10-02-2026 PART 3: When God Gives You a Reason to Rejoice
Section 1
Sometimes God reinforces the same truth from several directions until it becomes impossible to miss. After the earlier conversations about God’s faithfulness and protection, Dr. Dave turns to a devotional that had been selected before either phone call: “The Battle Belongs to the Lord,” from 2 Chronicles 32:8. Hezekiah faced overwhelming opposition, yet his confidence was not in numbers, strategy, strength, or connections—it was in the presence of God. 10022026C That becomes the believer’s perspective whenever circumstances appear larger than our ability to handle them. We can become consumed with the size of the opposition while forgetting the greatness of the One surrounding us. The battle does not ultimately depend upon our strength. God remains present, faithful, and completely capable of fighting battles that are far beyond us.
Section 2
ROSLYN’s call provides a beautiful example of turning answered prayer into praise. After her cousin Dolores underwent surgery, the pathology report confirmed there was no cancer, sparing her from additional cancer treatment. Dr. Dave celebrates the report as a specific answer to the prayers offered by ROSLYN, churches, listeners, and others who had been standing together in faith. 10022026C Scripture tells believers not only to weep together but also to rejoice together, and this was clearly a moment for rejoicing. The answer became more than good news for one family; it became a testimony that could strengthen other people who are still waiting for their own answers. Dr. Dave then turns that celebration directly toward God through prayer, thanking Him for His kindness and asking Him to continue using ROSLYN to encourage others to believe, pray, and watch for His work.
Section 3
Faith also reveals itself when obedience requires standing alone. Esther 3 describes an enormous crowd obeying the king’s command to bow before Haman while Mordecai alone refuses. 10022026C Dr. Dave connects Mordecai with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: none needed to become obnoxious or combative; they simply determined that their first allegiance belonged to God. Genuine faith does not measure truth by how many people agree with it. Sometimes hundreds or thousands may bow while one person remains standing. The believer’s responsibility is not to manufacture confrontation but to refuse surrender when obedience to people would require disobedience to God. Loving the Lord with heart, soul, strength, and mind means placing Him above every competing demand. Faith in action is sometimes remarkably simple: when everybody else bows, you quietly remain standing because God comes first.
