09-30-2026 PART 3: When God Himself Becomes Your Sanctuary
Section 1
Isaiah’s command not to fear what others fear leads directly to something even greater: “The Lord of hosts is the one you shall regard as holy.” Dr. Dave explains that fearing God means approaching Him with reverence, honor, and respect while still knowing Him personally as Father. Then comes the remarkable promise—God Himself will be our sanctuary. 09302026C A sanctuary is a place of relief, rest, and peace, but believers do not ultimately find that security in a vacation, resort, or escape from everyday responsibilities. The true sanctuary is the manifested presence of God. It is there that believers experience the fullness of joy and receive a foretaste of what eternity will ultimately bring. The refuge we keep searching for somewhere else is found most completely in Him.
Section 2
Judgment and difficulty do not mean God has forgotten those who faithfully belong to Him. Isaiah describes serious consequences coming upon Israel, yet in the middle of that warning comes the response of the faithful disciple: “I will wait for the Lord…I will put my trust in Him.” 09302026C That distinction matters. Dr. Dave emphasizes that believers should not allow constant reports of conspiracy, fear, or impending disaster to determine their spiritual condition. God’s disciples are called to understand His testimony, remain grounded in His Word, remember what He has already accomplished, and continue trusting Him. Circumstances around us may become unstable, but our confidence does not have to become unstable with them. The faithful response is not panic—it is waiting upon God while trusting that He remains completely aware and completely in control.
Section 3
The constant stream of news, social media, rumors, and frightening predictions can easily begin shaping a believer’s thinking. Isaiah offers another way: do not call everything a conspiracy, do not fear what others fear, and make God your sanctuary. Dr. Dave stresses that God has never abdicated His throne or surrendered control of human affairs. 09302026C The King of the universe remains King regardless of what appears chaotic on earth. Christians therefore do not need to live underneath the shadow of every alarming headline or prediction. Our lives should be shaped by the Lord Almighty rather than by voices continually generating fear. Jesus remains the light of the world, and His disciples are called to walk in that light, waiting upon Him and trusting Him. When everything around you is trying to become your source of fear, make God your sanctuary and remember that He has never stopped reigning.
