Section 1
Answered prayer is often easier to recognize when the answer is dramatic, but God’s involvement in our lives reaches into much smaller moments as well. Dr. Dave encourages believers not to overlook the seemingly ordinary ways the Lord responds, because Scripture warns against despising the day of small things. An answer may involve a major financial need, or it may simply be God providing enough strength and patience to make it through another difficult hour. While praying for the audience, one particular thought became clear: pray for people to calm down. That message was not merely intended for listeners—it was something Dr. Dave increasingly realized God was personally speaking to him as well.

After an exhausting week of relocating both home and studio, the pressure to accomplish everything had begun competing with simply operating in God’s grace. Then, during his regular Bible reading, Dr. Dave unexpectedly arrived at Isaiah 7:4: “Calm down and be quiet.” The very message he had already felt led to pray for others appeared directly in the Scripture he was scheduled to read that morning. It became a personal reminder that responsibility does not mean believing everything depends upon us. Whether the pressure involves family, work, health, politics, finances, ministry, or countless unfinished tasks, there remains only one Person ultimately in control—and He is already seated securely upon the throne.

God’s instruction goes beyond calming down: His people are also told not to be afraid or discouraged. Dr. Dave connects that truth with the peace Jesus gives in the middle of turmoil and the invitation of Hebrews 4:16 to approach the throne of grace confidently for mercy and help. Sometimes believers must stop trying to manufacture the outcome, become quiet before God, and simply receive what He is giving them. Being still does not mean abandoning responsibility; it means refusing to carry responsibilities as though God were absent. He knows every frustration, fear, pressure, and unfinished problem. Because He remains faithful, believers can release those burdens into His hands, calm down, become quiet, and confidently remember: God is enough.
