bottom line.
Speaker A:The bottom line is it's not professional radio.
Speaker A:I mean, it's not.
Speaker A:I know you guys say it's not.
Speaker A:No, it's fun, it's goofy, it's weird, but it ain't professional radio.
Speaker A:In professional radio, you have to hit everything perfect, say everything perfect, do everything perfect.
Speaker A:I haven't done that once.
Speaker A:I've done 3,000 shows.
Speaker A:Here's what I can tell you.
Speaker A:I can tell you that we want to know how you're doing.
Speaker A:We really do.
Speaker A:And so in order to reach out to us, we give you a couple of different methods to do that.
Speaker A:You can do that by email.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Foreign.
Speaker A:Talking to Jam and Jacob is like heading into the weekend.
Speaker C:Thank you, David.
Speaker C:Happy Friday.
Speaker C:Happy heading into the weekend.
Speaker A:The same with you.
Speaker A:Do you have to work tomorrow?
Speaker A:Do you have.
Speaker C:I do not have to work tomorrow.
Speaker A:It'll be next week.
Speaker A:Very nice.
Speaker A:And so we are on the air.
Speaker A:Some people might have thought we weren't going to be on the air because of the Texas A and M Aggies game.
Speaker A:And can you just give everybody just a very, very quick recap as to why we are on the air right now?
Speaker C:Well, we are on the air right now because the Texas A and M Aggies played the Texas Longhorns last night in the Southeastern Conference Championship, and the Texans Longhorns won.
Speaker C:So because A and M lost, we are now live on the air.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Went to overtime, huh?
Speaker C:To double overtime.
Speaker A:Double overtime, boy.
Speaker A:That's not.
Speaker A:But you know what the good thing about that game was?
Speaker A:A Texas team won.
Speaker C:Yes, a Texas team did indeed win.
Speaker A:Like that.
Speaker A:All right, folks, here it is.
Speaker A:Why would you bother?
Speaker A:All right, relax.
Speaker A:Why would you email us?
Speaker A:Why would you text us?
Speaker A:Why would you call us?
Speaker A:Why would you do it?
Speaker A:It can be for a praise report.
Speaker A:Because we love praise reports.
Speaker A:Or a testimony, whatever you want to call it.
Speaker A:A shout out.
Speaker A:Great.
Speaker A:That the Lord has done something marvelous.
Speaker A:Fantastic.
Speaker A:Share it.
Speaker A:This is a perfect venue.
Speaker A:You got brothers and sisters, different denominations, different backgrounds.
Speaker A:Nobody cares.
Speaker A:Everybody's like, it's got to be like this.
Speaker A:It's got to be like this.
Speaker A:Stop already.
Speaker A:I've said it before.
Speaker A:I'll say it again.
Speaker A:They start shooting Christians because we're Christians, nobody's going to go, well, what's your denomination?
Speaker A:So I can decide whether I'm running next to you or not?
Speaker A:Yeah, that ain't going to happen.
Speaker A:Here's the bottom line.
Speaker A:The bottom line is, if you want to share a testimony, do it.
Speaker A:It'll bless people, it'll bless yourself.
Speaker A:It'll strengthen that testimony in your own life, but it'll honor God.
Speaker A:And that's the big thing.
Speaker A:You can share a prayer request.
Speaker A:Maybe you got something going on.
Speaker A:We need to petition the Lord.
Speaker A:We need his help.
Speaker A:Let's ask, let's seek, let's pursue, let's do the very things Jesus said to do and watch as the Lord brings his kingdom into our realms.
Speaker A:Isn't that phenomenal?
Speaker A:Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Speaker A:You can also have something you just want to share.
Speaker A:It's really just blessed you.
Speaker A:I saw this.
Speaker A:It was really cool.
Speaker A:I saw this bumper sticker.
Speaker A:I saw this thing.
Speaker A:This person said.
Speaker A:This really encouraged me.
Speaker A:That's good, too.
Speaker A:You might even have an answer to Bible trivia.
Speaker A:We just got some Bible trivia done.
Speaker A:Let's see if we can get the next piece of Bible trivia done.
Speaker A:What direction did the wise men come from?
Speaker A:Matthew 21.
Speaker A:What direction did they come from?
Speaker A:The wise men, the magi.
Speaker A:Where did they come from?
Speaker A:What direction?
Speaker A:Don't say earth.
Speaker A:That's not going to count.
Speaker A:What direction did the wise men come from?
Speaker A:Matthew 2.
Speaker A:1.
Speaker A:If you think you know the answer, you can reach out to us.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You can also text us, and that's cool, too.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Or you can send us an email, david@hemustincrease.org so the trivia question.
Speaker A:What direction did the wise men come from?
Speaker A:According to Matthew 2.
Speaker A:1.
Speaker A:We do want to give props to Al for saying from over yonder.
Speaker A:Not really a qualifier, but okay.
Speaker A:But in the meantime, we do have somebody on the line.
Speaker A:Let's go ahead and send them on through.
Speaker A:Knock, knock.
Speaker A:This is David.
Speaker A:Who am I talking to?
Speaker D:Dr.
Speaker D:David, this is Will Rogers.
Speaker A:Hello, Will Rogers.
Speaker A:How are you, my brother?
Speaker D:I'm great, and I hope you're better.
Speaker A:I'm doing really, really great.
Speaker A:I am.
Speaker A:And thank you for saying that to me.
Speaker A:That's very, very kind.
Speaker A:Let me set you up on the trivia question and then we'll get you going from there.
Speaker A:I don't think it's overly complex because it's kind of one out of four.
Speaker A:What direction did the wise men come from?
Speaker D:That would have been the fire in the east.
Speaker A:That is correct.
Speaker A:They came from the east.
Speaker A:And that is exactly, exactly correct.
Speaker A:And I was.
Speaker A:Go ahead.
Speaker D:Came from afar.
Speaker A:Afar.
Speaker A:That is right.
Speaker A:Although you gotta like Al's answer from over yonder.
Speaker A:It's like, okay, over yonder, eastward way.
Speaker A:I was waiting for somebody to write, they came from earth.
Speaker A:Okay, fine.
Speaker D:My sense is the reason they're coming from there is they had learned through Daniel and his sequential stuff spiritually what was going on.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:They knew what was going.
Speaker A:They were looking.
Speaker A:In fact, I gotta share this with you and you can give me what you think about it.
Speaker A:As I was reading in The Matthew chapter 2, as in verse 5 through 15, I found it quite amazing that when those guys, when they came and said, we're looking for the king, right?
Speaker A:And then Herod's kind of losing it, and he's like, okay, where did the king come from?
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So he asks the scholars and the scribes, and they Tell him.
Speaker A:They actually reference Micah, chapter five, verse two.
Speaker A:And it's almost as though those guys kind of knew something was going on.
Speaker A:Those other guys that told Herod.
Speaker A:But isn't it funny that they never told anybody else, like, 30 years later?
Speaker A:Jesus, didn't anybody think to write something really weird happened this week, just, like, let them know ahead of time?
Speaker A:We think this is Micah 5:2.
Speaker A:And nobody responded.
Speaker A:Just like, wow.
Speaker A:I thought they had some information.
Speaker A:They just didn't share it.
Speaker A:But the wise men, they knew what was going on.
Speaker A:They were on track.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:Excellent, excellent.
Speaker D:And then a couple of years later, there was more information when it was displaying of the innocence.
Speaker A:Exactly.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Exactly.
Speaker A:Boy, where you been?
Speaker A:I need you on this show more often.
Speaker D:Well, I've been in Lousiana.
Speaker D:I don't get to listen much.
Speaker A:Well, we love it that you're a part of it, and we love it that you're connected with us, and you know that.
Speaker A:And we will do anything for you.
Speaker A:You keep us posted on the prayer needs.
Speaker A:Are you doing okay?
Speaker D:I'm doing fine.
Speaker D:A few health issues, but mostly just concerned about my wife and the situation with Lousiana.
Speaker A:Yeah, I gotcha.
Speaker A:Let me.
Speaker A:Can I pray over you guys?
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Okay, let's pray.
Speaker A:Father, we come before you right now.
Speaker A:We lift up our brother and we just.
Speaker A:And for his wife, Lord.
Speaker A:Come on.
Speaker A:We are asking for graciousness.
Speaker A:We are asking for touch.
Speaker A:We ask him for encouragement.
Speaker A:We are asking for just for Will's wife to be blessed by you, by your presence, by your anointing, by your grace, and their whole situation, Lord, and their whole family and everything that's going on.
Speaker A:I'm asking for favor for Will and for his family.
Speaker A:Just favor for the family that comes from heaven that cannot be denied.
Speaker A:Speak in your graciousness to Will and in your faithfulness to his family.
Speaker A:In the name of Jesus, we pray.
Speaker A:Amen and amen and amen and amen.
Speaker D:And I agree.
Speaker A:Amen, brother.
Speaker A:God bless you.
Speaker D:You, too, sir.
Speaker A:All right, good to hear from you.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Bye.
Speaker A:Bye.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Loving it, loving it, loving it.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:We are going to do our DNA because we have to do DNA.
Speaker A:But don't kid yourself.
Speaker A:I got a lot of stuff to cover.
Speaker A:So let's do DNA.
Speaker A:D stands for Draw Closer to the Lord daily.
Speaker A:Because if you don't, you're shorting yourself.
Speaker A:How about that?
Speaker A:Because you're actually wounding yourself if you're not spending time with the Lord.
Speaker A:Why would you do that?
Speaker A:Why?
Speaker A:It's such a benefit.
Speaker A:It's like if you could eat chocolate cake and have no calories and no negative effects whatsoever, and it's just good for you, right?
Speaker A:Like it was healthy for you, you'd eat it all the.
Speaker A:Okay, now that's not the case with chocolate cake, but it is the case with spending time with the Lord daily.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:Draw closer to the Lord daily.
Speaker A:D n Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
Speaker A:I don't know if you guys notice what's going on in society in the world right now.
Speaker A:In fact, it seems like the division of the world is growing at an incredible rate, which shouldn't surprise anybody since it seems like the man of lawlessness will be the one to try and brings it all back united.
Speaker A:So let's keep that in mind.
Speaker A:But in the meantime, you and I cannot be capitulating because we are ashamed of the word of God or because other people have different opinions.
Speaker A:Congratulations on them having different opinions.
Speaker A:We'll just go with what God has to say, Right?
Speaker A:You guys follow all that other stuff, okay?
Speaker A:We're going to follow the Lord and we're not going to be ashamed of what he has to say.
Speaker A:And our famous, famous saying in this show is, if people don't like it, tough, because they don't have a heaven to put us in.
Speaker A:But Jesus does.
Speaker A:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
Speaker A:A Always be ready.
Speaker C:To serve.
Speaker A:Ready, ready to go.
Speaker A:I'm just ready, ready for whatever the Lord may or may not.
Speaker A:It's like it's not even.
Speaker A:What's the thing I wanted to say?
Speaker A:It's not even that.
Speaker A:You're just 100% on target all the time.
Speaker A:Nobody said that.
Speaker A:Nobody's saying that.
Speaker A:I'm not saying that.
Speaker A:I would not say that.
Speaker A:This is what I'd be saying.
Speaker A:It's not 100% perfect all the time.
Speaker A:It's just 100% willing.
Speaker A:That's a big difference.
Speaker A:I was talking to my son, and they're going to be going on this business thing.
Speaker A:And I said it's really important for you and your wife to.
Speaker A:To start each day spending just a couple of minutes.
Speaker A:Just pray.
Speaker A:Whatever their normal devotions are.
Speaker A:I'm not talking about that.
Speaker A:Just pray that extra minute.
Speaker A:Oh, my.
Speaker A:An extra 60 seconds or two.
Speaker A:Wow.
Speaker A:120 seconds.
Speaker A:Wow.
Speaker A:And just make sure that you're both mindful of the Lord in the beginning of the day so that you can face that day prepared not just for warfare, but.
Speaker A:But to be used by the Lord.
Speaker A:And you go into your day doing that, since they're in a special situation.
Speaker A:But I think every day should be like that for all of us.
Speaker A:We should be aware, not 100% perfect, just willing and ready.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:D Draw closer to the Lord daily.
Speaker A:N Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
Speaker A:A Always be ready to serve.
Speaker A:Okay, we'll take a short break and then we'll come back.
Speaker A:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

Speaker A:What is the David Spoon experience?
Speaker A:I want to pull this out of Jude.
Speaker A:Jude only has one chapter.
Speaker A:Jude is the letter before the Book of Revelation.
Speaker A:Revelation singular.
Speaker A:It's the last letter before the Book of Revelation.
Speaker A:And this is what it says in verses 17 through 19.
Speaker A:I want you to listen to this and then I want you to think about today all the stuff that's going on.
Speaker A:I'm not going to go overly political.
Speaker A:I want you just to think.
Speaker A:Consider the landscaping that we're all living in right now, the landscape of society.
Speaker A:It says this.
Speaker A:But you must remember, beloved, that the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, they said to you in the last times there will be scoffers following their own ungodly passions.
Speaker A:It is these who cause divisions.
Speaker A:Worldly people devoid of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Now listen to that.
Speaker A:This is a prophecy that is being brought up by Jude, who is a brother to Jesus, won't even identify himself that way.
Speaker A:Brother to James, who was in charge of the church after the James of Peter.
Speaker A:James, John died in Acts 12.
Speaker A:In Acts 15, the other James kind of ascends to the position of power, so to speak.
Speaker A:And he's not in charge of everybody.
Speaker A:He's just kind of leading the show.
Speaker A:And like Peter did in the early church.
Speaker A:And this is Jude, his brother and the brother of Jesus.
Speaker A:And he's telling you, you gotta remember what the apostle said.
Speaker A:The apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:He's so humble when he writes that on Christ the Solid Rock.
Speaker F:I stand.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker A:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
Speaker A:That's Ka Amen 770, the Truth Station here in Texas, where I'm going to ask you the next trivia question and give you an opportunity to answer.
Speaker A:But I have a feeling somebody's going to be ready to answer sooner than later.
Speaker A:Here we go.
Speaker A:In Genesis 32, who was greatly afraid and distressed about a reunion with a brother that he had wronged.
Speaker A:Genesis 32, 46 7, Genesis 32, 4 7.
Speaker A:In Genesis 32, who was greatly afraid and distressed about a reunion with a brother he had wronged.
Speaker A:Is that Joseph, Jacob, Aaron or Peter?
Speaker A:That is your opportunity.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: You can also text: Speaker A:Joseph, Jacob, Aaron or Peter.
Speaker A:Somebody is on the line.
Speaker A:Let's go ahead and send them through.
Speaker A:Knock, knock.
Speaker A:This is David.
Speaker A:Who am I talking to?
Speaker G:The trumpet's blowing.
Speaker G:Hey, David, this is Eric.
Speaker A:Hi, Eric.
Speaker A:How you doing?
Speaker A:I love that you do that intro for your, like when you get on the air and you go, da, da, da.
Speaker G:Well, I learned that from you because you do that every now and then when you're blowing the trumpet.
Speaker G:And then it's kind of like.
Speaker G:It kind of keeps my mind always thinking forward.
Speaker A:Absolutely.
Speaker A:Absolutely.
Speaker A:Excellent.
Speaker A:Excellent.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:My brother I assume you were able to hear the trivia question while you were on the phone.
Speaker G:Yeah, I like the way you guys put us on hold and we can hear the radio while we're on hold.
Speaker G:That's pretty cool.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's an awesome thing.
Speaker A:I know.
Speaker A:I do like that.
Speaker A:It is very, very cool.
Speaker A:All right, my brother, I'll ask you that question and give you the chance to answer in Genesis 32, who was greatly afraid and distressed about a reunion with his brother he had wronged.
Speaker A:Is that Joseph, Jacob, Aaron, or Peter?
Speaker G:Well, I think that would be the.
Speaker G:The brother.
Speaker G:Younger brother Jacob.
Speaker A:Guys.
Speaker G:Well, just Jacob.
Speaker A:I'm gonna say Jacob is correct.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:He backdoored his brother Esau.
Speaker A:We didn't really backdoor, but it is funny because it's like, over a bowl of stew, that better than a pretty good bowl of stew.
Speaker A:That better be worth something.
Speaker A:I mean, it was stew for Grandma.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Anyway, I'll leave that there.
Speaker A:How are you doing, brother?
Speaker A:How are things?
Speaker G:I'm doing good.
Speaker G:And I like the way two of my favorite people that called in today, too.
Speaker G:If there's other favorite people that calls in, but I like the way Will Rogers says his.
Speaker G:I'm.
Speaker G:I'm good, and I hope you're better.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker G:And.
Speaker G:And also the other caller I like hearing and makes good commentary with the trivia questions is Fred.
Speaker G:And those two guys are made by Friday.
Speaker G:Today, hearing them call in and just kind of.
Speaker G:They're always uplifting people, and they're.
Speaker G:They're very good.
Speaker G:It's good to hear them on a Friday.
Speaker A:You know, it's amazing.
Speaker A:I think people don't realize that, you know, when you get into familiarity and relationship and fellowship, then you get to hear from people that you've connected to over time.
Speaker A:It really is uplifting.
Speaker A:It really does.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:Oh, you know, it's like.
Speaker A:It's almost like, you know, when you go into church and you see somebody that you've known, maybe haven't seen them for a little while, but you see them and you're like, hey, how you doing?
Speaker A:There's something about the connection that's really powerful, isn't it?
Speaker G:Yeah.
Speaker G:Even when you don't even see them and you just know their voice.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker G:I feel connected.
Speaker G:So thanks, Will Rogers.
Speaker G:Thanks, Fred.
Speaker G:Appreciate it.
Speaker G:You guys keep calling in.
Speaker A:That's excellent.
Speaker A:That's excellent.
Speaker A:Great.
Speaker A:Rock and roll.
Speaker A:Phone call for you.
Speaker A:That was really good.
Speaker A:You get an extra golf clap for that.
Speaker A:Hold on, hold on.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Nice job.
Speaker G:Okay.
Speaker G:All right.
Speaker G:Take care, David.
Speaker A:God Bless, brother.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Love you in the Lord, man.
Speaker G:All right.
Speaker H:Love you.
Speaker A:Bye bye.
Speaker A:Bye, bye.
Speaker A:All right, let's get into.
Speaker A:We're going to get into our teaching.
Speaker A:You ready for teaching?
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:I'm going to teach you something that's going to irritate a few people.
Speaker A:I love you guys.
Speaker A:There's nothing I'm not trying to do to anybody anywhere.
Speaker A:But this is a really interesting portion out of 1st Samuel 10:6.
Speaker A:Now, you guys know I'm Baptistal.
Speaker A:How many people got to know that?
Speaker A:How many times do I got to tell you that?
Speaker A:What does that mean?
Speaker A:I am full blown Baptist and I am full blown Pentecostal.
Speaker A:Actually, I'm really neither of those.
Speaker A:I'm really just full blown trying to love Jesus.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:I love a lot of different theologies.
Speaker A:I don't have the problem.
Speaker A:Some people take sides.
Speaker A:It's like, you know, some people, like, I really want the Red Wings to win, but I like hockey.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:You know what I'm saying?
Speaker A:That's kind of a way that I think of these things.
Speaker A:So it's quite simple in this one.
Speaker A:This comes out of 1st Samuel, chapter 10, verse 6.
Speaker A:It's an old Testament teaching, but I want you to see the Old Testament manifestation of how to be different and how that can apply to your life.
Speaker A:I'm not trying to get you to be different than the theology you're comfortable with.
Speaker A:I'm trying just to put you in a position where the more of the Lord you have in your life, the better you are.
Speaker A:And here's what 1st Samuel 10:6 says.
Speaker A:The Spirit of the Lord will control you and you will prophesy with them and you will be transformed into a different person.
Speaker A:This is Samuel talking to Saul before he's king.
Speaker A:And the Spirit of the Lord says, the Spirit of the Lord will control you and you will prophesy with them and you will be transformed into a different person.
Speaker A:The Spirit of the Lord is the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Nobody's got a.
Speaker A:There's not a theological stretch for that.
Speaker A:Nobody's looking at anything weird.
Speaker A:You have to remember there is a difference between the Holy Spirit in us and upon us.
Speaker A:Did you know that the Holy Spirit is in you?
Speaker A:From the point of view of, you don't get Jesus and then the Holy Spirit's not there.
Speaker A:That's just silly.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:That's not it.
Speaker A:You might not be open to everything, you might not function in everything right away, but you're not getting Jesus in the fullness in Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:Colossians says, the Fullness of the Godhead dwells.
Speaker A:It's like you can't change that.
Speaker A:Of course you can send the Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:If you didn't get any of the Holy Spirit, you wouldn't have any fruits of the Spirit.
Speaker A:You might not speak in tongues, but if you can love your enemy, I'll put my money on you any day of the year.
Speaker A:That's all I'm saying.
Speaker A:And then consequently, you shouldn't have that negative reaction to people who speak in tongues either.
Speaker A:It shouldn't go either of those ways.
Speaker A:Just stop.
Speaker A:God's so much bigger than people.
Speaker A:It's so silly.
Speaker A:But he says this.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit will control you.
Speaker A:You'll prophesy.
Speaker A:So the Holy Spirit comes in us.
Speaker A:That is for the character building, the Holy Spirit in you, walking in the fruit of the Spirit.
Speaker A:But then the Holy Spirit comes upon people.
Speaker A:And that has much more to do with ministry and doing things in the kingdom.
Speaker A:Okay, big deal.
Speaker A:Not a biggie.
Speaker A:But what he says is this.
Speaker A:You'll be transformed.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit is going to control you.
Speaker A:I think that's a fascinating Hebrew word because guess what that word control means?
Speaker A:Means.
Speaker A:It means to lead, to guide, to influence and to direct.
Speaker A:To lead, to guide, to influence and to direct.
Speaker A:And you're thinking, well, how does that apply to the New testament?
Speaker A:Because Romans 8:14 says, as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Speaker A:Not as many as were led, as many as are led.
Speaker A:In the perfect present tense.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit is supposed to lead us, guide us, influence us and direct us.
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker A:Except this is in first Samuel 10.
Speaker A:And then what Samuel says is, the Holy Spirit, he's going to transform you.
Speaker A:That Hebrew word is just yet another awesome word.
Speaker A:It means to change, renovate or rejuvenate.
Speaker A:How cool is that?
Speaker A:How many of you feel you could use a rejuvenation?
Speaker A:A little bit of a renovation?
Speaker A:Well, that's.
Speaker A:The Holy Spirit does that.
Speaker A:And then he says this and will transform you into a different person.
Speaker A:And you can't miss this.
Speaker A:That's like.
Speaker A:You mean like being born again?
Speaker A:Like new, like fresh.
Speaker A:You really want to be a different Christian than walk in the fullness of God.
Speaker A:You need the word of God to be your plumb line.
Speaker A:There is no other plumb line.
Speaker A:Don't tell me your receivers are more accurate than the word of God.
Speaker A:Okay, God created the universe.
Speaker A:The dude can write a book.
Speaker A:We are supposed to be spirit led, but Bible grounded.
Speaker A:Yes, people reach different conclusions.
Speaker A:Amazingly, the church has still survived.
Speaker A:Why?
Speaker A:Because It's God's church, not man's church.
Speaker A:I even read an article the church almost died in 303 AD.
Speaker A:No, it didn't.
Speaker A:That's the stupidity of mankind.
Speaker A:You think God was going to let it die?
Speaker A:God wasn't done.
Speaker A:Behold, Jesus said, I build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Speaker A:He's either a liar or he's telling the truth.
Speaker A:Bing.
Speaker A:That's it.
Speaker A:So what I'm trying to tell you is be a Bible person.
Speaker A:Be a Bible guy or gal.
Speaker A:Absolutely, positively zero question in that teaching.
Speaker A:Understand in the Old and New Testament that we are supposed to be directed, controlled, guided and led by the Holy Spirit, who transforms, renovates us, and rejuvenates us and makes us into a whole different person.
Speaker A:Like being born again, new and fresh.
Speaker A:And if you're telling me you don't need freshness in your Christian walk, I want to hang out with you.
Speaker A:Get it?
Speaker A:Got it.
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker A:Same God, different covenants, same love, same anointing.
Speaker A:Get it?
Speaker A:Got it.
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker A:All right, we'll take a break and then come back.
Speaker A:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Short break.
Speaker A:We'll be back.
Speaker A:Don't go anywhere.
Speaker F:What is the David Spoon Experience?
Speaker F: lf on a rocket ship racing at: Speaker F:Once there, you can sense the power and the presence of the majestic and the divine.
Speaker F:You forget about your troubles and your fears, and you just float in peace without a worry.
Speaker F:In the world, there are no struggles, no pain, no discomfort.
Speaker F:It's soothing, calm, comfortable.
Speaker F:But then the show starts, and you realize that none of that stuff has anything to do with the show.
Speaker F:What were you thinking?
Speaker F:The David Spoon Experience?
Speaker F:Only for the brave of heart and the bored.
Speaker A:The David Spoon Experience.
Speaker H:They were sisters.
Speaker A:That is correct, sir.
Speaker A:You are right.
Speaker A:And it's like.
Speaker A:It's like.
Speaker A:I'm not saying I don't want to, you understand, but, like, yuck.
Speaker A:That's all I can say.
Speaker A:It's like, I'm sorry.
Speaker A:That's all I can come up with.
Speaker A:Like, yowza.
Speaker G:Well, he was.
Speaker H:He was tricked into it.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:I mean, I'm gonna go with that.
Speaker A:But I.
Speaker A:I mean, if you're the two sisters, you just got to be thinking, now wait a second here.
Speaker A:Can I.
Speaker H:Can I tell a real quick joke?
Speaker H:I won't take up much time.
Speaker H:Hopefully try to make it.
Speaker H:Try to make it biblical, but not scriptural.
Speaker A:I'm with you.
Speaker A:That's about 99% of everything we do on jokes.
Speaker A:Trust me.
Speaker H:I figured you understand.
Speaker H:To set this up.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker H:To set this up, when I ask the question, you'll have to answer it to the first thing that pops into your head.
Speaker H:Otherwise it'll.
Speaker H:It's.
Speaker H:It's kind of like those knock, knock jokes.
Speaker H:You have to say, knock, knock, you know, or who's there?
Speaker H:So anyway, Paul was out in the Mediterranean Sea.
Speaker H:He was sailing across it, and right before the storm hit, he was writing some letters.
Speaker H:He was sitting there writing, and one of the sailors came up and looked at him and said, what are you doing?
Speaker H:I said, well, I'm writing some letters here.
Speaker H:And he paused, put down his quill and parchment and looked up at the sailor and says, decided this is the time to talk to him.
Speaker H:He says, now here's the question, David, and this is where you have to answer.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker H:What is a pirate's favorite letter of the Alphabet?
Speaker H:And the sailor said, nah, that would.
Speaker A:Be the C making the sea.
Speaker A:That's a good idea.
Speaker A:So it's not the R?
Speaker A:No, it's the C.
Speaker A:It's the C, matey.
Speaker I:Hey.
Speaker H:Hey.
Speaker H:I love your show.
Speaker H:Thanks.
Speaker H:Thanks for keeping it going.
Speaker A:Appreciate it.
Speaker A:Thank you.
Speaker A:Thank you for being such a great brother and a great support.
Speaker A:We appreciate you.
Speaker A:Welcome back to that David Spoon experience.
Speaker A:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
Speaker A:That's Kaam.
Speaker A:Well, amen, 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
Speaker A:I will say it is kind of nice to do the show with telephone calls and the Internet and everything working.
Speaker C:Doesn't it just add to the show?
Speaker A:It does add to the show.
Speaker A:I mean, you cannot take that away.
Speaker A:It does add to the show, and I like it.
Speaker A:And it's fun.
Speaker A:And then it's Friday and, you know, it's like, you know.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:All right, so here's your next trivia question.
Speaker A:Get ready.
Speaker A:This is a little tougher.
Speaker A:We've told people like 5 million times.
Speaker A:The fourth out of five questions.
Speaker A:Always tougher.
Speaker A:Right, right.
Speaker A:It's not that tough.
Speaker A:It's just tougher.
Speaker A:So there's a big difference.
Speaker A:All right, here you go.
Speaker A:Fill in the blank from Galatians.
Speaker A:I think it's chapter five.
Speaker A:Stand fast, therefore, in the blank.
Speaker A:Wherewith Christ has made us free.
Speaker A:I believe that's Galatians, chapter 5, verse 1.
Speaker A:Stand fast, therefore, in the blank.
Speaker A:Wherewith Christ has made us free is that word.
Speaker A:Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty, the choice or the spirit.
Speaker A:Wherewith Christ has made us free.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:And any word you use, it'll be okay to use a variation of that word.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:Just fill in the blank.
Speaker A:Stand fast, therefore in the blank.
Speaker A:Wherewith Christ has made us free.
Speaker A:Galatians 5, and it's verse 1.
Speaker A:So while I'm stalling you, I'm going to double check that.
Speaker A:I'm pretty sure that is exactly the little fill that I was doing just a couple of seconds ago about Galatians chapter 5.
Speaker A:And that is the right reference.
Speaker A:Galatians 5:1.
Speaker A:Stand fast, therefore, in the blank by which Christ has made us flesh free.
Speaker A:Any variation of the Word will be just fine.
Speaker A:We, of course, do have somebody on the line.
Speaker A:Before we get there, I do want to send you up to the website and I want to point out something.
Speaker A:I don't like having to ask you for money, but I have to ask you because it's how the ministry exists.
Speaker A:It's a nonprofit organization that operates off of the donations of our listeners.
Speaker A:But we have had a phenomenal six year run and I'm not kidding at all when I say I want to see a seventh year.
Speaker A:But to do that, we need your help.
Speaker A:If you are willing to.
Speaker A:If you are not able to give, we are asking you to pray.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:I mean that.
Speaker A:Come on, you can say a prayer for us.
Speaker A:I'm saying prayers for you.
Speaker A:I pray for the listening audience every single day.
Speaker A:If you are able to give, awesome.
Speaker A:If you've given and you can't give anymore, don't worry.
Speaker A:Don't any of that weird stuff.
Speaker A:Just be a part of it and we'll all just do it together the best we can.
Speaker A: Deuteronomy: Speaker A:Give generous to the needy.
Speaker A:And do not let your heart be grieved when you do that.
Speaker A:Because of this, the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and everything to which you put your hands.
Speaker A:Consider giving.
Speaker A:Definitely be praying.
Speaker A:We thank you regardless.
Speaker A:And please never disconnect from the show because we want everybody to be a part of it.
Speaker A:Check it all out on the website.
Speaker A:Hemustincrease.org Prayer Request hemosincrease.org Praise Report Looking to give to this ministry confused by what's happening right now.
Speaker A:He must.
Speaker A:Increase.org hemustincrease.org I declare bankruptcy.
Speaker A:See, I don't want to say that.
Speaker A:That's a good one.
Speaker A:That's a good follow up on that one.
Speaker A:All right, we do have somebody ready to answer the trivia question.
Speaker A:Let's send them on through.
Speaker A:Knock knock.
Speaker A:This Is David.
Speaker A:Who am I talking to?
Speaker I:It's Brother Roger again.
Speaker A:Hello, Brother Roger again.
Speaker A:On a Friday.
Speaker A:How are you?
Speaker I:Yeah, they had basketball yesterday.
Speaker A:That's true, brother.
Speaker A:That is true.
Speaker A:That was a good one.
Speaker A:All right, my brother, let me set you up on the trivia question.
Speaker A:We'll go from there.
Speaker A:Fill in the blank from Galatians, chapter 5, verse 1.
Speaker A:Stand fast, therefore, in the blank wherewith Christ has made us free.
Speaker A:Is that liberty, choice or spirit?
Speaker I:Liberty.
Speaker A:That is correct, sir.
Speaker A:You are corruptible.
Speaker A:No, that is right.
Speaker A:It is liberty.
Speaker A:And it could be freedom if you didn't have choices.
Speaker I:I would have said, stand fast in the faith.
Speaker A:Yeah, I know.
Speaker A:And that would have thrown people out for sure.
Speaker A:But liberty would be.
Speaker A:Now, liberty is the older version, but also it's stand fast in the freedom, whereas Christ has made us free.
Speaker A:That would also apply.
Speaker A:So in that case, in just that particular one, Joanne and Cordelia got the powpaw on that.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:Excellent, excellent.
Speaker A:What the scripture tells us to do is stay in the freedom that God has put you in.
Speaker A:Don't be bound up again.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker I:Amen.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:All right, my brother.
Speaker A:How are things where.
Speaker I:We're at the getting by level.
Speaker A:They're at the getting by level.
Speaker A:So you're not at the.
Speaker A:I'm not getting by.
Speaker A:But you're at the getting by, which means it's not high up, but it's in the survival mode.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker I:Yeah, we're.
Speaker I:We're maintaining.
Speaker I:I'm maintaining and my wife's maintaining our faith in the Lord.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker I:We're going to.
Speaker I:We're going to maintain.
Speaker I:That's why I said to the true reflection, I would have said faith, you know.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker I:That's what we're doing.
Speaker I:We're keeping the faith in the Lord and what the Lord has done.
Speaker I:And I'm.
Speaker I:I'm not.
Speaker I:I know.
Speaker I:I don't go by what I see.
Speaker I:I go by faith.
Speaker I:Faith is the evidence of something you don't see.
Speaker I:And you know, if you could see it, then you wouldn't need faith.
Speaker A:That's exactly correct.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:That statement right there is exactly correct.
Speaker A:If the Lord told you everything, you would never walk by faith.
Speaker A:If he told you everything you wanted to know ahead of time, you'd never have to exercise faith.
Speaker A:But that's what he wants.
Speaker A:He wants you to walk, operate in faith.
Speaker A:And we're supposed to walk by what we believe.
Speaker A:We walk by faith and not by sight.
Speaker A:By what we.
Speaker A:We don't walk by what we see.
Speaker A:We walk by what we believe.
Speaker I:And the biggest thing to realize that you have to trust the Lord, but he might be seen if he can trust you.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And how I would say that.
Speaker A:I know where you're going with that.
Speaker A:How I would say that is he wants you to see where you're at.
Speaker A:He already knows, but he wants you to see where you at, and then he'll reveal that to you.
Speaker A:That's one of the biggest things people miss is God knows.
Speaker A:He's trying to teach you where you're at.
Speaker A:Right, exactly.
Speaker A:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker I:He's trying to get you to where you need to be.
Speaker A:Correct.
Speaker I:That's why that little feel where I say, God's still working on me to make me what I'll be.
Speaker I:Well, he's trying to get me to where I ought to be.
Speaker A:Exactly.
Speaker A:But right, exactly.
Speaker A:Right, right.
Speaker A:It's like, that's exactly what it is.
Speaker A:And what people do is they think, well, if God did this, or if God did this, it's like, you wouldn't have the faith, the walk, and let's just be honest, you wouldn't have the gold that you've laid up for heaven if God just let you do it the way you wanted to do it.
Speaker A:How about that?
Speaker A:That's like, ooh.
Speaker A:I mean, and then when you're in heaven and you have all those rewards, you'll be like, going, okay, my bad.
Speaker A:He was right.
Speaker A:Excellent, excellent, excellent.
Speaker A:Very good, brother.
Speaker A:Very good.
Speaker A:Well, I want people to be praying for you.
Speaker A:You know that, right?
Speaker A:I want people praying for Brother Roger.
Speaker I:I already feel the radio ministry prayers.
Speaker I:I feel my friends praying.
Speaker I:I have several friends that pray.
Speaker I:I have neighbors pray.
Speaker I:I have an awesome church that prays.
Speaker I:So I am fully covered by prayer, but I always need more.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Never say no to prayer.
Speaker I:Just like David Spoon needs a little bit more prayer to get over the top.
Speaker A:Yep, exactly.
Speaker I:We're gonna pray that David's Food Ministries is going to be the head and not the tail.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:Absolutely.
Speaker I:He's going to be.
Speaker I:He's.
Speaker I:He's not going to just get by, but he's going to have more than enough.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:Exceedingly, abundantly.
Speaker A:Above all that we ask or think.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:That's exactly, absolutely.
Speaker I:Never left his children forsaken.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:That is right.
Speaker I:You might have to readjust here and there.
Speaker I:And we.
Speaker I:You just.
Speaker I:Sometimes you just have to go with the flow, Brother David.
Speaker I:I mean, I just.
Speaker I:I hate.
Speaker I:I.
Speaker I:I paddle upstream sometimes.
Speaker I:And God said, why are you working so hard?
Speaker A:That's great.
Speaker A:Excellent job, my brother.
Speaker A:You are very, very blessed.
Speaker A:You have blessed this audience greatly.
Speaker A:You are blessed and the Lord will yet bless you more.
Speaker I:I know that.
Speaker I:I know that, brother.
Speaker I:God bless you.
Speaker I:And you just keep on keeping on.
Speaker I:Brother David.
Speaker I:God, I texted the other day.
Speaker I:God's got you.
Speaker A:Amen, brother.
Speaker A:And I appreciate, I really do appreciate it.
Speaker I:All right.
Speaker I:We love you.
Speaker I:I love your show.
Speaker I:I love what you are teaching.
Speaker I:You are a true doctor of love.
Speaker I:In Jesus name, amen.
Speaker A:Amen, brother.
Speaker A:That's very kind.
Speaker A:That's very kind of you to say.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:All right, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we'll take a short break, come back, we still have something yet to do, so don't get too excited.
Speaker A:Plus, I have a little bit of news that you don't know about.
Speaker A:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:Short break, we'll be back.
Speaker A:Don't go anywhere.
Speaker A:What is the David Spoon Experience?
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:Psalm 46:1 3.
Speaker A:This was the first, a psalm that was read to me when I went to Bible college.
Speaker A:The very first class I ever took in Bible college a bazillion years ago.
Speaker A:Let me just say that Psalm 46:1 3.
Speaker A:God is our refuge and strength and ever present help in trouble.
Speaker A:Therefore we will not fear.
Speaker A:Though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their suffering.
Speaker A:Here is something to consider that will be just absolutely a mind blower.
Speaker A:How should you and I respond if the earth falls out of its rotation?
Speaker A:Okay, so my brother in law works for JPL and is actually one of the people that helped write the program that helped land the Mars Rover on Mars.
Speaker A:He helped write the computer programming.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:He's much smarter than me in those realms.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:About my age, little younger, about my age.
Speaker A:Very, very intelligent guy, right?
Speaker A:And he's the one I always make a joke, you know, what keeps the earth rotating.
Speaker A:And so you'll hear me say that it's on a perfect 23 and a half degree rotation from the moon and from the exact rotation from the sun.
Speaker A:Or it's three mice chasing a piece of cheese and a wheel, one of those two.
Speaker A:So the idea behind that, and that whole story is the Earth is in this absolutely perfect rotation with the moon and the sun.
Speaker A:And without it, the Earth would go through a free fall, just even a half a degree off.
Speaker A:It's over.
Speaker A:It's all over.
Speaker A:I mean, there would be Instant tidal waves.
Speaker A:Everything would just be upside down.
Speaker A:And if that ever happened, you would know that's the end.
Speaker A:Although that's not how the end is going to happen.
Speaker A:We already know from Scripture.
Speaker A:But here's what the psalmist is saying.
Speaker A:It doesn't matter how bad it gets.
Speaker A:It doesn't matter if your world seems like it's upside down.
Speaker A:It doesn't matter if it's out of rotation.
Speaker A:It doesn't matter if the mountains fall into the sea.
Speaker A:It doesn't matter if the waters roar.
Speaker A:God is a refuge, and a refuge is a shelter in a storm.
Speaker A:You would first think of a lean to.
Speaker A:That is what a shelter in a storm is.
Speaker A:So when it's raining, you find a lean to.
Speaker A:You put something on a tree, you put it against something else and you get under it so you're away from that.
Speaker A:And it says that God is a refuge, a strength, an ever present doesn't help, which means he's helpful today, not just when it's all settled in eternity.
Speaker A:And there lies a problem for some Christians is they keep thinking, well, in the sweet by and by, everything will get worked out.
Speaker A:Well, that is true that everything will be completely worked out in the sweet by and by.
Speaker A:But God is an ever present help, which means for today and not just for tomorrow.
Speaker A:And then the position of the psalmist is therefore, therefore, therefore.
Speaker A:In other words, it's a conclusion.
Speaker A:So God is our refuge and strength.
Speaker A:Okay, so he's our lean to in a storm.
Speaker A:He's our ever present help.
Speaker A:Therefore, I don't have to be afraid.
Speaker A:The David Spoon Experience welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
Speaker A:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770.
Speaker A:The truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:That's Ka Man.
Speaker A:The truth Station here in Texas.
Speaker A:We're going to do one more trivia question, but you have to be speedy if you're going to call.
Speaker A:All right, your trivia question.
Speaker A:Which New Testament book begins the former treaty have I made?
Speaker A:O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach.
Speaker A:Which book starts that way?
Speaker A:Matthew, Luke, John, or Acts?
Speaker A:I can't give you the reference point because that's not a good thing.
Speaker A:Listen to what I'm saying though.
Speaker A:Okay, Listen to this.
Speaker A:The former treaty have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach.
Speaker A:This then is what book's beginning?
Speaker A:Matthew, Luke, John, or X?
Speaker A:This book begins this way.
Speaker A:O the former treaty have I made O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to both do and teach.
Speaker A:Is that Matthew, Luke, John or Acts.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A:You can.
Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A: -: Speaker A:Or send an email davidemustincrease.org okay, so I'm trying to just move things along.
Speaker A:People don't need to get upset or anything.
Speaker A:Just kind of follow the show.
Speaker A:We do the best we can.
Speaker A:We do have somebody ready to answer in a very quick.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:All right, let's send them on through.
Speaker A:Knock, knock.
Speaker A:This is David.
Speaker A:Who am I talking to?
Speaker J:This is Gary.
Speaker J:How are you doing today?
Speaker A:I'm doing good, Gary.
Speaker A:How are you doing?
Speaker J:Well, I'm about the same, but I just keep praying.
Speaker A:I got you, brother.
Speaker A:Let's do the question.
Speaker A:Which book begins the former treaty have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach.
Speaker A:Is that Matthew, Luke, John, or Acts?
Speaker J:I believe that's Acts.
Speaker A:That is correct, Emmanuel.
Speaker A:Remember in this text he's writing the former treaty I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do and teach.
Speaker A:So that's Luke writing the Gospel of Luke, but that happens to be the beginning of Acts.
Speaker A:You're correct, sir.
Speaker A:And so let me pray for you.
Speaker A:Anything on that other thing?
Speaker A:Have you gotten any movement on that?
Speaker J:There's been some movement there, but I'm still working on that and some other stuff.
Speaker J:I just believe God's going to help me get all this straightened out.
Speaker A:All right, let's pray exactly that.
Speaker A:Let's do it.
Speaker A:Father, we come before you right now.
Speaker A:We lift up Gary, our brother, to you, and we thank you for Gary.
Speaker A:And we are asking that you would bless him.
Speaker A:And Lord, he's been going through a couple of struggles and he's got the physical struggle.
Speaker A:And we're asking you to bring healing there.
Speaker A:But in these other areas, push him through those, let him get through that, so that all those other struggles and areas of discomfort and unease can be removed and reduced to nada.
Speaker A:But Lord, we need your power, power to move upon his body so that he can get healing power from you, so that he can get the power of the Holy Spirit to touch him and energize him and strength him and bring literal healing into his body that comes from you.
Speaker A:We are asking you to heal our brother in the name of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, for your glory, for his blessing, for our rejoicing.
Speaker A:We are asking you to bring healing into his body and help to his circumstance so that it does not overwhelm him, but he is able to overcome it.
Speaker A:And we ask for your blessing upon him.
Speaker A:And this weekend would be a great weekend for him.
Speaker A:We really do pray that you'd have a great weekend.
Speaker A:By your grace, we pray that in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Speaker A:Amen and Amen.
Speaker J:Amen.
Speaker J:Thank you very much.
Speaker J:And I've been praying for all of you.
Speaker J:I'll continue to pray for you.
Speaker J:And God bless you.
Speaker A:Thank you, brother.
Speaker A:And God bless you as well.
Speaker A:All right, we're going to exit with this teaching at 1 Samuel 7:2:3.
Speaker A:I just want you to hear it.
Speaker A:This is not any kind of reproof or rebuke, but it's fast, but it's good.
Speaker A:Time went by until 20 years had passed since the Ark had been taken to Kiriath Jearim.
Speaker A:Then the whole house of Israel began to seek the Lord.
Speaker A:Samuel told them, if you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, get rid of the foreign gods and asterisks that are among you.
Speaker A:Dedicate yourself to the Lord and worship him only then he will rescue you from the hand of the Philistines.
Speaker A:What he says is, if you're returning, returning has to do with repenting.
Speaker A:So he says, if you're going to do that, if you're really going to repent, going to be genuine, do it with all your heart.
Speaker A:Don't come before the Lord and say, yeah, I know I'm not supposed to do this.
Speaker A:I'm sorry.
Speaker A:And not mean it.
Speaker A:Have it be real.
Speaker A:And then he says, get rid of anything that's in between you and the Lord.
Speaker A:Dedicate yourself to the Lord and worship only the Lord.
Speaker A:So here's how that works.
Speaker A:And it's a different format or a different approach to repentance.
Speaker A:I just want you to catch it.
Speaker A:When you return to the Lord.
Speaker A:Don't do it half hearted.
Speaker A:Give God everything.
Speaker A:If you know you're doing something wrong and you don't have the fullness of that guilt or that fullness of the sorrow.
Speaker A:Tell the Lord that it's not like you're hiding it from Him.
Speaker A:Say, I want to turn back in this with everything I have.
Speaker A:I want it eradicated from me.
Speaker A:Be honest about it.
Speaker A:And then he says, if you're going to do that, he says, get rid of foreign gods and foreign gods are anything that's in between you and God.
Speaker A:Dedicate yourself to the Lord.
Speaker A:Dedicate to the Lord and worship him only.
Speaker A:God is the only being you are permitted to worship.
Speaker A:And if you do that, if you come to the Lord with all your heart, if you bring before him things that you have in between you and him and say, I lay this down at the altar and I dedicate myself, I devote myself, I commit myself to you and I want to worship you only.
Speaker A:You only are worthy of praise.
Speaker A:Then the Lord's going to rescue you.
Speaker A:And see, you look at it and you think, well, you know, it's all those things.
Speaker A:Look, it all starts with this very simple process.
Speaker A:You return to the Lord with all your heart.
Speaker A:And if your heart's not in it, tell God that he hears you.
Speaker A:He knows, say, help me to get my whole heart there in the return.
Speaker A:The real reason for all this is because it puts you in a place where you are fully dependent on the Lord.
Speaker A:Not just as you're walking in victory, but as you're pushing past these things you must overcome.
Speaker A:Get it?
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAAM 770, the truth station here in Texas.
Speaker A:72 and a half hour break, then we'll come back, More insanity with Spoonanity.
Speaker A:Talk to you then.
Speaker B:The views expressed in the preceding program were those of the speakers and not necessarily those of kaam, DJRD Broadcasting or its sponsors.
