01-27-2025 part 2: The Unseen Work of God: How Every Event Matters in His Plan
There is no useless in what God allows, and this episode emphasizes the importance of persistent prayer for our family members who may be deceived or taken captive by the world. Dr. David Spoon explores the story of Abraham and Lot, illustrating how significant events in life, even those that seem trivial or disconnected, are woven into God's greater plan. He highlights that just as Abraham did not abandon Lot despite his poor choices, we too must not give up on our loved ones, no matter how far they stray. The discussion encourages listeners to seek support from fellow believers, reinforcing the idea that we are not meant to navigate life's challenges alone. Ultimately, the episode serves as a reminder to trust in God's overarching purpose and to be steadfast in prayer for those we care about.
The podcast episode unfolds the intricate relationship between faith, prayer, and the unfolding of God’s plans in the lives of believers. Dr. David Spoon begins with a compelling account from Genesis 14, where the narrative of a war between kings leads to the capture of Lot, Abraham's nephew. He articulates that events in life, much like this biblical account, may appear chaotic or unrelated, but they are deeply rooted in God's sovereign plan. Spoon encourages listeners to reflect on how their own life experiences—good or bad—are part of a larger divine tapestry that holds meaning and purpose. He emphasizes that nothing is wasted in God’s economy, urging the audience to embrace their experiences, even the painful ones, as opportunities for spiritual growth and connection to God's will.
Throughout the episode, the theme of intercession emerges strongly. Spoon passionately advocates for the need to continually pray for family members who may be lost or struggling, drawing a parallel with Abraham's urgent response to Lot’s predicament. This call to action resonates deeply as he reminds listeners that faith is not just a personal journey but one that involves communal responsibility. The narrative reinforces the idea that we should never give up on our loved ones, as God’s redemptive power can reach even the most wayward hearts.
As the discussion progresses, Spoon highlights the importance of community in the Christian faith. He shares insights on how believers should gather support in times of trouble, just as Abraham did by rallying his allies to rescue Lot. This reinforces the message that no one should face their battles alone, and that collective prayer and support are vital. The episode wraps up with a strong encouragement to trust in God's plan, fostering a spirit of hope and resilience among listeners as they navigate their personal and familial challenges.
Takeaways:
- God orchestrates events in our lives, ensuring nothing is without purpose or meaning.

And now for something completely different.
David Spoon:Here's what's coming up this hour on today's Experience.
David Spoon:Its marvelous, monumental, most fascinating, massively mind bending Monday as we join our hearts and minds as one, drawing closer to the king of kings and glorifying his name.
David Spoon:First, we pick it back up in Genesis 14, starting with verse one, where it turns out that a war broke out in the region between two different groups of kings.
David Spoon:It's probably helpful for most people to understand there were different groups of people throughout the earth at this time.
David Spoon:Not everything on the entire planet was only focused on Abraham and the land of promise.
David Spoon:But having said that, people were doing other things at the same time.
David Spoon:However, those other things, if they ever interfered, interfered with what God was doing, then it became a completely different issue.
David Spoon:That's what we got going on here.
David Spoon:Four kings fought against five kings.
David Spoon:And the five kings consisted of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, along with three other kings.
David Spoon:These five kings had been subject to the one king for 12 years.
David Spoon:They'd had enough.
David Spoon:And in the 13th year, they decided to stand their ground.
David Spoon:Finally, the victorious four kings won, plundering Sodom and Gomorrah and began their long journey home, taking all the wealth and food with them.
David Spoon:That might not seem like such a big deal, except they also captured Lot, Abraham's nephew, who lived in Sodom.
David Spoon:He took everything that they took, everything he owned.
David Spoon:But as the story unfolds, we find out that even a small and insignificant skirmish to us can still fit into God's plans for us.
Co-host:Specifically, David Spoon's life has been an experience.
Co-host:While growing up in a Jewish family, he made a wrong turn towards drug abuse, then towards David Spoon found Jesus Christ and his life completely changed.
Co-host:The more he studied the Gospel, the more he wanted to share his experiences with others.
Co-host:After 35 years of ministry, David discovered a new path of service.
Co-host:He joined KAAM and this radio program began.
Co-host:You're about to hear the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Welcome to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Local, national and heavenly talk.
David Spoon:Here's what else we're looking at, Dave.
David Spoon:During the show, lessons for surviving, living and prevailing politics, entertainment and current events, personal revelations, spiritual observations, my life's insanities, and oy vey, so much more.
David Spoon:Now, we've told you before, it's not professional radio and I want everybody to really get a clue.
David Spoon:So in order to get a clue that it's not professional radio, we want to talk to Professor Plum, the Professor Plum of professional radio, so we can get a clue.
David Spoon:Our very own Jam and Jacob.
David Spoon:Do you like that connection there?
David Spoon:It is.
David Spoon:Jam and Jacob, because you are the Professor Plum.
David Spoon:And trying to get people a clue is the David Spoon experience professional radio?
Caller:No, it is not.
David Spoon:David, did you like that little Professor Plum thing with a clue and the whole thing?
David Spoon:The character in the game clue, Professor Plum.
Caller:Yeah, that's a good one.
Caller:I thought you were going to go another superhero character.
David Spoon:I will, but not today.
Caller:Okay?
Caller:Okay.
Caller:I'll be waiting.
David Spoon:You're lucky I didn't start off with Colonel Mustard.
David Spoon:I went with Professor Plum.
David Spoon:I was trying to be nice.
David Spoon:All right, here we go.
David Spoon:Here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:Bottom line is, it's not professional radio.
David Spoon:It's just radio.
David Spoon:It's just all of us having fellowship on the air.
David Spoon:It's like, can you have fellowship on the air?
David Spoon:Well, if you read your Bible, you find out you can.
David Spoon:You can have fellowship even at a distance.
David Spoon:Paul had fellowship with the church at Colossians, but he never met them face to face.
David Spoon:There you go.
David Spoon:So, keeping that as simple as we can, here's what we're going to encourage you to do if you want to reach out to us.
David Spoon:If you've got something going on, if there is something taking place.
David Spoon:Hey, it's easy to email davidemustincrease.org.
David Spoon:david's easy to spell is the A with the circle.
David Spoon:He must increase from John 3, 30.
David Spoon:He must increase.
David Spoon:I must decrease dot org.
David Spoon:Because we're a nonprofit corporation, you can email us.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or you can call us.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Talking to Jam and Jacob.
David Spoon:That, my friends, is like knowing that your spiritual radio family has your back.
David Spoon:Aw, that's so nice.
Caller:Thank you, David.
Caller:Happy Monday.
David Spoon:Happy Monday.
David Spoon:Went nothing like we thought of again on a Monday for another David Spoon experience show Monday, which was nothing like we thought it'd be like Monday, Monday to you, too, my friend.
David Spoon:You just don't have.
David Spoon:Not a clue.
David Spoon:You people have no idea.
David Spoon:We have no idea.
Caller:Well, just like the DNR DNA, we have no idea what the show's gonna be daily.
David Spoon:Daily.
David Spoon:We're just like, we think.
David Spoon:Yeah, yeah.
David Spoon:We should see the notes that are sitting at the side that go next week.
David Spoon:Anyhow, here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:The bottom line is, why would you email us?
David Spoon:Why would you text?
David Spoon:Why would you in fact call us up?
David Spoon:What would lead you to do that?
David Spoon:Well, it could be appraised, report something happened that's really good, or you know, it's good and you just kind of know you should share it.
David Spoon:And you're just like, okay, well, here's your encouragement.
David Spoon:Share it because it will bless others, it will encourage yourself, but it will honor God.
David Spoon:Maybe you got a prayer request.
David Spoon:Maybe like Tyler, maybe you got other things going on.
David Spoon:We have several prayer requests.
David Spoon:Start off with five or six of them in the show.
David Spoon:Why?
David Spoon:Because one prayer works.
David Spoon:Number two, we have needs.
David Spoon:And we have not just needs, but we have things that we want to be connected to, doing it right, doing it well.
David Spoon:And so we pray for one another.
David Spoon:Because prayer works.
David Spoon:No, it doesn't work for people that don't believe very often because they don't have faith.
David Spoon:Without faith, it's impossible to receive.
David Spoon:It's impossible to please.
David Spoon:It's impossible to honor God.
David Spoon:Now, it is true, he will from time to time just drop something on something, somebody's lap.
David Spoon:He is gifty that way.
David Spoon:But what I'm trying to catch to you, what I'm trying to communicate to you, what I'm trying to reach to you in, is God is waiting for us to believe him.
David Spoon:He's waiting to manifest his kingdom in our lives.
David Spoon:Just think of that.
David Spoon:So it's a little bit on us, okay?
David Spoon:It's a lot on us.
David Spoon:Maybe you've got something you just want to share.
David Spoon:Maybe something happened at church or something happened.
David Spoon:I was talking to Josh today.
David Spoon:They're going to see a friend who.
David Spoon:Who made a decision to get baptized and they're going to the service.
David Spoon:That's like, super cool.
David Spoon:He's like all excited.
David Spoon:That's great.
David Spoon:That's how it should be for one another, with one another.
David Spoon:Maybe you've got an answer to trivia and you're just feeling like, hey, Dave, I know the answers.
David Spoon:Okay, let's see if you know the answer.
David Spoon:This is coming out of Acts 5:29.
David Spoon:Acts 5:29.
David Spoon:Who did Peter and the other apostles say that they ought to obey?
David Spoon:Wise parents, strangers with good deeds, priests, or God himself?
David Spoon:Who did Peter and the other apostles say we ought to obey?
David Spoon:Who?
David Spoon:Wise parents, strangers?
David Spoon:Who you know, good deeds, priests, or God Himself?
David Spoon:Acts 5:29.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Additionally, you can send an email david@hemustincrease.org this is when Peter and the apostles were standing before the Sanhedrin.
David Spoon:And Peter and the apostles responded and said we ought to obey.
David Spoon:Who was it that they said they ought to obey?
David Spoon:Wise parents, strangers with good deeds?
David Spoon:Priests or God?
David Spoon:That is the question.
David Spoon:That is your trivia.
David Spoon:That is before you.
David Spoon:In the meantime, we will jump directly into DNA.
David Spoon:D stands for Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:Now, a great example of why you would do that is because you don't know what's going to happen every day.
David Spoon:We don't know what's going to happen on this show.
David Spoon:I write notes.
David Spoon:I mean, I could just say, just get a little verification from my butt over there from Professor Plum.
David Spoon:Look, does this look like a lot of notes to you?
David Spoon:Does that look like a lot of notes right there?
David Spoon:Can you see it?
Caller:Yes.
Caller:Yes.
Caller:It does look like a good amount of notes.
David Spoon:I didn't use those.
Caller:Just threw them out the window.
David Spoon:It's like, wait a minute, what do you mean using?
David Spoon:Because God had something else in mind.
David Spoon:Let's do what the.
David Spoon:It's like, come on.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:We need to spend that time.
David Spoon:Cause you don't know what the day will bring.
David Spoon:Well, today we're supposed to do this.
David Spoon:We're supposed to go through this or this supposed to happen.
David Spoon:This is supposed to happen.
David Spoon:What if it doesn't?
David Spoon:Are you still ready?
David Spoon:The way.
David Spoon:Are you still connected?
David Spoon:The way you do that is you daily focus in.
David Spoon:You daily commit.
David Spoon:You know, I don't have a problem if you want to end your day doing it or start your day doing it.
David Spoon:I don't think that's as big a deal.
David Spoon:It has to be consistently thinking kingdom first.
David Spoon:And to do that, you got to hang out with God, right?
David Spoon:That's what it is.
David Spoon:D Draw closer to the Lord daily.
David Spoon:Nature never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:And I think one time Jay had called in and he brought this up, that you know, the justice of this does not get done.
David Spoon:And he was correct.
David Spoon:When you are ashamed of Jesus and his words, Jesus is ashamed of you.
David Spoon:That is just the worst possible thing.
David Spoon:You don't have to understand all theology to trust God.
David Spoon:You don't have to trust everything everybody else says in all the world.
David Spoon:But to trust God, he saved you.
David Spoon:So to be ashamed of that very gospel, to be ashamed of those very words that he communicated to mankind that's at a way deep level of not good.
David Spoon:Way deep.
David Spoon:So draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:Especially if you reference Luke 9.
David Spoon:26 and then A, always be ready.
Caller:To serve.
David Spoon:I mean, the whole point of this, and just so you can see it as a model, is if we draw closer to the Lord every day, we will be ready to serve if we're not ashamed of what God has to say.
David Spoon:And part of that comes.
David Spoon:They're all combined, and part of that comes through this.
David Spoon:If you're spending time with the Lord.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:And then the word of God is applicable to the situation, and you're the one that's got to speak it because the Lord do it.
David Spoon:And why I say that is because the world will try to shame you.
David Spoon:I mean, look at this stupid.
David Spoon:I just can't even express it.
David Spoon:I was talking to my daughter last night.
David Spoon:The stupid things that are going on in the media, they're so dumb.
David Spoon:It's just dumb.
David Spoon:Why does anybody care what those people think?
David Spoon:It's like, that's not very nice to call them dumb.
David Spoon:Okay, I'll do what Jesus did.
David Spoon:I'll take Jesus tact.
David Spoon:I'm going to do Jesus tact.
David Spoon:You brood of vipers.
David Spoon:You snakes, you venom.
David Spoon:That was what Jesus said.
David Spoon:I'm just calling him dumb, by golly.
David Spoon:That's nicer.
David Spoon:I'm just saying.
David Spoon:It's just.
David Spoon:Why would you listen to the worldly and the ungodly?
David Spoon:The Holy Spirit lives inside you.
David Spoon:You don't got to follow that rubbish.
David Spoon:Well, I want to know what's going on.
David Spoon:You think it's going to catch God by surprise?
David Spoon:Okay, then.
David Spoon:That's the only person you want to see connected to.
David Spoon:You know what's going to happen tomorrow?
David Spoon:Oh, you know what they're printing in the news four weeks from now?
David Spoon:No, you don't.
David Spoon:God does.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Just saying.
David Spoon:Who's in charge?
David Spoon:He's in charge.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.
David Spoon:Hey, always be ready to serve.
David Spoon:All right, we do have somebody on the line.
David Spoon:Do they want to do the trivia or.
David Spoon:Yep.
David Spoon:Okay, send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Eric:Hey, David.
Eric:This is Eric.
David Spoon:Hey, Eric, how are you?
David Spoon:Hi.
David Spoon:How are you, brother?
Eric:Hey, I'm doing great.
Eric:I was just thinking back as you were going through all the.
Eric:We have another anniversary to celebrate for.
Eric:This is the second year that the good Lord is letting me keep my wife for another two years because of the troubles that she went through in the hospital two years ago.
Eric:That little, bitty, itty, tiny, tiny little kidney stone that was supposedly.
Eric:Is she.
Eric:Everybody's stronger then.
Eric:Well, it took her.
Eric:Took her to her.
Eric:She was in ic.
Eric:I'm not a doctor, so I don't know if I'm giving all the right terms or not, but she was in icu in and out for a good solid two weeks, and they finally figured out her.
Eric:What the problem was with the kidney stone and through prayer and through the right doctors and all that good stuff that you guys helped pull me through two years ago.
Eric:Well, it's coming up, that anniversary.
Eric:I think it's in February, actually, but it's close enough where I just am very thankful for the Lord to let me keep her again for these last two years.
David Spoon:You know what?
David Spoon:That's such a great.
David Spoon:Let me just say.
David Spoon:I really want to commend you.
David Spoon:That's such a great testimony, because, you know, God has given her to you as a gift, and by you saying that, you're communicating that.
David Spoon:I don't know if she gets a chance to hear this or not, but that is you telling all of us.
David Spoon:This is a gift that God has given me, this person, and it just makes my life just so much better.
David Spoon:And it's just like.
David Spoon:And you know it.
David Spoon:And you know that the Lord granted you time with her, and he loves you because he gave her to you, and he loves her because he gave you to her.
David Spoon:And it's just.
David Spoon:It's beautiful.
David Spoon:That's what that is.
David Spoon:That's a beautiful testimony.
David Spoon:I love it.
David Spoon:I just absolutely love it.
David Spoon:People don't realize how precious we are to each other.
Eric:There's so many gifts that he has given me.
Eric:And just in that one.
Eric:That one circumstance event that we went through, I realized the things that you guys have helped pull me through with the prayers and the thoughts and the encouragement and, you know, there's.
Eric:Every one of you were Barnabas.
Eric:You know, it's just.
Eric:It's great to know that you guys are out there, and I appreciate it a lot.
David Spoon:No, we love you, brother.
David Spoon:We just.
David Spoon:We're very, very.
David Spoon:We're so blessed that you're a part of it.
David Spoon:I mean, it's not even funny.
David Spoon:People don't know.
David Spoon:We've said this before.
David Spoon:People don't know.
David Spoon:No texting without Eric.
David Spoon:Eric's the one that said, well, can we text?
David Spoon:It's like, hey, that's a good idea.
David Spoon:Back in the COVID days.
David Spoon:Wow.
Eric:Yeah, I vaguely remember that, but I Think there's a lot of people that were that wanted to do that texting.
Eric:It wasn't just me, but thank you and enjoy the show and we'll see.
Eric:Like you said, we'll see where it takes us today.
David Spoon:Did you want to take a shot at the Triv?
Eric:Oh, you know, I didn't hear the question.
David Spoon:Do you want to set it up for you?
David Spoon:Okay, here we go.
David Spoon:I'll set it up for you.
David Spoon:You'll get there, trust me.
David Spoon:I mean, just have confidence.
David Spoon:Here we go.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:So from a very simplistic point, Peter and the apostles were facing the Sanhedrin in Acts, chapter five.
David Spoon:And they said, well, ought to obey.
David Spoon:And so what we're looking for is who was it that they were saying they ought to obey?
David Spoon:Was it wise parents, strangers with good deeds, priests, or God?
Eric:Well, it was obviously God.
David Spoon:That is correct, Amanda.
David Spoon:Sir, I just think it's we ought to obey God rather than men.
David Spoon:Okay, argument closed.
Eric:There we go.
David Spoon:Excellent job, Eric.
David Spoon:Super, super, phenomenal.
Eric:Thank you, David.
Eric:Have a great day.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:God bless.
David Spoon:Bye.
David Spoon:Bye.
David Spoon:Okay, folks, we will in fact take our break here and just see what leads into.
David Spoon:What leads into.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break, we'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
Announcer:What is the David Spoon Experience?
Announcer: lf on a rocket ship racing at: Announcer:Once there, you can sense the power and the presence of the majestic and the divine.
Announcer:You forget about your troubles and your fears and you just float in peace without a worry.
Announcer:In the world, there are no struggles, no pain, no discomfort.
Announcer:It's soothing, calm, comfortable.
Announcer:But then the show starts and you realize that none of that stuff has anything to do with the show.
Announcer:What were you thinking?
Announcer:The David Spoon Experience?
Announcer:Only for the brave of heart and the board.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:You guys think all of our jokes have to be, you know, Christian themed.
David Spoon:So, okay, so this is a Christian chicken.
David Spoon:Okay, that'll help you.
David Spoon:These are 9, 10 people.
David Spoon:The last one is so funny.
David Spoon:These are 10 people.
David Spoon:Why the chicken crossed the road.
David Spoon:Okay, now these are people, you know, some are political, some are not.
David Spoon:Nobody's getting picked on.
David Spoon:This is just fun stuff.
David Spoon:Nancy Grace, why the chicken crossed the road?
David Spoon:That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty.
David Spoon:You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.
David Spoon:That's Nancy Grace.
David Spoon:Pat Buchanan.
David Spoon:The chicken crossed the road to steal the job of a decent, hard working American Martha Stewart.
David Spoon:No One called to warn me which way the chicken was going.
David Spoon:I had a standing order at the fair at the farmer's market to sell my eggs.
David Spoon:When the price dropped to a certain level, no little bird gave me any insider information.
David Spoon:This is great.
David Spoon:Dr.
David Spoon:Seuss, did the chicken cross the road?
David Spoon:Did he cross it with a toad?
David Spoon:Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but it crossed.
David Spoon:I've not been told.
David Spoon:Okay, this is just an old grandpa.
David Spoon:In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road.
David Spoon:Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road and that was good enough for us.
David Spoon:Donald Trump.
David Spoon:We should build a wall so the chicken can't cross the road.
David Spoon:That's hilarious.
David Spoon:Now, if you don't think this one is funny, I'm going to be very concerned about you.
David Spoon:Barbara Walters.
David Spoon:Why did a chicken cross the road?
David Spoon:Isn't that interesting?
David Spoon:In a few moments, we'll be listening to the chicken tell for the first time the heartwarming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting and went to accomplish its lifelong dream of crossing the road.
David Spoon:Wow.
David Spoon:Aristotle.
David Spoon:It's the nature of chickens to cross the road.
David Spoon:Bill Gates.
David Spoon:Let's skip Bill Gates.
David Spoon:Just skip it all together, the last two.
David Spoon:And you can't tell me these aren't funny.
David Spoon:Albert Einstein, did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the chicken?
David Spoon:That's relativity.
David Spoon:And then finally, Colonel Sanders, did I miss one?
David Spoon:The David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's K double amen.
David Spoon:770, the Truth Station here in Texas, where we're just going to follow along the best we can.
David Spoon:Let's get ready for your next trivia question.
David Spoon:Is the book of Tabitha in the Old Testament, New Testament, or neither?
David Spoon:Is the book of Tabitha in the Old Testament, the New Testament, or neither?
David Spoon:If you think you know just that simple, you can reach out to us.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Or send an email davidemustincrease.org it's pretty simple.
David Spoon:Is the book of Tabitha in the Old Testament the New Testament or neither?
David Spoon:That is the question that's being asked.
David Spoon:In the meantime, I do want to remind you the reason that you would reach out to us, the reason that you would send an email, text or call is for a praise report, a prayer request or something you just want to share or even an answer to Trivia.
David Spoon:Like we just asked you about the book of Tabitha.
David Spoon:Is it the Old Testament, New Testament, or neither?
David Spoon:We are going to get this one piece done because we're not going to get to do this for a while.
David Spoon:We're going to go straight out and do Jake's take.
David Spoon:Some of you won't be happy about it.
David Spoon:That's okay.
David Spoon:But I'm just making sure you're connected.
David Spoon:So we want to do Jake's take and then we'll go from there.
David Spoon:Go ahead.
David Spoon:Well, my friend, what do you got for us?
David Spoon:How apropos.
Caller:Well, David, we.
Caller:We didn't get them both right.
Caller:This for last night's games, but we.
Caller:We did split, correct?
David Spoon:That is correct.
David Spoon:We got one of two.
David Spoon:Which then means that my record is one for seven.
David Spoon:One for the last seven games.
David Spoon:Boy, that is bad.
David Spoon:Isn't that bad?
Caller:You didn't.
Caller:You didn't miss all of them.
Caller:You got one.
Caller:Right.
Caller:With both of us picking the Eagles to beat Washington.
Caller:But we.
Caller:I picked the Bills and you picked the Bills.
Caller:Correct?
David Spoon:Yes.
Caller:And that was a close game, but the Chiefs came away with the win.
Caller:So now we have a Chiefs, Eagles, Super Bowl.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:So for don's sake, don't came out of Philadelphia.
David Spoon:He'll be voting.
David Spoon:Rooting for Philadelphia.
David Spoon:But for most of the rest of us who don't really have a fan favorite, we'll be rooting for really good commercials and excellent finger foods.
Caller:Yes, yes.
Caller:We talked about for the show.
Caller:I'm rooting for eating a good pizza while watching the game in a couple of weeks.
David Spoon:There it is.
David Spoon:You're not going to hear very much on Jake's take for a while because I'm not covering the super bowl or the Pro Bowl.
David Spoon:So we're going to take a break from that because I'm not.
Caller:Who's going to win the Pro Bowl, David?
Caller:The AFC or the nfc?
Caller:I know.
Caller:It's just such a riveting game and.
David Spoon:I can tell you who's actually the win.
David Spoon:The team that scores the most points.
Caller:Okay, That's a great prediction.
Caller:I'm going to agree with you there.
David Spoon:All right, thank you so much, everybody.
David Spoon:All right, good job on Jake's take.
David Spoon:All right, your trivia question.
David Spoon:Oh, leave it alone.
David Spoon:All right, where were we?
David Spoon:Oh, it's.
David Spoon:Is the book of Tabitha in the Old Testament?
David Spoon:The New Testament or New.
David Spoon:Neither.
David Spoon:If you think, you know, you can Reach out to us.
David Spoon:No, we don't know what we're doing.
David Spoon:Does that ever matter?
David Spoon:It's never mattered for me before.
David Spoon:Why would I start now?
David Spoon:Genesis 14:1.
David Spoon:So remember, this is Abraham and Lot.
David Spoon:Lot has split off, picked what he thought was the better land.
David Spoon:Looked good to him, looks choosy for me.
David Spoon:I'm going to get the best deal out of this.
David Spoon:And he chose what he chose.
David Spoon:Abraham said, wherever you go, I'll go the opposite direction.
David Spoon:Just going to be accommodating, be a nice guy.
David Spoon:Just trusting that God will work it all out.
David Spoon:Chapter 14, verse 1.
David Spoon:About this time, war broke out in the region.
David Spoon:King Amrephel of Babylonia, King Arioch of Elisan, King Kedor, Lamur of Elam, and King Tedal of Goyim fought against five other kings.
David Spoon:King Bera of Sodom, King Bersha of Gomorrah, King Shinab of Admath, King Shamaber of Zobein, and the king of Bela, which is now called Zor.
David Spoon:The kings of Sodom and Gomorrah, Adamah, Zobenah and Bela formed an alliance and mobilized their armies in the Sidon Valley.
David Spoon:This is the Valley of the dead sea.
David Spoon:For 12 years, they had been subject to the King Kedalamora.
David Spoon:But now, in the 13th year, they rebelled.
David Spoon:I want to point this out because most of us in reading this, and you know, because you've read further, most of us could care less.
David Spoon:Now, let me rephrase what I'm trying to say.
David Spoon:What I'm trying to say by that is events happen in the world that we often consider to be unrelated.
David Spoon:But because we are God's people, anything that impacts any of us is important to understand and is not without the knowledge of God.
David Spoon:Why I'm saying that is because sometimes the events in your life seem almost meaningless or useless.
David Spoon:Oh, that's just this.
David Spoon:Or that's just this.
David Spoon:But what happens more than not for a Christian is it turns out that there's some underneath thing going on where God is working out something altogether different.
David Spoon:I happen to really like this particular one where King Saul, before he became king, and he was just.
David Spoon:Saul was sent looking for the donkeys.
David Spoon:I know, but it's so funny because he's out looking for pets, right?
David Spoon:He's looking for the family animals.
David Spoon:At the same time, God is telling Samuel, I'm sending you a king.
David Spoon:And you just have to take those two happenings and realize this is one happening to God.
David Spoon:From Saul's point of view, it's just, oh, I Gotta go find the.
David Spoon:I gotta find the animals.
Caller:Blah.
David Spoon:What a drag.
David Spoon:And God's telling Samuel, hey, I'm sending you a king.
David Spoon:You don't know it, but I'm sending you one, right?
David Spoon:It's like, why that's important is because you have songs like Waymaker that talk about, even though we don't know he's working, he is working.
David Spoon:God is continually doing stuff.
David Spoon:All these things that we see in scripture, they all lead to something.
David Spoon:Do you think it's just scripture that God, only scripture leads to things?
David Spoon:What are you talking about?
David Spoon:The events in your life lead to things.
David Spoon:They might be harsh, they might be confrontational, they might be healing elements, they might be growing elements.
David Spoon:They might be challenges, they might be testings, they might be trials.
David Spoon:It might be any of those things.
David Spoon:But the Lord is never without purpose.
David Spoon:And what I'm really, really, really trying to communicate is there is nothing in your life that happens that has no purpose.
David Spoon:You are a child of the most high God.
David Spoon:He is the king of the universe.
David Spoon:He is the creator of time.
David Spoon:There is no event that takes place in your timeline that is unknown to God or unused by God.
David Spoon:It's an amazing element.
David Spoon:And I began to understand this after I became a Christian when I was into baseball and I was just really, really good and so on and so forth.
David Spoon:And the Lord used the thing that I was into and really, really, really good at to teach me this huge lesson on humility that I would fight against and fight against and fight against for years until he made it known that that was part of my training.
David Spoon:I just didn't know it.
David Spoon:There are things that are happening in your life right now that you don't understand their ramifications.
David Spoon:But that doesn't mean God doesn't have ramifications.
David Spoon:That doesn't mean God isn't working.
David Spoon:That doesn't mean God is void of a plan.
David Spoon:And so you have this king with these guys.
David Spoon:And we know now because it's going to involve lot.
David Spoon:So that's going to involve Abraham.
David Spoon:But what was first happening?
David Spoon:It's like, oh, so what?
David Spoon:Oh, that's happening all the way over there in that land.
David Spoon:Hey, guess what?
David Spoon:Everything is woven.
David Spoon:And God is the ultimate weaver of all of those things.
David Spoon:So instead of you thinking in your life, this is wasteful, useless, whatever it is, you're wrong.
David Spoon:There's something going on.
David Spoon:And our trust for God, let's go back to that.
David Spoon:Proverbs 3, 5, 6.
David Spoon:Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
David Spoon:That means that our, our understanding is not the basis for everything.
David Spoon:In fact, the scripture says we walk by faith and not by sight.
David Spoon:We're not even supposed to walk by what we see.
David Spoon:Well, if we're really going to walk by what we believe, then let's do that and think and believe and trust.
David Spoon:God is working very awesome things out for his kids that ultimately will result in good, because God is good.
David Spoon:Oh, it's just a war.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:But there's a big statement being made and what we're going to find out when we get into it.
David Spoon:And you guys already know this because you've read, you know what the scripture is going to say and it has to do with Abraham rescuing Lot.
David Spoon:It has to do with Melchizedek.
David Spoon:It has to do with Abraham stepping back from some of the kings trying to get glory because they're connected to him.
David Spoon:There's all these wonderful and powerful lessons.
David Spoon:The big lesson here is that nothing that's taking place in your life is useless.
David Spoon:Think of that.
David Spoon:I mean, he always leads us in triumphal procession as servants of Christ.
David Spoon:Thanks be unto God, 2 Corinthians 2:14.
David Spoon:Who always leads us in triumphal procession.
David Spoon:He always leads us in a victory parade as the servants of Jesus Christ.
David Spoon:Isn't that cool?
David Spoon:No, it's not wasteful.
David Spoon:It might not be time for you to know, but nothing is useless as God coordinates it in your life.
David Spoon:Okay, all right, let me go back to the trivia question.
David Spoon:Which is the book of Tabitha.
David Spoon:Is that in Old Testament, New Testament, or neither?
David Spoon:I think the answer is pretty clear.
David Spoon:It's in neither.
David Spoon:It could be in a television show with Darren or whatever his name was, but it is not actually a book in the Bible.
David Spoon:Not much difficulty on that one.
David Spoon:We'll take a break and then we'll come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break, we'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.

David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's K AA Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Get ready for your next trivia question.
David Spoon:What was the name that the apostles gave?
David Spoon:Hosea, a Levite from Cyprus?
David Spoon:So your reference point, just in case you want to know, is Acts 4:36.
David Spoon:How you say his name?
David Spoon:Hoses.
David Spoon:That's how you say that name.
David Spoon:What name did the apostles give?
David Spoon:Hoses, a Levite from Cyprus?
David Spoon:Was he given the name Barnabas, Cephas, Amos, or Gideon?
David Spoon:Your answer is in Acts 4:36.
David Spoon:That is the question.
David Spoon:In the meantime, we are going to, for the first time today, send you up to the website.
David Spoon:I will make this very clear so that nobody can miss it.
David Spoon:We need money.
David Spoon:Is that a good way to do that?
David Spoon:Yes.
David Spoon:We've been having.
David Spoon:People have been giving, and we so appreciate it, but we are way behind the ball.
David Spoon:Doesn't matter, because the Lord's going to come through and we believe that.
David Spoon:I'm just asking you to pray about it.
David Spoon:If the Lord puts it on your heart, do something about it.
David Spoon:Awesome.
David Spoon:Awesome.
David Spoon:2 Corinthians 9, 6, 7.
David Spoon:The point is this.
David Spoon:Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly.
David Spoon:Whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully.
David Spoon:Each one must give as he's decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion.
David Spoon:For God loves a cheerful giver.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:He likes that when people are smiling when they give.
David Spoon:Here's my challenge to you.
David Spoon:If you're able to give, give, we can really use it.
David Spoon:Let's just leave it there.
David Spoon:Check it all out on the website.
David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org Prayer request.
David Spoon:Hemostincrease.org Praise report.
David Spoon:He mustincrease.org Looking to give to this ministry.
David Spoon:He mustincrease.org Confused by what's happening right now.
David Spoon:Hemustincrease.org Hemustincrease.org My bank sent me that sound.
David Spoon:That's pretty funny, though, right?
David Spoon:My bank sent me that phone.
David Spoon:All right, come on.
David Spoon:What name did the apostles give?
David Spoon:Hosea?
David Spoon:A Levite from Cyprus.
David Spoon:Was it Barnabas, Cephas, Amos, or Gideon?
David Spoon:Your reference point is Acts 4.
David Spoon:36.
David Spoon:In the meantime, we will do history.
Caller:Let's go live faith in the past.
David Spoon:All right?
David Spoon:Now, I apologize for this in advance, okay, about what I'm about to do.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:I'm apologizing in advance.
David Spoon:I did this to my kids when they were visiting.
David Spoon:So I'm going to do this to Jim and Jacob just to.
David Spoon:And I've already done it once, so just bear with me here.
David Spoon:Imagine you are locked in a room surrounded by hungry wolves.
David Spoon:How do you get out?
David Spoon:You stop imagining.
David Spoon:Okay, There you go.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Come on.
David Spoon:That is funny.
David Spoon:You stop imagining.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:Anyway, today, of all the things.
Caller:Bad Joke Day.
David Spoon:Bad Joke Day.
David Spoon:This is one of the more serious things, though.
David Spoon:This is Holocaust Remembrance Day for people that survived the Holocaust.
David Spoon:We have multiple families that are connected to our family that are connected to that.
David Spoon:And Jeanette was kind enough to say, remind me, it's an 80 year anniversary.
David Spoon:I didn't realize it was 80 years, but it's Holocaust Remembrance Day now.
David Spoon:Also on that today, there are a few other things that are kind of interesting.
David Spoon: In: David Spoon:So 99 years ago today, listen to this.
David Spoon:The first television broadcast was demonstrated 99 years ago today.
David Spoon:Isn't that a mind blower?
David Spoon:It's like after 100 years, you think they'd maybe do a better job of having everything work better.
David Spoon:I don't know, maybe it's just me.
David Spoon:You had 100 years to work on this.
David Spoon:This is all you got.
David Spoon:Okay.
Caller:I wonder what that was like to just watch the first television broadcast.
David Spoon:I know, it must have been so weird, but now you look at it.
David Spoon:See, here's the thing that I've always found funny.
David Spoon:And people can just bear with me on this one because this is just a social observation.
David Spoon:Everybody's super excited to get a television.
David Spoon:Then we went through color television.
David Spoon:Then from color television we went into stereo.
David Spoon:And then went from stereo we went into big screen TVs.
David Spoon:And then they've got the stuff that's taking place on your phone, and then they've got it down where you can watch television on your wrist.
David Spoon:And I like what Dennis Miller said one time, he said, so I can watch television on a 72 inch thing or I can watch it on a 1 inch by 1 inch.
David Spoon:Is that really a question?
Caller:Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Caller:How far, like, you know, you had like the networks and everything.
Caller:Now there's like streaming.
Caller:Like you said.
Caller:You can, you can go to your phone and go to, oh, let me go to Netflix and then watch any movie on Netflix.
David Spoon:That's weird.
David Spoon:It's a weird world.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Additionally, I'm saving the best for last.
David Spoon:Everybody relax.
David Spoon:Additionally, today is technically chocolate cake day.
David Spoon:Hello.
David Spoon:That's.
David Spoon:I mean, come on, you can tell me a lot of things about this show.
David Spoon:That's one of the best things I've said all day right there.
David Spoon:Chocolate cake day.
David Spoon:People are like, oh, chocolate's not good for you.
David Spoon:Breathing's not good for you.
David Spoon:You will eventually die.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:Milk is not good for you.
David Spoon:You can either have 89 years of absolute misery or 88 and a half years of absolute fantastic.
David Spoon:Choose.
David Spoon:There you go.
David Spoon:That's my attitude.
David Spoon:And those of us who are living forever, not much of a choice.
David Spoon:What name did the apostles give?
David Spoon:Hosea?
David Spoon:A Levite from Cyprus?
David Spoon:Was it Barnabas, Cephas, Amos, or Gideon?
David Spoon:Your answer is in Acts 4.
David Spoon:36.
David Spoon:Back to the text we go.
David Spoon:I just want to make sure you understand what's going on at this point.
David Spoon:The kings, they're all in war.
David Spoon:I'm going to skip some of it because it's like 30 verses and I don't want to go through each thing.
David Spoon:But here's what happened.
David Spoon:One year later, Chadel Amer and his allies arrived.
David Spoon:They conquered the Rephaimites in Ashtaroth and the Emites in the Plain of the Horites in the mountain of Zir.
David Spoon:They swung around and the place now called Kadesh destroyed the Amalekites and also everything else.
David Spoon:But now the armies of the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah prepared for battle in the Valley of the Dead Sea.
David Spoon:And four kings against five.
David Spoon:And as it happened, the valleys filled with tar pits.
David Spoon:And as the armies of the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some slipped in the tar pits while the rest escaped to the mountains.
David Spoon:The victorious invaders then plundered Sodom and Gomorrah and began their long journey home, taking all the wealth and food with them.
David Spoon:Here it is in verse 12.
David Spoon:And the only reason it's important to us, they also captured Lot, Abraham's nephew, who lived in Sodom and took everything he owned.
David Spoon:So why I bring that up and why this is important to the story is because Lot is not excluded yet from the things that are going to take place, genealogy wise.
David Spoon:He's a nephew to Abraham, and Abraham's a great man of God and God loves him dearly and his kin was taken.
David Spoon:It's not like Abraham thinks, wow, Lot, he's such a righteous guy.
David Spoon:That's not what's there at all.
David Spoon:But what happens is he's taken.
David Spoon:And that's important to Abraham.
David Spoon:We're going to find Abraham's response.
David Spoon:But I want to say something about this.
David Spoon:I want to use this as a launching pad to say something to you and to me.
David Spoon:One finger pointing out, three fingers pointing back, right?
David Spoon:And it's this.
David Spoon:Many of us have family members who make terrible decisions and they get caught up in the wars and they get kidnapped, so to speak, spiritually, morally and otherwise.
David Spoon:And that does not mean we forget them.
David Spoon:This information comes to Abraham.
David Spoon:We're going to see what Abraham does.
David Spoon:We'll get to that in the next segment.
David Spoon:But what I'm trying to tell you is if you've got a wayward child, I have a wayward child.
David Spoon:If you have a wayward child, you don't just give up on them.
David Spoon:You don't just quit.
David Spoon:You Can't God put them in your family for a reason?
David Spoon:And he has himself in your heart for a reason.
David Spoon:And you might pray to the very last day of your breath, but you should never stop praying for your kin, your family.
David Spoon:And by the way, Abraham and Lot for a very long time were very close.
David Spoon:So you never stop praying for your family, even if they make terrible decisions, go in the wrong direction, hook up with the wrong people, and eventually get captured by foreign armies and have everything taken from them.
David Spoon:You don't stop praying for them, hoping for them, believing for them, trusting and asking God to interfere, to change the circumstance.
David Spoon:And many of us have kids that are kind of there.
David Spoon:Some of us have kids that are all the way there.
David Spoon:And some of us have kids that are nowhere close to there.
David Spoon:They're all still your kids.
David Spoon:They all matter.
David Spoon:Everybody matters to the Lord.
David Spoon:Not everybody's going to get saved.
David Spoon:And you don't know who will or won't.
David Spoon:But if you're going to do something, do something through petitioning God to reach them.
David Spoon:And don't tell me they're so lost they can never be recovered.
David Spoon:Just don't say that you don't know that.
David Spoon:Only God knows.
David Spoon:Think about that.
David Spoon:Foreign army takes over, kidnaps lots, takes everything he owns.
David Spoon:He is now he is just a slave to this foreign situation.
David Spoon:Just horrible.
David Spoon:But now Abraham is going to get involved.
David Spoon:Now things are going to change.
David Spoon:The real key in that is to understand that oftentimes you are the person that stands in the breach for that lost relative or child or parent or sibling.
David Spoon:You stand in the breach for them.
David Spoon:You're the one that's prevailing with God.
David Spoon:Prevail on their behalf.
David Spoon:Get that?
David Spoon:Ooh.
David Spoon:Don't quit.
David Spoon:Don't give up on that.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:What name did the apostles give?
David Spoon:Hosea?
David Spoon:A Levite from Cyprus.
David Spoon:Was it Barnabas, Cephas, Amos, or Gideon?
David Spoon:It was Barnabas.
David Spoon:Acts 4:36.
David Spoon:We'll take a short break, then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break, don't go anywhere.
David Spoon:What the whole teaching has to do with is that dissatisfaction that people have who are worldly when the divine is involved.
David Spoon:I want you to hear that line.
David Spoon:That's the big line.
David Spoon:That's the big connector between all of this.
David Spoon:The worldly are never satisfied if divinity is involved.
David Spoon:So the example Jesus says is, you know, we played the flute for you, right?
David Spoon:And the flute, you know, woo the flute.
David Spoon:Yay.
David Spoon:Happy sounds right.
David Spoon:And the people are like, no.
David Spoon:It's like, okay, well we sang a dirge for you, right?
David Spoon:When you sing at a funeral, right?
David Spoon:And the people were like, no.
David Spoon:And then John the Baptist, he says, comes.
David Spoon:And John the Baptist is as straight as you can get.
David Spoon:We would call him, you know, you know, a massive teetotaler might be fair enough to say.
David Spoon:And he says, he's not eating bread, he's not drinking any wine.
David Spoon:And you people, the way you respond, you go, hey, he's got a demon.
David Spoon:And then Jesus, he says, I come, Son of man comes, I'm eating and drinking.
David Spoon:And then what do the people do?
David Spoon:They extreme it out and they say he's a glutton because he's eating.
David Spoon:Not eating more than he should, he's just eating.
David Spoon:And he's a drunkard because he had wine.
David Spoon:You see, this is the thing.
David Spoon:The thing is that the world and the worldly are never satisfied.
David Spoon:That's why I said that connection to the song.
David Spoon:And don't get mad at me that I used a Rolling Stone song.
David Spoon:It's not my fault.
David Spoon:They wrote a song called I Can't get no Satisfaction.
David Spoon:This is the Lord trying to reach people at different levels and people keep going, no, no, no, no.
David Spoon:And it's non stop.
David Spoon:And there's just no satisfying them.
David Spoon:And even the one thing that I would say, and I've said this before in the beginning of this, of this broadcast, and I don.
David Spoon:Care about your political affiliations, but when people get going in a certain direction, you can't move them one way or another.
David Spoon:And when the media was all over Donald Trump, it's fair to say that had he helped cure cancer with research, they would have accused Donald Trump of putting people out of business who were in the cancer business.
David Spoon:It's just like that's exactly what they would have done.
David Spoon:Everybody knows that.
David Spoon:And it's because that's how the mentality is.
David Spoon:If somebody comes along and does something that's good and it's not appreciative to the world or they don't like it, they will rip it to shreds.
David Spoon:You can't play the flute, you can't sing a dirge, you can't be Johnny the Baptist and you can't be Jesus Christ because none of those things satisfy.
David Spoon:We want exactly what we want.
David Spoon:Which, by the way, they don't even know what they want.
David Spoon:That's the irony.
David Spoon:It's God that's giving the opportunity for people to get the answers.
David Spoon:And people are so inwardly confused because of Satan.
David Spoon:They wouldn't know a good thing if it split them in the eyeballs.
David Spoon:That's the problem.
David Spoon:The David Spoon Experience welcome back to that David Spoon Experience.
David Spoon:Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the truce station here in Texas.
David Spoon:That's K double amen, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Quick reminder, I will not be responding to texts till after 4.
David Spoon:Just letting you know that ahead of time.
David Spoon:Here's your last trivia question.
David Spoon:We are a little tight on time.
David Spoon:Don't take forever.
David Spoon:Don't call up and give Jacob your life story.
David Spoon:In Genesis 39, whose wife tried to seduce a handsome slave named Joseph?
David Spoon:In Genesis 39, was it Daniel, Shimei, Potiphar or Achan?
David Spoon:Genesis 39, let's see, Genesis 39, 1, 7, 8 is the place that you want for your reference point.
David Spoon:In Genesis 39, whose wife tried to seduce a handsome slave named Joseph, Daniel, Shimei, Potiphar or Achan.
David Spoon:That is the question.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Davidemustincrease.org okay, so the question is whose wife?
David Spoon:So this is going to be the husband then, right?
David Spoon:Whose wife tried to seduce a handsome slave named Joseph?
David Spoon:According to Genesis 39, was it Daniel, Shimei, Potiphar, or Achan?
David Spoon:That is the question.
David Spoon:If you think you know, you have a short window to reach out to us.
David Spoon:Let's just go to the rest of this text so we can close it down from verse 12.
David Spoon:In Genesis 14 it says this One of the men who escaped came and told Abraham the Hebrew who was camped at the oak grove belonging to Mamre the ammonite.
David Spoon:Mamre and his relatives Eskel and Aner, were Abram's allies.
David Spoon:When Abraham learned that Lot had been captured, he called together the men born in his household, 318 of them in all, and he chased after Chedorlaomer's army.
David Spoon:So we're going to take this call if somebody can answer quickly.
David Spoon:If not, I'm not going to take it because we're in a tight time frame.
David Spoon:But this is the first place in scripture where the Jewish people are called Hebrew.
David Spoon:In verse 12 of Genesis 14, the man came and told Abram the Hebrew who was camped at the oak grove.
David Spoon:It's the first mention we have somebody who's going to answer a trivia question.
David Spoon:They're going to do it fast.
David Spoon:Let's send Them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Eric:Shel Potiphar.
David Spoon:Yep, that is correct.
David Spoon:Excellent job, Shel.
David Spoon:Excellent work.
David Spoon:Thank you, brother.
David Spoon:You're so good.
David Spoon:Great job, bro.
David Spoon:All right, that's how you do it.
David Spoon:That's how you do it.
David Spoon:All right, now, I only got two minutes left, so let me just keep moving on.
David Spoon:So let's just go from there.
David Spoon:So here, Abraham, he's called the Hebrew.
David Spoon:First place in scripture, he's called the Hebrew.
David Spoon:That's why we're called the Hebrews.
David Spoon:You're looking for it.
David Spoon:There's their biblical reference.
David Spoon:Leave it there.
David Spoon:He's camped.
David Spoon:He gets the information.
David Spoon:And what does Abraham do as soon as he learned that lot had been captured?
David Spoon:He calls together the men that were directly connected to his family.
David Spoon:And he also uses his allies, by the way, and he chases after his lost nephew.
David Spoon:He gathers his resources from his very own, and he makes a strategy.
David Spoon:He uses, remember Abraham's allies.
David Spoon:Abraham's a nice guy.
David Spoon:People like Abraham.
David Spoon:Abraham's not like some bad guy.
David Spoon:People enjoy Abraham.
David Spoon:He uses his friends and his family.
David Spoon:He calls them together and he says, we got to go get my nephew.
David Spoon:And why I think this is important is because the very thing that we started off with with Eric talking about that and recognizing that it was a lot of people that prayed and got him through.
David Spoon:When you are in a situation that is probably past you or you're in a situation, you're frustrated, you're up against it, you're fighting against an army.
David Spoon:You get help.
David Spoon:Other Christians, other believers, family members who also have faith and trust in the living God so that you can approach this with the multitude of people and of faith.
David Spoon:Where two or more are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
David Spoon:Not just you alone.
David Spoon:It's not just yours to handle.
David Spoon:Even though this was Abraham's relative, he needed his family's help.
David Spoon:And when you're going through it spiritually, if you need your family's help, call them together and get it.
David Spoon:Don't be so full of pride.
David Spoon:You think you can do it all on your own.
David Spoon:Get help.
David Spoon:That is how God designed it for believers to be.
David Spoon:Follow his plan.
David Spoon:Get that?
David Spoon:All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:22 and a half hour break, then we'll come back.
David Spoon:More insanity of spananity.
David Spoon:Talk to you then me down in peace and sleep.
