08-20-2026 PART 3: Trusting God with the Choices Before Us
Section 1
God takes personally what happens to His children, reminding believers that they are never forgotten, abandoned, or left defenseless during opposition. Dr. Dave then returns to Paul’s teaching concerning marriage and singleness, emphasizing that both are honorable choices before the Lord. Someone who willingly remains single to devote greater attention to God’s kingdom demonstrates tremendous commitment, but marriage does not make another believer less spiritual. Christians operate under the same grace while sometimes making different personal choices. What matters is living honestly before God and addressing anything the Holy Spirit reveals as harmful rather than condemning others whose walk looks different.
Section 2
Waiting upon God becomes especially challenging when important decisions involve circumstances beyond our control. Dr. Dave shares how changes involving ministry, location, family, and the studio have repeatedly brought him and Noelle back to the same instruction: do not be afraid to believe. They cannot control every outcome, but they can trust that if the Lord desires a particular direction, He can confirm and establish it. Their prayer has been refreshingly simple—if they misunderstand His direction, they ask for mercy because their sincere desire is to honor Him. Surrendering the situation repeatedly brings renewed peace and relief.
Section 3
Closing First Corinthians 7, Paul makes clear that marriage is good, singleness is good, and neither determines a person’s spirituality. A widow is free to marry again, provided the relationship is in the Lord, while husbands and wives are called to serve and love one another faithfully. Dr. Dave connects that freedom with a broader lesson about pursuing God sincerely without constantly fearing that He is waiting to become angry over an imperfect decision. God knows when the heart genuinely desires to please Him. Sometimes faithful obedience therefore means trusting His mercy, accepting His timing, and simply becoming quiet enough to stop forcing the outcome.
